We could not recommend Black Tie Optional and our incredible wedding planner Jenny Weber more!
We opted for full-service wedding planning, and it truly made all the difference. Not only did they us make our wedding sparkle with a detailed approach to aesthetics, but everything—from timing to the overall guest experience—ran seamlessly.
From the beginning, Jenny immediately got the vibe we were going for. She translated that vision into a design that absolutely nailed what we had imagined. She recommended absolutely incredible vendors we would not have found on our own. Even when we had requests that were a bit unconventional (like getting In-N-Out Burger delivered to our venue), it was never treated as a question of if it was possible—only how the team would make it happen.
I came in with a very specific vision and Jenny never tried to get us to waver from our 'must haves' and our overall vision, but she found ways to enhance our ideas and a way to laugh when even sometimes we would be in disagreement with each other.
Jenny was also fantastic when it came to budgeting. She walked us through different options with clear low, medium, and high price points, and was candid about what certain elements realistically cost and how those decisions could impact the rest of the budget.
We were initially a bit nervous about the percentage-based planning fee, but at no point did we feel like anything was being pushed on us to increase costs. In fact, it felt like the opposite—the team consistently helped us stay on budget and make thoughtful choices.
The team was incredible on the wedding day itself. When we realized we might run low on alcohol, they quickly ran out to get more without us needing to worry. Jenny had texts with our bridal party to keep us out of the stress. They even packed up my parents’ car at the end of the night and had it thoughtfully organized so everything made it home safely and was easy to access. They even followed us at photos with food & drink to make sure we were well fed (and not just for a moment but throughout that hour).
They were also incredibly strategic and detail-oriented. For example, they helped us reuse certain flower arrangements upwards of 3x throughout the day and would catch small logistical details (like noticing when a charger plate wouldn’t fit properly on a specific table) that we never would have known to think about. Or even service notes when we were being overly ambitious about fitting both wine and champagne service into too condensed of a timeline.
Finally, the Aisle Planner platform kept us organized throughout the entire process with helpful reminders, and Jenny helped break everything down into manageable pieces so the planning never felt overwhelming.
Overall, working with Jenny and the Black Tie Optional team made the entire experience not only smooth but genuinely enjoyable. In the post wedding blues I was truly sad we weren't going to have our monthly calls with Jenny anymore. We are so grateful to Jenny and the team for bringing the best day of our lives to life. Besides getting married, this was the best decision we made as it relates to our wedding. -

After we got engaged, we decided to have a destination wedding in Scottsdale, AZ. Since we live in Austin Texas, we knew we needed a wedding planner to help plan our events, including a Friday welcome reception, the wedding ceremony and reception, and Sunday send-off brunch. From the moment we first talked to Jenny Weber with Black Tie Optional, we knew she was the one we had to hire!
After just a half hour of talking, Jenny saw our vision and helped us to start turning it into something special. Jenny kept us organized, on track and focused on what was important during our year of planning. But most importantly, she listened to us express our goals and expectations and guided us to a spectacular weekend of events for our guests. Her creativity and imagination helped transform our visions into a magnificent reality!
Especially important was Jenny’s connection with the best vendors in Phoenix. We told her we preferred working with local vendors, and in particular sought people who were highly creative and artistic. Oh wow, did she deliver - from our masterful DJ, DJTREGO, to our photographer Ashley Guice and videographers Cactus & Vine, to our printed goods designed by Copper Cactus, to our brilliant florist Carte Blanche, and all the companies who provided furniture and equipment! They were all so delightful to work with, and everyone exceeded our expectations and delivered amazingly creative and fun events.
As we approached the wedding date, Jenny pulled in the rest of the BTO team to keep everything on track. That’s when we got to know Madison, Tatum and Amber! From coordinating vendors, to stuffing welcome bags and managing a last-minute venue problem, Jenny and the BTO team handled everything very calmly and efficiently. On our wedding day, Jenny kept everything on time and moving smoothly. She even had one of her team members FaceTime our ceremony with a beloved family member who was unable to attend due to a health issue.
Today, we look back on our wedding weekend as the best time of our lives. Jenny and the BTO team were invaluable in helping us transform our dreams into reality! -

Chelsea and the whole BTO team were such a dream to work with. From our very first meeting, it was clear that they stand apart from other wedding planners, making it very easy to choose them after that first interaction. They were uniquely focused on getting to know US as a couple first and foremost, really understanding our vision, and then discussing the logistics, cost, etc of working together. We appreciated how patiently and diligently they confirmed what we wanted, making no assumptions or generalizations. They were organized and clear, great proactive communicators, and always brought a positive, solution-oriented energy every step through the process. They PERFECTLY captured the vibe we were going for, while making helpful suggestions along the way to amplify it even more than we could have envisioned. My favorite compliment after our wedding was that it felt "so us". I credit Chelsea and team for going the extra mile to bring in personal details like nods to our Italian culture in the design, our shared love of books with a custom book wall, and thinking outside the box to transform our ballroom space with drapery in a way I had never seen before. I felt entirely calm and peaceful on the day of the wedding knowing that every detail was handled- and any bride would tell you that feeling is priceless. There were multiple times I opted for a "white glove add-on" for help assembling my bridesmaids boxes, sending out invites, designing signage, etc and I always felt that those add-ons were well worth the investment for the level of service and attention to detail I received. They truly put their all into every little thing! I cannot recommend BTO enough, especially for a busy bride that wants their wedding to feel really unique and personalized. Thank you BTO! -

Don’t think twice when deciding if you need a planner for your wedding or not – you do + it’s BTO.
BTO was recommended to us by our wedding venue, because I had already decided on a lot of the big things needed for the wedding, but I knew I was still going to need plenty of extra help. I was interested in talking with them because they offered different packages for planning, which many other planners didn’t offer and from the very first time I reached out, I knew we were in great hands. We got a response within minutes and were paired with a planner just a few days later to see if it was the right fit—which it absolutely was! Every step of the way, the team was incredibly helpful, kind, and patient in answering all our questions and making sure we felt supported.
The owner, Chelsea, was the first to call and she was such a bright light throughout the process. She personally took time to walk us through things we weren’t sure about towards the end and ensured we never felt overwhelmed or lost.
We worked mostly with Jenny who was beyond amazing to work with!!!! As someone planning from out of state, we live in Georgia and were planning our wedding in Arizona, the support we received was priceless. We could reach out on the website, call, send a text, or email and Jenny always tried to work around time zone differences and always made time for calls and updates. When Jenny stepped in and took care of a vendor we couldn’t get in touch with—we didn’t even have to worry about it. It was handled so smoothly and quietly that it gave us peace of mind without any added stress. Might I add, that they were essential in getting final details figured out for the wedding. She held the vendors accountable for the things stated and signed in our contracts, and made sure that we were getting everything that was agreed to. Through every detail, she made us feel completely confident and taken care of—like you had our backs no matter what. She was prepared when the wind wasn’t settling if we needed to go inside and stayed on top of any changes that were lined up to happen, but we were lucky to be able to eat outside! Having a backup/contingency plan is worth it knowing that they are on top of all weather changes.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was how seamlessly everything flowed—from the ceremony to the reception, everything transitioned so smoothly that we truly got to be present for every part of it. We weren’t watching the clock or worrying about what came next because the Black Tie Optional team had it all under control. The team kept everything organized and running on time, handled communication with vendors, and always made us feel like we were in the best hands. We didn’t have to worry about a single detail the day of—and that’s the biggest gift you can give to a couple on their wedding day.
Getting to work with Jenny in person was so special, and we truly couldn’t have imagined our day without her and this team behind it. 12/10 would recommend working with BTO for your wedding. If you’re looking for planners who are not only organized and talented but also deeply kind and invested in making your day perfect, look no further. They are amazing. It’s hard to put into words how incredible their help was and to thank the team enough for everything they did.

We had the pleasure of working with Jenny from Black Tie Optional as our wedding planner, and she was absolutely amazing! From the very beginning, Jenny was incredibly knowledgeable and thought of everything. Her expertise and attention to detail made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free.
I got married at the Icehouse and having a planner is required for a wedding there. BTO was one of the first vendors I booked. I was deciding between them and someone more affordable, but I am so glad I spent the money on BTO. They were BEYOND my expectations and worth every penny.
Jenny was so easy to work with and always made us feel comfortable and confident in our decisions. She communicated everything clearly and promptly, ensuring that we were always in the loop and that no detail was overlooked. Her organizational skills and proactive approach were truly impressive.

Chelsea and Black Tie Optional gave my husband and I the wedding day of our dreams! My relationship with Chelsea is unique because I have known her for over a decade when we met and became friends when I was living in Arizona. I always knew Chelsea to be a go-getter with incredible drive and skill at whatever she put her mind to, so when I got engaged, I quickly reached out. My pitch to her was also unique because we planned on getting married in the mountains of our home state of West Virginia, far away from Chelsea's wheelhouse in the Southwest. Always up for a challenge, Chelsea enthusiastically agreed to be our planner and navigate a whole new region of the country where we would mostly be working with vendors she had never met before.
I wasn't the slightest bit surprised to find that Chelsea was extremely knowledgeable with a wealth of useful resources at hand even without a local network of her preferred vendors to pull from. For example, Chelsea has created an absolute masterpiece for all aspects of planning - including budgeting, design, contact databases for vendors, and loads of resources for various elements of guest tracking - in the Aisle Planner system. I utilized this system thoroughly, and any time I had a question or issue, Chelsea was quick to guide me through my needs. As an incredibly hands-on bride, I opted for a partial planning package because I love being the decision maker and "driving the car, while BTO is the GPS" as Chelsea would say. We were a planning dream team! I eagerly looked forward to each of our planning calls. Even though we are personal friends, Chelsea was always incredibly professional, and she was the kind and encouraging person I already knew her to be.
Even though I was a West Virginia bride, I shared with Chelsea that I really wanted highly customized invitations and was having trouble finding someone in the local market who was creating the types of designs I was looking for. Chelsea was able to match me with a wonderfully skilled stationer who actually ended up being my favorite vendor we selected while planning! We ended up working so well together, we had her design all of our day of paper products and even had her design custom thank you cards after the wedding. I can only imagine how wonderful it would have been to have been able to have been an Arizona bride receiving all of Chelsea's wonderful vendor recommendations for various elements of our wedding. She is incredibly well connected and is a master at vendor relationship management.
When wedding weekend rolled around, we had a blast setting up together, and she pulled off a very productive rehearsal. Our wedding day, of course, was full of her positivity and perfect direction. While I thrive on being the boss, someone else needed to steer the ship that day, and Chelsea did so with ease. People will tell you that multiple things will always go wrong on your wedding day, but NOTHING went amiss at ours. It was truly perfectly planned. She also made me feel like I was the only bride in the world, the most special person to ever live, and she is the ULTIMATE hype woman. You want her cheering you on. You can FEEL her positive energy. Even if you are a super planner like me, you would be doing yourself an incredible favor by hiring Chelsea and her team. BTO is unmatched; there is a reason they are the best. We would choose her over and over again and can't thank her enough. -

As a Canadian bride getting married in Arizona and planning a destination wedding from a far, finding a planner I clicked with was really important. I spent hours researching, and after my first call with BTO I knew it was the perfect fit I was looking for. I cannot say enough amazing things about this team. From their attention to detail, to their kindness, expertise and amazing organization, I truly felt like I was planning my dream wedding with a friend. From Day 1, they made what could've been a very stressful experience so fun, and dare I say "easy"! On wedding day, they truly helped me execute my "vision" to perfection. Their entire team ended up coming on site, and I truly couldn't have done it without them. I didn't lift a finger all day, and they truly made the experience everything I'd hoped for and more. Wedding wishes do come true!!

My husband and I can’t even put into words how amazing Chelsea, Cameron and Jenny were in planning and coordinating our wedding. The Black Tie Optional team strived to blow us all away on our special day. She was the first person we booked after getting engaged to kick start our wedding planning process (which was two years in the making) and we could not be more thankful for them.
When thinking about booking a planner for a wedding so many things come into your mind, and if you’re thinking about it, your answer needs to be YES BUT ONLY BLACK TIE OPTIONAL!!! It was an honor to have them plan our day, the detail, support and coordination that this team specializes in is one of a kind.
Looking back on our day, I feel such an immense gratitude that they could handle all the details of the day so that way we could soak up every moment with each other and our guests. After all this day is about you and your partner. Black Tie Optional gave us the ability to be fully present in our day. Allow them to do the same for you.

Chelsea is AMAZING!
I do not even know where to start. Chelsea did such an amazing job with our wedding. We opted for the partial planning option because I wanted to play a big role in the planning process and Chelsea was still right there with me every step of the way. The Aisle Planner website, budget tool and checklist, I would not trade for the world, it made everything so seamlessly easy, not only for making sure we were not forgetting anything, but also keeping all of the necessary information in one place that was accessible by Chelsea, myself and the groom. We also connected with the majority of our vendors from her preferred vendor list, including our DJ, the favorite of the night. From the beginning Chelsea gave informed and sound advice, allowing me to ask questions, but never once bulldozing me into making decisions that did not reflect who we are, that takes a truly special skill. On wedding weekend, Chelsea did an amazing job of communicating with everyone, doing a great job of traversing our family dynamics and wrangling in a very large wedding party. Wedding day ended up being about 15 degrees warmer than what had been reported just a couple days prior on all of the weather apps, and with my hair extensions, veil, boots, shapewear and wedding dress, I overheated, quickly. Even though I tried to keep it together and not let many people know that I was struggling, Chelsea saw right through it and came to my rescue with a cold towel, draped it over my shoulders and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. I made it down the aisle on time (I am a stickler for time) happy and as cool as a cucumber.
At the very beginning of the wedding planning process, I was adamant that I plan the wedding myself, I am so glad my fiancé pushed for a wedding planner and so grateful we chose Chelsea, I wouldn't trade her or all of her expertise and skill for the world.Black Tie Optional's reply:

I cannot recommend Chelsea and the Black Tie Optional team enough! From our initial consultation to the big day itself, she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day unforgettable.
Chelsea was always available to answer our questions and offer her expert advice throughout the planning process. She helped us navigate everything from choosing the perfect venue (The Paseo) to selecting the best vendors, and she was always there to calm our nerves and reassure us that everything would be perfect.
On our wedding day, Chelsea truly shined. She ensured that everything ran smoothly, from coordinating with the vendors to managing the timeline. Absolutely Amazing Experience
From the moment we met Chelsea, she immediately put us at ease. To say that she goes above and beyond is an understatement. She was knowledgeable, connected us with all the right people, advocated for us, and kept us in the loop through every process. I cannot stress enough how seamless she made the whole planning and especially the wedding day.
Considering the fact that we were planning our wedding from across the country, had never seen our venue in person, and we had a lot of DYI elements, communication and transparency were so important.
On the day of wedding, Chelsea made sure everything went perfectly. From making sure that our wedding party was all on the same page, dealing with all vendors (no small task!), and keeping any hiccups (as there are prone to be some on such an important day) away from us so we could be fully immersed in the joy.
Not only is Chelsea incredibly resourceful, an absolute expert in her field, but she is also so kind and loves what she does. This is shown in every single step, and with how amazing the day turned out. On top of all of this, she is just so sweet and nice, and genuinely is the kind of person you would want in your life.
I would recommend Chelsea and her team to anyone and everyone, and I can personally say that it was an honor and privilege to work with such an amazing person.Black Tie Optional's reply:

12/10 definitely recommend
I would NOT have survived this wedding planning process without Chelsea. Planning a wedding itself is a major task, let alone an out of state wedding with 200 people after moving across the country & starting new jobs. To say we were stressed, is an understatement, and Chelsea was patient and helped us through it every step of the way.
As someone who knows what they like, but is incapable of making decisions & who has ZERO visionary skills, I had to put my complete trust into Chelsea on her judgement, and she DID NOT disappoint.
I could not have dreamed of a more perfect wedding. And I know people say that, but truly, I had real tears coming down my face walking into the venue to see how it all came to life. No question, it would not have been possible without Chels.

Chelsea and BTO events were fantastic! When we began our wedding planning journey my bride and I were at odds over whether or not we should have a wedding planner. She wanted one, I did not think it was necessary. Well, I finally gave in and guys let me tell you. I would have lost my mind without having Chelsea and her team to help us through the difficulties of planning a wedding. It was so worth it.
Chelsea has multiple packages to pick from to help you however you feel you need.
She makes a very stressful time much less stressful and provided reassurance on multiple occasions that everything was going smoothly and our day would be exactly the way we wanted it to be. She met with us monthly to go over our schedule and budget and to make sure we were on schedule with getting all of our vendors in order.
On the day of she was present for anything we needed and went out of her way to add an extra touch. She is truly in love with her craft and strives to make sure you are content in every way. Chelsea really does operate with a heart of service for her brides and grooms. We couldn’t have pulled off everything we did without her and thank her from the bottom of our hearts.

Chelsea and her team (Hi, Cam!) are ROCKSTARS! I found her on instagram and the moment we spoke we connected. She was so easy to talk to and was exactly what I was looking for to help make my wedding vision come to life. We used BTO for month of coordination and during that time they created our timeline, were on top of coordinating everything with our vendors, ran our rehearsal and SERIOUSLY made sure that my vision on paper was exactly what came to life with all my vendors. I never worried about a single thing. The moment I saw everything I burst into happy tears. ALSO shoutout to them for getting In N and Out Burger for us to close out the night. I’m so sad that our time together has come to an end, but highly encourage every couple to work with them. Our family is still raving about BTO 2 weeks later haha. WE LOVE THEM! -

We decided to hire Chelsea to be our day (month)-of-coordinator relatively last minute and she turned out to be the BEST investment we made for the whole wedding. Making the choice to hire BTO felt like it protected the rest of money we spent on our wedding; it meant we could actually RELAX and enjoy our day (the most expensive party of our lives!). Chelsea has the MOST WONDERFUL vibe and made us feel so supported and so special. She felt like part of the family. In fact, our friends, family, and other vendors all mentioned how wonderful she was. Her advice, her help in asking the right questions to finalize our planning, her *incredible* attitude on the day, her troubleshooting when something went wrong (which she didn't burden us with)... It was all priceless and we are SOOO grateful for this woman. Can't recommend Chelsea and Black Tie Optional Events enough! -

Chelsea is the BEST and highly recommend her. We found her at the later stage, which was two weeks before our wedding day as a day coordinator while we’re still working on many things from California for our wedding in Arizona and she was really amazing not only walking us through all the things we should think about and prepare but also calming me with positive energy. On our wedding date, there were missing instructions from my side , however she not only did her best to find a way to make our wedding beautiful from her own experience and expertise proactively but also went to our wedding party to get advice and ideas to avoid making me worried. She is really smart, wise, professional, considerate and full of positive energy!! :) I can’t describe how great she was and I and my husband still talk about her a lot that we were so lucky to find her.Black Tie Optional's reply:

I had my doubts...
Chelsea was a bride who's wedding I shot back in May of last year (wedding video) and she was talking about how she wanted to have a wedding coordinating business. Cute idea, but I know how excited brides can get with all the fanfare of their wedding and once they realize how much work it is...well, game over.
However Chelsea's passion for weddings stuck! I got to shoot a wedding with her up in Sedona, AZ at the Sky Lodge and it was STUNNING.
It was SO WINDY...Chelsea had a plan of action for getting things tucked away until the last second so everything didn't blow over and get ruined.
There were some curve balls (as there always are with weddings) and she handled them with grace, positivity, and drive to get it figured out.
Everything about the wedding was so on-brand (very celestial/desert wedding) down to small table details
Definitely have her coordinate and plan your wedding!

Chelsea was awesome to work with. She was so thoughtful and thorough leading up to our wedding day. She took the time to get to know us and had plenty of ideas to make our event unique to us. As a fairly organized and DIY couple, we didn't think we needed a coordinator at first. But we made the right choice in the end and lucked out big time! Chelsea took so much off our plates leading up to our wedding day and ensured everything we had envisioned for the day ran smoothly.
