Erica did the flowers for my daughter's wedding this past weekend. We love flowers and wanted them to be a big emphasis of the wedding. I had high expectations for the flowers but I could not even have dreamed how beautiful they turned out. My daughter and I were thrilled with everything! My daughter chose the jewel tone color scheme and Erica executed it flawlessly. I can't say enough good things...everything was beyond beautiful!

Beautiful flowers with meaning
Erica was a dream to work with! Together we chose flowers that were the colors I wanted and also meaningful to me. She incorporated any detail we asked for and had wonderful design suggestions. She went so far as to email me photos of local peonies a year before so we could find the right color match and I would know what to expect. The day of she was a breath of joy and set up was seamless. For a wedding bursting with flowers it was surprisingly affordable and she was very transparent about prices. I could not have asked for a better experience and am so thankful for her help creating a look that felt truly unique to our love.

One Word: Amazing
Erica is way more than a florist to me. She is one of my best friends and she was a bridesmaid in my wedding. She took on the role of bridesmaid and she did the flowers for my wedding. This was no small task, especially since the wedding was in the OBX! The flowers were literally PERFECT! The centerpieces, the garland, the arbor, the bouquets, the cake flowers- everything was gorgeous! Cameron was a HUGE help too in setting everything up at the venue while us ladies were doing our thing getting ready. From initial proposal to wedding day, Erica absolutely overdelivered with the most incredible arrangements and floral accents. I knew I wanted pops of color and texture, and Erica not only helped me discover the names of flowers I loved, but put together the absolutely perfect color scheme and vision for how to put it all together. She was very familiar with my venue (Mill at Fine Creek) and helped make suggestions to bring the best out of the space. My jaw dropped when I walked downstairs to the reception site to see her work - I was genuinely blown away, she 100% captured what I was hoping to have for the day! From incorporating bud vases and antique elements inherited from my grandmother to working with some of the more detailed asks (leather cording wraps for boutonnieres, custom charm/handkerchief for my bridal bouquet, etc.), Erica was always game to make it happen. She was also incredibly flexible and responsive when I added extra arrangements to accommodate increased guest counts when COVID restrictions lifted a bit. Her pricing was very reasonable, and her talent is unmatched. Hire her and give her freedom to use her artistry and eye for floral design. You will end with something beautiful if you trust her with your day!

My jaw still drops when I look back at photos of our floral arrangements. Erica is so insanely talented and the best floral artist ever.

Gorgeous florals and a dream to work with!
Erica is a truly talented floral artist. On top of that, she is a dream to work with. My fiance and I came to our first meeting with her having pretty vague ideas about what we wanted and she took that and ran with it and came up with a floral plan that we are so excited about!
We've also, unfortunately, had to postpone our wedding because of the coronavirus and she happily agreed to move with us to our new date and didn't ask anything extra of us.
I cannot recommend Black Creek more highly!

From day one, Erica was a breath of fresh air through the craziness of wedding planning. The Most Beautiful Flowers
Erica and her team were amazing to work with. I had an idea of what I wanted, but I knew nothing about flowers. I had also heard that wedding flowers could be a budget killer, so I was nervous that I couldn't get everything that I wanted within my budget. Erica quickly alleviated all of my fears!
I was impressed by two things when we met:
1) She asked me my budget, and she assured me that we could work within it. She recommended that we set the number aside while we talked about what I'd ideally want and then do the math to see whether it fit within what I wanted to spend. She promised that she'd help scale and prioritize to ensure that I could get the look I was going for without breaking the bank. I'm happy to report that we totaled up all of my requests and came in right on budget without having to cut anything from the design!
2) As we talked through the look I wanted, she taught me about the different flower options. I explained that I wanted soft and white, with pops of pink and lots of greenery. Erica showed me picture after picture to get a better idea of what kinds of blooms, textures and colors that I'd like to see. She helped me understand what would be in season, and she took the venue, my style and the look that I was going into consideration.
Throughout the year, Erica checked in to see how I was doing, and she made updates to the design as my wedding vision changed. On the day of, I was so happy with the results. I would highly recommend her!!

Erica is incredible OH MY GOODNESS. Saying she is talented is a serious understatement. I gave her a budget and color scheme I had in mind for my flowers. Other than that I was pretty clueless on what I wanted and needed for my wedding. Erica gave such helpful recommendations and guided me through the planning process in a way that I could easily understand and wasn’t overwhelmed by. We gave each guest a succulent as their favor and Erica was able to order 230+ succulents for me no problem. She made incredible wine barrel flower displays as our reception was at a winery. My favorite thing she did was flowers going up the tree at our ceremony as we got married under that very tree. I would have paid double what she charged. Our guests commented non stop about the flowers and are still talking about the tree wrap she did! Thank you Erica for making our wedding unforgettable!

Even though I didn't have an exact vision for what I wanted our flowers to look like she was able to grasp my style after sitting down together. My bridal bouquet was gorgeous and exactly what I wanted. Considering my main descriptions to her were textured and organic with some greenery, but not too leafy, but not too perfectly round, I wasn't sure that would be enough for her but that's exactly how it turned out and I loved it! Erica was super organized and reliable, I was in touch with her upon before and after our meeting in the fall and then spoke to her once or twice leading up to the wedding just to check in but she handled everything herself with ease.

I met with Erica based on a referral, and she ended up being the perfect fit for us. I gave her an idea of my vision for the wedding, and then let her have creative control over what she thought would look good. So much better than asking her to recreate something from pinterest; my flowers were original and stunning!! She even text me a photo of my bouquet early on the morning of my wedding, which was so thoughtful. She genuinely cares about each and every one of her couples, and is personally invested in making sure they're happy. I couldn't recommend her more!!

Wow, amazed at Erica's work! She was very accommodating to working with a budget and found a way to create arrangements above and beyond what I asked. After initially going into this thinking that flowers did not matter significantly to me, I can say that using Black Creek was one of the best decisions I made. I had 9 bridesmaids and 20 reception tables and she brought it all together. I would recommend her to anyone!

I knew all of my wedding flowers were going to be gorgeous after seeing see pictures of their work and meeting with Erica, but we were all absolutely blown away when they arrived at the wedding. The flowers, the bouquets especially, were INCREDIBLE. I had no idea I could be that impressed by flowers. Erica is easy to work with and very talented as well as very fairly priced. Our arrangements for our wedding were absolutely stunning. They were able to take our vision and create a beautiful end result. They were very easy to work with, flexible, and sensibly priced. They were not stingy at all with the flowers unlike many other flower shops. We would highly recommend!

I absolutely loved working with Erica at Black Creek Flowers & Sweets. She was very helpful and worked within our budget. She was very patient with me even when I changed my mind a few times and made updates to bouquets at the last minute. My mom and I loved working with her. When a family friend picked the flowers up the day of the wedding, she had nothing but good things to say about the team helping her load the car and getting organized. The flowers were prepared and packaged very nicely. Everything looked gorgeous and we would work with Erica and her team again - loved all of my bouquets and centerpieces!

Erica was THE BEST. My flowers were SO GORGEOUS. She also helped work with my mom since my work hours were the same as hers, and I couldn't take more time off to meet with her. Erica even called me from her home after hours to recap the order the week of the wedding. I will use her again and again and again, and I would recommend her to EVERYONE who needs anything to do with flowers. She was incredibly mindful of my budget, and was able to put together a beautiful color scheme using only two swatches my mother provided, and never even meeting me. I wish I could keep my bouquet forever.

Erica and her team provided beautiful flowers and arrangements that exceeded all of our needs and expectations for our wedding. Even with my short timeline, Erica was able to meet with me, give me incredible samples, and provide the perfect floral arrangements within my price-conscious budget. We ordered boutonnieres for the groom, groomsmen, and pastor; bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids; an arrangement for the baptistry in the church/sweetheart reception table; and corsages for mothers and grandmothers. Additionally, Erica provided hydrangeas at wholesale cost for us to make our own table centerpieces. Erica was cognizant of my budget and made every effort to provide options accordingly.

I cannot say enough about how GORGEOUS our flowers were from Black Creek! They were absolutely stunning. The owner, Erica, was incredible to work with. I had several changes to what I wanted along the way and she was consistently flexible and always responded very quickly to my requests. She was also amazing about pricing - I gave her my budget and she helped me find a way to get beautiful bouquets that would fit my budget. She also is extremely knowledgable. I found with some other vendors I talked to, they wanted me to pick out every single flower in the bouquet. I know nothing about flowers so that was extremely intimidating to me and I didn't know what would look good together. With Erica, I just told her what colors/types of flowers and I like and she put it all together. HIRE HER - you won't regret it!

I wanted simple elegance without breaking the bank and they were spot on. All the flowers were beautiful, fresh and lasted well beyond my wedding day. I planned my wedding from out of state and they were willing to work with me via phone and email, which made everything so much easier. Erica coordinated with my venue and my cake baker to be able to deliver on time and be there to answer questions if needed. She is hometown, local and extremely friendly. I would recommend her for weddings or just general flowers needs. 100% great!

They were a random recommendation from a co-worker during my florist search and I went in for an initial consultation meeting and knew within the first 5 minutes they were the one. I know nothing about floral design - I just know what looks "pretty" and generally what I was looking for. I showed Erica a ton of random pictures of what I was going for (I wanted flowers everywhere) and even though I was all over the place with what I was thinking about / wanted, she somehow ended up designing the most perfect wedding floral arrangements and bouquets that I have EVER seen. They were more perfect than I could have ever imagined!! Not only were the actual flowers perfect and gorgeous, Erica was an even more perfect vendor to work with. I feel like I had know her for years after only meeting with her a couple of times. She is so personable, relaxed, professional, detail-oriented, and very passionate about what she does. After researching MANY different florists specializing in weddings in the Richmond area, Black Creek is by far the BEST! I promise you will not regret choosing them as your wedding florist. :)

I cannot say enough nice things about Erica and her team. She took my vague notion of color and "I think I want hydrangeas" and created absolutely beautiful bouquets, centerpieces, and pew markers that perfectly fit the feel and theme of my wedding. The flowers arrived right on time, and their setup was quick and efficient. Not only were the blooms beautiful, not a single wilt or discolored flower in the bunch, but they stayed so throughout the ceremony, reception, and for the next week afterwords. I came home from my honeymoon to several of the centerpieces that still looked beautiful. The prices are very reasonable, and she is able to help you figure out how to stay within your budget. Communication was super simple, and she was always quick to get back to me to answer questions, change quantities, or whatever I had to ask of her. I highly recommend Black Creek for all your florist needs!

Our wedding isn't for three months, but I must say I'm so excited for our flowers from Black Creek! I was getting a little discouraged after talking with other florists, who would say things like "well, you can have roses or hydrangea. Nothing else is in season in the summer." Seriously! Having a consultation with Erica was a totally different story. She knows exactly what she's doing and has wonderful ideas, and gave us more than a fair price. Before I started let me just say how excited I am that I just noticed that my bouquet is the cover photo :) Erica and her team are AMAZING. They were one of the very FEW things that I had to worry about when it came time for my wedding. She made my vision come to life without me having to figure out anything. I can't say enough good about this florist! I do not know a whole lot about flowers, nor did I have a strong opinion on which flowers I wanted. This florist definitely knows her stuff, and she sat down with me and made recommendations based on questions she asked about my likes and dislikes. She made what I thought was going to be a difficult decision so easy and enjoyable, and the flowers were GORGEOUS! My bouquet was the most beautiful and unique arrangement I have ever seen, and all the other flowers were perfect! It was clear that she really cares about each individual bride, and that putting together bridal bouquets is not just a formula for her, but an exciting task of giving every bride a unique bouquet that is customized to their particular style. I used Black Creek Flowers for my wedding flowers and I was definitely not disappointed! I had a very special bouquet in mind for my wedding, one that included peacock feathers and orchids and it was cascading. I was so excited to get to see my bouquet and once I did I was SO happy. Erica and her staff did an amazing job! I met with Erica a couple of times regarding the flowers and she is very creative and was very open to everything that I wanted. She is very knowledgable in what she does and she helped me pick the perfect flowers for my wedding. Everyone at Black Creek was professional when I spoke with them on the phone with questions and Erica was absolutely wonderful! I would absolutely use them again and I would recommend them to anyone! I adore Erica! She was absolutely wonderful. When my mom and I first met with Erica we had a bunch of photos printed off of things we liked and way too many ideas. She helped us narrow down a vision and create a plan. We ended up going with an eclectic, classic feel. A week before the wedding we brought Black Creek a bunch of antique vases, tea kettles and pieces that could be used to hold flowers. Erica made everything come alive, and within our budget! The ceremony & reception decor were beautiful! Erica is friendly, creative, on-time, stays in budget and I would highly recommend her!

I was never so happy as when I walked up to the venue of my daughter's wedding to see such beautiful flowers! It was absolutely beautiful! The bouquet, boutonnieres and corsages where perfect!! Erica was extremely professional, very friendly and knowledgeable and her flowers were very reasonable! I just loved, loved, loved her. And, no, she is not related. I hadn't even met her until I went to speak with her about providing the flowers for my daughter's wedding. So very glad we hired Erica!!!

The flowers for my wedding were absolutely gorgeous! Erica, the owner, did such a great job with the bouquets, isle decorations, center pieces and decorating the wedding cake. Hers flowers and how she decorated our wedding cake was perfect. My husband and I would highly recommend Black Creek Flowers and Sweets.

I absolutely LOVED working with Erica from Black Creek Flowers & Sweets! Her work is stunning; she was down to earth and easy to work with and even last minute called me with some adjustments she had made based on how everything came together in person. She helped me come up with ways to "wow" my guests at my outdoor ceremony site and she gave me pointers on how to get the look I wanted on my budget. She was flexible, easy to work with and had an incredible vision. I would hands down recommend her to anyone who is looking for a florist in the Richmond, VA area! I wish I had another big event coming up soon so that I could work with her again!

Black creek Flowers and Sweets in Mechanicsville, VA. did a wonderful job on our wedding flowers. I felt that they were very reasonable on price and the flower arrangements were absolutely stunning!! The lady who I worked with on planning delivered and set up the flowers herself! There was one small oversight where my throw bouquet was forgotten but I just went ahead and threw one of my bridesmaids instead. After my wedding I called and told them that it was missing and she was very apologetic and asked what she could do to make it up to me and sent me a check for reimbursement. I felt that everyone was very professional and helped patiently EVERY time I called to change or add to my contract/order. Every one was so friendly even the dog that greets you when you come in :) Altogether a great experience!!! Would definitely recommend!!

Beautiful Flowers!!
Erica did an amazing job creating the centerpieces and floral decorations at our wedding this past weekend. I don't know very much about flowers, so I had a very vague idea about what I wanted when we had our initial conversation, but Erica brought it to life!! I wanted to have a mix of different colors in my bouquet that would bring out our wedding colors (burgundy and navy) and it was absolutely stunning and perfect. We had a Jewish ceremony, so we asked her to decorate our chuppah with some flowers as well. I had actually gotten inspiration from some friends who got married last year, and that friend came up to me and told me that our chuppah looked like what she was going for at her wedding & she liked ours better! Finally, Erica was super flexible with us when we made changes to our table counts due to significantly cutting down our guest list and when I requested that she provide us with rose petals for our grand exit a few weeks before our wedding. The florals were very affordable and reasonable and a great value for the quality we received. I highly recommend that anyone who is planning to get married in the Richmond area reach out to Erica for a consultation.

Lovely Flowers, Flexible Service
Black Creek Flowers was a great vendor find! I wanted floral to add to the event, but didn't want to break the bank. Erica was respectful of this and able to work within my budget, providing good advice on where to prioritize and where to scale back. She has great taste, and the flowers turned out beautiful as expected. Many guests commented on how lovely they were.

Black Creek made selecting flowers very easy. The owner looked at a few ideas I had on pinterest. I was flexible with what I wanted. She was very professional and spent an adequate amount of time with me even though my order was not large. The value was excellent and the flowers were beautiful. The only reason that I didn't rate all 5 stars on quality is that I think there was a miscommunication or misunderstanding about part of my order regarding sprays and foliage and flowers to decorate a piece of fencing. This part of the order didn't include all that I thought it would. One of our wedding planners picked up the order and I think that if she knew what she should have been looking for, that Black Creek would have fixed it right away. It all turned out fine and all the florals were beautiful. I would still highly recommend them.

I loved working with this Florist! She was so gracious, had us into her studio to discuss flowers over glasses of sweet tea -- and she helped capture the exact vision of flowers that I was going for. What I was most impressed with were her prices -- she was very willing to work with the budget I had set and figure out what flowers would work in what decoration spots to make sure I stayed within budget. I loved the hairpiece she made for me to wear, as well. I recommend this florist!
