Amazing food, wonderful staff

We worked with Bistro for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding during our October 2024 wedding. The food was AMAZING. Multiple guests said it was some of the best wedding food they ever had. The staff went above and beyond their role in making sure our guests were taken care of. The owners are also lovely to work with. I would highly recommend working with Bistro for your wedding or other events!

Tammy is the Best...

...and the food is out of this world. Our guests raved about the meal (we chose the honey almond chicken and the sliced pot roast). Tammy took care of all of the details for us, and we didn't have to worry about a thing. Everyone was so friendly, and the food was AMAZING. Luckily, we live in Concord, so we can go anytime. Highly recommend!!

Alan Bishop and the staff at Bistro Catering did an AMAZING job with our wedding. They were incredibly attentive, took great care of our guests and ourselves, and the food was wonderful. We can not thank them enough for their hard work!

Wonderful food and service. We were so happy with the set up, delivery, clean up and bar services provided for my daughters wedding this past weekend at The Saratoga Springs in Mt. Pleasant. From start to finish what Alan promised us was fulfilled. Thank you and your team Alan. The honey almond chicken, caribbean port tenderloins, potatoes and vegetables were outstanding. There was hardly any food left over. Thank you again. We had a ball and loved your food.

Alan from Bistro is the ultimate professional! His food was phenomenal, the presentation was fantastic and his staff was on top of clean up, courteous and extremely professional! I have since referred him on several occasions! There is no other caterer in the area who will give you what he provides! Truly fantastic!! We also used him for bar services and it was seamless! I can't sing him enough praises!! Thank you!

The bistro has great food and the service was wonderful. The only complaint was we did our rehearsal dinner at the restaurant and it took over an hour to get the food but it was still great.

Alan was great to work with. He answered all my questions and concerns promptly. He did not hurry us through the tasting, and he encouraged us to ask questions. The food was amazing!! The honey almond chicken is the best!! Definitely recommend Union Street Bistro!!

Alan and his crew were great to work with from beginning to end! I had many questions and changes throughout planning and Alan worked quickly to respond and accomodate changes. They initially looked expensive but were such a breeze to work with and included so much more than other caterers we met with (example - cake cutting is included!). Union Street Bistro runs a tight ship and we had nothing but compliments about the food and service for our wedding.

I've been to a lot of weddings, a lot and the food is always horrible. The food was my biggest fear for the wedding. I didn't want guests to leave hungry because the food wasn't up to par. Well all those worries went away when we tried the Bistro. I'm still getting calls from family and friends asking where the restaurant is so they can go for dinner. The food was simply delicious. The staff is phenomenal. Everything was just perfect wonderful.

Alan and his team did an amazing job today at my wedding. The staff was incredible. So polite and accommodating. The food was delicious everyone was ranting and raving over it. I can't thank them enough. They truly went above and beyond for our big day. If you need a caterer for any occasion your look is over.

Bistro Catering did a wonderful job catering our daughter's wedding! We did breakfast foods at the 6pm dinner, and everyone raved about how delicious the food was. I must say that I was concerned that breakfast food wouldn't be "special", but they proved me wrong. Also did a great job bartending. BC served the rehearsal dinner the evening before, and it was fantastic! Great service and food!!! Thank you!

Alan and his staff did a wonderful job on our brunch wedding reception. The food was absolutely amazing! They accommodated for food allergies without any problem! I would highly recommend Bistro Catering & Events!

THEIR FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!

We sampled their food at the Charlotte Bridal Show. It was by far the best. The staff that served at the wedding were very professional and extremely helpful. The presentation was beautiful. The food was kept well filled at all times. They even cut the wedding cake for us.

At the end of the evening, they boxed up plates for the bride and groom and boxed up the leftovers for us as well. Then one of the young men helped load it into my car!

You can't go wrong with this vendor!

All I can say was my food at our reception was AMAZING !!!! I wasn't sure if the food would be as good as it was at our tasting but it was simply amazing ! We had some left over and we ate it for several more meals and everytime it was just as good as our wedding day. Alan and his staff were top notch and I can't say enough about there attention to detail and professionalism! I would recommend the bistro a million times over ! We have actually been married one month this week and we made reservations to go eat there this weekend! Love the bistro!!

Bistro Catering and Events is outstanding! Alan was so easy to work with and always responsive to calls and e-mails throughout the planning phase of our wedding. We didn't have to worry about a thing. And the food and service . . . it was amazing! Our guests repeatedly commented about the food and the professionalism and responsiveness of the staff. Bistro Catering & Events is the BEST! They catered both of my daughters' weddings and one of their rehearsal dinners. Everything was great! The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the attention to detail was amazing. Alan Bishop and his team do a great job and you will not be disappointed if you decide to use them.

Bistro Catering was wonderful to work with. We met with Alan for our first tasting, and he provided a variety of foods for us to try. The food was so delicious, we knew right then we would book them for our wedding. Our communication with Alan throughout the entire planning process was fantastic. We wanted to try another item that we did not have a chance to try at the tasting, and he set up a time for us to come in before the restaurant opened so that we could taste it before officially putting it on our menu. The menu has a huge selection of items for you to choose from. The catering staff was very professional and the food was delicious! We would highly recommend Bistro Catering & Events. Thank you to all those who helped make our wedding a success!

Absolutely positively loved working with the bistro. Cannot say enough about how fabulous they are. The testing was so much fun and the communication leading up to the wedding was on point. The day of the wedding the staff absolutely floored us with making everything perfect. Most importantly the food was impeccable. Loved working with Alan, especially, along with the rest of the staff. We were beyond pleased! Love!!

Bistro Catering was absolutely amazing at our wedding. We had to be very selective because our wedding was held in a barn so there were a lot of moving peices. Alan and Bistro catering made everything perfect on our wedding day. From the setup (it rained so we had to move inside at the last minute), to the service, to the timeliness of their whole operation, we were very very impressed. Several of our guest complimented the food and said it's the best wedding food they'd ever had. Bistro even provided a bartender that made sure our guests were served quickly and our signature cocktail was made. Again, we were so impressed with Bistro and everything they did to make our special day perfect. I would recommend to anyone!

Bistro Catering is AMAZING!!! From start to finish the process was so easy. After having a tasting with another caterer and having a horrible experience we were directed to Bistro catering by our venue. Alan was super professional and a pleasure to work with. He got back to me within an hour and we had a tasting set up a few days later. Our guests raved about how good the food was. The food was fabulous at the tasting as well as on the day of our wedding. They catered to our every need and we would recommend them to anyone looking to have great food and a great catering service at their wedding or event.

Alan was fantastic to work with. I know I had a lot of questions for him and was constantly e-mailing back and forth. He was always responsive and answered all of my questions. I appreciated all of his suggestions and recommendations. His restaurant is in Concord which is about an hour or so away from where our venue's location. Alan, made suggestions on what food would travel best and which foods would be best for our buffet style wedding.

More importantly ALL of our guests are still talking about how good the food was! They were very impressed and keep telling us it was the best "wedding" food they have ever had.

Bistro was definitely the best quality and best price out of all the other competitors. We will definitely be using them again to cater any future events we host. My husband and I plan on going to the restaurant in Concord sometime soon we enjoyed the food so much!

Alan was great to work with. We contacted a number of caterers, many of whom didn't respond or didn't respond in a timely fashion. Alan with Bistro not only responded, but arranged a tasting quickly. He gave us a large spread and everything was great. Everyone loved the food at our wedding. We had a great combination. We didn't want a traditional menu and Alan worked with us to personalize our menu perfectly. They say most brides and grooms don't eat, but we absolutely did and it was delicious! The staff was great as well! We would highly recommend Bistro Catering! Don't be afraid to ask for something not on the menu or to tweak something on it; they are very accommodating!

Prices per person were very reasonable. I used them for both the rehearsal dinner and the reception. We had 1 meat, 2 hot sides, 1 cold side, rolls, tea, lemonade or water. It was all really good. We still go to the restaurant every now and then to eat. Always good food. Staff were very professional and knew what to do!

Alan and the entire Bistro staff were wonderful to work with! The food was incredible and the service was outstanding. We knew as soon as we did a tasting that we would be using the Bistro to cater our wedding. The catering staff was extremely attentive and professional. We loved that they prepared our (the bride and groom) plates while we had our first dance. We were able to get a few extra bites in before mingling with our guests. The staff packed us to go plates to eat once we arrived at the hotel after our reception. We are so glad they did that for us! We were starving and the food was delicious (even cold!). Our guests still rave about how wonderful the food was! I would absolutely recommend the Bistro to friends, family, and other couples.

THE FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!

The entire staff was very professional and super nice ever since we met them at the Charlotte Bridal Show. They were the preferred vendor for my venue and I would not change a thing.

The taste testing was wonderful and they delivered an awesome reception meal. They even packed the bride and groom a to-go box! They took care of handling our cake and toasting glasses.

I would recommend ANYONE to use Bistro. They are wonderful.

If you don't get a chance to use them for catering.... Go try their restaurant. You won't be disappointed.

From start of planning to end everything was perfect. Alan and his staff are so professional and everyone loved the food. Alan stopped by later in the evening to make sure everything was going well. His service and food was more than I could have expected it to be.

Allen with Bistro Catering was so great to work with. I met him at the Charlotte Bridal Fair and immediately new I wanted to contact this vendor. I sat down with him, and he took the time for a tasting and made all my plans within an hour! His pricing was very reasonable for the amount of extras that you get such as real china etc... The staff at my wedding was amazing. They took care of everything, and the food was AMAZING!! I received nothing but compliments the whole night! Everyone loved it. Even my husband and he is picky!! I would recommend to everyone! I will also use this vendor again in the future!

Best vendor We booked for our wedding. No regrets! The staff were so attentive to my groom and I and our guests. They went out of their way to help organize our wedding day for us to allow us to enjoy our day to the fullest. They even attended to our special bar requests. We are still hearing about how good the food was week later.

With this being my biggest expense, I was most nervous on how food for over 200 people would turn out. I knew when I tasted it for our trial it was great, but how do you make it that great again for that many? It was amazing. Everyone loved the food....so much so that we barely had any left. I think people got thirds and fourths! Alan was AMAZING to work with. He made this process so easy and he delivered! His team of servers were really great and so sweet.

Alan and the team at Bistro were really wonderful to work with. Not only was the food excellent, but the presentation was as well. Even though they were catering 4 (5?) other events the day of our wedding, Alan made a point to stop by and make sure that everything was going smoothly (it was). His suggestions throughout the planning process were extremely helpful and we have had more than a few guests comment that it was the best 'reception food' that they've ever had. I would highly recommend the Bistro for your next event!

Alan is absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious and he was a pleasure to work with! The staff is very professional. The guests at my wedding have been talking about the food ever since!

The bistro catered my daughter's wedding. The food was wonderful and presented and tasted exactly as promised. There were several choices on various menues. Serving staff and supplies were helpful

We got honey almond chicken, mashed potatoes, veg medley, and salad with unlimited bar: wine and beer. Everyone still talks about how great the food was. When booking them, we had some requests to have some better wines as part of our package, we had to pay a little extra, but they were willing to do that for us which was great and made my mother very happy. My only complaint is that they folded the napkins wrong and it made the setups look like a banquet so I wasn't pleased with that but I doubt guests noticed. For the cost, we felt like we got a great deal with them and they have the best rates if you want open bar! Alan is also wonderful, we loved him. Go to a tasting at Bistro, it is very helpful!

We are using the Bistro Catering for our June Wedding, we travel to their restaurant frequently to eat and knew it would be a top choice to cater our wedding. Alan has been nothing but helpful and quick to respond during the wedding process, which I'm sure all of you know that planning brides know how important that is! I will be coming back to write another review after the wedding, but I am sure it will not disappoint, the tasting sure did not!

A pro to booking the Bistro: they provide all china, silverware, napkins, linens for buffet tables, set-up & clean-up...DONE! :)

While the food is typically wonderful and the caterer is very responsive, there are several negative aspects. We were having our rehearsal dinner at Union Street Bistro and they were catering our wedding the next night. They refused to provide highchairs for the wedding reception stating that Saturday is a busy time for the restaurant. They also were not very clear on pricing because they gave the wedding reception pricing with tax and service fees included but the rehearsal pricing (with the venue fee) did not include the taxes and service fees, which we did not know until a couple weeks from the wedding. When questioning the pricing, the caterer was somewhat rude and condescending. Everyone loved the food provided at both events, but I hated the lack of professionalism and I did not appreciate asking my guests to bring highchairs to our reception.

Not that great

Food was over priced and cold and this is the only catering company the venue use but it’s not that bad, just make sure to be in your seat when the food come. The owner was very nice and attentive.

Make sure a supervisor/lead introduces himself and you know who the key contact is running the event. Though the food was very good and cocktail hour and dinner went smoothly we ran into a few issues with clean up, didn't get extra food boxed up and have no idea what happened to it and they started leaving before end of event. Disappointed that Alan did not get back to us with any explanation of resolution.

We got married in August 2016 in the Charlotte area and chose Bistro Catering and Events a few days after our initial meeting. Starting off, we were so pleased with Alan, the food options and price point, and our tasting went very well. We had several favorite foods and the only problem was narrowing down and deciding what we wanted to serve.

Fast forward to wedding day...nothing horrible happened but nothing was great either. About 5-6 high school/young college age kids arrived and no one appeared to be in charge. The food was luke warm, but not delicious and not comparable to the food that we had at our tasting. The catering staff did not clear plates quickly. Until the end of the evening when they began fully clearing tables, including table cloths, etc. while people were still sitting, dancing and enjoying the evening. They were just trying to leave early. They left behind multiple table linens and the hangers. Furthermore, we were supposed to have leftover food packaged up for the wedding party and us. It was all thrown away. We were also supposed to have appetizers from cocktail hour set aside for the wedding party, which never happened.

In follow up, Alan appeared remorseful and we were informed that there were numerous events that day and they became short staffed. However, we have not heard from him since after he asked what had gone wrong.

If you go with Bistro, know that you may not be a priority. Your event is important to you, but just money to Bistro. Our wedding was definitely not a priority for them.

We had our rehearsal dinner for our son at The Bistro. The food was excellent and the staff very kind and helpful, however Alan was not good at all to work with. He refused to return emails, text messages, and voice mails. Tables were not set up when promised, decor that was discussed was not provided, and he never checked in one time when we were setting the room up, and didn't respond to us even when requested. He completely ignored us as we arrived for our event. Anyone in the capacity of working with a family at such an important time should have more empathy for what this time means to the parents and son. Alan put a lot of unnecessary stress on us this day before our sons wedding, and I would never recommend working with him on what he probably considers a small party of 60. Maybe it's just not worth his time and effort. The staff working with us were very sweet but were worked to death. For our party of 60 we had 2 people, and they worked as hard as they could. For the price that was paid I would think they could have given us a couple of more wait staff. The room was very hot and stuffy the entire night. We requested the air be turned down 3 times but that never happened either. Our guests complimented the venue and the food, but getting to the point of the actual event was very stressful. I'm not saying the entire evening was bad, the food was very good, I just wouldn't expect anything other than placing a meal order from Alan.

Do not make my mistake!

Where do I even start! I was so excited about hiring Union Street for our big day. We went in and met with Alan and immediately knew we wanted him! Well come to find out we wanted Alan not Union Street Bistro - fast forward to four months before the wedding. I had sent numerous emails asking questions, wanting to finalize my menu, ya know all the things an excited bride does - no response - nothing at all! After talking to my Venue, they informed me that Alan had left and the catering division was now being overseen by someone else... seriously no email nothing to let me know this change had taken place - which I guess also explains not getting any response from my previous emails... well Tammy had received every single one of them and I guess I just wasn't important enough for her to respond to - when she did finally respond I found her to be quite rude and not someone I wanted to deal with. I should have gone with my gut instinct right then and lost me deposit and found another caterer! Responsiveness was awful and I had to finish every email with please let me know you received this... really?? I should not have to ask you to respond!! Now to the wedding - we ordered for our menu honey almond chicken, portabella beef tips, vegetable medley and mashed potatoes - what we got was frozen chicken patties with no seasoning or the honey almond coating and beef stew! It was absolutely the most humiliating thing to know you have built up your guest about this amazing menu and then they were served this distasteful mess they claimed to be food. When you looked around everyone had just pushed their plates to the side and were loading up on the bread - I could not believe what was happening. I of course emailed Union Street the Monday after the wedding and was told I would be contacted that very same day by the owners - wrong! Almost two weeks later I received an email with a letter attached stating they were very sorry we were not happy and even offered us a partial refund (now all of this was done after y husband left them a bad facebook review because he was upset they would not respond to any of my emails - anyway I have still not heard back from them or received any refund! An apology for sending frozen chicken to my wedding would have been a great start but I haven't even got that yet. Just don't make the same mistake I did - shop around and find a caterer that actually cares about what they are doing! (I'm posting pictures just to show how unappetizing this food looked)
