Dream Wedding
We had an absolutely perfect wedding here. We had 100 guests total and so we didn't rent the Annex - it was the perfect size for us. It's a beautiful venue and the Manse across the street was perfect for the bridal party to get ready in. -

The BEST day at the BEST venue!
We couldn't be happier with our decision to get married at the Brooklyn Arts Center. The minute we toured the venue, we fell in love with its charm and architecture! Not only is the venue stunning, but the staff is unparalleled. Every single person we worked with from BAC was welcoming, kind, and helpful. We could not have imagined a more perfect place to get married!
We got ready in the Manse Suite which has every amenity to make getting ready on your big day perfect. We also stayed in Ms. Cat's Cottage after. It is beautifully decorated, incredibly convenient, and so comfortable. Highly recommend BAC for your big day!-

Beautiful Venue!
The Brooklyn Arts Center is seriously one of a kind wedding venue. I fell in love with the venue immediately after touring it because of the historic feel and how beautifully they preserved the entire space. There are so many unique picture spots and our photos turned out stunning thanks to all the exposed brick, gorgeous picture window upstairs, and all the natural greenery outside. My favorite moment from our wedding day was getting married underneath the big window on the main level, another main reason we picked this venue! Our family is still talking about how unique the venue was! The staff was absolutely amazing the day of our wedding, they made sure I always had a drink in my hand and truly cared about us having the best day ever. Charyl was so great to deal with, she was very informative and always answered my emails right away. The bartenders the night of the wedding were such professionals, I was nervous about only having one bar because my family can drink, but everyone told us it was the best bar at a wedding they’ve experienced and the bartenders were so quick. I also got ready with my bridesmaids in the manse and it was such an adorable spot to get ready and take pictures, and it was perfect for when me and the bridal party just needed a minute to relax during the day. We flipped the inside church for our ceremony and reception and it worked out perfect. The courtyard was used for our cocktail hour and it was so nice to relax outside and have everyone enjoy the North Carolina weather! We had around 125 guests and everyone fit perfectly downstairs on the main level for the reception, we even put some cocktail tables upstairs for people to venture upstairs to the balcony. There was PLENTY of space for everyone on the dance floor and the stage was awesome, me and my bridal party made sure to get up there for a song which was so much fun. I wouldn’t change a thing from our wedding day and highly recommend choosing the Brooklyn Arts Center for a unique wedding day!-

Great wedding venue!
We had our daughter’s wedding here in March 2019. It was the best day. Having “The Manse” to spend the day getting ready
with my daughter and her bridesmaids was perfect. Everyone loved the beauty of the venue. Wish my son and his fiancé would get married here but they are getting married in Durham.-

Beautiful venue for a Wedding!
Beautiful venue for a wedding! The venue was exactly what I was looking for - it has so much character with so many unique spaces to capture beautiful photos. I especially loved having The Manse all day to get ready with my friends and family. It is a gorgeous space. Charyl, Jay, and all the BAC staff were a pleasure to work with while planning our event, and all the preferred vendors we used were incredible! Would recommend to anyone!-

The Perfect Spot
Brooklyn Arts Center was the perfect venue for our wedding day! BAC had us in awe from the moment we pulled up. The entire grounds are absolutely beautiful and it truly was the best, most perfect spot for our special day. Jay and the entire BAC staff were extremely friendly, professional, responsive, offering to help and give vendor suggestions from day one. They made us feel like we were their only wedding because of the amount of attention and dedication they gave us during the entire wedding planning process. Brooklyn Arts Center is not only historic and gorgeous, but it also has so much space for getting ready and relaxing leading up to the wedding, which was a wonderful bonus! We were highly impressed with everything from day one and are so grateful that the BAC staff did everything to make our day one we will never forget. We can’t wait to come back! -

An amazing perk of this venue is the freedom to customize to have the wedding of your dreams (& in your budget!) there is a large list of recommended vendors so you are able to get exactly what your want for the price you want. We love this venue so so much as you can see from photos is can be transformed to look and fit many different styles and budgets. A dream venue for couples and photographers!
I absolutely love Brooklyn Arts Center! It was an absolute joy to work with this venue for Casey & Kelsey’s big day. The venue is a photographers dream, filled with so many special spots and beautiful natural light for photographs. The staff was incredibly kind and professional. My couple had so many nice things to say about working with the staff behind Brooklyn Arts Center. They were courteous and helpful to all vendors and guests. I highly recommend this venue! Brooklyn Arts Center, you are loved by Jillian Knight Photography!-

Historic beauty, with a WOW factor!
The building is beautiful on it's own, and we cried tears of joy when we walked inside on our wedding day. We flew to Wilmington for less than 24 hours to pick our venue, and we met Rich for our first tour late on a Sunday night. 2.5 hours later, we were wowed by how much information and peace of mind we were given. Our tours the next day were no match for everything we loved about Brooklyn Arts Center. Rich and his team keep the beautiful venue in perfect condition, and his statement that they only do "perfect weddings" is no lie! The Manse is also a lovely option for brides and their loved ones get ready on the day of the wedding. Our girls loved having a special place to get ready, before our big day! We will definitely visit Brooklyn Arts Center for future events, any time we are in town!-

The Most Perfect Day!
The Annex at the Brooklyn Arts Center was the perfect choice for our wedding day. From the bridal suite, to the beautiful stain glass windows, to the gorgeous brick detailing throughout, we were absolutely in love. The venue is very versatile and I believe it can make any couple's visions, dreams, and style come true for their wedding day. I cannot recommend this venue enough! -

Romantic, Intimate, and Perfect Venue!
From the second we visited The Annex, we immediately fell in love with the character, uniqueness, and beauty of the venue. It was everything we were looking for to make our wedding feel intimate and be able to have the entire day all in one location. Once we met Rich, it made our decision that much easier. His knowledge and enthusiasm not only about the venue and wedding industry, but also the importance of our special day gave us so much confidence in having our wedding at The Annex. We didn’t just feel like another customer. Rich and all the staff with the Brooklyn Arts Center truly do care about you and making sure your individual experience with them goes as smoothly as possible. In addition, I found that in comparison to the majority of other venues in Wilmington, they offered much more flexibility and less restrictions.
The Annex brought the vision of our wedding day to life! From the bridal suite, to the main bar downstairs, to the romantic stain glass windows, the venue has so much charm everywhere you look. It’s such a versatile venue that gives any couple the ability to have their day flow exactly how they want it to. Choosing it as our venue was probably one of best decisions during wedding planning and I would recommend it over and over again!

Absolute perfection!
Where to begin…maybe with the 3+ hour tour that Rich gave us when we first visited the BAC and the Annex. You could really tell that he was not only passionate about what he does and his space, but also about giving you absolute perfection and making you happy and stress-free. He was so fun to be with and so helpful. Before we even signed a contract, he had narrowed our vendor list down with us, offering all of his wisdom and advice and years of experience in the Wilmington wedding industry. Once we signed the contract, Rich continued to be incredibly helpful, going out of his way to answer questions and offer advice, which was especially helpful considering we were planning from 4+ hours away and couldn’t just "drop in" any weekend. Rich was there to oversee and check in on our big day and we felt so happy that he was a part of this experience. He truly put our minds at ease and delivered on making sure our day was everything we wanted and more.
I’ll add that guests are still raving about the space—the Annex was perfect for what we wanted- an intimate celebration with our family and friends, offering some old school (literally – the Annex is an old Sunday schoolhouse- perfect for people who work in education!) charm. We ended up at around 90 people and it was perfect. Plus the upstairs and downstairs is ideal because you are able to flip spaces (we did ceremony upstairs, cocktail hour downstairs, dinner upstairs, and dancing downstairs. -

Gorgeous Venue with Awesome Staff
We found BAC on wedding wire as we were planning our wedding from out of town. From scheduling the tour to booking the venue Rich made the experience easy and exciting. From the moment we walked in the venue we knew it was our venue. Rich does an amazing job not only giving a tour but during the tour showing photos of previous weddings and possibilities for the space. We used the BAC church for our venue. This space is amazing because it has gorgeous architectural features with exposed brick and high ceilings and its also a blank slate that you can turn into anything you've ever dreamed of for your wedding. We got so many compliments during and after the wedding about how gorgeous the venue was, and it truly was beautiful. We did our cocktail hour out in the courtyard which is another beautiful and convenient feature this venue offers. There is also a space where my bridesmaids and myself were able to get ready the morning of the wedding. There is a large farm table where we were able to have a brunch spread, a living room with couches, small kitchen and a beautiful room with tons of mirrors and natural lighting for hair and makeup. Rich was so easy to work with during the entire planning process. He helped recommend vendors - all of which were amazing and who all spoke so highly of working with Rich. Rich also was very flexible and tried to work with us to make everything as easy as possible for us. Rich has an amazing vibrant personality and as if you don't already feel so special on your wedding day he truly makes you feel like you are the most special person in the world that day. I wish I could relive my wedding day again and again. The BAC was the most gorgeous venue and was the perfect place to have the most beautiful wedding and the best day of our lives!! You will not be disappointed choosing this venue - and if you go on a tour - you will absolutely fall in love once you see this gorgeous venue. -

Best Day Ever
From the beginning, Rich, the executive director for BAC, told me that my wedding day was going to be perfect. I completely underestimated how perfect it truly was going to be. From the initial tour to the day of the wedding, everyone at BAC was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. We did our ceremony and reception in the main church and cocktail hour in the 2nd floor room of the Annex. Both venues are absolutely gorgeous and having a bridal suite on site to get ready in definitely eases anxiety. You are required to have a day of coordinator (and you definitely want one) but Rich is great about recommending ones that would match your personality. I can't say thank you enough for the part Brooklyn Arts Center and The Annex played in making my day so perfect! -

Incredible Tour of Brooklyn Arts Center
Rich was absolutely amazing from the very first phone call of inquiry about the Brooklyn Arts Center, through the tour of the venue, and is actively helping me prepare of my wedding that's happening very soon! The venue is gorgeous, but Rich really takes the time to make sure you fully envision what YOUR wedding will be like in his venue. We have booked both the Church and the Annex and I have no doubt that my wedding is going to be everything I could have ever wanted and dreamt for. -

The Annex is a dream come true
From the moment we saw it we knew we'd get married at The Annex. Rich was warm and welcoming and spent hours with us showing us around and telling us about the history of the venue. It's a true Wilmington treasure and so beautiful and charming, and busting at the seams with love! The flexibility of having the space all day made getting ready and staying on track so easy. Whenever we'd ask a question about something we wanted to do Rich would say, "whatever you want, it's your special day!" Before our wedding we came by a few times with family and our coordinator and the doors were always open to us. We truly felt like royalty at The Annex. We even arrived extra early the morning of the wedding and had a special yoga class before things got started. Our guests can't stop saying what a lovely space it was. If you're looking for a charming, exquisite and intimate setting look no further.-

Dream come true!
When we saw the pictures to this place we knew we had to see it. When we went to see it I wanted to hate it because the pictures are just like the venue! We fell in love with BAC from the moment we saw it. Rich showed us both locations and spoke to us about how it all works. We picked the church {and had our cocktail hour at the 1st fl of Annex}. Rich was awesome he met us and told exactly who we needed to hire as our vendors and man was he right, we got the dream team! Love this venue, loved getting ready at the house, tons of room 6 bm, 1 jr bm, 2 flower girls, 2 moms, and 1 sis in law. I had two hair dressers and 1 mua and we were all pretty comfortable. I recommend this place to everyone.-

Absolutely Perfect!
When we were searching for wedding venues, we never imagined we would find one so wonderful. We owe so much to Rich, the director. He knows all the great vendors in the area and was always available and happy to answer questions and help with recommendations.
We had our ceremony and reception in the Church, and cocktail hour in the courtyard. The bridal party had the Manse next door to the Church for the entire day to get ready. It was fantastic. The Church is also set up to host concerts, so our band sounded amazing on stage! We got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was, not to mention the great location in the Brooklyn Arts District in downtown Wilmington. We are beyond happy that we chose BAC for our special day. Thank you, Rich and BAC team!!!-

Beautiful venue
I toured a handful of venues in downtown Wilmington before make my last stop at the Annex and Brooklyn Art Center. As soon as I met Rich and saw the Annex, I knew that I had hit the jackpot. None of the other venues that I had seen brought forth the emotional connection and sentiment that I felt as I walked through the space. The Annex is a beautiful venue- it is an old Sunday schoolhouse that has been restored, with all of its historic charm still present. I will say that the main reason that I booked the Annex was because of Rich. His kindness, passion, and confidence was reassuring to us, as we were slightly lost with the whole wedding planning process. He took the time to not only explain the venue, but to give us tips and help us envision how our wedding day would be and the planning process. I did not receive that same treatment from most of the other venues that I visited. He gave us a list of his preferred vendors and it is evident that he built strong relationships with them. While speaking with my vendors while planning, all of them had great things to say about Rich and the Annex. We felt comfortable knowing how sure he was that our wedding day would be the best day ever and would run smoothly, and he was right. The whole day was perfect—he worked with my wedding planner to run the day smoothly. He has created a bridal suite that includes a kitchen for use up until the caterer arrives. He has a whole system in place for how it will be organized, and knows what layouts look best, etc. Most importantly though, he is so thoughtful and cares about his brides. I had to reschedule my wedding due to Hurricane Florence (my wedding was scheduled for the weekend after it hit), which I anticipated, given the amount of damage that Wilmington had. Rich called me promptly after he got to the venue and saw how much damage they had. He gave me a list of all of the new dates available for 2019, and with the help of my wedding planner, I was able to rebook for January with all of my vendors. Rich was kind, patient, and encouraging through the whole process. As I previously mentioned, our wedding day was perfect and I don’t think I could have found a better venue. -

Dream Wedding
Our wedding was last fall in The Annex. We had approximately 100 guests. It was the perfect size to give us the intimate feel we wanted and not be over crowded. There are two reasons we chose The Annex over many other venues in Wilmington. 1. The venue is historic and has a charm you can't find in most places. It's absolutely beautiful dressed up or down. It gave us the church feel we wanted without being in a church. 2. Rich. He's the most attentive person I know. If I wanted it, he wanted it. He cares 150% about his brides and that they get the day they want. He was always quick to reply to every question I had. He hosted multiple tours for me when family came to town and for my wedding planner. If you're looking for more than just a venue, this is the place to be. Rich makes this place. Our day was absolutely beautiful and every detail seemed to be perfect. We are still receiving compliments about our wedding. If I had to do this all over again, I would still choose The Annex, Rich and his team over all the other venues we visited in and around Wilmington! -

Love love love the Annex!!!
My husband and I knew we wanted to get married in the beautiful city of Wilmington. Specifically, we were looking for a venue that captured Wilmingtons beauty along with its unique culture. We toured several venues at the beach and downtown, but instantly fell in love with the Annex and it’s Director Rich. Within the first few minutes of speaking with Rich it was clear his intention was not to rack up the cost of an already expensive event, but to make sure our wedding day went as smooth as humanly possible. With The Annex we had a 15 hour time block, a bridal and grooms suite, as well as the freedom to bring in our own alcohol which was HUGE. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and Rich gives you the freedom to make your special day a dream come true. The vendors he partners with helped to ensure things went off without a hitch and everyone had an amazing time. Highly recommend the Annex and Brooklyn Arts Center!!!!-

The Bride and groom
I recently was married at the Annex, the smaller of the two venues at the Brooklyn Arts Center. We ended up with about 88 guests and the space was perfectly sized. Small enough to feel intimate but not crammed. I absolutely LOVED our wedding at the Annex!! All week I’ve been grieving that it’s over. It really was the most fun and beautiful weekend and I am SO SO impressed with all the vendors. Rich, the executive director at the venue, is very particular and is so invested in the perfection of the event. He has specific recommends for different vendors and there is good reason for it. They are FANTASTIC. My entire family cannot stop commenting on just how fantastic the entire event was. My husband and I and both our families and al friends were traveling from out of town. The venue is downtown close to hotels and restaurants and shopping. The Annex is nice because the ceremony, reception, and cocktail hour can all be held their. This involved a “flipping” of the ceremony space into the reception during cocktail hour, which was AMAZING and went flawlessly thanks to Rich and my wedding planner, Maggie Tyson (Coastal Confetti). It rained the entire day of my wedding and it didn’t even matter since all spaces used were inside. The Annex is now so special to me, I still cannot get over how great it was. The wedding exceeded all my expectations in every way, i loved everyone we worked with. The day was perfect and I felt like a queen!!

If you want a “Downtown Wilmington Wedding” this is the place to be! Our daughter chose the Brooklyn Arts Center for her May 2018 wedding due to her love of what this venue had to offer, most importantly its historic beginnings of being a church and the beautiful renovation that showcased the vintage architecture. It was an outstanding experience and a day that our memories will never forget! Rich Leder (Executive Director) and Charyl Williams (Social Butterfly) promised it would be a beautiful, magical setting and they lived up to their word! The set up for the ceremony was perfect; we were able to highlight the religious significance of marriage as there was no doubt we were in a church! Then amazingly the transformation for reception and accommodations for a live band was above and beyond what we expected…the wow factor was there! Our desire to have “outdoor time” was planned around a courtyard cocktail hour, however the weather prediction was not in our favor. The thoughts of having a tent with fans was not exactly what we envisioned. Rich and Charyl came to the rescue and cocktail hour was moved to the Annex. It was an absolutely gorgeous place with the stained glass windows and beautiful woodwork! We were blessed to have had this whole venue! If possible, we highly recommend securing the Annex for cocktail hour, photos and extra room for event needs. We are grateful that BAC also included the “Bridal House”! To be able to have a low key bridesmaid gathering in such an accommodating and relaxing area sets this venue a notch above others! It was awesome to have a room specifically designed for hair and make-up artists, a large table for spreading out food and snacks and a refrigerator for drinks (especially mimosas). Wow, what a lovely place with every convenience! We were especially impressed with Rich Leder’s kind words, day of wedding advice actions that showed how much he cares about the bride's experience. Unique venue for a special wedding day! -

We're not even sure where to begin with the Brooklyn Arts Center - nothing but wedding greatness!!! Rich is by far the best wedding venue director in Wilmington, hands down. Super professional, responsive, and can answer any question. Highly, highly recommend the Brooklyn Arts Center for any event. He made our wedding day beyond special - he made it perfect. We had a night wedding at the BAC & it couldn't have been a more perfect choice - it's absolutely gorgeous at night with lit candles, so romantic!!! So magical. Thank you so much for making our day incredibly memorable. -Elizabeth & Harrison -

Brooklyn Arts Center was the perfect place for our wedding! My husband and I have gone there for various events and always thought it was a beautiful space. We had spent so much time there over the years that when it came time to choose a venue, there was no question. We got married in the courtyard out back and had gorgeous weather and then had the reception inside. Not a lot of decor was needed because it’s already such a beautiful building. Rich Leder, the Executive Director of the Brooklyn Arts Center is wonderful to work with! We are so happy we chose the Brooklyn Arts Center for our venue! -

There are not enough words for how amazing this venue is! I literally had the most beautiful wedding thanks to the staff at the BAC and the amazing venue! I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Rich for giving us the best service and making this the best day of our lives. We loved everything about the old Charm, vaulted ceilings, large windows (beautiful for pictures) and the carriage house that the girls used to get ready in the day of the wedding! You must get married here. Thank you again for everything BAC! -

This venue is amazing! So beautiful, the house is available for the bridal party to get ready. Their are multiple size spaces to accommodate different size events. Perfect setup if you are considering a band. The main area has a beautiful balcony overlooking the main area. Rich is the best, he really makes every bride and groom feel extra special. -

My husband and I were having a lot of trouble finding a venue we really liked. We started looking in Savannah (where we were living at the time) and didn't like any venues there. We also looked at quite a few in Wilmington (he has a lot of family in the area) and finally took a tour at BAC (the main building and courtyard, not the annex). Rich spent an hour and a half giving us a tour, showing us pictures and talking through what our wedding day would look like. When we got back in our car, we immediately looked at each other and said this was it - we just had that feeling. Our day could not have ran any smoother and been more perfect. BAC is a great clean slate - you can do such a variety of things there and it comes out beautifully! Rich may be more strict that other places on who can be your wedding planner and caterer, but it's because he knows who the best of the best are and only wants his brides and grooms to work with them so their day is flawless. I can't recommend them enough! -

The Brooklyn Arts Center is BEAUTIFUL. We loved the original church but after seeing the Annex, we fell in love with the more intimate space. Rich Leder, the owner, could not have been kinder or more helpful in helping us setting a date (not easy when you have a sick dad!) and making sure everything was perfect/organized/smooth on the day of the wedding. He even let us use the space in the church - with the gorgeous windows - to take pictures (as there was no event in that portion of the building that day), despite the fact that we were using the Annex and NOT the church. It was the PERFECT choice for our perfect day. -

From the moment we walked into this beautiful venue, as well as meeting Rich for the first time, we knew that this was the perfect wedding venue for us. From day one, Rich made his venue into a place that felt like home. Him and his staff were committed to making our day one that we would never forget, and they accomplished that feat. BAC is absolutely beautiful, and they were able to accommodate any little details that we requested of them in order to make that space our own. All of our guests continue to rave about BAC as one of the best wedding venues they've ever seen, and we hope that Rich and his team continue the wonderful work that they do. -

My husband and I fell in love with the Brooklyn Arts Center the moment we stepped into the venue. Meeting with Rich absolutely sealed the deal and we knew the BAC was the place for us. Rich was incredible to work with and the venue was just magical. I was a bit nervous when we found out that another wedding would be taking place at the Annex next door, but of course Rich was completely right when he said there would be no issues at all. Bottom line, trust Rich. He is the best. We had multiple friends come up throughout the evening that said they wish they could do over their wedding day at the BAC! -

We toured the Annex when it was still under construction, and even though it was the first venue we toured, I knew from the first step in the doors that it could not be beat. Included in the venue is an amazing Bridal Suite downstairs where I was able to spend the morning getting ready with my girls at the venue. It was so nice to not have to run around the day of the wedding, and the setup was perfect for hair/makeup and mimosas! We had our ceremony upstairs with about 60 people standing against the gorgeous stained glass backdrop. Cocktail hour on the main floor was incredible. We hired an acoustic guitarist who played on the perfect wood stage. That, paired with a beautifully designed bar, ...I could have stayed at cocktail hour all night. We transitioned back upstairs for the reception and our guests were blown away with the transformation. Logistically, it was a breeze. I cannot tell you how convenient it was to have everything in the same location. If I could give this venue 10 stars I would. Amazing historical details and built in decor, perfect size for an intimate wedding, and RICH (who was a dream to work with!) We received compliments from everyone who attended the wedding, and for good reason. Absolutely perfect venue. -

In addition to this venue being historic, spacious, and beautiful, its biggest asset is its event director, Rich Leder. He knows weddings and he knows how to get it done so that every couple has their perfect day. My husband and I visited several lovely venues in and around Wilmington, but as soon as we met Rich and visited the BAC, we knew it was perfect for us. I particularly enjoy that there are no time constraints for your event and that for weddings, the ladies have the entire first floor of the manse all day in which to get ready. And with its new annex, the BAC can now accommodate both large and small gatherings! The BAC is definitely worth checking out. You will not be disappointed. -

Rich was responsive and a pleasure to work with. He gave good recommendations on vendors before we had a planner, and provided good suggestions for the wedding. We chose BAC as the venue because we were able to have both the ceremony and reception in one place. Having the manse to get ready right next door was a big plus too. And most importantly, our two dogs were able to participate in the ceremony as flower girls. -

Richard is amazing and after meeting with him one time, I can tell that he is enthusiastic about my wedding and wants what's best for the groom and I and our guests. (I wrote this after meeting with Richard before our wedding). Now that we've had our wedding-- I can say that the Brooklyn Arts Center was the best venue!! Having a band for our reception and them being on stage was AMAZING!!! Our reception was a great party that people will be talking about forever. The venue is so gorgeous it speaks for itself and the charm of Richard is the icing on the cake!! Great venue!! -

Rich at the Brooklyn Arts Center was amazing! From the first day we toured the venue to the day of the wedding! He answered every question we had promptly and was very helpful in suggesting other vendors to work with.
He makes the bride feel like the center of the universe from the very beginning. Showers you with comliments and makes sure everything is running smoothly and the way you want it to. The best part about this venue is that it comes with a bridal suite right next door with a kitchen, bathroom, and plenty of space for even the biggest bridal party to get ready! There is also no time limits! We arrived at the bridal suite and 8 am and left the venue close to 1 am! -

After an extensive search my husband and I fell in love with the BAC. The space has so many different unique features you can highlight. The unexpected beauty of the courtyard and the worlds most perfect aisle complete with a back porch to walk down was completed nicely with the blank gorgeous space of the church. We knew we could make our mark on it and make it uniquely ours. I also knew that if it happened to rain on my wedding day, the option of getting to say my vows up on the beautiful stage in the church was a mind setting back up plan. The third part of the amazing location is this gorgeous historical house that as a bride you get to get ready in with all of your friends and family. It also ment day of I was there overseeing the whole decorating process and enjoying qt with my girls. And then to top it off there is Richard. He is just wonderful. I will be completely honest and say I don't think anyone else during the whole wedding planning experience made me feel so much like a bride a Richard did. Right away he told me anything I wanted he would do his best to make it happen for me, throughout the whole process he came through completely on that promise. There is also a great team working with Richard who are equally as amazing. Artie helped with the heavy lifting decor work. Because of his exposure he had some awesome ideas of what to do with the spaces during the planning process. Susan upkeeps the beautiful landscaping of the property. She was there beautifying (and subsequently lowering my florist cost) throughout the process, even agreeing to my moms request of keeping the flower pots full of white flowers for our day. Overall the day of results were spectacular. The BAC was a perfect backdrop to make my wedding day completely magical. I wouldn't of wanted to get married anywhere else in the whole world, it was perfect. Word to the wise it books up fast so check it out asap if you're interested. -

The Brooklyn Arts Center is the most breathtaking venue I have ever seen. My fiancé and I knew it was the place for us when we first stepped through the door. It is beautiful, spacious and the location is perfect. The team there (especially Rich!) is AMAZING. Rich spent so much time with us answering all of our questions, promptly responded to any email I sent him and made me feel like I was his only bride (even though there were plenty more brides to worry about!) throughout the whole wedding planning process! I loved that my guests could stay in one place for the ceremony, cocktail hour & reception and we had the venue for as long as we wanted! You do not find that at other venues in Wilmington! We got to bring in our own rentals, food, decor - which is what made it special for us. I loved our venue and the crew here that made our dream wedding come true! Highly recommend the Brooklyn Arts Center! -

There's so much character to the BAC, yet so much left to personalize to make your wedding unique. I highly recommend a wedding at the BAC. Thanks for everything Rich. It was perfect! -

We couldn't have imagined a more amazing venue than the Brooklyn Arts Center! We have had so many comments from our guests saying how impressed they were with everything. And Rich is absolutely amazing! From day 1, he has been so helpful along the way. The day of he constantly checked in on me to make sure I was doing ok and I had everything I needed. He oversaw the complete set up of the reception and ceremony as well. There is also not a cut off time at the venue so we had the venue as long as we wanted! The house on site was my favorite. It is a huge space that allowed me and my bridal party to get ready in all day. We were able to bring in food and whatever drinks we wanted. It gave us a relaxed feel knowing that once we were there we did not have to leave all day. And it helped because it was Azalea weekend! I would definitely recommend this venue and Rich is the perfect person for the job. Everything was amazing and we wouldn't change a thing! -

Love every. little. thing about the BAC. The space itself is stunning and when filled with special details such as lighting and decor, can be shaped into a truly unique, amazing space that you cannot get anywhere else in town. Rich is one-of-a kind. He takes your wedding, your family, your overall day so seriously, it makes you feel extremely special as a bride. -

LOVE the BAC at St. Andrews. The venue is absolutely beautiful!! It's historic with exposed brick, large windows, and lots of dark wood. It was the perfect back drop for our wedding day. The venue is large enough to fit a large guest count, but small enough to make 70 people feel cozy. Also, the size was perfect because it allowed us flexibility when it rained on our big day. We were able to move everything inside without any problems and still had plenty of room. Rich and the BAC staff were all great! Can't wait to go back there for one of their many events! -

My husband and I had been trying to figure out where to get married. When one of my coworkers told me about the BAC I thought...I'll check it out online. What I found was the PERFECT place to have a wedding. It has history, charm, romance, spirit and beauty all wrapped up in an amazing package. Richard is the director of the BAC and he knows everything you'll need, want, and hadn't even thought about. He made the whole experience at the BAC a wonderful one. If, or should I say "when" you choose the BAC, sit back, relax, and know you're in the best hands :) -

The venue was amazing! Richard made things so easy for us. We were able to have both the wedding and the reception here using the courtyard outside and then going inside for the reception. He gave us a list of vendors that he recommended to contact, and from that list we got almost all of our vendors!
Having the manse for the day to get ready and relax before the ceremony was phenomenal! We were able to bring everything in, including lunch, and get dressed and ready without feeling rushed.
I just can't say enough good things about our experience here! -

I felt extremely welcomed as soon as I stepped foot into the Brooklyn Arts Center. The event coordinator, Richard, is the most precious man. He is extremely enthusiastic and is constantly saying how it's all about the bride. The BAC owns a house that you get to use for 12 hours, and it has the most beautiful interior. It is very vintage and antique like, which I love. The house is all yours. You get ready there, and they turn one room into a salon for you and your bridal party. However, the wedding and reception is hosted at the old church that has become renovated as the BAC. I personally did not like the inside of the church. It was very dark, and the floor was like a red clay color. However, it is a huge space that can accomodate many people which is nice. Personally, I realized that I had fallen in love with the house and how awesome Richard was; but when it came to the BAC as the place to hold my reception, it just wasn't for me. I think it is overpriced, you have to pay $3,000 to simply rent it. However, no decorations or tables or chairs are included. You have to completly decorate the venue yourself. This can get expensive quickly. -

The absolute most gorgeous wedding venue in Wilmington... and maybe in the entire country! :) The owners did a fabulous job taking a rundown building and giving it new life. The preserved the history and made it modern, everything from the changeable lights to the draped ceiling... and that arch, WOW! It was the perfect backdrop to our vintage and timeless wedding. The only slight disadvantage is that you have to rent tables, chairs, linens, etc. But on the other hand, it is an empty shell that can changed to fit your individual style! -

Brooklyn Arts Center - A Beautiful Venue with Convenient Accommodations
We recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center - The Annex, and couldn't be more delighted with the experience. from the stunning beauty of the venue itself to the convenience of renting the adjacent Airbnb cottage, every aspect of our wedding was made even more special.
The moment we walked through the doors, we were captivated by its unique charm and elegance. The historic architecture and attention to detail in every corner of the space make it a truly enchanting setting for any occasion. The interior is both romantic and sophisticated, and our guests couldn't stop complementing how beautiful it was.
One of the highlights of hosting our wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center was the convenience of renting the Airbnb cottage next door. This turned out to be a game-changer for us. The cottage was not only charming and comfortable, but also made the logistics of our wedding day incredibly smooth.
Thank you to the Brooklyn Arts Center team for helping us create a memorable and beautiful wedding celebration. -

My daughter had her wedding and reception here. It is a wonderful place for that. The wedding was beautiful and everything my daughter dreamed it would be. The only minuses of this venue is nothing is provided when you rent the. venue so you have to rent everything... Chairs, tables , dishes, utensils.... etc, and the venue is very popular so it makes it hard to have rehearsals as well as get everything cleaned up before you leave because there are people booked before you and after you. Overall this is a great venue. -

Brooklyn Arts Center is a beautiful venue with so much character and history. One of my favorite things about it, and one of the key reasons we chose it for our wedding, is that you get a huge amount of versatile space and you literally have full access to it all day long. There is an outdoor courtyard (where we had our ceremony), a huge indoor space that is perfect for a big reception, and a house next door where the wedding party can get ready. Most of the venues I looked at had very strict time constraints and would charge you by the hour if you went over your alotted time in any direction. But at the BAC the place is all yours literally ALL day. The only (very slight) drawback is that when you rent the space you are ONLY renting the space. In other words, you are responsible for renting outside chairs, tables, linens, etc. from an outside source. But this didn't prove to be much of a hurdle at all. When you rent the venue, you also get the priceless bonus of getting to work with Rich. Rich may be the nicest human being I have ever met and will do anything in his power to help make your wedding perfect. He is sincerely ecstatic to be a part of people's weddings, and it shows through his demeanor every time that you see him. We both have nothing but good things to say about this venue, and everyone who works there and is committed to making it run flawlessly. -

Amazing historic church that is hands down one of the best venues in Wilmington
The Brooklyn Arts Center church is where we got married. We felt very welcomed there from the get go. Rich was very helpful and really took his time making sure we got the full tour and low down. We were sold from the very beginning and even my now husband was head over heels for it. He isn't very excited about much but he was PUMPED to book this venue. With his interest and mine I knew this was the place to be! Everyone could not stop talking about our wedding and still do to this day. It was the perfect space. The ceremony flipped to the reception went flawlessly. The only thing I did not like and the reason I didn't give excellent on all aspects was the way some of my wedding party was treated at the end of the night. They were pretty much shoved out. Right at 9:30, the end of our festivities, we were given no time to get our stuff gathered. When we booked we were told we had it until midnight, which did not prove to be the case. Other than the treatment to my family and friends at the end, the day could not have been ANY more perfect!!! I will always recommend the Brooklyn Arts Center!!! -

Venue for the flexible wedding!
The BAC is absolutely stunning and they offer different venue spaces depending on your needs. What sold us about the BAC is that they were very upfront about all their policies and there is only one fee for the entire day rental. Many other venues in downtown Wilmington we saw set time parameters and if your event exceeds x amount of hours, they begin charging extra fees. Also Rich and the BAC allow you to bring your own beer and wine and if you get a liquor license from the state, then you can also serve spirits. We really appreciated this as many other venues had very strict and expensive parameters on what kind of alcohol, how much you can have and would charge you even if you have some guests that don't drink. We are also a Mexican couple that really loves and values our heritage so we extremely appreciated that since their only approved vendors don't have Mexican food packages - we were allowed to bring our own authentic Mexican food which was cooked by our parents and added such a special touch to our day. No other venues we looked at were nearly as understanding about how important our culture was to incorporate in our wedding day and it felt like everyone else was just trying to make the most money out of us instead of help us host our families to celebrate our love. Thanks BAC and Rich!-

I only had my ceremony there. It was a perfect compromise for my mom and I as she wanted a church and I wanted somewhere historic. The exposed brick is beautiful and the flowing ceiling fabric is very pretty. I am sure at night with the ceiling lit any color you want it is amazing. Rich was always very prompt to respond to any emails or phone calls.
The only thing I was a little disappointed in was my rehearsal. I had set this up a month or two in advance and when we got there, it was completely filled with chairs for another event. They did offer us the back up plan of practicing outside but I felt it would have been better for everyone to practice going up and down the stairs. Overall a beautiful venue! -

Yes, this venue is amazing. The building and connecting house have been completely restored. The attention to detail is visually delightful. Rich, the manager and "key master" treats his brides like the princess of the castle. Love him for that. You do have to rent all the chairs, tables, linens, etc. but this allows you to personalize for the wedding. My daughters wedding was simply beautiful and the ambiance of this venue was the foundation for this memorable event. A big thank you to Rich Leder for your hard work and support. -

Beautiful venue! We got so many compliments, as a lot of our guests were our of town guests and had never been to the venue before! It doesn't include any rentals or coordination, which is the only downside considering the price, but you do get a 16 hour rental plus the side house to get ready in. They allow you to use almost any vendor you wish, the owner is pretty flexible with out of town vendors with prior approval. -

Beautiful spot with some difficult staff
I LOVED this venue it was the perfect blank canvas that had enough character of its own to not need a huge amount of decoration (which is what I wanted). While they do offer a lot, EVERYTHING has a price tag….. everything. While the owners were amazing to work with, once I was handed off to the event coordinator Cheryl, I felt like the personal touch went away and every time I called her there was an issue. They have a required catering list which at the time of my wedding was difficult to use since all but one was booked for my date and that one was soo out of my budget. After working with the owners to reach a solution I found another catering group locally that they had to approve which took around a month and they had lots of additional requirements for them which then caused the caterer to charge me more…. Needless to say if you don’t have any set backs they are great but if you have to think outside the box or get creative with your vendors due to budget restrictions or lack of options they just add to difficulty.. they also say that the annex can hold around 150 people but we had difficulty getting 100 in there. The price that I list doesn’t include any of the additional charges for the drink package that we purchased. -

Wish I would’ve looked at more venues before deciding
To break it down, the venue seems like a great value because of its upfront cost, when taking into consideration all of the amenities they do not offer, the cost goes WAY up.
If you rent the church and there’s rain, you’ll need to rent more accommodations for outside courtyard in the event you aren’t also renting the other separate venue, also, they have a “preferred vendor” list that essentially 75% of the vendors couldn’t provide services the day of my wedding or they required extra accommodations to service due to the venue not having the proper accommodations. More cash.
They offer bar service for your ceremony but no drink ware, so rent or bring your own.
They offer you reception space but no seating or tables so you will need to rent and bring all of that in separately as well.
Oh, and don’t forget, the additional cost of having the rental company pick up everything “after hours” because you cannot leave anything at the venue overnight. More and more money.
Oh! And don’t forget the additional damage deposit.
And if you need to get ahold of someone from the management side, good luck. Jay was rude, Charyl was in Disney for quite some time yet required me to call and pay a deposit.
But I had to pay a 2700$ for a day of coordinator to essentially give me the nod for everything that I had already planned myself initially.
Essentially, find a venue that has everything in house already and save yourself headache and time and coordination and all that extra cash.
It’ll be worth it.

Make sure you can use the venue to your needs. Personnel was rude to my family and friends and talked down to them. They felt they knew more about what we needed than we did. While I did not hire who they thought I should have they stayed in the middle of my business. I explained to them I had experience in wedding planning but because I wasn't on their list I wasn't good enough. It took 7 weeks to get my deposit back. Nothing was broken or undone when I left that night. I asked before I left if anything else needed to be done. Nice building but the window sills and windows were dirty. Their view of cleaning was cleaning floor and bath rooms. No deep cleaning. I had to dust where the bride sat for pictures. I did like the fact that everything was in one place. The biggest thing is once I rent the building it should be mine. If I or my help is doing something wrong then tell me. We pulled up and unloaded ice on the back area and you would have thought the building had caught on fire. There was no sign that said you could not back up to the door to unload. Then the management thought they should meet my GUEST and tell us when to eat. NOTE nothing in the contract said they would be so involved in my event. I rented the building not their opinion. I would not rent from them again.
