Ah-maze-zing!
I walked into Brides and Grooms with 17 days until my wedding and a high level of anxiety. Marie was BEYOND helpful and reassuring. She pulled a lot of beautiful options that met both my budget and time restrictions and I found the one. She was warm and helpful throughout the entire process. I HIGHLY recommend the Newark location. Ask for Marie. -

Awesome Friendly people
THIS REVIEW Is FOR THE NEWARK, DELAWARE LOCATION. I went to many bridal shops and this one had to be my favorite. All the ladies who worked there were extremely nice, friendly and so down to earth. They were always so helpful and ready to assist at all times. Moriah helped me find the perfect dress and for that ill be thankful for the rest of my life! Essence of Australia makes amazing bridal dresses, worth every penny. -

Brides and Grooms proved a great place to shop
I would definitely recommend Brides & Grooms to my friends & family. They have a very large selection of absolutely beautiful dresses in many sizes. Yong and Hyi were very helpful to me. I found a dress that fits me well and at a very good price. -

I had a wonderful shopping experience here! The sales associate asked me to try on a dress that I never would've tried on my own and I instantly fell in love with the dress. She listened to my budget requests and managed to find my dream dress within my budget. Their prices are very reasonable. I decided to change the dress a bit by adding a belt and they suggested sewing the belt onto the dress which made it much easier on my wedding day. The alterations were perfect! They requested I come back twice because they found little fixes during my fittings. In the end, I received many compliments on how the dress fit like a glove and looked as if the dress was custom made. I would recommend every bride visit! -

The saddest part of my wedding being over is no longer needing to stop into Brides and Grooms on my way home from work. Marie, the owner, is fabulous! The entire staff is supportive, caring, and hysterical. They truly make the dress buying experience fun. You get the "TLC" experience without having to travel terribly far! I can't recommend Brides and Grooms enough! Not only was my wedding dress spectacular, but my bridesmaids dresses came from here too! They looked great! Plus the girls got a discount! Best shop in Delaware! -

I purchased my wedding dress from Brides and Grooms. They provided excellent service when my mother and I were in town. I was given an excellent price on my dress because it was a "sample" dress and I received a discount on my bridesmaid dresses. Alterations turned out great! Overall, I was very pleased with the service and professionalism. -

Sales associate Christina Wang helped me select a formal dress for our daughter's wedding. I came in with an idea of what I wanted and was convinced that I could do much better than that--and she was absolutely right!
Taking her advice--I got a beautiful formal gown, light in weight and comfortable! Many guests complimented me on the gown at the wedding and reception. And I was able to dance all night in it, too!
The alterations to the dress were all done by them--price was reasonable and work was excellent.
They ordered the dress that day, told me when they expected to receive it, contacted me when it arrived, and did the same for the alterations. Very professional--no problems--which with all the rest of the wedding work was huge relief.
I plan to go there whenever I need another gown--they have a huge selection in stock for proms, mother of bride, formal occasions, and of course, wedding dresses! -

My sister and I came from NY, and drove down to Brides and Grooms, because I had put on a little weight after ordering my dress from there, and I was basically in tears after trying on my wedding dress in the size I ordered. Young and Hyi kept repeating I have nothing to worry about, and they were right! I put on the dress and walked in front of them, and they knew exactly what to do. They altered and fixed my dress in one day (my wedding is in a month!!) and I couldn't be happier with the work they did. Young and Hyi have such patience for their customers as I was kinda a wreck... The bridal studio is beautiful and spacious so you can do a little walk and plenty of mirrors to see yourself from every angle.
My wedding is in one month and the only reason I am going to walk down the aisle looking as I always dreamed I would look on my wedding day, is thanks to Young and Hyi. They take such good care of their customers, I would come back anytime. -

Just got back from a weekend trip to Brides and Grooms and I am so glad we came to Yong and Hy for their help!
Yong and Hy are true experts at their craft. They were so kind, knowledgable, and attentive, all our dresses came out perfect! I am so glad to have had their help on all the dresses for my sisters wedding. I wanted my bridesmaid dress a hemmed a little shorter, hemming chiffon is no joke, and it came out PERFECT!! I also needed full cups put in so I wouldn't have to wear a bra, and they let me choose what type from an assortment.
In addition to the wonderful service, my sister was able to waffle back and forth over veils, hair pieces, shoes, all the accessories. Yong and Hy were with us every step of the way, really helping my sister get exactly what she wanted.
I will certainly be coming back for my wedding, and highly recommend their beautiful studio! If I ever have a daughter, I will be back for her prom dress too! If I could give them 10 stars I would! -

We were here for prom dresses. We found many dresses to choose from at Brides and Grooms. However, I do think the heavens opened up and the Angels began to sing when my daughter tried on THE dress. I felt so comfortable and was beyond impressed with the customer service. I would hope everyone gives this store a shot. My daughter was looking for a particular style and she not only got the perfect dress but had about 5 dresses that would have worked just fine. The person who helped us asked questions and LISTENED to what my daughter was looking for. She then zipped down the rack and in no time had several dresses to try on. The person was very helpful without being pushy. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this shop, it was clean, many mirrors and a nice large three way mirror, very willing to order the correct size, alterations are done on sight, very up front about size and price (However I felt the prices were very reasonable), easy to get to and ample parking in back. We had done quite a bit of internet shopping and gone to a few dress boutiques. I am so happy we went to Brides and Grooms I would not hesitate to shop there again. -

Absolutely love this place! I found my wedding dress here! The staff was very pleasant and was a delight to work with. They also work with you if you have a tight budget.They even selected me to be one of their 50 brides! Can't wait to go back for my fitting! -

I want to say that the Brides & Grooms from the Pikesville, MD store is awesome; I am having a great experience with them! They did the alterations on my wedding dress & it looks amazing . Let me say that I bought my dress online & received a size 18 when I really wear a size 12-14. (don't ask)... but I really needed my dress to fit perfectly. They did just that! I love my dress; it is perfect...

This is a small boutique run by a professional tailor and it shows! They allowed me to take home the dress after three alterations and then bring it back when it still wasn't right! They did not charge me extra for this either. And the owner himself did the corrections and final alterations! It was wonderful. -

I got my dress from the Newark, DE location. The staff was very friendly and excited about my dress. They were able to give me a good deal after I said I was thinking about getting the same dress somewhere else. They also have lovely veils and a wide selection of bridesmaids dresses. -

This story has a happy ending. Made an appointment and arrived on time. When I arrived, no one was able to help me because another group was there. We were made to wait 15 minutes. A brand new employee stepped up and offered to help us the best she could. The prices listed on line were a bit misleading and the dresses were disorganized. The dresses themselves were lovely. The employee had a wonderful additive use but clearly lacked training and was unaided. Eventually, a man, the owner arrived after finishing with the other group. He was kind and attentive. I found a discontinued dress and was given and good price. The owner is having it cleaned and repaired for me and gave me an additional discount. I never would have been able to afford a dress here without it. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. -

Brides and Grooms was a good experience for me. I initially ordered a size 6 dress. A week later I called them back to change the size to 4. What arrived 3 months later was a size 6 dress, and since we were so close to the wedding date I had to take the dress as it was. They included a free veil and shoes since my dress wasn't the right size, so I felt good about them trying to compensate me for ordering the wrong size. Also, I lost a lot of weight a week before the wedding, so Brides and Grooms took in the dress a 2nd time with a 2 day turnover, so I was happy about that. They are super busy, and I called them a lot, so I was on hold sometimes but they always got back to me, or else I had to just call them again. Overall a good experience! -

We ordered my wedding gown, all my bridesmaid dresses, and the mother of the bride dress from this store. They were very, very kind and offered a fantastic price, but they didn't seem very organized. I was a little disappointed that my mother's dress was dirty when I picked it up, but they did clean it for us. I was also a little disappointed with the bustle on my gown. However, the bridesmaid dresses were absolutely perfect. -

To start: I bought my beautiful wedding dress from the Pikesville, MD store. I love my dress. It is perfect.
The store is poorly organized. I had been told over the phone to go through the designers on their site and print out the dresses I liked. I showed up with printouts for 10 dresses. The woman helping me told me that they didn’t have any of the dresses – but she’d pull some similar ones (I was rather upset – since I already knew which dress I wanted).
When searching through the dresses at the store – I found 4 of the dresses that I’d printed out (including the ONE) . It was the one – so I told them I’d be back the next week to buy. We bought the dress the next week – and they threw in the veil.
I got a call months later that the dress was in. They didn’t require an appointment – so I went in and tried on my dress. And then nothing. No call when they were done (which they told me that they would do) – so I finally called back – and went in for a 2nd fitting.
And the dress didn’t fit. They had tightened the bodice to the point it dug in around the top. Then they free hand cut the bottom – and told me that they would clean up the bottom and call me when the dress was ready.
And again nothing. I went in the week of my wedding to pick up the dress – and obviously they hadn’t touched it since the last fitting. They again freehand cut some of the uneven bottom (but when in a bustle – there was a tail) and I took the dress home.
Thank god my MOH is a seamstress. She fixed the bodice (just undid their stitches and the dress fit perfect) – and once the dress was bustled at the venue – she took scissors and fixed the tail.
I should have gone to the Alfred Angelo store in Glen Burnie.

I came looking for my wedding dress. The appointment went very well. The girl was very helpful and attentive, and best of all I found my dress. After ordering, they gave me an estimated delivery date, and said they would call when it came in. I waited, and about a week after the date, I called to find the status of the dress, they then told me it was arriving the following day. I showed up, and I sat there for two hours, until they admitted they did not have my dress. The warehouse stated that the dress was delivered and signed for, they lost it... They told me they would make it up to me, and that it was okay, because there was still time.
They reordered the dress, and I one again received no call from them, so I called the store, and the lady said my dress was there and that she had it in her hands. I went to pick it up, they asked if I was interested in any alterations. I said no unless it was free of seriously discounted because they had lost the previous dress. They then just awkwardly avoided the subject.
They lost all trust and credibility when they lost my dress, and then would not own up to it. Not to mention they were not willing to make it right. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family. -

This was the absolute worst experience that I've ever had. The blatant disregard for any type of customer service. 1st they ignored our calls for weeks rather than calling and giving us an update. The dress was 2 weeks late arriving. Yelling at a customer and hanging up when asked any questions about an order, told you just have to deal with it and threatened to call the police because we wanted to try the dress on that was ordered and arrived 2 weeks late before we paid for it to ensure the right size was ordered. I've been calm throughout this whole process but I honestly can't understand how these folks are still in business. I plan to call the BBB and see if they can help me with this situation. Avoid this location at all costs. There are a few other dress stores within 2 miles of this location that's wonderful (Little M, Synchronicity etc...) Trying to save a little money with the smaller shop has ended up making matters much worst -

I had my daughter try in a few dresses but since we could not decide which we liked best we walked out thinking about it. I took her back a couple days later hoping to make a decision but we found more dresses. As we were finishing up and changing clothes the female owner turn out the lights on us and yeld at us don't come back.
I felt bad for the lady helping us because she found us the dresses to try on. She was lovely. The male owner yeld at her too in front of potential costomers and said I don't have time to be pinning up dresses unles they are going to buy anything. I did not ask him to pin anything up. I was looking for an answe as to how much it would cost for alterations in addition to the dress.
There were a selected few dresses for special occasion for a young girl of age 12. They said they can order dresses but apparently they could not show me which ones can be ordered. Their dresses on the floor were a mess and needed alterations of some sort. Even though their prices may be good they get you with the alterations.
I can not say I recommend this place as a matter of fact I would say stay away unless you want high pressure and to be yeld at by some very rude people. Good luck! -

DO NOT SHOP HERE. I brought a dress in to be altered (hemmed and cups put in). They said it was going to cost $100 which I knew was way too high but I just wanted to take the dress in and have it done right and be on my way. I thought bc they’re a bridal shop I had nothing to worry about. Little did I know that the person doing the alterations would get a huge stain on the chest of the dress. Pretty frustrating but I get that things happen. I left and told them I’d be back the next day to pick up the dress. I leave work early to come get the dress and as soon as I see it it’s apparent that there is now an even bigger stain on it. I now have to come back a third time to pick up the dress that I already overpaid to have altered. They did manage to get the majority of the stain out, however, they made no effort at all to make it right. A saleswoman apologized to me the second day but that was it. On the third day I was told I had to call and speak to the owner if I wanted anything done but she wouldn’t be back in the store for another 2 days.
When I spoke to the owner she was very condescending and dismissive towards me. She asked me why it was her problem and why would they ever refund any of my money since I’d already paid. I told her the right thing to do would’ve been to try to make it right on her own without me having to reach out to her but she told me I was being ridiculous and they’d gladly keep my money then she abruptly hung up on me.
Please do not spend your money lining the pockets of such a rude person who refuses to do the right thing. You do not want to be stuck with a ruined dress on your wedding day and an owner who refuses to go above and beyond to help fix an issue that she created. -

They charge a fee for trying on bridesmaid dresses!!! Worst experience at a Bridal shop. A fellow bridesmaid and I went to look for options for our friend's wedding. When staff was on the phone and did not acknowledge us. We waited for 5 minutes and then decided to show ourselves to our selection. Then we were rudely informed as we were looking at the choices that no photography was allowed, even after we explained that the bride was out of town and wanted to see the options we found. Then he asked if we had an appointment. I explained that I had called earlier in the week and was told I didn't need one. He seemed to say that appointments were needed but it would be fine today. That was when he informed us he would be charging a fee for simply trying on the dresses. We walked out immediately. I have never felt more unwanted in an establishment. -

If I could rate this place in the negative, I would. After hearing horror stories about this store, I was hesitant to go however, they were the only place that carried the gown I wanted that wasn't too far away. My gown was a little too "poofy" for my liking so I had asked them to remove some layers. I went back a few weeks after my first fitting to try the dress on to discover they had cut a huge hole right in the front while removing the layers. I pointed the mistake out to the owners who then tried to blame me for the hole. After explaining to them there was no way I could have done this they finally agreed to fix it. While standing in the store, discussing how to fix the dress, they said they would remove the fabric and replace it with a whole new fabric. My mom and I agreed to this and left with an appointment to try the dress on again. We went to try the dress on, after it was "fixed" to discover it did not look "perfect" like he had promised. After having them cut the hole in my dress and mess up a few other minor alterations they were supposed to do, my mom and I deemed it to be best to take the dress somewhere else to be finished. When we went to get the dress the owners wanted to charge us for the alterations that had happened because of their mistakes. The owners began yelling at us when we stated we didn't think it was fair we were paying for the alterations. The woman owner actually got in my mom's face and began yelling and pointing fingers at her. After basically being called a brat and having the owner tell me he doesn't want "my kind" in his store and trying to explain to him we shouldn't have to pay, we ended up doing so just to get my dress out of the store. Brides beware of this store and their extreme lack of customer service, lack of respect, and unprofessionalism. -

I wish I could give NEGATIVE stars! I made an appointment here because the shop said they had a certain dress in stock that I really wanted to try on. My appt was at noon on Saturday, but when we arrived at 11:45 the store was not yet open (the sign on the door said 10am). An Asian woman, I believe her name was Youn Lee, unlocked the front door for us. Turns out that earlier my mom had accidentally entered the wrong door at the back of the store and witnessed Youn Lee screaming very loudly & angrily at someone, which understandably made my mom extremely uncomfortable & gave her a bad feeling (that was later confirmed by leaps & bounds). I mention Youn Lee's race because she BARELY spoke English & she was extremely difficult to understand. After browsing for a few minutes while Youn Lee was allegedly pulling the dress for me, she came over to me & said "You sure the dress here? Someone told you that?" I said yes, I was told by multiple people. She replied "well you not talk to me." Which is true because if I had spoken to her, I would have NEVER made the appointment. She was simply passing the blame because it turns out the dress was not there, it was in their Delaware store. She was not apologetic at all, & said "you go to Delaware, you not pay tax," as if it was that simple to just get in the car and drive for two hours with my mom, future MIL, and three bridesmaids! Youn Lee was not only rude and insensitive, but incredibly ill-mannered to keep repeating "you go to Delaware" at least six times (as if we were silly to not already have done so)! As much as I wanted to walk out and leave at that point, we figured I may as well try on some dresses since we were already there. She did not pull a single dress for me, she did not offer any helpful information, she did not accompany me into the dressing room to help with the dresses (my MOH did that). I wouldn't even accept a free wedding dress from Brides and Grooms. I would not recommend ANYONE go to this shop! -

I am not the type of person who ever makes a big deal out of a bad experience. But on Tuesday night my bridesmaids and I had an appointment at Bride and Grooms Inc. in Pikesville to look for bridesmaids dresses and had an awful awful experience. The woman working there was on a personal phone call for a majority of the time, after pointing me in the direction of the short dresses she stopped helping us at all, she watched as a piled dresses into my arms but didn't point me to a room until I asked for a place to hang them, she told the girls they had to start trying things on as soon as they walked in the door because the store was closing soon, she never offered to help us, and asking her questions was like pulling teeth, and she only checked on us once at the very end to clear the dressing room out. And there was only one other customer in the store who was being helped by the other employee.
As a bride you want these experiences to be amazing because this is such a happy time for you, and this experience couldn't have been worse. So I wrote an email to the store, not for myself, but so that other brides hopefully have a better experience than I did. The response I got back basically called me a liar in so many words...and then offered me 25% off. I have never felt more disrespected in my life! Terrible experience that I hope no one else has to go through. -

I was extremely disappointed in Brides and Grooms. I called and ordered my bridesmaid dress through brides and grooms via telephone and spoke with Yung because I live in NY. When I go to pickup my dress, Its TWO SIZES TOO SMALL !!
Livid, I inform Hyi and Yung. Instead of apologizing, they actually blamed me and told me I ordered the wrong dress size. Hyi goes into this huge brawl about he has been a designer for 30 years…blah blah bah. I asked for a refund, he says “ absolutely not ! I asked did he have a recording on the phone, so that I could prove that the dress size I ordered is th the dress size that I have… he did not answer.
At this point I'm extremely upset. I have never been to an establishment that didn't want to take ownership of their mistakes. Hyi starts telling me, I gave them the wrong measurements. After I gave young my measurements she told me the size that I was, which was two size smaller than the dress that was ordered Hyi claims I spoke with someone that is in Delaware and not Yung. Yung was completely quite the whole time. She did not say a world. Yet Hyi continue to go back and forth with me. He did not take ownership that the wrong dress size was ordered. Because the wedding was in a few day, I did not have time to order a new one.
Hyi wanted me to pay over $200 for alterations. Thank goodness and friend of the family was able to fix my dress. I am extremely disappointed in Brides and grooms. Not to mention, they order another bridesmaid dress way too big, she needed major alterations as well, and they ordered the wrong color in the flower girls dresses. Due to the time restraint, we all was unable to do anything !
Im so grateful for our family friend that was able to fix my dress. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE BRIDAL SALON ! I'M GLAD I WAS INFORMED THEY ARE ON WEDDING WIRE, If you choose to proceed. Proceed with extreme caution !

I was EXTREMELY disappointed in Brides and Grooms. They almost ruined our wedding. They ordered the wrong color in both of my flower girls dresses, ordered my maid of honors dress too big and one my bridesmaids dress too small. Because our wedding was that friday, there was nothing we could do. I was extremely upset that they did not want to take ownership in messing up our order. Nor wanted to give any refunds. But instead, they wanted to go back and forth with us, stating is was our fault. I'm very grateful for a family friend that was able to do major alterations to the two dresses in time. The flower girl dresses that they did ordered was pretty, but not the ones that I ordered. They are based in Delaware and now they are in Pikesville. I should have read their Delaware store reviews before dealing with this establishment, which have bad reviews....LESSON LEARNED. The amount of money my girls paid for their dress, then had to pay for major alterations was unacceptable. They didn't even offer a discount after I pleaded nor did they own up to their complete mess ups ! NEVER, EVER AGAIN ! After all my wedding turned out great thanks to a friend of the family. I dont know what we would have done if it wasn't for her. Stay away. There's plenty other boutiques out here, I would hate for this to happen to someone else !
