We could not imagine our wedding without Joe. He was so helpful, and he went above and beyond to make our day special. He could not have done anything better! If you’re in search of a personable, genuine and professional Dj/MC, do yourself a favor and go with Joe. You will absolutely not regret it. -

When we first came across Big Island Productions, we were impressed by his many positive reviews. He did not disappoint! It was clear from our first call that he has a lot of knowledge and experience in the industry. We gave him our song selections and do not play list and he gave us helpful feedback on our choices. The music was seamless throughout the night, our dance floor was always full, the sound was great, and we got lots of compliments from guests. Joe is the best! -

Joe was fantastic to work with! From the beginning Joe was very responsive and great to work with. We were also a 2020 wedding that was postponed twice. Through each postponement and scrambling to find new dates, Joe was responsive and very easy to work with. As we (finally) approached our big day, Joe did a great job of navigating us through what would work best for the celebration we wanted. He gave great advice and feedback and worked with our vision. Our guests had a great time thanks to Big Island Productions! -

My wife and I unfortunately had to wait a bit longer to find a DJ. We were very fortunate to have found Joe, as he had just had his schedule open up for the date of our wedding. We were very nervous about the short timeline, but that was all alleviated when we got to meet Joe in person. Joe was exactly what were were looking for and he was very patient and hard-working on our requests. Joe made the evening fun and exciting, even following through with some of our more obscure music requests. We could not thank Joe more for making our wedding as great as it was! We highly highly recommend Joe for your wedding! -

Had doubts about hiring a newish DJ I never heard of, but my experience exceeded all expectations. Fun DJ with great music, fair prices and happy to accommodate several special requests throughout the event. Would not hesitate to hire Big island for our next affair. -

Joe was much more than a DJ. He allowed our wedding to be as efficient as possible with the time that we had. He studies your event timing and allows your moments to feel natural and fluid. Joe makes it feel very natural and comfortable which really ends up setting a tone for the wedding itself. I do not think that our wedding would have turned out as perfectly as it did without his help. -

We used Joe for our 10/10/21 reception. He was great to work with and kept the dance floor full all night! We were originally set to marry the year before and wound up postponing our reception twice due to covid. He was super accommodating
throughout the whole process and kept moving our date with ease. When it came to our reception, we had some unique/over the top requests in terms of reworking some wedding traditions, songs we wanted played and collaborating with a band for part of the event - Joe did not miss a beat and exceeded our expectations! Definitely recommend!! -

The DJ was the one part of our wedding we were disappointed with. It was like he was playing for someone else's wedding, I wouldn't be surprised if he has a generic wedding playlist he reuses because we heard maybe 3 or 4 of our songs.
I guess our first red flag should have been that he said we were the youngest couple he's done and that we're really young to get married; we're both 27. A week before the wedding we had an over the phone meeting and my husband requested a specific song he wanted to slow dance with me; the night was almost over and my husband asked what happened to that song and the DJ said he forgot. (later commenting when we complained that it was "some obscure song") We also specifically told him absolutely NO country music, and that we knew a family member would go up and request just that and to not listen to her. He took her requests several times and she came to our table to gloat that she was able to bribe him because they had matching Jordans on. (the photographer got a picture of that to our dismay)
He told my husband that during the meal he would play ACDC, my husband said no, he did it anyway. We specified who our favorite singer/band was, I got to hear one song from my favorite singer which is fine, but my husband didn't get his favorite band played at all.
I understand that my husband and I have a more 'alternative' taste in music, but we really didn't want to hear the same songs that we've both heard a million times when we worked retail, and even if the DJ doesn't like our music it really shouldn't matter because it's what we're paying him to play.
I will give him credit that he got everyone dancing and the guests enjoyed themselves. (Though we did have a few comment that the music didn't seem like "us") We should have said something at the time, but we didn't want to dwell on it and let it ruin our night... but we feel like we paid way too much to get completely ignored, ESPECIALLY considering we both together gave him 5 hours worth of music to play, I didn't expect to hear all of it but we thought he'd at least get an idea of our tastes. It feels like we put in more work then he did. -
