Meli was absolutely incredible. From the very first interaction, she was attentive, thoughtful and extremely communicative. It was so important to me that I still felt like me and looked like I normally would - just enhanced. I did not want over-the-top glam, nor did I want to feel like my face was heavy or weighed down. We did my trial about 11 months before the wedding and knew there were a few tweaks we wanted to make. I then had Meli do my bridal shower makeup and the look was absolutely perfect. The wedding day just completely blew me away. She's thorough, yet efficient and extremely thoughtful with her notes and timing. She listens to your needs and talks through different options. I wish I could give her 10 stars!! Can't say enough good things about her! :) -

Meli was the makeup artist for our wedding in March 2026. She did the makeup of the bride, three mothers, and three bridesmaids for the wedding. Finding a makeup artist as one of the most difficult parts of wedding planning for me, but I am so glad I found Meli. She is knowledgeable, communicative, and efficient. It was important to me to use some of my own products, and Meli accommodated this and went above and beyond in making me feel comfortable and showing me every product she was using on me, and took feedback perfectly after my trial. My makeup didn’t require a single touch up (but she made sure I was prepared in case I needed one) and lasted all night! Thank you, Meli! -

The best part of hiring Meli was how efficient she was! It only took her ~30 minutes per bridesmaid, so that meant the makeup for 7 bridesmaids + bride was done in less than 3 hours. Most weddings I have been in, we had to start hair and makeup at the crack of dawn…. I was grateful for a full night’s sleep before my wedding day and my bridesmaids were overjoyed that we didn’t need to start until 10am, and still finished in plenty of time for photos. Meli catered to everyone’s requests and everyone looked amazing. Everyone in my bridal party is of different ethnicities (I am half Asian myself) and she was proficient with all skin tones and features. She was very accommodating and we never felt rushed, she took my feedback as we went along and gave me the exact look I was hoping for. I got many compliments on my wedding day. 10/10 would recommend Meli -

I decided last minute to have a small NJ wedding on 12:22/24 before my destination wedding in February, I called Meli in October and booked her right away. Not only was she professional and easy to work with, but we became friendly right away and I knew I’d want to work with her. I had a fun experience at the makeup trial and my makeup lasted all day. I have very sensitive skin and eyes and the lashes and products she used did not bother me at all. She came to my house on my wedding day and was quick and it came out exactly as I wanted. She is a thoughtful person and followed up with me before the wedding and very punctual and kind. I would highly recommend her to do your bridal makeup or any other special occasion needs like your shower! -

I cannot recommend Meli enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive and even suggested a hairdresser she occasionally collaborates with—the equally amazing Rose Renda. Together, they truly were my dream team! Meli worked her magic on my makeup for me, two moms, and five bridesmaids, while Rose created stunning hairstyles for all of us.
During our first consultation, Meli took the time to truly understand my vision and offered expert advice to ensure I looked and felt my absolute best.
On the wedding day, both Meli and Rose brought such calm, positive energy that made the morning feel extra special. I was new to the Flemington area and I was in search of a makeup artist to do my makeup for a family wedding. Of several vendors that I contacted via email, only Meli responded immediately and was eager to help me out. I contacted her several months before this wedding, but we communicated right up until the actual wedding date about my makeup needs and arrangements. She did such a wonderful job and I got many compliments about my makeup. I highly recommend Meli—she is very personable and professional. Should I have the need to have my makeup done in the future, she is will definitely be the person I go to! -

Right from the beginning I knew that working with Meli was going to be a great experience. She took the time during my trial to truly understand my vision and create a bridal look that made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself, especially because I don't usually wear a lot of makeup. She used high quality products that stayed flawless throughout my entire wedding day. Not only is Meli incredibly skilled, but she is also an absolute joy to work with. Meli gave me the perfect “enhanced natural” look! She really went above and beyond to make sure I loved my make up and got such an excellent hair stylist (thank you, Rose!) assist me. My hair and make up stayed perfect all day and night (I was up until almost 4am).
I had an outdoor wedding and was running around do a lot of last minute things and then get some photos before my guests arrived, and was so happy that I needed little to no retouch before I walked down the aisle. Meli and Rose were both so easy to work with and professional. I felt like I had known them much longer than I actually had. -

The Perfect Makeup for My Wedding
Meli is a gem of a makeup artist and a person! She was able to do my makeup exactly how I imagined it for my wedding (soft and natural but still enough to enhance my natural face). It was absolutely gorgeous and I got so many compliments on it! Meli is incredibly kind, so easy to work with, and can make you look exactly how you dreamed and more. She also did makeup for my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law, that looked equally flawless and in such a short time! It was such a joy to work with her and I can't recommend her enough!! -

Meli was the perfect choice for my wedding makeup! I don't typically wear a lot of makeup so I wanted to look very natural and so did my bridesmaids. I wanted to look like myself but obviously with some more pop! It was exactly what I wanted. She was able to do 9 peoples makeup in 4 hours. She was efficient, professional, made all of the girls feel comfortable and did an incredible job. She is so sweet and a lovely person to work with. -

Meli was super sweet when I first spoke with her. Her responses were quick and helpful, even when she was out of the country! She is super personable and would 100% use her again given the opportunity. Her prices are more than fair. I gave a pretty non-specific idea of what I wanted on the wedding day and never had a trial prior to because of my own scheduling issues. Despite these things, she gave me exactly what I had in mind, and it lasted all day! Me and the rest of the bridal party looked amazing and it's all thanks to her and Rose!! -

Best makeup artist around!
To start, I LOVE Meli!! I cannot recommend her enough. She is so professional, but also kind and extremely easy to get along with. She talks to you like a person and not just another customer. My make up looked phenomenal and I received many compliments. My bridesmaids also looked out of this world, and my bridesmaids were multiple ethnicities, including Spanish and African-American that is no easy task to be able to do make up well for that many different ethnicities. My bridesmaids were very happy. Her price point is fair and reasonable in my opinion especially in this business. Somehow she also works quickly too! We finished with her and Make Up well before the deadline but thank God we did, I needed the extra time for a bra and she was having with my wedding dress. You cannot go wrong with Meli, she also respects whatever your wishes are regarding your make up and your style, which not every artist does that . Again I highly recommend Meli you will not regret it. -

Meli is the best makeup artist I could have asked for on my wedding day. I am so thankful to her for everything! From the trial, which helped me get an idea of what the experience would be, to the day itself, she was nothing but helpful.
Meli showed up on time and ready to work, after a few minutes of setting up and a sip of coffee she was ready to go. Everyone was very impressed with how hard she worked! She kept us on schedule so we were able to walk out the door on time. I was impressed by how she was calm and collected while all the chaos was happening around her. All the ladies were so happy with their makeup, and each of us chose very different looks. From the young to the old we all looked glam and felt fabulous.
I also changed my inspiration a bit from the trial to the wedding day, and she was more than flexible with adding a bit more glam to the look. She also communicated with me in the months leading up to the wedding, and I never felt like I was left in the dark about anything. My makeup lasted the whole day and I was so sad to take it off since that was the most beautiful I have ever felt. It even lasted through a torrential downpour in NYC as we were running to our hotel room - I looked in the mirror and still had the full glam face on!
I would recommend Meli highly and am so happy I got to work with her! -

Meli is an absolute amazing person and artist. When I went looking for a MUA, I had a few requirements: 1) Reasonably priced for myself as well as my bridal party 2) More natural look. I wanted to look like me.
Meli absolutely met these requirements. Not only did she meet them, she exceeded them. It was so easy to work with her. Her communication was amazing and truly made me feel like myself, with added beauty! She was able to do my trial for my engagement shoot (highly recommend) and I was blown away on how my makeup stayed on while I was outside for hours taking pictures on a cold, chilly day. The same holds true for my wedding day. My makeup lasted! Lashes are included and she leaves you a little touch up lip product as well. I was so glad I found Meli through my venue and she was an amazing choice! If you are looking for someone kind, talented, responsive, and reasonably priced. Look no further! Thanks for everything Meli and can’t wait to see pics on your big day coming up too! -

I knew after my first phone call with Meli that she was “the one!” She is the sweetest, so communicative, and really prioritizes your comfort level when it comes to makeup. She is experienced and so talented with natural glam. She talked me through my trial and helped me with any changes we wanted to make before the big day. I absolutely loved my makeup, as did my mom, mom-in-law, and bridesmaids. It really felt like Meli became a friend through the process, rather than just a vendor. I can't begin to say enough about how wonderful Meli was to work with. At my trial, she listened, took in what look I was going for and the viewed photos I brought for inspiration. As we went, she checked in to make sure that what she was doing lined up with my vision. At the end of the trial, I was thrilled with the outcome and booked right away. Leading up to wedding day, she was super approachable with any questions I had and was very responsive when I reached out to add another bridesmaid in or to ask a question. On my wedding day, she arrived to the location of our venue early and was fully prepared for a morning of working with 6 bridesmaids, the mother of the bride, and myself. She took her time with each person, making sure they were pleased with their look, and was so professional, friendly, and efficient to be sure we were on schedule and done in time. She took the time to do touch ups before leaving as well. When I say that she NAILED the look I was going for, I can't emphasize that enough. I look like me in the pictures, just glammed up a bit and that was all I was looking for. She crushed it- I can't recommend her enough. I struck gold when I found Meli's listing while browsing on The Knot and if you're looking for someone who is wonderful to work with on your wedding day, call Meli!! She truly loves what she does and puts passion into her work. You will not be disappointed! -

I have never had such a positive experience with a make-up artist before! I am someone who doesn't like a ton of make-up and prefers a more natural look. I especially hate when make-up covers up all my freckles - which every artist has convinced me to do in my past. I told Meli all of this and she was just like "no problem at all!". I felt beautiful on my wedding day and it is all becaue of Meli. I cannot recommend her enough. All of my bridesmaids loved their make-up as well! -

Great experience!
Mel did a fantastic job handling many different type of looks for our wedding day. My now wife and I both wanted very minimal makeup looks which Mel did beautifully. My 60 year old mother and my 72 year old mother-in-law both had a lovely face of makeup applied (including my mother's first ever lash!) in addition to our bridal party who wanted more full face of makeup. Mel even was able to step in to help my sister-in-law with her lashes last minute and saved the day! Really would recommend Mel if you are looking for more natural looking makeup and someone with a great calming presence who will make you feel like a million bucks! -

Meli was the sweetest, most reliable/communicative, and magically talented person to work with for our special weekend! From the moment I submitted an inquiry, Meli responded almost immediately with all of the details I needed, and she was available by both text and email for questions and updates over the months as I ironed out all of the details from the headcount, schedule, and other updates.
I had also sent Meli some "inspirational" looks I was hoping to emulate for my vision of colors and style as the day got closer, and she not only created the most beautiful interpretation of them, but she also gifted me a shimmery pink/pearl lip gloss that matched the colors I had sent so that I could reapply throughout the day and look glowing into the night.
I received so many compliments on the flawlessness of my makeup, and Meli was so thoughtful and sent/mailed printed photos of the shots she took on her phone of the venue and the finished product of my lashes for days and porcelain skin. :-) I trusted her completely, she really is the best, so professional, punctual, and personable! My family and friends who had makeup done kept raving about how much they loved working with her - how she was so fun and sweet, and all of the traits you want in your makeup artist on your wedding day. Meli also works with hairstylist Rose Renda (who was also lovely and talented), so be sure to ask about her when you reach out, too. -

You need to hire Meli for your wedding or any other special event. Her work is so beautiful and natural, she works so well to collaborate with you and give you the perfect look that you want -- and it lasts all night too! I cried all during my ceremony (happy tears) and sweat on the dance floor, and it still didn't budge. She also is very communicative, responds quickly, arrived early, and works so fast! I was worried about the tight schedule we had planned for the day, but her and her partner hair stylist Rose (also fantastic!) worked so efficiently, we were all done with time to spare! The best part is that she's incredibly friendly and personable, I felt like we were all friends getting ready together and it was a wonderful way to start my wedding day. Highly recommend! -

INCREDIBLE makeup artist!!
Meli is incredible. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. For my wedding, she alone got through all 9 of us and finished on time!! After looking online for a makeup artist for my wedding, I came across Bridal Makeup by Meli. I loved all of her pictures of the natural, classic and elegant makeup she did. All of the women looked so beautiful. After reviewing her website and reading her words, I only called her. From the moment we spoke, it was like we were old friends and had a lot of the same ideas. Meli was so warm and friendly that I had a feeling in my gut that she was the one. I booked Meli for a trial for me and my Matron of Honor. We loved her and her work, which made us feel beautiful! I texted her when I had questions or felt stressed, and she was always there with answers and reassurance. I picked the best makeup artist for me and it would not have been the same without her! I recently had a "micro wedding" (due to COVID) on a totally different date than originally planned. I needed to find a makeup artist fairly last minute, and lucky for me, Meli was available on my date! Even without a trial beforehand, she did a phenomenal job and gave me the exact look I wanted. It was truly the best professional makeup I've ever had done. It looked natural and glowing, with some sparkle!
In addition to doing a great job with the makeup, Meli has a great personality and was the absolute sweetest person to be around the morning of my wedding. Given all the stress and heartbreak we had to go through with multiple date cancellations, the support of people around me on that day was especially important.
Even though our wedding was nothing like we planned, and 12 guests (instead of 300), my wedding was magical and I was able to feel like a princess. Thank you, Meli!! -

Since I spoke with Meli on the phone I knew she would make my wedding day better than I could have ever dreamed of! Her work is not only beautiful, but her personality is caring and personable. She uses her bubbly personality and respect towards her work, and it is definitely noticeable when the big day comes! She spoke with me over the phone about a picture in my head of what I imagined my makeup to look like on my wedding day. She took that image, combined her subtle touch and matched my pictured image with my personality to make it above and beyond! She made me shine on my wedding day but still be me deep down. She also was so easy to speak to and communicate about many things. Her response time was incredible. Some of my bridesmaids were hesitant for their makeup to be done based on their facial characteristics, Meli made sure they felt comfortable and worked with their wishes and personalities as well to match their imagined style. To this day my bridesmaids and the two Mom's still talk about her work and have been recommending her to other people as well. If you want someone who not only is straight up talented, but has a heart and enjoys matching your style and personality with your wedding day makeup, she sure is the one. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Meli. She was very professional, responsive and pleasant. She always stayed in touch and promptly returned texts and call. She was flexible with scheduling a trial as well as accommodating with doing my Mom's makeup at her hotel and my makeup at the venue.
She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She was not pushy and made lots of excellent suggestions. We worked together to design a look for my son's Bar Mitzvah that I was comfort with and looked amazing. She was a huge asset to me!
I would not only highly recommend her but I will most definitely use her for my other son's Bar Mitzvah in two years! -

My experience with Meli was great from start to finish. She was very accommodating and flexible with scheduling. During the makeup trial, she redid my makeup a few times until I got exactly what I wanted. On the day of the wedding, she worked at a pretty quick pace while still maintaining a lot of attention to detail. Everyone loved their makeup. Furthermore, because she was so efficient, Meli was able to do one other bridesmaid's makeup because the other artist (not affiliated with Meli) was running behind. I highly recommend Meli for your bridal makeup! -

Meli gave me a trial run before my wedding day my engagement photoshoot was successful and i felt beautiful and my make up stayed the entire day. She did a great job on my wedding day even my mom, my maid of honor, and my cousin said she did a fantastic job and will definitely hire her again in the future. She was very professional and knew how work with my type of skin (filipino).

Patty Sent on 05/04/2018I cannot recommend Makeup by Meli enough! She is not only an amazing makeup artist but a very lovely person. She was the ultimate professional. She arrived to the venue early and did 12 girls by herself! Everyone looked gorgeous! I love her products. She knows what looks good on any age! I received many compliments as well as the bride! She looked GORGEOUS!

Lauren Sent on 01/10/2018There aren't enough words to truly describe how wonderful Melissa is.
I found Melissa after a makeup trial elsewhere that hadn't gone well and was probably at the height of my bridezilla panic. From my first call with her - not even having met - she had an understanding of what I wanted, a pricepoint that was in my budget, and acted in a calm and reassuring way - which I really needed.
After my trial with her I was completely smitten. Melissa is so personable and easy to talk to. The trial flew by between laughs and stories and once she was done I wanted to cry over the makeup application she had done - but obviously couldn't because ruining her makeup application would be tragic. I even wore the trial makeup to my engagement photos and it held up beautifully and pictured impeccably.
On our wedding day Melissa showed up on time and executed flawless application on myself, all 4 bridesmaids, my mother, and mother in law in perfect timing to line up with my wedding day itinerary. I would like to especially point out that my mother, mother in law and one of my bridesmaids NEVER wear makeup and were completely blown away by Melissa's airbrush skills and how it felt like they weren't wearing makeup at all. I should also point out that I mentioned earlier it would be tragic to cry with her makeup on - but let me tell you I had tears rolling down my face all day long and her makeup DID NOT BUDGE.
Her work speaks for itself - it is one thing to have talent, but Melissa really pushes herself above the bar by being such a beautiful person and caring vendor. I never felt pressured, she never bothered me with too many emails or phone calls, and she was forgiving when my bridal brain made me forget things.
I truly hope anyone who reads this review will at least consider a trial with Melissa because I couldn't imagine my wedding without her. -
Nicole Sent on 01/08/2018Words can't describe how happy I am that I booked Meli to do my make-up. She was so easy going and flexible leading up to and on the actual wedding day. She is also fun to talk to and be around! I am the kind of girl that does not wear a lot of make-up daily and was nervous to have my make-up done by just anyone. I am so happy that I chose Meli. She made the process so easy and really has an eye for what she does and what will look good on you. I felt so beautiful and did not want to take my make-up off at the end of the night! You will not regret booking her. She is amazing to work with and really does an awesome job for anyone's make-up. Everyone that got their make-up done loved how they looked and was so happy with her work. Thank you Meli!

I chose Meli as my bridal makeup artist because she's got years of experience. She can make anyone look beautiful. I have to say, with 1 week of no sleep and a zit on my chin wedding morning, I looked so drained out. Meli made me look STUNNING and FLAWLESS!!!!! She also did the makeup for my mom, MIL, and my bridal party. They were beyond pleased! She also made prep time so much fun. We all loved her. Brides, do not stress about finding a makeup artist for your big day. Meli is the one. So happy how everything turned out. :)

Jessica Sent on 01/02/2018Melissa did an absolutely fabulous job on my bridal makeup! I called Melissa on the Wednesday before my wedding, and she just happened to be available. I was SO excited to have my makeup professionally done at home to help alleviate stress during the day of the wedding. Melissa not only was professional, charismatic, and made me, my mom and my aunt feel beautiful, but our makeup lasted ALL night long! My mom, aunt, and I all did airbrushed makeup and it looked and felt amazing. I tend to only use MAC myself, and when Melissa pulled out mostly MAC products, I knew I had picked the right artist for me! I did not have time for a makeup trial, but Melissa captured my natural look while making me feel more glamorous and gorgeous than I have ever felt in my life. Melissa is THE BEST and I could not recommend her or thank her enough!!
