Absolutely loved working with the ladies at Bridges By young in the Chicagoland location! They had a dress I saw on Instagram and was able to pull it for my appt! They also pulled a few others similar and then not so similar to it so I got a great idea of what I liked! The ladies were so great throughout my appt and I looked amazing on the day of!

Felt like a princess
I absolutely loved my dress and my experience at Brides by Young (I went to the NJ location). The person I worked with listened to what I wanted and came back with 7 dresses to try within my budget. It was a hard choice because she did a great job picking them but I ended up going with the first one she had me try on! I felt like a princess and I felt comfortable the whole time- I loved that I didn't have to worry about the samples being too small for me (street size 18/20, bridal size 22/24). She also helped me pick a beautiful veil to go with the dress. There was plenty of room for my mom and three friends to comfortably see the dresses I tried on and the person I was working with was very attentive to how I was feeling and did a great job fielding other people's reactions. She also helped me find the perfect bra to go with my dress!

My experience at Brides by Young in Rochelle Park was great. From the moment I stepped into the salon, I knew I was in good hands.
The selection of wedding dresses was impressive, and the stylist was incredibly attentive, helping me find the perfect dress that matched my vision. When I found "the one," it felt like it was made just for me.
Farzaneh did a phenomenal job on my alterations and even gave me her phone number in case I needed to contact her, as I lived a ways away from the location.

I felt welcomed from the time I entered until my last pick up from the store. Excellent, You will never forget Saying Yes to the Dress.
I enjoyed every moment. They made the experience everything a girl dreams of when trying on dresses with her sisters and mother. My consultant was so helpful and sweet. I was able to tell her what I was looking for and by the second try on I said yes to the dress. To be a 350lb girl that was the best part. They have dresses in sizes 22,24,26,28,30 which means I was able to see try on a dress and see how it actually fits. Thank You I don’t plan on looking for another wedding dress but I will recommend you all for all my plus size brides.

Both of my older sisters used Brides by Young to find their perfect dress, so i knew i wasn't going anywhere else! I absolutely loved my wedding dress shopping experience, which i was not expecting to! Our consultant Kate was so friendly, patient, knowledgable and encouraging. She asked what i was envisioning, and found dresses for me to try on that were incredible. Each time, she asked me what i liked and didn't like, and we narrowed it down to the PERFECT dress i could have ever dreamed of. She put my hair into a quick, cute updo, put on a veil, and gave me a bouquet so i could see the final look. I immediately started crying and knew it was the one! I ended up buying a belt and veil through them as well, and everything was about a THIRD of the budget i had given myself for the dress, so i was thrilled about that! i recommend this place to everyone!!!

I shopped at the Indianapolis Brides by Young location in March and couldn't have had a better experience. The day I called to schedule my appointment, the staff told me how to prepare and what to bring with me. She really put my mind at ease about my first dress shopping experience as a plus sized bride. I arrived at my appointment and as soon as I walked in the door, Kate knew who I was. We discussed budget and what I was (and wasn't) looking for in a dress and she got started pulling samples. Every single one that she chose was beautiful and met my criteria. She made me super comfortable while trying dresses on and continuously complimented me and hyped me up during the process. I ultimately wound up going with a beautiful Eddy K gown that was the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted. My dress arrived 5 months later (a month earlier than expected) and the shop called me right away. I went in for my fitting the following week and was treated with the same kindness by that day's employee, whose name I unfortunately don't remember. I can't say enough good things about Brides by Young and recommend them every chance I get. I want a wedding re-do just so that I can shop with them again!

I had a fabulous experience at Brides by Young. They were super accommodating and very invested in finding the right dress for me. I wasn’t even planning on getting a dress that day, but Chelsea had me try on a few dresses, listened to what I liked and didn’t like about them, and came out the perfect wedding dress. She was a rock star! I loved being able to try on all sorts of styles without worrying about if the sample dress would fit or if I could order it in my size. Lauren and all the gals at Brides by Young made my dress shopping experience perfect! I was able to go during a sample sale and they made me feel so welcome, were really understanding and accepting of my budget, and asked all the right questions about what kind of dresses I was interested in. Lauren convinced me to try one on that was a style I liked but not the color I thought I wanted. I was skeptical and the second it was on I knew it was the perfect dress for me! They were just the right amount of encouraging regarding buying accessories (e.g. veil, headpiece; not overly pushy) and I ended up buying a beautiful headpiece from them as well. It was so great to try on dresses that actually fit my plus size body and my experience was just joy-filled from start to finish. Thanks Brides by Young - highly recommend!

The best experience I could have asked for
Full disclosure, I was nervous going into my bridal gown appointment. I had visions of attempting to stuff myself into a gown not made for my shape and not being able to find anything I liked. Brides by Young shattered that negative perception I had of this experience. I worked specifically with Lauren - who was incredible - but every employee I've interacted with there has been wonderful. Lauren assisted me personally with all the necessary underpinnings - of which there are many - and gave me choices that aligned exactly with what I was looking for. I ended up purchasing a stunning long-sleeved Pronovias for my winter wedding and I still receive compliments on it. I strongly recommend Brides by Young to all my fellow curvy ladies - you won't find a better experience!

I got my dream dress at BBY! Kate was fantastic and selected gorgeous dresses for me to try, including the one I've been drooling over for weeks -- and the sample was actually my size! I've had significant weight gain in the last few years from medical issues and I'd been dreading dress shopping because I'm def not a size 2, but being able to try on my dream dress in my size was amazing. What a great experience. After visiting a "not so super store", working with Kate was the best. The store has a wonderful ambiance and the overall experience was exactly what I needed. Kate took time to talk to me about my visions, my wants, and what I wanted to avoid. She added her input, based on her years of experience, and picked out some amazing dresses for me to try on. I really enjoyed not having to go through racks and racks of dresses. She took her time getting me in each dress to make sure I got the full vision. Third dress in and we found a winner. I had a great time at Brides by Young! Allie is a newer consultant, but she knew right away the best styles and fits for me. She listened to what I wanted and has a great sense of style--she's a natural! The entire experience was fantastic, and Brides by Young walked me through the entire process without feeling rushed or pushed to choose something right away. They let me come back and try on some more dresses to show my friends and family who couldn't attend my first appointment, even though I had already picked out "The One". I went dress shopping with the intention of just browsing and making a purchase at another date. I had already had one semi-successful but underwhelming appointment of the day. I had no expectations going in, but immediately changed my perspective. Allie listened to all of my ideas and pushed me to think outside the box. I tried on several beautiful dresses, and even had one that I was really leaning towards. Allie could tell I wasn't fully sold, so she brought out one more dress... it's been two days, and I'm still dreaming about it! I fell in love immediately, and she and Kate helped me to find the right accessories to go along with it, even helping to style my hair to give me more of an idea of how it would all look. I cannot thank these girls enough for their individual attention and thought that they put into the whole day, even as the store got busier with more clients. I ended up buying a dress, and cannot wait for it to come in! I would recommend Brides by Young to anyone looking for a dress, especially if you think your size is going to limit you. I can not express how happy I was with Brides by Young. Being a self-proclaimed "big girl" it's discouraging trying on dresses that don't fit, and it's understandable that not all bridal boutiques have all size dresses..........BUT you will not have the problem at Brides by Young. Not only were the dresses outstanding, but my consultant, Lauren, was out of this world! She was able to pick out the perfect dress that I didn't even know I was looking for by listening to what I said and also what I didn't say. I will definitely recommend Brides by Young to any other bride for her special day.

I really just need to take a minute to put into words the experience that I had at Brides by Young with consultant, Chelsea.
I had two appointments yesterday. The first was at David’s bridal. It was chaotic, over crowded, under staffed. The dressing room was super small and didn’t have a mirror inside. I was almost uncomfortable walking out of the dressing room because there were so many people with their eyes on me before I could even see what I looked like in the dress I had on. It just wasn’t what I imagined trying on wedding dresses would be.
I went to Brides by Young after that. They were running a little behind with their appointments but I didn’t even mind. The atmosphere was SO much different. The girls were all so nice and ready and willing to help.
The dressing room was large with a huge mirror. The space was sectioned off so that only the people that I brought with me could see me.
My consultants name was Chelsea and you guys, she is AMAZING at her job. If there was something I didn’t like about a dress she magically made it disappear or changed the way it looked completely. And when I found THE dress she said to me, “I want to really do you up with this one.” She handed me earrings and flowers, found a veil I loved and she even did my hair. You guys, she did my hair! And I stood there on that pedestal and looked at myself in the mirror and cried. It was such an amazing experience and everything that wedding dress shopping should be and more.
Brides by Young will be my recommendation to anyone looking for their dream wedding dress and amazing customer service.

I flew to Indianapolis from Denver in hopes of finding my perfect dress, and Brides by Young did not disappoint!!! They were my first and only stop for my dress and I couldn’t be more thrilled!!! My mom and I drove up from the Louisville area and I would do it again in a heart beat, Chelsea was amazing!! She listened to what I was hoping for, made me feel super comfortable the whole time, and helped me find my perfect dress!! I would recommend anyone and everyone to go see her and let her work her magic to find you your dream dress!

I was terrified to go dress shopping. Being a heavy woman trying to feel beautiful in a bridal gown left me without very high hopes. My mom and I drove the almost 2hrs up to BBY, and it was SO WORTH IT! The shop is huge, beautiful, clean with a huge selection of dresses. Lauren was attentive, got to know what my wedding was about, my style, what I wanted and took all of that and picked me out a bunch of gowns! They were all beautiful and I did end up buying from BBY! The trying on and discussing details with Lauren was such a pleasure! She's kind and hilarious and a perfect wedding consultant. She really seemed to be able to tune in to what I wanted and what would look good on me. She made sure to give me the full on bridal look, which I appreciated! In the moment I tried on my gown, my size and shape didn't matter because I felt gorgeous! I genuinely wish this kind of experience for every bride!

I had not planned on finding "the dress" when I was at the store last week, but after a disappointing venture to another shop that morning, I was ready to feel beautiful. I met Lauren at a bridal show early in October and felt so comfortable talking with her, that I was excited to finally get to the store with my mom, MIL, and two bridesmaids in tow. Lauren took the time to listen to what we have envisioned for our wedding, what I felt I needed my gown to have, and also what I may have seen that I liked. She selected all the gowns, which were gorgeous, but just didn't hit the mark for me, including the ones I thought would look amazing on me or had what I wanted (my team loved them, of course, lol). We talked some more as I was modeling a gown and she grabbed another that became THE ONE! I can not say enough great things about Lauren, and Chelsea, who was a great help while learning the ropes. I look forward to working with Lauren and the Brides by Young team going forward as we pay off the gown and order/receive it!

I had the best experience at Brides by Young. I honestly dreaded looking for my wedding dress. Then my mom talked me in to checking them out. The staff was wonderful. I didn’t feel like I was trying to squeeze myself into a size 8 dress, when I’m a size 16. Everything fit better. I would recommend Brides by Young to anyone shape or size. This review doesn’t do the experience I had justice!

Lauren was amazing to work with. It was absolutely amazing to walk into a bridal salon and not feel like the fat girl. Everything could be tried on and made to my size (refreshing when most other bridal stores only carry a size 14 in stores). Lauren was so great to work with and have great recommendations. I ended up purchasing the first dress I tried on (per Laurens recommendation). It looked perfect and flattered my shape so well. I felt beyond gorgeous on my day. Highly recommend.

My review is for their Schaumburg location in Illinois. My appointment with Kari was amazing! The team at Brides by Young seriously knows how to make a woman feel her best. Their boutique is small, with only four dressing rooms and essentially two areas for seating to be shared by two dressing rooms, but it doesn't seem as though they like to take more than two groups in the salon at one time so that they can give their full attention to the brides they are working with. Being a larger bride is intimidating all in it's own but the gowns here are all in sample sizes that were even too big for me which isn't something I ran into at other salons (in a good way, trust me) Trying to squeeze into a size 8 sample when you're a street size 14-18 doesn't really make for an experience where you feel your best. The gowns they offer are all from well known, reputable designers. I ended up choosing a gorgeous Pronovias gown that I could have only dreamed about before. They even worked out a payment plan and were able to extend me a small discount which made my dress more affordable. I have and will continue to suggest this salon to people looking for bridal gowns.

I am so happy that I made the decision to go to Brides by Young in Schaumburg, IL. I had met one of their consultants at a bridal show.
I am a 16P in street clothes, so I knew that I would be plus size in bridal. Plus, being petite I was looking for a vendor that could order a shorter length to minimize alteration costs. Sabina was fabulous about wanting to understand my vision for my wedding, as well as my vision for my dress. The whole experience was awesome, as the gowns fit me (or were too big). This made a big difference in trying on the dresses (versus seeing a dress that you are squished into and cannot see the vision).
I highly recommend Brides by Young in Schaumburg if you are plus size in bridal.

My dress from Brides by Young was gorgeous!!! It fit like a glove, was incredibly comfortable and the tea length bottom was perfect for dancing!!! The only problem I have with Brides by Young is that they have so many incredible gowns to choose from that makes it hard to pick just one! The staff is great to work with and the shop is beautiful! Definitely make it one of your stops!

This place is fabulous! If you want to feel like all focus is on finding you the perfect dress this is the place to go to. I worked with Lauren who not only has a great personality but is wonderful at her job. I was really impressed that she remembered my story and our experience together (which was pretty quick because I walked out with the first dress she picked), she displayed a genuine interest and excitement when it came to sharing photos of my bouquet. And I swear, she was almost more excited than me when it came to picking up and trying on my dress. If you're a bigger girl who wants to feel special, remembered and encouraged while finding your dress come here, if you're looking for run of the mill & ignored go to David's Bridal.

My first visit to Brides by Young in Schaumburg was very disappointing. My stylist and I were not a good match and couldn't get on the same page. I left feeling down and thought that I really would have found a dress at this dream salon. When I called the salon and expressed this to Kari, she listened, apologized for the experience, and offered to take me herself to make it right. In between those two appointments I visited other salons and felt more and more that the dress I wanted wasn't going to be out there. I went to the appointment with Kari feeling apprehensive and by the end of it I found my dream dress, purchased it, and am the happiest bride ever with no regrets. She listened to my thoughts, doubts, and dreams and found the dress that was perfect in every way. I am glad I went back and gave them another shot because it was everything I dreamed of in a bridal dress experience!!! I will recommend them, especially Kari, to every other plus size bride I know!!! Thanks ladies!

We drove up from Bloomington to find my dress. Brides by Young happened to be the first stop out of 4 places. Brides by Young was AMAZING! She was enthusiastic and friendly, I felt like I've known her forever. She asked me about what type of dress I am looking for, my venue, etc. I showed her pictures of the Tivoli Theater where we are getting married,, showed her my pinterst account, and said that I like fitted gowns, but they don't look great on me. I love sparkle, and some lace. She pulled some gowns, let me pick out a few, and put me in the first dress! During fittings, I loved talking with her. She was supportive, made sure my wants were heard, and talked about interests that she noticed on my pinterest board. She said it was her first thought when I told her all about my wedding! It ended up being the one that I fell in love with!

I had an outstanding experience at Brides by Young. I started planning my wedding about 6 months out from the date and did not start shopping for dresses until about 5 months out. I was worried about the shortened timeline, but Lauren at Brides by Young was extremely helpful and together we found my perfect dress. I showed her a couple images of the style of dress that I was interested in and she picked several for me to try on. Eventually, I decided on a dress that I felt would be perfect for the style I wanted. Lauren was friendly, patient, and accommodating, and was completely dedicated to helping me find the best dress in the best color. My dress was made and ready to be picked up quicker than I expected and when I tried it on, it felt as if the dress was designed just for me. The only alterations that I had to make were to the length of the sleeves, but every other part of the dress fit like a glove.
I am forever grateful to Lauren and everyone else at Brides by Young because this was the dress I had imagined in my mind even before I saw it. Thank you!

This was our last appointment of the day - the last of 10.... We were exhausted and tired of trying on all the wrong dresses. When we came into the Brides by Young, we were greeted with friendly faces and ladies who were more than attentive, and they truly listened to what we wanted in dress to fit our wedding style. The second dress was THE DRESS and we could have been more pleased with our experience. Kieran was wonderful!

Lauren and the ladies at Brides by Young were incredibly helpful. They certainly made me feel special during my dress shopping appointment. Lauren was a wonderful listener as I told her what style I was looking for and what the vibe of my wedding is. Even though I gave her somewhat vague hints at what I wanted to begin with, she seemed to have an intuition about what I would love and what would look good on my body shape. She was clearly knowledgable and experienced as a wedding dress consultant. I honestly kind of loved every dress she had me try on, so it was no surprise that one of the dresses she picked for me to try ended up being the one. Also, the dresses were all of great quality...so much beautiful lace/material and attention to detail in these dresses! The ladies were super accommodating in helping me envision each dress on the special day (i.e. different options on each dress, jewelry to try on, bouquet to hold, veil to try on, etc.) Lauren even did a quick simple braid of my hair to match how I plan to do my hair on the wedding day so I could really imagine how all the looks would come together with my dress. The ladies all made me feel very comfortable with the whole experience and are a fun, bright group to share your dress shopping experience with! They were also all very sweet to my mother who joined me to help pick out my dress. They made sure to include her in the conversations and she was able to have fun too!

I never expected to have such a positive experience in my search for a plus sized wedding dress. I originally had appointments in Cincinnati at the Reading district and after one appointment at Brides by Young I had found the perfect dress and cancelled all my other appointments. I had a very specific style of dress in mind (sleeves) and they had tons of options that were flattering on my body. I wear a size 18 pants and I felt so comfortable in this store. I ended up getting a size 22 dress (which is something I was concerned about in planning my search at non-plus sized stores). Being served by other plus sizes girls made the experience much more comfortable than I had anticipated. Lauren was so friendly and understood exactly what I was interested in trying on. She pulled 5 dresses for me from my description of what I wanted, and they were all great. I ended up paying $1500 for my dress, but the price was increased due to adding length to the front (it was a hi-lo dress & I wanted full length, which they offer for their brides by young line) and a pearl belt. Worth every penny and I can't say enough about this store and Lauren! I had such anxiety going in to this, and it was such a relief having such an easy time finding my dream dress!

All the ladies in the salon are so nice and excited to work with you. I highly recommend listening to the ladies who help you pick out dresses. They can see your body shape and will help you find a perfect fit. I went with a completely different dress than I thought because it was incredibly flattering compared to what I thought I would like. As a plus size woman, it was nice to be able to put these dresses on and not have to "imagine" what they will look like, but see the shape it gives on your body.

Our consultant, Lauren, was amazing. She made the whole party feel welcome and the bride was delighted with the fit and choices of the gowns. Very low drama and delightful experience for all - we were the only ones in the shop for the appointment time and the attention to our bride was amazing. Received a discount for making same day decision but otherwise no pressure to purchase other options such as jewelry. Would highly recommend!

My first experience with wedding dress shopping was terrible. I wasn't getting the help or service I needed. I started searching the Internet for a dress I thought I wanted and found one at Brides by Young. I emailed and bright and early Monday morning I got a response. I quickly called to see if they had an opening that day...they did. I rushed over and Lauren pulled a couple of dresses for me. The one I went in to try wasn't right for my wedding theme. But the 2nd dress was it. I wasn't expecting to find my wedding dress by myself or fall in love so quickly. Lauren let me schedule another appointment that day so my mom could come see the dress and the rest is history. The dresses are a tad expensive but the quality and detail on the dresses make the price worth it. I made the right choice and my wedding day was even more perfect because I was in a dress that I loved all thanks to Lauren and the girls at Brides by Young.

I had an amazing experience at Brides by Young! I am a size 14, but I thought I would try out Brides by Young just to see what they have to offer. Ladies - even if you're on the smaller end of the sizes, you will love Brides by Young because their dresses are made for women with curves! Kate helped me out and made me feel beautiful. She suggested a few dresses for me and suggested the dress that I ultimately chose, which was not a dress I would have picked for myself. The gowns all feel high quality and you will not find a better dress in this price point. Thank you Brides by Young!

I had the absolute most wonderful experience ever at Brides By Young. I'm from Chicago and was having trouble finding plus size bridal shops around me. I did some research and found that Brides By Young was the place to go! I took a road trip to Indianapolis and I was so happy to say I was not disappointed. The staff was very kind and welcoming. I felt like a princess the entire time I was trying on dresses. I felt beautiful and the amazing woman who helped me pick dresses made sure I knew I looked as great as I felt. 10/10 would recommend!! I knew that I wanted a dress that would compliment my curves. After no success at 3 different stores, I walked into Brides by Young, greeted by Lauren, who made me feel right at home and confident that I'd find my dress there. After taking all the time I wanted to pull a few options, I got to put on some of the most beautiful dresses a girl could ask for. I ended up finding the perfect dress there and couldn't have been happier with the salon, the service, the prices, and the most important part - how I felt in my dress. This place was by far the DREAM bridal experience I had always hoped for. Shows like Say Yes to the Dress make you feel like you'll be able to walk into a bridal store and try on any gown you want -- but even if you aren't plus size, sometimes there are only 2 or 3 gowns in store that fit your body that you are able to try on. When I walked into Brides by Young last month, I had just left another bridal salon in tears because nothing in the store would fit me (I'm between a size 16-18) and asked if I could visit BBY without an appointment... on a Saturday morning. The ladies were welcoming and let me come in. The studio itself is a fresh mix of industrial and glamorous details, with great lighting and large sofas and chairs for your party to sit. When I asked my consultant where the sample sizes started on the rack, she told me I could try on any dress I saw. WHAT?! It was an amazing feeling. Suddenly I wasn't guiltily trying to suck in my gut or shame myself for not looking more "bridal," and I was stepping into some of the most beautiful gowns I've ever seen. By dress three, I had found my gown and bought it that day. The gals at Brides By Young made me see myself as a bride, and made my sisters and mom comfortable while they waited. Thank you so much, ladies! I'm sure you'll see my sister in your store soon! If you're a bride 14 or larger and haven't been to this place yet -- GO. Just go. You won't regret it.

I loved my experience here! It's affordable, they work with you, and they made me feel so beautiful. I went in feeling very nervous because I hadn't worn a dress since prom sophomore year and left feeling amazing. I walked right in with no appointment and was seen about 15 minutes later. Not once did I have to decide against any design because of size and I didn't have to try and squeeze into anything and get upset or discouraged. I found the dress of my dreams and paid it off all on my own. I highly recommend this to all thicker girls who are planning on getting married! You wont regret it. The staff is awesome and Lauren is fantastic!

I really enjoyed shopping at Brides By Young. I wear a size 14 in every day clothes and I'm rather busty, trying on dresses in a traditional bridal store was depressing. At Brides By Young, Lauren helped me find my dress, it was completely different than what I thought I wanted or what stylist at other bridal stores had put me in.... she helped me find a dress that is super flattering. I highly recommend them, not only for their knowledgeable staff, but for their prices as well.

I had the BEST experience at Brides by Young! I can not express how AMAZING Lauren was! She knew exactly what type of dresses would look great on me and she pulled several phenomenal dresses! I GOT MARRIED 10.23.15 AND BEFORE MY WEDDING LOOKING FOR A DRESS WAS VERY STRESSFUL! BECAUSE I'm a super plus size bride. I was discouraged on finding a dress and I stumbled upon brides by young in my hometown indianapolis. I had a beautiful experience from start to finish. Brides by Young made my wedding dress shopping the best bridal experience for me ever especially since I'm considered a plus size bride. Thanks for making it a very easy and memorable experience staff was so wonderful and knowing exactly what I was looking for. The pricing is very good and they have a wonderful payment plan. My suggestion would be for any plus size bride to please go check them out in Indianapolis, IN, I live in Chicago and the three hour ride was definitely worth the drive.

Brides by Young is a must go to for any plus size bride!! I was nervous about finding a wedding dress that I would feel beautiful in, yet still be comfortable. After an experience at another bridal salon left me feeling discouraged, Lauren made me feel gorgeous just trying on dresses. She suggested a gown that I would normally not go for, and I would feel uncomfortable in. It was the exact opposite! As soon as I saw myself in the dress, I didn't want to take it off. I truly felt like a bride; beautiful, comfortable, and elegant. I will recommend all of my plus size girl friends to Brides by Young and hope they have the same exceptional service that I received. Size 14 and up I think is bridal size 14 and up.... so don't just think plus size ladies! Average American woman is a size 14 regular which bridal adds 2 sizes generally... so don't shy away thinking this is plus size only! Also, if you are close in size, you can always tailor down in the areas that are smaller if needed. The experience and personal attention are so worth it!
I actually had this appointment scheduled on the same day BEFORE my Alfred Angelo appointment. I was excited about my Alfred Angelo appointment to be honest, because I am getting married at Walt Disney World, and they carry the Disney Collection. So, at first, it was hard to get that out of my head. It is also my personality that I have to just "see" if there is something else before committing. I loved the dress I had on at Brides by Young, even met Young herself, and slightly re-designed part of her dress to fit my personality/style, which was awesome!! But I still left, because I just HAD to see my Disney dress at Alfred Angelo's...but sure enough, "We don't have one you can try on. We can measure you, you pay for it, order it in your size, and it is yours." -- What the what?! Disappointed to say the least. But based on the things I learned during my experience trying on gown at Brides by Young, I knew that gown wouldn't have worked for my body.
I went back to Brides by Young, ordered my custom made/designed dress just for me and it brought me to tears. I feel absolutely amazing in my gown. Exactly how every bride should feel. Now off to marry my prince charming at Walt Disney World in 50 days a counting!

Not only did I have the most fantastic, body-positive experience at Brides by Young (thanks to Lauren!), but they even managed to calm my nerves before I even went because there was a lot of snow, and I was worried they'd be closed! Lauren went above and beyond, from my first contact about the appointment, through the wedding day! My bridal experience was the absolute dream, just like any bride deserves, plus size or not! The staff of Brides by Young knows it all, they even provided referrals for hair and makeup that we ended up using as well. Worth a trip, I can't stress it enough!

Amazing place to buy your gown. They really made a nervous plus size bride more comfortable and knew exactly what would look good on my body. Very mindful of my budget and still found me a great gowm. Highly recommend using Brides by Young.

Lauren is the absolute best! My mom and I stopped in as soon as they opened without an appointment and luckily there was a gap in the schedule to fit me. Lauren really took the time to see what I liked and get to know me instead of turning me loose in the racks to help myself. When trying dresses on, she was honest but kind about what looked flattering and what perhaps wasn't my best look, and she really has a good eye for putting a whole look together. She was never condescending or insincere, which was like a ray of sunshine after squeezing into dresses that didn't fit or "hold it up and imagine what it will look like" situations. Lauren made this process easy and fun, when previously dress shopping had been super stressful. Lauren squeezed in a second visit later that day for me to show the dress to my mother-in-law and make sure I really loved it before I pulled the trigger. After purchasing the dress, Lauren and Brides were responsive to a change I wanted to make--they are excellent at communication and follow-through. I can't wait to get my dress!

I am a plus size girl, and most dress places don't have dresses that fit my size. Brides By Young specialize in plus size wedding dresses. I met Lauren at a bridal show in Indy, and she told me about the grand opening of Brides by Young. She told me that there was nothing like their dresses. I went to their grand opening, and truly no dress has ever fit me like their dresses. I found my perfect wedding dress and was worried about the price, but the staff worked with me and helped me with my budget. I am so excited to work with these ladies. They treated me like a close friend, not like just another client. I really loved everything they did for me.

Fantastic for Plus size brides
Brides by young was fantastic and they helped my wife find the perfect wedding dress, we live in northern Delaware so we had about a 2 hour drive every time we went but we made a trip out of it everytime, the dress made my wife look absolutely snatched, the only thing I would say about this place is they are very pricey, but that’s not an awful thing. I would recommend this place to a plus size bride 10 times over 5/5 stars

Curvy Brides
When shopping for a wedding dress you want to be made to feel beautiful and for a plus size bride that is not easy. Brides by Young did just that though in making my fiancé and I feel like beautiful brides for our wedding. The selection was fantastic and Allie was amazing in helping us narrow down what we wanted. We literally went from no choices at other bridal stores, to having to decide between dresses because we loved so many.

I had a great experience with Brides by Young. They have a great selection of dresses in all sizes. It took about 7 months for my dress after I ordered it. The ladies in the store help you feel comfortable while trying on dresses. My only complaint is that we were not able to stay in my budget at all, but I ended up getting the dress anyway. I would recommend this shop. They allowed me to trade in shape wear that did not fit.

I was so nervous to go try on wedding dresses because I am a plus bride, shopping in itself is hard being plus sized so buying a wedding dress was not something I was looking forward to. Fortunately I was able to find Brides by Young! First, they had tons of dresses to look at online, which allowed me to view and get an idea of what I wanted to look at when to my appointment. When I set my appointment it was only myself in the store, but I felt so comfortable there with my family and friends. I was able to try on multiple dresses, and they were able to show me how different styles looked at me. Then when I found the dress of my dreams, they were amazing to work with to pay the price of the dress. By far an amazing experience from beginning to middle to the end! I can't wait to walk down the aisle in my DREAM wedding dress that I found and feel beautiful in from Brides by Young.

Visiting Brides by Young with my family and bridal party was one of the best decisions I've made. My consultant, Lauren, just got me. She figured out my style, personality, and my shape almost right away. It's more than finding and suggesting dresses. She was able to describe and pinpoint the best parts of each dress, and understood right away what I liked or didn't like about it. My dress was the second one I put on, and there wasn't a doubt in my mind! This is the best place to go for a variety of sample sizes (no "strapping in" like at other places,) and an experience that celebrates brides, not sizes!

Incredible Experience with Brides By Young, Excelled Customer Service and Selection
I was incredibly nervous to try on gowns but my experience at Brides by Young put me completely at ease! Lauren was so helpful and made me feel comfortable and supported while going through the sizing and trying on experience. It turned out that the gown I had spied from one of their designers that was completely different that what I envisioned and had in mind was truly the dress of my dreams! It was the first tried on and all that followed couldn't hold a candle! My mom, sister, and I were all crying tears of excitement and Lauren gave us the time to relish in the experience. After drying tears and putting street clothes back on, Lauren was extremely detailed making sure I understood every step of the ordering process and that my notes included the timing recommendations for alteration appointments at Yong's Alterations. I encourage any Bride who leans toward the curvy or fears not being able to "try on" dresses to make an appointment! You won't be disappointed by the experience!
When my dress came in I was promptly called and able to pickup my dress at the earliest opening to try on. I like that they schedule your pickup so you can try the dress on and ensure there are no issues before taking the dress with you and heading for alterations etc. The dress was everything I remembered and more and the second it was on (and in my actual size) made everything hit me as real. All of the excitement and anticipation came flooding and I couldn't wait! Yong's Alterations was great at taking off some length and adding bustle points. They took care of steaming and making everything gorgeous for my special day! Appreciate that Brides By Young had their reference at the ready to make everything so smooth!

This is a tough review to leave. I had an AMAZING experience with Kate trying on dresses. She got me and picked the perfect dress for me. I live on the east coast so originally had thought about having it shipped straight to me. I am so glad Kate encouraged me to come back in for pickup.
When the shop called, I flew back to Indy (my fam lives there), went to the shop, tried the dress on and it was completely wrong.
The dress was similar, but had a plunging neckline that was not at all what I had tried on. At first, both saleswomen were trying to tug on the dress and tell me I must be wearing a different bra (I wasn't). I imagine that dress regret /bad memory happens often, but I was starting to be a bit annoyed and I pulled out the photos from when I had purchased it (take photos!!). The photos convinced them, they said we'll take care of this, and got Young. They were all really nice and helpful.
Young, the owner, was delightful and agreed it was wrong and explained that I am the first person to buy this dress. Luckily they had also ordered a sample of "my" dress. I was concerned it was a used dress, but they assured me it was brand new (luckily in my size). I was happy though the experience was not what I expected after my amazing first visit.
I thought all was well and good, but am again disappointed. I went to the seamstress this weekend for alterations and she pointed out a quarter-sized chunk of missing lace in a prominent place on the front. By the time I tried the "correct" dress on when I picked it up, I was just so relieved it was the right dress that I didn't inspect it closely (you can see the piece missing in the photo below taken at Brides by Young when I tried it on). The straps also seem to be placed differently , but am hoping that will be worked out with the alterations.
tl;dr Disappointed, but love and would buy the dress again (can't wait to get married in it!). Take photos, inspect the dress carefully, and try it on in store.

A friend of mine got her dress from here. Im in no way a size 2 and was worried about getting my dress. But from the minute you step in you feel like you are not being judge on your body type. They help you find something that will show your fugure and not a burlap bag around you (not going to lie was a little worried about that 🤣🤣). Then with covid I was so worried about my dress getting in on time. I was lucky and it did! I did have time to go get it tailored and everything. I just wish they allowed more for the final fitting. I had to have my mom stay in the car and I think it took away from the moment.

The dresses are beautiful and the staff is wonderful. But be prepared to spend a lot of money. Almost nothing is less than $1000. I was not planning on buying a dress the day I went. Kate was amazing. She was fun and kind. She pulled dress after dress. She paid attention to what I was really looking for. I was the only one shopping in the store which made it nice and intimate.
After about seven dresses Kate brought me a dress I had seen online but didn't think I could pull off. It was beautiful. I cried, my mom cried. It was like a sitcom. I wrote a big check and haven't looked at another dress since. While it was a lot of money I don't regret it at all and I can't wait for my FH to see me in it.

For plus size brides, this is the place to go. The fit is definitely the best when it comes to making you feel like a gorgeous bride, and not just a plus size girl settling for a dress that fits you. The only negative for the experience would be the shipping time. I wish that I would not have given my real wedding date, and instead have given an earlier date to make sure my dress came in with plenty of time. I ordered in November, with my wedding being in August. They gave me a "latest shipment" date of june. Well, it didn't come in until close to the latest shipment day, leaving me stressed about alterations. If I had given an earlier wedding day, then I'm sure the dress could have made it in earlier, words of wisdom for others. Lauren was the best in making sure that dress was what I was wanting, and not just settling. Overall, the experience is the best for a plus size bride.

Disappointed.
When trying on my dress, the sales girl was quite intrusive, seeming to be begging for a sale. I purchased a dress I thought I loved, only to pick it up a few months later and it’s too big, took it to a family seamstress and she can’t adjust it without cutting the dress. There was NO WAY anyone was putting scissors to my dress. Went back to the store and threw a fit. “ we told you it’s hollow to hem, go to xyz seamstress and she will take care of it”. My mother and I went there and sure enough, she pinched it in the right areas like she had seen this dress before. Only problem— I’m a 36DDD and There was no support. She saw it was my concern and did whatever she could to fix it. Excellent price and excellent quality. She really deserves more credit.
