Abbey at Blissful Events by Abbey is truly exceptional. When I first got engaged, I was convinced I didn’t need or want a wedding planner – I wanted to handle everything on my own. I am SO glad I listened to the advice to hire one, especially living out of town from where our wedding was held, because our day would not have been what it was without Abbey.
We booked Abbey for her full-service planning, and it was the BEST wedding decision I made. She truly became a friend throughout the process and made everything so seamless and as stress-free as possible. Abbey pours her heart into each of her weddings, making them all so unique and perfectly tailored to the couple. I was all over the board with my ideas and the vibe I wanted for our late October wedding, and she walked through every detail with me to make one cohesive, beautiful vision. She is incredibly knowledgeable, honest when I asked for her opinion, and attentive to EVERY detail. Truly, no detail is too small for Abbey. I trusted her completely, and she absolutely delivered!
Like any wedding, we ran into a couple hiccups with some vendors along the way, and Abbey was right there every time. She stepped in when necessary to ensure everything went smoothly. I was overwhelmed the day before about certain things, and even on the day of when the weather wasn’t cooperating. Abbey was the person I confided in, and she instantly put me at ease. She was not just a wedding planner, but also the person I turned to when things felt overwhelming at times. I fully trusted Abbey to make game-time decisions, including created the most stunning indoor reception set-up due to weather just hours before our reception was supposed to start.
If you want a wedding that feels effortless, a vision that comes to life in the most thoughtful and unique way, and a planner you can turn to for anything – ABBEY IS THE ONE! She is absolutely incredible at her job, and she is an even better person and friend. Hiring her is hands-down the best wedding decision you will make!!! -

Working with Blissful Events was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Abbey is amazing, and she made us feel supported, understood our vision, and had us excited about our wedding from the very first meeting. She made it possible for us to enjoy all the fun parts of wedding planning without taking on any of the stress. She was with us during every step of the process, and she executed our wedding day plan with efficiency and grace which allowed us to truly enjoy our day!
You can select your own vendors, but she has great recommendations, and her relationships with these vendors made the entire process feel seamless and stress-free. Everyone we worked with spoke so highly of her, and it’s easy to see why! She’s organized, professional, and truly respected in the industry.
What I loved most is that she’s real. She's honest, practical, and always willing to give straightforward answers when we had questions or needed to make tough decisions. Plus, she’s just such a fun, positive person to be around - the kind of energy every couple needs during wedding planning!
We’re so grateful for Abbey and can’t recommend her enough. Our day was everything we dreamed of (and more), and we have Abbey to thank for that! -

Peace of Mind for our wedding!
One of the best decisions we made for our wedding was hiring Abbi as our wedding planner! We booked her for her full planning services, we are quite indecisive and with all the big ideas we had she helped us to narrow our focus. She was with us every step of the way, was very responsive via email and text, helping to answer any and all questions we had. We met with her multiple times, as well as a few last minute meetings when we had questions or ideas we wanted to discuss in person. She did an amazing job at giving us multiple options as well as price points to keep us on budget. Everything was laid out in amazing detail for us to get a vision of our space and allow you to see where your money is going, which makes it easier to determine if anything needs to be cut for your budget. She is organized and detailed and extremely creative in her ideas, anything we thought up, she made work or had an idea that was even better. Our wedding involved multiple locations, multiple happy hours and some out of the box ideas and she helped everything to flow seamlessly. The day went perfectly, any potential hiccup we never knew about and she did an amazing job at keeping everyone on task and on time. The communication with our vendors alone, was a huge help in the days and months leading up to our wedding. All communication with vendors went through Abbi, and we trusted her completely with that task which took so much stress away from us. Our parents and wedding party as well as vendors who had not worked with her before, were also very impressed and thankful for her help. We absolutely loved our room reveal, one of two times the groom teared up, and were blown away at seeing all of our months of planning come to life. Having a wedding week that was spent celebrating vs stressing over decorations, set up and logistics is something we are so thankful for. It gave us extra time with friends and family who were in town for the wedding. With each wedding budgets can be one of the biggest stressors, however, the cost of her services was well worth the peace of mind for the wedding as well as every day leading up to the big day! She gave us the most perfect day, and brought all of our wedding dreams to life! -

Abbey was an absolute dream to work with. Easily the BEST thing we could have done for our wedding was to hire Blissful Events. Abbey has a checklist for every month before the wedding…that was a LIFESAVER for someone with zero wedding planning experience (me) who was stressed I would forget or not think of something important. She is incredibly talented, always available for questions, and creates a 100% unique design for each couple. I gave her a couple inspiration pictures and she totally ran with it. Our wedding was BEAUTIFUL. Even more, Abbey is the sweetest person and truly cares about not only your wedding, but you two as a couple. She knows the best vendors to work with and is clearly a pro. We didn’t have to lift a finger on our wedding day, which I didn’t realize the difference that would make until the big day. If something went wrong, we never knew about it. We had the most perfect day you could imagine. If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to work with Abbey and I could not recommend Blissful Events more. I had her biggest package and it was worth every single penny. Thank you so much Abbey for giving us our dream wedding!! -

The absolute best at what she does!!
From our first meeting with Abbey until the big day, she made us feel so comfortable and taken care of! She truly is the best at what she does and has the best team!! Our wedding planning felt like a breeze with all of Abbey's assistance, not to mention the week of - I had nothing to worry about because Abbey was on top of it! We were absolutely in love with the final design and how everything turned out. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Abbey and cannot thank her enough for our perfect day!! -

Stunning room decor
Abbey was amazing to work with in planning what my ceremony/reception room would look like. The final result was more beautiful than anything I could have ever imagined! Abbeys super easy to talk to and work with. The first thing I have to say is WOW!!! We knew Abbey would do a great job in planning our daughter's wedding and she absolutely nailed it - truly turned Sarah + Chance's wedding vision into a dream come true! From our initial meeting, the entire design and planning process, the few weeks leading up to, and ultimately our big day... she was always organized, on top of the major and minor details, and truly made the entire planning process feel seamless! When we walked into the reception space, I was immediately taken back with tears of joy. It was stunning and absolutely PERFECT! She exceeded our expectations in every way possible. She kept us at ease through the entire process of planning and made us feel like she always had everything handled. Every detail was perfectly in place and we never had to worry about a single thing! They had the best group of vendors to work with & she made sure everyone was on the same page to bring their vision to life! When I was planning my wedding, I was trying to do everything on my own to save money. Abbey had been recommended to me by a patient/friend and I had known of her business through old high school friends. I didn't think I could afford a wedding planner, so I never really bothered to look, but what I love about Blissful Events is she has different plans to meet your needs, from full service planning to just some extra planning help! I decided to go with her day of services, and even though she was already booked for another wedding that day, she recruited her best friend to be my day of coordinator, and she was amazing! They both went out of their way to make sure my day was perfect. Would 100% recommend Blissful Events to everyone! -

Nothing short of amazing!!
Abbey was absolutely amazing from the first day we met! I showed her my Pinterest board that was half complete of what we thought we wanted and she made our fairytale wedding a reality. Hands-down the best decision we made during our wedding planning process was when we decided to work with Abbey! She truly helped us so much throughout the entire planning process and helped alleviate our stress along the way! She helped us design the wedding of our dreams and then made sure it happened exactly as we had pictured! Her vendor recommendations were absolute perfection, and we didn’t have to lift a finger throughout the entire wedding!!! Our Perfect Day
When our original wedding planner cancelled 4 months before our wedding, I was STRESSED! I contacted Abbey to see if she was available for our date and explained the situation. She responded within a couple hours and immediately took the stress away! From day one she listened to our ideas, answered any and all questions that we had, recommended other amazing vendors, worked so well with our vendors, AND put up with my forgetful bride brain! :) She brought our dream day to life and it turned out to be even better than what we had envisioned. We are still getting compliments on how beautiful our wedding was and we owe all of the credit to her. Abbey is one of the sweetest girls I know and you will not be disappointed in her work. It was worth every penny! -

The BEST wedding planner!
Abby made my wedding stress free, plain and simple. I had not a worry on my wedding day as I knew she would be there and get the job done. If she ran into a problem, she would handle it and not even stress you with the issue. I told her exactly what I wanted in florals, decor, linens, etc and she made it come to life. I provided her with bad drawings of designs I wanted and she some how made it happen lol. Weddings are expensive, I wanted to keep my budget in mind without sacrificing things I wanted for my big day. Abby worked around my budget and still got everything I wanted. I recommend Blissful Events to every bride I know. I never felt that I was bothering her with My questions! Our wedding day was exactly how we hoped it would be. If your on the fence of who to use, just meet with Abby! -The Wahls -

I can’t recommend Abbey enough! She was so easy to work with. I used the Month Of Coordinating Package. For the last month before the wedding she contacted all my vendors to confirm timelines which took a huge tasked off of me. She also provided suggestions, feedback & reviewed everything I already accomplished. She suggested renting napkins, which she was able to get me for a great price and they made a HUGE difference in the tables, adding a pop of color! She made the wedding day stress free knowing that she had every little thing that came up under control & I didn’t have to worry about anything. All I had to do was get ready & enjoy the day! She even handled little things like keeping track of my cell phone & emergency kit while doing all the big things too like last minute set up between the wedding & reception, getting vendors set up in the right place, etc. She provided 2 timelines for the day, one master timeline & one just for the wedding party. These were super helpful to have everyone know what was happening when & I was able to pass them out to everyone a few days before. She also has a great list of vendors she recommends.
Abbey was very professional, organized and just made our day better with her sweet personality. I highly recommend brides hire her to ensure you day goes smoothly. We can’t thank her enough!

My daughter's wedding
We hired Abbey with Blissful Events as our month of wedding planner and she was amazing! She not only made sure my daughter's vision came to life but she went above and beyond to make sure that everything happened on time, and smoothly! Any bumps throughout the day were handled quickly and with such care. the day was perfect in every way and Abbey played a huge part ! We hired Abbey to help with our wedding and she was so amazing from the moment we met her. She is extremely organized, detail oriented, professional, fun and handled every stressful situation perfectly. For example, I had a combination of food trucks and a caterer for dinner. One of the food trucks had to back out the night before the wedding- can you imagine? I was only informed when I needed to be, and she played a major role in finding another delicious food truck as a replacement. Crisis averted with minimal stress to me, I am so thankful for that. We put her to work the day of the wedding, with a long list of things we needed her to do. Everything went so smoothly because she was so prepared. I had a very specific vision and she was just as excited as I was about seeing it all come together. She went out of her way to pick up some vintage pieces that I rented after I ran into some complications. Any issues that came up during the wedding day, she handled with such professionalism and care. I cannot thank her enough for this and highly recommend hiring her for your event. With Abbey, you will feel confident knowing that everything will be taken care of. We loved her and can’t thank her enough! -

Abbey worked tirelessly to ensure April 13, 2019 was our best day ever. Even from the day we met, she radiated overwhelming excitement to make our day flawless. She gave constant reminders and check ups, to ensure we were hitting our deadlines. She consistently followed up with every crazy demand or request I made. She also knew what would perfectly pair on tables, flowers, and even color schemes. Best Planner EVER!!!
Abbey is an absolute MUST when it comes to planning your wedding or event! Not only does she keep you sane and listen to every (and I mean EVERY) request you have, but she makes your dream become a reality. Her attention to detail and creativity is out of this world. I would like to think I wasn’t a complete bridezilla ;) but I know at times I was definitely not the easiest to work with. However, Abbey made sure to answer every single email, text, call, etc no matter what time or day it was, with always the response that made me feel so much better and at ease. I would like to think she is also a therapist at times haha! Abbey’s organizational skills are also top notch. For my wedding, she first started with a layout of the space. Once we chose that, she then created a packet with all the details, prices, pictures of rentals and ideas, and explanations of our wedding so we could see exactly what we were going to do but also spend! She works with you on your budget too! I was so interested to see how what I saw online/on paper would turn out in person, and I can honestly say it was so much more than I could have ever imagined. One of my favorite things she did was a big reveal of our spaces. So, no one could see the space until we saw it first, completely finished. It was so special! Another big thing to mention is I got married in Cedar Rapids, IA, but Abbey is from the Quad Cities. I was concerned at first how it would all work with but let me tell you, she made sure to come to where we needed her, whenever we needed her. You would have never known she didn’t live out of town! Abbey take all the time and stress away that comes from setting up and tearing down, too! I could go on and on, and on again, about how amazing my experience with Abbey was but not only was she my wedding planner, but she has turned into someone that I am lucky enough to call a friend. She is so so sweet but also very direct when she needs to be. Like I said before, she is a must for planning any event!!! -

Words cannot explain how amazing of a job Abbey did with our wedding on July 27, 2019. She is absolutely incredible. She put together the wedding of our DREAMS and literally nailed every single little detail we asked for. Not only did she do all of this, but she did it with such grace! Abbey has such a calming presence and "can-do" attitude and it is so refreshing and definitely two attributes of a phenomenal wedding designer and planner! Not only was working with her up until the big day an awesome experience, but the way she handled everything on the actual day of could not have been better! We had ZERO and i mean ZERO issues on the day of because of how well she organized and planned!! I would recommend Abbey DePauw to absolutely anyone, trust me you will be BEYOND delighted with the experience of working with her! -

Abbey was terrific from start to finish. She is easy to work with, super creative, and unflappable. She helped us with a timeline starting many months out and gave us more and more guidance as the big day approached. The day of the wedding, I didn't worry about a single thing. The venue was Old Brick Iowa City and everything had to be brought in. Coordinating that was complicated and Abbey really made the difference. Her design was beautiful and the flowers were amazing. Everything went so smoothly and I had many compliments from the vendors and guests. Best of all, my daughter said her wedding was everything she had dreamed of and more. Thank you Abbey! -

Blissful Events
We met Abbey in a roundabout kind of way. She was just starting her business and we were just told our original wedding planner was no longer going to be in business. We were one of the first couples to sign on with Blissful Events and we were excited to have a young professional helping us plan our dream day. Although Abbey was just starting out, she was always very organized and responsive to all of our emails, calls, and texts. She offered to meet with us and vendors and even reached out to vendors that she had used previously to help us out. We got married November 2, 2019 at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf, Iowa. We changed wedding venues about three months before our wedding due to some unforeseen circumstances. Abbey never once was worried or stressed us out that we had switched venues. She was actually very excited because she had planned many events at this venue and knew the layout. She took on the task of making sure that our day and new design of the venue was perfect. She used her online tools to show us what she visually meant which really helped us see what she was talking about and helped our vision to come together. She took our "wants" and input and altered the designs accordingly. She sent emails monthly for a checklist to keep all of us on track of what we needed to do and have done. Abbey always made time for us to have meetings and phone calls and never made me feel like I was a burden for asking so many questions. Although Abbey is just starting out and learning a lot from every wedding she plans, she has an original perspective on wedding planning and thinks of the little details that would otherwise be overlooked. We were very appreciative of Abbey (and her mom who helped the day of the wedding) and her hard work throughout the entire wedding planning process. It is not an easy job dealing with the bride & groom along with their families and Abbey was always professional and honest. That was all we could have hoped for. Her business is growing and we cannot wait to see what other amazing weddings she continues to plan. -
