Bluewater Waterfront Grill Reviews

We got married at Bluewater in the Sunset room with 24 guests. Planning a wedding in 2020 came with unique challenges, however our wedding was everything we dreamed it to be and more thanks to Hayley and the rest of the staff at Bluewater. Hayley did an amazing job coordinating the details despite all of the hurdles brought on by the pandemic. The managers on duty that day, KJ and Scott, were so accommodating and made sure we were able to have everything just the way we wanted it all day/night. The food was incredible. Everyone was talking about the crab dip and shrimp & grits especially. Our servers, Lou and Carson, were perfect! They were attentive, so genuinely nice, and you could see their smiles from behind their masks which meant a lot to us and our guests. We were having so much fun that we just couldn’t leave, so the servers found an extension cord so we could move our speaker to the balcony and continue the celebration. The small things like that made the night perfect and we are so thankful. If anyone is looking for a space for an intimate wedding ceremony and reception, Bluewater is definitely the place to go. I thought the spectacular view is what I would be raving about after our wedding, but the staff were equally spectacular!

We had a post wedding brunch/meet up here. The staff was very helpful assisting us with bar space outside on the deck so our out of town guests could experience the warm fall weather and the waterfront views. The staff were very nice and patient considering it was a large group.
The food was incredible and the drinks were great!

Hands down the best venue to have your wedding in Wilmington. The staff is friendly, professional and patient. They love what they do. Haley and Megan are the best wedding coordinators. I couldn’t have ask for more. The food was cooked to perfection and their servers, bartender were excellent. Not one complaint. If you want a memorable wedding, have it at Bluewater. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you ladies for all your hard work.

We have always loved Bluewater and it was especially awesome to have our wedding reception there. Our guests loved the views and were impressed by the food- we love their crab stuffed salmon! Hayley and Megan were great coordinators and helped the night run smoothly. The only unforseen incident was with a CO2 canister for draught beer but the staff there accommodated us with a gift card after the fact. All in all, we would highly recommend Bluewater as a space to celebrate with friends and family. Beautiful views. Great service. Excellent food.

Everyone at Bluewater was amazing. They made planning so easy, and our wedding day was perfect. Despite the rain, they made our day great, and we are so grateful for all their hard work.

Bluewater Grill was the perfect venue for our son's large rehearsal dinner. The event planners were responsive and helpful with every request. They were a delight to work with. Our dinner was delicious (filet and shrimp) and we had many compliments about the food. My only complaint was that the salad was not as described and the quality was not comparable to the rest of the meal. They were receptive and seemed to appreciate my "critique"! Our friend, who has planned and decorated for many weddings and rehearsal dinners, told me that she had never had a staff clean up, organize, and pack her materials (vases, candles, urns, linens, etc) as thoroughly and carefully as the staff at Bluewater did. The rehearsal dinner was exactly as we had hoped and we give the staff a lot of the credit!

Advice Id give a anyone trying to give a wedding rehersal dinner of 90 family and friends?First of all before stressing or trying to do it yourself call Bluewater Grill and ask for Erin and Krista.These girls know how to make it come together from the beautiful venu to the scrumpus food.They made time to sit down several times during the planning stages and were always available to answer my calls. Bluewater is such a dreamy location on the intracoastal waterway! We had the private room upstairs with a balcony on the water.The food and service were absolutely incredible for our rehearsal dinner. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

We had our rehearsal dinner upstairs at Bluewater and it was wonderful. There were actually 2 other parties going on that night, but they did a great job of making us feel like the only ones. The food and ambiance were great, but was truly stood out was the exceptional service. We didn't have to lift a finger once we arrived; a server was always ready to help and anticipate what we needed. There was a small snafu after we booked our rehearsal dinner - they had accidentally double booked the room we planned to use. They fixed it quickly and flawlessly though and we were so happy with the end result. I would definitely recommend them for an event space.

This was the perfect venue for an indoor reception with a beautiful view. When we initially looked at this venue, we knew it was the one. In addition, they provided all of the food and drinks, which simplified the process even more! The food was OUTSTANDING! And the treatment that we received was top notch. We had our own little private table out on the deck that overlooked the water. This allowed us to actually eat before the reception festivities began. We had our own personal waiters who consistently checked in with us and made sure we had everything we needed. They also offered a "late night snack" which was a variety of small finger foods that guests could munch on later on in the evening after dinner. This menu was developed based off of ideas that we had. They were extremely accommodating and wanted to make sure that we were happy. In addition, we chose a signature drink and it ended up being a big hit with the guests and honestly- I'd love to have the recipe because it was that good! The only negative thing that I can say is that they do have a dance floor that they require you to rent through them. Unfortunately, the dance floor malfunctioned and started coming apart during the reception. It didn't stop our guests from having a good time and they did not charge us for it.

This was PERFECT for our rehearsal dinner! Great food on the water, what more can you ask for? The service was great and everyone loved the food. They don't charge for the room just a minimum in food and beverages. If we had a smaller wedding we definitely would have had the reception here as well :)

We were so pleased with our "Bluewater Experience." Everyone was a delight to work with and demonstrated lots of patience and a willingness to please making my daughter's wedding reception a wonderful event. Our guests raved about how delicious the food was and of the view helped set the stage for a wonderful evening. The chef accommodated our desire to change up our cocktail hour with some Venezuelan appetizers. He did an awesome job!! It is a great place to have a wedding reception and a great group of people to work with.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Bluewater Grill and it was really really great. They upgraded us into a larger room because they had the space and we wanted to have tabled appetizers for our family, and just the level of service in accommodating our group and taking into consideration our space needs was really appreciated. The food was great, and the service was, as well. We did hit a speed bump early in the evening, because the servers had announced a cash bar, while we had been under the impression that it would be a host bar, but we were able to clear that up right away. Since we had booked the location over the phone and e-mail, it may have been just a miscommunication, so I would just be extra clear on the services/bar/food you want. Other than that - it was terrific! You also can't beat the views!

Bluewater Grill is the ideal location for a wedding reception by the water. Not only is the layout amazing, the staff and coordinators are awesome! We could not have envisioned a more perfect reception with more delicious food! Thank you!

Everything was better than I imagined!

Wedding Coordinator CHELSEA DONOVAN was so fun to have my wedding run smoothly. She remembered everything and all the timeline items went off with such success! My wedding was in Illinois but Chelsea traveled to help coordinate my wedding because we are family but she still did an EXCELLENT job!

Bluewater was the perfect place to have our wedding reception. We decided to have a morning wedding with afternoon reception and Bluewater was not only beautiful, but provided delicious food and wonderful service as well. Laci was wonderful to work with and was helpful from planning to orchestrating the day of the wedding. Everything from the crab dip appetizer to the entree's were delicious. With the new renovations, the view of the marina and new bright interior gave all our guests a relaxing and enjoyable experience. They also helped us create a menu that stayed within our budget. Everyone was so friendly and we could not have asked for a more beautiful venue. Many thanks!!

Kristy and the entire Bluewater staff made my reception so special. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect, the venue was beautiful! Kristy worked really well with the wedding coordinators to use some of the pieces from my ceremony at the reception location to spruce it up and make it our own. She was so easy to work with, from menu sampling, to time frame, to alcohol, and more. I could not recommend her and Bluewater more!

Service is awesome. We had an afternoon wedding reception in the South Cafe Room. Service was incredible, and food was fabulous... The entire group raved.... We had a picture perfect reception at a price that was within our budget. They really made our day extra special!

Kristy and her staff at the BlueWater were AMAZING! Kristy really helped out with all the planning and made some great recommendations - she was really easy to work with. On the day of, the entire staff was really helpful - anything we needed (drinks and whatnot) their staff was on top of it. The entire afternoon went so perfectly, I really couldn't thank them enough.

I booked Bluewater Grill for my reception and things ran smoothly until the day of my wedding. They were very responsive when I had questions and when I wanted to change/update my plans. However, plans were discussed with the coordinators that tables and linens would be set up by a certain time. On that day when family/friends got there to finish decorating, things were not setup and no one was around to help. Family/friends had to dig through the restaurant closets to find the table linens and put them on the tables themselves. Staff eventually got there over an hour after everything was suppose to be setup. Time is extremely valuable on the day of your wedding so this was a huge let down. If I didn't have my family and friends there to setup, things definitely would not have been setup in time when my guests arrived. That being said, the food and servers were great during the reception. So if your considering the Bluewater Grill for your venue make sure you go over setup details and verify times. You may also want to hire a wedding coordinator of your own in case things do not go as planned the day of.
