Can't get much better
We contacted Bright Occasions only a few weeks before our wedding looking for a lifeline to help us get to the finish and that is exactly what we got. Margo took our plans and created a timeline working with all our vendors and getting everyone on the same page. She made great suggestions, especially during our venue walkthrough, and her team (Oli & Cristina) executed them beautifully on the day of our wedding. We felt completely supported and ended up having the wedding of our dreams.
Margo and her team are professionals and we recommend them to anyone who is looking to be fully present at your wedding knowing that the details, transitions, and hiccups are being handled. -

Made our wedding easy
Margo, Chelsea, and their team went above and beyond to ensure our wedding went off without a hitch. Their professionalism, attention to detail, thoughtfulness, and composure soothed any anxieties we may have had leading up to and during the wedding. We booked Bright Occasions for "month of" services, and had a very smooth transition integrating them into our planning process. Wedding guests all commented on how great of a job they were doing and how impressed they were with the team. We're beyond grateful. -

I had the privilege of working with Margo on our wedding design and month-of coordination and I am beyond impressed with her services. Her warm demeanor, unwavering patience and professionalism made her a joy to work with. She not only answered all our questions during the planning process, no matter how small, but also anticipated needs we hadn't even considered.
On the day of the wedding, Margo managed everything seamlessly, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the celebration. Her organizational skills and calm demeanor were invaluable, and we were able to enjoy every moment without a hint of stress.

The Bright Occasions - THE BEST!
I used The Bright Occasions for my wedding in Washington, D.C. Margo was the BEST. I truly enjoyed working with Margo, and she helped to create the best day of my life. Every single vendor Margo recommended was great, and I trusted her with every decision. I would recommend Margo to anyone who is planning a wedding of any size. Margo stays calm throughout the entire process, no matter what the circumstance was. We decided to change our wedding venue and she handled everything flawlessly from start to finish. I would HIGHLY recommend using Margo. Everyone from my family enjoyed our experience with Margo, and I could not have asked for a better wedding planner. -

The best!!!
I would highly recommend that anyone planning an event enlist Margo and the Bright Occasions from day one! Margo is professional, empathetic, organized, and experienced. My fiancé and I were both extremely busy in the months leading up to our wedding. Margo helped us navigate the planning and get things in place, while always being patient and understanding. She worked with us to create an event that was exactly what we had in mind and reflected our preferences and tastes. She brings to bear significant expertise and great connections with reliable vendors. At the same time, she was always responsive to our thoughts, style, and desires. She kept track of a million moving pieces. In addition to making the logistics of the wedding manageable, she made the planning overall more fun! The Bright Occasions
From the first intriductory phone call to the last moments of the wedding day, Margo was an absolute dream. Her calm demeanor and attention to detail was wonderful. There was never anything that we asked of her that wasn't met with "of course". She has a great relationship with many DC/VA vendors which was an added bonus .
Thank you Margo for all your hard work in making the wedding everything we had hoped for..I would highly recommend Margo and her team when youre looking for a wedding planner.. -

Exceptional Planner!
Margo from Bright Occasions was an absolute life saver!
We reached out to her after needing to change our wedding plans last minute due to COVID. Just 5 weeks from the wedding she helped us start from scratch after already having a full wedding planned. Within 24 hours we had 5 venues to look at, all within a limited budget. She was professional, reliable, and very quick to help when we needed it. I would highly recommend anyone in the DMV area use Bright Occasions to help plan their wedding! -

Proactive, Responsive, Professional, Helpful... and Beyond
We hired Margo after making the COVID-19-induced jump from our 150+ person August wedding to an in-town 30 person September wedding. At the time, we had a rough idea of what the new plans would look like but little to no details worked out. We were also less familiar with vendors in the area than we were previously with my hometown. Margo was recommended by my coworker who'd used her services for her wedding.
Margo brought calm, professionalism, and reassurance to every interaction. I'm type A and appreciate someone who can act before I even have to ask and that was Margo. She identified great vendors for us to work with and worked beautifully without a hiccup with those we'd already identified. She was also flexible and adaptable to our needs when they varied from what we had planned and what was standard, all while being highly respectful of our budget and providing actionable opportunities to reduce costs. On my wedding day, things went more smoothly than I could have imagined. Margo corralled vendors and supported me through some challenging family dynamics. Pack-up the next morning was a breeze thanks to Margo and her team.
Hire Bright Occasions and expect 1) clear, consistent, timely communication 2) proactive and responsive help/coordination and 3) a calm, kind professional on the other end of all interactions. 100% recommend. -

I wish we knew her sooner!
Margo and her team were fabulous! We hired Margo (as the reception day of coordinator) about a month from the wedding due to all of the new changes with the pandemic. She was a great resource to bounce ideas off of and to answer my questions. All of my vendors said she was very pleasant to work with. I wish I would have hired her sooner and for the entire day!! -

Amazing. Supportive. Necessary
Wow. My biggest recommendation to brides, don't wait to hire Margot. I hired Margo about three months before my wedding when I finally realized I could not plan my wedding by myself. Margo was always available for advice, even if it seemed trivial. We hired her for "day-of" support as I had already hired most of my vendors and needed to tie up the loose ends. In reality, she helped with everything. She took care of all the questions from family, helped with last-minute vendor questions, and really made both me and my (now) husband feel at ease.
She is by far the best investment we made towards our wedding. -

Hire Margo! It'll be the best planning decision you make
We were beyond happy with Margo and the team at Bright Occasions. Margo is exactly what you want in a wedding planner - she is thoughtful, responsive, well-connected, and has a calming presence. We are two very busy people who didn't really consider ourselves "wedding people" and Margo helped us plan a perfect event that felt true to us. She is also exceptional at managing people. All our vendors knew exactly where to be and we had multiple folks mention that they were thrilled to be working with Margo. She is also great at helping to manage and organize families and wedding guests. Our mother of the groom even remarked that she would follow Margo anywhere. We, too, would follow her anywhere! -

Best decision we made!
My husband and I decided to hire Margo about one year before our wedding and it was the best decision that we made. When we began thinking about our wedding, we both were adamant that we wanted a stress-free wedding and thanks to Margo, we had that experience! Margo understood our vision for the wedding and made it a reality by helping us find wonderful vendors. She was always easy to get in touch with and always made us feel like we were her only clients (which we knew was not the case!). She is also a lovely and kind person so it was a treat to spend time with her throughout the process and on the wedding day. We have been recommending Margo to everyone who we know that is planning a wedding. She is the best! -

Margo is Marvelous
Margo made our dream wedding a reality. I seriously don't know how to tell you how awesome she is. I was initially on the fence about hiring a planner at all, because of the added expense, but it was hands down the best choice we made -- because of Margo. My only regret is that I didn't have her by my side right from the start!
I started referring to her as Marvelous Margo about a month in, and with every single interaction, she re-validated that nickname. She is the perfect combination of creativity, organization, and calm. She took my random Pinterest musings and overly vague ideas and turned them into something truly magical. She was also great at helping me think through budgeting and was mindful about my financial constraints without ever making me feel self-conscious. She was especially *marvelous* with advice on where to cut costs and where to spend maybe a little extra.
I may have to plan a wedding 2.0 just because I'm going to miss her so much. Hire her. NOW. You will NOT regret it.-

The greatest planner in the DC area
I’ve worked alongside Margo for almost five years and when I got engaged, I couldn’t picture working with anyone else to plan my wedding. Margo was professional at every turn, was responsive to emails and texts, and helped us bring our vision to life. So many of our guests commented on her positive demeanor during the wedding; she was informative without being pushy (as I’ve seen far too often at other weddings I’ve attended). She was incredibly understanding of our cost constraints, as my fiancé and I were paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves. She had great ideas, solved problems quickly, and made my wedding day experience perfect. I am so lucky to have had Margo and her team with me throughout the day. -

Margo is Amazing!
I can't even state how much I recommend Margo. She was so great throughout the year that we worked with her as our planner. Margo went above and beyond by recommending numerous vendors, solving problems that came up, and being very responsive. I live in New York and got married in Maryland. I also was starting a new job at the time when I got engaged. There is no way I would have been able to plan this on my own. From recommending the best vendors, to meeting with my mom and vendors when I was unavailable, to frequent phone calls, she was truly the best and easiest to work with. We also had a lot of issues with our venue and Margo made sure I was not stressed out and took care of any issue that came up. We loved her so much we are having her back to plan my sisters upcoming wedding ! -

Amazing Experience
We can’t say enough about how wonderful Margo was throughout the entire process of planning our wedding. We worked with her for partial planning for nearly a year and a half leading up to our wedding. Margo initially came recommended to us after we had asked our venue what wedding planners they preferred to work with and Bright Occasions was at the top of their list. It was essential to us that we had a planner as we work overseas in Taiwan and would only be able to make two trips back to the DC area prior to our wedding. Hiring Margo was the best decision we made when planning our wedding as she was always prompt in replying to our messages and was willing to skype/meet within our schedules (a twelve-hour time difference!). She also made sure that we stayed on track and helped with any etiquette questions we had as our situation was a bit different. Margo recommended some wonderful vendors that helped pull off our vision and made everything so seamless on our wedding day. We had several vendors comment to us that they really enjoyed working with Margo and were glad that we had chosen her as our planner.
On the day of the wedding, everything was perfect and stress-free. She really exceeded our expectations as everything was so beautiful and well thought out in terms of timelines and set-up. Following our wedding, we had so many people comment on how wonderful everything was and that it was the best wedding that they have attended in years. We credit that to Margo who truly helped to make our vision a reality.

Magically Magnificent
There are a lot of things that go into planning a wedding and if you don't have the right vendor team behind you, it becomes difficult to make your dreams a reality. We knew what we wanted (a Harry Potter themed wedding), we just didn't know how to make all the moving parts fit... until we ran into Margo's page. We probably talked to 20 event designers before finding her page and hiring her was one of, if not the BEST decision we made regarding our wedding. Margo is absolutely amazing and our words won't do her justice. She met and exceeded our expectations for the very beginning. She made our dream wedding into a magical fairy tale. Margo is someone you want in your corner, she is quick and efficient when coordinating with other vendors, receptive to your ideas and figures out ways to incorporate them seamlessly. She is the finishing touch we needed to make our wedding a truly unique, amazing, and unforgettable experience. We could not have made this wedding what it was without her!!!-

Couldn’t have done it without Margo
Margo and her team are so organized, thoughtful, and calming - we never doubted that they wanted us to have the best day of our lives. We instantly felt more relaxed when we started working with Margo for month-of coordination. She helped us with last minute requests (such as finding a videographer 4 days before our wedding), participated in numerous phone calls with vendors and kept everyone and everything on track. All I can say is "WOW"!!
Margo and her team were essential to our wedding day that went off just as we wanted. We originally hired her for 6-8 weeks out/month of coordination and added her design services afterwards when we soon realized that she had a wealth of vendor connections and ideas that really brought our "mixed metals" and "geometrics" theme to life. She was incredibly professional - listening to what we wanted for our day but also providing her opinion when needed to make a decision. She found a geometric archway that was fit us to a "tee" - modern, yet elegant. We had a glitch with our limo not being up to our standards (not a vendor referred by Margo) and she took care of it - excusing them and ordering an Uber Black to prevent my potential meltdown. She and her team is worth every dime spent, if not more. Our wedding day was the best day of my life and everyone has said afterwards that our wedding was the best they have ever been to.
She coordinated with our vendors, thought of questions and issues before they arose and her design advice and vendors recommendations are the best/top-notch. We had surprise live performance that we wanted executed in a certain way - she and her team pulled it off with out a hitch. She has great taste and is a pleasure to work with - always a positive attitude and most importantly, she listened to us as the bride and groom and executed our day perfectly. My only regret is not working with her sooner - waiting to start to work together 6-8 weeks before the wedding left a lot of decisions to be made last minute. -

Working with Margo and her team at Bright Occasions was such a pleasure! Margo was very responsive and proactive in helping us coordinate our wedding day. I cannot recommend Bright Occasions enough. During the planning process, Margo ensured that we thought through every major issue and had very helpful organizational documents to help streamline planning. She attended some month-of meetings with vendors and asked key questions, which was incredibly helpful. She was always responsive via email and kept in touch leading up to the wedding. Margo and her team were warm, friendly, supportive, organized, and discrete. On the wedding day itself, Margo and her team made it possible for my family and me to truly enjoy the day without worry, knowing that they would handle any issue with vendors and keep us all on schedule. We absolutely loved working with Margo! It was a wonderful experience and the absolute best decision we made in planning our wedding. After seeing a wedding Margo had done featured in the Washingtonian, I knew she was the planner for us, and our initial meeting confirmed it. From the very beginning, I felt like she really understood what our (sometimes vague) vision was for our wedding and how to turn it into reality. She recommended amazing vendors for us, and was always available for questions and to provide a calm, reassuring voice if I had a moment of indecision or wedding-related anxiety. Margo also has an incredible eye for design. Assistance with the look and feel of our wedding was one of the main reasons we decided to hire a planner, and Margo did not disappoint. Her input and ideas on every element of the decor were amazing and we, and our guests, were totally blown away by how everything came together on our wedding day. It was so beautiful. The best compliment we received about our wedding was how the day just "felt like us", which is exactly what we wanted and is 100% because of Margo.
Margo also truly cares about her clients You are not just business to her. We already knew this after a year of working with her, but it became even more apparent when I received a pretty devastating medical diagnosis just before our wedding. Because we weren't sure at first if we would be able to go to last-minute things like the venue walk-through, or even have the wedding at all, we shared the news with Margo and she went above and beyond for us in those last couple weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure everything would be perfect. Knowing that we could trust her with any last-minute decisions and tasks allowed us to remain stress-free about the wedding and focus on everything else we had going on. I cannot express how appreciative we, and our families, are that we had her as a resource.

Margo was the "asset of the day." Thanks to Bright Occasions, our wedding was seamless. We live across the country in California so having a planner in D.C. was crucial. Leading up to the wedding, I could email, call or text Margo with anything and she would respond immediately. Wedding planning is stressful. Margo is calm, smart, thoughtful and takes the anxiety out of preparing for the big day. Even in the moment, when faced with a rain plan decision, her suggestion made all the difference. She thinks outside the box and is a MUST HAVE when planning a wedding in the D.C. area. -

Courtney is fantastic! Attention to detail is her best quality as a Wedding Planner, but genuine kindness is her best quality as a friend.
We really felt like Courtney was a friend as she helped us through our wedding planning process.
It can be a stressful time, but she really took away our stress and it allowed us to have so much fun!
We enjoyed working with her so much. She is thorough, professional, and detail-oriented.
Some of our guests even thought "wow that wedding guest is a really helpful coordinator!"

We hired Margo for her month-of management service and it was such a huge help. We both work in politics, so we were busy and stressed and unable to do lots of the planning until 3 weeks until the wedding. Margo was a huge asset to make sure we stayed organized, our vendors were coordinating everything, and we didnt miss one detail. Margo really understood what we wanted and was able to provide advice when we needed it. She stood up for us with vendors and make sure the wedding exceeded all of our expectations. We highly recommend hiring her and will be telling all of our friends about her amazing work! -

Bringing Margo/Bright Occasions on board to help plan our July wedding was the best wedding planning decision we made! From day one, Margo provided us with invaluable service that made the wedding planning process enjoyable, seamless and most importantly fun!! We worked with her for about 14 months and each step of the way she had check-ins, making herself accessible whenever needed. We were amazed at her responsiveness to emails. Everything was always like clockwork, and as a bride, that is refreshing. She was always there to listen to our ideas or dilemmas and provide input and suggestions. She has incredible taste and attention to detail which led to a gorgeous ceremony and reception room! We continuously felt supported, helping us carry out any decision we decided upon as a couple and family to make the wedding our own!
Margo has built a wonderful reputation for herself across the area wedding industry. Everyone we spoke to only had wonderful things to say about her! After working with her, we now know why. I read the recent reviews of Margo and the Bright Occasions team, and I could not agree more with the positive remarks and 5 star rating. I was very hesitant to hire a Wedding Coordinator in general, however upon meeting Margo I quickly changed my mind. My husband and I both agree that it was the best decision that we made throughout the planning process, and I can't imagine having such an enjoyable wedding day without her assistance. Margo is professional, quick to respond, and has such a calming and friendly personality which is so helpful through such an emotional and stressful process. She is very detail-oriented and thoughtful, and took my vision and executed it perfectly.
We used Margo's services for month of and day of coordination and my only regret is that I didn't work with her sooner through the entire design & planning process. We would highly recommend Bright Occasions to anyone and everyone who is planning a wedding! -

My husband and I can't imagine having planned our wedding with anyone else! We worked with Margo Fischer and Bright Occasions for month of plus additional wedding design services and had a truly great experience. Margo was incredibly helpful, responsive, smart and organized, not to mention funny and easy to talk to and work with! It was wonderful working with and getting to know her over the year leading up to our wedding.
Our wedding was at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA, which is not a traditional venue and requires a lot of work in the space (in a short period of time) for wedding set up. It really gave us piece of mind to know that Margo would make sure everything went smoothly! I didn't have to think about or stress over any last minute (or just regular) details--she had it completely under control. If you're considering a month of (or full) planner, Bright Occasions is the way to go! -

We strongly recommend Bright Occasions for wedding planning. After we got engaged, my wife and I were determined to plan an awesome wedding, but we didn't want the planning to take over our lives. Bright Occasions allowed us to accomplish that goal. From our first meeting through till the wedding, Margo was incredibly professional, kind, helpful. She broke down the planning into manageable tasks and helped keep us on track. She helped us identify the right vendors for each part of our special day. She was responsive and always got back to our emails with thoughtful replies, at least within 24 hours, but sometimes within minutes.
Incredibly detail oriented, Margo ensured that each aspect of our wedding received attention. No detail went unnoticed. On the day of the wedding, Margo was with us throughout, and made sure each aspect of our special day went perfectly. We had so much fun at our wedding celebrating with family and friends and we really didn't have to worry about much. We can't thank her enough for her help. If you are looking for a wedding planner, we strongly recommend the Bright Occasions. -

We worked with Margo for partial planning for our July 2016 wedding at The Hay-Adams. If I could, I would give her 10 stars, but WeddingWire limits me to 5!
We interviewed 8 planners in the DC area, and none of them compared to Margo. Her attention to detail, responsiveness, and calm kindness are apparent from the get-go. Margo will keep you organized and on track without ever stressing you out. She gives thoughtful input when asked, but never pushes her own opinion; she wants your ideas and opinions to be the star, and goes above and beyond to make things happen exactly the way you want them to. Best of all, she is SO responsive and easy to work with; you will never have to wonder when she’ll get back to you. We always felt like we were her only clients, even though she was fully booked this summer.
We were planning a DC wedding from out-of-town, and had booked a venue, but needed help with everything else. Margo helped us refine our vision and find the vendors that were right for our budget, aesthetic, and personalities -- perfectly balancing her gentle input with letting us make our own decisions. She kept us on track without ever pressuring us or rushing us. When we got stressed, she empathized and then calmed us down. When we wanted things that didn’t seem do-able, she simply made them happen.
Most remarkable is how Margo stepped up when my mom passed away 4 months before the wedding. Without a word, Margo seamlessly took over the details my mom had been working on, and found ways to quietly make my life easier during that terrible time, including supporting me through the emotional ups and downs of trying to make decisions without my mom. Margo is terrific at her job – but more importantly, she is an amazing, caring person. In a horrible time, she took care of our hearts as much as she did our wedding details.
I can’t say enough good things about Margo. I know you’ll love her as much as we did. -

Margo was the best, she was great for planning and helping with vendors the month before and absolutely necessary on the weekend of. We used her for the last month coordination and she really helped drive the schedule and coordination of all of our vendors; in addition, she made the room look beautiful both for our ceremony and our reception and she brought gifts and photos over to the hotel room after to make it super easy. Booking Bright Occasions was the absolute best decision we made during the wedding planning process! Margo was delightful to work with every step of the way. She kept us on track and helped us think through tough decisions while also ensuring we did what was best for us personally. She had excellent recommendations and often went above and beyond to help us, even when she did not have to. Margo responds to email promptly (its amazing!) and always puts up an out of office message when she is in meetings, so if she didn't respond immediately you always knew why. She is organized, professional and absolutely knows the ins and outs of the DMV wedding industry. Her recommendations were always on point and she really helped us plan our dream wedding.
Most importantly, at least to us, EVERYONE who met her (bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, friends) genuinely thought Margo was the kindest most pleasant wedding planner they had ever worked with. Margo was invaluable in helping make our dream wedding day. I chose Margo after talking to several wedding planners because she really seemed focused on making our wedding “our wedding” rather than encouraging us to have a picture perfect wedding that would be featured in a magazine. I quickly discovered that in the wedding industry, the sky is the limit, but Margo was willing to work with the budget we proposed rather than escalating it for the picture perfect wedding. Of course, we wanted a beautiful wedding, but we wanted the focus our day to be on us and our commitment to each other and the enjoyment of our guests.
Early on, Margo was helpful in making wonderful vendor recommendations and provided a great sounding board for our wedding ideas. There are so many ideas out there on pinterest and other online sites and hundreds of wedding vendors in the area, so it is easy to get lost in the process. Margo created a planning and budget schedule that really helped us stay on target. She was great about suggesting traditional ways weddings are done and open to ideas when we wanted to go off the beaten path.
Come wedding day, Margo was calm and organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. She was unobtrusive, letting us enjoy the day, stepping in just enough to keep the day flowing, then quickly stepping out of the limelight. It was wonderful having her there so that my fiance and I and our families could fully participate in the day rather than focusing on orchestrating the event.
In the end, I think our wedding was the perfect mix, filled with love and meaningful touches and exuding a classy, romantic elegance worthy of any magazine. Every bride wants to feel that her wedding is the perfect wedding, and Margo really helped make that happen.

Everyone who has worked with Margo will surely praise her organization, attention to detail, and professionalism. Let me add this: What impressed me most about Margo was how well she understood me and the kind of wedding I wanted. I presented a challenge as a bride—I'm laid back, allergic to details and planning, and get annoyed about spending money on things like, uh, flowers, yet I wanted an exquisite and tasteful wedding. I feel like Margo grasped this all very quickly. I decided to pay her for design services as well as coordination, which was probably one of the best decisions I ever made. Unless you plan major events on the regular, you just really don't know how many tables and chairs are needed, how to set them up, how to create a vibe through color and fabric and decorations. I wanted everything to look chic, and I didn't want to do any of it myself. Margo handled it perfectly. I *enthusiastically* recommend her. -

Margo was the first vendor we booked after our venue (though we met with her even before the venue was set), and we could not have been happier with the result. Although Margo was our coordinator (not planner), she was always available to answer questions (big or small) by email (How do we address invitation envelopes? When do ceremonies usually start?). When we handed off coordination to her several weeks before the wedding, it was such a relief -- we knew everything was in good hands! And, we are still getting compliments from wedding guests about Margo. I'm still hearing stories of how she fixed the little things (that I knew nothing about) throughout the day -- repairing my mother-in-law's shoe, keeping the small children out of the reserved seats in the front row of our ceremony, etc. She had a great relationship with all of our other vendors (whether she worked with them before or not), and we really appreciated that too. I cannot emphasize how wonderful it was to have a stress-free wedding day -- so much of that was because of Margo! -

What can I say about Margo? Well, to start, she is AMAZING and was "our rock"!!!!!! My finance and I used Bright Occasions for partial planning services, and we couldn't recommend Margo more highly. She is a true professional through and through. Before we hired Margo, we were overwhelmed with trying to plan a wedding in DC. After hiring Margo, we felt like we didn't have to worry about a thing. She made me feel at ease throughout the entire process with both her professionalism and her demeanor, and on the day of the wedding, she was everything advertised and more. My father-in-law had the best description of Margo after the wedding rehearsal - "That girl knows how to make the trains run on time!" Margo was hands down the best decision we made. We got way more than we paid for - from fantastic wedding vendor suggestions that fit us and our budget to intrinsically understanding us and what we were looking for in our wedding. Margo is the best. Hands down, she was the force behind the scenes that kept everything going. Throughout planning our wedding, I was going through medical school so did not have a lot of time to do much of anything. I hired Margo, and she did a beautiful job of suggesting the most wonderful vendors. She helped craft my wedding into a dream wedding, with our input and within the budget that we planned. Margo is meticulous, responsive, so professional, never late (we were always late, on the other hand), and everything that you could hope or wish a planner to be. I would joke to my friends that "Margo is now essentially my best friend!" - but she really does become a friend. She's also great at calming you out if you are freaked out about anything. I would recommend her for anything you need that is wedding related, if anything for more of a peace of mind! -

Margo was hands down the best vendor we had the opportunity to work with! We hired her for the "Partial Wedding Coordination" which included full time hands-on planning from one month prior to the wedding. She was available the year before to answer any questions about etiquette and logistics about the wedding. She was the most responsive vendor. She would reply back to emails in a few minutes, or if she was away at meetings or at another wedding, an away message would be sent to you. She is very detail oriented and her wedding checklist is customized to fit your needs. I did not feel stressed out at during the wedding planning. She has a gift of being able to politely get people where they need to be on time. Our wedding ran smoothly and was on time. Right after the wedding she delivered the gifts and decor items directly to our hotel door. Margo even returned my cake stand inserts all the way to Alexandria for me while we were on our honeymoon because she happened to be in the area. Everything she states in the contract is fulfilled and then some. She went above and beyond and fully exceeded my expectations. She is definitely worth every penny. I would be so lost without her. -

She took care of everything for us--budget, planning and day-of schedule, vendor selection, contract negotiations, booking hotel block, creating wedding website, guiding us thru registry process, decorating venue, troubleshooting, and much, much more. There were so many details that would not even have occurred to us without her and really made a huge difference how things went. Margo is wonderful to work with and I really cannot imagine our wedding without her. She is incredibly responsive (no email goes unanswered more than a couple minutes), provided invaluable advice about so many details I would never have thought of, and is overall extremely pleasant and easygoing (which is important when things get stressful!) Margo was hands down the best thing that happened to our wedding.
From day one, Margo made an incredibly stressful process as stress-free as possible, and was patient with us throughout our year of planning. After getting to know us, she first helped us come up with a timeline for planning and made sure we stayed on track right until the wedding day. We planned the majority of our wedding from out-of-state, and Margo was there by email, phone, or Skype whenever we had questions or needed reassurance. She also provided the same level of responsiveness to our parents whom she worked with in planning our rehearsal dinner. She was very conscious of our budget throughout and was able to recommend vendors whom she trusted and fit within our means. She also helped us set up meetings with them when we were in town and negotiate contracts. In the end, we had great experiences with all of our vendors.
Margo has an incredibly calming presence which is catching to those around her, and that was so helpful to us and our families before and during the wedding. She coordinated the arrival, set up, and clean up of all vendors at the hotel beforehand and at our ceremony site so that everything flowed smoothly. If anything went wrong that day, she handled it without us knowing.
It is clear that Margo loves her job and is an expert in her field. She truly went above and beyond, and I can't think of anything she didn't offer to help us with. She's kind, caring, dedicated, and assertive when needed and you should absolutely choose Margo and Bright Occasions for your wedding! -

Margo was a godsend. As a couple on a budget, we weren't sure that hiring a planner/coordinator was going to be the best use of our limited funds, but Margo was well worth her (reasonable) price. In fact, I'm sure she paid for her self in helping us establish (and stick to) a budget, to help us prioritize what aspects of the wedding were important to us, and to only recommend vendors that were within our budget. Throughout the process she was such a source of knowledge, expertise, and ideas. She was also incredibly responsive--always responding to texts, emails, and calls whenever we needed her. It truly felt like we were the only wedding she was planning (and we knew for a fact that she had so many clients besides us!) Being the two incredibly busy people that we are, Margo helped us stay on track with all of our tasks, and did so in a way that was encouraging and not pushy. The wedding went off without a hitch, and that would not have been the case without her. She truly became a friend through the process and we've already recommended her to others planning weddings in the DC/MD/VA area. We recommend her without reservation. -

Margo was an absolute pleasure to do business with. We can't say enough great things about her! From the very beginning she was available by phone and email... even though we had only hired her as a day of coordinator. Her planning templates and other documents were incredibly helpful while planning the event.
She had my husband and I over to her office to get to know us better and created a seamless timeline for our wedding day. 6 weeks before, she had everything under control with the vendors and the venue. She was a saving grace a week before the wedding when we had to find a new photog and immediately had a list of respected and well known phtogs in the area for us to reach out to.
At both the rehearsal and the wedding day, she was extremely polite and patient with all of our family and guests. Guests during dinner asked me how I pulled off such a lovely event, and my response was simple. "Margo. I could not have done it without her. She's amazing!"
Margo truly went ABOVE and BEYOND what I expected all while being so professional yet approachable too. If you want your special day to be flawless, put your trust in Margo. -

Hiring Margo was one of the best decisions we made throughout the wedding planning process. We were wavering as to whether or not to hire a day of coordinator but could not be happier that we did. Margo is extremely organized, responsive and best of all a friendly and nice person.
After sitting down with us to create a thorough and superb timeline, she reached out and spoke to all of our vendors to make sure they had reviewed the timeline and make sure none of them had any potential concerns or questions. She was our "day of coordinator" but was open to answering any questions we had beforehand and gave great advice as well.
On the day of the wedding Margo kept us on schedule, set up for the ceremony, directed us everywhere we needed to be and dealt exclusively with all of the vendors. If there were any issues I didn't hear about them! Everything turned out perfectly and my husband and I were able to just enjoy the day instead of worrying about the details. We would highly recommend Margo! -

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Newton White Mansion. Margo was my wedding planner for the day. Margo did an AMAZING job in ensuring that I had the best day of my life. The absolute BEST investment we made in our wedding was hiring Margo. She is calm, organized and adjusts incredibly well to changing circumstances!
We had less than 6 months to plan a perfect wedding, and we could not have done it without Margo's help. She was the only vendor I could 100% count on to get back to me within 24 hours - even when I was emailing her daily! This is a godsend to any bride, but especially to one working with an accelerated timeline. Beyond being reliable, she has a presence that no one else had. Wedding planning is stressful on couples- especially in the last few days before the event when people are canceling last minute, or others you weren't expecting to show up all of a sudden do - but Margo has a unique calmness to her that you will not find in anyone else. Her voice alone will melt the stress you are feeling. Even my maid of honor, who had never met her before, was incredibly impressed by how relaxed and at ease Margo made everyone the morning of the wedding.
On our wedding day, I never once had to look at a schedule or timeline or clock - Margo had it all under control and gave me gentle updates through the evening ("in 5 min we will do the father daughter dance") so that I could make sure my makeup was ready, or that I wasn't in the bathroom when they called me to the dance floor. This made our wedding completely relaxed and enjoyable - we knew that she had it all together and wouldn't let us down. She also made sure that I ate and had a glass of wine - I probably wouldn't have remembered to have either if it hadn't been for her!
Margo is an incredible person with a beautiful talent. Do not have your wedding without her!!! She will be your favorite guest there! :) -

I can't recommend Margo from Bright Occasions enough!! She was absolutely incredible, a total wedding saver. When my husband and I began planning our wedding the first thing we created was a budget that did not include an event planner. We figured we had over a year to plan and that we would be able to organize the vendors and details on our own....wow were we wrong. One of my bridesmaid recommended Margo to me a month prior to the wedding when I was feeling like even though our vendors were booked there so much left to do and we couldn't handle it alone. Luckily, Margo agreed to help us, we only wish we had contacted her sooner, it would've saved us so much stress and time! Even though it rained the day of our wedding and our outdoor ceremony had to be moved indoors Margo made sure everything looked perfect. I had only provided Margo a vague idea of how I wanted our reception set up but she was able to create exactly what I had imagined. Margo handled everything the day of the wedding from coordinating vendors arrivals and departures to directing our ceremony. Above all Margo is very kind person and enjoyable to work with. -

Margo is soft spoken and incredibly friendly and I was initially a little worried that she wouldn't be assertive enough to orchestrate our multi-site wedding. It became clear almost immediately that that was a very silly worry. Margo took charge right after our first planning meeting and, as it turns out, these qualities just make her a dream to work with.
At our planning meeting, Margo created a timeline for us and corrected vendor arrival times (this averted a huge disaster, so I was more than thrilled before we even got started with the wedding weekend). Day of, she kept me at ease all day, putting out fires that I was never even aware of until later (apparently our groomsmen are a bunch of dopes). Every time I saw her, she was so calm that it was almost unreal. At your wedding, things will go wrong. If you hire Margo, she will deal with them like the badass goddess of zen that she is.
When I say she went above and beyond, I really mean it. When I say she ACTUALLY cared about every aspect of our wedding and that I could tell she really really loves what she does, I mean it.
I think it speaks volumes that I'm sitting down at my computer literally TWO DAYS after our wedding to type up this review. Honestly, I would have started writing it in the middle of the wedding reception had I had my head on straight enough to compose it - that is how happy I am with her work.
Simply put, I would hire Margo again in a heartbeat, but being that she focuses solely on wedding planning, I hope I don't have the opportunity, so I'm recommending her to you. ;)

I hired Margo for day of wedding coordination for my wedding in November and couldn't have been happier. When I started planning my wedding, I felt I could handle the color coordination, organization, details and fun wedding ideas on my own, but I really needed someone to help me on the actual day of my wedding. I was only engaged for 8 months, (a flash in wedding time) and sometimes felt I didn’t have time to think. Margo was just an email away ready to answer any of my questions. As a bride, there a million things going at once on the big day and I wanted to enjoy it stress and worry free. I am SO glad I had Margo by my side to handle the timeline, wedding party and any last minute changes. She truly has a calming effect on people. She went above and beyond my expectations. The morning of my wedding she came to check on me to make sure everything was in order, drove to the groomsmen to help with their boutonnieres, and most importantly set up all the details at the reception. Since we held our wedding ceremony and reception at a synagogue, we decided we needed a “day-of” planner to ensure things ran smoothly (and without our intervention). We are so grateful we hired Margo as our planner because she was very flexible and helped to ease our anxiety. She was responsible, reliable, and knowledgable. Margo provided wonderful suggestions and ideas for our ceremony and reception. She was always available to chat by phone, text message, or through email. Margo met with us and our caterer at our venue and helped us create a wedding day timeline and she helped us decide how to use the venue space. Margo spoke directly with all of our vendors to coordinate final details and reviewed the vendor contracts with us. The day of our wedding, she arrived long before the ceremony time and immediately went to work making sure everything fell into place. She brought an assistant, Rachel, who was friendly and helpful. They set up our chuppah cover and it looked beautiful. Margo made sure we stayed on schedule throughout the day. She helped coordinate family photos and our ketubah signing. When it was time for the main ceremony, Margo arranged the bridal party and gave clear instructions for the processional and recessional. During the reception, Margo stayed in contact with our caterer and dj and made sure everything ran smoothly. She was the last person to leave the synagogue after helping to clean up and make sure all of our belongings and supplies were packed for us. She was simply delightful, relaxed, and on-top of every part of our wedding for the entire day. We highly recommend Margo to anyone looking for an organized, creative, and proactive wedding planner.

We hired Margo as our day of coordinator but she did so much more than that. I planned the majority of the wedding myself but knew that I wanted to be stress-free on wedding day and that is exactly what I was! Margo handled everything. She is defeinitely experienced and knew exactly what needed to be done. She ran our rehearsal, set up our centerpieces and ceremony things. She made sure that someone had all of our things at the end of the night. Se took care of pre-wedding stuff like vendor confirmation. She even saved our centerpieces by using some votives she happened to have when the ones I ordered did not arrive in time for wedding day. Margo was just spectacular and more than anything else she is just so nice. My family commented on how just genuinely nice she was through the rehearsal and wedding. I whole heartedly recommend Bright Occassions. My day would not have gone as smoothly if Margo was not a part of it. -

We hired Margo as our day-of coordinator about a year before our wedding. However, Margo went above and beyond what we hired her for. From day one, she encouraged me to email her questions I had about the wedding. She always responded, whether via email or phone, extremely promptly and was always incredibly friendly. I felt as though I was chatting with a close friend.
In the couple of months leading up to the wedding, I worked even closer with Margo. We had a planning meeting and a walkthrough at my wedding site. Margo was always “on the ball.” She came to every event with notes from our previous conversations. I considered myself a nervous bride, but Margo always made me feel extremely comfortable. She was kind and respectful, listening to all of my concerns and questions, and taking them seriously by offering professional advice. Margo always made me feel like I was her number one priority.
I cannot stress how helpful Margo was in the weeks before the wedding. Margo put together a wonderful wedding day timeline (which, by the way, she helped us stick to perfectly!) and would email me gentle reminders of tasks I had outstanding. She was incredibly instrumental in helping me coordinate with my vendors. When I had a hard time reaching my officiant, Margo took it upon herself to call him, and within the day I heard back from him.
Margo is a great wedding planner because she is calm, collected, and has an incredibly friendly demeanor, yet she commands respect in moments of stress. For example, moments before our ceremony began, our eight grandparents wanted to change their ceremony entrance, and Margo swiftly got everyone’s attention and executed the change perfectly.
I should also that on the wedding day, I also gave Margo a massive "to-do" list. I did not think it was humanly possible to complete every last thing on that list, but Margo did. Her performance was flawless and she was never intrusive.

I had interviewed a few other wedding coordinators but Margo seemed so on the ball, arriving at our free consultation prepared with a sample wedding plan. Plus she made me feel so comfortable as soon as we met. I just knew she and I would work well together (though she did most of the work!). She dove right in and got things in order while maintaining a naturally calm demeanor. She continuously sent me gentle reminders of the tasks I needed to accomplish. Margo was our Day of Coordinator for our October 13, 2012 wedding. I wanted to plan the entire event myself, but I knew I would need help on the day of the wedding, and I found that and so much more in Margo. My Mother and I essentially handed over the timeline and giant to-do list to Margo in the weeks leading up to the big day. My mom and I put a great deal of trust in her to carry out the many details we had spent months planning...and she went above and beyond to make our dreams a reality! From the beginning, Margo went way beyond what she had been hired to do, and was more than happy to offer advice and recommendations to me throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, she came early and stayed late and was truly an asset in making our day the amazing event that it was. Margo set up our many detailed decorations, kept everything running smoothly and on schedule, just as we had talked about and run through prior to the wedding. Margo also handled the management of our timeline so effortlessly...ensuring that I never had to worry about what time it was or what was supposed to happen next. For my wedding, Courtney's role was day-of coordinator and I can't express how much this investment was worth. She tackled all requests and helped make sure our vision was executed by our venue and vendors. Her love of weddings shines through with her professionalism and organization. When I tore my dress (and bustle) on my first step down the aisle, she was right there to help mend and fix my dress. Courtney's presence took so much stress out the day and having someone to help you with all the last minute details or handling the inevitable mishaps or oversights is invaluable. Courtney and Margo were absolutely wonderful to work with! From the very beginning to beyond our sparkler exit, they guided us through the whole process and made sure that we did everything we had to do. They handled coordination of our vendors for months, making my life so much easier. The day-of went absolutely seamlessly and I did not have a care in the world and was able to enjoy every moment without any worries. Would definitely recommend them for partial wedding planning! -

We loved working with Margo for our wedding. Even though we only had a partial planning contract with her, she went above and beyond. She had great recommendations on vendors, spent tons of time with us, was very patient with our many moments of indecision, and flawlessly executed our vision. And she is a wonderful, calm presence --- someone you'll enjoy spending the many hours of planning with, and having there to help on your wedding day! -
