The begining

We scheduled a tasting and i could not say anything bad about them! James was so nice and honest, he was so helpful with everything and we are so excited to allow James and his staff to be part of our big day! The food is AMAZING!

Amazing food, and great service!

We loved working with Kim for our wedding! Big Ten had amazing prices and great food quality. We had apps, a full 3 entree meal, and late night snacks all through them! Will be using Big Ten for so many future events!

Big Ten is awesome! They catered and provided the beverages for our daughters wedding last weekend. Everything went fantastic! Kim said she was on it, and she was.....we came to the reception and all was fantastic. Our bartender, Doug and she knows her name, were so fun. The food was awesome too. Highly recommend Big Ten Catering! Thank you for all you did! Can not wait to book you for our next event!

We used Big Ten for our bar service and they did a great job! They were professional. We ran out of our keg earlier than expected and they talked to us about it, and helped figure out the situation. I would recommend them to a friend.

I can't possibly say enough about Toni and Big Ten Catering. They provided our appetizers, dinner, bar service, and late night pizza. The food was so amazing, Toni was so amazing, and James (the owner) was there to carve our prime rib, which was also amazing. They had so many good suggestions and were willing to do anything we asked. They made us feel like family and my parents were thrilled with their service. I would recommend them to anyone. The prices were unbeatable, but it is really the value of their service that went above expectations.

So much help. Toni was our go to gal. She knew what needed to be done, and did just that. Our linens and set up was exactly what we wanted. Her and the staff were very professional and kept up with cleaning and stocking the buffet. 100% recommend them!!

We love Big Ten Catering! Toni & James were extrememly helpful in planning our wedding menu. I received many complements that our wedding food was delicious! We agreed! We were not charged an "uncorking" fee when we bought our own wine. They were absolutely wonderful to work with - we could not have asked for better service!!!

We used Big Ten/All Occasions for linens and wait staff (food came from DeGidio's). I worked with Niki and Kim, both were very helpful. The staff we had on site were very helpful and I didn't have to worry about a thing related to dinner or appetizers! We had them get the food from the delivery people and set it up at our appetizer table/buffet, they cleaned up plates, they scooped the ice cream for our ice cream sundae bar, and they packed up as many linens as they could after dinner and took them away with them. They also let us pick up our table cloths early and drop them off later so that we could setup and tear down when they were not physically there. Based on what they actually did I feel like I overpaid a little, but they really were great nonetheless!

I suppose I should be more harsh, but I'm too much of a Minnesotan. I was posted and paid the final bill the week before the wedding, but then the next week received emails with questions that we should have discussed previously (including a pretty significant mix up on the beer type). This did not alter the final bill, but I didn't want to be exchanging emails about a subject I thought had been settled 5 months prior six days before the wedding. Staff service was excellent.

The owner of the company and his assistant are very unorganized. We met with one planner and she ended up quiting before our event. I was never notified that she quit and when I called to check up and make sure everything was fine James (owner) sounded surprised and didn't know anything about my event. The staff showed up 2 hours late and I was told there was going to be 7 of them and there were 5. When I called James and told him what was going on he told me that I needed to chill and if I had any problems to let him know tomorrow. That is really professional for an owner of a company to chill out. They ended up running out of the most popular wine because they didn't bring enough and they told me if they ran low more would be brought. Well it never showed up. The bartender, servers and food was great but with the lack of communication and how the owner of the company runs his business and treats people I would think twice before hiring them for your next event. I still have not recieved a phone call or email asking me how everything went.

We saw two very different sides of Big Ten Catering during the planning of our wedding and through the end. We contacted Big Ten at the recommendation of our caterer for our Beverage Catering. She connected us with James, the owner. It took multiple attempts to reach him by both email and phone. Once we got a response he sent an estimate stating 'Please email me back if you have any questions.' I responded with a question that same day, emailed again two weeks later, and 4 weeks later, when I still hadn't received a reply, I emailed to cancel. Instead of an apology email I received a defensive email from James the next day.

I also quickly received an email from Toni, James' angel. She apologized profusely on his behalf and has been responsive to all emails very quickly. Our event was perfect. Toni worked with our caterer to make a wine pour possible and our options were great as far as wine and beer options.

That being said, I would not work with them again. The beginning was too frustrating to recommend this company to anyone I care about.

BigTen Review

We used BigTen catering for alcohol vendor at our wedding. The day of they did a great job providing what we asked for and were a great day of event vendor. Our one warning to future considerations for BigTen would be that they were challenging to reach leading up to the event and planning. Often it took 2-3 attempts to reach them before you got a response. Overall, would recommend.

Unfortunately, we had many problems with BIg Ten. Out of all the wedding vendors we had for our large wedding, Niki and this company were the most difficult to work with. At the wedding, they ran out of a wine that we had requested for the evening a half hour into the cocktail hour. They ran out of white wine actually completely by dinner. They forgot to do the wine pour for dinner and we had to get extra people from the venue to help with pouring wine at dinner. They also Ran out of glasses!!! Rude bar tenders. We paid the extra payment AND extra tip up front to not have a tip jar on the bar in front of guests. They still put the tip jar out on the bar, and I overheard them telling guests after I requested they took it down that they can tip. They were the one major disappointment in our wedding. Stay away.

This is by far the worst catering service company! I sat on their bar today for a total of 3.5 hours today waiting to speak to the so called owner “James” about a catering service contract that they were not honoring. I bought drinks for everyone at the bar and at the end of everything I was made aware by Chad that James was not the owner of the business but the cook instead. The so called James had left the site after making me wait 3.5 hours to see him. I’d like to point out that their catering service coordinator Kim is the worst catering service coordinator there could be. Her demeanor is mediocre and unprofessional, she has no customer service ethics whatsoever. I would not recommend this place, even if it was the last place on earth to cater from. Bad business to choose from!! Contact at your own discretion.

This company was horrible to work with. I cannot possibly write everything that we were upset with but do not use them. Huge disappointment, especially on the most important day of your life.

WORST BARTENDING EVER!!!!!! 1-for the estimate the owner took his time to get back to us and was not easy to get in touch with, red flag. 2 - they lost our estimate and order 1 week before the wedding 3 - I had sent proper insurance/lisence information months ahead of time which they did not read and did not have 1 week before the wedding. Yes here is where we really should have ditched them and our very minimal deposit, but we didnt and paid for it. 4 - during the hosted cocktail 2 hour they ran out of vodka/gin within the first 45 min and blamed us for being a drinking crowd. 5- were over their estimate by $1000!!!!
