I booked Joel back in March almost a year ahead for my wedding in February 2020 after seeing his reviews and coming highly recommended. Just a few days ago after review all of my contracts I realized I booked him for the wrong date! Once I realized the terrible mistake I made, I quickly emailed him to check his availability for the following weekend and he was already booked! In this industry I have quickly learned there is no room for error and refunds are non existent, with that being said he was super understanding and was kind enough to refund me all of my deposit. I am so grateful for his kindness and understanding the situation. This type of character is hard to find so I would highly recommend dealing with him!

The Best DJ!

DJ Joel is one of the best! We requested a few different genres of music, and he was able to seamlessly blend all these types of music together! He knew what songs to play to keep everyone on the dance floor. I have been to many weddings in my life, and although I may be a little biased, he was definitely the best wedding DJ we’ve ever heard! He’s very personable and a great emcee!

We absolutely loved DJ Joel. He was very responsive and helpful pre-wedding. During the ceremony he absolutely killed it. Our guests never danced so hard. His positive energy and professionalism rivaled any DJ around. We highly recommend working with him.

Big J delivered the BEST PARTY EVERY! My husband and I are really into music, so it was top priority that we find a good DJ to play our favorite tunes the whole night. From day 1 he was extremely responsive and accommodating. He provided us with a form to fill out detailing the schedule we had in mind for the reception, and what songs would be played when. This was such a nice touch because it left no room for error the whole night, meaning it was perfect! He not only played those few select songs we wanted for the cutting of the cake, first dance, bouquet toss, etc., but he actually spun those records! I hate it when DJs play a whole song through during a party. I mean people pay money for DJs to just hit play all night. Well Joel DID NOT do this! He was spinning with skill! He mashed up some of our favorite artists from Beyoncé, to Kendrick Lamar, to Disclosure, to my hometown Houston music. He strategically started the night off with 70s and 80s for the older crowd to get their groove on before they went to bed. Then, he followed that up with the 90s, 00s, and 10s for the younger crowd to "get lit!" Many of the wedding guests are STILL talking (6 months later) about how this was the most fun they have had in a long time/at a wedding/EVER! I owe this to Big J. Toast to the best DJ in Puerto Rico!

DJ Joey was super responsive to all of our emails. He was one of our best vendors for our wedding. Best of all he played great songs at the wedding and the guests were dancing the entire time. This was one of the most important parts of our wedding and he really made it happen.

This guy is AWESOME! He kept us dancing all night long at our wedding. Our guests had an incredible time! Big J was extremely responsive by email, a big plus as we planned our entire wedding from afar without ever having visited PR. He would reply to our emails within minutes! He played all our favorite songs, and even helped customize our cocktail hour and dinner playlist. He really knows how to keep the crowd dancing, playing just the right song at just the right time. He was also interactive with our guests, adding in funny commentary when our crazy guests were going bananas on the dance floor. Some of our guests even asked Big J if he would travel to the states to DJ weddings there! All in all, everyone had a BLAST and there's no doubt Big J had a lot to do with that! Go with BIG J!!! You will not be sorry!

Joel is simply the best DJ!! Everybody had a blast at the wedding thanks to him. He really knows how to get the party started!! We loved every song he played, and he was also a great MC, very funny and charismatic. Would highly recommend!!

Joel is the best at what he does. He was quick to respond to emails, on time, quick on his toes when we had to change locations because of the rain, and he granted every request and even made special mixes for our dances. He is so good at reading the crowd and has such a fun personality. Joel helped make our wedding be the best day of our lives!

I wish I could have Joel be my DJ for every wedding I do from here on out!

With almost 10 years of experience as a planner, I have seen everything! DJ's who think their promotional material is more important than the couple they were hired by and Dj's who really just do not understand their audience. Joel was AMAZING! I was amidst planning a destination wedding post Hurricane Maria and I felt like Joel was my co-planner! He was so responsive! Even post hurricane when the devastation was more than I can imagine.

Joel REALLY mixes while he works and does not just keep a computer on a playlist. He takes requests, he is amendable and understands a wedding is a living breathing thing that needs to ebb and flow. He played oldies mixed with traditional Puerto Rican tunes and today's hottest hits while seamlessly hosting them all. I cannot decide if my favorite part of DJ Big J was his professionalism, his talent, or his general likeability as a human being but I cannot recommend him enough. Not to mention his equipment is modern, reliable and very simple to work with.

Oh, and as a planner who speaks little to well... very poor Spanish... Joel was respected by ALL of his industry piers and was a main point of communication on the day of! It's a shame this man did not stay in Boston because I would be spending every working wedding weekend with him!

If you hire Joel or his team, you are guaranteed to have a wonderful wedding night!

Joel was awesome, He just did my wedding about 2 weeks ago. He played all the music that we had requested and was able to feel the crowd to keep everyone dancing from start to finished. We contracted Joel early in 2016 for our destination wedding in September 2016. We visited in March 2016 to have an opportunity to meet with our vendors and relay our expectations. Joel was very easy going and re-assured us that he would do his absolute best to make sure that everyone enjoyed our wedding. The website he provided was very easy to use and navigate. We were able to indicate which songs we wanted played and which we absolutely did not. He provided playlist suggestions to make this easier. Joel was able to accommodate sound equipment during our three separate wedding events: beach ceremony, indoor cocktail hour, and indoor wedding reception. During the wedding, Joel made sure to play the special songs (ceremony processional, recessional, first dance, etc) at the appropriate time and exactly how we asked. During the reception, Joel took more liberty to play songs that kept people dancing the entire night. At one time, we even had a Soul Train line and practically all of our guests, including my 92 year old grandmother, danced down the line. In my opinion, the DJ can make or break an event because it affects the entire atmosphere. Joel did a wonderful job and went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect.

A Dream Come True

Our wedding planner Sari, through Tropical Weddings in Puerto Rico, recommended Joel to us. We couldn't have been happier!!! Every special moment was aligned perfectly with our song selections providing such a beautiful ceremony/reception. He really knows how to read a crowd and keep the party going. Phenomenal music selections by him and loved the app where I could collab and add songs ahead of time with such ease. LOVED the fun energy and we partied all night long! Amazing DJ hired for our destination wedding!

What can I say, Joel is just WOW!! From our very first phone call I was blown away. He is responsive, listens to you and what you would like for music, he is easy to work with and just an over all amazing guy! The app he provides for you to send over different music or select certain songs or genres makes the entire process fun and effortless.
On our big day he was incredible! He put his own spin on the songs we had selected together, he announced things perfectly and got all of our guests on their feet and dancing the entire night, even in the rain! He truly knows how to make sure the party doesn’t stop and that everyone is having the best time. Highly HIGHLY recommend!!!

Responsive, creative, and energetic!

Joel was an amazing DJ for our destination vow renewal. He helped to curate a wonderful mix of the types of music we love while incorporating tried and true party songs for a dance floor that kept going. We had a small guest list, and really expected the party to fade out early, but Joel kept us all engaged and on the dance floor til the very end. I am so thankful for his flexibility as well, we had a date change at the last minute due to COVID and he was completely willing to work with us and schedule a new date. Hire Joel! If you are looking for a DJ - you can stop looking now. I cannot say enough nice things about Joel. He was very responsive, professional, talented and so kind! I found him through my wedding planner (we did a destination wedding) and thank GOODNESS we did!!! He was a big reason our wedding was such a huge success. From the minute the first song started, our ENTIRE wedding of 75 guests (yes, ALL 75 people) were dancing. This lasted for about an hour and a half - and would have lasted longer if people didn't get tired from dancing so much! :) We had a lot of people comment about how much people were dancing. Every song he played was spot on and another future bride at my wedding asked if I could send her a list of songs he played so she could play them at her wedding. He played all the songs on my request list and put them in the perfect order. My guests were about 50% 50+ and 50% 22-28 and neither age group was dancing more than the other! Joel was so much fun! My guests are still talking about him. Seriously- you want him as your DJ. THANK YOU JOEL!!!!!!!!! :)

Best DJ and emcee ever. Joel kept the party going all night and had everybody dancing -- from our 8 year old flower girl to my husband's 91 year old grandfather (he was doing the butterfly - no joke!). One of my favorite things about Joel is that he is basically part of your party. Joel interacted with our guests, and made sure we all had a great time. He was good at reading our guests, anticipating what they'd want, and making sure they got it. We didn't have to worry about making sure our guests had a good time because Joel took care of that for us. Our guests were raving about Joel all weekend long -- including guests who dj themselves - and telling us our wedding was one of the best they'd ever been to.

Joel was terrific to work with up to the wedding, as well. He is laid back but reassuring, a good combination for the hectic nature that comes with wedding planning. We had talked about what sort of genres we wanted to play before, but, being the last minute bride I am, I waited until just a few days before the wedding to give him a (long) list of songs we wanted to play. Joel played all our songs and more.

We whole-heartedly recommend Joel for any bride/groom looking for a DJ/emcee in PR. One of the best decisions we made, and it was an easy decision. Thanks for a great party, Joel!!

Couldn’t say enough good things about DJ Big J!!! We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to Covid and every time he was so quick to respond and excited for the new date. The app he sends you to help with timeline planning is SUPER convenient and easy to use, making planning a breeze. On the day of the wedding he worked seamlessly with the hotel to ensure everything went smoothly and absolutely got the vibe of our group and was able to keep people on the dance floor all night long. Highly would recommend using him if you want a talented and fun to work with DJ!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Joel. I was a little worried about my group of people and whether or not they were going to really dance it up, because let's face it, the bride is a dancer. Somehow Joel got our crew out on the floor AND KEPT THEM THERE! Oh wow, I really don't know how it did it, but the grooms parents were dancing with my friends and my friends were dancing with each other and somewhere, somehow there was a boyband dance off.

Either way, I'm telling you, you CANNOT go wrong working with Joel. He was on time, he was professional and you could tell that he genuinely enjoyed what he did. Not to mention he was good! There were no awkward pauses, he didn't over talk (totally kills the vibe), but he engaged the crowd. He was worth every single penny we paid and more. Joel, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making our reception better than I could have ever dreamed.

DJ Big J!! He was our BEST and easiest decision for our destination wedding on 4/21/17. After meeting a couple on the beach who had their wedding the night before and hearing how amazing Big J was to them, there really was no other DJ to consider booking. We were SO happy we went with that couples recommendation. Joel was extremely easy to work with- quick to respond, went with our music vision and very reasonably priced. We had a welcome party the night before our wedding and we had Big J DJ that event too- fantastic idea! Amazing DJ who knows how to work a crowd

Big J was absolutely incredible and made the wedding into the fun, dance-filled experience we were hoping it would be. He knew how to work the crowd and what to play--from the beginning of the dancing until the end he kept people engaged and dancing, with a variety of great songs (both those that we selected and that were just right at the time). Book this dj! You wont regret it!

Big J was awesome!!! We hired him for my wedding, because he was also at my sisters wedding and we got so many compliments back then, that we decided to hire him again.

Big J was so nice and communicative. He answered my e-mails and calls quickly. He helped me modify two of my songs and they ended up sounding great.

Our reception included about 40 Germans and the rest Puertorricans. Big J was able to make those Germans dance like they had never danced before. They were so thankfull to have been invited to the wedding and said they had never seen a wedding with such an amazing party like ours. The LOVED the DJ and the Puertorricans too!!

There was no need to hire a band. Big J was all we needed. I had never danced in public with my German boyfriend, until the day of our wedding. We danced until I couldn't walk anymore. It was a night to remember. Thanks Big J!!

Hiring Big J for my event was the best decision ever. I gave him a list of the songs and styles of music that I like, he played them in a way that always kept my guests inside the dance floor having the best time ever. I also asked him to cheer up the crow, that made it even more entertaining for my guests. If you want to dance the night away with your guests, you need to call Joel (Big J). Amazing DJ

DJ Joel, hosted my wedding at the Condado Vanderbilt and provided top-notch service. He engaged the bridal party in conversation leading up to our entrance, and verified that he knew exactly how the bridal party should be announced. While he did use our play list, he implemented his excellent creative license and added in songs that appealed to both the older and the younger generations. He had a great feel for the crowd and kept everyone happy and eager to stay on the dance floor. As the bride, I happily danced the night away with my husband and our loved ones. DJ Joel is the gold standard.

DJ Big J was great!

The overall planning process for our destination wedding was seamless and his communication was very prompt. He has a great attitude, is an awesome MC, and definitely knows how to read the crowd. Our wedding included everything from classic rock, to salsa to banda to EDM, and everything transitioned very nicely. Everyone had the best time!!!

Joel was awesome and easy to work with!

We are so happy Joel DJed our wedding. We got married at the Hacienda Siesta Alegre which is a venue he has worked many times. He was very easy to work with and accommodating. He was okay with us bringing in a saxophone player that he had never met and playing alongside her. He also had this cool app where we could upload songs we liked or didn’t like with notes. He did an amazing job mixing the music and keeping the party going. He was reasonably priced and offer fun add ons such as the sparklers we added to go off during our first and last dances. We would hired Joel again in a heartbeat.

The Party Never Stopped!

What can I say except Big J was AWESOME! He kept the party going and everyone had a blast at our wedding. We got so many compliments about the music. My husband's family is haitian and he knew just the right songs to play to keep everyone dancing. I can't recommend him enough!

Amazing fun filled night!! Our guests danced the whole night away to a great variety of music!! Joel was super easy to work with,all I did was just give him a small list of songs and genre’s we liked and he took it from there!!!! Ceremony, Cocktail and reception music was all provided by him, he served as our MC and his timming was perfect. He knew when to get the party started and how to keep it going! We had non stop fun dancing thanks to him!! Thank you!!

Could not have asked for a better DJ

Joel is AMAZING! Every time we had a question or needed a suggestion he was there. He is so incredibly easy to work with and the app he has to communicate the music selection made it 1000xs easier than writing it all out.

He keeps the party going with his amazing mix and great vibe! Joel is seriously the best!

You need this DJ at your wedding!

Joel was AMAZING! He was very responsive and professional from our very first meeting. We had a wedding where guests were about 50/50 from Puerto Rico and the United States and he could cater to both crowds seamlessly. The dancefloor was never empty. We loved every song he played and all of our guests loved him as well. I would recommend him with no hesitation. If you are having a wedding in Puerto Rico, you need Big J Music Services!

Don’t Look Anywhere Else

It’s true what they say — a DJ makes or breaks your wedding. Needless to say, Joel killed it in every aspect!! 🙂🙂 His transitions are so smooth and he kept everyone dancing all night. He had to balance Brazilian, Bolivian, local Puertican, and American music and he was flawless. A true professional! Not only is he so skillful at what he does, he bring such a fun, warm personality. Awesome DJ

We had so much fun at our wedding thanks to our DJ!! It was a smaller wedding, but people were dancing all night. He helped us with our ceremony & reception and was flexible and worked with us when we needed extra time! We highly recommend him!

Best DJ ever, seriously!!

Our wedding planner brought DJ Joel to us with the highest recommendations and he did not disappoint! He is such a fun loving and kind guy, and was so incredibly easy to work with. Every single person at our wedding commented on what an excellent DJ we had—we actually still have people telling us how great he was-- and we absolutely agree.

Joel provided everything from fun introductions, to perfect music for the cocktail hour and the start of dinner, to keeping every person on the dance floor for a full night of dancing. All of the song selections were 100% on point, I loved every single song he played.

Honestly if you want a charismatic MC, and your guests to dance all night long, book Joel, you will have no other worries and your guests will be dancing ALL NIGHT LONG!

WHAT A DJ!!! WHAT A PERSONALITY!!! We knew we wanted to have Big J ever since we got engaged. Throughout the year, any question I had (which let's be real, every bride has a million questions), he would answer and promptly. He was so sweet and HONEST! We sent him a list of songs we especially wanted and the rest we left it up to him. WHAT A PARTYYYYY!!!!!! At the end, we had guests that just didn't want to leave and we all ended up on the stage having a concert! We wish we could relive this day, and we recommend Big J with eyes closed! The Best DJ

BIG J IS THE BEST! My wedding was super small but big j kept it so much fun with all of the music and keeping the energy going. He was so friendly and just amazing to work with. I love that it was so easy to plan the music for the ceremony and reception. If I didn’t have a music preference it was great that he was willing to play some good music that would just keep everyone dancing and having a good time. Joel aka DJ Big J is a true professional from the very start. We had a Persian/Puerto Rican wedding at the Antiguo Casino in San Juan on Valentine's Day. Joel had the whole wedding dancing from 8pm till 2am (pretty much when the security made us leave). He was able to mix the Persian music we provided him with Spanish music and kept everyone happy. He has top notch equipment and a very professional demeanor. He is bilingual as well so helps if your doing a destination wedding and your spanish isn't strong. Joel even set up a slide show for us with a projector at the last minute. I even forgot to get my flash drive with my music on it from him and he sent it to me the next day! Definitely we highly recommend him if you want to have a wedding that you and your guests will be talking about for many years after!

Joel was our wedding DJ in San Juan, Puerto Rico in February 2017. He was the MOST AMAZING wedding DJ that we have ever seen and were lucky enough to use him for our wedding. He was engaged with the crowd, he read the audience, and was the life of the party. We loved that he was able to incorporate some song mixes as the night went on so that the crowd kept dancing the night away. Also, he did a great job of reading the crowd. We requested some older 60's/70's that he played in the beginning of the night and then slowly brought in music from the younger crowd later.

The part that we loved was that he made the event so personal to us. He called out our names, made some fun jokes, and even though we just met him that night, we felt like we had known him for years!

No words can express how happy my husband and I were after our wedding. Heck, we even invited him to the after party to celebrate. Make sure if you have Joel at your wedding if you want an amazing party! MUCHAS GRACIAS!

Kept the part going

I hired Joel for our Oct 2025 wedding. I did the ceremony + cocktail, platinum reception package, and added uplighting. He came highly recommended from my planner and photographer who has personally used him at her wedding. He was very responsive and easy to work with. He was fine to add the uplighting last minute as well with no issues. He was able to download the weird format of my first dance song and time it all perfectly. The reception was insanely fun. He kept the vibes going all night. It felt like a night club. Several people remarked that they wished it lasted longer because of how good the DJ and ambiance was. I cannot recommend Joel enough!

What can I say, Joel was GREAT! We just gave him some songs we liked and told him what we didn't like and the whole reception, people were on the dance floor. Only a couple songs people sat out and not because they didn't like the music, but because everyone was so tired from jumping up and down dancing. Joel was also a great MC. We had some long last names and he didn't mess up on any of them! Use Joel, you won't regret it!

Joel was a pleasure to work with! He definitely had our guests dancing the whole night. He also realized that we were honoring my grandfather, who had just passed about 2 weeks before our wedding. We had an "it's 5 o'clock somewhere clock" in my grandfathers seat, along with a picture of him. Joel asked if it was ok for him to play 5 o'clock somewhere during our dancing, I told him absolutely! We are so glad that Joel was our wedding DJ! He did an amazing job which made our wedding reception a blast with such a fun dance party! We planned our wedding from Chicago, and found Joel online. He was professional and prompt with email communication. The day of the wedding he was on time, flexible and exceeded our expectations. We had an outdoor ceremony and a guitar player during the ceremony, which he also provided the speaker and microphone equipment for. He made sure everything sounded great and really took care of the logistics so we were stress-free! Everything turned out great! He played exactly the type of music we requested and did a wonderful job! We HIGHLY recommend him!

Joel turned my wedding into the biggest party of my life. He was professional, responsive and extremely flexible. My husband and I gave Joel a bunch of Greek music we wanted him to blend in with Latin music, and he did a fantastic job seamlessly transitioning between the two. The wedding was high energy from start to finish. Hopefully I will never get married again, but if I do, I would definitely go with Joel. Awesome DJ!!! Joel really brought it. He provided music for my ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. The music never stopped. He played all of my song requests (it was a very extensive list). He even took special requests from my guests. At one point, he plugged my sister's iPod in so that we could play a special song that I forgot to request in advance. I am so glad that I found you, Joel! Music is such a key component to any event, which is why we did our research when looking for the perfect DJ that would please a very diverse crowd. Our guests traveled from everywhere - New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Florida-- and the island of Puerto Rico. My husband and I, as well as our guests have been exposed to amazing DJ's, as we've lived and partied in New York, DC and beyond...we even had some DJs and musicians attend our wedding, and EVERYONE-- young and old, those that spoke English and those that only spoke Spanish, I mean EVERYONE talked about how amazing Big J was and how he ROCKED our party. We danced all night! My bridesmaids and I were jumping with four-inch heels on! My mother sweated out her beautiful hairdo and my husband, the groomsmen and all of our friends danced and danced. We completely wore ourselves out, but couldn't stop dancing because Big J kept our party going. We had a few guests say they didn't want our party to end! Folks are still asking us where did we find him; others were sore from all the dancing and some people couldn't remember the last time they danced so much. It was a night to remember.

In addition to the fun party, Joel did an outstanding job of serving as Master of Ceremonies. He was charming, warm and beautifully commanded the attention of our guests -- we had a fun bunch! For our first dance, my husband and I wanted to dance to two songs and Joel was gracious enough to produce a demo for us and it was perfect. During our reception, we wanted to surprise a few of our guests with meaningful songs and such, and he executed these few "shout outs" beautifully. Everyone was touched.

You will not be disappointed with Joel, trust me, I've done the leg work (figuratively and literally). He exceeded our expectations and helped us create a such a memorable night. This is one for the books!

The best dj in pr!

Joel was amazing. We were initially worried that with doing a destination wedding and being from NY, there was not going to be the music that we wanted at our wedding, but Joel did not disappoint! His process was so simple, he was very accommodating, and all of our guests loved the music. He even was able to play our choreographed first dance song. He also played everything from r&b to old school music. A DJ truly makes a wedding and I would use him again and again and recommend him to everyone!

DJ Archie that works with Big Joel was amazing! There weren't any reviews about him, only Joel, so we were going on the good word from the wedding planner. She couldn't have been more right. The mix of music was perfect. I am not much of a dancer, but was dancing all night. My best friend even said I probably danced more that night than in my entire life. He was also very flexible when we decided last minute that we needed the PA for the ceremony. I wish he lived in Austin so he could DJ our at home reception!

If you are getting married in San Juan and need a DJ - do yourself a favor and hire Big J!!! Not only was Big J awesome to work with while planning our wedding (super responsive, flexible, friendly, professional, etc), but he made our night awesome!! Joel was AMAZING!!! Such a professional!! The only vendor who was NOT on island time!!! For a bride who is handling it ALL herself this was such a breathe of fresh air!!!! Thank you Joel!!! Joel was recommended to me by wedding planner. He has great packages at reasonable prices. We spoke several times on the phone. He even changed my plan when we realized we needed additional equipment and still managed to give me a great deal!! I LOVE JOEL!!!! He was so pleasant, responsive and energetic!!! We finalized our most important songs the week of the wedding gave him direction on the type of music we liked and he took care of the rest. I was dancing ALL NIGHT!!! And so was everyone at the wedding....older, younger EVERYONE!!! We danced until the very last song!!!!

Big Joey is the REAL deal. This guy had so much life, excitement and energy the entire day and that is what you need in a DJ. Leading up to the big day, my wife and I had a particular sound we wanted. Old school R&B+ Hip Hop to keep you on your feet all night.

We gave Joey a well thought out list of songs but told him to take it and run with it....and that is exactly what he did. He kept people entertained with his cuts and mixes and he definitely fed off the crowd for what worked. The peak for me was when we told Joey that we wanted to do a tribute to southern hip hop since we, and most of our guests, are from the South. We had songs in mind..... BUT HIS DELIVERY WAS GRADE-A! When your guests say "This felt like we were back in college," you know it was done right. People raved at how much fun they had and a lot can be attributed to Joey for a job well done.

If you want a DJ that can easily adapt, versatile to various audiences, good energy and keeps the crowd going, he is your guy.

1000/10 - Joel is the BEST!

When we were planning our destination wedding in San Juan, we were nervous to book vendors without meeting them. But as soon as we got on a call with Joel, he walked us through his process (which includes a super organized app to add all of your music to), and he was such a genuinely nice guy who wanted to bring our vision to life. I can’t emphasize enough how fun he made our reception - the dance floor stayed full, he actually DJ’d (not just played a playlist), and the vibes were killer. I wish we could relive it. The value was great and included all lighting coordination and ceremony/cocktail hour support. He is a full service DJ and puts on an incredible event, Look no further for your wedding DJ if you want to have a memorable party!

Joel, Joel, Joel what can I say...you ROCK!!! My wedding receptions was 6 hours long and not once was the dance floor empty. You kept us all dancing even in the pouring rain, by the end of the night we were all soaking wet and it didn't matter. It was the best night ever.

The next day after the wedding everyone kept coming up to me asking "how did I find you?" one guy even asked me to call you and see if you could DJ at the hotel we were staying at the following night (Saturday) and that they would all pitch in on the cost! hahahahaha... funny enough we ended up running into you at the San Juan Hotel - I say it was a sign, you were meant to DJ my wedding and I'm so thankful.

Big J is outstanding! We hired his services for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at La Concha resort. He kept our guests dancing ALL NIGHT. He previously sent us a questionnaire asking for songs we wanted to include in our special day, but also allowed room for him to read the crowd. We had family and friends come up to us at the end of the evening (and the whole weekend) complimenting our DJ selection. Strongly recommend Big J’s services!

Big Joel was the DJ for my daughter's destination wedding in Puerto Rico. He had reasonable prices and did an excellent job! He played music that got the whole crowd dancing all night. I never dance and I danced the entire time. He provided uplighting that made the reception look amazing. He skyped with us anytime we wanted to before the wedding. He had forms for us to complete before the wedding so everything would run smoothly which it did. He had a great personality and all our guests had fun.

We had the best DJ!!!!!! We got tons of compliments after the wedding about how awesome our DJ was. We wanted a fun wedding with lots of dancing and that's exactly what we got. He stuck to the timeline perfectly, was very responsive and easy to work with, and played all the music exactly from my song list. I had to make a last minute change during the reception first dances and it wasn't a problem at all. I HIGHLY recommend DJ Joel!

Joel was our DJ recently for our destination wedding in San Juan. He listened to our suggestions and provided the perfect blend of old and new that fit our crowd really well. Joel freaking rocked! I’m so glad our wedding planner - Wanda Garcia - talked us out of a live band and into using Joel. He was able to play every single obscure song that we picked for our ceremony, and accommodated some last minute changes to get the crowd more pumped up. When it came time to the actual reception, our entire 40 person wedding was literally dancing from the moment dessert ended until Casa de Espana kicked us out. We had so many compliments from our guests on the music selection, and more than a few jealous comments! I cannot recommend him enough! Thank you, Joel!

Joel was amaaaazing on our wedding day! He was a great MC and the music was exactly what we wanted for each moment of the night! The whole experience working with him was great! He is very responsive and kind, we only talked a few times before the wedding and he got exactly what we wanted and pulled it off great! He is such a nice guy too, by the time the wedding came along we were like buddies! He makes you feel really calm and is super eager to please. He did a great job with the music and kept the party going with his energy and enthusiasm! There were a few details that I asked him to handle for me, like announcements and stuff, and he remembered everything and he always sought me out to make sure I was enjoying myself and to keep things on track! The night definitely wouldn't have gone as smoothly without him!

My wife and I appreciate Big J so much! He took the vibe we were going for, and exceeded the destination wedding expectations! Our guest had a ball! As people of color, we were concerned about the type of music we wanted to be played. Hip Hop and R&B. And was a little concerned that the West coast music I am used to could meet the East Coast vibe my wife is used to. But Big J made it happen! His energy is amazing, and I am so happy we had him for our wedding and reception Thank you J!!

I couldn’t have asked more from DJ Lopez. I sent him a list of songs and he found a perfect mixture with his own traditional Puerto Rican music along with other Latin sounds that made for a great and fun night. The best part of his service was that when I asked for a special song to commemorate the marriage of a couple near and dear to my bride, he was able to find it quickly and play it. He was sharp and enthusiastic and I would recommend him for any occasion, especially a wedding. We were very satisfied and he played an integral role in our special night.

Best Dance Party

DJ Joel is amazing. He was very responsive, professional and easy going. We met with him once and corresponded the rest of the time via email since I was planning from NY. We hired his services for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at Los Jardines del Castillo. He did an amazing job mixing the english and spanish music and had everyone dancing from the moment he started until the end. It was the best dance party ever. I would highly recommend him.

Absolutely epic

Big J is the best DJ I've ever seen, and I worked for 10 years as a wedding photographer. He was very detail oriented, thoughtful and kind before the wedding. At the wedding he was eloquent with amazing transitions and introductions. Don't even get me started on the dance floor. We had a mixed wedding and let me tell you the dance floor did not stop for 2.5 hours. Every guest said it was the best wedding dance floor they have attended. He went way above and beyond for us.

My great friend who runs a wedding DJ business with 400 events under his belt said, "he's the best DJ I've ever seen"

Joel is amazing!! I met him with my husband back in December of 2012 when we were just beginning the wedding planning process. He was the DJ at a venue we viewed. Fast forward.. We ended up choosing a different venue but he was the DJ we knew we wanted to hire. My husband misplaced the card Joel gave him during our trip so the next thing you know was a search for Joel. Why all the trouble for this one DJ? His energy and personality left a lasting impression on us... He was funny, full of life, and very laid-back.. Our kind of guy! I then booked a trip to PR in April of 2013 to specifically meet with vendors. My sister and I met with Joel and all was confirmed! He was just as amazing as the first time I (quickly) met him!! We hired him that day! His energy, personality, professionalism, attentiveness to his business... Joel is the whole package! Oh! and he's an MC which makes everything that much easier!! Thank you so so much Joel for such an amazing wedding experience and all the help you have gracefully given me throughout this past year!!

I just had a small wedding on August 4th 2018. I was the most nervous about the music because of the diverse group that was invited. Joel nailed it!!! Not only was he so reassuring about his music from beginning to end. He executed everything so smooth that I almost forgot it was my wedding. I was so entertained and so were my guest that they did not even want to end the reception. They would have kept going if they could. I was so impressed on how he was able to provide music at my ceremony on the beach!! He even made last minute change right before the reception! He had done request but also read the crowd and kept everyone happy. I could not thank him enough. He was fantastic!

Amazing service

My entire wedding was spectacular, but Big J absolutely stood out to all of our guests. Big J had the entire wedding party on the dance floor the entire night. We didn't even provide him much so a play list, he was able to feel out the crowed and get the right songs at the right time. Big J is also very friendly and accommodating unlike a lot of DJ's. The few requests for announcements or songs we made he was great about. I would go out of my way to recommend Big J to anyone having a wedding in Puerto Rico, he was fantastic and very affordable.

Joel was the BEST!!! He knew exactly what type of music to play for our guests and did not get bothered when we requested songs as most Djs usually do. I had everyone asking who the DJ was.

Best DJ in Puerto Rico!

Our wedding planner Rosalina Torres recommended Big J to do the music for our wedding and are we super happy she did! Joel did an amazing job! He played exactly what we wanted and even played music that he thought would get my guests dancing! The whole night my guests were on their feet dancing the night away!! We had a power outage at one point and the music was still playing! I don't know how he did that but it was super awesome! My husband and I couldn't have had anyone better, Joel is the best! I would recommend Big J music to everyone and anyone who needed music for their event, whether it be a wedding, birthday celebration, or a corporate event! He is amazing! Thank you Joel for playing awesome music at our wedding you are amazing, professional, nice, and just absolutely awesome!!

Joel was an awesome DJ. I just got married this past Memorial Day and selected Joel due to his very positive reviews and he did not disappoint. He was very easy to get in touch with, responding within just a few hours of contacting and he made the reception so fun. Understood the assignment!!

I told Joel during our first conversation. I am having a small wedding, but I want it to feel like it’s a non stop party. He absolutely delivered!! His app was easy to use and I added all of the music I wanted from ceremony to the reception and he executed beautifully. I literally danced the entire night and the vibes where perfection! His behind the scenes captures of the night he posted on IG, although not included in the package were unexpected and a nice touch to relive the next day. If you want a party executed to your exact expectations and beyond you need Big J!

I would give Joel 10 stars if I could! All I can say is, WOW! He did our wedding on March 24th, 2018, and cannot explain how fantastic he was as a DJ. Seriously, look no farther than his page right here. The ENTIRE night the dance floor was packed! I've been to a LOT of weddings and never before have I seen so many people dancing and having fun for such a long stretch of time. People were drenched in sweat from dancing so hard (my husband included). I had at least 10 people come up to me to tell me what an awesome job he was doing, and I couldn't help but pay him a few compliments myself! We had a wide range of ages present at our wedding but he knew how to get the older generation on the dance floor while still playing fun popular songs that are great to dance to for all the rest of us. The only instructions I had were him were NO stupid dance songs like the Macarena, and play "New York, New York" and "Shout". And man did he deliver. Not to mention, his prices are more than fair, he is extremely responsive, and you can tell he loves what he does. I would get married again just to go to one of his parties.

What a Night!

Joel is simply amazing! We celebrated our marriage with a destination wedding in Puerto Rico. The majority of our planning was performed by email. We were in constant contact with Joel and he was very responsive to our emails and requests. We had him prepare a remix for our first dance and continued to make edits until we heard the version that we loved. The music on the night of the wedding was exactly what we had asked for and more that catered to us and our family and friends. The dance floor was full of energy. Great MC, warm, entertaining, and professional. Absolutely made our night.
We were so happy with him and would request over and over again!

DJ Joel Lopez made everything very simple for us and that was such a relief because planning a wedding can be quite stressful. We asked if he was available on the day of our wedding and he said yes and then told us how much it would cost. He played for us at our reception for 5 hours and that was plenty of time and I think he charged a reasonable price as well. He asked us what type of music we liked. We sent him a list of songs and artists that we liked, so he could get a feel for what we wanted. We also told him what song we would like to have played for our first dance together and we let him know that we would also like him to incorporate some Puerto Rican music as well. From this, he made perfect choices. We loved all the music he played. It was a great mix of Puerto Rican, Rap, and R&B, which is what we wanted - you can ask for anything. He also knew when to play slower songs and when to play faster songs. He also did not mind at all if someone wanted to go up and request a song. If he had it, he would play it. And, he never played the same song twice! Joel is fun and professional and he is a great DJ and I would highly recommend him.

Joey did a phenomenal job! He played our ceremony music, and our reception. The dancing continued all night long! Our guests made requests and he even hooked up their Iphones to his system to play their music! Everyone said we had the wedding of the century!

Joel is AMAZING!!! I found Big J Music off the vendor list from the hotel I used. I sent him an email and he responded quickly. The entire planning process was seamless with his follow-up. Joel was professional, easy to get along with and had my dance floor full the entire night! His energy level helped set the tone for the evening and everyone was raving about how great he was all weekend long. You get your money's worth when you hire Big J Music!
