Diana with Black Calla Events is amazing and such a talent in the florals & decor industry. My husband and I had to completely shift gears with our wedding planning due to COVID, which meant we canceled our original destination wedding and began planning an entirely different one in Washington, DC. The events/wedding coordinator at our venue had wonderful things to say about Black Calla Events and recommended I reach out to Diana because the two have worked together in the past; so I did. Diana was immediately responsive and remained so throughout our time working together. She responded to every email/text immediately and answered every question or concern I had.
Because I had already planned out florals for a tropical destination wedding, I had a little difficulty reframing my thinking about what our florals/decor should look like given we were now having a true fall wedding in the city (October 17, 2020). But Diana was extremely patient and helpful as I bounced ideas around, changed my mind here and there, and of course, tried to stay within budget. We communicated regularly via emails, text messages, and phone calls to plan out my vision, right down to the exact greenery and florals I wanted in my bouquet. I appreciated that she was respectful of our wishes to keep costs as low as possible without losing any of the integrity. I never felt pressured to choose a certain bouquet style or go with more expensive decor--she allowed me to guide her while she used her professional eye to refine my vision.
In terms of value, I think we got our full money's worth here. Florals are likely going to be one of the most expensive parts of your wedding and with that comes understanding the reality that fresh flowers are not cheap...and fresh flowers that aren't in season are also not cheap. So while we may have gone a little over budget with florals it was all more than worth it in the end!
Due to COVID (and also because I love surprises), I never saw exactly what my bouquet, hair piece (yep, she designed and created a beautiful floral headpiece that complimented my bouquet so perfectly!), corsages, boutonnières, decor, etc looked like. But when they were delivered to my suite on Wedding Day...I was absolutely blown away by how everything came together and looked 100x better than I ever imagined! I've never seen a bouquet like the one Diana created for me so that made my day even more special. I shared with Diana that I loved the rustic yet elegant look and that I really only had 2 requests for what my bouquet included: a king protea flower and pampas grass. She delivered exactly what I asked for + more!
Diana and I discussed delivery times about 2 weeks prior to Wedding Day and everything was delivered at exactly the time we agreed upon. I am so happy with my decision to work with Diana & Black Calla Events--she's such a sweet person and a true talent. If you're looking for a florist, you literally need not look any further. Thank you Diana & Black Calla Events for being such a special part of the most beautiful day of our lives!

The flowers were a main feature through the whole venue and perfectly brightened the whole evening. I loved all of the vibrant colors and am very very glad I thought ahead to get the art done with them because I would want to have a piece of that with me as long as I can. Gorgeous, colorful and wonderfully arranged. Diana did a wonderful job of answering any questions I had, always responded quickly, and put me at ease with her experience and capability. The florals were something I was really looking forward to being a central part of the night's decor/atmosphere and Diana did a phenomenal job with them. -

Incredible Florals!
Diana did the florals for our wedding, and her work was absolutely incredible. She understood exactly what we wanted and worked with the aesthetics of the venue perfectly; we could not have asked for or imagined better. They also went above and beyond to help us package and take home items we wanted to keep. The florals and greenery we got were so fresh and beautiful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Diana at Black Calla Events. She brought my entire floral vision to life so beautifully, using all of my favorite flowers to create a deep, rich, and truly bountiful bouquet and centerpieces. Every arrangement felt intentional and full of personality—exactly what I dreamed of.
My guests could not stop commenting on how stunning the florals were. They loved them so much that they were genuinely ecstatic to take home centerpieces after the wedding! It was such a joy to see that level of excitement.

I had a truly amazing experience working with Diana and her team. Not only is she incredibly responsive and quick to make any changes needed, but her team also goes above and beyond to ensure you can have a beautiful stress free day!
Although I got ready at a separate location from my wedding venue, Diana and her team were able to make time to drop off my hair piece in the morning so I could still receive it fresh and have it applied by a professional. And they were always so kind about everything! Diana has been such a pleasure to work with, I never felt like it was an burden ask her for anything we needed or reach out with last minute questions. She was always super quick to respond and happy to accommodate in anyways possible.
Long story short- book with Black Calla Events and you can't go wrong. They'll be sure to make you're vision a reality and they're a dream vendor to work with. -

Perfect Perfect Perfect!!
I wanted a very colorful floral arrangement with a very specific color of fuchsia. Diana worked with us until she found just the right combination of colors. Even when we had to move our wedding inside due to weather, she was flexible and stayed from the beginning to set up until the reception. I was so thrilled when I entered the ceremony. To see the flowers combined with the gold chairs made my heart melt. It was just as I imagined. I can’t thank Diana enough. -

Diana of Black Calla Events was an incredibly kind, hard working, and dedicated vendor. She met with us months in advance to give us advice and ideas of what her services could look like. As the date approached she was in communication often, accommodated to our specific requests, and worked hard to make our dreams a reality. We asked for customized flower decor for a hand-built chuppah and she worked from sketches to make the most STUNNING florals. She also created hanging greenery that draped from the ceiling of the venue in a magical way. Lastly, she made timeless, classy bouquets and boutineers that smelled incredible and stayed fresh throughout the wedding. She will give you photos in advance of the bouquet arrangements so that you can see exactly what you want. She has a minimum price that is important to discuss and respect from the beginning. I discovered Black Calla online and had the pleasure of meeting Diana when I needed help decorating for my son's wedding reception, which I was hosting at my home and garden. Diana was an absolute delight to work with—she visited my home promptly, shared thoughtful ideas, and provided a detailed quote within a couple of days.
Due to the threat of rain, I ended up renting tents for the garden. Diana came up with a creative and budget-friendly way to decorate them beautifully. Her floral arrangements, both indoors and in the garden, were absolutely stunning and became the highlight of the event. She skillfully assembled everything in just a few hours on the morning of the reception and returned the next day to take everything down.
I was so impressed with her professionalism, creativity, and warmth. I will definitely be calling Diana for my next event! -

Diana and the entire team with Black Calla Events were integral in the design and aesthetic of our October wedding in DC. We found Black Calla Events from an internet search, and within minutes, Diana emailed back and wanted to set up a phone call to discuss our needs and vision for the evening. Diana was prompt in all her responses, detailed in her quotes and pricing, and thoughtful in her floral selections to match our vision. Diana was also extremely flexible with our last-minute changes, provided new quotes, and helped ensure we understood our decisions. My favorite moment of working with Diana was my desire to have a burnt orange flower that wasn't too burnt that it looked more brown than orange, but wasn't too bright to go against the theme. When we walked into the reception hall for the first time, I first said, "Diana found the perfect shade of orange." This alone highlights her understanding of each couple's needs and how to make them come to life.
We cannot recommend Diana and the entire team at Black Calla Events enough. They did a phenomenal job handling our ceremony and reception, were timely in all their responses and setting up our event, and even checked in after the wedding to make sure our marriage was off to a great start. Diana is the best! She was invaluable in helping me select colors, florals, and designs. She also made really amazing recommendations, especially when it was quite hot the week before my wedding and one of the flowers needed to be swapped out for orchids -- the orchids looked amazing and so many people commented on how beautiful they looked in my bouquet. She was kind, responsive, and on top of everything. Fantastic Experience!
Fantastic experience with Diana! She's responsive and enthusiastic about accommodating all sorts of floral requests. We asked for altar flowers, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and centerpieces of white and yellow flowers, and she crafted them so beautifully! Even my French bulldog got a cute collar that made him look quite festive! She delivered the altar flowers, bouquets, boutonnieres, and corsages at the church for our ceremony in a timely manner, and then she and her assistants proceeded to our cocktail hour and reception site, where they beautifully adorned and accented the venues! Beautiful bouquets!
We did a micro wedding package where Diana provided my bridal bouquet, groom’s boutonnière, and mini bouquet for my junior bridesmaid. All I told her to go off of was white flowers and that my theme in my head was Great Gatsby. Could not have been more excited to see her beautiful creations perfectly capturing my theme with feathers and pearls! -

Absolutely stunning
We worked with Diana for our wedding and she was amazing from start to finish. I had a very basic vision but Diana knew exactly which questions to ask to pull out our style and make sure our wedding day florals were on point. And they were stunning! Weeks later and I don’t want to throw my very wilted bouquet away because the image of the flowers brings me back to our special day.

Look No Further!!!
Diana was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was very communicative throughout the entire process selecting florals and discussing any changes based on florals in season given that our wedding was in December. On the day of the wedding, Diana was on top of everything! She showed up early to the church where the ceremony would take place and began setting everything up without us ever needing to get involved! She didn’t want us lifting a finger! Being someone who knows nothing about flowers, I had no idea where to start in the hiring process. But Diana helped us figure out what florals would work best based on our wedding budget and theme we wanted, and they turned out better than I envisioned them! She even rented out some lanterns to us to add to the romantic feel we wanted at the reception. You will not regret working with Diana and I will definitely continue looking to Diana for any floral arrangements I need in the future!! -

We had the honor to work with Diana and the Black Calla Events team on a 2 day event. Our client booked Black Calla Events to design a bridal bouquet & ceremony arrangements. The team also designed and delivered the MOST beautiful summer color theme arrangements with open bloomed peonies. Diana and her team were great to work with during the pre planning and day of event. On the 2nd event day, we experienced a very hot day with high temperatures. Diana and her team not only dropped off and delivered the table arrangements, they waited closer to the event start time to display the arrangements and spray them to keep them looking fresh. We highly recommend Black Calla Events for your special occasion. -

She made beautiful arrangements for our rehearsal dinner and then did a stunning bouquet and flower arch for our ceremony. I’m so thrilled we hired Diana to do our wedding flowers. Not only were our arrangements beautiful, she was incredibly accommodating when we had a COVID scare the week before the wedding day. I recommended Black Calla Events to my bride for her May 2021 wedding. I never worked with them previously for other events. However, I was thoroughly impressed by their work and their affordable prices! Throughout the wedding planning process, Black Calla was responsive, attentive to detail, and an overall pleasure to work with! From beginning to finish, Diana and her team delivered EXCELLENT customer service! Out of all of the vendors I considered, Diana stuck closest to my budget without compromising my creative vision and gave me excellent feedback on what would look best with my decor and venues. She was always very responsive via text and was punctual for all of our appointments. On top of that, my guests raved about how gorgeous my centerpieces were to the point where several of them asked to take them home, haha. Diana is wonderful
Words cannot begin to describe how stunning my wedding flowers were. Black Calla Events did an extraordinary job with them.
Diana is so kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to get my order out and very personable. The owner really tries to understand what you're looking for and has exceeded my expectations every time. Diana made my vision come true, flower arrangements were more beautiful than I could have imagined! Family and friends couldn't get over how beautiful the flowers were for our wedding.
This florist is AMAZING. I can't say enough kind words or express my gratitude better.

Diana is simply wonderful! If you are looking for a personalized experience with someone who cares about you, your family and your vision, then you can't go wrong with Black Calla Events. Diana brings her years of experience at a large flower company to her own company, which allows her to dedicate her time and attention to your big day. We were in the finishing stages of wedding planning when the world changed due to Covid-19. We postponed our Spring 2020 wedding to September of 2020 and then finally to next year. Diana was so supportive and flexible when it came to helping us work out a new date and make new plans. Prior to our plans changing Diana was right there with us at our venue going through our day, helping us plan for set up and offering her creative ideas to make the most of our space! I am excited to now start planning a fall themed wedding with her for next year. -

Diana is an absolutely amazing florist.
This is the second wedding she has done for my family and it was such a pleasure working with her both times. The wedding reception room looked so beautiful and the flower arrangements she put together were absolutely stunning. Everyone at the wedding was talking about how gorgeous the flowers were and how perfect the room looked. Diana always made us feel comfortable and provided guidance when and where we had questions. She provided examples when we only had a vague concept for the centerpieces; she was mind reader understanding perfectly what we wanted. My daughter told her what flowers she wanted blush roses, hydrangeas, and greenery. The bouquets were so pretty. The pictures show how the striking centerpieces beautified the room. Diana, also worked within our floral budget, was available to answer all our questions and was there at the wedding venue to make sure everything was perfect. If you are looking for someone to inspire you or looking for someone to guide you, she is the one. She provides high quality flowers and service at an affordable price. I would highly recommend her to anyone planning their wedding.
