Ashley & team were awesome! Both hair and makeup were exactly what I hoped for!

Ashley and her team were amazing! I got married back in August 2023, but Blush was one vendor that I really wanted to positively review (even if it was late!). Ashley's humor paired with her experience made the whole getting-ready process a dream! She made me feel a fun, excited calm, knowing that I was in good hands. When we met a couple of months prior for my trial, she was detail-oriented and warm, helping me feel comfortable to voice what I liked and wanted. For makeup, I felt like myself and nothing was heavy. Her products were excellent quality. I really wanted Hollywood waves which required a lot of work! Her team helped figure out how to secure my flower pins AND make it last until midnight. Lastly, she is so sweet! From covering up my cousin's mosquito bite with concealer, to offering to make sure nothing budged after my first look tears, Ashley goes the distance and it stands out as someone who made me feel special on my wedding day. Thank you, Ashley & team!! :)

Exceptional Wedding Hair and Makeup

Ashley was my hair and makeup stylist for my June wedding in Santa Cruz. She is absolutely amazing and beyond talented, and I was so lucky that she and her team were available. I was hesitant about wearing my hair up because it is not my preferred style, but due to the windiness of our venue it was necessary to do a bun. She worked with me at the trial to do an up-do and adjust my make-up so that I felt beautiful. We had eight other few family and friends also getting their hair and make-up done and she created a schedule that worked with our time-table and her team had us all done precisely on time. She and her team bring such a great vibe during the hours it takes to get ready for a wedding and I would highly recommend booking her!!

Above & Beyond HMUA specializing in Natural Looks

Working with Ashley was THE BEST.

Firstly, Ashley is a great collaborator and a very skilled HMUA. She worked with me both on email and during my trial to create the exact ‘natural’ look I wanted. I truly have never felt more beautiful! Ashley creates such a relaxed and calm but also fun environment, it felt like I had a beloved friend helping me look and feel my best.

Ashley also went above and beyond on my wedding day. Firstly, by making sure I personally was taken care of during a getting ready location change (in very wet weather!) - for which I couldn’t have been more grateful! Secondly, she put me at ease and created a very serene environment pre-ceremony - I felt so centred and grounded. I was also worried about being a big crier and potentially messing up my look from happy tears - and Ashley worked with me on a plan that kept me looking flawless all day/night.

I highly, highly recommend working with Ashley and the team at Blush HMD. Shout out also to Camille and Tanika - my entire bridal party loved their HMU looks!

Nothing but rave reviews here! From the moment she arrived, Ashley’s warmth and personable nature instantly put me at ease. It felt like having a friend there to get me ready for our special day.
Not only does Ashley have incredible talent for hair and makeup, but she also had an intuitive understanding of my style and preferences. She listened attentively to my ideas and concerns, and then worked her magic to far exceed my expectations.

I felt gorgeous!!

Ashley is amazing! She helped me think through multiple completely different hair and makeup looks for my wedding (since I am very indecisive!) and struck a great balance between supportive of whatever I chose while also giving me great feedback on what would look great with my venue and dress. My whole wedding party was thrilled with their hair and makeup, and the experience of working together was fun and relaxing. And of course, I LOVED how I looked on my wedding day! I got so many compliments on my hair and felt beautiful. One specific thing I noticed is that my skin looked better than it's looked with any other makeup artist I've tried - there was no element of cakiness and I felt like I was glowing. I highly recommend Ashley & her team for your wedding!!!

Blown away by ashley @ blush!

From the very first time I spoke with Ashley, she felt like an old friend. She seems to have mastered a way of being both charismatic and funny, while maintaining an extreme level of professionalism.
I chose not to do a trial before the big day. While that might have been extremely nerve-racking for some, I wasn't worried at all because Ashley really went the extra mile, taking time to talk me through different options and ideas and she was so patient with me while I tried to make a decision about my wedding hairstyle.
One of my fondest memories of our wedding day was the time spent getting ready with my ladies. Ashley truly felt like she belonged there with us, just another one of the girls.
And now for the most important part...... the end results were AMAZING!!! Ashley is a magical hair and makeup unicorn. I don't wear a lot of makeup in my day-to-day life so I explained to her that while I definitely wanted to wow my groom, I also wanted to look and feel as natural as possible. She used the most beautiful combination of neutral tones and delivered exactly what I was hoping for! And the hair!! I can't say enough about the hair! I'm including some pictures below. It was a soft and gentle updo with a braid. The perfect blend of whimsical and classic. And the best part is, it stayed right in place, absolutely perfect, for the entire day!

Can't Recommend Enough!

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Ashley and her team over the years as she did my sister's wedding in 2021 and mine in June 2023. I can't say enough good things! She is so easy to work with, very professional, and fun. She is very knowledgeable and skilled in her craft.

I highly recommend doing a hair and makeup trial with her. I got to try out the extensions there and a strip lash since I've never worn one before. She highly recommended the hair extensions as they hold a curl very well especially with all the moisture in the air in Carmel. Thank god for her recommendation because the extensions held a curl all night whereas my real hair underneath went flat. Ashley took notes of my changes and perfectly applied them on the wedding day. She truly listens to you and doesn't just do what she likes.

My MIL did a trial as well as she was incredibly nervous to get her hair and makeup done. She called me after the trial and RAVED about how wonderful and lovely Ashley and her team were and how happy she was with how beautiful and natural her hair and makeup were. She truly felt like herself. Ashley completely calmed her nerves which in turn relieved some of my stress.

On the wedding day Ashley and her team were on time and perfectly stuck to the schedule. I can't even begin to explain how relaxed the entire morning was, it was such a joy! Everyone looked absolutely beautiful and I was so happy with my makeup. Everything was perfection and I felt beautiful.

One thing to note (which is not a negative) is that her team leans on the more natural side. If you say you want natural makeup, they really mean natural. So if you're used to a lot of makeup, don't be afraid to do some glam!

Couldn't have asked for a more perfect look!

I couldn't be happier with Ashley and her team! From the moment we met during our trial, she was warm, inviting, and had such a calming presence. She opened the door for feedback very early on to make sure I felt comfortable with making any tweaks to my hair and makeup.

I wore extensions for the first time ever during my trial for the wedding. She understood exactly how to work with my hair (that hardly ever holds a curl) to extend the life of the curls over a long period of time.

My makeup was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I wanted it to feel warm, but not glammy. I wanted to enhance my natural features and feel like "me." She pushed me a little outside of my comfort zone with a tone of lipstick during the trial that I ended up LOVING and it went so well with my dress, so we went for that color and it looked fantastic in all of the photos.

Most importantly, on the wedding day, Ashley and her team were the first ones there setting up, and she was such a calming presence throughout the morning and helped make getting ready so much fun.

Blush wedding hair and makeup

Ashley and her team were absolutely amazing! When I met with ashley for my consultation, she took her time to talk through what I had in mind and help me find direction in things that I was unsure of. She’s so warm and welcoming and easy to work with! I had a big bridal party, but everything stayed to schedule, and everyone looked and felt beautiful! It really helped create a stress free wedding morning.

Type A brides, look no further than Blush!

I got married in Big Sur in August 2023 and was VERY happy with my choice of Ashley/Blush for hair and makeup. I live in Los Angeles and am into fashion and beauty, so my standards are pretty high in terms of what I expect out of execution, detail, and elegance for my hair and makeup. At the same time, I'm a down-to-earth person and the last thing I wanted was a snooty or high-glam vibe from my stylist on my wedding day. Ashley was the perfect fit. She listened carefully to what I wanted, asked for inspiration photos for myself and everyone in my bridal party, took over 6 hours on my trial making everything just perfect, helped me figure out what kind of hair extensions to purchase, took a long list of suggestions from me about subtle changes I wanted to make for the actual wedding day, and executed them all perfectly. Ashley even volunteered to take home my hair extensions after the trial, wash them, and prepare them for the wedding day. She is fast and responsive over email, accommodating of requests, and very reasonably priced compared to other artists in the area. And best of all she doesn't come off like an annoying LA-type stylist. She is actually someone I would be friends with. She fit in really well with my friends and family, knew just when to laugh along with us and when to be quiet/contemplative to match my changing moods on the day of my wedding. My overall look was romantic, fresh, pretty, elegant, and natural but glamorous. The rest of her team was great as well--we had two different getting ready locations and they covered them both, and really listened to what each member of the bridal party wanted. Ashley and her team go the extra mile and as a Type A bride, she is someone I would work with again if only she lived closer to LA! Thanks Ashley!

I’d give 10 stars if I could

Ashley and her team were so amazing on my wedding day. I was worried because I have had bad experiences getting my makeup done before, but from the start Ashley made me feel so comfortable. In the trial she really helped me figure out what I wanted. She even helped with making sure my schedule for the day of the wedding made sense so we were on time by the time the photographer arrived. She communicated so consistently despite me being across the country and was so fun on the morning of the wedding. I went from having anxiety about my hair and makeup to feeling absolutely beautiful. Several of my bridesmaids also said they have never felt prettier. And somehow she worked magic and none of our hair got messed up despite the wind! I’d recommend her in a heartbeat.

Ashley is amazing!

Ashley is the BEST! As is her colleague, Camille. Ashley did the hair and make-up for my daughter’s wedding, and everyone was extremely happy with the results: the bride, myself and the MOG, and the bridesmaids. At my daughter’s HMU trial, Ashley listened attentively to her vision and, when asked, provided advice on how to best achieve the look she was striving for. My daughter looked absolutely stunning for her wedding! A perfect balance of natural glow and bringing out her beautiful eyes, cheekbones and lips for an elegant and romantic look. Not only is Ashley gifted artistically, but she is so much fun! There was a lot of laughter exchanged during the trial and on the actual wedding day. Ashley has a fabulous sense of humor. Additionally, Ashley is very professional and organized. Camille, part of Ashley’s team, did the make-up for the wedding. Camille is an absolute sweetheart! She did a beautiful job on all of us. She adapted to the different skin types and requests from each of us and brought out our best features in a natural manner. Additionally, Ashley was proactive by taking into consideration the possibility of fog/moisture in the air at the venue (outdoors near ocean) in the products used for hair and skin. Every single hair style and make-up application held up beautifully throughout the entirety of the wedding ceremony/reception/after party! We wholeheartedly strongly recommend Ashley and her team at “Blush Makeup and Hair.” You will be in the best of hands for your special day! Ashley and her team are very popular though, so book her early!

Great from start to finish

We hired Ashley for bridal hair & makeup, 4 members of our wedding party, and some light hair styling and skincare prep for the groom. We were so happy with our decision to hire her! Ashley and I did a trial a few months before the wedding, and based on that were able to make some adjustments for the day of. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis, so it was very important to me to find a makeup artist who could do a "natural glam" type style and Ashley nailed it! All of the other wedding party members getting services were super happy with their experience as well. Ashley is also a very chill and kind person and helped me to feel relaxed on the day. I recommend hiring her!

Perfect wedding hair + makeup

Ashely (hair) and Tanika (makeup) are an amazing team who were so easy and fun to work with! They did hair/makeup for me and 4 bridesmaids and a hair/makeup trial a few weeks ahead of time for me. I'm not great at doing my own hair/makeup, so I was nervous about correctly describing what I wanted and getting a hair and makeup look that was right for me. Luckily, Ashley and Tanika both listened, looked at my inspiration photos, and helped me pick out elements I liked that would work for my (outdoor) wedding setting and comfort level. Ashley quickly learned what would work for my hair and created a beautiful updo that stayed in place all night with no issues. Tanika created a great natural makeup look, and she's the only person who has ever convinced me to wear false eyelashes! She applied them so well that I never even noticed them. They were both fun, professional, and kept us on schedule. They were the perfect team and I would recommend them to anyone.

Professional, friendly, and fun - highly recommend!

Ashley is an amazing artist and I am so grateful that I booked my wedding hair and make up with her and her team! First off, I am not a makeup/hair type gal and have little to no knowledge about these things. Ashley helped me feel incredibly comfortable with the whole process and I immediately knew I was in good hands. Our makeup and hair trial was so much fun, and she is flexible and open to ideas. She also walks you through what she is doing, encourages honesty, and thoroughly answers your questions and gives great advice.

Ashley and her team were honestly so fun to be around the morning of the wedding. It felt like I was hanging out with long-time friends, even while she and her team were hard at work at making me and my bridal party look beautiful! Her whole team was punctual, worked quickly and efficiently, and were very organized.

Ashley is Amazing!

I cannot recommend Ashley of Blush Hair & Makeup Design enough. From initial contact to trial to my wedding day, Ashley was organized, professional and SO FUN to work with. Incredibly thoughtful and a joy to be around

So, so grateful I had Ashley on my team! I had the best experience! Can I get re-married so we can hang out again?

I met Ashley in 2019 for a hair and make-up trial. I chose her because she seemed down to earth, I liked her portfolio, and she was very responsive.

For the trial, I didn't know exactly what I wanted (natural, romantic, etc), but she was able to put my ideas/vibe into life. She took pictures and detailed notes. Not only was she responsive to my very minor grievances, she was validating and supportive.

On the day of (...two years later), she had all the notes from our session and knew exactly what to do. The make-up was perfect, I felt comfortable, and did not make any adjustments. But the most amazing part was my hair. I have a massive amount of hair, and I’ve never had an updo where I didn’t feel the bobby pins holding it up. She was able to do an amazing updo that I wasn't worried about coming loose and did not have any pain!

Lastly, I emphasize what a joy Ashley is to be around. The morning of a wedding day can be hectic with high-emotions. Ashley and her team were punctual, professional, and just so much fun to be around. It was a delightful and laughter-filled morning -- perfect way to start the perfect day.

A talented artist who is a joy to work with

When I was interviewing a hair and makeup artist I instantly knew Ashley was the one. I was a little nervous about not having an in-person trial, however, she was an excellent guide and able to help walk me through my vision virtually. We never met until my wedding day, but just through our conversations, I trusted her completely. I was thrilled at the opportunity to use hair extensions for the first time, and also matched virtually. With a few photos on a Pinterest board, she completely transformed me into a stunning version of myself. Ashley is a joy, and it was fun being with her the morning of my wedding. I was eloping and didn’t have a bridal party which was completely fine because I felt like I was glamming up with a close friend. She is a master at her craft and turned my fine hair into a spectacular voluminous updo. The makeup was perfect for me, fancy but not over the top, and it lasted through to the evening. I loved my hair so much I slept with it and all the bobby pins! I am glad I did because the next day I had the most glorious waves. Ashlee put me on cloud 9 with professional treatment. She went above and beyond when helping me navigate with my full gown down to my first look. She made me feel like a red carpet celebrity. I wish I could look like that every day if I only had the hours needed. Thank you for making me feel stunning inside and out and supporting me during one of the best days of my life.

Perfect experiece for a perfect day

First off I should say, I hardly ever wear make-up, sometimes mascara, and never foundation. Also, I’ve never gotten my hair professional done. So with that said, not only did Ashley get me and what I was going for right away, but she checked in with me every step along the way to make sure I felt comfortable and happy with the direction we were going. My make-up was perfect, it was natural but still made me feel like a model from a bridal magazine! My hair was exactly what I wanted. I had a huge flower crown to work with, and she got it right on, stilll managing to make me look like I had just woken up as a fairy in a midsummer night’s dream.
We had a long video chat and many follow up conversations and pinterest shares, which really helped put my mind at ease since I never did a trial. I think Ashley has a great natural intuition for what look the bride is going for and how to achieve it. There is nothing I would change about my hair and make up.
I also want to mention that at the last minute she was able to change around her schedule and accomadate extra hair and make-up, plus gave a little attention to almost every person in my bridal party. She truly made my wedding day feel special, like something out of a movie! I am forever grateful.

The MUA of my Dreams !

Ashley made me feel truly beautiful and confident on my wedding day. When we had our first meeting, I felt like i was talking with a long time friend. I felt so comfortable with her, she was able to answer all of my questions and even share my dreams of becoming an esthetician. I cannot recommend Ashley enough for your wedding and special occasion glam! She is incredibly professional, easy to communicate with and goes above and beyond to make you feel like a million bucks. Love, in the time of Covid

This is not a standard review. But then again, postponing our wedding due to Covid-19 was not standard or expected either.

All that being said, Ashley and Blush Hair & Makeup design were a dream to work with. While we never got to use Ashley's services for our wedding, she was INCREDIBLY supportive, responsive, and empathetic. Working with her felt like working with a friend. The best stylist ever!

Ashley and her team were super friendly and punctual. Ashley herself is very sweet, easy to communicate with and down to earth. I knew I was in good hands, and she styled my hair and makeup exactly how I envisioned! I never felt more beautiful. Ashley is so professional and personable and make the whole wedding hair & makeup experience a breeze! She was attentive and listened to my requests, but also provided recommendations as to what she thinks would work/look best. Compliments were flying

I’m not a girly girl and have low self confidence in myself, but obviously wanted to look amazing in my special day. I had picked out a few hair styles but was extremely concerned about how it would look with my face. Ashley and Tanika were very professional during my trial hair and make up and took notes on what to change on my wedding day. Gotta look the freshest! Fairy Tale Hair

I was looking for a hairstylist that knew how to work with braids and textured hair. As soon as I saw Ashley's work I knew she will be a perfect fit for me and my bridesmaids.
We did a test before the wedding day and she was able to show me 2 different options for the hairstyle I was looking for. It took me almost a week to decide because both styles were gorgeous! On the wedding day, my hair was exactly what I envisioned. Even the next day my hair still looked beautiful.

Ashley is the BEST!

Ashley is the kind of person that you want to be around when your nerves are through the roof on your wedding day. She is not only extremely talented at hair+makeup, but she is calming, funny/silly, and a blast to hang out with. On the day of the wedding, she was almost like a big sister, backing me up and advocating for me! We did a couple hair/makeup trials because I was pretty unsure of my vision and never really get glammed up. Ashley was extremely receptive to my feedback, understood my vision for a “barely makeuped wood nymph,” and executed my wishes perfectly. In looking at her portfolio, it is clear that she can cover the full range of bridal wishes, which truly speaks to her talent. I felt so beautiful (and my husband agreed), and was able to dance my heart out without worrying about my hair and makeup. Shout out to Tanika and Camille, who also helped to make my bridesmaids and mothers look and feel beautiful.

I cannot put into words how wonderful Ashley and her team of women are. They are down to earth, kind, easy going, and made everyone in my bridal party feel so incredibly beautiful and confident. Stunning hair and makeup

Ashley is incredible! I had a rough idea of what I wanted for hair and makeup, but from my trial on, Ashley helped turn my loose vision into the perfect look! She was so open to feedback and understanding what priorities I had for both myself and my bridesmaids. The morning of the wedding Ashley was such a calming presence! We had a lot of morning-of visitors drop by and she made sure to make time for me to say hello to everyone while still keeping us on schedule. She is absolutely an advocate for the bride if needed, which is so nice to have in your corner on such a busy day. It was a bit crazy but she was so calm and cheerful and helped create a calming and positive atmosphere. Also, the looks she and her team created for both myself, the bride, and my bridesmaids and mother were incredible. Everyone felt beautiful and loved both their hair and makeup and mine was absolutely perfect. It lasted so well throughout the day and was more than I could have asked for. I absolutely recommend Ashley, you will not be disappointed!

Ashley and her team were the best I could of had to join me on my wedding day! They were on-time, so friendly and did the most amazing hair and makeup! Ashley and team are very talented, we had a variety of up-do's our hair had braids, curls and twists and all looked gorgeous while the makeup made our skin look smooth and flawless! I cannot recommend Ashley and her assistant Tanika enough. Ashley did my makeup and half my bridesmaids while Tanika did my Mother-in-Law and the other half of the bridesmaids for my wedding in Aptos on July 14, 2018.

From the very beginning, Ashley was always polite and responsive to my e-mail inquiries and when I met her in person, I knew she was the person I wanted for my makeup! Plus is she never pushed a hard sell on anything; she was genuinely jovial and kind. Excellent customer service.

I was a bad bride and did not prepare many examples when I went in for my trial. She knew I did not want a soft glam sort of look and wanted to channel my inner fae queen, and boy did she nail it! My dress had a teal bodice with purple flower accents, so she chose to use purples in my bridal look. It was amazing! My personal aesthetic can result in going a touch overboard so she perfectly managed the line between just enough color without going nuts (which I would do if I were left to my own devices). There were very few tweaks that she happily adjusted and she was patient with my waffling on lip color.

Day of the wedding - once again, I looked stunning. My bridal party looked phenomenal. Ashley is a makeup magician and did my bright colorful look and soft glam for the bridal party; all very tastefully done. Tanika worked wonders as well for my other members. They are a great pair that work in concert with one another. My makeup was completed by 14:45 and it was still perfect by 23:00. I'm sure it would have lasted longer if I needed it to.

Edited to add: I didn't see all of this, but one of my bridesmaid's opted to do her makeup herself (totally fine, since they were paying for it). Ashley took the time to help her with her false lashes and calmed her down when she was freaking out about her makeup. She wasn't paid by this bridesmaid and she was still so sweet and amazing to help out my person!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Ashley. Not only did she give me my dream hair for my wedding (seriously my hair never looked so good in my entire life), but she also applied beautiful false lashes for my mom and bridesmaids. The first time I met Ashley was the day of my wedding. I didn’t do a trial since I live in Los Angeles, but Ashley made me few comfortable and confident in her abilities from her very first email. Not only is her work incredible, she also has a very kind, calming presence which is so important during your wedding day. All my bridesmaids and mom loved their false lashes too! Ashley had a variety of different options when it came to the lashes, so each girl could pick a look that best suited her. If you are thinking of hiring Ashley for your wedding, don’t hesitate and book her ASAP. I’ll update the post with pictures as soon I get my photos back. Ashley was so great to work with and her and her assistant did a beautiful job for me, my bridesmaids, and my mother-in-law at my wedding. I loved my makeup, especially the fake eyelashes! Nothing was too over the top - I still looked like me, but my skin/eyes/lips looked great and the makeup stayed on all night. Ashley was super accommodating and listened to what I really wanted, and was able to adjust as needed. She even brings you nice MAC lipstick day of that you get to keep! Definitely would recommend Ashley for wedding makeup (I had my long-time hair dresser do my hair, otherwise I would have probably used her for hair, too)!

Ashley and her team were fantastic! Our photographer recommended that I reach out to her, and I'm so glad I did. She is fun and keeps things light while being extremely professional. I knew after my trial (about five months before) that I was in good hands. She carefully explained and documented what she was doing and was great about providing suggestions as I was still figuring out exactly what I wanted. I love that she took clear pictures that she shared with me so that I had some time to modify things slightly before the big day (after figuring out accessories, etc.). Originally, I had planned for just my mother and me to have our hair and makeup done, but decided a few months before to request her services for my bridesmaids, as well. She was really great about adding this on and quickly secured two more stylists. I especially appreciated her energy on the morning of the wedding. Her calm, easygoing nature helped me and my ladies feel relaxed and confident. We started right on time and had plenty of time to spare before pictures and the ceremony. Ashley and Tanika did an amazing job that had me smiling from ear to ear on my wedding day. I highly recommend Blush Hair and Makeup Design for your special day!

I arrived at the salon (note I say an actual salon and not someone’s home), and I instantly noted how bright and welcoming it was. It was decorated like something straight out of an Instagram post! My dad was also very happy to get a very lovely cup of tea (or two, or three?) while he waited patiently on the sofa.

The makeup trail was first:

I should note that my skin is incredibly sensitive, and a lot of products break me out like nothing else. I was very pleased that Tanika was prepared with an array of high quality products for me. I also noted how impeccably clean her makeup and equipment was. There wasn’t an eyeshadow dust particle outside of their designated circular containers!!! Very professional. I knew I was in good hands.

I was going for a very natural look, and the whole makeup trial didn’t take more than 45min and the makeup completely covered all of my acne scars without being cakey! Tanika has an absolute magic touch!!!

The hair trial:

Ashley utilized her expertise in guiding me on what would fit my hair type and length best. I was lucky enough in that we had time to try two updos and decide between them as to which worked best.

The whole experience was so much fun!

Ashley made the most marvelous curls and twirls in my hair, and just the right amount of hairspray and bobby pins to keep everything in place, yet still managed to make my hair look touchable. My hair normally can’t hold a curl to save it’s life but Ashely sprinkled some fairy dust and ensured that my hair stayed perfect for the next 10 hours.

On my wedding day, my makeup and hair stayed on through ocean winds and crazy dancing (because hey, I like to dance), from 2PM all the way until midnight when I reluctantly took it all off.

Thank you Blush for making me look and feel so glamorous on my wedding!!

Ashley and her team are absolutely amazing! We had 26 services (13 hair and 13 makeup) for my wedding and not only did every girl look completely gorgeous, the team ran an hour AHEAD of time!! They started right on time but then were so efficient that we ended up having a full extra hour for photos that we otherwise wouldn't have had time to capture. They were fun, incredibly professional, and absolute artists at hair and makeup. I couldn't have asked for anything better. To top it all off, at the last minute as Ashley was about to walk out the door, I suddenly got something in my eye and it started profusely watering. Ashley stayed overtime and completely re-did that half of my eye/face makeup after I got the debris out of my eye. She couldn't have been more sweet and I felt my most beautiful on my big day. All my bridesmaids (plus my mom and my husbands mom) were gushing about how lovely they felt and it made the whole "getting ready" experience so much more fun for me, watching all the girls excitedly showing each other their beautiful hair and makeup. I've never been happy with the unfamiliar face I see looking back in the mirror, but Ashley made me feel like my very best self on my special day and I can't thank her enough! I had minor tweaks from our hair trial and she absolutely nailed it day of. Everything was natural and me, but also held up all day long without even needing a touchup. We decided to elope to Big Sur to get married. I didn’t know any hair & make up people in Big Sur, and I found out about Ashley through the lodge we stayed at. Ashley was an absolute joy to work with and very professional. She arrived on time, and we laughed and giggled as she did my hair and make up, on my wedding day. Blush Hair and Makeup Design (and specifically, Ashley!) were fantastic to work with for my wedding in July. She is extremely responsive and professional as we were figuring out services/quotes/schedules, and I was very happy with the final results, as were my mom, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, and nieces who also had their hair and makeup done. The trial I did a few months before the wedding was extremely helpful -- I don't wear a ton of makeup on a normal day, and Ashley was great about explaining what my options were, and helping me think through what I might want without pushing me too far outside of my comfort zone. On the day of, she and her staff were reliable, professional, and just fun to work with. They were also great with my two young nieces, which I really appreciated! I would definitely work with Blush/Ashley again, and highly recommend them.

Ashley is a DREAM to work with; she did hair for me and my 6 bridemaids and my mother in law--everyone felt SO beautiful and loved their hair--they also just loved Ashley's wonderful, kind, fun and awesome personality! Ashley put my hair in a long braid using extensions and it was absolutely gorgeous (think of the princess from Aladdin)! She was incredibly easy to work with, and helped bring my bridal vision to reality. My makeup was natural and outstanding. Her helpers were great and were flexible in moving girl's times around when girls didn't show up on time. I would use her again and recommend her for your wedding. I didn't do any price shopping prior to booking, so I don't know what typical wedding prices are, my hair and makeup was around $500 which seems reasonable considering the amount of work. Hair for my girls was around $500 for 4 or 5 girls, and makeup was about the same. I went in for 2 trials as the first hairstyle was too formal for my dress (but still beautiful). Reserve Ashley. She's wonderful!

I couldn't have been more happy with the services provided by Blush and would give them more then 5 stars if I could! I hired them to provide wedding hair and make-up services for myself, 4 bridesmaids, 1 junior bridesmaid, 1 flower girl, and for my mom. The owner, Ashley, was responsive and helpful throughout the process leading up to the wedding day. Samantha and Madison (who provided hair and make-up the day of) were wonderful! They were on time that morning, very efficient with getting everyone done before schedule, and friendly throughout the process. I adored my hair and make up and it lasted throughout the day with absolutely no issues. They also made all my bridesmaids look beautiful and exactly how I envisioned. I mean it when I say that working with Ashley was the best decision I made for my wedding (aside from marrying a great groom!) The fact that Ashley is so talented is reason enough to work with her, but she also really listens to you and pays attention to get the look you are going for. The hair and makeup she did for my wedding was even better than what I wanted, and knowing I was in her capable hands made my wedding day run super smoothly. She's also super sweet and hilarious! I met Ashley when she did my hair as a maid of honor for my best friend's wedding in August 2015. My hair was epic and I knew immediately I had to book her for my April wedding. She did hair and makeup for my mother, MOH, and me and we looked flawless! I never felt uncomfortable while I was getting made over and could ask for adjustments if needed (I like my eyeliner!). Ashley and Jessica are the best! My bridesmaids and I loved her team’s hair and makeup services on the day of our wedding in March 2016.

My wedding coordinator, Sarah Villa of La Bella Weddings, had recommended Ashley after having her services on her own wedding day; and as soon as I saw her work I felt excited to meet her. I have very thick, curly hair that I wanted to wear in loose curls (down) for my wedding, and I was quite nervous about working with a new hair stylist. I went for a hair trial at Ashley’s studio in Aptos a few months before the wedding and she completely made me feel at ease. The trial went great, but I have to say my hair on the day of looked even better! I felt so beautiful heading into the wedding, and my hair stayed put all day and into the night!

Jessica, the makeup artist, is also great and gave each of us exactly what we were looking for. I don’t normally wear much makeup and hadn’t done a makeup trial. On the day of, I didn’t think I would need extra lashes but we went with medium lashes and they looked great, very natural! The makeup also stayed put all day and made me feel beautiful.

In short, Ashley is a master with wedding hair (both up and down styles, between me and my bridesmaids!) She is also super flexible and even made time to fix my Mom’s hair on the morning of the wedding, even though this wasn’t in the original plans. Thank you, Ashley and Jessica!

Ashley and her team were awesome! They were so pleasant to be around and they really made my bridesmaids and I feel comfortable and relaxed. Ashley was just superb! I couldn't have asked for a better hair and makeup stylist for my big day. I had done a trial with someone else prior to meeting Ashley and was so blown away with Ashley's down to earth demeanor, her attention to detail, and her ability to make me feel so confident and assured about her ability to pull off the hair and makeup in exactly the way I wanted on my big day. I wanted a side braid for my big day, and Ashley made sure we had it just the way I would want it, even though she had to re-do it a few times to get it just right. And so, I felt just as I would want to feel for the big day. Also, her makeup job stayed on the entire day and looked flawless, natural, and so elegant. I had a ton of compliments from everyone, including my Big Love who was in tears when he saw me for the first time. Ashley was so patient, sweet, and fun which made the entire experience just great - I would highly recommend her services!

Ashley was amazing to work with! She did such a wonderful job and was so kind, flexible, and accommodating to work with from beginning to end, I could not have asked for a better artist to do my wedding. Ashley and her team did both hair and makeup for myself and all 5 of my bridesmaids. She listened very carefully and was so easy to work with, even accommodating me for a second consultation when I had slight changes I wanted to go over with her, and was so friendly every step of the way. She and her team were fun and comfortable to work with, and made all of the girls look so beautiful, keeping with our style and theme, but also complimenting each of their vastly different hair colors, textures and complexions. She even gave me a touch up kit I could use (and did!) throughout the day and night of the wedding, and my (fine and stubborn) hair held her style all through the night, which shocked me. The makeup did not budge until I was removing it at midnight – another amazing feat as my makeup tends to be gone within a couple of hours.
Ashley was very talented and a joy to work with, and I highly, highly recommend her for your wedding and/or event!

Ashley was SO great to work with for my wedding! She did my hair & makeup as well as my bridesmaids' hair -- & everything was flawless. She spent so much time during the trial making sure she understood my vision & took detailed notes to make sure she could re-create the look on the big day (since she had done it perfectly during the trial itself!). She asked for a lot of feedback on what she was doing, which made me feel comfortable sharing my thoughts so she could match my vision perfectly. She was even able to re-jigger the day-of schedule for the wedding day to make sure I was able to squeeze in some morning yoga with my friends, which was so nice. On the big day itself, she was professional, prompt & very calming with great, positive energy. She always made sure I was comfortable (bringing me water, etc.) since you end up sitting in the chair for a while. All the day-of appointments ran on time & we weren't rushed at all. My hair stayed put until the bitter end of the night, despite lots of dancing & bouncing around all evening. My makeup stayed put as well -- & yet it didn't look caked on or too matte. It had a really nice natural look all evening, which was important to me. The photographers even commented on how well the makeup would photograph. One of my bridesmaids has really curly hair, which has been a challenge at every other wedding we've been in together (she typically ends up redoing whatever the hair stylist did because that stylist isn't familiar with curly hair). But she said Ashley's team had done her hair the absolute best she's ever had it done. It was beautiful! I would highly recommend Ashley & Blush to anyone looking for a great makeup/hair artist for their wedding on the Central Coast. She was so easy to work with, fun & calming to have around on the wedding day & didn't have an ego at all -- she & her team were so great about working with me and each of my bridesmaids on "our look" & they were able to execute exactly what we all wanted.

Ashley was so beyond fun to work with. She spent hours in our trial making sure we got everything perfect, taking copious photos to remember every detail. We chatted and laughed throughout the process and her positivity was contagious. It's just a dream to have upbeat people helping you prepare for the biggest day of your life.

The end result was beautiful, she understood my vision exactly and executed a very natural, flawless look. My makeup and hair lasted all night until 1am at my outdoor wedding!

I recently had Ashley and Samantha do my bridesmaid and my hair and makeup for my wedding on October 11th. These ladies are FABULOUS, talented, fun and super professional. I knew from my makeup trial with Ashley that she knew exactly what I wanted and was able to beautifully execute that. On the day of the wedding the girls were there early, actually before us!, and they were all set according to the schedule. My three bridesmaids, mother and mother in law were SOO happy with both the makeup and hair services. Everyone looked beautiful! We definitely recommend their services for any occasion and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Ashley did my makeup and my bridesmaids makeup for the day of the wedding and she did an absolutely amazing job! First off, she is super kind and friendly and so easy to get a long with. She arrived early and on time to set up for the day and she was flexible, concise, and kept calm under all the craziness of the day! The makeup work she did on us was beyond perfect. I received SO many comments all day long of how good my makeup looked, even 12 hours later and EVEN after getting down on the dance floor! Her work is professional and she can cater to any style, need, or request! I would recommend her to everyone I know and use her again in a heart beat!

Ashley is amazing!! She is so talented and she really listens to her clientele. She created exactly what I had in envisioned for myself and my bridal party. She was so accommodating and made everything come together perfectly. I couldn't have been happier with the services she provided and would highly recommend her and the whole team at Blush to anyone.

Ashley was excellent!!... She did a fantastic job!! I was told I looked stunning!! All good comments!! and I was very at ease with her as she has a fantastic personality. She arrived very early which lessened any stress also.. Perfect Day!
Will definitely return for portraits, special events and or even a pampering day...
