BluSage was an absolute delight to work with, from start to finish! First of all, they were one of the only caterers who listened to our need for vegan, gluten free, and children's meals and provided delicious options (not just boring veggies or chicken nuggets.) Michelle was full of energy and made us so excited for our big day, and was super responsive to our questions and changes. From food to table settings, they really helped bring our wedding together, and we could not have been happier! -

Michelle and her team at R&R Catering/BluSage Cuisine were the PERFECT caterers for our wedding! It was truly all AMAZING... the food, service, working with the flexibility of our venue that had a lot of different spaces for our guests... it was all just so amazing and perfect. They catered both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding, which were different styles and both absolutely delicious. We highly recommend Michelle as she went above and beyond to help make our day amazing.

Candace Sent on 06/01/2015R&R Catering served the BEST wedding food I have ever had! And I'm not just saying that because it was my wedding, haha. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the tortellini was a huge guest favorite! There was also a ton of food at the very elegant buffet, so everyone was full and happy!
I worked closely with Anne and she was an absolute blessing. We had a tight budget for food, and she went above and beyond to accommodate. On the day of the wedding, she checked in with the groom and I throughout the night to make sure we were taken care of--this included making sure we ate a full plate of food before greeting our guests, and ensuring I always had a glass of wine in my hand!
The R&R Catering staff was extremely professional and friendly, and I highly recommend them! -

Amber Sent on 04/15/2015R&R Catering did our farm wedding last weekend and I would highly recommend them. We found their prices to be comparable with others but more bang for your buck. It's the little things that I found people charge you for and when R&R didn't - I appreciated that. They did a tasting with us so that we could taste everything that would be served at the wedding.
On the big day, my new hubby and I were greeted with food when we were taking pictures and then they had a plate ready for us when we were ready to eat at the reception. I've had several guests mentioned that they enjoyed the food as well.
My coordinator was Heather and I appreciated her help throughout the process. She really took that extra step to make sure everything would go just as planned. The staff who were in charge on the day should also get Kudos as there wasn't anything left behind.

Brittany Sent on 02/16/2015My wife and I used R&R Catering for our wedding reception on January 2nd and we couldn't have been happier! Natalie S. was our event designer and she was absolutely fantastic to work with! First, the food was great! All of our guests commented that they really enjoyed the selections. R&R's menu has many many choices and we were able to tailor our reception to our preferences and that of our guests. The price was also very reasonable considering the high quality of the food.
Natalie was very helpful from all aspects. She helped us pick our linens and china, and coordinated our selections with our florist. She was very responsive through email, text, and calls for anything we needed. She even gave us advice and recommendations for other non-catering aspects of our wedding and gave us tips on how to save money.
The service at our reception was also top notch! All in all our experience with R&R was fantastic. My wife and wouldn't have changed a thing about our catering and we highly recommend R&R for brides and grooms to-be! -

They gave great recommendations when I was overwhelmed with the all of the decisions that needed to be made, which made things a lot easier on me! They made sure my wedding party got food and drinks during the cocktail hours after pictures as well as made sure my husband and I had full plates and cups during the reception. I highly recommend them- they do not disappoint! -

It had to be fantastic, and R&R had the best food and service at the best prices around. I expected great food and professionalism at our wedding, and they provided that and much more. They have tons of choices when it comes to linens and other details. We also threw out a surprise at the last minute because of the weather and we changed our ceremony from outside to inside where the dinner was going to be. They totally transformed the room from the ceremony to the reception during the cocktail hour. The service was spectacular - there was always someone coming to make sure that we had a drink in our hand or food on our table. We got a lot of great compliments on the food. The staff of R&R thought of everything, and they really helped us to enjoy our special day! -

Scott Sent on 05/28/2013It’s pretty easy to understand why R&R Catering is so highly regarded around the DMV. Caterers in the area generally seem to fall into one of two categories – insanely overpriced, and everything else. Unfortunately, the latter group can sometimes seem like a small bunch of “meh” as you feel like you’re rummaging through the vendor bargain bin. And then you stumble onto R&R. For a while you’ll keep thinking that you’re missing something – that there’s a nasty, hidden catch somewhere that will unexpectedly leave you on the hook for thousands of dollars in fees, or something like that. And that makes it an even more pleasant surprise when you finally convince yourself that there really isn’t a “gotcha”.
There’s a reason the Redskins picked R&R, too, and for them you can be sure it wasn’t just about cost. No, R&R actually has some great food, too. They don’t just deliver boxes of barely-edible stuff in mass quantity; their food is actually something that you can enjoy. In fact, narrowing your choices down to a couple of items can be a daunting task, but thankfully R&R provides a tasting opportunity at their HQ (pro tip: do it – the menu is huge). Whether you just need some food, or the whole nine yards – linens, cups, drinks, china, etc. – they can help.
For our wedding the catering experience could not have been better. R&R showed up exactly on time, with everything ready, performed a quick setup, and provided everything as we had agreed upon. In the end, our 100+ guests uniformly seemed to enjoy everything and want for nothing. And R&R doesn’t skimp on quantity, either – there was plenty for everyone, even those indecisive ones who sign up for the chicken but take the fish. So if you’ve got any sort of event that requires catering on a scale of more than a few people, you absolutely should consider R&R. Their sterling reputation around the area is well deserved. -

From the initial consultation with Anne, to the actual day off, you could tell that the staff genuinely likes what they do. I had a lot of questions and made a few changes to the original package and Anne was so accommodating! It was like working with someone I had known a long time even though we only met in person once. Top notch quality all the way! And the food was AMAZING, people are still telling me how good it was! -

Rana Sent on 07/02/2012We had an amazing experience with R&R catering from the first meeting until the end of the wedding. When we first met with Natalie our event designer she made sure she knew everything about my vision of my wedding and how I wanted the reception to go. We went to a couple tastings that R&R had around the area which I really recommend. These were very helpful because for a minimal cost you got to sample full on courses offered on their menu to choose or rule out food options. At our tasting/design meeting everything we thought of came to light and we got really excited about the reception as we got to see samples of the table design right then and there.
For the wedding; the staff and manager were amazing and we couldn't have been more pleased. Unfortunately we got married on a hot day, but the staff were so attentive and brought us water and other drinks and food while we were taking pictures, they were very diligent. During dinner they were so efficient that I hardly even noticed them putting out the food on the buffet line. Not only this but they also were accommodating to people who couldn't move away to get drinks and would get them the drinks from the bar. All of the staff and manager were very very professional and did a wonderful job. Overall I couldn't have asked for a better reception, and R&R Catering made this happen.
We also want to give kudos to Natalie our event designer that made our visions of how the cocktail hour/ reception would go what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. -

I cannot tell you how many people from the wedding came up to me and told me how wonderful the food was. Anne Portell is such a wonderful person and is very quick and responsive to any questions or concerns that you may have throughout the planning process. I could not recommend them any more highly, they are hands down the best catering company in the NOVA and surrounding areas! -

George Sent on 11/16/2011We worked with Rachael Lincoln for our wedding in DC on October 29th. We chose R&R Catering about 7 months before our wedding, and chose them because of their responsiveness to our inquiries, the good reviews we read about them, and quality of food when we went for the tasting.
Over the next few months as we locked down the menu and catering details, Rachael has been consistently responsive, professional and service-oriented. We had our initial walk-through in DC on the day of the earthquake, and although shaken, she was a trooper and continued the meeting. On the day of our event, she came over and stayed for a few hours to ensure that everything was running smoothly. The event designer does not always do this, but Rachael knew exactly what we wanted, where and when, and having her there was extra insurance that everything would go well.
Overall, we are extremely satisfied and happy with our experience with R&R. The food was delicious (our guests are still raving about it), the service was attentive and professional, and the cleanup job excellent.
Our day-of captain, Norma, was also fabulous. She reacted quickly when we discovered an issue with some missing wine and was also diligent in ensuring that the bridal party had enough food and beverages. She also did a good job keeping us well-informed and well-fed.
For the quality of the menu and service we got, we thought it was a good deal. We did our reception buffet-style. Rachael knew we wanted some Asian food and seafood, so we had sushi and crab cake as part of our appetizers and also incorporated Asian London broil - our guests LOVED the beef. Tender, juicy and cooked perfectly.
We would highly recommend R&R Catering, and especially Rachael and Norma, to anyone. -

We had to act fast as we were running out of time, and we were so happy with how fast everything went (from proposals to tastings). We previously had bad experiences with tastings and even responsivness from other companies. R&R made everything so easy, they put on an excellent (private) tasting, the presentation, taste and price were what we were looking for-we were thrilled to finally find a company who had it all! (We had to not only find a caterer, but someone who could provide chairs, tables etc as our venue had nothing.)
We worked with Dianna Gilbert and her assistant Nicholle, they were very responsive and patient as we made many changes to our contract, and had many questions in general. Dianna was able to provide us an inital diagram for our reception which was spot on to what we wanted.
The food was great the day of, as was the service. We were very happy with our food & beverage experience w/ R&R Catering. -

The People: We worked with Rachael as our Event Designer and Trish was our Wedding Day Supervisor. Both of these women were EXCELLENT. All the staff on the actual day were friendly and did their jobs well. When we asked them to stay an extra hour, everyone was good to go.
The Food: The food was SO GOOD!! Everyone really enjoyed dinner and we barely had any leftovers. I knew that the food was going to be pretty good -- but with a buffet, sometimes the food is iffy -- not so with R&R. Our buffet was wonderful and all our guests told us how much they enjoyed the food. The Steak Au Poivre is really excellent and got the best ratings from our guests.
The Tasting: The tastings are done out of their Springfield headquarters. It was really relaxed and fun. Come hungry; they don't just serve you teeny portions of everything, they serve you a giant portion so you can really see what your guests will be getting. We had a great time at the tasting and enjoyed everything.
Overall Professionalism: We found R&R to be extremely professional and reliable. Everyone showed up on time and did what they said they would do. Early on in the process, there was a mistake in the contract that we had already signed. R&R fixed the mistake on their dime and made sure that we were taken care of.
Great company, great people, great food! We are so glad we hired R&R for our wedding. -

The food was spectacular and they made sure to attend to the bride and groom during the reception as well as pack up any leftovers at the end.

Brittany Sent on 04/09/2010My husband and I recently got married and R&R did an amzing job setting up and working our event! The room turned out AMAZING!!! Dianna Gilbert was our event designer and she bent over backwards to make sure our day went smoothly and flawlessly! If there WERE any problems I had no idea they had occured :)
When it came time for dinner R&R even served my husband and I along with the bridal party so that we could make sure to eat. They also made up a take home doggy bags of food for us after the wedding. So many of my guests came to myself and my husband talking about how awesome the food was. The staff was freindly and very accomidating to all of our guests. Couldn't have asked for anything better!!! -

They truly delivered an amazing wedding for us. We were so pleased with the entire experience! The staff, supervisor, Chef Mike and all of the lovely people who assisted Laura (our event designer) in making our day perfection are heroes! I did not have to worry about a thing and they made us feel pampered and at ease the entire night. I can't wait to have another event with R&R and Laura is the only one I hope to work with again! -

She was very down to earth and responsive. I had a million questions for her and she always had an answer. Natalie made sure all of our needs were accommodated and pulled off a very nice reception and layout....my guests truly enjoyed the experience. R&R did an INCREDIBLE job with the quality and presentation of the food, provided beautiful silk table cloths and napkins for every table we had! Dianna was absolutely fantastic with communication, advise, meetings, ideas, professionalism... just everything! People are still commenting on how great my food was and how it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! And the price is so incredibly affordable and realistic! Christine Sent on 05/31/2009R&R did a great job with our April 4th wedding at Raspberry Plain. Everyone is still talking about the food, the desserts, the champagne, etc. Dianna, who we worked with, was always quick to respond to any e-mails and questions that we had. She was even able to supply us with extra staff to help do a full turnover from ceremony to reception on short notice. On our wedding day there were 60mph wind gusts so we had to have it indoors. The only bad thing was that my new husband and I were so busy talking to our guests and getting our pictures taken that we didn't eat much of the food. What we ate was wonderful and like I said, our guests are still talking about it. Thanks again to all of you at R&R for doing such a great job! =) -

Nikole Sent on 09/29/2008Dianna Gilbert with R&R was a delight to work with! We interviewed with several catering companies and actually decided initially to work with a caterer that our venue had recommended. Unfortunately (or fortunately in the long run) for us this turned out to be a bad decision. When we realized that our initial caterer was not going to work out, we immediately turned to R&R and asked Dianna to quickly put a proposal together.
Dianna went out of her way to meet every aspect of our requests. She set up a private tasting for us and we sampled what we thought would be the menu selection. The tasting and her presentation were wonderful! She worked with us with our linens and china to ensure that the setting we had envisioned was achieved. Her coordination and attention to detail was a definite compliment to our floral designer and the two matched up perfectly!
We felt extremely comfortable in Diannas hands. She responded promptly and with detail to every request and/or change no matter how minor. She worked with us to ensure that all of our food selections were compatible and appropriate for our venue and season.
R&R arrived early the day of our wedding and were busy setting up. Each and every staff member greeted us with courtesy and a big smile. Dianna was on site to make sure that the set up went smoothly and as we had chosen in the planning. The set up appeared flawless and everything was absolutely beautiful!
Our guests were extremely impressed with the level of service and everyone raved about the food. They commented routinely that the quality and the presentation were superb and that the beef tenderloin was perfectly prepared and served to all apparently they had experienced not the same from other caterers and events. I must say that from the very beginning of the meal service to the end it was simply delicious!
At the last minute we added a Martini Luge to the Bar service and Dianna made this happen without any problem! It was a great addition and the guests enjoyed their drink selections!
Dianna and the staff at R&R were definitely the right choice and we have no regrets having gone with them! In fact, we have since referred two new customers to Dianna and wouldnt hesitate doing so!
I forgot to mention that Dianna and R&R provided all of the food for one of my Bridal Showers. Our wedding guests got a pre-treat of what was to come and R&R came through in every way for each occasion!
Thank you Dianna and R&R! We look forward to working with you in the future!
