Brian Callaghan was an absolute treasure!

Our wedding was perfect and one of the reasons it all turned out so beautifully was because of Brian Callaghan!
From our very first correspondence, he was responsive, professional, cordial, knowledgeable, flexible and extremely helpful. We loved his website and his wide array of song lists that we used to make our selections. We also asked him to arrange and play a song that was special to us for our Processional. It was not part of his regular repertoire but he played and sang it beautifully. Brian went above and beyond to work with my 16 year old niece to perform another of our favorites during the ceremony. Brian played acoustic guitar and my niece sang. There was not a dry eye in the place during that performance.
Brian has a professional setup and worked very well with our venue for our outside setup.
Simply put, I highly recommend Brian to perform at your wedding or any other special event. We are so happy that Brian Callaghan was our music choice!

Ceremony/Cocktail Hour Must!

Brian is an incredibly talented individual! His music selection is vast and we had so much fun selecting the songs for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Brian is wonderful to work with and extremely professional. We had multiple guests specifically comment on how much they enjoyed his music! Highly recommend!

Just Perfect!

Brian was wonderful to work with, from the moment I reached out in inquiry, to the very last note he played. Friendly, engaging, helpful, considerate, flexible - not to mention talented! He was the absolute perfect musician for our ceremony and cocktail hour - and he rolled with COVID delays and rescheduling worries with an ease that allowed me comfort in knowing I didn't need to fret over a thing! Brian was great!

Brian was professional, responsive, and very adaptable to our situation. For our wedding we had a small ceremony by a lake in Maine, and there were limited power outlets. Brian came prepared with a battery system and his performance turned out fantastic. We would highly recommend Brian to anyone looking for his services.

Very Talented and Professional

Brian did such a great job performing at our ceremony and cocktail hour. His song list has plenty of variety to meet everyone's tastes, and he was always prompt in replying to messages or adjusting our contract. He learned a new song for our 1st dance which made it even more personal and special. When our wedding plans were scrapped for a smaller family wedding at a different location, Brian was easy to work with and easily adapted to our new plans. He arrived well dressed and set up on time, communicated directly with our other vendors, and quickly moved from our ceremony location to our cocktail hour. He even stayed longer than we had planned when our photos ran a little long. All in all, Brian was a great choice for us and we would absolutely work with him again.

So thankful we found Brian!!

We hired Brian as the guitarist at our 2020 wedding. Due to COVID, we changed the venue and time of the wedding. Brian was willing and quick to adapt. He provided an extensive list of music and songs from which to choose. Brian performed when our guests were arriving, during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. He exhibited a professional and kind demeanor. Brian's music and voice are truly amazing!

So thankful to have found Brian!

We were so fortunate to find Brian. We planned a very last minute wedding and Brian jumped in to the rescue. He replied instantaneously, talked with us about what we wanted, and helped bring wonderful music to our wedding. He was incredibly adaptable and even came early so that we would be able to avoid potential rain for our ceremony. Highly recommend.

Stress free intimate wedding

We had an intimate wedding in Jackson NH (less than 20 people) and I wanted a solo guitarist. His website was helpful to get a feel for his style in advanced. Brian does a lot of private events which made seeing him in person before the wedding challenging (we also had a short engagement). He was amazing at responding right away and made planning super easy by working directly with the venue on his needs, location of set up etc. My family LOVED him to the point I had a hard time getting them off the patio for cocktail hour. He did finger style only (no vocals) and knocked it out of the park. He was so professional, even with our small group and my entire experience with him was stress free because he was on top of everything. His prices were fair, especially since he traveled with all of his own equipment. I would hire him again for any event. Thank you Brian!

Brian Truly Made Our Ceremony Special

Brian was extremely easy to work with and made our ceremony memorable. We were looking for less traditional wedding prelude and processional songs and his catalogue definitely delivered. Guests recognized some of our favorite selections and commented that they were all played beautifully. Overall it added a less stuffy more relaxed feel to the proceedings that we really appreciated.
As a bonus he also supplied microphones for our officiant and made sure everything went smoothly with the sound and speakers during the ceremony.
We would definitely recommend Brian to other couples looking to make their wedding day special.

Just Perfect!!!

Brian Callaghan was wonderful. He has a wonderful song selection in his repertoire and is willing to accommodate special request to make the wedding that much more special. I couldn't imagine our ceremony without his music

Awesome musician

Brian played acoustic guitar during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour this past summer. He had an extensive list of songs to choose from and we were very happy with the selection. The music was beautiful and just the vibe we were looking for. Would highly recommend!

Would highly recommend!

We hired Brian to do the ceremony music for our outside ceremony (~30 mins). There was one song not on his list, and he graciously agreed to learn/perform the song for us - it was perfect! Poor guy was stuck outside on the hottest day of the summer, and never complained. Would highly recommend!

Brian was very good at responding to any of our questions before the wedding. His song catalog is strong and covers a wide variety. Allowing you to pick and choose and really make your event yours. Day of the event Brian was punctual and set up well in advance. He really created an ambiance that pulled our ceremony together. I would certainly recommend Brian to any family or friends.

Brian was so easy to work with. He learned a specific song we wanted. He was prompt the day of and worked well with the other vendors to ensure everything worked well together. I was really happy with the guitar sound for the space and event as well as the variety of song options.

To be noted: We didn't have a wedding coordinator and didn't do a very good job squaring away the pace of the ceremony processional with Brain. That didn't matter one bit. Brian adapted to his environment and performed his music beautifully, without a hitch. He was nearly invisible in the best way.

Up his arrival Brian simply asked where to stage himself and went about the business of setting up. The next we saw him, Brian had finished our agreed upon pre-processional setlist and seamlessly transitioned to a requested version of the Twin Peaks theme song. We were in awe.

Low mantainence. Awe inspiring talent. I will recommend Brian to anyone and everyone.

Perfect Choice!

Brian was very professional and personable. He did an absolutely beautiful rendition of the processional song we chose; when I heard it start to play from where I was out of sight from our guests, it gave me goose bumps, it was absolutely perfect! He was very easy to work with for song choices, and was very prompt with communication. The cost of his services are very reasonable and he is a great talent!

Great artist for wedding weekend party!

Brian was fantastic - great communication, professional, had a great song list, talented singer and guitarist, AWESOME addition to our night-before-our-wedding party! He even learned one of our fave songs for the event and played a couple extra hours because our guests were enjoying themselves so much! I just wish we’d found him earlier so we could have had him play for the wedding ceremony as well!

Highly Recommended Soloist

After reviewing Brian on The Knot, we decided to hire him to play at our wedding and the first hour of the reception. We spoke with him a couple times leading up to the big day to finalize our play list. Brian also brought up questions that we would not have thought to ask, such as (1) whether or not cords would be in the way of guest or of he should use a battery to keep things looking clean, (2) if we needed a lapel mic for our officiant and (3) how we'd like him to transition from ceremony to reception. Brian showed up plenty early to setup and was very professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend him.

Such a talented, professional guitarist- perfect for a wedding ceremony!

Brian was amazing to work with. He was very communicative (great emailer!) and had a fantastic list of songs to choose from for our wedding ceremony. When I heard him start to strum Canon in D by Pachelbel as I entered the ceremony with my father, his performance couldn't have been more perfect for that moment. He also nailed Yellow Ledbetter during the prelude, which me and my husband absolutely loved (huge Pearl Jam fans!). Brian is a fantastic artist and came very prepared and even had a lapel mic for our officiant. I highly recommend him if you're considering music at your ceremony and/or reception!

Brian was so easy and wonderful to work with and provided wonderful music for ceremony and cocktail hour. He worked closely with us to identify songs for the prelude and cocktail hour, which included learning three songs that we wanted to include in the ceremony. Brian also provided and set up a lapel mic for our officiant and a wireless mic for readings and our vows. If we were to do it all again, without a doubt we would still hire Brian.

We had Brian in to play our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and he was absolutely fantastic! Firstly, he is an extremely talented musician. My husband and I hired Brian to play at our small, backyard wedding on September 10th. We recommend him without hesitation! His communication was prompt and thorough, he was reliable (arrived to the wedding site on time, learned the two songs we requested that were not on his playlist, played the songs we selected from his playlist, etc), and his playing was wonderful! Brian definitely was an important part of what made our day so special.

Brian played for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and even my not easily impressed relatives had high praise for his music. He has an extensive repertoire and is willing to learn new songs for a small fee. He's super friendly and easy to work with- we live out of state but connected a few times via phone and email. Brian also agreed to accompany my sister for a song during the ceremony, and he was really helpful in arranging the piece and finding a time for them to practice. He also showed up hours early to make sure his battery (which lets him play outside without running electrical cords) and speakers were set up properly and discretely. My husband's a productions guru and was really impressed by the quality of Brian's gear and set up. Brian does charge a fee to come to a dress rehearsal, which I passed on and in hindsight wish I'd done as I think that would have made the transitions during our wedding a little smoother. But I cannot overstate how beautiful he sounded - really the perfect sound for an outdoor wedding!

Brian was perfect for our ceremony music. He was very quick to respond with all questions. We were married in Georgetown, ME in September and he was prepared for any surprise (weather) and was ready to help. Luckily, it did not rain but we were never worried about how Brian would handle any situation. On the day of our wedding, he arrived, set up and was ready to go without us ever having to even think about it! His music was beautiful with the right tempo and volume. He also played during our hour-long brunch and was awesome! He is so kind and professional, and you almost do not know he is there (other than his beautiful music). Brian's guitar perfectly filled the room with lighthearted music and set the mood we all were looking for. Brian has a deep library of songs he has already perfected for you to choose from but was also able to accommodate a new one we requested and learn it in time for our wedding. The music really added to the ambiance of the day and our ceremony! Thank you so much Brian!

As the mother of the bride, we were looking for music that was classy and elegant, and Brian provided that for us. I was so happy to have Brian Callaghan a part of our day. Even though my husband and I did not hear all the music played before our ceremony, what we did hear was beautiful, and there was so much positive feedback from guests about our very talented musician/guitarist. Brian was very helpful from day one on choosing songs and very accommodating when wedding brain set in and I changed my mind on some song selections. The prices are very reasonable and for a small extra fee, Brian came to our rehearsal, and it made walking through everything that much easier. If you are looking for a musician for your day, and you are lucky enough to snatch up Brian to perform, go for it! You wont regret it!

We chose Brian to perform ceremony music and also a cocktail hour during the reception of our daughter's wedding in Portland. Brian was a joy to work with throughout the entire process, offering many suggestions for music choices. His responses to questions were extremely quick and his attention to detail was fabulous. His website offered many examples of his work and also provided samples for prelude and ceremony music. We would highly recommend Brian's music and vocals for any type of function. We look forward to seeing him perform again.

Hire Brian!

He is extremely talented, very responsive, easy to work with, and has an excellent selection of music. My guests RAVED to me about his playing an one guest even said it was the best ceremony music they had ever heard. I did hear a few songs and they were beautiful. We did a mix of guitar only and guitar + singing which was great for our guests.

Brian was an excellent addition to our wedding on Sebago Lake. He played beautiful music during both our ceremony and cocktail hour that added such ambiance to our event. Brian played ceremony music by finger style acoustic guitar for our wedding at The Inn by The Sea in Cape Elizabeth. He was very accommodating when requested to learn new music outside of his list which we greatly appreciated. Everyone enjoyed his music and we received several comments on how wonderful he was.

Brian is amazing. All of our guests loved him, he is wonderfully talented. He was so easy to work with, especially since we were planning from NJ...he was always so quick to respond to any questions. We loved him, he has a very eclectic mix of music available and even learned a few new songs per our request. Our first dance was so beautifully played and sung by Brian, we will remember it always as our favorite part of our wedding day.

My new husband and I got married last month in a little chapel, and hadn't even considered ceremony music until about 30 days before the wedding (oops!). We found Brian by doing a quick internet search, and we're SO HAPPY that we did! Brian responded immediately to my email, told me that he was available for our wedding day, and had us over to his house to meet and even played a bunch of songs for us. I only had a couple of songs in mind for the ceremony, and Brian was so helpful with giving us more ideas. The music Brian played at the ceremony was BEAUTIFUL!! (Jesu..., La Vie en Rose, Canon in D, Can't Help Falling in Love, Cheek to Cheek, and a mix of whatever he wanted - as instructed by us - for the prelude and postlude). I haven't seen the professional video yet, but I've heard some friends' cell phone videos and it was beautiful! (Of course I can't actually remember anything from when I started walking down the aisle!). Our friends and family loved the guitar!! Brian showed up early to start playing while the guests arrived, and stayed until all of the guests had left. He was super professional, friendly, pleasant, talented, and affordable! We would recommend Brian to anyone looking for guitar ceremony music!

Brian did an amazing job playing the guitar during our wedding ceremony. We received so many compliments on the music. He's a fantastic guitar player. We picked songs that weren't on his listed repertoire and he had no problem playing them. He was extremely professional, accommodating, and very friendly. We planned our wedding long distance and he was always quick to respond to my emails and he made all the planning very easy and enjoyable. I would highly recommend him! He was great to work with and his playing really is exceptional!

Brian played acoustic guitar for our 8/23/14 outdoor ceremony. We and our guests were extremely happy with the quality of the music, and I found Brian very easy to work with during the set up. He was very helpful in choosing songs and was willing to include all of our off-list requests. I booked Brian about 8 months beforehand and had no issues getting in touch when we got closer to the date, he was very responsive via phone and e-mail and even made the first contact to see what kind of music I was planning on. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Brian played guitar for our wedding ceremony in Kennebunkport on August 9. He was very easy to work with leading up the event, and was proactive with keeping in touch with us and in contacting the church. He plays a good selection of songs and sounded wonderful. Brian has a range of music that is impressive. We especially would recommend his jazz/classical music. Loved his instrumentals. Feel his music stands best on its own without vocals to really experience his guitar talents.

Brian was wonderful to work with for our wedding. He came highly recommended by our wedding venue Inn by the Sea.

We had a specific song that we wanted played for our ceremony and he was able to learn it no problem!

He was also very easy to work with over email (something I needed since I was so busy).

His price was also very reasonable.

I would recommend him for anyone who wants a guitar player for their wedding in the future!

Brian did an amazing job with the music. Our wedding ceremony was outside and the weather decided not to corporate. The venue was covered but there was still rain and wind. Brian did a great job playing through that! I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is looking for a wedding musician!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Brian for my best friend's wedding ceremony in Camden, Maine. She asked me to sing during the ceremony, so I needed to find someone in the area who could accompany me as well as perform music for the whole program. I came across Brian's website and was impressed with his repertoire and saw he'd received great reviews for previous events he'd performed at. He was extremely flexible, making time for a rehearsal with me before the wedding, and was great to work with. His rates were also very fair, and most importantly, he sounded wonderful and was the perfect addition to a beautiful, smallish outdoor ceremony. I would highly recommend working with him if you need a classical, jazz or contemporary guitarist at your event.

Brian is the best! If you are looking for a beautiful and classy musical experience coupled with outstanding vendor communication, look no further! We planned our Maine wedding from Seattle and Brian was our favorite of our vendors to work with. He made himself available, followed through on all of our questions and made us feel very comfortable with planning our music selections from cross country. We loved that Brian played beautifully and also had such an amazing voice! I loved his rendition of "Somewhere over the Rainbow," my absolute favorite. Several guests commented on what a great addition he was. Our only regret is that we didn't get to enjoy more of his music during our cocktail hour, since we were getting pictures taken during that time!

We hired Brian for a small event in September 2017. He was highly professional and responsive. He set-up well in advance of the wedding at the ceremony gazebo and separate cocktail hour location. He has an extensive list of music selections to choose from and he played the pieces we selected. His music nicely complimented our event and the venue. I would hire him again.

In 2007 Brian played classical guitar for my wedding. As the primary music provider during the ceremony, he was extremely flexible with our rustic venue. Brian had helped make our wedding day perfect. The acoustic guitar was a wonderful accompaniment to our small and intimate ceremony. Just felt that it was a bit overpriced for the total amount of time he had actually played. However, when it came to staying in contact with us as well as playing what we had requested he had gone above and beyond.
