Magical Beach Wedding

Sheryl & Alexis made my daughter's wedding at the Crescent Beach Club absolutely magical. They worked within our budget and brought her beached theme vision to life with gorgeous flowers, starfish and seashells, as well as an actual fish in a giant wine glass surrounded by the oyster shell place cards. The arch on the beach was beautifully decorated with palm and flowers. The rows of chairs were accented with tulle & giant seashells which tied together the perfect scene. Every detail was stunning. Sheryl & Alexis were so kind, creative and wonderful to work with. We're forever grateful for how beautiful they made her dream wedding come true.

Obsessed with my wedding florals!

I could not have been happier with how my wedding flowers came out! I am not all that knowledgeable about florals myself, so I completely trusted the professionals to make my vision come to life. Black Dahlia came recommended by my venue. I had an initial phone meeting about 10 months before the wedding, where I sent inspiration photos and described my vision. I then had another call the week before the wedding to make some minor updates, but other than that there was very little I needed to do. The day of the wedding, the florals were delivered on time and arranged beautifully and exactly how we discussed. I couldn't stop talking about how much I loved the flowers all night long. Thank you Black Dahlia for your incredible work! I highly recommend them to any bride, especially those who are not too familiar with florals (you can trust the professionals here!!)

Most amazing florist and wedding coordinator!!!

We chose Sonja and Black Dahlia upon our first meeting. Once we met, we knew Sonja and the team at Black Dahlia would help make our daughter’s dream wedding a reality! The flowers were only the beginning of what Sonja did for us. ( Believe me they were incredible) Her wedding coordinator service was over the top! My husband initially did not feel this was a service we needed, after the wedding he commented that was some of the best money spent! Sonja helped us finalize things with other vendors, handle tip money, help organize day of activities and addressed any issues that arose. Thank goodness her assistant was a seamstress that fixed a bridesmaids gown that wouldn’t zipper! I do need to mention flowers as I am uploading pictures. They were over the top! She transformed The Mansion at Oyster Bay into a holiday wonderland!!!

Most amazing experience. We love you Black Dahlia!

I can't put into words the gratitude my husband and I have for Sonja, Mark, and the Black Dahlia team. They made our wedding (plus rehearsal dinner and bridal shower) unbelievably beautiful and SEAMLESS. Sonja is so talented and professional (not to mention extremely hard working and helpful) - the second we walked into Black Dahlia she made us feel comfortable and taken care of. We got married at Oheka Castle in October 2022, and we still receive countless compliments on the floral arrangements from our guests. The flowers were elegant, timeless, and exactly what I was looking for. I was blown away, and even more blown away with how efficient and easy they made the entire planning process -- they took care of everything. Most beautiful wedding flowers

Sheryl and the team at Black Dahlia did such an incredible job with the flowers for our wedding. From the start, we explained our vision and she immediately understood and captured it perfectly. She was sweet and easy to work with and wanted to make us happy. The fall colors and especially the vines covered with flowers on the arbor where we got married were so gorgeous. We absolutely recommend!

Beautiful Flowers

Affordable prices, stunning centerpieces. I know nothing about flowers but provided a mood board with pictures of different arrangements and color scheme, and they made my vision come to life. They were very accommodating with adjustments given our the venue change. Sonya was very helpful with suggestions for our new space. They repurposed some of my ceremony flowers for the reception. I have never really been much of a flower person, but the flowers really added such a beautiful pop of color to our day. Anyone who is looking for another great vendor with KIND people with affordable prices, Black Dahlia is a great option.

Could not be happier!!

Sonja and Black Dahlia were phenomenal to work with for our 5/20/22 wedding! From the moment I first spoke to Sonja over the phone, I knew we had to have them be the florist for our wedding! Extremely detailed and they really brought my vision to life! The flowers, centerpieces and bouquets were STUNNING! They provided 3 unique centerpieces for our wedding ceremony. Wonderful for TWO Weddings

Sonja and the Black Dahlia team are truly wonderful! They provided beautiful flowers for my small, intimate wedding in May 2021 and large wedding in September 2021. For September, they also put up incredible ceiling installations that were a literal dream come true. Highly Recommended Florist

I was totally blown away with the work Black Dahlia did for our April 30, 2021 wedding! For the initial consult, Sonja was on the phone with me for almost an hour discussing each flower that would go into the bouquets and centerpieces and going over my pinterest board. They really helped me stay within my budget, and were flexible with the contracts through covid and all the changing rules. The flowers the day of were perfect and fresh and were exactly what we were looking for!

Brought my vision to life

Sonja was so sweet and helpful from the very first meeting, she even helped me out and put in a word with my venue to allow me to use open flame candelabras I had already purchased. We also had a change last minute when I lost a bridesmaid and Sonja worked with me and was able to use the flowers for other decor so I didn’t have an extra bouquet. Our wedding was beauty and the beast, Disney themed and overrun with beautiful roses from Black Dahlia 🌹

Absolutely Amazing

Black Dahlia was absolutely amazing to work with. After having a troubling experience with a previous florist, I came to Sonja looking for her help less than 2 months before my wedding date, 12.21.19. At our first meeting, I described what I wanted, Sonja went into the back and came out a few minutes later with EXACTLY what I wanted and more. She went above and beyond to make my vision come true. Not only did she help me with my flowers, but she also perfected my place card table and was an overall help with any wedding questions I had. When I saw my flowers for the first time on my wedding day, I could've believe how perfect they really were. Thank you to Black Dahlia for being so wonderful to work with! Wonderful experience, beautiful flowers, great team

Working with Sonja was a delight. She completely got my vision and everything came out perfectly the day of. The entry piece, our bouquets, the table designs, and every other little detail throughout the venue...it was all perfect. Great Experience

I had a wonderful experience with Black Dahlia. Highly recommend them! This florist was included in my package at the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow. Amazing is an understatement!

Black Dahlia completely exceeded mine and my husbands expectations! They truly helped make our day so special and stress-free! From deciding on which greenery and flowers would work best for our winter wedding, to setting up the church and the reception room, and to making our cake look even more beautiful – they really go above and beyond. It is so important that you and your florist are on the same page and everyone at Black Dahlia is willing to work hand-in-hand throughout the process. They were so flexible and kind enough to let us use our own lanterns to help us stay within our budget. There were no issues coordinating a drop-off time and date for all of our items. They were even so kind to save one of the wreaths from our weddings when they found out our venue had disposed of the others AND they even created a small arrangement for us to keep of all of our greenery and flowers! I really can't say enough good words about Black Dahlia. My friend recommended them to me and I will continue to pass the word along, because they truly are amazing!

Perfection!

We cannot say enough about Black Dahlia, Inc., who provided exquisite floral details for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding on 7/13/19. Sheryl and Sonja captured the essence of Jillian’s vision in exquisitely coordinated floral pieces for the church pews, bouquets, the wedding cake, a bird cage to hold wedding cards, a feature piece for the place card table and centerpieces for the reception ballroom. Sonja even carefully sewed a cross from Jillian’s great-grandmother onto her bridal bouquet the morning of the wedding. Every last detail was perfection for Jillian and Louie’s dream wedding day!
Black Dahlia also provided lovely centerpieces and a large vine decorated with fresh flowers for Jillian’s bridal shower in May. As I became a bit overwhelmed while setting up for the shower, Sonja was finished setting up and could have left. She took over and helped me place signs, picture frames and giant L-O-V-E balloons exactly where they needed to be! Her calm disposition was just what I needed at that moment. It is evident that Sheryl and Sonja take a sincere personal interest in each affair they decorate. What a wonderful team!

Gorgeous flowers!

I absolutely loved how the flowers turned out for our wedding! Sheryl was easy to work with and quickly understood what I was looking for in my wedding vision. The final outcome was more beautiful than I even expected. We received so many compliments about the flowers and centerpieces. I wanted a romantic feeling for our wedding and the flowers definitely made this happen. The pictures speak for themselves! Sonja = Majestic Floral Angel

Where do we begin.

The experience my husband Joe and I had with Sonja at Black Dahlia was nothing short of a dream. When we started our wedding process, we had so much anxiety around how we wanted our day to look. We started with just white flowers and some greenery. We had our first appointment with Sonja and right off the bat we vibed with her. She was so patient in trying to understand how we wanted our day to look while also helping us in checking some other things off our list. We left that appointment feeling super connected and trusted her with making our day perfect.

We hit that point that I think every couple does, Oh shit I don’t know if thats what we actually want! We made another appointment with Sonja, she will do ANYTHING to accommodate you within reason, and we workshopped for almost 3 hours. We left that appointment JAZZED about how our day would look now that we got over the “no color” hump.

Cut too our wedding day. When I tell you our day looked like a dream because of Sonja I don’t say this lightly. She met us at our hotel with floral we needed for photos, she arrived at the venue early, and made sure everything was perfect. When Joe and I walked into our reception space we nearly passed out. We were moved to tears and I couldn’t believe how absolutely PERFECT Sonja made our day. Our guests kept saying our wedding was elegant, classy, not overdone and the word magical kept coming up.

Sonja’s patience is remarkable and her attention to detail is unmatched. We have her to thank for making our wedding look and feel like a dream. Pinterest aint got NOTHING on our girl Sonja! Big shout out to her hubby who also was a big part of the day supporting setup! We loved our whole experience with her and the team at Black Dahlia, will recommend to all I know!

Gorgeous flowers!

It has been 2 months since my wedding and I am still receiving compliments on my gorgeous wedding flowers! When we went in for our initial appointment, we were greeted warmly and shown examples of several different options. Bouquet samples were put together on the spot to give us an idea of what our final product would look like. The staff at Black Dahlia are very knowledgeable. On the day of our wedding, our flowers were delivered on time and I was blown away by how gorgeous they were! My bridal bouquet was perfect, and exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend working with Black Dahlia!

I don't do flowers but I LOVED these

I had no idea where to start when it came to flowers. I am one of those people who passes by a bouquet and it dies so I stay away. We met with Sheryl on my cousins recommendation and all I told her was that I wanted fluffy and white but simple. She showed me a couple of pictures and we agreed to the most reasonable floral price I'd found so far. Come wedding day and Sheryl herself drops off my bouquets and boutonnieres and I am in LOVE. They were perfect. We get to the venue and they had decorated the archway of our ceremony spot along with our tables so beautifully I was in shock. I could not recommend Black Dahlia enough. They did amazing work and I could not be happier!

We used Black Dahlia for our September 7, 2018 wedding and it’s the best decision we made. I’m not a flower person in general and had no idea what I liked nor did I have any floral decor vision for my wedding. But Black Dahlia came to the rescue and the results were stunning...even our very seasoned photographer said it was the most beautiful they had seen in that space. Sonja was such a pleasure to work with. She helps you visualize the arrangements by picking out different flowers in the shop and asking for your suggestions and opinions. It was a great experience especially for a visual person like myself. She was patient and made the process so simple especially with a few last minute minor additions and changes. It was great to work with a small local shop and not some big flower factory. They pay close attention to detail, work well with their clients and do a terrific job!

I highly recommend Black Dahlia Florists. I met with both Sonja and Cheryl throughout the process and they were nothing but helpful and completely saw my vision. There was even a type of flower that every other florist told me they couldn’t get because it was just out of season. When I met with Sonja she atleast told me she would try her best to get the flower. On my wedding day, she delivered my bouquet with the flowers! We booked Black Dahlia for our wedding on June 24, 2018 and we could not be happier that we chose them for our floral designs for our wedding. We met with Sheryl who provided us with mock bouquet and centerpieces of exactly what we envisioned. We were so pleased that we booked them on the spot. In addition to flowers, we also were pleased to rent our table numbers and a Mr. and Mrs. sign for our sweetheart table, a The day of the wedding, flowers were delivered to both the bride and groom's locations as well as our venue. Everything looked perfect, and it was even better than we had remembered. AMAZING! We got married on April 21 and Sonja with Black Dahlia was incredible from start to finish. She gave us ideas, listened to our ideas. She took ideas from what I shared or envisioned and created such a gorgeous day. The flowers were absolutely stunning. Sonja spent so much time planning with us. She really cares about weddings and enjoys doing them. She is a caring and kind person who puts so much effort and care into her work with clients. She's generous with her time. You can tell Sonja loves what she does. People are still talking about the flowers. Most people took centerpieces home and immediately contacted me asking for information on the florist. We would 100% without any reservation recommend Sonja and recommend Black Dahlia for all your floral needs. If you want your wedding to stand out...you need to use Black Dahlia.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Sonja and Sheryl exceeded my expections. I have to admit when I first was walked in, I had a modest budget for 10 tables and then i needed 18 tables because the amount of guests were coming, I almost wanted to cry. However, they worked with me in every way. They helped stretch it every way. They made my venue gorgeous. Every single person including men was floored. They were not only a florist, they were my therapist, when I had some hiccups with the venue. The flowers are still beautiful on my fireplace (my fireplace drapping) even after 3 days out of water. The room smelled amazing. If you are thinking about any other florist, do not go. You need to use them. I basically Pinterest my whole wedding and they mirrored it. I went with most of greenery because I love green and incorporated flowers. The only sad thing is I won’t talk to them as much because the wedding planning is over. However- if I need flowers- I’m using them.

You will be inspired just walking in to Black Dahlia with all the amazing pieces around the shop to help bring out your wedding style. After months of browsing Pinterest to find looks that seemed to fit our vintage gold coast style wedding we had a general idea in mind but needed guidance to bring it to life. Sheryl was the guide we needed; she is so compassionate and it felt like the little details of our wedding were really important to her too. In addition to her passion and creativity, her organization, flawless paperwork, quick responses, and flexibility to make tweaks as we went along made us so happy to see her each time we visited the shop as the wedding day approached. We worked with candles and mercury glass to keep the budget in line which perfectly complemented the cymbidium orchids and quicksand roses that were our featured dinner centerpiece flowers. The size of our wedding at NYIT de Seversky Mansion made use of the whole house and the Gatsby style feather centerpieces were the perfect way to complement the ballroom for dancing. The bride’s calla lily bouquet was just the right size, with perfect ribbon work and even lasted a week after the wedding. Sheryl was around personally, and early, on the day of our wedding and even repurposed items as we transitioned locations. The flowers were so fresh and the designs perfectly executed as envisioned.

Sonja was fantastic to work with! From the first meeting I had with her she truly had me set on working with Black Dahlia. She put together samples of what I was looking for right away and truly stayed within my budget. Up until the wedding I had a few changes here and there with table set ups (had oval tables originally but ended up with rounds) and she had great ideas as to how to make my original ideas still work.

What I was most impressed with was when she told me she would be the one setting everything up. Let me tell you everything was beautiful and just how I had imagined it. From the aisle runner to the bouquets, to my centerpieces, I loved everything.

Black Dahlia works with you and your budget and is very knowledgeable in their craft. I recommend them without hesitation!

After meeting with a few wedding florists, it was like a breath of fresh air walking into Black Dahlia & working with Sheryl! She listened to everything I wanted & didn't talk me out of anything. Anything that I wanted she made possible!!! We were beyond thrilled with how everything came out. My bouquet & the girl's bouquets were absolutely gorgeous & lasted all day! And she had made a custom piece for our ceremony that was stunning!!!! I would highly reccommend them for your big day!!

I am so beyond happy that I used Black Dahlia as my florist for my wedding. From the moment I walked into the shop I just knew they were going to be my pick. I had a vision of using my favorite flowers, Gerber Daisies and having all the bright fall colors- I met with Sonja and she literally took my vision and made it beyond anything I could ever have imagine. The center pieces were amazing and our bouquets were gorgeous!! My family could not believe how beautiful the flowers looked. I would definitely use them for any other occasion that I may have in the future or just to order a beautiful bouquet. Black Dahlia, thank you so much!!

Sheryl was wonderful! I procrastinated the florist because I was dreading it and it ended up being my favorite part of the planning process because of how helpful and calm Sheryl was. She doesn't try to tack on extra cost or push you past your limit and yet she did everything in her power to make my flowers beautiful without showing my skimpy budget. Very professional and on top of things! Loved the final product!

After my first appointment with Sonja I was confident she could create what I envisioned for my wedding day. I came in with ideas and pictures and Sonja was mindful of our budget and was able to suggest flowers that could create the look I wanted while staying within our price range. I made changes along the way with the flowers and Sonja was very accommodating and emailed me back promptly. The flowers were delivered on time to our hotel, church, and venue on our wedding day and they were beautiful!! I'd highly recommend Black Dahlia!

Black Dahlia's is absolutely AMAZING!!! I worked with Sonja, who I knew I could trust 100% with making my flowers beautiful and unforgettable for my July 2017 wedding. Sonja was committed to making my vision come true. Sonja is incredibly creative, impeccable and dependable. My fiancé and I made a mistake with how many tables we thought we had. We told Sonja 15 when really needed 17 centerpieces! Sonja ran out on the spot to Michael's to create our wooden boxes and get supplies. Like a magician she made everything look PERFECT!!! Another florist would have walked out of our venue with no help at all since the error was our mistake NOT the florist. I love this vendor and can not wait to use them again in the future!! THANK YOU!!! :)

Black Dahlia is such a wonderful company to do business with. My husband and I met with Sheryl during our first initial meeting, and she immediately knew the overall look that we wanted to capture for our wedding, and everything was executed to perfection! During our first meeting I gave her our max budget, and she came in well under it. Our ceremony space, bouquets, and centerpieces all looked so beautiful! I recommend Sheryl and her team in a heartbeat. They are truly wonderful.

By far the best decision I made for my wedding. Sheryl was beyond amazing from the time I first reached out to her.
She sat with us for over 2 hours on our first meeting and then again right before our wedding.
My guests did nothing but rave about how stunning our centerpieces and bouquets were. They also loved how she tied in a subtle rememberence into grooms side boutierres for his brother that passed. She also did our table numbers (in rose gold...an annoyingly beautiful color that she had down pat) and made everything breathtaking!
She's was recommended to us by a co-worker and I'm so happy We went with them. Even my dad (who is hard to impress was blown away)!!!

I am so happy that we hired Sonja for our wedding flowers. Everything was beautiful, and I was so at ease from start to finish. I planned my wedding for almost 3 years and made at least two separate meetings before booking a wedding vendor, until I met with Sonja. I went to the initial meeting with my mom, we got to the car and I thought to myself, "Why am I not booking this right now?" I just got such great vibes from her, I knew she was the perfect florist for me. I went back in and put the deposit down because I knew I didn't want to lose her to another bride!

I showed her a few pinterest pictures and gave her a couple of descriptions and she literally had my entire wedding vision on paper in 10 minutes. I felt like I was sitting and chatting with one of my friends. It was such a fun and comfortable experience. I had told her from the very beginning that I had a very small budget for florals. Most vendors give you the stink eye the second you bring up money in the first meeting. Sonja assured me that she had just been married and knows the feeling. She gave me different ideas and ways that we could modify the order in order to save money. We used in season florals and I had simple flowers. My bridesmaids held simple baby's breath bouquets, and they were the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. This meeting was 2 years before my wedding. I was so happy and content with what she planned and did in that initial consultation, I literally never changed a thing over that two years and I never even needed to schedule another meeting.

The day of the wedding, everything arrived exactly on schedule and exactly as discussed. The flowers stayed beautiful the entire wedding. No wilting, no stray flowers. They were safe and secure. Even when I threw the bouquet at the end! There was another wedding in the church right before ours. The second the other wedding ended, they went into the church and set up everything in just a few minutes.

Let me start by saying the Black Dahlia location is 100% beautiful. You walk into a room full of wedding everything and you smell the amazing flowers. By far my favorite vendor to visit. I worked directly with Sonja. She was amazing. She helped me figure out what I want by my descriptions and I got EXACTLY what I wanted. It was easy and everything was amazing. Even the woman who delivered the flowers to my home was sweet and congratulated me with a genuine smile on her face. I loved everything about this vendor and the flowers were perfect. My bouquet was exactly what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Sonja at Black Dahlia. From the moment my (now) husband and I walked in, she made us feel totally comfortable and at home. I have about as little knowledge of flowers as is possible at an adult age, and Sonja was beyond patient as she showed us different blooms, shades, and possible arrangements. Not only is she incredibly skilled at what she does, but Sonja is also one of the funniest and most charismatic people my husband and I have had the pleasure of meeting. Every time we went for another appointment it was like hanging out with an old friend. On the day of our wedding, Sonja was literally there every step of the way and she made sure everything looked perfect. At the start of this process, flowers were the thing I thought I cared the least about. By the time our day rolled around I can honestly say that due to Sonja's phenomenal work our flowers & centerpieces were my absolute favorite detail. I truly cannot thank Sonja enough for her hard work, patience, sense of humor, and all around fabulous demeanor. She is a talented florist and wonderful person - you will not regret choosing Black Dahlia!!

To start, Black Dahlia was professional and very responsive. Even after our initial meeting, when we realized we had gone a bit above our budget, they were more than accommodating and we found easy solutions to cut a few dollars here and there while keeping our ultimate vision. They also worked with us on colors (we ended up with mostly pinks, whites, and greens, which looked beautiful and romantic) and flower combinations until we felt really confident in our ultimate choices. We could not have been happier with the flowers on our wedding day--they were everything we imagined and more! Sheryl (and Sonja) did such a spectacular job. We were so in awe of the room—with the high centerpieces exactly as I pictured them in my mind--and I absolutely loved my bouquet. The flowers at the church were also amazing--and it was so nice walking down the aisle to see the beautiful display. Really and truly, Sheryl worked with us and made our wedding very special. I would highly, highly recommend Black Dahlia for any wedding or party. We’ll definitely be using them again when the time comes!

My wedding date was a day before Mother's Day so I was nervous about the prices and supplies. However, after meeting with Sonja, all my worries went away and I knew my wedding is going to be perfect. I spoke to Sonja on the phone first and she seems really nice but once I met her in person, I was completely impressed. All I am going to say is that she was phenomenon. Sonja was so organized, professional and of course an incredible florist. Sonja suggested and offered many choices/ideas for our wedding ceremony, reception and of course with our bouquets of flowers. She was very sweet and she was not pushy or intimidating at all. I honestly felt that she sincerely care so much about her clients. From the beginning of hiring Sonja to after the wedding, everything was perfect. I instantly clicked with Sonja upon meeting her at my initial meeting. I didn't know much about flowers, but she guided me through the process. I felt complete confidence that she could execute my vision and help me choose amazing flowers for my look. Even when looking into other florists she was completely honest about what she could and could not do and let me know when others were being dishonest. Burton's had told me a flower I wanted couldn't be done at my May wedding, but Sonja assured me she could get them. When I went into see my sample a year before my wedding I decided I didn't like the flower, but she kept to her word and was able to get me it. She was always there to recommend other vendors for other work I needed done. Sonja is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!!

Can not say enough great things about Sonja and Sheryl at Black Dahlia! They helped me zero in on exactly what I was looking for in my wedding flowers. I didn't know where to start but Sonja and Sheryl pointed me in the right direction and I am so happy with the results! When I think about my wedding day, I still see all of the colorful bouquets, sprays and center pieces in my mind. I got so many compliments on them, including my make up vendor who said my bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet she has ever seen... and she's seen a lot! You can tell that this is there passion, that they truly love what they do. It shows and it makes for some amazing results. Sonja at Black Dahlia was amazing! Sonja was the florist for our wedding at the Woodlands on 5/31/15. Upon first meeting her I knew she would be the florist I would use. She met with me for about 2 hours and went through endless Pinterest photo's, set up multiple centerpiece ideas, and re-created my dream arch for our ceremony. Her ideas were so beautiful and unique. Definitely not the cookie cutter wedding flowers! She was able to create my vision even better then I imagined. I was blown away when my wedding day came. I received a recommendation for this vendor from a co-worker and it was truly a gem! Black Dahlia handled arrangements, bouquets and boutonnières for two ceremonies (we had a Handfasting on 5/17 and our wedding on 10/17). Despite doing double duty, Sheryl and her team did a fantastic job and were absolutely easy to work.

My wife and I loved our bouquets and I was particularly excited to have one with my favorite flower, lilacs, which is not an easy feat due to their short blooming season. In addition, they also did beautiful work with one of our props – a wooden pickup truck my wife gave to her dad before he passed away – adding flowers and pumpkins in the cargo bed and placed on a “road” made out of pebbles and grasses. It was so creative, beautiful and exceeded our expectations.

I am happy to pass on this recommendation – give Black Dahlia a call. You won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I got married at the Woodlands in Woodbury, NY on November 13, 2015. We were absolutely thrilled with our flowers. Our guests were in awe of how beautiful everything looked, from the bouquets, to corsages, to centerpieces, and everywhere in between. Sonja was an absolute pleasure to work with. Before meeting her in person, I sent her inspiration photos for bouquets and centerpieces. For our first meeting, Sonja had already organized the pieces I had in mind and catered all of the flowers to fit my budget and match my vision. She was able to create exactly what I had in mind. We met a second time before the wedding so that she could show me completed examples of centerpieces and bouquets. I also rented candles, vases, and crystals from Black Dahlia. Sonja and the crew from Black Dahlia went to our venue early to make sure that everything was set up the way I had wanted and put perfect finishing touches everywhere. Everything came out perfectly; we couldn’t have been happier!

Where do I begin? Sonja was incredible. I looked at 6 florist before picking one and Sonja was the ONLY one who was able to see exactly what I wanted and who was able to make my visions a reality! She was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and she went above and beyond to help make our wedding beautiful. Before the wedding they set everything up in a timely manner and after everything was taken down so fast. They were never in the way and they made sure everything was what we wanted and they made sure it was perfect! I would HIGHLY recommend them for any event.

Sonja was amazing! The first meeting I had with her, she spent 3 hours with me and my mom, going over every detail I would need for my wedding, without even signing a contract yet! I had some ideas, but not a specific vision, and she took my ideas and really fleshed them out into what my wedding became! She helped me pick the perfect flowers, and really was there every step of the way. Any questions I had, she answered promptly. Everything was gorgeous. I would absolutely work with her again.

Black Dahlia was the first florist we visited based on a friend's recommendation, and we liked their options, creativity and affordability so much that we booked with them that day. Cheryl and Sonja were a pleasure to work with, and were able to perfectly create our vision from a color story and a flower of preference. They promptly answered our questions through the planning process. We did alternating table centerpieces, low and high, and when we walked into our reception area, we were FLORed!! They went above and beyond our expectations. Cheryl was there at the wedding venue early in the day, and made sure every single detail was attended to. Make an appointment with Black Dahlia and thank us later.

We are so happy we found Black Dahlia to do the flowers for our wedding. Sheryl and Sonja are both so sweet, helpful, and talented! All the flowers, from the bouquets to the centerpieces were absolutely gorgeous. I received many compliments on the flowers on my wedding day. Unlike other florists, which from reviews I saw, skimp on the arrangements the day of, I had no such complaints with Black Dahlia. They were also very helpful in keeping within our budget. Everything was beautiful - I would highly recommend this florist!

I honestly couldn't have been happier with Sonja at Black Dahlia. She was one of my favorite vendors to work with because she is also so sweet on top of being talented. She did an amazing job on my wedding at Houston Hall in May 2015. She basically took the ideas I had in my head and made them a reality, and I didn't have to do much to get here there--she just "got it." In addition to doing fabulous work, Black Dahlia was very affordable and came in with a quote way less than other florists we met with. She didn't nickle and dime us either -- she even brought additional floral arrangements to our wedding just in case she wanted to use them and didn't charge us extra.

I have since recommended Sonja to others and she will be doing the floral designer for my sister-in-law's wedding.

Sonja at Black Dahlia was absolutely amazing! She took my ideas and visions and made them a beautiful reality. I am from Hawaii and our wedding was in New York; I wanted the flowers and décor to represent my culture and my beautiful home of Hawaii. Sonja exceeded my expectations – she made the most amazing centerpieces with orchids, monstera leaves, and ti leaves – all native Hawaiian plants and flowers. My guests all commented on uniqueness and beauty of my centerpieces. My Bouquet was also amazing and Sonja was able to incorporate my grandmother’s pearls onto my bouquet the day of my wedding – it was so special to have a part of my grandmother with me that day. As far as my budget was concerned, when shopping for a florist, Sonja at Black Dahlia was the only florist that was able to stay within my budget while still providing me with the vision I wanted for my big day. I would recommend Black Dahlia for any wedding or special event!

I worked with Sonja and I could not have been happier. As many other brides I did not want to blow my entire budget on flowers and Sonja understood my visions and made them come to life. When my flowers were delivered I almost started to cry because they were so perfect! Plus the quality of the flowers is amazing. Two weeks later my bouquet is still in water on the counter!! I couldn't have been more relieved when meeting Sonja. After so many florists told me that I needed to increase my budget Sonja and Black Dahalia came in under budget and she was so flexible after multiple changes that I requested!!

I had a horrible time meeting with florists until I met Sonja at Black Dahlia, Inc. Every florist tried to talk me into things I don't want. Although I love flowers, I did not want to spend a lot. Sonja worked with me to create the look I wanted for the price I wanted. She gave me alternatives and we adjusted things a few times. She didn't push me into things I didn't want and made my vision come to life. She was wonderful to work with and made me excited about how everything would look. All of our flowers (centerpieces and personal flowers) looked absolutely beautiful. I couldn't recommend Sonja and Black Dahlia, Inc. more.

I was married over a year ago but had to write a review for Sheryl and black dahlia. My wedding would not have been a success without her. We had a specific beauty and the beast themed wedding with tea cups and tea pots and glass cloches, tulle and tons and tons of roses. She understood my our crazy vision immediately and I felt an instant connection. She is a true artist and professional. Everything was so elegant and lovely. What a wonderful company, go with them!

Black Dahlia did a fantastic job for my January 2, 2015 wedding!!! I worked with Sonja who was an absolute sweetheart and worked to stay within my budget. She came recommended to me by my best friend who used her for her September wedding and I couldn't be happier with service. Black Dahlia did an amazing job with the flowers for my wedding. They surpassed my expectations!

The flower arrangements and bows for the pews at church, as well as the flowers for the bridal party were absolutely beautiful. The team did an amazing job and everything turned out perfect. All of our guest were complementing the unique style of the flower arrangements and decorations. The selection of the flowers, colors and decorations complimented each other. The decorations were modern, earthy, rustic and very classy. Everything was beautiful!

FLowers were the one thing that gave me anxiety when planning our wedding. I know nothing about flowers except that they're all pretty!
When I met with Sonja from Black Dahlia, I couldn't even begin to articulate what I wanted. She was super patient and we worked together to help create my vision. She was really flexible throughout the entire process. She was able to both listen to what I was looking for, as well as advise me with expertise and turn the final presentation into more that I could imagine on our wedding day.
When i saw my flowers my mind was blown. SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB. Every last detail was so much more than I could have expected. From my bouquet, my bridesmaids bouquets, the centerpieces and the decorative touches throughout the venue... everything was PERFECT! I got so many compliments on the flowers, and everyone wanted to take a centerpiece. When we got home from our honeymoon, people were telling me how there centerpieces that they took were still alive and still looked beautiful.
I could not be more pleased with the quality and service that Sonja provided. She really went above and beyond and is a true professional. For any brides and grooms to be in any stage of your wedding planning I whole heartedly recommend Black Dahlia.

Of all the florists my now-husband and I considered for our wedding, Black Dahlia by far surpassed our expectations and made the unexpected floral decision easy!

Knowing nothing about flowers or what we wanted, we visited several florists - but Sheryl with Black Dahlia won us over immediately. She spent more time with us at our initial meeting than the other florists we visited combined, getting to know us, what we liked or disliked and listening to our ideas as well as working with our budget. She not only showed us books and books of pictures of what she could do for us, but as we talked, she pulled sample flowers from around her store to show us the flowers and designs she spoke of. When my now-husband presented his own original idea for a centerpiece, which Sheryl had not done previously, she surprised us by assembling a sample one for us right there to confirm whether we were on the same page (which we were and which she did an amazing job on for the actual wedding). Our guests loved everything - from the flowers to the centerpieces to the chupah - we got rave reviews! And Sheryl and Sonya were both easy to work with, very responsive, and best of all, gave us the best price of any florist we considered. What I thought would be the most stressful decision in wedding planning was made one of the easiest, thanks to Black Dahlia!

Sonja did the flowers for my March wedding and she was a pleasure to work with. From the initial consultation to the sample centerpiece she made us to adjustments the week of the wedding, she was extremely flexible, professional and had a great eye. We got so many complements on the bouquets and various centerpieces. And for all the flowers and quality of the service, I thought it was a great value for the money. Would recommend Black Dahlia to any future brides in the area.

If you are looking for a wedding florist that cares, then you have definitely found the right one! Sheryl and her assistant Sonja are absolutely amazing. Let me start by saying I am not the easiest person to work with. I had a vision in my head for our wedding that I just couldn't seem to express. Well, Sheryl and Sonja hit the nail on the head! First of all, Sheryl puts her heart and soul into everything she works on. They are consistently working hard to create jaw dropping and inspiring works of art. Yes, true works of art. This is not your average florist. Sheryl will listen to you, share her knowledge with you and ultimately come up with the perfect arrangements for your special day. I changed my mind several times about my flowers and Sheryl was never upset or annoyed with me. We really worked together to bring my vision to light. The moment I saw the flowers on my wedding day my whole face lit up!!! They were absolutely stunning. Truly stunning! Not only did I LOVE my flowers, but there were many guests approaching Sheryl about the flowers before the ceremony began. They said it was some of the most beautiful arrangements of bouquets they had ever seen. Also, Sheryl rented her gorgeous crystal candelabras to us. It is very difficult to find crystal candelabras at a florist and Sheryl owns her own complete set. So, if you want stunning arrangements you should really check her out! My vision did not end there. Of course I also wanted these sweet vintage goblets filled with small arrangements for around the centerpieces. These little gems would serve as the favors for my guests. She graciously collected 90 vintage-looking goblets, glasses, vases and etc. over the course of several months to use as a collection of unique decorations for the tables. And, the icing on the cake were the addition of mercury glass votives for the tables. Oh and we rented beautifully handcrafted table numbers!!! Thank you Sheryl and Sonja for bring dreams to life. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sheryl and the services Black Dahlia provided. My wedding was over two months ago and my guests are still talking about how gorgeous the flowers were. Sheryl really got the exact look I was hoping for - even though in my mind I was trying to be "nontraditional" and different-- she got it exactly, looked at my photos, made such wonderful creative suggestions, worked with our budget, and took so much time to talk to me and my mom. She just knew what would look good--from the bridal bouquets which had the wildflower/rustic look I dreamed of, to the beautiful table pieces and entry way flowers that added the perfect personal and unfussy touch that made it really feel like my wedding - not anyone else's. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a florist who is easy to work with, reliable, and dedicated! And who creates the most beautiful flower arrangements I have ever seen at a wedding - so happy it was mine!

They were amazing! I don't know much about flowers, but when I met with Sheryl, she put together a few ideas I had and WOW: they were STUNNING! She is truly amazing at what she does, you can put all of your trust in her, she will take care of you! From the bridal bouquet, to the boutineers, to the decorating she and Sonia did at the wedding cake table, each individual reception table, and our card table... it was truly stunning and we received so many compliments. You are in good hands! :)

I was very pleased with Black Dahlia. Sheryl and Sonja were very easy to work with and answered all of my questions promptly. They were professional, friendly and creative. We had our wedding at the De Seversky Mansion which is difficult for florists since there are so many areas that need to be covered. We wanted a combination of flowers and candles to fill the venue.They made beautiful floral and candle arrangements! Every arrangement was exactly what I envisioned. Sonja even stayed to help move arrangements and I could not be more thankful to her and Sheryl for all of their hard work. I would highly recommend them!

I couldn't be happier with choosing Black Dahlia is the florist for my wedding!! Sheryl and her colleague were amazing to work with throughout the entire process and the arrangements were just gorgeous. I wanted a mix between mercury glass, candles, and small, white, earthy flower arrangements, and Sheryl completely understood my vision from start to finish. I almost teared up when the maitre'd brought us in to see the reception room at the wedding, it was so beautiful and the table arrangements, so impeccably done. It was exactly what I imagined. My bouquets were equally amazing and looked as photogenic as any you would see in a wedding magazine. I would highly recommend Black Dahlia!

If you want the most beautiful flowers and the best service then please contact The Black Dahilia. Sheryl and Sonia were awesome and so easy to work with. I contacted them 3 weeks before my wedding and they gave me everything I wanted and more. I can't rave about them enough. Their prices are great! Do yourself a favor, call them!

Black Dahlia does beautiful work at great prices. Sonia was friendly and great to work with. The bouquets were gorgeous. The attention to detail was wonderful, even in the boutonniere (the white rose was wrapped in little flowers used in my bouquet).

Sheryl at Black Dahlia was a pleasure to work with. I had met with a couple florist before her and was really loosing hope in my floral vision. I was told what I wanted could not be done and I could only pick from several flowers because my wedding was in July (?). My first meeting with Sheryl was great, she spent a lot of time with me going over my vision and showing me samples of flowers I wanted. She completely understood what I wanted and executed it perfectly. She got my peonies from Alaska and the price was right on point. She really cares and has a vast knowledge about flowers.

There are no words to describe how wonderful it was working with Sheryl and Sonia, they made my vision come to life. I was blown away when I walked into my venue and saw their incredible work. Everyone kept telling me how beautiful and elegant everything looked. When you meet with your vendors, you pray they understand the look your going for. Sheryl and Sonia created my absolute dream. I was so impressed I had to call them the next day (an hour before I left for my honeymoon) to thank them.

Sheryl from Black Dahlia is not only an extremely talented artist, she is an amazing person as well. Her floral arrangements are unique and true works of art. She has terrific ideas; however, will only voice her opinion after listening to everything you have to say. Sheryl truly respects her customers individuality and always find a way to create exactly what they're looking for. My husband I were extremely impressed when Sheryl brought a sample centerpiece to our venue on the day of our tasting. If you are looking for class and elegance, I would highly recommend Black Dahlia.

Sheryl and her husband Chris are OUTSTANDING!!! We first saw their work at a bridal show. Every arrangement that we saw and liked--was theirs! Then we met them...what a team! Laid back, approachable, easy to work with, affordable, dependable, and just plain talented. Our wedding was 3 weeks after Hurricane Sandy and when Sheryl told us not to worry, we knew we could trust her and were rewarded with a phenomenal wedding.

Working with Sheryl was fantastic. Not only were her prices extremely reasonable, her attention to detail and patience with someone that knew nothing about flowers was incredible. She really made me feel at ease and immediately "got" my vision for our wedding. She communicated with me step by step and really made us feel like we were in good hands. Our flowers arrived right on time on the day of our wedding and they were all gorgeous. The room was set up perfectly and we really loved everything. You cannot go wrong with Black Dahlia.
