So happy with makeup!

I am so happy with the job that Chessy with Blushing Brides did for my recent wedding! Chessy is a true artist and did an amazing job. She was so easy and fun to work with - I really enjoyed getting to know her and working with her. We were runny very behind the day of my wedding and she managed to pull off the most gorgeous makeup look for me in half the time allotted so we could get back on scheduled. I was so impressed, and I cannot recommend her enough!

Chessy was wonderful to work with, she went out of her way to accommodate my hectic schedule and the needs of my family members. She was even willing to do a last minute add-on the day of. She made my bridesmaids look like movie stars and even got my mother's notoriously unruly hair to look awesome! Would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to get their hair and makeup done for any occasion!

Chessie was absolutely amazing! After having a horrible experience with another hair and makeup artist, I found Chessie less than a month before my wedding. She was very flexible and understanding, offering to go out of her way to accommodate my needs. Logistics were an issue since I live in Richmond and was getting married in Sandbridge. Chessie was able to do my trial on the day of our rehearsal dinner and was very patient with all the interruptions we had. Everyone was very impressed with my hair and makeup, as was I! Thank you so much, Chessie!! You're the best!! :)

I was a bride having a destination wedding in Va Beach and had a horrible trial with another vendor, my time was limited on being able to travel down and worry about doing trials to make sure I found the right person, so I was in panic mode. Luckily! I found Chessy/Blushing Brides right after, she saved the day. She is a wonderful person inside and out, she took her time through the trial and really wanted to make sure my vision came to light, after the trial she keeps in contact up until the wedding day, her contracts/payments are easily done online through her company website so you can keep track of everything. She was also super flexible when it came to my wedding party and being able to add a few people closer to the wedding date. Chessy and her team were great the day of, super professional, punctual, and fun! Everyone commented on how great our hair and makeup looked, it defiantly showed in all the pictures. I would highly recommend Blushing Brides, you will not be disappointed, it will be one thing you will defiantly not have to worry about on the day of your wedding and you will look and feel gorgeous!

Chessy was AMAZING!! I had my makeup trial with another local artist and was not pleased with the results. It was airbrushed makeup, and I couldn't exactly pinpoint what I disliked, but overall I felt/looked like a clown!! (And I'm not one of those people who is scared to wear a lot of makeup.) My hair was also teased and poofed and looked a bit "jersey shore." I had it half up/half down and curled. My hair doesn't hold a curl very well and they started to fall out within several hours and looked stringy. I informed the artist, and she said that maybe we would have to just do an updo for the wedding. I called Chessy a month before my wedding and she was a life saver!! I had always thought that I wanted airbrushing, because I wanted to look flawless and "perfect," but Chessy took the time to explain to me in detail that airbrushing is not for everyone and that she could achieve the same flawless, "photo ready," and lasting look with traditional makeup. I told her about my hair dilemma as well, and instead of suggesting that I switch my preferred style to an updo, she recommended that I get some long layers put in so that my hair would have more "bounce" (why didn't I think of that?) Her schedule was very flexible and she was able to get me in for a trial right away--she travels to you. She took her time during my trial and tweaked things as I requested until I was completely happy with the results. I was nervous wearing my hair half down for the wedding, but it looked perfect and lasted the entire night! I loved my hair and makeup and felt beautiful! Worth the money. I absolutely recommend Chessy!

Chessy was absolutely amazing!! Not only did everyone in the bridal party look gorgeous, she is so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. I did not know exactly what I wanted and everything ended up so beautiful! Chessy really went above and beyond and I could not have been happier!

Chessy and her team were absolutely amazing! Chessy responded to my first inquiry about getting bridal hair and make up done within hours. From there, Chessy continued to keep me updated on scheduling and provided timely feedback for hair/make up ideas. Anytime I would email her, she would email right back! Chessy came to me for my hair trials and even accommodated my mother, so she could be more relaxed on my wedding day. On my actual wedding day, Chessy was on time with her team and provided each of my girls with beautiful hair and make up looks, that received compliments all evening! My hair was stunning and stayed in all evening (which was a concern for me because my hair is so thin). I couldn't have asked for a more professional, caring and fun makeup/hair artist than Chessy. If you are in Hampton Roads, want a stress free wedding day, and want someone energetic, fun, and highly talented, I highly recommended getting in contact with Chessy! She will work with you, like she did with me to make your wedding a day to remember. I can't thank Chessy and her team enough for making my dreams come true!

Chessy was BEYOND amazing for my wedding. We were unable to do a trial based on my hectic schedule so I was a little nervous to see how day of my wedding would go without trying styles for hair and makeup out. Chessy came early enough in case we wanted to try a few options which wasn't needed at all. She knocked it out of the park on the first try. I got compliments all day long and felt/looked like a million bucks! My makeup lasted all day long in a Summer Beach Ceremony!! It was unbelieveable!! My hair literally lasted from Saturday morning until Sunday Afternoon without being stiff or glued to my head. It was absolutely GORGEOUS! Chessy was so sweet and personable we talked the entire time and she didnt mind once that I had kids running in and out of our session. I can't wait until the next event so I can use Chessy again! Love her!!

Chessy was outstanding! Not only was my hair and makeup done to perfection, she was a pleasure to work with. I had to add hair services for a family member at the last minute (week of) and Chessy took it in stride.

I also had the opportunity to have a hair "trial run" before the wedding. I would highly recommend this! Having searched and pinned numerous pictures of a particular hairstyle, I was certain that's what I wanted. Chessy made it happen. Something felt off, however, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I hadn't planned for anything else, so I was a bit at a loss. Chessy to the rescue! She made changes in several stages - getting a feel for what I liked and didn't like along the way - until we nailed it. I never would've thought I wanted what I ended up going with, but her expertise and patience made all the difference.

Chessy and her assistant were awesome. They did a great job meeting the requests of my bridesmaids and myself as to what we were looking for and even worked with hair accessories that were bought by each of us for use without having performed a consolation before hand due to limited time.

I can't say enough by the Blushing Brides experience, from the moment I booked with Chessy and her team I got the red carpet rolled out for me. I call it a experience because they truly make it personalized to you, Chessy and I met for lunch a 3 months before my wedding where she listened to wedding planning woes offered sound advice and helped me create a vision for my wedding day. The hair trial experience blew me away because not only did Chessy come to me but over coffee and great conversation she transformed my bed head and pillow creased face to more than I had envisioned. I gave her a hodge podge of pictures and a bunch of adjective and she went to work. Chessy took criticism of my hair style like a pro (i honestly just wanted it bigger) and came up with a solution that on my wedding day I could not of been more pleased with. My wedding morning was relaxed as the Blush Brides crew assisted my 3 bridesmaids and 2 moms in getting hair and makeup complete. We ran on schedule for the most part and just enjoyed a very relaxed morning, folks came in and out of the bridal suite and team continue to work to make each of my bridesmaids feel beautiful on my day. Chessy even stayed to assist us in getting my veil secured in place before we headed down the aile. I would recommend Blushing Brides to any one getting married, the experience starts the greatest day of your life off on the right heel! Words can't express how wonderful they were to work with!

Simply the best!!!! Chessy is truly an artist !!!! She did a phenomenal job with my daughter's wedding. She made my daughter and her bridesmaids look so naturally beautiful. Not at all overdone...just understated beauty!!! The makeup was perfect for pictures and also perfect in natural sunlight!! They looked amazing. Chessy and her team are very professional and very easy to work with...not to mention fun!!!! Absolutely the best make up I have ever seen!!!! Chessy and her Blushing Brides team is FABULOUS! Having used her services as both a bridesmaid and as I bride, I have to say that they do phenomenal work.

When deciding on hair and makeup for my wedding, I decided on them right away because I was so pleased with their work before. She very quickly wrote up a contract, and that was it!

Their prices were very affordable (about $250 per person) and removed the hassle of making appointments that morning because she came right to my house! How wonderful it was to just walk downstairs and know that I wouldn't have to worry about a thing.

They arrived promptly on time, were perfectly on schedule, and did a very good job cleaning up and keeping me calm that morning. They really do their best to get to know you and share in that memory that is your special day.

The job they did was so wonderful, and I will be eternally grateful, especially after seeing how great it looked in pictures! I have oily skin and difficult hair, but it kept so well (although they do offer a touch up package). I would recommend working with them any time not only because of their professionalism but their charismatic personalities that make you feel like they're one of the family on your special day. You'll love working with them!

I live out of town so I did not have time for a trial for my wedding hair and makeup. I am very pick with my hair being styled and my make up as well. I have had my hair profesionally done several times, and I'm never really happy or excited about it. However, Chessy was AMAZING. My hair looked the best it ever looked. My makeup looked great. Got compliments all night on both. But the best response was my husband's jaw dropping when I walked down the aisle.
Chessy was so polite and professional. She was a pleasure. I even said "something is missing - we need music" and she stopped everything and ran to her car and came back with music and speakers! She was incredible.
Karlie did my daughter's hair, my sister's hair, and my mom's. She did a great job and was fun too. She did such an amazing job on my daughter's hair, that it stayed and she was able to wear it the next day to her dance.

Chessy and the Blushing Bride team were amazing to work with from the beginning! Chessy was there through the entire process! She was great at responding to emails, answering questions, changing my contract, and listening to me about how I wanted my big day to go! I showed her a picture of what I wanted during the trial and she did it perfectly (maybe even better:)which made me completely stress free on my wedding day!! Chessy is without a doubt, the best person I dealt with when planning my wedding. How I looked was #1 on my list of stressors because you want to look like yourself but... better :) I ended up crying when she was done because I've never felt prettier!!

She is so talented and her sweet personality just makes working with her such a great experience. I seriously cannot say enough about Chessy and her committment to her business. She is there any time you want to talk to her and you never feel like you're bothering her or she's too busy for your questions. I felt like she was a friend by the morning of the wedding because she was so easy to get along with. Most importantly, people RAVED about my hair and makeup.

I made her give me business cards so I could hand them out to any of my friends who were looking for a stylist for their big day because she is THAT good :)

Chessy was the first vendor I booked for my wedding! We have a mutual friend and I knew I was going to be loyal to that relationship. I could not have been happier with the service Chessy provided. The trial she did with both me and my mom ensured I would be thrilled on my wedding day. She took the critiques and concerns I had to heart and was able to perfect the look I had in my mind on my big day! Chessy was recommended to me by my wonderful photographer, and after I booked was so excited to learn she was also doing the makeup for my best friend's wedding. From the moment I started emailing her she was fabulous! She was so quick to respond, I had to adjust my contract several times and each time she was so accommodating and sweet, even answering up to the week before with last minute changes! From the minute she and her team arrived the morning of the wedding they was so much fun and so professional! She even pulled out her own speaker so we could hook up Pandora and jam to Spice Girls radio while getting ready. Everyone looked so gorgeous that day and I will tell you the moment I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror I started crying because I looked like a BRIDE! Chessy and her team made me feel so beautiful that day I will always be in her debt! SHE IS FABULOUS!!!!

I actually won my hair and makeup package at a bridal show, and I am sooooo lucky I did - I added on hair/makeup for my bridal party. I cannot say enough good things about Chessy and her team! They did an amazing job on the hair and makeup for me, my mom, my mother-in-law, and my bridesmaids! They were very sweet, professional, organized, and wonderful at what they do! Chessy went above and beyond by coming to the venue to put my veil on me and do touch-ups between our first look and ceremony ... I cried more than a few times and she was there to touch me up :) My hair stayed perfect the whole night despite a lot of dancing! Despite being 8 1/2 months pregnant, she was very enthusiastic and did such a wonderful job! I was told so many times that I looked "stunning" and our pictures turned out beautifully! I felt amazing the whole day and everyone looked great! I very highly recommend her services, which are all conveniently done on-site at the site of your choosing.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this review, but the nine months since my wedding have been a whirlwind (we just welcomed our first born!). That said, better late than never! I cannot say enough about Chessy. She was extremely accommodating and did an amazing job with my makeup. Her professionalism is top notch, and she went above and beyond in more ways than one. Here are just a few examples: My hair fell after the stylist had gone, and Chessy jumped right in and fixed it, good as new. My nerves were a wreck and after changing into my dress, we discovered that I had broken out in hives, which were very noticeable. Chessy was able to airbrush my chest and neck, totally concealing them. Then, to top it off, I was late for my own wedding and left my dressing room in a dash. When I returned later that night, she had picked up, locked everything and left me the sweetest note! I truly felt beautiful, and my pictures from that day are breathtaking. A 5 star vendor all the way!

Chessy was amazing! She was so helpful in all avenues of wedding planning and she was more than happy to help with anything and everything. Her makeup is amazing and I was so incredibly pleased with my makeup and how she was able to cover all of my "problem areas" to make me feel pretty on my special day. I loved my hair and she definitely knows how to do classic, beautiful styles. I loved all of my bridesmaids' hair and she was so approachable and open to changing things if ppl wanted something different. She is super professional, prompt, organized, and enthusiastic about her job. LOVE her!!!

Chessy was absolutely amazing!! A friend of mine was supposed to do my hair and makeup but had to back out due to travel issues at the last minute. I contacted Chessy with a little over a week to go and she was able to fit me in! I'm so glad I went with BlushingBrides, she was so professional and wonderful and I can honestly say I've never felt more beautiful. Responsiveness/Flexibility: Chessy and her team are lifesavers. My original hair and makeup vendor cancelled on me two months before my wedding. I immediately started googling and calling other hair and makeup artists. Chessy was the first to get back to me even though she was driving home from working an event. She listened to my needs and was able to work up a proposal I could easily access online and she could easily modify. It was a great online system for her to get information from me, and for me to make payments. Chessy and I communicated frequently through phone calls and text messages throughout working together, and if I left a question open, she would follow-up with me so that all the details were covered. She met with me at my home for a hair and make up trial. When my hair wasn't able to fulfill what I imagined it would look like for my wedding, she went above and beyond in finding me affordable clip in extensions to make my hair very full. Everyone in my wedding party, and the groom, were impressed and shocked that it was not all my real hair, it matched so well!
Cost/Value: Blushing Bride's cost was comparable to what my original vendor and other vendors I spoke with cost, but her friendliness, responsiveness, and talent really stood out.
Professionalism: Chessy and her team put me at ease and were great to work with as a frazzle brained bride. She made sure I drank lots of water as I was getting ready!
Quality of Service: Outstanding. My beauty exceeded what I hoped for on my wedding day. My bridesmaids, sister, and mother also looked amazing!

Chessy was so friendly and flexible. My bridesmaids and I really enjoyed working with her and her makeup artist, Nancy. Chessy worked with me during my makeup trial to get the exact look I was hoping for, and I was completely happy with my makeup on my wedding day. The Blushing Brides was an amazing gift to give to my ladies in our wedding! They were professional, organized, polite, funny, and so excited to be a part of our big day. Chessy and Darcy were amazing! I ordered services for hair, make-up plus false lashes for myself (bride) and three bridesmaids, plus the two moms. Both of the women were so sweet, meticulous and patient with us, and they were a lot of fun to talk to. One of the moms was especially picky about her hair and makeup because she usually goes natural, and she was so thrilled the way it turned out! Chessy didn't rush us and stayed even a little longer to make sure everyone was gorgeous. I am so lucky to have hired her for my wedding day... she made me look and feel beautiful!

Chessy did a beautiful job on my makeup and was very responsive to my requests since it was important to me to look natural. Afterwards, my mom commented on how she loved that it still really looked like me, since she's seen wedding pictures where the bride is so "done up" that it doesn't really resemble how she normally looks, and I really didn't want that.

After the trail run a few weeks before the wedding, Chessy put my biggest fear to rest about the makeup not lasting all day since I struggle with an oily complexion. On the day of the wedding, Chessy finished my makeup at 11am, and at the end of the reception at 7pm, it was still perfect.

Chessy was also so kind in going beyond what I had hired her to do (just my makeup). I had someone else do my hair before the makeup, and she even tucked in a few pieces with bobby pins that were sticking out. She also generously spritzed the bridesmaids' and moms' faces with a setting spray so that their makeup would stay in place.

I would highly recommend Chessy for hair and or makeup. I had a very positive experience with her. I've already referred her to a friend!

The girls did a fantastic job! You could tell they really loved what they did! I got tons of compliments on my makeup and hair and Eugene didn't even smash the cake in my face since my makeup was so pretty! (He wasn't wearing any makeup, so obviously he got it bad ;)). Chessy came to our house the afternoon of my daughter's Senior prom. She was so great - her friendly smile and sweet personality immediately put everyone at ease. She did my daughter's hair in long, flowing curls, with a braided crown that was absolutely stunning. Then she did my daughter's make-up and gave her a natural look with just the right amount of coverage for picture taking time - and it lasted throughout the evening. My daughter looked amazing - beautiful - and she felt great, and relaxed, after being pampered and chatting with Chessy that afternoon! We all really liked Chessy - and to top it off, she's such a genuinly nice, talented person. I HIGHLY recommend Chessy Hewitt if you want to feel pampered and beautiful on your special occassion.

I have always loved doing my make up and hair and therefore I am very picky about who I let do those things for me because they NEVER live up to my expectations. For my wedding, I obviously wanted to look the best that I ever have. Chessy did this better than I ever could have imagined. She listened and ask questions during the process and honestly did everything perfect. My husband even told me that he has never seen my make up look so amazing. There really is no other word then perfection. Chessy and Nancy also did all my bride's maids and my mother's hair and make up as well. This was the same outcome; everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Our guests kept saying how beautiful the bridal party looked. She was able to capture the simple elegance for my mother (who has never had an updo) and it looked amazing. My sister wanted simple beach waves and that, again, was exactly what we got. One of my bridesmaid wanted a sock bun but once she had it all done it turned out it was a look that was better in thought than in reality for her. All I had to do was mention it to Chessy and she went back to her and changed a few things and, yet again, it was perfect. I wish I had met Chessy before this point so that I could have used her everytime I was going to a black tie event. I am thankful that now I do know her and will never want anyone else to do my hair and make up. A million thanks for the beautiful work and easy day!

Chessy was incredibly personable and bubbly. She worked with what I wanted, while also making some of her own suggestions, and did a beautiful job with my hair and makeup! My friends complimented me a lot on both pictures after my trial and at prom at how well everything turned out. I don't know what I would have done without these two awesome ladies. Not only did they do an amazing job with my hair and makeup as well as that of all my girls, they offered help to the other ladies as well on the last minute touch ups and even offered me earrings when I was having issues with mine. Can't find nicer or more helpful people and I am so glad I had them there for my big day.

Chessy Hewitt was awesome to work with. Her and her assistant did a great job with our hair and makeup. There was the bride, the mother of the bride and the maid of honor and all of us were very pleased with the outcome. They came to us and made us feel relaxed and ready for the big day. I hired Chessy to do my makeup before my wedding Ceremony and she was amazing! She did a great job on my makeup and hair. The airbrush makeup she used was flawless and stayed on all day. She was able to capture the "look" I was trying to get from the photos I showed her. She was also very FLEXIBLE. She started my hair and makeup at 6:15am because my day started really early. She was also very responsive to to my emails and calls. If you are looking for someone to make you look your best on your wedding day, call her... she is the best!!!!! I would recommend her to anyone, I have already given her contact information out to a friend who is getting married later this summer!.

I had Chessy do my hair and makeup for my wedding. She is amazing and I would definitely recommend her. She listened to what I wanted and helped me to figure out the right hair style. I booked Chessy for a trial and for my wedding day all in one package. (Ladies, book a trial BEFORE you sign the contract for your actual wedding day. It seems like common sense, but I didnt have anyone tell me that!) My first trial with Chessy did not go very well. The makeup did not settle well on my face and it made me look much, much older. She was kind enough to book me a second, free trial, which the makeup ended up doing the same thing. The amazing thing about Chessy is that she actually went out and bought a new airbrush machine that I knew had worked on my face by a different MUA for my engagement photos. On my actual wedding day, they showed up 30 minutes late, so I ended up missing my bridesmaid luncheon (you know how everyone on a wedding day is scheduled down to the minute,) and my hair fell out before the reception, so one of my bridesmaids had to re-do it before my entrance. My makeup looked FLAWLESS though. I had asked for a soft, natural look, which was perfect for a winter wedding. Chessy is one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet, and was extremely professional when I was having trouble with the makeup during the first two trials. I would definitely book a trial with her, but understand that hair and makeup is EXTREMELY expensive for a wedding day. Every MUA(not just her) seems to charge double for weddings, but thats just how inflated the wedding scene is! ( I want to keep my review anonymous because I don't like putting my name out there, but Chessy should know exactly who this is) :)

Very unhappy. I deleted my original review because I'm not getting into a p*ssing contest on here and I certainly don't want to hurt someone's business. Chessy is a very sweet girl but was unable to do what I wanted. I don't know if she was not capable, or if she was seeing something different in the pictures I showed her. It doesn't matter now. Not only did we pay $990 and did not use her for my makeup and hair (which was $445), we had to pay an addictional $250 to hire two other girls a week before my wedding! And she refuses to refund my mother? I think that's absolutely rotten. I also started out with 4 Bridesmaids and ended up with only 3....but we paid for 4 and lost that money also. I think your contract is a trap and you really should change your contract. There is no reason someone should be charged for services that were never performed and they should have the option to receive a refund. Sometimes you just do the right thing, and that will certainly help your business. I'm sorry to write a negative review, but it's the truth.
