Best Wedding Caterer in Rhode Island!

You can't do better than Blackstone for your wedding!
Blackstone Caterers, and Danielle Costa impressed us from the very beginning. I knew of Blackstone because many weddings our family has been to, used Blackstone. But, of course there are other caterers that are well known - the two premiere caterers in Rhode Island for weddings appear to be Russel Morin and Blackstone. We got quotes from Russell Morin, Blackstone, and Emerys Catering. Let me explain why we went with Blackstone, and why I am so glad I did:

First Meeting: At the Newport Bridal Show in Winter 2020, many wedding vendors had booths. But Blackstone just nailed their "booth". They had this beautiful set up, no detail forgotten, with champagne glasses and very friendly, professional and informative employees. I was impressed.

Contract & Communication: Of all quotes I received, the value of Blackstone was the best. The food selections were the best. They even did a champagne toast and cake cutting! And they were always prompt in communication, which is very important to me.

Tasting: Staff was professional, food was phenomenal, presentation was top notch. And they of course offered us as much wine as we desired! It was a wonderful experience! And they use PEAK event services for linens, etc - and made the selection process so easy!

Wedding: Again... nailed it! We got married at The Towers in Narragansett, and didn't have a wedding planner. I wasn't sure if I needed to worry about one, but it was fine! Blackstone took care of everything. We dropped off our table signs & name cards in the venue, and they set everything up! They cooked onsight, and executed everything flawlessy. They probably could have done it with their eyes closed, they are that good. A member of the Waitstaff introduced themselves to us and kept checking on us to if we needed a drink. When we went outside to take photos, they came outside to bring us water! And Danielle showed up to make sure everything was ok. We just so impressed with their professionalism and hospitality. And guests have told us it was the best food they had a wedding ever.

Wedding review

The food was amazing, we got positive reviews from everyone including my grandma who is always very hard to please! The cocktail hr, dinner and deserts were all perfect. It’s definitely worth the splurge. Their presentation is also beautiful. The only thing I will say is the dinner service was a little slow/behind schedule but there could have been a lack of communication on our end.

Blackstone is the only way to go!

Blackstone absolutely knocked it out of the park! Gina was the kindest and most helpful person to work with. We loved her!! Everything from our very first quote, all the way to the team’s execution day of the wedding, they are amazing! The food was so delicious, the presentation was beautiful. The entire staff at the wedding was so polite, professional, and accommodating. Thank you to their entire team for making our day so special!

Outstanding Food, Even Better Service

My wedding was for about 100 people in Newport, RI.

Blackstone Caterers came highly recommended, and after our first tasting, I could see the rave reviews were onto something. Planning the menu with Danielle was easy. Dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and cost considerations were easily discussed and solutions were always around the corner. The professionalism and flexibility of the team we worked with were the cherry on top of the dishes we sampled, which were all well-portioned, well-seasoned, and well-presented. When we offered feedback at the tasting, it was gracefully accepted and incorporated into the final menu present at our wedding. The food at the cocktail hour and reception dinner was as outstanding as we had encountered at the tasting (my guests informed me that they've never had a better steak at a wedding than the one we served), but what made Blackstone truly shine was their service. Dozens of my guests made a comment about how the service at our cocktail hour and reception was simply stunning. Everyone we interacted with was attentive and warm, from the bartenders to the two individuals assigned to us (bride and groom). I wish I could remember their names because they were so kind and made sure my wife and I wanted for nothing. Their assistance with our signature cocktails was also much appreciated. To think that all of this was pretty affordable for a wedding is simply mind blowing.

Food is one of the most critical elements of a good wedding. If you want to get your dishes spot on, with service your guests will never forget, bet on Blackstone.

July 2023 Wedding

We worked with Blackstone for the catering for our July 2023 wedding at Shepherd’s Run (South Kingstown, RI). The event specialists I worked with were Rowan and Jackie, and the office manager was Erica. Everyone we worked with went above and beyond to make sure every detail of our event was perfect! Starting 18 months before our wedding, Jackie took time to explain Shepherd’s Run preferred vendors, and gave great hotel, transportation, and after party location suggestions. As we got closer to our wedding date, Rowan helped us pick out a perfect menu to fit our budget and taste preferences. She worked beside my planner to help make sure the flow of the wedding night went exactly to our plan.
The food we served at cocktail hour, reception, and dessert was so delicious! During cocktail hour we had goat cheese, fig, and caramelized onion tart with aged balsamic; feta and watermelon skewers, house-cured salmon gravlax and cucumber canape, lobster salad on a petite bun, and the cheese and crudité display. During our reception we had the mache and arugula salad, herb grilled filet mignon, Murray’s Farm Statler Chicken, and roasted eggplant ravioli. For dessert Blackstone plated our cake and served mini cannoli, strawberry shortcake, and coffee milkshakes. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the staff was so attentive to our guests. They made sure to double check with guests who had dietary restrictions. There were so many subtle details that made the service special - for example, having a personal tray of passed hors d'oeuvres at our head table, and serving cake to our guest tables that alternated the 2 cake options, so each couple could get a taste of both options.

Blackstone Creates an Unmatched Experience

Working with Blackstone was a dream! My family, and now I, have used Blackstone for six weddings over the course of the last 20 years. The quality of their food and service is unmatched.

Specifically, Gina Calcagni has the ability to create a uniquely individualized experience for each of her clients. She meets each client where they’re at and works to understand their needs, vision, priorities, and concerns. No question was ever too small or too frequent. Her talents stretch well beyond coordinating the event catering experience. She is detail oriented, guiding the flow of the event, understands and anticipated dynamics that may contribute to its success, and is ready to pivot should there be a need. Gina is incredibly kind and talented.

My husband and I are so thrilled with every step of our experience with Blackstone. The impact they had on the overall experience of our wedding was noticeable– it would not have been as wonderful without this team.

Wonderful!

We used Blackstone Caterers for my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding in August. They were amazing and did a great job! We worked with Danielle throughout the whole process and she was such a pleasure to work with. She was always very helpful and was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. Everything was delicious and the staff was all very attentive. We really enjoyed our tasting which was a great way to sample all the hors d'oeuvres and entrees we had picked out for the wedding. While everything generally went very well on the wedding day, there was a small hiccup with the private cocktail hour we were supposed to have for everyone taking photos with the photographer. Only one waitress came by with one tray of hors d'oeuvres, and we were never offered any drinks or other food. Despite this though, it was a wonderful evening and everyone really enjoyed all the food!

Wedding - 5/14/23

I had my wedding at Shepherds Run last weekend with Blackstone Caterers. Shepherd’s Run and Blackstone Caterers are the dream partnership. Upon my first meeting with Jackie, she sold me on the venue and the caterers. The food is delicious and there are so many options to choose from to customize your event. The entire process with Jackie and Rowan was incredibly smooth. I was able to enjoy the wedding day and the months leading up to the event because of these two. They coordinated everything for day off and guided me through the flow of the day. They even reached out to outside vendors to make sure deliveries were made on time. I can’t thank them enough!!! Not only are they pros but they are so kind and make the process such a treat. I can say without a doubt that I made the right choice in choosing shepherds run and blackstone caterers for my wedding.

Blackstone Caterers are TOP NOTCH!

Karen, Jackie and the entire Blackstone Caterers team are an absolute please to work with. From the moment we met Karen, we felt an instant connection and you can just tell she just gets it and has a lot of experience in the wedding catering industry. We had our wedding at Shepherd’s Run in April 2022 which Blackstone Caterers is the exclusive caterer for. We were blown away by the variety of options Blackstone Caterers offers. We were sent the different food and drink packages and were able to choose which dishes we loved. The planning was a breeze and they can design all sorts of menus to meet your wedding day wishes. What really impressed us was the tasting event we had at Shepherd’s Run a few months before our wedding and it was amazing to taste all of the food Blackstone offers from the hors d'oeuvres, crudite table, raw bar, salads, main entrees, desserts… all were delicious and our wedding guests thought the same! The Perfect Wedding Caterer

We worked with Blackstone for our wedding in November, and we can't recommend them enough. Shannon was so wonderful to work with and helped us create the perfect menu, and Danielle was organized and helped our day run smoothly. The food was absolutely incredible and our guests are still talking about. They put so much care into every aspect of the process! If you're looking for a caterer, Blackstone will exceed all of your expectations.

Dreaming of Lobster Creme Brulee

From start to finish, Blackstone was our absolute favorite vendor to work with while planning our wedding. Their customer service was out of this world, especially the communication from Shannon Driscoll! I don’t think we ever heard the term ‘no’ when it came to asking questions or requesting something that wasn’t already provided (if you’ve planned a wedding recently, you’ll know that’s not usually the case). Shannon bent over backwards for us, helping us create a menu with lots of gluten free options (the bride has Celiac). She even helped us create the most bizarre rubber duck signature cocktail (the groom has a strange affinity for rubber ducks). Shannon went above and beyond to make our day amazing. There wasn’t a moment in the year and a half of planning where we questioned our decision of hiring Blackstone. We say all of this, and we haven’t even gotten to the food yet. Everything they curated on their menu was delicious, but I have three very important words for you - LOBSTER. CREME. BRULEE. If you only take one thing away from this review, let it be the lobster creme brûlée hors d'œuvre. Our guests still text us photos of those little spoonfuls of heaven. The menu tasting was by far the best day of wedding planning - Blackstone provided both gluten free and non gluten free options of almost all of their dishes for us to try. They truly went above and beyond in all aspects of our experience.

An Incredible Experience!

We can’t say enough amazing things about Blackstone! Everyone we talked to upon getting engaged, suggested working with them and this was validated throughout the entire process.

Danielle was incredible from day 1, always super organized and buttoned up to keep us on track and make sure we had an incredible day.

They ensured us on wedding day that everything would be taken care of and this was absolutely the case. Of course all the big things (e.g. appetizers, bar, entrees, etc.) but they also provided so many small touches (e.g. ensuring we always had a drink, left a plate of appetizers at our desk, etc.) that really made the day extra special. Their on-side staff was also amazing and this was echoed from so many of our guests.

Great quality, execution and service!!!

We recently used Blackstone Caterers for our wedding in August 2022 and highly recommend! Danielle Costa was amazing to work with and helped us with every step of the planning process. Not only is she extremely nice, but she was very organized, helpful and very responsive whenever we sent her an email. We were able to customize the entire package to make sure it was just what we wanted. During our reception the guests had such amazing things to say about Blackstone and could not stop raving about how amazing the food was! The cocktail stations were always fully stocked, the passed hors d'oeuvres were constantly flowing, the bar was moving at a quick pace and the dinner was served promptly and was incredible. You always worry that the food will not be as good as the tasting, but Blackstone surpassed our expectations as the food remained incredible the day of the wedding. From planning to execution to taste, Blackstone did an absolutely amazing job and we highly recommend and thank them for making our wedding day absolutely perfect.

Blackstone is literally the best

Blackstone is literally the BEST caterer you can find for your wedding. We used them on July 23rd for our wedding at the Rosecliff and we are still getting comments about how amazing the food was. Delicious & Easy to Work With!

We had Blackstone cater our July 2022 wedding at Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, RI. We LOVED working with them. Danielle, the main contact for us, was flexible, knowledgeable and so nice. The tasting felt so fancy and fun. We felt special and it made us super excited to have more of the food on our wedding day. Everything tasted amazing and we got so many compliments. They were so willing to tweak things to make the menu exactly what we wanted. The staff working on the day were some of the friendliest, warmest people we have met. Our personal waitress, Avery, was so sweet and really wanted us to have the best day. I am gluten-free and she made sure I ate everything on the menu that I could. We also never went a second without our favorite drinks in our hands. People have not stopped talking about the beautiful cheese board and delicious dessert stations. Highly recommend!

Such Elegant Service!

Blackstone Caterers is such a fantastic caterer company! You have to book them!

We are from New York and had our wedding in Rhode Island. We knew we made the right choice when we booked Blackstone Caterers! Their tasting experience was very special to us and private. It was our first and only tasting and they just made us feel so important and welcomed.

We worked with them for a long time because our wedding needed to be postponed due to Covid.

Blackstone Caterers is elegant, classy, professional, organized, generous and very accommodating! Their food is of high quality and absolutely delicious! Our guests still cannot get over how kind every worker was and how delicious their food was!

Working with Shannon and Gina was a pleasure! They helped us so much with our planning. They were very accommodating to our needs such as making adjustments to dishes for allergies. They even allowed us to bring up our favorite wine and cookies to share with our guests. I provided them with an itemized list of things that needed to be set up such as place cards, pictures, signs, and guest -give aways. They set up everything perfectly! They exceeded our expectations with everything! They even packed up our belongings with care! They even respected our no social media request.

Gina and Laura were there the day of to make sure everything ran smoothly. Thank you so much for being so helpful and for making this day a dream come true! We would also like to thank Tristan who took such good care of me and my husband. He is so professional, respectful and helpful! He made sure that he provided us with everything we needed!

Everyone that is part of Blackstone Caterers is amazing! You won’t regret booking them! Please keep them in mind when you plan on having an event!

Excellent - worth every penny!

Like lots of couples, we prioritized catering as a bigger-spend item in our budget. Blackstone truly delivered - Danielle helped walk us through every tiny detail of planning the catering, including some money-saving tips on crafting our food and bar packages. During two years of Covid postponements, she was highly responsive and flexible as we considered changes in our plans. Danielle said yes to all of our special requests, including supplementing the catered items with some homemade hors d'oeuvres and desserts, which the Blackstone team incorporated in a polished and elegant way. On the day, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully executed. Having a personal attendant looking after us was also a huge plus!!

Delicious food, excellent service!

We worked with Danielle at Blackstone for our May 21 wedding at Glen Manor House and were extremely happy with our experience. We received quotes from three caterers that were recommended by the venue, and decided on Blackstone because Danielle respected our budget, the food choices sounded *amazing*, and we felt their presentation aesthetic was best aligned with our vision. Through several planning meetings, Danielle was kind, helpful, and transparent. She was fantastic to work with! The tasting was also a terrific experience - all of the food was excellent. It was also very easy to pick out linens etc during the tasting, and we felt like we had a really nice range of options to choose from. At our wedding, the service was fantastic: all the servers were extremely professional and the food was delicious. All of our guests were very impressed. My husband and I especially appreciated the special attention we received from the servers: they put plates of the hors d'oeuvres and desserts at our seats to make sure we had a chance to try everything, and always made sure to ask if we needed anything (water, champagne, whatever!). We were really impressed with the whole experience and would definitely recommend Blackstone to other RI couples.

Absolutely amazing caterer

Blackstone and Jackie were absolutely amazing! From start to finish blackstone was there to answer any questions we had. The food and service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We had some pretty picky guests and they all raved about their meals. From the hors d’oeuvres to the plated dinner to the passed ice cream cones for dessert. Blackstone went above and beyond our expectations. If you are having a wedding in the area. 110% recommend using them.

Blackstone Caterers For Your Wedding Day

We used Blackstone Caterers on our wedding day in August 2021 and they are an absolute 10/10. During unprecedented times when we had to postpone our wedding 1 year, they were extremely communicative, professional, and reliable. Rescheduling couldn’t have been easier. Karen in particular is amazing to work with. She is so hands on and makes it look so easy. From start to finish she made us feel at ease that our day would be perfect, and it was! The FOOD is delicious, and we were lucky enough to be able to try everything due to their hands on/attentive staff. They make sure you don't miss a beat and just enjoy on your special day. When you visit for your tasting you truly get to see how much they love their jobs because they make it so fun. They work with you on décor and menu choices - they have so many options to customize your day to be perfect for you,. I promise you will not be disappointed.

We Love Blackstone!

Blackstone Caterers were the absolute best. Wedding planning during COVID was a stressful process! We had many guest list changes - even some just a couple weeks before the wedding - and Blackstone could not have been more kind, accommodating, and flexible. We specifically worked with Danielle, who was truly wonderful. The day of the wedding, the Blackstone team was INCREDIBLE. They went above and beyond to make sure that my husband and I had everything we needed. They even helped me bustle my gown when we had some technical issues with the process! The table settings looked absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. We will forever be grateful that we had the opportunity to work with this amazing catering company, and we cannot recommend them highly enough.

Blackstone is a must!

We got married at Shepherd's Run on 9/17/21, Blackstone is the exclusive caterer for the venue. We met Karen back in December 2020 when we started to re-plan our wedding and she was a dream to work with from the start. Jackie then joined the team soon thereafter and was a great addition. We worked on the initial details, went through our tasting menu, linens, colors, etc. Blackstone was easy to work with and accomodating with all types of dietary preferences/restrictions and special requests.

The hors d'oeuvres were spectacular, our signature cocktail was a hit and the main courses were absolutely mouth-watering. The staff and bartenders were attentive and professional. The night ended with a cannoli station which was gone before you knew it; our only regret was not getting enough!

You cannot go wrong with hiring Blackstone for your catering needs.

Excellent - so incredible!

We worked with Shannon at Blackstone and they were so professional and responsive. The food was incredible - so good that some of our guests are still reaching out to us a month later letting us know how amazing the food was. We had various appetizer stations, Halibut, Filet, and Ravioli for Entrees and an incredible dessert bar. Couldn't recommend Blackstone anymore. We are so thrilled to have shared our special day at Rosecliff with Blackstone.

BOOK NOW!!! Covid Wedding - best vendor we worked with!

Danielle and the team at Blackstone Caterers were AMAZING to work with!!! I cannot recommend them enough. We were originally supposed to get married in July 2020 at the Rosecliff, postponed our wedding multiple times due to Covid and ended up doing a celebration with friends this past month on a boat in Boston. We worked with Danielle throughout the 2+ year timeline of trying to make something work and we couldn't have felt luckier to work with someone so supportive, patient, kind and communicative. There's no doubt the catering industry was hit hard during Covid, I've heard horror stories from other brides and I can't express how grateful I am to have selected such an amazing/understanding vendor. Danielle even came in on her day off to make sure we had everything we needed for our event. She went above and beyond and I can't thank her and the Blackstone team enough for bringing an unfortunate series of postponed events to one of the best days/meals of our lives!

Amazing Experience with Blackstone

Karen and her team at Blackstone Caterers were absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. When my now-husband was activated for a military deployment amidst the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020, we reached out to Karen to see what we could do. She graciously honored our existing contract for a new date in 2021. I was one of the lucky brides whose new wedding date coincided with Hurricane Henri making landfall in New England. Karen and I were in constant communication throughout the wedding weekend as we watched the forecast together. Since I did not have a wedding planner, she coordinated with my venue directly to ensure we were all on the same page with possible contingency plans. I had so many cancellations the day of the event from guests who were hesitant about the weather. Karen was patient through all of the last minute changes. Ultimately, we were able to move forward with hosting our reception as scheduled that night and the food was exceptional. The quality of the ingredients and the level of sophistication really impressed all of the guests. I highly recommend Blackstone for your wedding!

Incredible Food!!

Blackstone Caterers was incredible. The food was second to none and all of our guests commented on how great it was. Shannon and her team was fabulous from our first tasting through the reception. I had been to a few other tastings and they were more expensive and not nearly as good as Blackstone. The service was white glove and there was not a minute that I worried the food would not be fabulous!

Where do I begin? From the tasting, to the planning, to the execution - our wedding food was most important to us, which is why we trusted Blackstone to deliver. We worked with Shannon as our coordinator - she was so attentive, detailed, and responsive. She let us do whatever we asked for in one way or another, working with us to make sure every detail was perfect and reflected our vision.

On our wedding day, all of our expectations were exceeded. The food was the talk of the wedding. We loved the presentation and plating at cocktail hour and dinner. The servers were professional and our personal bridal liaison made sure the bride and groom never had to lift a finger. If you are looking for gourmet, exquisite, not your typical "wedding food" - Blackstone is the place to go.

Great catering company

Blackstone Catering has partnered with Shepherd’s Run in South Kingstown. Our daughter was married on 8/13 and it was amazing. The food was awesome and the waitstaff was friendly and professional. Jackie is the on-site planner and event coordinator. She is organized, responsive, fun to work with and will make certain that every detail is taken care of. Blackstone was a pleasure to work with and made every effort to ensure that the wedding perfect. I highly recommend this catering company, they are a top notch team !

Absolutely Amazing

Our experience with Shepherd’s Run could not have been better. When we first went to look at the venue it was completely under construction but we decided to take a chance because we just had a feeling about the space, the people working there and the vision behind it. We had planned and cancelled our wedding twice already (at other venues) due to covid so we were pretty burnt out on planning. Jackie made the entire planning experience a dream. She was so organized and on top of every tiny detail we really didn’t have to worry at all. She provided documents that were so helpful and thorough so we could plan and layout the ceremony procession, the decoration details, and keep the vendors organized. Jackie was always a phone call or a text away for any random question we had. She also contacted and organized all the vendors for me and even showed them around the property so they would know exactly what to expect on the day. Speaking of the day, Jackie was the contact person and organizer so I didn’t have to talk to anyone or make any decisions… it was amazing!!!

We stayed in the bridal suite from Thursday- Sunday and got ready in there with the bridesmaids on our wedding day. Susan, Ryan, Amy and Wayne (and more) made sure we had everything we needed the entire time. The room is huge and very comfortable. We didn’t think we would sleep well the night before our wedding because we were so excited but the bed was sooo cozy we had a fantastic sleep!! There are actually two rooms, two bathrooms, and essentially a little living room with a fridge- it was the perfect place to get ready. It also has a gorgeous tub and balcony to sit out on. Susan greeted us in the morning with freshly baked croissants from a local bakery, delicious coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt and freshly infused water. She also brought up Shepherd’s Run sparkly the morning of the wedding for all of us girls!!

The actually property feels like you have been transported to the south of France. Every room is decorated better than the last and there are so many comfortable places to sit and drink your coffee while looking at the gorgeous outdoor space. We got married in Beatrix Garden, which was stunning and absolutely perfect. There are outdoor and indoor spaces to use so we didn’t have to even think about the weather. The area where the cocktail hour was held was breathtaking. Our guests were able to spread out on couches, tables, Adirondack chairs, decks and a ledge with high top chairs. The beautiful decks held a bar, a raw bar and our musicians with tons of extra space for guests to mingle and relax. Everyone was commenting on how amazing it was. I had so many guests genuinely tell me it was the best wedding the had ever been to.

The tent (which is always there) was gorgeous and huge and decorated with romantic, whimsical twinkle lights. There was a huge area for the band and dancing and the tables each had plenty of space while still feeling intimate. I can’t say enough good about Shepherd’s Run and the people who run it.
The food was absolutely outstanding and we actually had our own personal server assigned to us who attended to anything we would need. Our guests commented on how delicious the food was more times than I could count. The servers were fast and the bartenders were fantastic!

Shepherd’s Run was better than we could have ever imagined it could be, and it is right in South Kingstown!

Simply Spectacular!

Shannon and her team at Blackstone are absolutely the best!!! We were so grateful to work with them every step of the way, especially while rescheduling our wedding due to COVID and navigating all the rapidly changing restrictions.

Planning: An absolute breeze - Shannon is so incredible to work with, it is like having a second wedding coordinator!

Offerings: So incredibly flexible - we wanted a plated dinner with a South-Asian fusion feel, and they absolutely nailed it!!

Quality of food day-of: SPECTACULAR - my guests have been raving about the food for weeks after. Probably within the top 5 meals I have ever had, and that was while serving 140 guests at-once!

Service day-of: I felt like an absolute princess - the servers were always at-the-ready with samples for my groom and I. we ate so well on the wedding-day because of this, which is mostly unheard of!

The Multicourse Menu was the Showcase of our Intimate Covid Reception

I have had the pleasure of working with Blackstone professionally for many years. When it came time to plan our wedding in October 2020, they were my first call. Our wedding could have been a disaster, COVID really tried. Karen and Nicole allowed us to have a small, safe and stunning wedding that for a while felt like the world was almost back to normal (with stylish masks of course!). They are arranged everything beforehand and even helped to set up our details, they made sure everything ran smoothly, on time and then packed up our car so we literally did nothing as the bride and groom or even bridal party, just sat back and enjoyed the gourmet meal our guests could not stop gushing about, the incomparable atmosphere and the magic in the air. They foster relationships to last a lifetime. Any event I host in RI in the future, will be theirs exclusively. Restaurant Quality Food & Attention to Detail

We are obsessed with Blackstone. The options they have available are delicious and creative, but even better, they will work with you to modify your menu beyond your wildest dreams! We are foodies, who essentially wanted our wedding to be one big dinner party. Our event manager was Shannon, and she is THE BEST. I can confidently say our wedding would not have happened without her. We planned from a distance and she was so important for keeping us on track and had a huge role in making the actual day perfect. She is professional, creative, FUN!! and kind, and worked with us to make some tweaks to our wedding food and drink so that the offerings perfectly reflected us. We had a cookie table instead of a cake, and Shannon was so helpful in facilitating that even though half of the cookies were from outside sources. We love New England craft beer, and Shannon swapped out a local favorite for one of their stock options. We love moscow mules, and Shannon made sure the bar was stocked with all of the necessary fixings! In summary, if you dream it, they will probably do it! They are understanding of last minute changes which ended up being important for us. We still have people raving about the food at our wedding! We often joke that when we're back in town, we'd like to have dinner at Blackstone instead of a restaurant :) BLACKSTONE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY.

I've been part of the Newport community for many years and have always heard good things about Blackstone and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! From our very first meet and greet, through the tasting, through all the planning to the day of I had nothing but a positive experience working with them.

We worked with Shannon, who I highly recommend. She was quick to respond via email, gave honest opinions and really helped us make our dream wedding a reality! She and her staff worked seamlessly setting up the event and then ran everything so smoothly. I really cant say enough nice things about Blackstone Caterers! From the start, Karen, was an absolute angel to work with. She was so very accommodating to our needs and towards the end I think I was emailing her 5x a day but at no point did she make me feel bad about it! Blackstone did so much like help with linens, glassware and other small details I really had no idea about which made planning a breeze. Aside from the great service while planning, my wedding guests are still raving 2 weeks later about how great the raw bar, entrees & desserts were! I had an attendant by my side and I wanted for nothing the whole night :) I would recommend Blackstone 100 out of 100 times, your only regret will be not booking them!!

Working with Shannon and Blackstone was a great experience!

We worked with Shannon at Blackstone and she was just a joy! We did 4 tastings with the best of the best. Blackstone blew the others out of the water. No other tasting even came close!
The day of the wedding when they pulled back the curtains at Rosecliff to let the guests into the ballroom, everything was perfect! We had asked for certain things to be at each place setting and on each table and it was exactly right.
Now to the best part, the food was fantastic - not "wedding food fantastic", but great restaurant fantastic! It was served efficiently so everyone got a dinner that was hot. We were so pleased with our choice and would recommend Blackstone AND Shannon!

From the moment we began our tasting, we knew Blackstone was the best choice for us. The food is really good! And the quality of service really made our wedding day the best. 5 Star Service for a 5 Star Wedding

Blackstone is incredible. They’ve been great to work with from the initial concept and layout of our wedding to the tasting, to logistics, to the service at our wedding to the rave reviews all of our guests had about the food, they’ve been so easy and fun to work with. Karen T was so helpful and thoughtful during our planning process and allowed us to bring my wife’s mother along for our tasting. While I thought the tasting was going to be hard to beat, the food and service our wedding was even better. They had hors d'oeuvres and drinks waiting for our bridal party immediately after the ceremony which everyone loved and appreciated (we killed 3 platters of lobster roles alone). Our guests not only raves about the meal but also how professional and impeccable the service was all night. They even made sure that my wife and I each got two of the appetizers and two of the desserts at our table which was a great touch.

Blackstone is far from the cheapest option, but from a value standpoint, I’d quality food and impeccable service are what you want for your wedding, then you won’t be able to beat Blackstone.

I can't say enough about Blackstone Caterers and Shannon. We honestly hired Blackstone because of Shannon- we could tell from the first time we met Shannon that she was passionate about her clients and that she would get the job done. Throughout the wedding planning process Shannon was on top of EVERYTHING - from choosing a tent and linens to choosing the menu to customizing our open bar, she led us through a stress free process and truly had our best interest in mind. Above and Beyond Caterer!

Blackstone is amazing!! From the second I spoke to Shannon Driscoll to get a quote and menu options I knew I had to work with Blackstone! Shannon was there every step of the way from selecting the menu to the food tasting, to selecting linens, china and other vendors. She was extremely responsive to my emails and phone calls and made my wedding planning so easy! Since my wedding was a destination Shannon allowed my fiancé and I to order items and mail them to her. She was just above and beyond!! The most amazing part was that Blackstone had duplications of all the food selections in GF version since I’m allergic to gluten and surprised me with this at my wedding! I can’t recommend Blackstone enough and I want to plan another event just to work with them again! Thank you Blackstone and Shannon for making my wedding day so perfect!

The Best!!

I honestly can't speak highly enough of Blackstone! Working with them was easy and effortless from the start. We worked with Karen, who is now the owner, and she is seriously the best!! She always answered my emails in a timely manner, was extremely helpful and was able to really help my vision come to life. It is really helpful that Blackstone acts as the liaison between you and the rental company to pick out linens and table settings etc. It made my life so much easier to have everyone on the same page and connected. On our wedding day the food and signature drinks were unbelievable. We have had so many of our guests tell us that we had the best food they have ever had at a wedding! My husband and I were really impressed with how thoughtful the staff was. We had a ton of food from cocktail hour waiting for us in our bridal suite after we took our pictures and then all night long the attendant was always getting us anything we needed without us even asking! Blackstone goes above and beyond to make sure your wedding day is perfect in every way! Blackstone is the best of the best!

Amazing food!!!

We worked with Danielle Costa at Blackstone to cater our wedding. From beginning to end, everything was absolutely amazing! Our tasting with her was great; she let us try sooo many options and worked with us to customize each dish to our exact tastes. She was so flexible, informative, and helpful that planning our menu was actually one of the easiest tasks I had while wedding planning. She even acted as the liaison for our rentals (linens, plates, and furniture), which made it so much easier having just have 1 person to take care of everything. She had wonderful suggestions for ways to make our wedding special - suggestions about how to setup our dessert table, flower garnishes for passed cocktails, timing and order of how the food was served, a champagne tower, and she even agreed to dye the cream in our cannolis pink to match our theme! The day of our wedding she was right there making sure everything was executed seamlessly. The waitstaff was phenomenal - glasses were never empty, service was fast and seamless, they were able to articulate every ingredient to our guests with food restrictions, and were so polite and friendly. Literally every single guest told us how amazing the food was. Danielle and Blackstone made everything absolutely perfect for us!!

Made my garden wedding dreams come true!

Karen at Blackstone was amazing from the first time I reached out to her. She was able to answer every question and fulfill every request! She was able to coordinate to handle not only our catering but also our cake and rentals. This saved me so much time and hassle! The food was absolutely incredible and had our guests raving and the service was second to none. Not only were my husband and I well cared for with a personal server all night who ensured we were able to actually eat the food we selected but the other wait staff were attentive to all our guest's needs. The night ran so smoothly and exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend them!

Amazing Service!

Danielle and everyone at Blackstone were absolutely incredible to work with from start to finish! Danielle was so professional, prompt and quick to answer any questions we had in customizing our perfect menu. As we got closer, Danielle met with me to discuss linens and napkins as well as helped to display decor and favors. She worked with me to help accommodate some guests who had allergies and even when a few guests could not make it last minute. She was always assured, easy-going and helped to keep me calm. The team was fabulous the night of our wedding from service, to professionalism to quality and value. The food was OUTSTANDING. Everyone of our guests raved about how delicious the food was from the appetizers to the entrees being cooked perfectly and warm! My husband and I never had to ask for anything and all of our guests felt the service was 5 star. Blackstone Caterers MADE our wedding day

Blackstone Caterers worked with us for our wedding at the Herreshoff Marine Museum in October 2018 and they were seriously top notch! From the very beginning, Danielle worked with us to make sure that every detail of our day was thoughtfully planned and organized. We didn't have a wedding coordinator and since we were wedding novices, I'm sure that Danielle did a lot more for us than most other caterers do. She delightfully and patiently answered every question, no matter how big or small, that we had and I can't say how much I appreciated that. She made accommodations for us like scheduling our tasting on a day that they normally do not schedule them, since my family was visiting from out of town that did not go unnoticed. Also, everyone RAVED about the food at our wedding. The staff at our wedding made sure that we were well taken care of all night. As we walked into cocktail hour, we were handed drinks right away and there was and entire plate of appetizers waiting for us at our table as we sat down for dinner. Cindy, who was the on-site manager the day-of, did such an incredible job. Lastly, weddings are expensive and catering is typically one of the larger checks you have to write, but Blackstone was worth every single penny. Thank you again, Danielle and Cindy!

Seasonal cuisine at its best

Blackstone catered our wedding at Blithewold Mansion at the end of September. They are one of three exclusive caterers for this venue. They have an extensive seasonal menu and were a pleasure to work with. Karen Riley Tungett was our contact at Blackstone. It was a joy to work with Karen. From day one, she was extremely communicative and enthusiastic about helping us plan. We did a tasting in June and were blown away by the selections. The flavors were complex and the presentations were beautiful. Because Blackstone has a history of working at Blithewold, Karen was able to guide us in planning the entire event. On the wedding day, Karen and her staff were wonderful. They were extremely attentive to our needs and to our guests’ needs. We had a family-style meal service and they were able to accommodate everyone’s food allergies. They also arranged plates full of homemade cookies, which is one of our family traditions. Our guests have been raving about the food and the entire event ever since, and we owe much of this to Karen and her team. We highly recommend Blackstone!!

Incredible food with exceptional service

We cannot recommend Blackstone highly enough. Karen was our point-person throughout the planning process, and she was a dream to work with. She was so excited for us, extremely kind, replied to all our questions immediately, and went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect (she's part of the catering team and was setting up ceremony chairs the day of the wedding!). The Blackstone team was friendly and efficient, and several people have told us the food at our event was the "best food I've ever had at a wedding." The Blackstone crew pampered us, following us with champagne and snacks as we did our final photos post-ceremony and checking in throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. Food is important to us (and to a good event!), and we could not be happier with our choice to hire Blackstone. We're so grateful for their wonderful service!

Beyond happy with my catering choice!

I couldn't possibly put into words how amazing Karen was to work with! Karen and Blackstone Caterers were amazing from start to finish. Our tasting was above and beyond, for example, my gluten free nut free mother in law came just to be a part of it but Karen went above and beyond to make sure she enjoyed the tasting just as much as everyone else. The food was amazing at the tasting and amazing at the wedding, which doesn't always happen. I didn't hear a guest who didn't enjoy their meal and my mother happened to noticed several clean plates which is also not very common in my experience. But above all that, Karen helped me through majority of the planning process and I couldn't have done it without her help. It was so nice to work with someone who offered insight, suggestions, and ideas on things that may not have been in the area of which I was paying her for. She answered all of my questions, was extremely organized which was relieving many times on my end, and was always so pleasant to talk to and work with. Sure, may be slightly more expensive if you're comparing to other catering options but one thousand percent worth it.

Amazing!!!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Blackstone Caterers! Shannon went above and beyond consistently. She answered our silliest questions at all times of day and was the most pleasant and professional person ever. Leading up to the wedding she was amazing- from emails to our tasting we were so lucky to be working with her! Our wedding day went flawlessly- there was always someone asking if we needed anything and even a server right there to give our bridal party food immediately after the ceremony. Nikki was our bridal attendant and is one of the sweetest people ever. Every person we interacted with was incredible.
And the food? Amazing! We heard nothing but compliments on everything from the main course to the desserts. We did stations but Nikki made sure we got something to eat and they kept setting some of everything on our table so we would get a chance to try everything. It was all delicious and our friends and family are still raving about the food.
I would recommend them without a single hesitation. Definitely request Shannon- she will make your event incredible!

Delicious and vegan options available!

I worked with Danielle to cater a 100 person guest list. As the groom and I were both vegans, we had a lot of back and forth communication regarding appetizers, etc. Danielle was amazing, replying quickly and was truly so accommodating to all of my requests and emails! And of course the best part was the food - the guests raved at how delicious everything came out. We even used them for desserts and they provided such an impressive variety that nothing went to waste! I would highly recommend Blackstone and would love to use them in the future.

If you're reading this because you are considering booking them, book them now! There are not enough good things I can say about Shannon and her team. For my wedding, we planned an outdoor ceremony and moments before it was to start, it began to pour. The Blackstone team immediately sprang to work, moving everything inside the tent for the reception, and then literally took the shirts off their backs and wiped down all of the chairs. If that weren't enough, every one of my guests raved about the food, including the perfectly prepared fish for over 100 guests. Their staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful - another comment from my guests. And to top it off, Shannon was not only an extraordinary caterer but basically served as my wedding planner and worked with me diligently and patiently for almost one year. If I could have Blackstone cater all my future events.

The staff was efficient, friendly and professional. Danielle and her team did a fantastic job putting together a perfect day for us. All of our needs were met and we did not have a single worry the entire day. Everyone warned me that I would not have time to eat on my wedding day, but that was NO problem for me due to the excellent service and amazing food, I was stuffed! The opportunity to ‘wow’ our guests through locally sourced means, providing a ‘taste of Rhode Island’ and showing our friends and family why we love to call lil’ Rhody our home, Blackstone Caterers delivered. Karen was a completely pleasure to work with, her infectious smile and lovable laugh, she worked with us constantly throughout, answering our thoughts, questions, and concerns promptly. Scheduled, constructive meetings followed by our tasting, we were able to work with Karen to the very last minute on our wedding. An accompaniment of linens and china, plenty of culinary options to choose to tailor to the season, in our case between Summer and Autumn, familiar and able to work with our other vendors, there was not one discouraging comment from our friends and family, in fact, they can’t stop talking about it. The setup and décor simply beautiful, the food presentation (cocktail hour, passed hors d’oeuvres, and plated dinner) spectacular, the staff meticulous, tailored, and definitely on foot and knee for our guests, hands down, we highly recommend Blackstone Caterers.

Allow me to begin by saying that the food was exceptional! Over and over again, our guests were marveling at how delicious and wonderful the meal was. The appetizers and Rhode Island Station were fabulous, guest enjoyed everything but were trying to pace themselves so that they would have enough room for dinner! Not only was the food fresh and delicious, the presentation was gorgeous as well. But as well all know, there is far more to catering than just the food…. Please allow me to commend the staff at Blackstone for their outstanding level of service, attention to detail, and perfect execution. Immediately after the ceremony, the bridal party was greeted with servers bearing the signature cocktail and appetizers!! Honestly, we felt like we were being pampered by a team of beautiful, smiling, magicians who were always there when you needed them but never in the way. Everyone on their staff knew exactly what to do and when to do it. Not once did we have to worry about a single detail, it was all perfectly executed in an elegant and sophisticated manner!

Not being from Rhode Island ourselves, we are so grateful that we listened to the recommendation to use Blackstone for our event. After our first-hand experience, I certainly now know why Blackstone is the premiere caterer in Rhode Island, a reputation that is well deserved!

So once again, thank you for providing our guests with a beautiful event, it was flawless!!

Blackstone Caterers are top notch. We got so many compliments on the hors d'oeuvres, dinners, and especially the milk shake desserts. The quality of everything blew our socks off.

Karen and her staff were very organized and everything went off without a hitch. We did catch some errors with the food selections on the paperwork before the event, but everything was able to be cleared up pretty easily and quickly.

We did have a wedding party attendant that brought us drinks and food during photos. It was a very nice touch, and we would highly recommend them.

The food, service, staff and professionalism that Blackstone provided at Blithewold for my daughter's wedding was outstanding! The cocktails, circulated appetizers, and entrees were delicious, were presented so elegantly and with such wonderful service. As the hostess, (mother of the bride), they couldn't do enough to make sure that I got the cocktail of my choice and continually offered me appetizers and dessert so I wouldn't need to fend for myself. Such a nice touch and of course this courtesy was extended to the bride and groom also. The timing of the the food was exactly as my daughter had indicated, so that the speeches and music could go on without interruption. Danielle was a superior event coordinator and from our initial meeting, during our fun morning at the tasting to the day of the wedding where she briefly sought me out, the attention to the wedding family and the service/food that day were excellent. Our guests were truly wowed by the spectacular food and presentation that Blackstone Caterers provided. Thanks for being such a delightful vendor contributing to our magical wedding. Additionally, we found the pricing and value related to the food and open bar to be very reasonable and worth every penny!

We got married in Newport about 3 weeks ago, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We worked with Danielle throughout the entire planning process, and she was truly amazing, accommodating every single one of our requests (including a last minute request to serve iced coffee at the reception which was a total hit!). Her entire staff was extremely pleasant to deal with, and our guests continue to tell us rave reviews about the staff and more importantly, the food! I can't even begin to describe the incredible experience we had when working with Blackstone. We had the pleasure of working with Karen, and after our first meeting, I knew that no matter what else I did, my wedding would be incredible because she would be a part of it. Karen and her team are beyond professional, and they made the entire planning process so much fun. Karen was so patient with me when I was making all of our meal choices and helped me to come up with a menu that would suit guest food allergies and dietary restrictions, while still making sure that my husband and I loved the selections we chose. The food - I should mention - is INCREDIBLE. The shrimp at the raw bar were the best I've ever had, and as the bride, I actually got to eat the food because Karen's team was so attentive. Karen helped us pick a great signature cocktail that so many guests have tried to replicate, and her team was just an all around joy to work with. I cannot recommend Blackstone more highly!

Blackstone brought their A game to our wedding at the Meeting House in Tiverton, RI. We could not have hoped for a better caterer! Shannon, our coordinator, was so helpful throughout the entire planning process: happily answering my (million) questions, working with us to plan a menu that fit within our budget but still wow-ed our guests, helping us integrate personalized elements (hand scooped ice cream cones for dessert, our favorite craft beers, etc.) and giving us other useful tips along the way. Our actual wedding day went off without a hitch. Angela, the catering team lead, was great - she made sure to introduce herself to me when we arrived and seemed to have everything well under control. Both Shannon and Angela went above and beyond and even worked with my friends to tie up my ridiculous bustle, which I can't thank them enough for! The other catering staff were all extremely friendly and polished, they made sure that our guests were comfortable and well fed. Some feedback from our friends and family included: "We were stunned by the amount of food you guys had at the wedding!", "Everything was delicious", "The bartenders and servers were awesome!" "Can we get that lobster roll recipe?"...the list goes on. We priced out several vendors in the area and are so glad that we went with Blackstone. Everything was perfectly executed. Seriously, best catering option in Rhode Island...We cannot recommend this vendor more highly!

Blackstone recently catered my daughter's wedding in Newport--and everything was exceptional! Our guests loved the passed hors d'ouvres and Dels and vodka on the beach after the ceremony. For the reception, instead of doing a plated dinner, we opted to go with three amazing food stations. This got out guests up out our their chairs circulating--and people loved that they could try a little of everything and go back for seconds--and thirds and fourths! The Rhode Island station with mini fish and chips, chowder, stuffies and lobster rolls was a particular hit. From the quality of the food to the presentation to the service, Blackstone delivered. They also handled the cake, linens and the bar, which made planning and coordinating the wedding so much easier. #HighlyRecommend

I have been postponing writing this review because I'm having such a hard time finding words to describe this wonderful team. From day one Karen and the rest of the Blackstone team was incredible to work with.

We wanted to do a tasting before booking with any caterer, because we did not want typical wedding food. They worked with us on the cocktail hour food and on the main entrees, to customize everything to what we wanted.

As the planning process went on, they helped us work on every little detail. As I didn't have a wedding planner, I really appreciated all the little tips Blackstone gave us. The same can be said for the wedding day: they literally thought of every single little detail to ensure that everyone has a fantastic experience.

All our guests were saying that they were blown away my how incredible the food was. And the service was just as fantastic. They especially paid attention to myself and the groom. There was always a glass of champagne in my hand, they put aside food from the cocktail hour for us; sent up drinks before the ceremony, etc. They also helped us set up the cigar and scotch bar; and served our guests with our special wine pairing request. They even provided special desert wine glasses, that the rental company did not have available.

As our wedding was on the smaller side (approx. 55 people) - we were concerned that some vendors may not want to spend the time to customize everything. But Blackstone made us feel like our event was the most important one of the year. They cooked traditional ethnic dishes for us that are not typically on their menu to allow us to make our day truly unique.

Of course their usual stations were fresh and delicious as well. We had the tuscan table and the raw bar, as well as the cheesecake station.

All in all, i would absolutely recommend this company. Both food and service exceeded my expectations.

Blackstone will go above and beyond for you. If they're available on your wedding date, book them! They catered our August wedding at the Blithewold Mansion near Newport. Everything was absolute perfection! We worked with Karen and she was a delight and super responsive. They set up all of our tables for the reception. We had lanterns, candles, greenery, and table numbers, as well as seating cards. I was a little worried- would it all be set up correctly? It looked like perfection when we got them, the team at Blackstone are truly professionals. After the ceremony, my wedding party was taking photos and they bought us all over apps and cocktails (since we were missing cocktail hour). When my husband and I sat for dinner there was a plate of every appetizer from cocktail hour there as well (we missed the whole hour for photos), which was a nice surprise. They gave us a point person who was there helping everything run smoothly- though we honestly didn't need to find them once because the whole thing went off without a hitch. All our guests complimented the food as well.. Tip- get the lobster mash potatoes!

Deciding to go with Blackstone was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Blackstone really helped put the wedding day together for us, and handled our numerous questions and emails with professionalism, kindness and an eagerness to help us. We felt like Karen was in our corner, and was working exclusively on our wedding, and our wedding alone.

It should also be noted that their patience and professionalism was exercised when creating a completely gluten-free experience. Everything from the raw bar and passed hors d'oeuvre, down to the cake and French macaroons were celiac friendly. This was paramount as the Bride was allergic (and also extremely paranoid of being glutenized on her wedding day ☺).

With Blackstone, not only did we get an amazing caterer, but we also had a day-of coordinator for the event, and another person to help the bride with anything she needed, but we also got a team of event planners that helped us with everything from handling the tent for the reception (we had an outdoor wedding), to ordering additional, outdoor bathrooms, to coordinating torches and lighting, to handling seating for the ceremony. Basically, if no other vendors showed up, we would still have had a beautiful, smoothly run wedding day. And did we mention the food? Because every single one of our guests did! The food was quite simply, amazing.

If we could do it again, we would go with Blackstone every single time.

If you want to eat on your wedding day this is the vendor to go with. The food was delicious and we got to enjoy it all! Even if we had not been able to enjoy the appetizers during the cocktail hour we would have gotten to taste them because they had extras of each type waiting at our seats. We were almost too full to even eat our dinner! We had chosen some desserts to have with a small wedding cake to cut but the wedding cake turned out to be delicious on top of giving us something to cut for pictures. Scott made sure we had what we needed the day of. Lastly Shannon was FANTASTIC! She quickly responded to emails and was always helpful and making me feel like I was in good hands. The day was timed out perfectly and I think that is because Blackstone knows what they are doing and why they are known as one of the best caterers in the area. You can not go wrong with Blackstone you will have delicious food and receive impeccable service.

I am so glad that we went with Blackstone for our wedding catering! Working with Karen was a dream: she is very quick to respond and easy to talk to, flexible, experienced, and funny, too! One example is that we opted to do a buffet and my mom was concerned about the amount of food, so Karen worked with us to add a pasta option for free, which was very generous and put my mom's mind at ease. During the wedding, Karen and her staff made sure my husband and I were taken care of (which was truly the only way we were able to eat!), handled guest service very professionally, and all of the food was delicious. (If you can, get the salmon entree!) While they might be a little more expensive than other caterers, they are completely worth it. Karen and her team made it so we weren't worried about the food and drinks at all, and could just sit back and enjoy the evening! Thank you, Blackstone!

Where do I even begin?! Shannon and her team at Blackstone Caterers are the real deal. From very early on, Shannon was extremely responsive, patient and accommodating to all of my requests (and I had a lot of them!) From our first phone call I knew that we were in the best hands and that I could trust her and her team to pull off our vision - and they did! I really can't say enough about Shannon's patience and responsiveness. Even if she wasn't in the office or available to answer my question, she would respond right away to let me know that she would follow up ASAP. This type of service is so important during wedding planning when there are so many moving parts and so many details to navigate. I had so many last minute requests and changes and Shannon was always accommodating. My mom was worried about the set-up of some of our DIY projects and items we brought from home but Shannon set them all up perfectly - we were all so impressed! She also organized all of our rentals and deliveries which was a great added bonus and one less stress that I had to manage. The food was phenomenal - Shannon worked with me on the menu to make sure it was exactly what we wanted and offered suggestions to make our menu perfection. We added in a raw bar and our guests raved about the presentation and deliciousness - it was the highlight of our wedding for a lot of our guests! I really can't say enough about the deliciousness! Our guests also commented on how classy and responsive the caterers were the day of the wedding - the service was top notch! I highly recommend Blackstone to all brides looking for an organized, delicious, professional caterer. I could go on and on about how happy I am with Blackstone caterers and Shannon - I could not have pulled off my wedding without Shannon and her Blackstone team. I feel very lucky that we found Danielle at Blackstone Caterers for our wedding and reception. Danielle was truly the consummate professional - she handled everything so calmly and smoothly. And she helped us with so much more than just the catering -- we were a bit overwhelmed as we were having the wedding at our home, and she helped by referring us to a number of vendors, coordinating with them, and answering tons of questions that we had. She was also there on the day of to make sure that everything went smoothly. She is a warm and lovely person, who clearly loves what she does, and it shows. And the food itself was delicious! In addition, the staff was terrific and we got lots of compliments on both the food and service. And they did a great job of clean-up, so that there was nothing for me to do after they left. It was a great experience from start to finish, and I can't recommend Danielle and Blackstone highly enough!

Blackstone Caterers went above and beyond to help make our wedding the perfect day for us and our guests! The food was delicious, the set up was spectacular, and they kept the schedule of the reception and cocktail hour going with ease. I am still craving their homemade mac and cheese appetizer and pumpkin ravioli dish!
Shannon was easy to work with and was very professional throughout the entire process. She gave us tips, suggestions, and ideas without feeling like she was taking over the wedding planning process. We ended up taking many of her suggestions which made our entire day run much smoother. We had complete trust in this caterer.
They make you feel like you are their number one priority. I never felt like I was getting pushed aside or put on hold at any point during the wedding planning process. It was hard for me to envision the set up of our venue with how they described it at one of the meetings. However, when I walked in during our entrance, I was taken aback with how beautiful the set up was. I was almost in tears!!!!!

If we could give them 6 stars, we could. Blackstone was amazing, the food was just incredible (priority #1) and the service was outstanding. We did two signature cocktails, and they were tasty- and STRONG! Wohoo!

Blackstone offers incredible food and service at at a very good value. There are no hidden fees or costs when you book with them - in fact they helped us create a food and drink menu beyond what our contract even stipulated! Working with Shannon was an absolute pleasure - I really wanted to serve short ribs at the wedding and she did a separate special tasting (no charge) and helped us tailor the short ribs menu item to perfection. The food/drink service was executed beautifully during our wedding - from the copper mugs for moscow mules to the artistic plating, the little details were perfect. The Blackstone staff was incredibly helpful and gracious - our guests were commenting on how wonderful they were days after the wedding - which is remarkable! Shannon and her staff helped us create such a beautiful day and wedding - we will miss working with them and would recommend Blackstone wholeheartedly!

Amazing Caterer! Top notch! My wedding was on September 17th 2016. We worked with Blackstone for about a year in advance on the details, and Karen was an absolute joy to work with- so friendly, upbeat, and nice, and completely on the ball. I would send an email and get a response very quickly- something that is quite important to a stressed bride-to-be! They made my life easier and pleasant every step of the way. They also collaborated well with our other vendors, such as the florist and my wedding coordinator, which really helped take some of the workload off of me. The tasting was so much fun- food was delicious, and the experience was great. I loved how the day of the wedding they made sure Ted and I got a plate of some of the hors d'oeuvres we had missed during cocktail hour for photos, and they also made sure we got a plate of desserts during the busy night. The guests loved the food and we are very thankful we went with Blackstone. Thanks again Karen!

They were amazing. All my guests have said how professional they were, what great service they had and how the food was outstanding. They even has attendants for me the day of the wedding making sure I had enough food etc! And hor d'eouvres at our table in case we didnt get any before. How cute!

The work prior to the wedding wasn't any different. Karen was fantastic. She knows her stuff (she has been there for ten years!) ! She responds super fast and adorably! She makes you feel so special (and my family too!) and is just so in charge. She works so hard. She answers questions very quickly and just always make you feel like she knows whats up. And in the end everything goes perfectly! It is expensive but you get what you pay for. The service is just as excellent as the product. They do a fabulous job! Oh and for us environmental people, the leftovers go to a pig farm! :)))))) and they recycle! Wooohoo! Love you Karen!!! :)

Oh they also take care of the rentals so you don't have to worry about that which is nice! :)

When I first visited this Venue is was under construction, and I knew even in the mist of bare wood and nails this was it. But they did not have a kitcehn so we needed to get a caterer. I looked at the receommed ones they provided to us and spoke to a few. As soon as I spoke to and interacted with Shannon, i was sold. She was so sweet and professional- we
got the date set and put our deposit down.
We interacted several times via email, and effortlessly she was able to accommodate everything we were looking for on our menu. She even gave us great suggestions for late night snacks that were a super hit with our guests. The mini ice-cream cones, and fish and chips boats sealed the deal for the best wedding ever for our guests. The reception went seamlessly thanks to Shannon, and the venue coordinator. They set up all our decor for us just like the pics we sent them. I could have cried with how perfect the day went. The food was DELICIOUS, she was on top of everything. I am still baffled with how perfect the service was. They were so amazing and treated me and my hubby like ~ king and queens.
Seriously this is the most perfect catering I could ever imagine anyone working with. From service to food A ++ I am still in awe of how gorgeous our day was, and the compliments from everyone regarding how amazing the wedding was.
All I can say is AMAZING- #1 in England and thank you for making our wedding the most Beautiful and Delicious day ever! Shannon is the BEST!!!!

Gave a wedding for my daughter this weekend for 150 people. From the very beginning, leading to the event, Blackstone could not have been more helpful and genuinely interested in making this a special occasion. At the wedding itself the service and the professionalism of all the help and the food was extraordinary. There never seemed a time any guest was lacking for anything whether a refill, more hors d'oeuvres or removing used plates and glasses and yet they were never underfoot. At dinner, serving that many people and doing it perfectly and timely and all the food hot, was no small feat. Can't begin to tell you how many of our guests complemented them to me, don't ever remember that happening before. Made a memorable occasion unforgettable.

We used Blackstone as our caterer for our 7/18/15 wedding at The Towers in Narragansett. We live in NJ and weren't sure where to begin our search for a caterer. We spoke to a few caterers we found on The Knot and made appointments at 4. Blackstone was the only caterer to give you a tasting up front before you sign a contract. This was a big deal for us as we were nervous about signing a contract without even tasting the food. The tasting was DELICIOUS! It wasn't even a close call with the other 3 caterers.

Shannon was very responsive and paid attention to every detail. On the day of our wedding, all of the decorations were exactly as I wanted. Even a last minute addition of having candles added to a few guests' wedding cake for birthday/anniversary celebrations was taken care of. The personal server that the bride/groom are assigned was awesome! He made sure we had a plate of the appetizers, brought us drinks, and boxed up our uneaten food for us to be eaten the next day. All of our decorations were also nicely packed away for my parents to grab before they left for the evening as well.

The food was amazing. Our guests are still talking about it. If you are on the fence about getting the raw bar go for it. The shrimp were HUGE. For our appetizers we had the cheese bar, raw bar, mini chowder/clam cakes, mini wellingtons, chicken quesadillas, mini lobster rolls, and the beef carpaccio. We decided on the caprese salad, statler chicken w/ boursin mashed potatoes, and surf and turf w/ citrus risotto. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted so good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again.

I would highly recommend Blackstone Caterers for your wedding. You will not be disappointed. It is well worth the money.

Shannon at Blackstone was very accommodating with all of our needs. We were in a bit of a time crunch as we started planning a bit late for the event but they jumped right on board. They were great in working with our venue as well as with our vendors. Shannon was always open minded and honest with us in making recommendations which we very much appreciated. She took in all our needs and made sure they were accommodated. The day of event went swimmingly with very professional staff and great food. Our guests kept talking about those two aspects after the wedding.

Nobody is going to lie to your face and tell you the food at your wedding was good when it was actually crap. But when people are still coming up to us, months after the wedding day, to say that the food Blackstone provided was the best wedding meal they've ever had? That's how you know this team is special. Karen at Blackstone was essentially our consigliere. We had questions about logistics? She had answers. We needed recommendations for DJs, transportation services, or even portable toilets (yep, we needed them)? They were at the ready. And that's even before you get to the food itself, which is hard to top. Her team worked with us to design a bespoke menu, and accommodated all of our requests, ideas, and suggestions without a hint of difficulty. And their day-of service was beyond exceptional. Yes, they can be a bit pricey, but they're worth every single penny.

Blackstone Caterers were phenomenal! We knew their reputation was the best on island and expected their prices to be out of our budget. We were pleasantly surprised with their competitive prices! Karen and her team were flawless in getting everything set up. Every person was warm and made me feel special. Karen even stayed with us, fluffing my train before the ceremony and making us feel completely cared for. We had a few special meal issues–severe food allergies, gluten intolerances, and a vegan. Every guest was made to feel so special and received exactly the right meal. Our newly pregnant guest needed to have her steak cooked a bit longer, it was treated as completely no problem. Our guest with severe allergies is used to not being able to eat at weddings and receptions--- she ate every bite and knew how much we cared. We were thrilled to watch her enjoy her night thanks to Blackstone! Karen and the team also thought to bring us a wide selection of hour d’ouvres to our pre-determined location with a bottle of wine so we could sneak a few bites before we joined our guests. It was wonderful and exactly the moment we needed. Our food was so yummy we did not suffer that bride and groom problem of not eating --- we both ate and even had a second piece of cake. It was amazing.
Even prior to our big day, Karen was such a joy to work with! She recommended other awesome vendors and made our food tasting turn into a fun date! When we had a snag on our wedding cake (vendor lost the order and then was overbooked!) Karen worked to get another bakery to make the flavors we wanted and provided us with extra dessert options as a surprise! When the forecast changed in the days immediately before our wedding, Karen immediately secured us a reservation on heaters-- when we called the same vendor that day at the recommendation of the venue, we were told they were booked! She absolutely went above & beyond!

I don't even know where to begin in thanking everyone at Blackstone Caterers for the phenomenal, over-the-top service we received at our wedding on June 20th at Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum in Bristol, RI. My fiancee (now husband), parents and I have been working with Karen Riley Tungett for over a year to plan this event. She has been a true pleasure to work with. She is responsive, thoughtful, kind and professional. She remembers the little things - i.e. specific votives Mom and I liked from the Newport Bridal Show; she made sure they were on our reception tables for the wedding day. The tasting that we did with Karen this past winter was my favorite day of the entire wedding planning process. Blackstone goes above and beyond to make sure that you and your guests are well taken care of. There is a reason they are the best in the business - they have the best product (food, drinks, planning), paired with the best people. Cindy, our day-of coordinator was fantastic. She made sure that everything ran smoothly, and was warm and friendly. As Nick and I walked around with our photographer taking pictures during part of the cocktail hour, a server followed us with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Our bridal party and parents were also well taken care of. My mom (with my aunt and a friend), made homemade Italian cookies and mini-cheesecakes. Blackstone made sure they were displayed on the dessert bar. Along with the florist (Sayles Livingston), Blackstone made sure that our reception tent and decor was just stunning. Blackstone also coordinated renting specialty linens (Navy liberty key, with accents of coral solid linens) through Rentals Unlimited. You will not be underquoted either - the estimate we received early-on in the process was essentially the exact total cost when all was said and done. I promise, you will never regret choosing Blackstone Caterers. Thank you, Blackstone- and especially Karen. You are the absolute best.

A++++++ service! I worked with Karen and she was by far my favorite vendor. She was incredibly helpful with absolutely everything and went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We had a long engagement so she had to put up with my questions for quite some time, but she was always incredibly patient, helpful, and responsive. She always emails you back within minutes! She even dealt with my mom who was being a bit picky about wine selections :) AND she went out of her way to get my nephew some vanilla ice cream so he could take his pill during the reception. During our reception, she brought us a tray of HD's to the wedding suite since she knew we probably wouldn't get to eat otherwise (true!). And she came over to tell us when the sunset light was perfect for sunset photos, which wasn't even her responsibility but it was so nice that she was looking out for us and we were so grateful that she did! Absolutely PHENOMENAL service. And the food is outstanding. I will sing her praises all day and recommend her to anyone getting married in the area.

Professional and delicious are understatements in describing Blackstone Catering. Danielle and company were absolutely the best to work with - so friendly, helpful with coordinating details, prompt with emails, competitive rates. We received so many compliments on how delicious the food was at the wedding, from the hors d'oeuvres to salads to entrees, everything was so good. The staff were very professional and executed everything I asked them to set up just perfectly. There was nothing left out of place. Danielle put my mind at ease about the details so that I could enjoy the planning experience. Blackstone truly lived up to their reputation. I would hire them for another function of mine again in a heartbeat.

If I could give this caterer more stars, I absolutely would. Their service is impeccable, their kindness and warmth is amazing, and their food... just wow. Shannon Driscoll was the most helpful and amazing coordinator I could ever ask for. I don't even have words enough to explain how grateful I am to her and her staff! My guests adored the food and thought it was elegant, creative, and of course very tasty! Highly recommend!
