Beautiful!

Our cake was included in our venues wedding package and after trying out a few bakeries, we went with bovella’s. They had so many options to choose from and made our design idea come to life wonderfully.

Amazing Cake

Having Bovella's as my neighborhood bakery I knew they had to provide my wedding cake - specifically, their rainbow cookie cake. I cannot describe how seamless the process was and how perfect the cake ended up being!! It was a dream working with them. They also provided the challah which was a hit.

Funfetti Wedding Cake Dream

I grew up loving Bovella's cookies knowing that they HAD to do my wedding cake. We tried other bakeries Funfetti cake and fudge filling, but NOTHING compared to Bovella's. The cake decor is exactly what I dreamed of with fun confetti sprinkles. Look no further for a cake!

Beautiful and Delicious!

We used Bovella's for our wedding cake in June 2019. The cake was included as part of our package with Clarks Landing, but we could not have been happier with how the cake turned out! I've had a lot of mediocre wedding cake, but once we went to the tasting, I knew that that would not be the case for our cake. We chose a vanilla cake with layers of cream cheese and chocolate fudge filling and it was so incredible! This definitely did not taste like dry "wedding cake." We received many compliments on how good the cake tasted! I showed Bobby a picture of what I had in mind, and he fully captured my vision and the cake was beautiful.

The team ar Bovella's in Moutainside are great! This is the only bakery my venue The Channel Club in Monmouth Beach uses, and I understand why. Fred has been using the same bakery for over 35 years now, and they proved themselves again at my wedding on 9/23/18. The guests said my cake tastes amazing, I couldn't eat it bc it wasn't gluten free, but they made me my own small GF cake so my husband could feed me a bite at our wedding. It was delicious it even had the same filling as our big cake! And they made 2 so I could eat another one for breakfast the next morning before our honeymoon! My cake was beautiful and they executed it well! When they delivered they cake to my venue. Fred came to get my to show me how he would fix the flowers and decorate it as I wanted.

The team at Bovella's made the most amazing cake for our wedding. They listened to all of our requests and not only did it look fantastic, but it tasted fantastic as well! The cake looked stunning in photos and you could tell all the extra detail and effort they put into their work. Not to mention, after following their instructions for preserving and freezing the top tier, the cake actually tasted just as amazing on our first anniversary! Highly recommend - they are the best!

Our venue (Clark’s Landing) utilized Bovella’s for their wedding cakes. EVERYONE LOVE THE CAKE AND DESIGN!
We received so many compliments. So, I had to change the cake tasting a few times to accommodate my crazy schedule. They were so easy to work with. The cake tasting was fun, so many options. The cake was beautiful. The gentleman who was making our cake personally came out to discuss what we wanted. We were very simple in our needs. We looked through a few photo albums he had on hand of his work, and actually choose one he did. I think that was our best bet, because we knew he could do it, and we knew what it looked like. THANK YOU FOR A BEAUTIFUL CAKE!

Our wedding venue works closely with Bovella's so we used them for our cake. The tasting was fun and very laid back. The decorator was open to our design ideas and the finished product was beautiful and delicious! Definitely recommend them.

When we found out Bovellas was included in our venue package, we couldn't believe it. We though we were going to be stuck with the dry, icky wedding cakes you usually get from places like Palermos, but instead we got our favorite bakery. Not only was the cake amazing, but we had people telling us left and right that it was the best wedding cake they had ever had. We almost ran out of cake because of so many people asking the waitstaff for seconds. If you want good cake, and you have a choice, you should use this bakery.

I didn't work directly with Bovella's as my venue made those arrangements for me. However, I provided my venue with a picture of what I liked and the day of my wedding I was beyond ecstatic to see Bovella's version of it. It was amazingly beautiful and as whimsical as I had hoped for. My guests all loved it and said that the cake was delicious. We chose yellow cake with raspberry and fudge filling with a buttercream icing. Yum!

We had a vision in mind for our wedding cake.....when meeting with Bobby he brought that vision to life. He made us feel at ease in our initial conversation and we didn't think twice about the cake being perfect! Bobby even called the night before saying he thought something would look even better, and we were on board about letting him tweak the cake. When we saw it the next day, it was gorgeous!!! Not only did it look gorgeous, but it tasted phenomenal! Also, it was my grams 100th birthday, and he provided us with a cake for her as well! We were able to sing Happy Birthday to her with a perfect cake! We cant thank Bovella's enough!!!!

Our wedding cake was a dream come true!!! Bovellas Pastrie Shoppe honored all of our requests. We had a very particular cake in mind. A traditional wedding cake but we wanted and needed a cake that was traditional white but also chocolate,we brought our ideas to Bobby and he produced the best cake we have ever seen or eaten. 5 tier half traditional white half chocolate with chocolate covered strawberries on each tier. Our guests could not stop talking about and taking pictures of our wedding cake.
Thank you for making our wedding day SO perfect!

Bovella's Bakery went above and beyond to create the wedding cake of our dreams. They were recommended to us by our venue, and we are so happy that we used them. For our tasting, they presented a ton of different options, and were flexible in helping us choose and create a design that we loved. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the cake design, and the flavor of the cake as well. We will be using them again for any upcoming events, and we would absolutely recommend, 5/5 stars!

Without a doubt 5 stars! Bovella's was so flexible with our tasting and met all of our requests for both our wedding cake and our surprise groom's cake. We received SO many compliments on the taste of the cake as well as the appearance. Many of our guests told us it was the best wedding cake they have ever tasted....we agree!

Our wedding cake was from Bovella's. We had a very short time for the wedding cake, but Bobby really made it happen. Cake was BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS beyond my expectations. If you are looking for GREAT experience and that too NOT overpriced, I would definitely recommend you talking to Bovella's !!

Our cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted down to the green leaves on the flowers. We wanted navy piping around the cake, but they realized the navy looked black, so instead they opted for ribbon. It was beautiful! And they didn't charge for an extra tier :)

Bovella's has made my cake for every event since my christening, so I knew they'd be making my wedding cake too. They never disappoint. It was an Italian rum cake with extra rum, decorated traditionally all in white as I wanted (they can do trendy too), with our own Royal Doulton figurine on top. We didn't save the top layer (who wants stale frozen cake?) - instead Bovella's promised us a free small cake on the house on our first anniversary! We also ordered trays of Italian cookies to put on every table, so that our guests would have something to nibble during the hours between entree and cake.

My venue worked with Bovella's to provide my wedding cake for my wedding on 9/20/2015. At first, I was nervous because I was unsure if they would be able to make the cake how I want and I was a little underwhelmed by the cake tasting with not having many options to choose from. However, Bobby exceeded my expectations and did an amazing job. He was very nice, took off the extra fee for the filling we wanted, and best of all our cake came out beautiful! It looked like a cake I would see in magazines and it tasted even better. It is not often that you hear guest discussing how amazing the cake tasted. I was able to taste it the next day and it was just as amazing as my guest told me. I am so happy I did not choose another vendor to make my cake.

They were actually included with my venue so I was expecting a basic cake. I was completely amazed when I saw this amazingly beautiful cake that what was exactly what I asked for. It tasted even better than it looked and I had so many compliments. My husband and I can't wait until our anniversary to taste it again.

Our venue used this bakery as their vendor and we had no choice but to use them. But I have absolutely no complaints! We got married in NJ, but had moved to Long Island and the planning process was a little difficult since we could only be present on the weekends. We ended up not doing a tasting because we were too far away. The bakery responded quickly to my emails and calls and tried work with us to get us samples, but our schedules just didn't allow it. So we blindly selected cake flavors and fillings and it was delicious! The cake was beautifully decorated and I wish I was able to eat more of it!

I cannot brag enough about the outstanding job that Bobby (pastry chef) from Bovella's Pastry Shoppe did on our wedding cake. From the moment we met with him, we literally felt like we were part of the family. He took the time to sit with us and listen to our initial ideas about our wedding cake, then took us through step by step the planning process of making this an exceptional wedding cake. He worked with extreme professionalism as we discussed not only cake, filling and icing, but also the shape, detailed designs, fondant accents, etc. When we say that he brought our "cake to life," we mean it! The magnificent beauty and splendor of the cake was commented on by all and the taste of the cake was "dreamy." The cake truly made our wedding a fairy tale! Thank you to all of the staff at Bovella's Pastry Shoppe. Truly an outstanding bakery!!! We highly recommend them!

Our wedding cake and pastries were from Bovella's. Not only did it look amazing but it also tasted delicious. I have never went to a wedding where the cake tasted as good as this! Our cake from Bovella's was included with our reception package with The Berkeley Plaza. I am so very happy it was. Even though I grew up in Union, I had never heard of Bovella's before. We went there one night to check it out and as soon as I walked in I knew this place was heaven. Growing up Italian, the amazing smells of the cookies and cakes made me feel like a little kid. We did a tasting with Bobby, who was our cake baker and decorated and he is just such a sweet man and so incredibly talented. Our cake was not only delicious but so beautiful. And Bobby did everything he could to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. He even texted me the day before the wedding (after asking if I would be okay with that, which I really appreciated) to make sure that he the right idea of what I wanted my cake to look like and confirm he had all of the items I dropped off (ribbon, pearl brooch, etc). Also, on top of the cake, they provided pastries for the table at the reception and every single one of them were amazing and soooooo delicious. Amazing old school family bakery. I definitely recommend.

The cake was delicious. My guest loved the cake. We chose vanilla cake with cream cheese and raspberry filling (great combination). We also had chocolate cake with custard but I'm not a fan of chocolate cake so I didn't try it but I heard nothing but great things about the cake. They also provide an anniversary cake which I thought was awesome.

I was so pleased with my wedding cake not only was it delicious but beautiful as well. Instead of spending money on a cake topper the baker suggested since i was doing strawberry shortcake to do chocolate covered strawberries that looked like a bride and groom. They were awesome!!!!

We used Bovella's through our venue, The WestWood. Our cake was included in our contract with the Westwood.

We met Ralph, the owner (or one of them? Not sure). He sat down with us and let us taste multiple different types of icing and cakes. He walked us through pictures of what they have done in the past. He also helped us design our own special cake!

The day of the wedding, the cake look BEAUTIFUL. It was exactly what we wanted. We chose a Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. It was delicious. We had many compliments from our guests!

Ralph was also very responsive to us, as we had a guest who has severe allergies to Latex. We requested that at no point during the process of making the cake that latex come in contact with the cake. He of course, complied with our request.

I would highly recommend this bakery, even outside of their contract with the Westwood.

My husband and I were thrilled with our wedding cake. The staff at Bovellas Bakery was truly a pleasure to work with during our planning process. We ordered a 4 tier cake with a variety of fillings. It was delicious!!! We received many compliments from our family and friends. When we went to Bovellas for our cake tasting, the baker was happy to answer any questions and took his time with us. It was greatly appreciated and we enjoyed every minute!

Our venue uses Bovella's Bakery for their wedding cakes. My husband is on a temporary duty out of the country and when he was home over the summer, our schedule was all over the place and Bovella's was completely flexible and accommodating with us. Bobby met with us and completely understood the vision for the cake we wanted! Not only that, the cakes that we tested were delicious. When I walked into our reception, the first thing I notice was our cake. It was EXACTLY what I had pictured and requested! I would highly recommend Bovella's for wedding cakes.

Our wedding cake was so good. All of our guest complimented us on our wedding cake. They were also flexible when we wanted to add another tier to the cake. They were also very accomadating to allergies. Everything was perfect the day of. I can't wait to eat our cake on our anniversary.

We just got married at the end of September and our wedding cake (which was a small six inch cake along with 200 cupcakes) was done by Bovellas. We provided the cupcake tower for the Big Day to show off a portion of the cupcakes. The cupcakes we selected were half Funfetti, half chocolate, but there were a few other choices that we had to pick from (such as red velvet and vanilla). The cupcakes were beautiful on the outside and super moist on the inside. The frosting was delicious and not overly sweet and each cupcake was decorated with a gorgeous red frosting rose. All of our guests complimented on how great they thought the cupcakes were. And out of 200 cupcakes originally at the reception, we only had about 8 left over to take home at the end of the night. I would definitely recommend Bovellas for wedding cakes (or in our case cupcakes) to couples who are getting married.

We moved to California a few months before the wedding and had to plan the rest of our logistics three hours away in another time zone. Because they're up in Westfield, and our venue and home base in NJ was down in South Jersey, it was easy to forget about all the cake logistics. However, Ralph at Bovella's was extremely understanding and accommodating - they sent a tasting plate down to the venue one weekend when we were back in NJ, which was much closer to us than the bakery. They took our (east coast) late night calls when we forgot about the time difference, and checked with us multiple times to make sure everything was perfect. We sent over several different pictures of cakes that we liked, and what we liked about them, and trusted the rest to Bovella's. With all the last minute details we had to take care of, everything else about the cake sort of slipped our mind once we got back to NJ. When we saw the cake on our wedding day, it was more beautiful than we could have even imagined. It had three different flavored fillings, and everyone was raving about how delicious it was. Our wedding cake from Bovella's was amazing! My husband and I really enjoyed the tasting, and Ralph was very flexible when it came time to decide on fillings and design. We ended up having chocolate cake with three layers of filling, two chocolate mousse and one chocolate fudge. There were plenty of cake styles to choose from in their albums, but we ended up using a picture I found in a magazine. The cake was simple and elegant looking, and absolutely delicious!

My husband and I got our wedding cake at Bovella's Bakery and it was absolutely perfect. I provided Ralph a picture of what I wanted my cake to look like and I couldn't believe how amazing it looked when I saw it on my wedding day. From professionalism, to the look of the cake, to the taste of the cake, my husband and I could not have been happier. Don't sacrifice look or taste, go to the bakery that can provide both, that's Bovella's!!

I might be a little biased because my husband and I had our first date, and got engaged at Bovella's, but regardless of all of that, our wedding cake was incredible! Our wedding package actually included a cake, but we chose to get our cake from Bovella's anyway, and I could not be happier! From the initial cake tasting, I could not wait to eat it on our wedding day, and my sweet tooth was certainly pleased. The cake looked gorgeous, they created it to be exactly what we envisioned. And I would highly recommend cannoli filling and fresh whipped cream icing. This cake was one of my favorite parts of my wedding!! Thanks Ralph and everyone at Bovella's!

Cake tasted amazing!!! we choose strawberry short cake because we had a mid summer wedding and we wanted something light a fluffy for guest, so they can actually eat it after the all the food! well most of our guest wanted seconds! delicious!!

We attended a wedding last year that had a Bovella's cake, and it was the best wedding cake we'd had to date- not too sweet and the cake was so fluffy! We had our wedding at the Channel Club and were delighted when we found out that their catering group uses Bovella's for wedding cakes at the venues.

Tastings are Tuesday-Thursday 4-6, so you may need to plan ahead to schedule a tasting if you do not work close by.

The tasting was pretty thorough. The baker explained what types of cake/fillings/frostings/design complexities were included with our catering package, and what would be extra. Then he gave us each a plate of cakes, fillings and frostings, and let us taste and discuss everything. We picked our cakes, fillings and frostings and gave him a picture and description of what we'd like for our design. The cake was so pretty and tasty. We can't wait to have some more on our 1-year anniversary!

Cake was amazing. I drew out the cake myself, handed them the drawing, and voila! They brought my cake to life. Cake was absolutely delicious and received many compliments on it. Definitely recommend this bakery. They also have a little cafe where you can do taste testing while chatting and having a nice late. Westfield is also my home town and very nice to walk through, nice shops, people, etc.

My husband and I booked Bovellas to make our wedding cake for our 9/1/13 Wedding through our venue, The Berkeley Plaza. Our 3-tier cake was included in our wedding package. But from beginning to end Bovellas were great and exceeded ALL expectations.

The owner Ralph, was great to work with. The rest of the staff was also very friendly and helpful when you called with questions. The tasting was so much fun and everything was delicious! We were able to pick the cake, filling and icing for all of the layers as well as design the outside of the cake itself. Booking through a wedding venue I did not think we would have many options with the cake. But when we arrived at Bovellas they provided us with so many options. They even let us add our special touches. Our cake came out BEAUTIFUL and everyone told us how delicious it was.

Bottom line...they made it fun to pick out a wedding cake and I would definitely recommend them to any bride!

I am a picky bride when it comes to cake! Bovella's made me a "funfetti" cake to die for. It was beautifully decorated and fit our personalities to a tee. The cake was moist and delicious! My guests are still raving about it. We cant wait to eat it again on our anniversary!!

They were associated w my vendor the Channel Club. We went and had a tasting to choose the cake we wanted and gave them an idea for the type of cake we wanted. We had a beach themed wedding. The cake we got at our wedding was not only amazingly beautiful it tasted amazing too!! The "upcharge" was soo nominal it didn't even make us second think it and now we are spoiled for any other bakery out there!!!

Bobby was the baker of my wedding cake and did a great job. The cake was decorated exactly as I was hoping and it even tasted good! He bakes his cakes the night before so it is still fresh. I had whipped cream icing and it still was moist not stale at all.

We got our wedding cake from Bovella's because our venue Clark's Landing works with them. OH MY GOD! Our wedding cake was just perfect, stunning and classy! Everyone was commenting on how beautiful it was. It was exactly what I wanted, plus more!!! The cake itself was just delicious too! People are still raving about how delicious it was! I can not say enough amazing things about this Bakery! The people were amazing to work with and so helpful. We met with Ralph, and he was just awesome! Our wedding cake from Bovella's was amazing. They were extremely accommodating to meet us on a weekend to help create the perfect "gaming/comic book/geeked out" wedding cake we could imagine. We had envisioned a simple cake with our different cake topper (Spider-Man and Princess Lea BobbleHeads); however, they created a duel cake for us. One half of the cake was red and blue with spiderwebs and the other half was a dark sky with stars all around it. It was simply amazing. And when we needed a last minute change, they made it even better than imagined.

If you need the perfect wedding cake, go to Bovella's. They will make your vision a reality.

Absolutely fantastic cake....The best part is for the decorations, I told them to do whatever they wanted and I was fine with it, and man was I ever! Gorgeous cake we got that was every piece awesome and delicious. I am looking forward to eating the top of my anniversary toppers at our one year mark! They were super nice and very patient with my ever demanding family, it turned out better than I thought it would be like. The cookie trays that were prepared for each table was just as amazing.

Bovella's Pastry Shoppe of Westfield, NJ was incredible. They were extremely professional and efficient with there services. They had delivered and worked with my reception hall before and there reputation held true. Our cake was breath taking. It was exactly what my husband and I wanted and it was incredibly delicious. Our guests are still raving about the cake!! It was a white and chocolate cake with canoli frosting! (yes, we are italian). But regardless it was a perfect blend of flavors.

For our design we wanted a simple scroll with some ribbon as a liner around the three tiers however we wanted it to be done with real frosting not the trendy sugar coating they put on these days. And Bovella's was sure to meet each of our request and made a stunning looking cake with regular frosting!!

I knew once we placed our cake order we were in good hands. I never had to check on them to see how things were going because the communicated the process to us on our first visit. I highly suggest using them if you can!!

Bovella's in Westfield is the bakery that is contracted to do pastry work for The Berkeley Plaza (our vendor), but had they not been, we would have selected them anyway for our cake.

They worked with us in making our cupcake tower cake happen, in addition to making us a small cake for the cake cutting ceremony.

There's a reason why they've been in business forever - they are simply the best. They were incredibly easy to work with, VERY flexible, and were accommodating 100% of the way. I'm happy we live close by so we can enjoy their delicious treats every day, not just on our wedding day.

Delicious! Ralph was great to work with, friendly, flexible, and quick. We showed up for our appointment. He handed us a binder of all the cakes they do, a tasting plate, and left us alone to discuss and decide what we wanted. Yummy! Careful though, I got a bit of a bellyache from eating so much frosting. We were able to piece together elements from a couple of the cakes in the binder to create our own. We had black and white cake layers, canolli (spellling?) cream filling and whipped cream icing. Did I mention how good the cake tasted? Our guests raved about it too.

Thank you Bovella's!!! The wedding cake was delicious! It was really well decorated and worked with the simplicity and rose theme we had. It was a great experience, from the moment we went there for the taste testing and spoke with Bobby to the wedding day.

But Bovella's Pastry Shoppe gets two thumbs up and a whole lot of gratitude for the wonderful gluten free groom's cake they made for my husband, Tom. We were concerned about the whole cake thing since my husband has a gluten allergy so when we found out Bovella's makes flour-less cakes we jumped on that and had a separate cake made just for Tom. That too was delicious and everyone at the wedding loved how it was decorated! We brought home the remaining cake and every time Tom opens the freezer he has to have some cake. And that's a big deal since he really isn't into desserts.

We loved our cake from Bovellas! Ralph went through everything with us, explained the process and helped guide us through. Our blue/purple colored cake was a huge hit. The best part was seeing everyone's dyed tounges at the end of the night! Thank you for providing a delicious dessert and doing it the way we wanted!

Best Wedding Cake Ever!! We got married at Clarks Landing, who uses Bovella's. Let me tell you it was such a wonderful experience. We had so many choices, we had a hard time selecting. We chose the chocolate fudge and canolli fillings with alternating white and chocolate cake with whipped cream. The design of our cake was an octagon with beautiful black scroll work and our monogram. But, the best part is how it tasted! Everyone loved the cake, it wasn't a regular wedding cake, where no one wanted to eat it! Everyone finished and some wanted seconds!

BEST BAKERY. We had our wedding at Bretton Woods and they had a contract with Bovella's to make the cake. My husband (then fiance) and I went to Bovellas the week before our wedding & met with Ralph to discuss our cake. He gave us a delicious sampler of cake flavors, icing, and filling. He showed us a book of designs we could choose from...but we were having a themed Halloween wedding so we had a very specific idea of what we wanted...and fondant was involved.

We paid a bit extra to get the cake of our dreams but we could NOT have been happier. We showed Ralph just what we wanted and he made it happen. We chose chocolate cake with chocolate icing. We bought a couple rainbow cookies for the road, and they were the best rainbow cookies we have ever had. I would drive down there just for them.

The day of the wedding I gasped when I saw the cake. Not only did the cake itself come out like a piece of artwork, but it tasted phenomenal. Our guests took many photographs.

I highly recommend this place.

The cake was really good!!! We had to upgrade off of the cake that was included with our reception venue but it was definitely worth it! Also, they did a good job with the grooms cake!

bovellas took my vision and pictures i had and created my fabulous, simple, classy looking cake. but, beyond that, the taste and texture of my cake (red velvet with cream cheese and white cake with cannoli cream) was amazing and perfect for everyone's taste buds. it was so good, the whole cake was gone and i had nothing left over to save for my one year anniversary. i definitely will be ordering the same cake from them for my one year.

Clark's Landing recommended Bovella's and we couldnt be happier! Our cake was gorgeous! We mixed and matched ideas and the worked with us to create exactly what we wanted. And, it not only looked good, it tasted incredible. I can't wait to try it again on our 1 year anniversary!

Our cake was AMAZING!!
i went in an spoket to Ralph and already knew the cake i wanted. I saw it in the window of a famous bakery here in Jersey and knew i had to have it. Bovellas did an awesome job recreating it AND it tasted delicious. It wasnt your typical dry hard wedding cake. Each layer, 5 in total was moist and yummy. Thanks guys!

We got our wedding cake from Bovella's because it was included in our wedding at Clark's Landing. Everyone was very nice at the tasting and all the cake was so good, it was hard to decide. We finally decided on red velvet with cream cheese filling and fondant icing. It was delicious even though we only had 1 bite each at the wedding - so many of our guests told us how awesome it was. It also looked beautiful. It had draped fondant that was done impeccably! Couldn't have asked for more and we cannot wait to have the top tier on our anniversary!

Although we didn't work directly with Bovella's to get our wedding cake, we were more than satisfied. Our reception venue worked with us to select the type and look of the cake. Regardless, the cake was beautiful and delicious! (White cake with canoli filling - I highly recommend)

Bovella's created an absolutely delicious and beautiful cake for our wedding. They delivered it two hours away to our wedding location and it was very fresh and delicious. They also provided fantastic pastries that we served along with the cake and everyone was raving about how delicious it all was. A wonderful Italian bakery!

Our cake was delicious. It was the freshest wedding cake I ever have had. We were able to show them a picture of the cake we wanted and they duplicated it perfectly.

They are the bakery for our wedding venue Flanders Valley so our cake cost nothing extra. We drove down to the shop for a cake tasting. They were very patient with us as we got lost getting there. When we got there they met with us right away. The cake and icings were fenominal and the service they gave us was great. He even gave us a big cup full of buttercream icing to take home because it's my all time favorite. They were very nice and fun to talk with.

We used Bovella's Pastry Shoppe for our wedding cake, which was included in our contract with Clarks Landing (Point Pleasant). It was such a coincidence that Bovella's is the Clarks vendor, because my first date with my now-husband was in Westfield and we had dessert at Bovella's.

We went for the cake tasting, and I wasn't very impressed with that. They just left us by ourselves and gave us a very tiny plate of samples. Friends of ours had so much cake to taste and take home at their cake tastings. So that was a bit disappointing and also a little jarring to find ourselves kind of stuck in the corner. Also, we were supposed to meet with Ralph (when I made the appointment), but instead, some other guy came out to talk to us. It turned out that guy was the main cake decorator, so it ended up working out.

I had meticulously stalked the cakes Bovella's had been creating for Clarks and knew their strengths and weaknesses by the time we had the tasting. I chose white designs on a white cake, because I noticed that sometimes, their color designs on white cakes make it seem like the designer doesn't have a steady hand. We asked if they could do red velvet, which wasn't a part of the tasting but is our favorite cake. They said it would be no problem.

We provided the ribbon for our cake because the designer thought it would be the best way to match the color we wanted. This required an extra trip up North to drop it off, but I think we also could've mailed it.

All in all, it turned out to be a beautiful and delicious cake. I wish we had more time to taste it, but we were so busy dancing that our only sample was during the cake cutting ceremony. Can't wait til our first year anniversary -- hope it still tastes as good after being in the freezer for so long. :)

Our wedding cake was beautiful and tasted fantastic! Bovella's offers a wide variety of icings and cake flavors that will please any palate. They also are very open to different ideas and designs so make sure to bring pictures! I highly recommend their services.
