Black Tie Formalwear is the best!!!! It has taken me too long to write this but I am still as pleased with their service as the day of our wedding. My husband and I wanted blue/navy tuxedo's and they were more difficult to find. We went to a few places and Black Tie Formalwear had the best customer service and best price. They were so accommodating and helpful with all our questions and provided great advice. My husband even got a free suit included in the Tuxedo rental. The management team also saved us on a last minute black tie function and my husband was able to rent a tux the same day. We will always recommend this business and use them for any future rentals.

We went to the Schaumburg location but the groomsmen could pick up the tux at any of their locations.

So glad we chose Black Tie Formalwear!

We used blacktie formal in Orland Park for our mens attire and to help order our invitations.

I was extremely happy with the service they provided, worked with us for our men who were located out of town and last minute we added my very tall brother to the line up - hes 6”6 with size 16 feet and they were able to get him a matching suit within one week of our ceremony!

Definitely recommend blacktie for those who need tuxes.

I emailed Black Tie inquiring about renting tux for my 11 your old. I received a reply immediately from Sarah. She looked up the wedding parties attire, gave me options and pricing and followed up when she didn't hear back from me within a certain time frame.
Fitting and pick up was a piece of cake. Definitely recommend this place.

From the moment we walked in, Sarah from the West Dundee location, welcomed us and had such a warm and friendly personality!!!
Sarah thoroughly answered all our questions and set up the necessary details for our rental reservation for our July 2017 wedding. Sarah followed up with reminded emails and information and made the fittings a breeze and without stress. My husband and our son were measured accurately and their tuxedos fit absolutely perfect on wedding day!!
Our son was absolutely ecstatic about how much he loves his tuxedo!!
My husband rented a navy tuxedo and my son rented a black tuxedo.
Sarah was kind and sent a follow-up email after our wedding. Her communication and accuracy is superior!!
The West Dundee location was very clean and organized. Our tuxedos were ready and pickup and drop off was smooth!

We had such a great experience using Black Tie! We knew right away that we wanted charcoal grey tuxes for the guys. After going to a different name brand tux shop first, we were a little disappointed that they only had one option in that color and it was over $200 per guy. We decided to try Black Tie and are so grateful that we did! They had over 5 options in charcoal grey and the cost was significantly less. It was so easy for the guys to get fitted, even for our 3 groomsmen who live out of the state. They were able to stop in any tux store where they lived and just had to input their measurements online. I also loved being able to track which groomsmen still needed to be fitted in the Wedding Manager on their website. Pickup was easy and all of the tuxes turned out perfectly. We would highly recommend Black Tie!

We have nothing but great things to say about Black Tie Formalwear! We had used them for our groomsmen tuxes this past June and the guys all looked amazing! My husband had 10 groomsmen with most of them being out of town which was not an issue at all. We had gone to the Chicago location, where we picked out which suits and shoes we wanted the guys to wear. It was an easy process and they had a whole collection of great looking tuxes in the store to choose from. The tuxes are also a great value given the very nice quality. We were given the information to give to the guys so they can get their measurements sent in via an online form. My husband and I also had a wedding manager login to view status on the guys getting their measurements in. The men were able to pick up their tuxes at a Black Tie Formalwear Location of their choice around the Chicago area which was very convenient and a definite plus. On our wedding day, all the guys looked really great and their tuxes fit perfectly! Thank you to Gerry, and the rest of the Black Tie Formalwear staff! We definitely recommend them for your Groomsmen Tux needs!

Ken at Black Tie in Orland Park made this process so easy!! My husband, our dads, and the groomsmen looked incredible. Their prices are super competitive (if you register your email on their website, you'll get amazing offers sent to you). They were so nice every time we went into the shop to ask questions and look at different color/style combos. Measurements were pretty much perfection when everyone picked their tuxes up. One of our groomsmen needed a quick fix on his pant length and they were super quick and accommodating. The return process was also very easy! Would definitely recommend! Thank you Black Tie for everything!!!!

Sarah at the West Dundee location is great! I've worked in the bridal business for years but always on the bridal side so when it came to menswear I was completely lost. She was so knowledgeable and helpful in picking out exactly what we wanted. Pricing was way better than any of the other places we visited prior to Black Tie. She helped make the picture in my head happen and everything turned out perfect! Would highly recommend her to anyone getting married!!

We worked with Kyle at the Clybourn location and he was wonderful! We knew we wanted light grey, but weren't sure whether to go with suits or tuxedos.

Per Kyle's suggestion, we went with the slim fit tux and the guys looked amazing!! Black Tie was so easy to work with and had great quality rentals.

We would definitely recommend them!

Rented a tux for our wedding. They have a good basic selection, and prices were lower than another vendor we were considering. Customer service was also better. Pick-up and drop-off were seamless.

The Black Tie in Joliet/Plainfield has been amazing so far. They listen to my ideas and answer any questions I have. We received half off all tuxes, and the groom not only received his tux for free but also received a free suit! Everything has gone smoothly.

I was recommended Black Tie in Lincoln park by a coworker and it was the best decision I ever made. Their customer service is amazing. They made looking for a tux enjoyable and painless. The workers are so friendly and willing to help and answer ANY questions we had. They even gave tux and tie color recommendations. They have AMAZING deals, such as rent one tux get one free and half off save the dates and invitations if we booked with them. I am extremely happy we went with Black Tie Lincoln Park for our tuxes. I have recommended them to so many of my engaged friends already and will continue to!

We worked with Tom and Kyle to get our tuxes for our wedding and they were great. We did an Ike Behar Navy tux and it was SO slick, they guys all looked great. When we first selected the tux it wasn't available, so they were great about letting us come in and have fiance (now husband!) try it on. They run a regular promotion that is rent one get one free, so I think we got a good deal. The promotion also included a free suit for my husband. We didn't have any issue with the tuxes fitting or missing pieces. (They included everything from the shoes up.) They also offer a tux pick up service for $50, so the guys just left their tuxes at the front desk of our hotel and we didn't have to worry about going back to the store to drop them off. (Great for out of town groomsmen)

We had 8 groomsmen, 2 ushers, and 3 fathers, not to mention the Groom, all with different colored vests and ties, all coming from Denver and Chicago. Black tie allowed the guys to enter their measurements online and we could see on our account who had/had not submitted the measurements. Their prices were fantastic! They had a rent one, get one free sale that saved us TONS!! All the tuxes were correct when we picked them up, amazingly, and they guys looked so good, especially my husband! They even made drop off easy. We really enjoyed working with them.

The service with this company was amazing! We worked with Kyle, who was incredibly personable and even delivered an item the day of the wedding to ensure our special day was absolutely perfect. The groom, groomsmen, fathers, and ring bearer looked incredibly dapper in their well tailored tuxes. Additionally, we used this company for our wedding invitations, which turned out beautiful and we received multiple compliments on them from guests. We highly recommend this company!

I went to the Glen Ellyn, IL location. They were amazing! Worked well with our schedule. Tuxes came in early for pickup before our wedding. They were exactly as ordered and fit perfectly. They were extremely flexible for the return days after the wedding. I would recommend them for all tux rentals and weddings.

I was a groomsman and my 12 year old son was an usher for my sister's wedding. All of the others picked up their tuxedos at the Schaumburg location but we were able to use the more convenient Glen Ellyn location. The visits to measure were very quick. When we went for the pick up we probably didn't allow enough time before closing that evening. When we found my son's sleeves were too long, they quickly made the alterations while we waited and were not worried about staying after closing time to make sure everything was right for us. Upon returning the rentals, they were very interested to hear how everything went and were very complimentary about how my son looked when he tried on the tux.

We used Black Tie Formalwear (Lincoln Park location) for both the groomsmen tuxes and our wedding invitations. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! Their staff is so incredibly friendly and polite. They are very helpful on the phone or via e-mail. We easily picked out our tuxes with their help and we got a great Black Friday deal on them! We also selected to purchase our invitations through them because they gave us a great deal! Our invitations were a little bit of a headache due to my crazy vision (I pieced together parts of invitations from 3 different companies) and the staff at Black Tie Formalwear worked with me the entire time to get me exactly what I wanted. WIth one of the companies, they kept making mistakes on the proofs and Kyle at Black Tie was so helpful making tons of phone calls to them to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The invitation company even sent us ½ our invitations in the wrong color so Kyle was on the phone immediately and made sure the company express shipped the correct invitations. It was great having them on my side and helping me along with this process because I’m sure I would have lost my mind without them. I hands down recommend this company for their professionalism, kindness, and quality of service!

Black Tie Formalwear has been amazing to work with! We rented our tuxedo's from their location in Joliet, Illinois which is also known as Kozak's. They were very pleasant, helpful, and gave great tips on many wedding aspects, not just the tuxes. When you go through Black Tie Formalwear, you get 50% off their wedding invites and yet another discount on gifts for the wedding party. I had a wedding nightmare come true- I accidentally ordered my wedding invites with the wrong start time for the ceremony (yes, I know, stupid me!). I immediately contacted them and they were able to ship out new wedding invites in 2 business days! They also still applied the 50% percent off discount! They are personal when you talk with them, it feels like a friend or family member. Highly recommended!

The Glen Ellyn location is right down the street from us, but I actually made an appointment because of a bridal expo that I attended. They had an offer for a $50 restaurant gift card if you honored your appointment, so I figured we would go check it out since we hadn't begun our tux search yet. We worked with Karen and she was great. She took the jackets off the mannequins and switched up the vests and ties until we found something we liked. We went to Men's Wearhouse in Lombard and they didn't give us nearly as great of service as Karen provided.

We went into Black Tie Formalwear looking for tuxedos based on all the great feedback we have heard and actually came out with gorgeous suits! We were pleased that that had so many options for us to choose from. I had a very hard bridesmaids dress color and we just couldn’t seem to match it so the staff made a recommendation to try a suit and it coordinated so well with the dresses. Our wedding party needed 14 suits and only 3 guys were from Chicago, this made me a little nervous but Black Tie pulled everything off with no issues and even had the suits ready weeks prior to the wedding incase there were any alterations needed. It was the easiest thing we could have ever done! We are still getting compliments on the way the suits looked and best of all their prices were lower and the quality better than the other suit companies we looked at.

Rented just a vest for myself and a couple kids' vests; no full tuxes, but i did buy a black suit from them as well. Regardless or our small order, the staff was very helpful and made sure we were getting was we wanted. Highly recommended.

Ken was so accommodating to our group. We got married in Las Vegas and we are having a reception at home. They were the best priced by FAR for two rentals and helped us out with everyone needing to return from Vegas at different times. They were awesome!! My husband and I had a bad experiences at other tux places. However, we were recommended to try Black Tie Formalwear by a few friends who had great experiences with them. We were so happy we did. They were professional and really respected our time. They gave us the full attention we wanted and needed to find my groom the perfect tux. He looked amazing on the day of the wedding! All the groomsmen and ringbears too!!! The representative was so knowledgable of fabrics, pricing, colors, etc... i felt completely comfortable that the tux we picked would be perfect! They had so many colors, styles, locations and options... we couldn't be happier! They were the best!!!! :)

I could not say enough good words about Black Tie. We used this vendor for our wedding invitations and for the guy’s tux’s. They were so helpful with trying to match up the colors for the groomsmen to match the bridesmaid dresses. They had so many color and options to pick from so we got exactly what he wanted, which was so nice to not be limited. The groom, groomsmen, fathers of the bride and groom looked so nice. They were so flexible and helpful to work with us. The wedding invitations came out perfect. We had one little error with the response cards and it was fixed with no problems and I received the new ones a few days later. They were helpful with the wording of the invitations to make it perfect. It was so nice to work with such nice people.

black tie formal wear was awesome for our groomens the helped so much and was so understand, our guys wore black on black with a clover green vest and tie it was so elegant. they were so understanding due to the fact that some of our guys forgot to turn in the suit and was a week late and they were not charged which was very nice of them. i was really satisfied with this vendor thank you

Black tie in south holland was the best! The level of service was above and beyond the expected level. I have used black tie for many years and they have never let me down. I will always continue to use them and recommend them to every person in the market for this kind of service..... Ask for Ray! He helped make the best selection for myself as well as the wedding party! He even called me on my wedding day to make sure all was well and told me that he would be on his way to the wedding site if i needed a last minute alteration or had some type of unforeseen tuxedo emergency. Best service ever!

We only had 3 local members of our 8-person wedding party, and Black Tie made it so easy for our guys to get in their measurements. We paid for the our groomsmens' wedding attire, and Black Tie was a very reasonable option. The guys looked absolutely handsome (only the bride looked better), and they even mentioned that the shoes were comfortable. We'd highly recommend Black Tie Formalwear.

We rented all the tuxedoes for the groomsmen and the groom from Black Tie formalwear and we were very happy with their services. Since we rented 4 groomsmen tuxes, the groom's tux was free and we had a package where our invitations were 50% off which was a great deal. The people there were very friendly and professional and we were happy with their services.

Another great experience here. When we walked in the door, Bob was super friendly and very helpful to us. There was a basketball game going on and we were offered refreshments (*cough* beer *cough*) which really won us over while we browsed and his personable attitude was very welcoming in addition to their amazing prices. At the bridal expo that I attended, what I liked about their vendors was that they weren't pushy at all and some places were requesting a deposit to be put down that day to hold a discount. Black Tie wasn't like that at all. When we asked Bob about that - he said that this is a family run business. He was very helpful and even had my fiance try on some tuxes so he could get a better feel of what he'd like and want.

Not only were the prices really affordable, but after every four tuxes rented, we got one free which was a real steal. We were discussing between ourselves if we wanted to give away free tuxes or just lower everyone else's prices to make it more fair.

Also, I was looking to make accesories for the bridesmaids to match with the groomsmen's vests and Bob went ahead and loaned me a bow tie so I could use that as a sample when looking for fabric and color.

On top of that, if you place a rental order of four or more tuxes, you get a deal on their stationary - 50% off of their invitations, reception, response, and informal thank you's. You really cannot top that - such a great deal! We also go this extra complimentary package for two free airline tickets but the kicker is that you have to stay x amount of nights at particular hotels. Their website is useful for out of town guests that will need to rent a tux - they have a spot where you can submit your measurements online. Great service, products, plus excellent customer service = 5 star rating!

Got married February of this year 2018. I must have called about 5-6 different places just looking for pricing and availability, all of them being over the top or strict appt times. Black Tie gave myself nor my groomsmen no hassles!! Work with us from start to finish to assure everything was perfect. Due to our wedding being at the beginning of Religious Lent we work with Black Tie on being able to pick up all tuxes 3 days before instead of 2 days! When it came to all measurements minor adjustments needed to be made (we are human nothing is perfect) which were made on the spot with out needing to panic!! Our over all experience was great and I will with out a doubt be back in the future for any special occasion needs! Thank you Black Tie Glen Ellyn!!!!

Our wedding party looked SHARP! I've had several issues in the past standing up in weddings and picking up the tux. Lots of last minute issues where you have to wait and get things done right. Not these guys, atleast not with me. Everything was flawless and we looked great.

The men looked great in their tuxedos! One bow tie was broken, but other than that no issues. You could send your mesurments via internet for out of towns people and that worked out perfectly. We were able to change the colors a month before the event. Great company!

They had the best prices, and the best service for my husbands tuxedo and the tuxedos for the other men in my wedding party! They did a great job, had everything done 3 day's early and everything went on without a hitch! Also, my husband got EVERTHING even the upgraded package for free! They really do mean free when they say the groom get's his tuxedo free. So, go with them their tuxes are amazing and the selections are great. Also, you can send in your measurements from anywhere in the US on their website, so it worked out so well for all of the groomsmen and family from out of town to get their tuxes ordered! LOVE black tie!

A co-worker recommended BT on Clybourn for slim fit tux rentals, and we first tried them out 10 months before our wedding for a gala event. My fiance was helped by Kyle, who was amazing and took care of us. We liked them so much, we went with them for our full wedding party tux rentals and my fiance purchased a tux from them as well. We came back on several occasions to try on the tuxes, get guys measured, get the groom's tux ordered, get alterations on the groom's tux, and to pick-up rentals and do final fittings the day before the wedding. Tom helped us most of the time here and was phenomenal and always on his game. Monique also helped us frequently and she was also fantastic. Our only complaint is regarding service on the date of pick-up. There was a (presumably) new hire blonde guy working who hemmed one groomsman's jacket sleeves different lengths (the groomsman didn't notice at the time and it luckily was a minor difference). The new hire and a brunette woman (I didn't get the name of) also helped my dad when he and I arrived for his pick-up fitting. The new hire hemmed my dad's jacket sleeves way too short, then let them out and redid them wrong again several times. The brunette either failed to notice this or actively didn't care. She grew huffy when my dad asked for less scuffed shoes, and became less helpful the longer we stayed. Eventually she stopped helping us altogether, instead ordering a mani/pedi groupon deal loudly on her phone in the backroom, even while my dad and I were both trying to wave someone over to ask for a different shirt size, to speed things up while the new hire was hemming again. Due to this brunette lady's apathetic/unprofessional behavior and the new hire's mistakes, we were 30 minutes late to my wedding rehearsal, which was stressful. Eventually though, Tom finished with his own customer, stepped in, apologized, and fixed everything. On other occasions service was always wonderful, and everyone looked so amazing at our wedding!!

Black Tie Formalwear was pretty much my only choice besides MW Tux, so I don't think I looked at too many. I went into the chicago store with my buddies, liked the tuxes on display, liked the prices, and liked the staff. It was perfect. Even when a few VIPs didn't get the right ties, I called and we had everything we needed in a day. I doubt MW Tux could have done better.

Black Tie in Naperville killed two birds with one stone for us. We rented our tuxes there and bought our wedding invitations which were given to us at 50% off. It was the best deal out there. The invitations came out beautiful in addition to the Thank You cards. Amanada, who helped us the majority of the time was very cooperative and helpful. She went above and beyond the call of duty to meet our needs.

Black Tie Formalwear did a great job with the tux's. The manager was super helpful, and was very quick to help us with any problems or questions. The tux's were all ready and looked great.

They had a great variety of tux's as well, and although they were more costly I feel that they did a great job preparing them for the big day!

Half off on invitations were the best! Because of them we were able to get super nice invitations for half the cost!

We got each of the men's tuxes from Black Tie. They were really a good fit for us. They had a wonderful selection of colors, types and everything to chose from. We also had a ring bearer and 2 teenagers in the wedding party who were difficult to size and their clothing fit great. We also got a free suit for the groom - it was a great suit! Each of the groomsmen got an extra shirt for free as we got married in the hot hot summer. The value was great. We did have some issues trying to get the tuxedos but at the same time - there were a ton of people trying to do the same thing in a little space. We were very pleased. Thank you!

I Was VeRy Happy To Find Light Colored Suits For My Beach Themed Wedding. The Naperville Store Was Great And My Bridal Party Had No Problems Going There To Get Fitted And Picking Up Their Suits. Several People Complained About The Joliet Store. They Wouldn't Let The Younger Members Get Fitted Until 2 Weeks Before The Wedding. They Drove Over An Hour To Get There, Only To Get Turned Away. I Had To Call The Store And They Still Gave Us Problems. Everyone Got Their Suits And They Were Beautiful, There Was Just Inconsistency Of The Customer Service Between The Two Stores.

I went to the Schaumburg location when initially looking for tuxes and dealt with Amanda who was very easy to work with and helpful. I registered straight away and they followed up with the welcome pack and even a card to thank for the business.
I decided to use the Lincoln Park location for my fitting as it will be closer to my wedding venue. I wanted to run through the tux I'd picked and re-try the pants and Tom, Kyle and Kenny took care of it for me. So far so good. The wedding is in August.

In the end, the tuxes fit well. There were some issues with sizes and an issue with the computer messing up the sizes that were entered. The tux was a little too tight, was told that it was an "athletic" fit. I wish there would have been a little more flexibility with sizes. Overall, it was a decent experience though.

The tuxes we picked were absolutely wonderful. We had the navy Ike Behar suits with navy vest and yellow sunbeam tie. When we initially went to Black Tie, the employee was very helpful! The biggest disappointment is that we had ties picked out, and when many of our groomsmen picked up their tuxes, they had no ties. They gave my husband a bunch of yellow ties to use for the tuxes. While we were flexible and able to use the ties, I thought it was unprofessional that their suits did not come as promised and that we were told this 1-2 days before the wedding. Long story short, great suit, but not the most professional. Also, the suit did not come with socks for the groom or groomsmen.

Black Tie was where we ordered my husband's and other men's tuxedos. They were very helpful with the fittings, and provided pretty good discounts on invitations. The invitations did come with a few issues - the final proofs did not get our approval before they went to print, and we had some typos. Then, the pocket envelopes didn't come in the correct color-- not once, but twice! When we did finally receive the correct color, we were behind our schedule by a week. Black Tie did apologize for the mistake and worked to correct it. This was likely a distributor error and NOT the fault of Black Tie, but people should be aware to order early to avoid mishaps! Other than that, we would order with them again!

The tuxes looked great and everyone was very friendly.

But there were a few things I didn't like. My suit (groom) was measured poorly. My shirt was very long, and the jacket sleeves and pants were very short. The staff fixed this quickly in house and I looked great afterwards. One of my groomsmen had size 34 pants and wore a 31, another groomsmen had to pick up the correct pants from another location. I requested no suspenders or vests, and everyone received suspenders. A saleswoman tried to sell me on adding a vest on the day before the wedding. All of the emails I got from Black tie had the wrong name. Each email was addressed to Nick, and my name is Danny.

Black tie is a cheap rental, so you get what you pay for.

I can't even begin to describe all the problems we had with this place. I should have known when my husband originally went in to place the order for the tuxes and they wanted to change what we had picked out. Then two days before the wedding when the tuxes were picked up just about every single one of them was wrong and my dad even walked out without a tux at all because absolutely nothing fit him. If you don't want a headache before your wedding definitely don't go with them. (After a phone call from a VERY mad bride everything did turn out okay though.)

Overall, Black tie did a good job. The only reason we used them was because we were receiving 50% off of our invitations. But I saw every vendor offered 50% off. The invitation was nice, but if I had to do it over, I probably wouldn't rent from Black Tie again, only because they are not competitive and not very flexible. We had a last minute cancellation and they charged us $40.00 for a cancellation! Why? Surely it doesn't cost $40 to have someone fitted. Not to mention we had an alternate who was measured at a formal wear shop in his town and Black Tie didn't have to do measurements for him, so it all balanced out.

STAY AWAY - run, don't walk.

I cannot in good faith recommend Black Tie Formalwear to anyone. Working with this company was by far the worst experience of the entire wedding. It’s been a month since we got married, and I’m still angry with this company for how they handled everything. Avoid this vendor!

We first went into Black Tie months in advance of the wedding so we could be as prepared as possible. We spoke with a gentleman who did a very good job at selling us on some tuxes. My husband was sized, we selected some colored vests, and we were told we’d receive a phone call within a week to come back and try everything on. After about a week and a half without hearing back from the company, we contacted them for a status update. Whomever we spoke to let us know they couldn’t find any record of us, and would look into it. Another week goes by and we don’t hear from anyone. We call again. We were told there was no record of us ever having been there, whatever paperwork he filled out was missing, and nothing had been ordered. So now three weeks has passed since we first go into the store. This should have been our first red flag and in retrospect we should have never given them the benefit of the doubt, but I know how mistakes can happen. We go back to the store and go through the entire process again. When we made our decision on the tux, we paid for ALL the tux rentals for all groomsmen and our officiant. We paid hundreds of dollars on these tux rentals. When TWO of our groomsmen went to get sized, they were charged for the tuxes we had already paid for… and when we attempted to get a refund for our groomsmen, we were told they had to be present at the location to get a refund. So not only did they charge us twice for two tuxes, they inconvenienced our groomsmen by making them drive out of their way just to get a refund for something they never should have been charged for in the first place. Then one of our groomsmen had a question about shoes, and when I called the company to ask about the shoes they stated he had never been in to get sized. Except my groomsmen had a receipt and a business card from the company showing his order and that he’d been there to be sized. Yet again they lost our paperwork. Luckily we had the sizes on the receipt so we only had to provide the sizes over the phone - but still. Had I not called and asked about shoes, would we even have gotten a tux for the wedding? Fast forward to the wedding. Our officiant was given his tuxedo without a vest and the wrong shoes. Our best man was given a shirt several sizes too small (he had to leave it unbuttoned under his vest the entire night). And my husband’s tuxedo? It didn’t arrive on time. We weren’t able to pick it up until the night before the wedding when it was promised to us several days in advance (and for anyone planning a wedding, last minute stressors like not knowing if you’ll have your husband’s tuxedo for the wedding are NOT FUN).

After all of this? We were offered nothing in way of apology or customer service. No - this didn’t ruin our wedding in any way. We had the perfect night, and in the whole scheme of things a tuxedo is not the end of the world. But wedding planning can be very stressful, and vendors are supposed to make the process less stressful not more. This was a nightmare.

Their prices are competitive and Sue (the manager at the Fox Valley location) did try to do everything she could to fix situations when they went wrong. But it just wasn’t enough.

We had a terrible experience with the Black Tie Formalwear in Irving Park. First, they lost my husband's measurement and we weren't even notified. Luckily, we called them 2 weeks before the wedding and they said "Oh, we lost your measurements. Can you come in again?". What if we never would have called? Then, when we went to pick up the tuxes, only 1 out of 6 fit. One was so bad that the pants hit mid-calf and the jacket went past his finger tips. To give them some credit, they did at least fix all the suits before the wedding, but the whole situation definately added unnecessary stress.

As I post the one star for this review, if I could post less than 1 star, I would. Service at Black Tie Formalwear was terrible from the first day I stepped foot in there. If I could go back and re-do anything with our wedding, the tux rental place would be the only change we would do. It was my husband's request to use Black Tie as his brother used them a couple years prior for his wedding, okay I went along with it. The first appointment we had, the kid helping us had absolutely no knowledge on how to do his job and was so unproductive, we spent 2 hours there for 3 people to get measured. I figured that would have been the one and only issue there but oh no, I thought wrong. Upon arrival of the tuxes for pick-up the Wednesday before the wedding, I do not understand where the disconnect was between the office and the warehouse but every single order that arrived was wrong or defective. Tell me how does this happen 2 days before the wedding for pants to arrive with holes in them, jackets being sent in COMPLETELY different sizes, pants way too long as well as sleeves and the shirts with disgusting stains on the collars. I'm sorry, but if I am paying that much money to RENT a tux for one day, I would at least expect it to fit and be clean. A shirt is not that expensive to replace.... my dad was repulsed to be wearing a shirt that had stains on the collar and I do not blame him. Everyone at the store kept saying oh that's the right size on the jackets when clearly they were too big from what was tried on and what was shipped. It's ridiculous that once bringing the tuxes home, I had to double check each item for holes, again. All in all, the customer service here was shit.... my husband was so humiliated that his groomsmen and father/father-in-law had to deal with these issues, he contacted the store and the regional manager. Amanda, the regional manager was in email contact with him for a while about the issues we had and promised to help by reimbursing the guys that had the issues with their tuxes and then all of a sudden the emails stopped. No reimbursement or even a sorry this happened email. I am SO HAPPY that this company will never get our money or friends' money as I will never recommend this company to anyone. If you want to add extra stress to your wedding planning, use Black Tie .... if you want to not have extra unnecessary stress.. I suggest go anywhere else. Thanks for adding extra stress to my 2 days before my wedding, said no bride ever.

We went to Black Tie Formalwear in West Dundee to get tuxes for our wedding. Their service was excellent.... at first.

My Mom was paying for the tuxes and she called to confirm that she paid for all of them (I was told two of the suits were not paid for yet). She was told different things by different people at the store.

When my Dad went to pick up this tux the day before the wedding, the jacket, vest, and shirt didn't fit. The guy said whoever measured him, measured him wrong because if the pants fit then the shirt, vest, and jacket should fit as well (he came into this same store to get measured). They said they would have a new jacket, shirt, and vest sent from another location, but it would be around 5:00 pm and they would call him when it came in. My Dad expressed concern that he would miss the rehearsal dinner.

After the rehearsal ceremony (approx. 6:30 pm) my Dad called Black Tie Formalwear and sure enough the items were in, however they never called him to tell him the vest was in. My Dad drove out there and got the rest of his tux and fortunately everything fit. After he left he realized they forgot to give him suspenders. Then he drove to the rehearsal dinner (he missed half of a three hour long dinner). We also noticed our best man's tux was dirty and he had to clean it. It looked like someone split something down the front of it, there were red marks on his white tie, and a white stain on the crotch.

When my Dad returned all of the tuxes after the wedding he told the lady what happened and that he missed half of our rehearsal dinner. She said that they would have driven it out to him. This made my Dad extremely mad because he told the guy this earlier.

After several calls and emails to the store and the manager we finally got the charges for one tux refund. We will never use them again or encourage anyone to use them.

Their slogan is: "Large enough to serve-Strong enough to compete- Small enough to care." It sure does not seem like they care.

DO NOT use them for your wedding!! The manager had to come to my wedding to sew on one of the groomsmen buttons. Plenty of buttons were falling off the men's tuxedos that day. When the groomsmen went in to pick up their tuxedos about half of them didn't fit. This place is awful.
