We had the absolute pleasure of having Yogi as our DJ for both our wedding and sangeet events, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! From the very beginning, the energy was electric. Yogi masterfully drew participation from every guest, young and old, turning our celebrations into unforgettable dance parties.
The music selection and transitions were flawless—every song was timed perfectly to the mood and flow of the evening. Whether it was soulful tunes during the sangeet or high-energy beats at the wedding reception, the mixes were spot-on. Guests were constantly on their feet, and many still talk about how much fun they had on the dance floor!
In addition to the incredible music, the sound and lighting equipment was top-notch. The setup was professional, sleek, and added a polished edge to the entire ambiance.
Yogi was not only talented but also extremely professional, punctual, and easy to work with throughout. We truly felt taken care of.

For the entire Wedding and Sangeet events in our family, we had strong instinct to go with Yogi and of course that was the best decision.
BSL (Yogi and company) are easy to work with. At the same time, they hold themselves to high professional standards in terms communication and flexibility. They were on top of the game applying their experience and wisdom throughout our family event (Sangeet evening and entire Wedding day) exactly when needed. -

Writing this review after my wedding, I feel so incredibly validated picking BSL and Yogi. I think I knew after my first date with my now-wife that she was the one; I'd say much the same about BSL and Yogi after our first call! As Yogi put it: "you're family now bro."
It feels like 5 stars is the default rating these days. Review inflation is tough! So, let me highlight what specifically made BSL and Yogi so perfect for us:
1. Yogi listened (actively). God, what a relief. We spoke to multiple DJs before ultimately picking BSL. Other DJs we spoke with were trying to fit us into their script, making assumptions rather than asking questions and listening to what we wanted. We'll play XYZ music for the entrance of the groomsmen and bridesmaids (we had none), the priest will marry you (our ceremony was decidedly and purposefully non-religious), we'll announce you as Mr. and Mrs. Graham (while I have but a lowly bachelor's degree, my wife has a PhD; she's Dr.! Not that she particularly cares, but I do as her admiring husband. Also, she didn't take my last name.), etc. Yogi, on the other hand, led with questions: (1) where is the venue?; (2) what are your plans for the ceremony / how do you want the ceremony to go?; (3) who are the wedding VIPs (family, friends, etc.)?; (4) what type of music do you like?; etc. He offered a bespoke service; the competition felt off-the-shelf. It was great to be heard and seen given the non-traditional nature of our wedding.
2. Yogi's pricing was simple, transparent, upfront, and fixed. No drip pricing, no upselling, nothing. One price and you get the works.
3. Yogi went above-and-beyond. My wife and I would have been happy with a pretty minimal DJ package. In fact, that's what we thought we were getting! Yogi had other ideas. He saved us day-of by providing a camera tripod at no charge for a last minute impromptu videography request from guests who couldn't make the wedding, brought extra lighting (true to BSL's name) to jazz up the reception and dance floor area (also at no charge), and, not only offered DJ services through his partner Dee (Dipesh), but also MC'ed! Which he did with aplomb, btw, making throwback references to personal details we had mentioned on calls with him (e.g., my upbringing in the 'burbs) and improvising on the mic to keep people super engaged through the dinner and dancing. We had a blast and so did our guests. Compliments abounded.
4. Yogi was detail-oriented. We had a few last minute, albeit minor, changes to the ceremony flow. E.g., changing the entrance song for our officiants. Yogi gave us no trouble with these last minute changes and, day of, confirmed the details to make sure he was working with the most up-to-date information. He and DJ Dee nailed every part of our ceremony.
5. DJ Dee's DJing fantastically blended Bollywood and bhangra music (my wife is Indian) with crowd-pleasing Top 40 pop for my very white side of the family (Bruno Mars, etc.). And Bad Bunny for, well, everyone. People danced until the end. Literally until the venue was closing and told us we had to make our exit. Two people were dancing so much and so hard that they ripped their pants (not me, fortunately!). How many weddings can say that?!
6. Yogi made everything easy. I like to say that we put in 2 out of 10 effort, not really being wedding people, yet got a 10/10 wedding.

We used Boston Sound and Light for our wedding, and they truly delivered an unforgettable experience! From the first consultation with Yogi to the last beat on the dance floor, their professionalism, creativity, and expertise shone through.
Yogi and Dee were absolutely phenomenal, blending traditional Indian melodies with modern hits seamlessly. Whether it was Bollywood classics, bhangra, or Top 40 tracks, the transitions were smooth, and the energy on the dance floor never dipped. They knew exactly how to read the crowd and kept every guest engaged, from the younger generation to the older relatives who love timeless melodies.They were incredibly accommodating, even with last-minute requests, and their passion for their craft was evident in every aspect of their work.
BSL worked seamlessly with our decor and venue vendors and transformed the venue into a dazzling spectacle with mood lighting, spotlights, and synchronized effects. From our entrances as bride and groom at the wedding ceremony to our first dance, the key moments of the evening were accentuated beautifully with their creative lighting designs.
If you're planning an Indian wedding in Boston area and are looking to take your celebration to the next level, BSL is the one to call. Highly, highly recommend!

From when we started initial planning calls to day of, Boston Sound and Light Company was top notch. The two of us are more traditional and low key and DJ Yogz from the get go was very flexible and was focused on making sure not only that the two of us had fun at our own reception but also that overall flow of the event reflected us. He co-ideated with us and was ready to answer any all questions almost immediately. We had about 2 hours of just dance floor and music mix was soo lit. Even our photography team who has done thousands of weddings all over the world commented on how and I quote "lit" the reception was. That is a reflection of DJ Yogz and Boston Sound and Light Company in terms of their quality, flexibility and making the experience unique to the couple. They even played the groom's favorite song towards the end on request for the groom. Definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to make their wedding day unique and unforgettable. -

Darsheeka and I couldn't be happier with the incredible DJ service at our wedding in Cancun, MX! The energy Dee and Yogi brought to the dance floor was absolutely electric. Their ability to read the crowd and play the songs that had everyone singing along was outstanding. BSL helped us host such an EPIC wedding, from the start of our Baraat to the end of the Reception. Yogi's energy at the Baraat (and the mobile pick-up truck DJ set-up) got the crowd fired up right from the start and really set the tone for a special experience. Our wedding day was such a surreal time and it's incredible how smoothly everything went. So many guests told us how thoughtfully planned every detail was and how much fun they had dancing the night away. We're so grateful for all the ways Yogi worked with us to make our fusion wedding a reality, how he accommodated our special requests, and how he balanced our differing music tastes. -

We LOVED working with DJ Yogi and his team from Boston Sound and Light! We used them for our Sangeet and Baraat in May, and they absolutely started the weekend off on the right foot! Yogi was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process, helped us figure out how to blend two cultures in the baraat, was willing to work with our bagpipe player (!!) for the baraat, and totally understood our vision. And the day of he was AMAZING! Our friends and family had such a blast coming in with the baraat, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. He did a great job balancing Indian & Western music and really responded to what was happening on the dance floor. We can't recommend BSL strongly enough! -

Where to even begin. Almost two years ago we started wedding planning, we were not having any luck with finding a DJ who was local to the area of Lake Tahoe. After several weeks of research and asking for recommendations, we stumbled upon DJ Yogi and the Boston Sound & Light team via the Little Brown Diary group on Facebook. We knew it was a bit of a stretch to hire someone all the way from Boston, but decided to speak with Yogi anyways. From our first conversation he got us excited about our big day. He was able to work with our budget, taking into account that we had to pay for travel and even made us a sample mix based on a set of 10 songs we selected. Listening to the mix is what locked us in and that's when we knew his team doesn't just play songs, but they are live DJing. We were on the fence about paying extra for a dhol player for the garba and baraat, but Yogi insisted that we have his dholi, Ravi, attend the events to the point where he said he would include Ravi for free as long as we provide airfare. We didn't think much of it at the time, but wow are we glad we didn't push back on this. Our wedding involved a lot of logistical work; traveling to a fairly remote area, working with another third party vendor for AV equipment, figuring out how to coordinate with a live band, and dealing with many last minute changes. Yogi handled everything with ease and constantly helped to keep us stress free. Also huge shoutout to Dipesh for helping our families create all of the dance mixes for garba night. Months of back and forth with many changes and not once did he complain or push back. Our first event was garba and it went effortlessly with Yogi MCing, Dipesh playing the music, and the star of the night Ravi, who amazed everyone with his dhol skills. Although we very much wanted a live garba band, by having Ravi there we didn't miss having one at all. At the baraat, Yogi and Dipesh killed it by live DJing from the back of a pickup truck and Ravi pumped up the crowd with his dhol on the ground. For the ceremony, Yogi promised that he would keep it classy with the music and he kept to his word. For the reception, the night started with the live band playing, but Ravi once again shocked us (and the band!) by playing his dhol while the band was singing. This was such a wow moment for everyone -- he has incredible talent. Dipesh ended the evening playing all the best hits and left the crowd wanting more. We continued onwards to the afterparty, where the energy did not die down. Scheduled to end at 2am, the BSL team ended up playing until 330am AND they would have kept going if the AV guy didn't start unplugging the speakers. We have zero doubt that this team would kill any event and give them the highest of ratings. Yogi, Dipesh, and Ravi -- thank you so much for helping us and our guests create the most memorable weekend. You will always be family for us and we really hope to have the opportunity to work you again in the future! For anyone reading this, you should have zero hesitations about hiring this team! -

A very generous surprise for a covid19 couple
Like many other 2020 couples, our wedding was also affected by Covid-19 and got cancelled but we still wanted to do small in house backyard virtual wedding with family and friends on video call. I contacted Yogi initially for our wedding but before we could finalize anything, we had to cancel our wedding. When Yogi got to know from a photographer friend that we are doing our small backyard wedding with no family around, BSL was super generous and kind to plan an awesome surprise for us to show up full on with Band, Baraat, Music and Dhol to make our wedding day complete with Indian tradition so that we dont miss on anything.
They were so kind to give that whole great proper fun Baraat experience as a very generous gift to us -

My fiancé, Ted, and I hired Yogi and his team at BSL to spin at our recent Ethiopian/Indian wedding and reception. We knew we were in great hands after seeing and hearing what BSL was capable of at my brother’s wedding in June 2018. Yogi and DJ Krups catered to our musical preferences which included mostly Reggaeton and Ethiopian music. Ted and I are so pleased with the attention to detail we received throughout the entire planning process with BSL. Yogi consistently communicated with me throughout the planning and kept me informed of all updates. He put me in touch with DJ Krups who helped me formulate my timeline in the most efficient and fun way for our wedding party. Ravi Rana played the dhol for us throughout the wedding festivities. He never missed a beat and kept everyone dancing during the Baraat and reception. Many of our guests approached us after the wedding to tell us it was the most fun they had at a wedding as there was nonstop dancing. Overall, my experience with BSL was nothing short of excellent. We were made to feel like family and gained brothers in Yogi, Krupal and Ravi. Ted and I are already considering having a big party after we renew our vows in a couple of years and it’s comforting to know we have BSL as our go-to vendor. -

Indian fusion and best dance party EVER!
What an amazing beautiful day it was. Perfectly executed ceremony on the beach, with no sound mishaps. The decor, the flowers, the mix of traditional and modern outfits, and the quality of the sound. Even my grandmother and aunties could hear! Provided a very unique reception with a dohl player and uplighting matching the mood, and beat. The combination of different genres old and new and of course Taylor Swift was a big hit with out crowd. The ability DJ Jay had to read the room was impeccable, and flowed very smoothly. He always got the dance floor dancing again. -

We chose Boston Sound & Light Company for our November 2018 destination wedding at the Hard Rock Punta Cana in the DR. We originally came across the company as they have done previous weddings at the venue we chose, and after speaking with Yogesh (DJ Yogz), I felt extremely comfortable that he would be the right fit for our wedding! We ended up hiring DJ Yogz as our MC and Dipesh as our DJ for our 4 day extravaganza and we cannot recommend them highly enough!
With the nuances of having two weddings (one Hindu (Telugu) & one Buddhist (Sri Lankan)), they walked us through all the steps of organizing each event and the music! All of our events went off without a hitch, and most importantly our almost rained out Sangeet turned into the best dance party in the rain of all time! Thanks to them, the party kept going and everyone had so much fun, that they keep talking about it 6 months later! It truly was the best weekend of our lives, and in a big part it was because of Yogesh and Dipesh that the events ran so smoothly.
As a Type A bride, both of them work really hard and fulfill every request (even the last minute ones, and were able to put everything together even with a few days notice for our sangeet, two weddings and reception). They tailored all of our wedding music to exactly what we wanted (and we had a different song for each of the 10-12 different sections of our Hindu ceremony), and Dipesh did a great job making sure everything was perfect! I cannot rave about how great they were making sure everything was PERFECT! Let’s not forget the surprise bridesmaids & groomsmen dance that Dipesh stitched together for us a couple of weeks before the wedding (which probably would have taken us hours), a complete lifesaver!
They took our song requests for each event and also did a great job making sure everyone was on the dance floor the entire time! All our guests had a great time, and Dipesh got an idea of the music and vibe we loved, and executed flawlessly for all the events! We had an absolute blast and cannot recommend BSL highly enough to any other brides & grooms that are looking for a great DJ/MC/lighting team all in one! They really DO IT ALL, and do it really well! They understand their clients and make sure that they really listen to what you want every step of the way! If you are thinking about BSL, don’t think twice, they really care, and do everything they can to make sure your event/events are a huge success (and the best dance party you’ve ever been to)! Thank you Yogesh, Dipesh & BSL for making our wedding weekend one for the history books! -

I had the pleasure of sharing a phone conversation with Yogi back in December when beginning the DJ search and was immediately sold in the way he treated me like family and assured us that every aspect of our British/Indian fusion wedding would be taken care of. From then, Yogi was quick to respond to emails and questions and DJ Dee was kind enough to mix us different versions of our surprise first dance in just hours. We then had the pleasure of experiencing BSL in action at a friend’s wedding in June and met Yogi for the first time in person, yet we felt like we’d known him forever. He has an incredible way with people and crowds, it’s captivating and sincere and we knew we were in good hands. Fast forward to our wedding last Friday, Yogi and DJ Dee absolutely rocked our dance floor, getting family that can normally never be found on the dance floor, dancing all night long! Even our photographer didn’t want to leave! Yogi and Dee are an amazing combo who know how to read the crowd well and cater to everyone’s taste. Our friends and family have not stopped raving about the music that night and neither can we- if we could re-live the feeling of the dance floor that night, believe me, we would! We were even late to our own after party, sitting and chatting with Yogi and DJ Dee after our reception! We could not say enough good things about Yogi, DJ Dee and BSL. They made the long drive down to Charlottesville, VA for a 4 day Indian/American wedding. We wanted to find the perfect entertainment for our guests and DJ Yogz exceeded our expectations.
DJ Yogz and his amazing team provided entertainment across our entire weekend and 4 different event. They started the weekend with our Bharat and made sure that it was nothing but fun and excitement. DJ Yogz was the MC for our Indian reception (which was flawless) and then got the dance floor going with the perfect mix of Indian and American music. Our guests loved the live Dhol and how DJ Yogz was able to mix effortlessly between genres.
The next day he was able to transform our venue with the perfect uplighting that made the space come alive. He had the dance floor packed throughout our second reception of the weekend. Not one person was in their chair by the end of the night, but it didn't end there. The Boston Sound & Light crew then rocked our after party in downtown Charlottesville. We had the space till 2am, but our close friends liked the music so much they stayed till 4! Dj Yogz and his team went above and beyond. We highly recommend them for any type of event, but more importantly they can provide stellar entertainment, music, lighting and energy for the most complicated of weddings (like ours!). We can't wait for the reunion!

Overall room ambience with their lighting effects, ligted dance floor, great music - they are the best in the entertainment business. They pour their heart out as if it’s their own family event and that’s what makes them special. 100 percent look no further but hire them if you can get into their calendar

We’ve first hand experienced how incredible they did at other events, that we knew we wanted them for ours and nobody else. Planning a big, two-day Indian wedding of 500+ guests is not an easy task, but DJ Yogz and his team made it all worth it. Their professionalism, knowledge and expertise made both our hectic wedding and reception day, so incredibly special. With providing them a busy timeline, limited time and numerous tasks, they handled and rocked each event with ease. The entire team listened to our wishes and concerns and not only did they keep their word, they went above and beyond to fulfill each promise. Our wedding and reception was everything that we dreamed of and more--all thanks to BSL. From the incredible uplighting and music, customized gobo, and LED lightup dancefloor that left all of our guests speechless.
