Could not have been happier!

We LOVED our flowers. Josef totally understood what I wanted and we only communicated via phone and email, yeah know because it's 2020. We got a medium sized bride bouquet, groom boutonniere, 3 boutonnieres, 2 corsages and a few flowers for the cake. I thought the prices were reasonable and the quality was incredible.

Unique, wildish style

I had a very particular style in mind for my wedding florals and there were surprisingly few portfolios online that seemed to offer it. I queried a few of them and Josef had the most immediate, thorough, and friendly response. He seemed to get what I was after without much ado, which was a subtle fall palate and natural, foraged look including fall leaves, fuzzy grasses, and wildflowers. He delivered everything we were looking for and was very accommodating while we waited for logistics to fall into place, like what kind of table arrangements we would use at the reception, depending on how many people showed up. Though it had taken some digging to find him online, I found out after hiring him that he had plenty of street cred among the other wedding professionals I was talking to, with a couple of them saying, "Oh, Josef! He's the best." So I was glad I had looked beyond the few big names that kept popping up but that didn't seem to represent my style.

Phenomenal florist

Josef was very easy to work with and got my vision right away. We talked through a few different ideas and landed on something we were really happy with. Despite some traffic issues, Josef got us our flowers on time and set up our installation SO FAST. He decorated an arch for us and it was absolutely beautiful. I was obsessed with my bouquet, I wish I could have carried it around all weekend. Our flowers felt really personal and were a perfect fit for our venue and our aesthetic. I would strongly recommend Botanica Floral and would love to work with them again.

Such pretty flowers

My husband and I were so impressed with Josef's work for our wedding. I don't know very much about flowers, and he was really easy to work with right from the beginning. Josef was sensitive to our budget and always responded quickly to questions or changes, even when we had some last-minute additions to make. Everything turned out perfectly. I would recommend Josef to anyone!

Flowers from Heaven!

The wedding flowers were absolutely STUNNING! We loved all the little plants he added in with what we suggested, like sage and rosemary. It all looked so elegant and smelled amazing. From little boutonnieres, to bouquets, to garlands, he did it all fantastically! And we were spared a lot of stress not having to set it all up ourselves. Worth every penny! Thank you, Botanical!

Wonderful flowers!

Josef and his team are amazing. Planning the wedding out of state was a little difficult but they gave us great suggestions from the very beginning. We had a complete change of wedding colors and a couple of last minute changes to the list of floral items and they were able to quickly help us out. The flowers were crisp and stunning. Highly recommend!

Stunning Flowers

Our friend Surprised us with flowers for our wedding and they were EVERYTHING I ever wanted!! I could not get over how Botanica Floral knew what I wanted when I did not even know what I wanted. I could not believe how perfect they are.

The best florist in PDX!

If I could plan my wedding all over again, I would choose Botanica every single time. Josef and his team were so responsive, flexible and easy to work with. They were so helpful in planning out exactly what I wanted and more, while keeping it in my budget. When the big day came, they far exceeded my expectations and I could not have been happier. People are still to this day talking about my bridal bouquet! I am now a Botanica customer for life for all my floral needs!

Gorgeous flowers and GREAT to work with

Botanica did all of the flowers for our wedding in October, and we couldn't have been happier. From the planning stage to day-of the wedding, they never missed a beat. Just a few of the positive things that stood out...We planned our Oregon wedding remotely from Chicago, and the team was always willing to Skype or take phone calls. They coordinated directly with our wedding cake bakery to make sure flowers for the cake were delivered and arranged correctly. We came to them with a color scheme and they produced a highly-detailed proposal with annotated pictures. If you go with Botanica, you can be 100% confident your wedding flowers will be beautiful and the logistics worry-free.

Josef, you are a remarkable talent. Your work on our wedding with our picky (and difficult) color scheme of navy blue, avocado, silver, and dusty lavender, was beyond compare. Every arrangement was spot-on...and your use of succulents and creative touches such as dusty miller and so many others really made all of our flowers just perfect. What a graceful and magical scene you helped us create! Thanks also for weaving my necklace (a gift from my groom!) into my bouquet, it was just perfect! I highly recommend you to any and all.

Wow, Josef blew me away with how talented he is. The flowers were UNREAL gorgeous and they were exactly what I had always imagined. Now keep in mind that I know nothing about flowers... my now husband and I went into the first meeting knowing a general color scheme and feel that we liked, but didn't know how to explain it. Josef was able to guide us through the entire process and executed it flawlessly. He was so responsive and easy to work with which was really only a bonus. I highly, highly recommend!

Full disclosure - I met Josef from Botanica about 9 years ago and have been friends with him ever since. When I got engaged, there was only ever one choice for our flowers. I've seen him do some amazing work in these past 9 years so I knew I'd get something great. And I did. Josef understood my vision for a romantic, lush feeling for my wedding and for something more simple for our rehearsal dinner that wouldn't compete with the beautiful surroundings. He nailed both events and it was even better than I could have hoped. I got lots of compliments on the flowers and how beautiful everything looked. He is easy to work with, timely, and everything was so pretty I'm sad to see the flowers dying now in our house.

Josef did a stellar job on the flowers for our wedding! It was just what we wanted and then some! We struggled at first to find a florist that didn't have an outrageous spending minimum, so it was refreshing to find someone that would work with any budget. He went above and beyond by offering to drape the fabric on the arbor while he put the flower spray on it. He even kept up timely email correspondence while he was traveling abroad. We would 100% recommend Botanica Floral!

Unrelated side note- he has the sweetest little office doggy!

Josef came highly recommended to us by our wedding coordinator. We met with him really early through our planning process, when we barely had a handle on what we wanted to do for the wedding, let alone how we wanted our flowers. Despite this fact, we immediately knew Josef was the florist we wanted. And it became more apparent when we consulted with other florists and Josef was the florist we compared them against. He shepherded us through the planning process patiently, and made us feel like he knew exactly what we were going for, even when we couldn’t express it well. His ideas were fun and creative and opened up a lot of ideas for us early in the process. Josef was so easy to work with and flexible when it came time to make changes closer to the wedding date. The week of the wedding, I decided that I wanted to add bouquet charms to my bouquet, and that we needed to pick up the flowers early. He was so accommodating! He attached my charms to my bouquet before we picked them up and was available at 8:00 when my husband came to pick up our bouquets and boutonnieres. The flowers he used were high quality and BEAUTIFUL. They were exactly what we wanted. We can’t sing his praises enough!

Joseph was wonderful to work with! He was recommended as top notch by my wedding consultant Jenn at Awe Productions and he delivered in spades.

I met with Joseph twice before the wedding - once at a show to see his display and second to go through actual flowers and look through the pinterest board of ideas I had. He and I worked out a general concept for my bouquet and my MOH bouquet and I let him take it from there. We had a kind of complex request also in that we wanted an arch for the ceremony that "wasn't too flowery, but not too much branch, but not too urban" - I wasn't too terribly worried, but it was one of those let it go moments.

Day of, I snuck out of photos at a quiet moment to see the ceremony space and almost burst into tears at the sight of the beautiful arch - he had nailed what I was trying to describe in such a beautiful way and it looked so gorgeous behind us in photos.

Joseph was also very good at making sure to guide me to flowers that fit my budget and keeping into what was in season or he could get fresh. He had a good selection if you wanted outside of that, but I appreciated his awareness of budget constraints balanced with look/feel desires.

Would definitely recommend Botanica to other couples looking for flower magicians!

Josef and his team did an amazing job with our wedding flowers. The arrangements were magical! The colors, the quality, the unique design mesmerized our guests and were the target of many, many photos!! Because our dinner was served farm style we didn't want many flowers on the table, SO...Josef created hanging flower chandeliers!! Complete with glass bulbs, candles, and an array of stunning flowers. I highly recommend Botanica Floral Design! 10+

Josef did a phenomenal job on our wedding flowers. He was highly recommended by our wedding planner. The three of us met and when I told him how I envisioned my wedding, he immediately knew what to do with flowers. His flowers are decently priced, and Josef made it a priority to stay within my floral budget. On our wedding day, all the flowers were absolutely amazing and fresh. I was so happy at how they turned out, and how well it fit with the vision I had for my wedding flowers. The bonus to Josef’s flowers was that they were all locally grown, which was important for us. I would highly recommend Josef for any occasion.

Botanica was amazing. The owner made sure that in my wedding day he arranged all of my flowers on site including in my cake. He has an amazing eye for detail, and with such a wide variety of interesting and classic flowers, along with pods and everything else that I didn't even know existed, they will ensure you have flowers unlike any other. He worked so well trying to find exactly the feeling we were going for and not just what flowers we liked.

Amazing overall. I will definitely use Botanica anytime I need floral arrangements from here out.

We loved working with Josef on our wedding flowers! In our first meeting with him, he asked great questions, quickly understood our vision and style, and made all the right recommendations for flowers. We did not want traditional bouquets and he was very patient and creative as we figured out some alternatives - in the end he made some lovely corsages instead of bouquets. The boutonniere were especially beautiful! And we loved all of the flowers along the aisle, decorating the chuppah, and in our centerpieces. We would highly recommend working with him!

Josef created the flower arrangements and bouquets for my wedding. He was a pleasure to work with! Before the wedding, he sat down with me for well over an hour to make sure that he understood the vision I had. He respected and incorporated my input into our final design, while offering professional advice about seasonal flowers and filler that pulled the arrangements together. He was able to pull off a garden, ethereal look that received many compliments at the wedding. Out of all the vendors I hired, Josef was one of the easiest and most talented to work with.

Josef is an incredible florist. Not only was he incredibly personable and easy to work with, but he magically transformed my vague descriptions into the most gorgeous and perfect bouquets and arrangements. He was professional and on time, he clearly put a lot of time and thought into all of the details, and I got compliments all day on how beautiful everything was.

The price, the quality of flowers, the setup, the selection, the overall experience with Josef removed any stress we may have expected on our wedding day. After meeting with us to get a feel for what we wanted and what we wanted to spend, Josef presented the perfect display throughout our wedding. Josef himself was working up to the last minute to ensure no detail was missed. We would and have referred friends to Botanica Floral Designs as there is no one that can compare.

Josef @ Botanica Floral Design was amazing. He was extremely flexible and an amazing listener. Sometimes design plans change mid-stream and Josef just went with the flow. Our flowers were amazing and everyone commented on how lovely the wedding platform was. He has a great sense of what will look good and is very helpful in providing insight and direction if needed. If you want beautiful flowers and not have to worry about anything - I'd highly recommend Josef.

Our wedding was Lord of the Rings themed and we were on a budget. Josef had so many amazing ideas and was so careful to make sure everything was what we had envisioned for our big day. Botanica Floral Design is proof you can have it all - beautiful flowers that are unique and still affordable. Thank you again Josef, my wedding wouldn't have been the same without you!

Josef did an absolutely amazing job preparing the flowers for our wedding. When we had first contacted him we told him all of the ideas that we had and he put together a quote for us which was significantly higher than what we had expected to spend. Thankfully, he was so nice to work with us and take out parts of the flowers he felt we could still have by combining the ceremony flowers into the centerpieces for our reception. His ability to work with us and accomodate a price that more closely related to our budget was absolutely amazing rather than just dropping us and telling us he could find someone else wanting to have their flowers done on that day. In addition to how flexible he was with us the flowers turned out amazing and we had guests commenting on how nice they were all night long. He was by far the best florist we feel there is in the area and we suggest anyone looking for someone that actually cares about your wedding day and wants to work with you to make it amazing to go with him.

Josef was awesome to work with for our wedding this past July at Edgefield. He did an amazing job with all of our flowers. He brought us fresh bulk flowers that we then used to decorate the reception site and the bouquets he did were amazing. We had a rustic NW craft brewery theme and he incorporated fresh hops into the bouquets and boutonnieres.

My experience working with Josef was top notch. Not only was he a visionary but he was extremely patient and flexible. I changed my wedding colors half way through the planning process and he was very accommodating with all the changes I wanted to make. He was a bit pricey but he got the job done and everything was absolutely beautiful.

I cannot rave enough about the beautiful bouquets, corsages/boutonnieres, and floral arrangements that Botanic Flora Design provided for my wedding. Honestly, my bridal bouquet and the bouquets for my bridesmaids were my favorite part of the wedding. Absolutely perfect. I gave Josef some general ideas of the style of my wedding and what I liked/didn't like, but he truly put the whole thing together. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful flowers. We used a lot of succulents and light blues, greens, and pinks in our wedding decor and he complimented that theme perfectly. I was unsure of what sort of decor to use at the altar for the ceremony as well as down along the aisle. Josef suggested a birch backdrop that we rented through Botanica Flora Design as well as simple fern arrangements that were staggered along the aisle. I was continuously impressed with his vision, creativity, and practicality throughout the planning process.

I can't say enough good things about Botanica Floral Design. From the moment I contacted them about designing the floral for our wedding, I knew I was in good hands.

It means so much to trust your wedding vendors, and Josef earned that trust immediately with me; his quotes were detailed, professional, and prompt. He was so flexible and worked with us to really understand what we were looking for.

Josef came highly recommended by all my vendors and I can see why! I love his creative eye and that he uses local aspects. Josef was so friendly, responsive, and flexible! I simply gave him a color and the overall "feel" of our wedding and he created the most beautiful bouquets I have ever seen!! My bridal bouquet was so much more amazing than I could have ever imagined!! He really understands weddings and how flowers add to it all to tie in the "feel" of it all. He felt like a close friend! We worked with Josef for our wedding - we wanted a rustic look - the flowers Josef provided were extraordinary! We heard so many compliments on the arrangements for the centerpieces - the head table was awesome and exactly as we had discussed. There wasn't one element that wasn't completely perfect. Plus, Josef if wonderful to work with - very laid-back and very interested in getting you the flowers you want. I could not be happier with the flowers Josef at Botanica provided for my wedding. He really listened to my tastes and created floral designs that exceeded any expectations I had in mind for my big day. I am not your typical bride- no roses, only local flowers and organic whenever possible, and lots of herbs. He made all of my ideas come to life in ways I could never have imagined on my own. Josef of Botanica Floral Design really made our wedding come to life. We weren't too particular on species of flowers or being really defined on what we wanted the arrangements etc. to look like. In our two meetings and emails we really discussed our color scheme and overall feeling we wanted to achieve. We left everything else up to the professional, Josef. The boutonnieres and bridal bouquets were just beautiful! He made them really unique making sure mine and Kenny's didn't look like everyone else's. Our ceremony area was flipped for the reception, and Josef was more than willing to stay to move the aisle and altar arrangements to the dinner tables and head table. It was nice that he was on board with two-for arrangements. Any personal element we wanted to provide ourselves, he was very accommodating and incorporated them into his design. Josef is very responsive and fun to work with. He is very talented and creative. He suggested we have potted ferns as a part of every centerpiece to go along with our northwest theme which was a nice touch and people got to take them home. We have since visited a couple of those people and it is really special to see they have planted a fern from our wedding. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to go with Josef as our florist as he really brought our venue and vision to life. He even helped us find our cake baker, Deb at White Rose Bakery!

Environmentally friendly, organic and local were the top factors my fiance and I were looking for as we searched for a florist for our wedding. Josef at Botanica exceeded all our expectations! I brought in a photo of a bouquet I found online that I liked and he created one that was 10X as beautiful as my "dream" bouquet. He created the perfect flowers for our perfect day. From flowers to top our cake, to a gardenia for my hair to a small arrangement for the table under our chuppah...everything was perfectly matched to our location (Oregon coast, beach wedding). The flowers were incredible...I wish I could have kept them forever...and actually I had a few of the arrangement in my house for about a week and a half after (with changing water and taking out those that wilted they looked great up til the end). He was very flexible, was able to work with us to make delivery seamless. Highly recommended...I want all my flowers to come from him for now on!!

I started out with only a vague idea about what I wanted in wedding flowers, mainly I wanted organic, sustainable, locally grown flowers. Josef asked all the right questions and created the most beautiful and personal flowers I could imagine. He even made extra boutonnieres for the men because with the hot day and all the hugs he knew the first wouldn't last for the whole event. The bouquets lasted through the ceremony, reception, and we were able to enjoy them for many days after as well!

We interviewed four florists and they were all just fantastic. When we got their bids, they were only within $200 of each other. Josef from Botanica Floral really listened to my daughter and her fiance. Josef had great ideas and really could help the prospective couple envision what the flowers would look like. As the mother-of-the-bride, I met with Josef several times to discuss the details. Josef was so easy to work with. He was very flexible when we changed the order at the last minute. On the day of the wedding, he glued ribbons onto vases and made sure all the flowers were beautiful. We would highly recommend him to any future bride and groom.

Josef is the most amazing floral artist I have ever encountered. After viewing his work on his website, my (then) fiancé and I did not need to look further. His work is beautiful and unique, and he was extremely helpful when we needed to make a few changes to our order. I received compliments on my bouquet on our wedding day and still continue to receive them! Many women said that my bouquet was the most amazing bouquet of any they had ever seen. With deep red flowers, fern curls and raspberrys, I don't know how it could have been more unique! The boutonnieres were exactly what we wanted too; succulents with fern curls and fiber optic grass! Simple and gorgeous. They received compliments as well. As our wedding was a simple one, we did not enlist Josef's services for table arrangements but I can only imagine how beautiful they would have been. He truly has a unique touch that is beyond the aesthetics of anything I have seen before.

Botanica Floral Design was SO amazing to work with. Josef was extremely professional and responsive. I originally found him while I was looking for an eco-friendly floral designer because I wanted to work with like-minded people. I was planning my wedding from Boston and he was extremely flexible with me in our communications. When I first met him at his shop I was put at ease with his friendly personality and every time I asked if we could do something, the answer was always "yes, of course". Exactly what a destination bride wants to hear! I received so many compliments on my succulent bouquet that I didn't want to let it go all day! Everyone was asking me where I got it and how I came up with the idea. I didn't even have to say anything to Josef about what I wanted, I said "succulents" and he created masterpieces for me, our parents and wedding party.

I took apart my bouquet a few days after our wedding and repotted each plant and almost 2 months later they are growing huge! I would highly recommend Botanica Floral Design to any bride who wants something unique and beautiful. Thank you so much, Josef!

I found Botanica through a charity auction (they donated to the silent auction). I was nervous at first not knowing a lot about them, but after meeting with Josef for our consultation he was so accommodating to what I was looking for, had great ideas and is really able to work with any budget. Not only was the process simple, my flowers were amazing! I recieved compliments all night and from people who saw my pictures. He is just so talented and takes flower arrangements to a whole new level. I can't say enough good things about my experience.

Josef help made our wedding day the best many of our guest have ever been too! We had an outdoor wedding....with a berry theme, my favorite flower the daisy (great mix...check out his pics), and keeping it local and environmental friendly. Botanica fit the bill for all our needs even the cost, with wedding planning you want to hit all the important points...and smoothly too... and for the flowers/bouquets.....it was my simplest part. Botanica caught my eye at a wedding show because of his 'rustic' display of birch bark vase covers.....as well as 'tree seedling' gift favours. I inquired about services and Josef was willing to give all sorts of advice and price ranges to help me in checking the 'wedding flowers' OFF the list! (I didn't feel bad for being picky at undecisive either!) He was very helpful in giving ideas and seasonal options.

I was so very pleased the day of my wedding when my bouquets, etc. had arrived. They made me smile by exceeded my expectation and really made my wedding beautiful. I highly suggest his services for any occasion. He won't let you down :)

If you want people to talk about how stunning your flowers were and are on the day of your wedding, I would highly recommend Botanica Floral. Josef and his adore dog did an amazing job with our wedding. Always on time and available to speak with you; you always feel you are center of attention.

My husband and I received so many compliments about our floral choices. As well, our friends relayed to us how the centerpieces were still fresh, two weeks after we returned from our honeymoon. Incredible!

I have recommended Josef to everyone I know.

Josef is wonderful! My daughter lives in New York but got married in Portland, Oregon. We only had one meeting with him when my daughter came out in March. Josef was able to take my daughter's vague idea of what she wanted and create beautiful bouquets and centerpieces. The only flowers she knew she wanted were Billy Balls and sunflowers in her bouquet. He used those flowers and many more so that the sunflowers did not overwhelm the arrangement. He even gave her some extra Billy Balls to put in her hair.
The father of the groom also used Josef for the rehearsal dinner. He also gave just an idea of what he wanted. Josef made gorgeous round bowl arrangements with a variety of flowers. They were very pretty and we saved them and used them for the brunch the day after the wedding.
I love that he uses local flowers and sustainable practices. I will definitely use Josef again should I need a florist in Portland.

GREAT value - even for a 12-attendant ceremony and flowers for each of 25 reception tables, I loved working with Josef by phone, really enjoyed the flowers he put together, and loved even more that they were pesticide-free and locally grown. All of my guests took photos of the floral arrangements on the reception tables (which were still fairly large, and AWESOME). Loved that I could rent the vases instead of wastefully buying more stuff I'd have to pickup and get rid of later.

A note: I suspect that one of the reasons this was so affordable was because I specifically didn't want too many big flowers - I strongly prefer these more modern arrangements with seed pods, thistles, cool foliage and unique buds. I also laid down my price expectations outright. Josef was VERY accomodating, though there were some red roses in my bouquet (which I don't typically care for) they were mixed in a gorgeous combination of neat other stuff that even picked up the blues in my bridesmaids dresses - a difficult color to come by in mid-Fall.

Josef can do anything from vintage to ultra modern. His creativity and execution are amazing. He is also very thoughtful about the seasons of the year and builds arrangements around what is available.

I had a fantastic experience with Josef and Botanica! I showed him my Pinterest page and he replicated everything SPOT ON! He was easy to work with and responded to emails in a timely manner (most of his emails were sent at about 10pm, so you know he's a hard worker!). I just can not express how pleased I was with the floral at my wedding. My only complaint? His dog sure barks a lot. ;)
