Extremely talented photographer

My husband and I hired Brad to shoot our wedding at The Spring House on Block Island and a trash the dress shoot the morning after. Brad is an extremely talented photographer and is wonderful to work with. Brad provided recommendations and constant communication throughout the whole process. We couldn't be happier with the final pictures and would highly recommend Brad.

Incredible!

My husband and I cannot recommend Brad enough for a wedding photographer. Not only are the photos stunning, Brad and his second shooter, his wife, Sara are so easy to work with. Brad was responsive to all of our questions and made sure all timing and photo shot list details were organized before wedding day. Brad and Sara made the whole process on wedding day so easy and fun, it didn't feel like a chore to have photos taken at all. Highly recommend!!

Best Wedding Photographer!

From our very first conversation, we knew we wanted to work with Brad. He made us feel comfortable from the very beginning and was responsive and professional throughout the entire process. When it came to our engagement shoot, he suggested a few beautiful locations and we chose one that perfectly captured our personalities.

On our wedding was at the Spring House Hotel on Block Island, Brad and his wife Sara were an absolute dream team. They worked seamlessly together, ensuring we got all the important shots on our list while also blending into the background. It felt natural and relaxed, allowing us to truly enjoy our special day.

The best surprise? We received our wedding photos less than three weeks after the big day! And let me tell you, they are amazing. Brad and Sara captured the joy, romance, and every special detail and moment of our wedding with stunning artistry.

We are so grateful to Brad and Sara for their incredible work. They made the entire photography experience stress-free and enjoyable. Now, thanks to their talent, we can relive the magic of our wedding day through these beautiful photographs for years to come.

Couldn't be happier!

Brad and Sara photographed my 10/10 wedding and the outcome was absolutely perfect. Their laid back attitude makes them so comfortable and easy to work with. Great to coordinate with

I was coordinating with Sara, one half of the husband and wife photography duo. Sara is very fun, easy to talk to, and has lots of tips and tricks to make you comfortable. She is so easy to coordinate with and we had such a good time getting to know her. We ultimately decided to choose our friend to photograph our wedding, but I had such a good experience coordinating with and getting to know her that I had to leave a review.

Talented and professional!

My wife and I hired Brad and his partner, Sara, for the day of our wedding. Full transparency, this is the only vendor we booked without even having a face to face meeting. Needless to say, we were a little nervous about it, but Brad made a great impression over the phone! From the start, we really appreciated Brad and Sara’s relaxed and confident approach to the process. We met them a few weeks out to talk specifics and immediately felt validated in our decision. We talked about all of the must do shots, and some extra’s that we wanted just for us. They were extremely accommodating, and offered great suggestions that we used on the day of to make our pictures exactly what we expected. They even helped us to develop our timeline for the wedding. They came through particularly well during some shots we took following the first look. As my wife and I tested a lift we wanted to bust out during our first dance, the clasp on my wife’s wedding dress popped right off into the grass. Surprisingly calm, my wife and I looked for the clasp, and tried to figure out how to fix this quickly for more photos. Enter Sara: Before we knew it she sprung into action and began sowing the back of the dress back into place leaving plenty of time to get all the shots we wanted. This is just one example of how attentive they both were, and how easy they were to talk to and work with. After our wedding, Brad sent us a few teaser photos over the next couple of days and returned all of our photos (during busy season) beautifully finished and way faster than we expected. If you want two people that will make family photo’s a breeze, capture more moments instead of poses, work in all of your requests, take phenomenal pictures, and act as a flash seamstress when needed, look no further! You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day so it was important to us that our photographer took great photos and was also nice to be around. Brad was equal parts present/funny/calming, while also knowing when to give us space so we could soak in the day just the two of us.

There are good photographers, great photographers, and then there's Brad Smith, the greatest. Having briefly worked with Brad with Yelp, I knew he was not only an excellent photographer, but a really cool guy. When I got engaged, I knew that there was no one else that I would rather have photograph our wedding.

I remember telling Brad early on that James and I weren't the kind of couple that would be into cutesy poses, but after the post-ceremony oxytocin kicks in, and Brad gives the direction for a gentle kiss on the forehead, you're all about it, and it feels perfectly natural.

He will take advantage of the light, and weather to make sure you capture the most beautiful and romantic photos possible on your special day. Throughout the rest of the day, other than the obligatory posed photos, Brad is quietly doing his job, capturing both the ordinary and extraordinary moments with professionalism and skill beyond compare.
It's true that after the big day ends, all you're left with is the photos. It's worth investing in a photographer, like Brad, on whom you can depend to capture all of the moments you want to remember for a lifetime.

My husband and I could not be happier that we chose Brad to document our wedding weekend. He was referred to us by our wedding planner, who I depended on for most of our vendor decisions. After checking out his portfolio and a quick chat, I felt confident that we'd found our photographer. Brad joined us on Friday evening for our rehearsal dinner and again on Saturday for our entire wedding day. He was completely unobtrusive, which is important, but he was also super easygoing and a lot of fun to have around throughout the day, which in my opinion is even more important. Everyone was so at ease with him, which I truly think comes across in all of our photos. My favorite thing to hear from friends who weren't able to attend our wedding is how seeing our photos made them feel like they were there. He truly is that good at capturing the emotions from your wedding day. Brad's turnaround time for our photos was extremely quick (we got them while we were on our honeymoon about two or three weeks after our wedding), and the prints that I've received so far have been absolutely gorgeous. I would recommend Brad a million times over to anyone looking for a top-notch wedding photographer.

If you want to absolutely love your wedding photos, then work with Brad!! He is THE BEST. I did extensive research to find our wedding photographer (for our intimate elopement style wedding), looking at hundreds of photos, websites and pinterest profiles and Brad stood out as a creative genius! The best part about Brad, aside from his artistic talent of course, is his calming presence - he adds a layer of cool calm to your wedding day that can help soothe any worries you might have and relax on your special day. For example, I forgot my veil and started to panic, but Brad calmly told me everything was going to be ok, that I would still have awesome photos (and he was right!). He's the epitome of professional - very responsive and you can tell he truly cares about his clients. He really got to know my husband and I, which I appreciated. Brad's value is extraordinary - he captures these picture perfect moments while blending into the background so you don't even know he's photographing you. He truly respects the intimacy of the moments you have on your wedding day, while also producing spectacular images. In the days following our wedding, Brad sent us 'teaser photos' which I loved and in just 3 weeks, we received our entire online gallery. Working with Brad was a key component to our wedding day being such a success.

I saved this review until last because my husband and I both believe working with Brad was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. I am new to Rhode Island and found Brad simply by searching for wedding photographers. His work spoke for itself just based on his website alone. I immediately showed my now husband and we agreed to find out if he was available on our wedding date. Lucky for us, despite the wedding being only 8 months away, Brad had availability for our wedding. We scheduled to meet with him in his studio and he was incredibly accommodating to our time needs even when we had to reschedule due to illness. After meeting with Brad it was clear we didn't need to speak to anyone else. We booked immediately. Throughout the process Brad offered us helpful hints, scheduling ideas, and suggestions and was available for any questions we had. He even made recommendations for other vendors and we ultimately chose a florist he recommended. Brad was easy to work with and has a calm demeanor that allowed us to trust his judgement. I cannot say enough wonderful things about his talent, overall demeanor, and the help he provided to us throughout the planning phase. He essentially served as a coordinator throughout our wedding planning by providing questions to answer, things to think about that we wouldn't have considered, and sample timelines to go by. My suggestion to couples looking for a photographer is to save yourself some time and meet with him first, because you won't need to meet with anyone else.

My husband and I are so happy we chose Brad Smith as our photographer. We have received so many compliments! For our engagement photos he drove to Cape Cod and spent a generous amount of time with us, and on the wedding day he was there early and left late. He captured it all and we are so thrilled. Most of our friends had to wait months for their photos, but Brad had our wedding pictures up just a couple weeks after the wedding (and he gave us a sneak peek the day after our wedding of one of the wonderful photos he captured too!). My husband, John and I would recommend Brad Smith Photography to anyone who is looking for a truly amazing wedding photographer and all around great person to work with. Brad was so careful to ensure that he wasn't intruding on our special moments throughout the day, by not making us feel as though we were on camera at all times. My wedding party even complemented him, stating that 99% of the time they didn't even realize he was in the room, which made the photos even more spectacular! He was able to catch those special, meaningful moments, of family, friends and us as a couple, in the purist way possible. Brad, was also extremely quick and efficient in regards to getting us copies of our photos digitally just weeks after our wedding. Brad is the best! We had looked at a few photographers before deciding and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Brad made us both feel very comfortable; he is relaxed and funny and made our engagement photos and wedding day go very smoothly. Even with a rowdy bridal party Brad was able to keep everyone focused and got the shots that were important to us. Brad was recommended to us by my now sister-in-law (who is also a photographer). Of course, we took her up on her recommendation after seeing his other work. When we first met with Brad, I’ve never felt so comfortable. He was genuinely enthusiastic about our ideas and how we wanted our day captured. The day of the wedding, he blended right in. He was like a ninja! When we got our photos back, I swear he has the ability to be in two places at once without even being noticed! We live in CT and had our ceremony in CT and reception in NY. Brad was so kind to meet us halfway between RI and CT for our engagement shoot. He captured the best fall colors and lighting which made us so excited to have him as our professional for our wedding. On top of that, Brad was so easy to hang out with and continue conversations throughout the afternoon. This was extremely important to us as we knew we would be spending a lot of time with Brad on our wedding day. For our wedding weekend, he traveled to CT (his travel costs were extremely reasonable) and started the weekend with us at our welcome party. This was a great time for him to meet other family members before the big day. He also was able to check out our venue before the reception which was awesome. The wedding day was perfect and we loved having Brad around. His shots on the water were amazing which was so important to us as we grew up sailing together. He then gave us our final images in less than two weeks! My one recommendation to all brides is to give a shot list of shots you must have prior to the big day as it is so easy to forget during all the chaos. Thanks for everything Brad!

Brad took photographs at our elopement ceremony in Newport, RI and the whole experience was first class! Brad arrived early to make sure he was there as soon as we were ready for him. He shot photos during our ceremony and then we spent about an hour with him going to different spots in Newport for more photos. Brad and I had spoken ahead of time to map out a basic plan for the locations but that evening he was flexible and added a few additional spots in. Our session was fun and relaxed and Brad did everything possible to make sure that we enjoyed our evening! And above all else, the photos were stunning! He captured great moments during the ceremony and had an amazing eye for backdrops that would look fantastic in pictures. I can not stop looking at all the photos! I would recommend Brad to anyone who is looking for a supportive and helpful photographer and amazing memories captured in your photos!

I found Brad Smith after googling my wedding venue, his pictures stood out to me every time. I am so happy with my engagement and wedding photos. The pictures bring me back to each moment, especially the candid moments, that now I will never forget. Brad and his assistant where everywhere, though on the sly I barely noticed them, but they caught everything, all the beautiful moments, hugs, and laughs that I will surely never forget. Pictures are the most valuable thing containing all the memories.

My husband and I just received our wedding photos this week, and we are absolutely thrilled! Booking Brad as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. After all planning is over and the memories have been made, I cannot stress enough how much it means to be able to relive the day. Brad was somehow able to capture each moment flawlessly. Every time I scroll through the photos (which I already have numerous times), I feel like I am still experiencing all the beauty, all the fun, all the detail, and all the emotion of the day. Brad did not miss anything, and every single photo is stunning! He has an incredible gift of being to capture sooo many perfect candid moments as well as shots that have incredible depth and magnificent backgrounds. We’ve already posted a few pictures online and immediately my friends and family started raving about the “talented photographer”. And not only is his work outstanding, but so is he. My husband and I used Brad Smith to shoot our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made that day. Everyone says your wedding flies by and you need to take a moment here and there to enjoy it. Honestly, I don't know how people truly stop to do this because you are going nonstop until the night ends. I was extremely happy we hired Brad because he captured every moment that we experienced and that we missed, beautifully. Brad is actually the best. I know I could be considered biased, but I’m still holding on to that card that says brides are always right ;-) We started looking for photographers pretty early on in the process, and ended up going with Brad because the focus seemed to be on the candid shots. He takes gorgeous posed and portrait photos but we were really impressed with the photos that really captured the action and emotion of the wedding. We did our engagement shoot with him, and the compliments we got on our “Save the Date” and other photos (and how much we loved them!) confirmed that we had made the right choice for the wedding. And the wedding photos…seriously, he nailed it. Laughter, nostalgia, pride, love, silliness – you can see it all in these pictures. We get to relive our wedding through these photos of us and our favorite people in these beautifully captured moments. Most of the time we didn’t realize they were right there with us (a good thing for someone who loves candids!), but as the bride and groom, we did spend a lot of time with Brad and Trevor and we could not have asked for cooler guys to hang out with. They were relaxed and fun and the times where it was just the four of us were some of my favorite memories from the day! So, if you’re hesitating about a photographer, stop, and book Brad. You’ll spend money, but what you’ll get back could never have a price tag!

Booking Brad as our wedding photographer was without question the best decision we made in all our wedding planning. From our initial meeting with him to discuss our vision/expectations, right up to receiving the photos after the wedding, he was super easy to work with and communicative.

For most of the wedding day we didn’t even realize he was there, as he was able to capture every moment without being in the way. We received the proofs less than a month after the wedding and WOW. They were worth every dollar. He captured so many moments that I didn’t even realize happened that day. Emotions and joy seemed to burst from the photos and looking through them, it felt like we were reliving the day all over again.

Can't say enough good things about Brad! If you have the chance to work with him BOOK HIM ASAP! We absolutely loved working with him. We had a great time getting to know him for our engagement shoot and were blown away by his work. By our wedding day he felt like an old friend and it was such a joy to have him and Angie with us. They chose such great locations for our shots and were so helpful with managing all of the family and friends for group photos. Brad did an AMAZING job capturing our wedding!! He was an absolute delight to work with and our pictures are stunning. Brad has a very calm demeanor which helps you keep calm on what might otherwise be a stressful day. He arrived early and was all ready to go. He took a lot of really cool shots and now my biggest problem is deciding which ones I will blow-up and put in our book! During the ceremony he was so unobtrusive that I was shocked by some of the photos he captured, not realizing he'd been taking them. I can not say enough good things about my experience with Brad and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for the perfect photographer.

All of my family and coworkers that have had the pleasure of viewing my album are raving about how vibrant the colors are, how compact the album is and (most importantly) how wonderful the shoots turned out! Brad was very easy-going and a pleasure to work with. From our 1st face-to-face meeting to all the back and forth emails and phone calls up to the day of the wedding, Brad made me feel at ease in understanding that he had everything under control. He customized my pictures and album to fit the vision I had for my special day and he nailed it, spot on! His final product was spectacular! The album was done and delivered in a timely fashion. Upon arrival, I was impressed with the high quality, although I expected nothing less from him. The album was the perfect size and the rest of the pictures were delivered in an engraved cedar box with a matching wood-engraved USB drive. Couldn't be happier with our decision to have Brad Smith Photography for our wedding.

We heard about Brad Smith though a friend, and after our first meeting with him we knew he was the photographer we wanted to hire to capture our wedding. We'd seen some of his work so knew the quality of his photos based on his website and blog, but beyond that, Brad is easy-going, kind, and fun! It was clear from our first meeting that we would be able to work with him without feeling uneasy or anxious in front of the camera. For our engagement photo session, it felt more like spending the day with an old friend, and the photos came out amazing.

After seeing just the few preview photos that Brad shared with us from our recent wedding, we are completely amazed at the moments Brad captured, and the quality of the pictures. Every friend or family member who has seen the photos has sung Brad's praise and all are looking for opportunities to utilize Brad Smith Photography for future events.

I can't say one bad thing about our overall experience with Brad, and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer in the New England area!

Unfortunately the star rating system only allows me to give Brad 5 stars in each category - so hopefully this review will help reflect the complete satisfaction my wife and I feel towards working with Brad.

From our initial contacts with Brad, the engagement shoots, and the actual wedding, Brad has been nothing short of outstanding to deal with. From our first interaction with Brad, his easy-going demeanor made it feel like we were connecting with a long-lost friend. We were encouraged to just be ourselves, and he (and Gabby) almost as an extension of ourselves, managed to capture every important moment our big day.

I am a fortunate in that my wife is already beautiful, but he somehow managed to make her even more radiant in our photos.

We continue to receive compliments on our photos - and have absolutely zero reservations about referring Brad to anyone.

Brad is amazing! He did our engagement and wedding photographs and we cannot say enough good things about him. We are in love with every picture he took. My husband keeps telling me I can't say every photo is my favorite :-) but I can't stop! Right after meeting him we were sold. He is fun, relaxed, and an over all great person. He asked questions and got the feel for what we were looking for and we let him take it from there - and the results were perfect! The photos are beautiful, natural, relaxed, and fun. We've had a great time looking at them over and over again.

My husband and I can't say enough about Brad. Having hired him to take both our engagement and wedding pictures was the best decision we made. We had seen pictures of a wedding he had photographed through a friend, and knew instantly that we wanted to hire him. The quality of his photographs is truly amazing. We were so impressed with his work during our engagement session that asking him to also photograph our wedding was a given. His ability to capture moments and work with light are unbelievable. In addition to his abilities, Brad is simply a wonderful and reliable person to have with you on your wedding day. His second child was born the morning of our wedding, and somehow, without any sleep the night before, Brad still made it to our ceremony and reception to take the best pictures we could have asked for. His backup photographers emulate the same relaxed but efficient and comfortable vibe that Brad gives off, which was also a nice bonus. Afterwards, we received our pictures and beautiful album quickly and efficiently. We have recommended him to several friends throughout the last year and a half, and will continue to do so! Brad and his team are very talented. Not only were we thrilled with the pictures but we also really appreciated his laid back style. He did such a great job at putting us at ease and making it a collaborative effort. He makes sure that you are aware that you can always say no to a picture if you are in the middle of something :) (But word of advice, if Brad tells you he can get a great shot, go! He is so sensitive about timing and knows you want to get back to the party, but more importantly, he captured some stunning shots!) We will always look back on our pictures and smile!

Brad is a phenomenal photographer. We had such a great time working with him both for our engagement shoot and our wedding. We had less-than-optimal weather on both days - it rained on our wedding day - but Brad did a great job getting some amazing shots and we couldn't be happier. We hardly knew he was there at the wedding - he doesn't get in your face with the camera but still gets beautiful shots. He really has a talent for capturing peoples' emotions as well as the little details. If we could do it all over again, we would absolutely go with Brad again - no question about it. My husband and I can't say enough about Brad. From our first meeting to our engagement session to our wedding day, he has been truly outstanding. We've all been to weddings where the photographers are snapping away and blocking guests' views. Brad got beautiful, natural shots during the ceremony and reception... and my husband and I didn't even know he was there! He does a wonderful job of blending in and just letting the day unfold. We feel so lucky to have had him as our photographer for our big day!
On top of his great photography, Brad is super responsive and just a complete pleasure to work with overall. Not only would I recommend him to a friend (and I have), but we will see him again soon for my sister's wedding!

Brad is fantastic! He was so great to work with, made the pictures fun and really captured our personalities in them from what we have seen so far! Everything is very natural, creative, and in the moment. My husband, being a graphic designer, was a bit more picky and particular about the pictures than I was and he has said multiple times how much he loves the pictures and how awesome Brad was! Living in New York with little connection to Rhode Island vendors, TJ and I spent a lot of time researching photographers for our wedding being held at Linden Place in Bristol. After reviewing countless local photographers, we were thrilled to come across Brad’s website and immediately, we were drawn to his overall style and taste. Often times wedding photography can feel overly posed and in my opinion dull. Brad’s unique style captures natural moments using a documentary approach. Our wedding photos were stunning and had a high-end magazine feel (ladies you know what we’re talking about). Additionally, Brad is a sincere, professional guy which made working with him very easy. Brad's service was impeccable. He showed up early (with an assistant) and stayed late. The quality of his images was stunning. And he was quite open to any ideas that came up on the fly and didn't stick to just simple, classical shots.

Brad and I met for coffee to talk about my wedding plans. From the
moment I sat down at his table, I knew I wanted him to be my photographer. Brad has this very calming demeanor that could relax any nervous bride. My instincts told me he would be wonderful to work with leading up to the wedding. I loved the idea of Brad taking our engagement photos to really get to know Nick and I as a couple prior to the actual wedding. We had the best time at Sakonnet Vineyards!

Brad's service exceeded our expectations along with our guests who raved how amazing he was on our special day!

I don’t think of Brad as a photographer, but rather an artist who creates for special moments that last a lifetime. He captured so many moments and transformed them into a piece of art.

Brad was simply a joy to work with, and perhaps the best vendor choice we made. His photographs speak for themselves - ours were simply stunning. He captured everything that was important - the smiles on our family's faces, our reactions to the speeches, my parents laughing during the ceremony, our beautiful flowers and the gorgeous fall foliage - we could not have asked for more.

Perhaps even more importantly, though, we LOVED having him spend our wedding day with us - he was just such a fun, laidback photographer. (We spent some time before the ceremony shooting at a local prep school campus, and we did not stop laughing the entire time.)

Finally, Brad's prices are very reasonable - and it made us very happy to know that our money was going to someone we really really like!

I knew from the first day I saw his work, that he had the vision I wanted for our wedding. He brings a beautiful and candid element to each picture he takes. With regard to professionalism and flexibility, he was open to suggestion, ready for our creativity, had his own genius ideas, and when hes working you don’t even know he is there! It made for some amazing candid photos of the day. He really has the ability to put you at ease and make being in front of a camera feel comfortable.

We had so many guests comment on how great and "cool" Brad was at the wedding. The guests really loved his friendly,calm, and professional demeanor, as well as his amazing stealth ability, and sense of humor. On such a stressful day, it was great to have someone who already knew what they were doing, and was calm and put together. It really made my day go alot more smooth. I would recommend Brad to anyone who wants something more than the average wedding photographer!

We are beyond pleased with Brad's work. He is unobtrusive yet managed to capture all of the wonderful moments and emotions of our day. His professional and relaxed demeanor was such a relief on what could have been a very hectic and stressful day. We had a somewhat brief window for formals, and he managed the time perfectly. His use of a second photographer is so valuable - I love that we have photos of both of us getting ready separately before the wedding. He took the time to find out what we wanted, and remembered some requests that I had made for certain photos. He is easy to work with, is passionate about his work, and takes amazing photos. We could not have hired a better photographer for our wedding!!!!! Brad clearly loves his job (not something that can be said about every wedding photographer out there!) and it shows in work. He went over and above in everything- he even remembered my husband saying how much he loves the fish-eye lens effect from our first meeting, and rented one for our wedding! His photojournalistic style was completely unobtrusive and a beautiful blend of everything from family formals to the little details I spent hours making. We couldn't be happier with the storybook album we will have for years to come that truly captured our day. Thank you, Brad!

Let me start by saying the 5 star ratings you see above are COMPLETLY justified. We started planning with Brad well in advance, he was on time for our meetings over the phone, and on site, always professional, courteous, and open to any and all of our ideas/visions. The day of the wedding he arrived before my husband (lol)and layed out his plan for us. He brought another shooter who added his own arti stic eye and was able to capture the essence of the ceremony full circle. I would have recommended him to anyone based on this, however Brad had another rabbit in his hat. We reviewed all the proofs one by one and selected what we felt would fit into our album, he took our selection and created a story with out words. My husband and I look at our album and re-live our special day over and over again, from the prenuptual meeting on the beach, through the ceremony, dinner, and of course cake and dancing. If you are after a photographer, there are about a million out there, I talked to about half of them...if you want someone to capture the memories of your special day that you can cherish forever, Brad Smith is the right choice.

Brad is very good at what he does! I felt that he really got to know my husband and I and learned how we photograph best. I was so impressed by all of the pictures he took! My wedding day was so hectic and kind of a blur so having all of the memories from that day in pictures is great! Brads prices are also very reasonable compared to many other local photographers and for the pictures you receive it is well worth what you spend!! I have already recommended
him to other friends to use for their wedding day!

Brad was great to work with. My husband hates having his picture taken, but Brad made us both feel so comfortable during the couple shoot that it felt relaxed and fun for both of us--stress free! He went through the formal shots quickly but creatively and professionally, and during the reception we hardly noticed him in the background getting candid shots. It felt like having one more friend at our wedding. Brad was super flexible, and just the right balance of doing whatever we wanted and having plenty of ideas of his own. The pictures turned out lovely (I can't believe how relaxed I look!)
