Nonstop energy from start to finish! We love Big J!!

DJ Big J was absolutely incredible and kept the energy up all night! The dance floor was packed from start to finish.

He was so easy and fun to work with leading up to the wedding, making sure every detail was dialed in and the timing of everything flowed perfectly. You can tell he really cares about getting it right.

DJs can truly make or break a reception, and he went above and beyond. The music, the energy, the transitions, everything was on point. He knows exactly how to read a crowd and keep the party going.

We loved working with him and couldn’t recommend him more. Truly the best of the best!!

Must have choice for DJ

Big J was the best choice we could have made for our wedding. Our guests are still talking about the music from our wedding weeks later. He had the entire crowd engaged with the music and was very attentive to our playlist/do not play list. Kept the part going

I hired Joel for our Oct 2025 wedding. I did the ceremony + cocktail, platinum reception package, and added uplighting. He came highly recommended from my planner and photographer who has personally used him at her wedding. He was very responsive and easy to work with. He was fine to add the uplighting last minute as well with no issues. He was able to download the weird format of my first dance song and time it all perfectly. The reception was insanely fun. He kept the vibes going all night. It felt like a night club. Several people remarked that they wished it lasted longer because of how good the DJ and ambiance was. I cannot recommend Joel enough!

1000/10 - Joel is the BEST!

When we were planning our destination wedding in San Juan, we were nervous to book vendors without meeting them. But as soon as we got on a call with Joel, he walked us through his process (which includes a super organized app to add all of your music to), and he was such a genuinely nice guy who wanted to bring our vision to life. I can’t emphasize enough how fun he made our reception - the dance floor stayed full, he actually DJ’d (not just played a playlist), and the vibes were killer. I wish we could relive it. The value was great and included all lighting coordination and ceremony/cocktail hour support. He is a full service DJ and puts on an incredible event, Look no further for your wedding DJ if you want to have a memorable party!

Amazing DJ!!!!

Joel was incredible!!!!! He kept the fun vibes going all night, the dance floor was full all night and everyone kept saying how amazing the music was! Want another party just so I can hire Big J again!

Hire him immediately! Joel was absolutely phenomenal! From beginning to end, he was responsive, understanding, and professional! He was the first vendor our wedding planner highly recommended, and with good reason! He read the room perfectly, and kept the party going until way past when we were supposed to leave! He was so accommodating when things went wrong, and did everything POSSIBLE to make sure we had the best time. His set up was gorgeous, the lights and lasers I HIGHLY recommend.....He made my wedding absolutely unforgettable! It's been a month and I still have friends telling me how he was the best DJ they've ever heard at a wedding!

One Big Dance Party!

Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without DJ Big J! From the very beginning, he made us feel completely at ease, like we were in the best hands, and he truly set the perfect tone for the night.

We had a multicultural wedding blending Filipino and Jewish traditions, and he mixed the music for the Hava Nagila and Money Dance so seamlessly! He found the perfect balance between honoring our cultures and keeping the energy high all night long especially with the Hora Loca!

His mixes were on point—we couldn’t stop dancing, and neither could our guests! He catered to everyone, from our friends who wanted to party to our older guests who appreciated the classics. It was amazing to see all generations on the dance floor together.

We also really appreciated his thoughtful input on lighting—it added just the right atmosphere and elevated the whole experience.

The Best DJ

BIG J IS THE BEST! My wedding was super small but big j kept it so much fun with all of the music and keeping the energy going. He was so friendly and just amazing to work with. I love that it was so easy to plan the music for the ceremony and reception. If I didn’t have a music preference it was great that he was willing to play some good music that would just keep everyone dancing and having a good time. Understood the assignment!!

I told Joel during our first conversation. I am having a small wedding, but I want it to feel like it’s a non stop party. He absolutely delivered!! His app was easy to use and I added all of the music I wanted from ceremony to the reception and he executed beautifully. I literally danced the entire night and the vibes where perfection! His behind the scenes captures of the night he posted on IG, although not included in the package were unexpected and a nice touch to relive the next day. If you want a party executed to your exact expectations and beyond you need Big J!

Only Big J could turn our wedding dancefloor into the most epic rave of our lives!

As a wedding photographer, I have worked with Big J in the wedding space for years. His work ethic, incredible personality, and contagious energy made me grow in immense respect for him and made us fast friends. No matter how dull the situation looks on a wedding day, I can count on him to know how to turn a party on once his moment starts. He has incredible talent, a broad musical range and knowledge, a precise way to gauge crowds, and a charismatic personality.

He’s the best team player, so when I got engaged, I had NO DOUBT he would handle all things sound and lighting on our wedding day. I did not give my fiancé a choice, literally. Like us, our diverse crowd loves many kinds of music, Latin romantics, perreadores, audiophiles, and EDM ravers. Joel has a very high-tech process where you’ll be able to share your musical taste and preferred selections from your Spotify or YouTube into his mobile app, which he’ll then use to create the perfect mix for your wedding night.

As our wedding day approached, we decided to add other musicians and entertainment aspects. Joel seamlessly integrated these different sets into the overall schedule. He also showed his flexibility when we threw him a big curveball the week of the wedding. One of my best friends, a studio DJ, asked if he could play a surprise mix for us. Joel was more than happy to incorporate it into his set, showing his adaptability and making many people happy. I was worried a pre-made mix would water down the energy, but Joel knew precisely how and when to blend it for a perfect experience.

Most people have this cheesy, preconceived idea of a wedding DJ, and knowing Joel for so many years, I was ready to defeat everybody’s expectations. I knew Big J wouldn’t disappoint, but I WAS NOT PREPARED for the epic rave he turned my dancefloor into. To this date, vendors and guests are still commenting on how they would never get over our wedding night. I’m pretty sure Joel ruined weddings for many people forever.

Do yourself a favor and book him now. His schedule is packed, and you will regret not having the best DJ in Puerto Rico on your wedding night.

Joel, I have told you this in person already, but we’re eternally grateful for the most epic night ever, perfectly tailored for us. Banger after banger!

Best DJ in Puerto Rico HANDS DOWN! Our wedding was a mix of English and Spanish music from Hip Hop, Freestyle, R&B, Reggaeton, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, etc. His ability to engage a crowd was phenomenal. The best dj

When our wedding planner, Barbie Diaz, said we were very lucky to have Joel available for our event date, she was not kidding when she said we needed to book him and that he is the BEST. We had an intimate Indian destination wedding in Puerto Rico and Joel seriously was AMAZING. Joel was super easy to work with! The platform he uses with his clients, Vibo, was a great way to collaborate on the music for the events, especially the ceremony. Joel was present throughout the ceremony and given that we had very specific instructions for the music, he was open to having a family member with him to help him play the right music at the right time. Although we had provided Joel selected ethnic music, Joel surprised us by the end of the night with all the amazing music he played. He truly took the time to understand the crowd, did the research, and brought about an amazing vibe, which truly was evident throughout the night! You are definitely in great hands if Joel is your DJ at your next event!

We Love Big J!

Joel - Big J - was a blast to work with! He is so professional, attentive, responsive, on time, and caring - but even more so, he's fun! He was so flexible with us adding on an extra hour, lighting, and cold sparklers to his package later on. He helped us cut down our first dance song so that we could practice to it during our dance lessons. He also helped us cut down our father and mother dance songs to the right timing. We were able to send suggestions of songs we liked for the set list and he perfectly executed it on the night of! Our guests had an absolute blast dancing to his set.

Joel was awesome and easy to work with!

We are so happy Joel DJed our wedding. We got married at the Hacienda Siesta Alegre which is a venue he has worked many times. He was very easy to work with and accommodating. He was okay with us bringing in a saxophone player that he had never met and playing alongside her. He also had this cool app where we could upload songs we liked or didn’t like with notes. He did an amazing job mixing the music and keeping the party going. He was reasonably priced and offer fun add ons such as the sparklers we added to go off during our first and last dances. We would hired Joel again in a heartbeat.

The best dj in pr!

Joel was amazing. We were initially worried that with doing a destination wedding and being from NY, there was not going to be the music that we wanted at our wedding, but Joel did not disappoint! His process was so simple, he was very accommodating, and all of our guests loved the music. He even was able to play our choreographed first dance song. He also played everything from r&b to old school music. A DJ truly makes a wedding and I would use him again and again and recommend him to everyone!

Absolutely epic

Big J is the best DJ I've ever seen, and I worked for 10 years as a wedding photographer. He was very detail oriented, thoughtful and kind before the wedding. At the wedding he was eloquent with amazing transitions and introductions. Don't even get me started on the dance floor. We had a mixed wedding and let me tell you the dance floor did not stop for 2.5 hours. Every guest said it was the best wedding dance floor they have attended. He went way above and beyond for us.

The best dj in puerto rico- look no further

From the moment we were introduced to Big J we knew he was a hit. In fact we found him on our own & said wow he’s really good and next thing you know my planner connected us and we were like YES!!!

Big J was amazing at playing in our wedding. His music, his equipment and lights were top of the line!! We loved every moment of it. He interacted with all and was so fun to be with. Great energy he brought into our wedding.

He also provided me on the spot a remix song (dance) I did for my husband. He was spot on and was very much excited to do this.

A Dream Come True

Our wedding planner Sari, through Tropical Weddings in Puerto Rico, recommended Joel to us. We couldn't have been happier!!! Amazing DJ who knows how to work a crowd

Big J was absolutely incredible and made the wedding into the fun, dance-filled experience we were hoping it would be. The most fun at my wedding!

Big J was amazing! So Fun! Me and my dad were doing a “fun” father daughter dance and Big J worked with me to get the perfect mix. He was incredible! Joel was an amazing DJ for our destination vow renewal. He helped to curate a wonderful mix of the types of music we love while incorporating tried and true party songs for a dance floor that kept going. You need this DJ at your wedding!

Joel was AMAZING! He was very responsive and professional from our very first meeting. We had a wedding where guests were about 50/50 from Puerto Rico and the United States and he could cater to both crowds seamlessly. The dancefloor was never empty. Lived up to the HYPE and then some!

WOW! Joel was so amazing. He did our ceremony and our reception. He listened to speeches and vows and incorporated songs that fit in with those things without request. There was not moment without a song playing because he so perfectly mixed the songs together. And there were so few slow songs played because my husband and and our guests, were having thee most amazing time. So many people told us that he was the best DJ they had ever seen- weddings, clubs, you name it. Joel made our day so special! Can't hype him up enough!

Kept the party going!

Big J was awesome!! The whole process was so easy! I loved that he provided an app that you could add all the songs you wanted, whenever you wanted! It made it so much easier than writing each song out and sending it to him. The reception was perfect! He kept the party going with every song. The dance floor was never empty the entire time. Big J was so sweet and we would definitely consider him a friend after the wedding! Would recommend him a thousand times over!!!

The overall planning process for our destination wedding was seamless and his communication was very prompt. He has a great attitude, is an awesome MC, and definitely knows how to read the crowd. The Best DJ!

DJ Joel is one of the best! We requested a few different genres of music, and he was able to seamlessly blend all these types of music together! He knew what songs to play to keep everyone on the dance floor. I have been to many weddings in my life, and although I may be a little biased, he was definitely the best wedding DJ we’ve ever heard! Awesome DJ

DJ Big J was absolutely phenomenal to work with. He did the music for our wedding, cocktail hour, and the reception. He kept our guests dancing up until the last minute of the wedding. Amazing DJ!!!

Couldn’t say enough good things about DJ Big J!!! We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to Covid and every time he was so quick to respond and excited for the new date. The app he sends you to help with timeline planning is SUPER convenient and easy to use, making planning a breeze. On the day of the wedding he worked seamlessly with the hotel to ensure everything went smoothly and absolutely got the vibe of our group and was able to keep people on the dance floor all night long. Highly would recommend using him if you want a talented and fun to work with DJ!

Best DJ ever, seriously!!

Our wedding planner brought DJ Joel to us with the highest recommendations and he did not disappoint! He is such a fun loving and kind guy, and was so incredibly easy to work with. Every single person at our wedding commented on what an excellent DJ we had—we actually still have people telling us how great he was-- and we absolutely agree.

Joel provided everything from fun introductions, to perfect music for the cocktail hour and the start of dinner, to keeping every person on the dance floor for a full night of dancing. All of the song selections were 100% on point, I loved every single song he played.

Book this dj! You wont regret it!

Big J was awesome!!! We hired him for my wedding, because he was also at my sisters wedding and we got so many compliments back then, that we decided to hire him again.

Big J was so nice and communicative. He answered my e-mails and calls quickly. He helped me modify two of my songs and they ended up sounding great.

Our reception included about 40 Germans and the rest Puertorricans. Big J was able to make those Germans dance like they had never danced before. They were so thankfull to have been invited to the wedding and said they had never seen a wedding with such an amazing party like ours. The LOVED the DJ and the Puertorricans too!!

There was no need to hire a band. Big J was all we needed. I had never danced in public with my German boyfriend, until the day of our wedding. We danced until I couldn't walk anymore. It was a night to remember. Thanks Big J!!

Amazing DJ hired for our destination wedding!

What can I say, Joel is just WOW!! From our very first phone call I was blown away. He is responsive, listens to you and what you would like for music, he is easy to work with and just an over all amazing guy! The app he provides for you to send over different music or select certain songs or genres makes the entire process fun and effortless.
On our big day he was incredible! He put his own spin on the songs we had selected together, he announced things perfectly and got all of our guests on their feet and dancing the entire night, even in the rain! He truly knows how to make sure the party doesn’t stop and that everyone is having the best time. Highly HIGHLY recommend!!!

WOW! Joel (DJ Big J) is on another level. He came highly recommended by numerous people and we are so grateful that he was a part of our big day. He was one of the first wedding vendors we selected because of all of the praise he received. He kept our guests dancing and laughing all night long – even through rain storms!! I booked Joel back in March almost a year ahead for my wedding in February 2020 after seeing his reviews and coming highly recommended. Just a few days ago after review all of my contracts I realized I booked him for the wrong date! Once I realized the terrible mistake I made, I quickly emailed him to check his availability for the following weekend and he was already booked! In this industry I have quickly learned there is no room for error and refunds are non existent, with that being said he was super understanding and was kind enough to refund me all of my deposit. I am so grateful for his kindness and understanding the situation. This type of character is hard to find so I would highly recommend dealing with him!

Amazing service

My entire wedding was spectacular, but Big J absolutely stood out to all of our guests. Big J had the entire wedding party on the dance floor the entire night. We didn't even provide him much so a play list, he was able to feel out the crowed and get the right songs at the right time. Big J is also very friendly and accommodating unlike a lot of DJ's. The few requests for announcements or songs we made he was great about. I would go out of my way to recommend Big J to anyone having a wedding in Puerto Rico, he was fantastic and very affordable.

Best DJ in Puerto Rico!

Our wedding planner Rosalina Torres recommended Big J to do the music for our wedding and are we super happy she did! Joel did an amazing job! He played exactly what we wanted and even played music that he thought would get my guests dancing! The whole night my guests were on their feet dancing the night away!! We had a power outage at one point and the music was still playing! I don't know how he did that but it was super awesome! My husband and I couldn't have had anyone better, Joel is the best! Danced Our a$$e$ off!!

Big J came highly recommend to us by several of our vendors!!! I had contacted Joel about a year prior to our wedding and I loved his personality over email!! He was professional and kind and answered all of my questions!! I knew I couldn't go wrong hiring him!! My husband and I are huge music lovers and we LOVE to dance and have a good time! Well that's exactly what we did!! Our wedding was amazing!!! Joel played all of the music that we had selected and then some!! The way he mixes one song into the next, was awesome!!! What a Night!

Joel is simply amazing! We celebrated our marriage with a destination wedding in Puerto Rico. The majority of our planning was performed by email. We were in constant contact with Joel and he was very responsive to our emails and requests. We had him prepare a remix for our first dance and continued to make edits until we heard the version that we loved. The music on the night of the wedding was exactly what we had asked for and more that catered to us and our family and friends. The dance floor was full of energy. Great MC, warm, entertaining, and professional. Absolutely made our night.

Amazing DJ

DJ Joel, hosted my wedding at the Condado Vanderbilt and provided top-notch service. He engaged the bridal party in conversation leading up to our entrance, and verified that he knew exactly how the bridal party should be announced. While he did use our play list, he implemented his excellent creative license and added in songs that appealed to both the older and the younger generations. Big J is outstanding! We hired his services for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at La Concha resort. He kept our guests dancing ALL NIGHT. I just had a small wedding on August 4th 2018. I was the most nervous about the music because of the diverse group that was invited. Joel nailed it!!! Not only was he so reassuring about his music from beginning to end. He executed everything so smooth that I almost forgot it was my wedding. I was so entertained and so were my guest that they did not even want to end the reception. They would have kept going if they could. I was so impressed on how he was able to provide music at my ceremony on the beach!! He even made last minute change right before the reception! I wish I could have Joel be my DJ for every wedding I do from here on out!

With almost 10 years of experience as a planner, I have seen everything! DJ's who think their promotional material is more important than the couple they were hired by and Dj's who really just do not understand their audience. Joel was AMAZING! I was amidst planning a destination wedding post Hurricane Maria and I felt like Joel was my co-planner! He was so responsive! Even post hurricane when the devastation was more than I can imagine.

Joel REALLY mixes while he works and does not just keep a computer on a playlist. He takes requests, he is amendable and understands a wedding is a living breathing thing that needs to ebb and flow. He played oldies mixed with traditional Puerto Rican tunes and today's hottest hits while seamlessly hosting them all. I cannot decide if my favorite part of DJ Big J was his professionalism, his talent, or his general likeability as a human being but I cannot recommend him enough. Not to mention his equipment is modern, reliable and very simple to work with.

Oh, and as a planner who speaks little to well... very poor Spanish... Joel was respected by ALL of his industry piers and was a main point of communication on the day of! It's a shame this man did not stay in Boston because I would be spending every working wedding weekend with him!

If you hire Joel or his team, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful wedding night!

Amazing fun filled night!! Our guests danced the whole night away to a great variety of music!! I would give Joel 10 stars if I could! All I can say is, WOW! He did our wedding on March 24th, 2018, and cannot explain how fantastic he was as a DJ. Seriously, look no farther than his page right here. The ENTIRE night the dance floor was packed! I've been to a LOT of weddings and never before have I seen so many people dancing and having fun for such a long stretch of time. People were drenched in sweat from dancing so hard (my husband included). I had at least 10 people come up to me to tell me what an awesome job he was doing, and I couldn't help but pay him a few compliments myself! We had a wide range of ages present at our wedding but he knew how to get the older generation on the dance floor while still playing fun popular songs that are great to dance to for all the rest of us. The only instructions I had were him were NO stupid dance songs like the Macarena, and play "New York, New York" and "Shout". And man did he deliver. Not to mention, his prices are more than fair, he is extremely responsive, and you can tell he loves what he does. I would get married again just to go to one of his parties.

WHAT A DJ!!! WHAT A PERSONALITY!!! We knew we wanted to have Big J ever since we got engaged. Throughout the year, any question I had (which let's be real, every bride has a million questions), he would answer and promptly. He was so sweet and HONEST! We sent him a list of songs we especially wanted and the rest we left it up to him. WHAT A PARTYYYYY!!!!!! At the end, we had guests that just didn't want to leave and we all ended up on the stage having a concert! We wish we could relive this day, and we recommend Big J with eyes closed! Joel freaking rocked! I’m so glad our wedding planner - Wanda Garcia - talked us out of a live band and into using Joel. He was able to play every single obscure song that we picked for our ceremony, and accommodated some last minute changes to get the crowd more pumped up. When it came time to the actual reception, our entire 40 person wedding was literally dancing from the moment dessert ended until Casa de Espana kicked us out. We had so many compliments from our guests on the music selection, and more than a few jealous comments! I cannot recommend him enough! Thank you, Joel!

Joel was a pleasure to work with! He definitely had our guests dancing the whole night. He also realized that we were honoring my grandfather, who had just passed about 2 weeks before our wedding. We had an "it's 5 o'clock somewhere clock" in my grandfathers seat, along with a picture of him. Joel asked if it was ok for him to play 5 o'clock somewhere during our dancing, I told him absolutely! The family was thrilled that he, not knowing my grandfather, honored him as well. Great job Big J! We hope you enjoyed our wedding! Thank you for everything!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Joel. I was a little worried about my group of people and whether or not they were going to really dance it up, because let's face it, the bride is a dancer. Somehow Joel got our crew out on the floor AND KEPT THEM THERE! Oh wow, I really don't know how it did it, but the grooms parents were dancing with my friends and my friends were dancing with each other and somewhere, somehow there was a boyband dance off.

Either way, I'm telling you, you CANNOT go wrong working with Joel. He was on time, he was professional and you could tell that he genuinely enjoyed what he did. Not to mention he was good! There were no awkward pauses, he didn't over talk (totally kills the vibe), but he engaged the crowd. He was worth every single penny we paid and more. Joel, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making our reception better than I could have ever dreamed.

DJ Big J!! He was our BEST and easiest decision for our destination wedding on 4/21/17. After meeting a couple on the beach who had their wedding the night before and hearing how amazing Big J was to them, there really was no other DJ to consider booking. We were SO happy we went with that couples recommendation. Joel was extremely easy to work with- quick to respond, went with our music vision and very reasonably priced. We had a welcome party the night before our wedding and we had Big J DJ that event too- fantastic idea! He was able to meet us and all of our guests the day before the wedding and feel out our vibes which just lead to an even more amazing wedding night! My wife and I appreciate Big J so much! He took the vibe we were going for, and exceeded the destination wedding expectations! Our guest had a ball! Big J delivered the BEST PARTY EVERY! My husband and I are really into music, so it was top priority that we find a good DJ to play our favorite tunes the whole night. From day 1 he was extremely responsive and accommodating. He provided us with a form to fill out detailing the schedule we had in mind for the reception, and what songs would be played when. This was such a nice touch because it left no room for error the whole night, meaning it was perfect! He not only played those few select songs we wanted for the cutting of the cake, first dance, bouquet toss, etc., but he actually spun those records! I hate it when DJs play a whole song through during a party. I mean people pay money for DJs to just hit play all night. Well Joel DID NOT do this! He was spinning with skill! He mashed up some of our favorite artists from Beyoncé, to Kendrick Lamar, to Disclosure, to my hometown Houston music. He strategically started the night off with 70s and 80s for the older crowd to get their groove on before they went to bed. Then, he followed that up with the 90s, 00s, and 10s for the younger crowd to "get lit!" Many of the wedding guests are STILL talking (6 months later) about how this was the most fun they have had in a long time/at a wedding/EVER! I owe this to Big J. Toast to the best DJ in Puerto Rico!

Joel was our wedding DJ in San Juan, Puerto Rico in February 2017. He was the MOST AMAZING wedding DJ that we have ever seen and were lucky enough to use him for our wedding. He was engaged with the crowd, he read the audience, and was the life of the party. We loved that he was able to incorporate some song mixes as the night went on so that the crowd kept dancing the night away. Also, he did a great job of reading the crowd. We requested some older 60's/70's that he played in the beginning of the night and then slowly brought in music from the younger crowd later.

The part that we loved was that he made the event so personal to us. He called out our names, made some fun jokes, and even though we just met him that night, we felt like we had known him for years!

No words can express how happy my husband and I were after our wedding. Heck, we even invited him to the after party to celebrate. Make sure if you have Joel at your wedding if you want an amazing party! MUCHAS GRACIAS!

I was planning my wedding from Maryland and spoke to numerous DJs which became so stressful. As soon as I reached out to Joel (AKA DJ Big J) I got a really great vibe and knew he was the perfect DJ for our wedding. I'm so incredibly happy we contracted him! He was amazing. Spot on with all the music and so much fun to work with. He read the crowd and at one point started playing 90's music which everybody loved and sang along to. I even picked out a different song for the end of the night (which he played) and then he topped it off to an even better song that left an everlasting memory for my husband and myself. Everybody who was at the wedding still comments on how epic the dancing was because of the great music. Thank you Joel!

Where to even begin?! Being from NYC and planning a wedding in Puerto Rico can be stressful but after meeting Joel we were so delighted to know we were in good hands. He kept the dance floor going all night and played off the guests’ vibes as he selected music. I had a huge list of songs I wanted him to play but time get away from me and I never sent him our list. I only sent him the specific ceremony and reception songs. I was nervous bc I had put so much time into the music I wanted I was worried we wouldn’t get a mix of artists we like. BOY WAS I WRONG! He blew me away with his professionalism, huge selection of music and willingness to accommodate guest request. I HIGHLY recommend Joel for any event. I’m so pleased with how the evening went and a large part of that is because he’s amazing at what he does!

We contracted Joel early in 2016 for our destination wedding in September 2016. We visited in March 2016 to have an opportunity to meet with our vendors and relay our expectations. Joel was very easy going and re-assured us that he would do his absolute best to make sure that everyone enjoyed our wedding. The website he provided was very easy to use and navigate. We were able to indicate which songs we wanted played and which we absolutely did not. He provided playlist suggestions to make this easier. Joel was able to accommodate sound equipment during our three separate wedding events: beach ceremony, indoor cocktail hour, and indoor wedding reception. During the wedding, Joel made sure to play the special songs (ceremony processional, recessional, first dance, etc) at the appropriate time and exactly how we asked. During the reception, Joel took more liberty to play songs that kept people dancing the entire night. At one time, we even had a Soul Train line and practically all of our guests, including my 92 year old grandmother, danced down the line. In my opinion, the DJ can make or break an event because it affects the entire atmosphere. Joel did a wonderful job and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect.

Puerto Rico is alive and well!! I just returned from Puerto Rico where my daughter had her destination wedding. We first met with Joel a year prior and immediately fell in love with him! His knowledge of music and how to read a crowd is unbelievable. He is a true professional. Joel played all of the songs my daughter requested and even played some of the old Italian must-haves. DJ Big J played non-stop music from the moment cocktail hour started until the last song of the evening. There were no down-times whatsoever. His transition from one song to another is impeccable. Joel had everyone on the dance floor all night. Even my husband who doesn't dance! We had such a great time with him. If you are planning a wedding or any event in PR that requires a DJ, DJ Big J (Big J Music Services) is your man. You will not be disappointed. So happy our paths crossed and hope to see him again some day when I revisit the beautiful island of Puerto Rico.

When I read Big J's reviews on wedding wire I thought to myself "This guy can't be that good. These reviews can't be real." Man was I wrong. Joel is the REAL DEAL people!!! He has a library of songs to choose from which contained hits for all generations and ages. He was able to play any song that we requested. He's not just some regular dj that just "plays songs" either. He had smooth transitions and even blended songs that were of different tempos cleanly. Crazy props to this guy! Mad skills!!! Awesome DJ! He kept everyone dancing all night and all our guests were raving about how great he was the next day. Joel was always responsive to all our emails. Based on a small selections of songs my husband and I made through his client portal, he really tailored the music to our taste and he can really read the crowd. I highly recommend him. Big Joey is the REAL deal. This guy had so much life, excitement and energy the entire day and that is what you need in a DJ. Leading up to the big day, my wife and I had a particular sound we wanted. Old school R&B+ Hip Hop to keep you on your feet all night.

We gave Joey a well thought out list of songs but told him to take it and run with it....and that is exactly what he did. He kept people entertained with his cuts and mixes and he definitely fed off the crowd for what worked. The peak for me was when we told Joey that we wanted to do a tribute to southern hip hop since we, and most of our guests, are from the South. We had songs in mind..... BUT HIS DELIVERY WAS GRADE-A! When your guests say "This felt like we were back in college," you know it was done right. People raved at how much fun they had and a lot can be attributed to Joey for a job well done.

If you want a DJ that can easily adapt, versatile to various audiences, good energy and keeps the crowd going, he is your guy.

There are no words to describe how wonderful Joel is! We were a bit nervous having our Hindu Indian wedding in PR, especially in finding a DJ that would understand our needs, and stay within budget. But Joel put us at ease. He not only was accommodating of last minute changes (especially with the lighting), but was responsive, and got the crowd jumping on the dance floor. More than once were we asked where we found such a great DJ. For anyone having an event in PR, Joel should be your first pick!

If you want the best DJ ever, you need to hire Joel! No joke. We knew we wanted a good DJ but we didn't realize we hired THE BEST! I mean THAT!!! We did a lot of research, spoke to a lot of the locals and professionals and everyone said to hire him. He was the first vendor we hired and WOW we were amazed at his work!!! Joel came over to me at some point and said, "I am about to get this party started. Are you good with that?" Immediately after he had guests out there dancing that NEVER dance! People were getting more excited at every song he played! It kept getting better and better and better. He knows how to read your crowd. People were tearing up the floor! It was humid and it didn't stop people from dancing, sweating and all...he made the reception! I had guests coming over to me saying how amazing he was and wanted his information so they could fly him up to Philly when they needed a DJ. Our friends and family are still talking about him and I have a feeling he will be talked about for a very long time! Thank you for making our wedding reception the best ever!

Where to start with Joel??? We don’t normally love to dance and had a small group so we were worried we would have a sad, empty dance floor. We didn’t even want a DJ. Our wedding planner assured us that with Big J everyone would dance all night and have a blast. We didn’t believe her. She couldn’t have been more right. He was without a doubt one of the finest vendors we utilized for the wedding. He was so good that I am hesitant to even leave a five-star review as I want to keep him all to ourselves! At so many weddings the “DJ” does nothing more than queue up songs and work his way through a generic playlist. Joel is a true craftsman artfully mixing and weaving a musical narrative for the wedding celebration. His transitions and timing were remarkable and his attentiveness second to none. I’m not even sure if he left his booth for a few minutes at a time. At one point I wanted to go over and make sure he had a break and could eat something!

My fiancé (unbeknownst to me) asked Joel to strive for a subtle James Bond theme. Rather than play the original recordings he actually located some updated recordings by the Las Vegas Philharmonic which were phenomenal. Everyone raved about it! Later during dinner, he provided some light music taking some artistic liberties from our playlist. Finally, during the dancing/celebration hours he really started to shine. The fact that he was able to keep our relatively small group of various ages moving to 2 AM was testament to his abilities. We had left over alcohol because no one wanted to leave the dance floor to get a drink and we had a 60-something electrical engineer dancing with a tie around his head. Enough said. Guest after guest commented the next day how amazing he was and how much fun they had dancing. Two of our guests want to book him for their venue in New Orleans. Joel do you travel? You’d better start because we’re going to be spreading your name on the mainland! Thanks for making our wedding a blast!

This guy is AWESOME! He kept us dancing all night long at our wedding. Our guests had an incredible time! Big J was extremely responsive by email, a big plus as we planned our entire wedding from afar without ever having visited PR. He would reply to our emails within minutes! He played all our favorite songs, and even helped customize our cocktail hour and dinner playlist. He really knows how to keep the crowd dancing, playing just the right song at just the right time. He was also interactive with our guests, adding in funny commentary when our crazy guests were going bananas on the dance floor. Some of our guests even asked Big J if he would travel to the states to DJ weddings there! All in all, everyone had a BLAST and there's no doubt Big J had a lot to do with that! Go with BIG J!!!
