    Bride. Is everything!

I cannot express enough how amazing my experience was at bride. !!! First off, THE SPACE is gorgeous! So beautiful, light, airy, comfortable- I feel like I could live there!! Second, the selection of dresses is incredible. I had previously visited another bridal shop and did not find one dress that I liked. But at bride. I-no exaggeration- loved every single one. My stylist, Rachel, was so kind and real. She was great with pulling all different options, listening to my comments on each dress, and helping me narrow my top picks down (because every dress was beautiful). They were also really great about still making my appointment a special experience during Covid-19 times. I was a little nervous to try on wedding dresses with a mask on, but they truly made me feel both safe and special. I felt so supported and beautiful at bride. I CANNOT WAIT to go back and try on my dress again when it comes in. I wish I could go back and do the whole experience over again, because it was so much fun and so wonderful. If you're looking for a fun, relaxed, beautiful experience in finding your dream dress, absolutely go to bride. You will not regret it!

    Shop the Sample Sale!

I can't remember how I discovered Bride KC but I am so happy I did! I live in Omaha but traveled to KC for a weekend getaway with my fiance the same time they were having a sample sale. The sample sale weekend is not the time to bring your whole bridal party and it's not your typical wedding dress shopping experience - which I was totally OK with. You basically get a time slot (that you share with another Bride) to help yourself to trying on the sample dresses off the rack. I tried on about 8-10 dresses and the very last one was THE ONE. I walked out with the dress of my dreams 80% off the retail price! Safe to say I was one happy bride :)

    Perfectly curated selection

As a picky redhead with translucent skin, I did not expect to find a wedding dress I liked, let alone at the first and only place I visited. The owner and her team were incredibly helpful and patient. Their selection is expertly curated and the prices are reasonable.

Laura is so welcoming and cares about her brides, she take the time to get to know them and help them find their perfect dress. Her shop, BRIDE. is a perfect little gem in the middle of the city, with designers that are unique and exceptional. I found my Pinterest dress in her shop and we were both nervous about trying it on first, so she showed me some alternatives she thought I would like, which I did, but when it came time to try on the Pinterest dress we both knew it was THE ONE. She was just as excited as I was! That's what make her and BRIDE. so special.

Laura was amazing from start to finish! She responded quickly when I requested an appointment online, she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful at my actual appointment, and she was very helpful with suggesting alterations at my fitting. They do not offer alterations in the shop, but that was not a big deal to me. She carries several unique designers, which is exactly what I was looking for, and every dress in her shop was GORGEOUS! I highly recommend BRIDE to any bride looking for something a little nontraditional!

Where do I even begin?! Laura is absolutely a dream come true. Her shop is so hip and takes bridal to a whole new category. I was looking for a dress I could eat, drink, and dance in. She put me in a simple slip dress and styled with a killer veil and this amazing beaded necklace and it was game over. I NEVER would've picked anything out like that for myself and this was absolute perfection. She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, and I cannot thank her enough. Best bridal salon ever!!

An absolute dream. If you are a bride in the Kansas City area, and you are looking to break past the tradition wedding mold, you must see Laura at BRIDE KC. There is no review good enough for her or her gem of a bridal shop. I am lucky to have found not only the dress of my dreams, but also made a friend along the way. After visiting 9 other bridal stores around the Missouri/Kansas area I was losing all hope. I stumbled upon the BRIDE website and I could instantly tell this place was something different...something special. I was able to make an appointment quickly, and was warmly greeted with an awesome playlist, great lighting, and the most beautiful, and down-to-earth lay out and vibe that I could hope for. Laura had wedding dresses and designers that no one else in the area did. I just knew this would be where I'd find my wedding dress. She was so patient with me, and believe me, my indecisiveness was definitely rearing it's ugly little head and yet it didn't seem to phase her. When I put on "the one" we both just knew. It was the best experience ever. She is so knowledgeable and a genuine good soul. I decided on a Truvelle jaw dropper because I wanted something different, and if it wasn't for BRIDE I would have never been able to find it. Even with a custom change made, my dress was affordable, and able to be shipped to me in Georgia (my new home) all within 6 months of my wedding (yes, she made it happen!!) My wedding was just recently, October 23rd, and all I can say is, this little number was everything, and more. I highly recommend BRIDE KC.

Sent defective dress and refuses refund

On June 12, 2021, I purchased a wedding dress from Bride, a wedding dress shop, which is called Order #1068. I paid $3554.09, which included a $200 rush charge and $60 shipping charge (as well as taxes) for a $2950.00 wedding dress made by Sarah Seven. The rush charges were incurred because my wedding is on September 11, 2021, and I needed my dress by the end of July 2021 to ensure adequate time for routine alterations prior to the wedding. My measurements were taken and sent to the dress manufacturer, and the dress shop recorded that I did not need extra length in their order, which is even documented on my receipt. I chose this dress based on trying on a sample of the same dress in the shop. I have many pictures to document the fit of that dress.
I became very uneasy when I was informed that FedEx had lost my dress on July 22, after shipment on July 15. After repeated calls to FedEx, my dress finally arrived the evening of July 26, eight days after the July 18 date I was originally given. I have email documentation of all of this. No refund for the dress rush nor shipping charges were offered to me.
Upon receipt, I immediately took the dress to my preferred seamstress, who was extensively recommended by friends in the area. When I tried it on to plan the alterations, the seamstress informed me that it could not be altered, because the bodice had been cut so short that it did not even cover my breasts. This was only a height measurement issue, not a weight-related fit issue. The seamstress’ only suggestion was that material could be taken from the hem and added below the waistline, creating a “belt look” to increase the length of the bodice, but this would ruin the look of the dress. It would also be cost- and time-prohibitive. That seamstress had just worked with a bride with the same problem from the same dress manufacturer. The other bride ended up having to purchase a new dress, since her Sarah Seven dress was unalterable.
I declined alterations and immediately contacted the dress shop, showing side-by-side pictures of me in their dress shop with the appropriate length bodice (the sample I used as a basis for purchasing the dress), me in the dress they sent (showing that it hit below the breasts with a bra to cover the nipple area), and an image from the dress manufacturer’s website showing a model wearing the dress with the intended fit.
Bride, the dress shop, responded that I wasn’t properly wearing the dress, which was false, as a professional seamstress had fitted the dress and taken the photos. They asked for additional photos and video, then, before I could even send them, wrote back to say “skip that step” and instead go to a seamstress of their choosing, who works regularly with that dress manufacturer. They wouldn’t believe me or my photos without hearing it from a professional seamstress of their choosing. Their top seamstress choice in my area initially said she could not squeeze me in, due to the proximity of my wedding. Second on the list was a seamstress with a very negative reputation online who required a deposit. I refused to work with her because of her extensive negative reviews and the deposit-associated costs. I ended up persistently calling Bride’s top seamstress choice (who was extremely well-qualified with two fashion degrees), and she kindly made time to see me for a consultation within four days of the dress shop’s communications. Just from reviewing the photos I sent of the dress (taken by the first seamstress), this seamstress (again, the dress shop’s choice) was able to determine that the bodice was cut too short and unalterable, which I had in writing and relayed to Bride. I again asked Bride for a refund at that time. Not surprisingly, they still wanted me to see their seamstress in person, so I complied.
Upon visiting her shop in person for the consultation (which I had to pay for, and was never offered a refund for from Bride), the seamstress again stated and documented in writing that the bodice was cut too short and the dress was unalterable. She also mentioned multiple times that she was currently working on a dress with exactly the same problem for another bride. In that case, Sarah Seven, the dressmaker, had sent a new bodice for her so she could piece the bodice and skirt together. This had never even been offered as an option to me.
Immediately upon exiting the dress shop (midday on 8/8/21), I provided a copy of the seamstress’ document to the Bride. At this time, I again requested a refund. I did not hear a reply from them until Wednesday, 8/11, when they told me that the dressmaker was making me a new dress. I refused receipt of this dress, as it is not possible to receive it and have routine alterations done prior to my 9/11/21 wedding. Bride continues to deny a refund for any part of the fees, including the rush charges, shipping, the seamstress consultation fee, the future charges for rush alterations, and the dress! They have never even apologized for the manufacturing defect. I have email documentation of all conversations with Bride, photos, and written summaries from the seamstresses. My only option is to buy a consigned dress or a used floor sample from another shop at this point. I am very unhappy and wish to save others from the same problems.
