A true professional

Ben had a great procedure and process to help guide us through our last minute wedding. (We were very lucky he just had a cancellation). He knows his crowds and what music to play and did a better job than we could have imagined. We are so grateful for Ben making our ceremony run seamlessly and for truly lighting up our party.

Ben Absolutely Crushed

Ben knocked it out of the park and made our wedding truly unforgettable. Music was an extremely important part of our ceremony/afterparty and we never felt worried about whether or not it was all going to work. From the procession music to the speeches to the final party, the music and volume levels were perfectly handled. On the DJing front, we gave Ben a list for inspiration, and he just absolutely nailed our vibe on the night. A+++ all around rockstar performance.

Amazing! Best choice we made.

During our planning process my husband and I had the DJ/band debate; I wanted a band and he wanted a DJ. We got together with my husband's best man and he and his wife had just came back from a wedding. He kept saying how great the DJ was and since I trusted his opinion (and this was one of only a few things my husband had asked for throughout the entire planning process) I asked for his contact information and reached out.

My biggest hesitation with a DJ was that we would get the same DJ you see at every other wedding; the guy who makes every announcement in that cheesy sportscaster voice and plays the same songs you hear every other wedding DJ play. In my opinion, every wedding I had been to that had a DJ was the same and was nothing super impressive in terms of music. However, once Ben and I jumped on a call and discussed his vibe and how he is not a wedding DJ but rather a DJ who also does weddings I felt confident that hiring him was the right choice.

Throughout the entire process Ben was awesome! He helped guide us with the flow of the night, gave us suggestions for our entrance songs, gave his honest opinion on whether he thought something was too fast or too slow, and answered any questions we had along the way. He was even awesome enough to accommodate us by playing Greek music (my husband is Greek and we wanted to make sure that was part of our night). He also has a strong attention to detail which as someone who also has that, I appreciated it and found it extremely helpful. We changed things on him quite a few times and he had no problem with any of it. He was extremely friendly, easy going, and most importantly knew music.

Needless to say, our reception was AMAZING! Our guests danced all night long. Even some of our hard to impress guests were dancing all night and kept saying how amazing Ben was. He had our photographers dancing and singing too! Afterwards our guests kept asking us who the DJ was, where we found him, how to contact him, and kept telling us how our reception was one of the most fun receptions they had ever been to. Ben does an unbelievable job of mixing old and new to keep everyone dancing and really knows what he's doing. We also had several people tell us how much they loved watching him DJ. He gets so into it! Nothing about him is "cheesy" or "average wedding DJ". He's the real deal.

I really can't recommend Ben enough. We couldn't be happier with our choice in hiring him and he's the reason our reception was as fun as it was!

Amazing Party Atmosphere

Hiring Beyonder Events for our wedding was the best thing we could have done! Ben and Mikey were both super accommodating and extremely knowledgeable about what they do. we saw Ben with Beyonder Events at a friends wedding and, even though we were not even engaged at the time, made the decision immediately that when we get married we will be hiring them. My husband and I both knew from the start that we wanted a DJ from the get go, but finding the right person to work with you is the hard part! Not with these guys. Mikey and Ben were both reliable and easy going, knew what to do and knew the answers to my questions before I asked them. Our day of DJ was Mikey Palms, and we couldn’t say enough good things about him! Mikey knew exactly what we wanted from our party and gave us the best night!
From the first phone call to get to know each other, to emails back and forth, ending with an in person meeting a week before our wedding to nail down the details, we have zero complaints and would absolutely recommend Mikey, and the rest of the Beyonder group.

Cornell helped us create the best dance party for our wedding!

Hiring Beyonder Events was an easy decision for us. They were initially recommended to us by our wedding planner. Prior to booking, we went to listen to Cornell at a bar in NYC where he DJs, and thought he would be great at our wedding, which he was! We wanted a big dance party, which Cornell made happen. Overall, Cornell was excellent and I would recommend him without reservations. It was also a pleasure working with Ben, who was professional, thorough, and prompt with emails, which made the planning process easy and enjoyable.

Kept everyone dancing all night!

We hired Cornell from Beyonder Events for our wedding this past August and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. From the moment we spoke with Ben over the phone we knew we had made a great choice. We were determined to find someone that would make our event one amazing party and would not include any of the cliché wedding things that we just weren’t interested in having. Ben assured us that they were DJ’s first that just do weddings and we can say they are true to that. Everyone is still telling us how much fun they had at our wedding and that it was one of the best they had been to and I truly feel that has so much to do with the music that was played. Cornell had everyone dancing for the full five hours! He also strongly adhered to our do not play list even when family asked and I am so grateful for that as well. We simply can’t say enough positive things about them and how they helped to make our wedding everything we wanted it to be.

Ben was the DJ for our Sept wedding and simply put, he was AMAZING! Ben was recommended by our friends who hired him to DJ their wedding several years ago and we are so glad that we took their recommendation. From the first phone call to the last song at the wedding, Ben was professional, easy to work with, knowledgeable and most importantly fun! We also had a band at our wedding and Ben made the transitions between the band sets and his sets soo smooth, which was key for us. He played all of the music we told him that we liked, plus music that he knew would work well with our crowd. Ben kept our guests up and dancing until 1am! Everyone had such a great time and we have Ben to thank for the energy and fun atmosphere of the dance floor. Ben was the DJ for our wedding last weekend and we haven't stopped talking about him since! From the initial email to the end of our reception, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. He listened to exactly what we were hoping to achieve on our wedding day and matched our vibe a hundred percent. He is incredibly easy to talk to and responds to emails immediately. He coordinated the sound with our venue so we didn't have to worry about a thing as we got closer to the big day. The questionnaire is incredibly thorough and was extremely helpful as choosing songs can be a bit of a daunting task if you don't know where to start. He was thoughtful and encouraging and always made us feel well taken care of. You can tell just how much he loves his job and values providing the best service possible from the very first phone call. When planning our wedding, we wanted to throw the best party imaginable: a non-traditional ceremony, lighthearted atmosphere, and an upbeat, unrelenting energy from processional to after-party. Ben was critical to realizing our vision.

We met with Ben early in the planning process, reinforcing our confidence in our choice, especially when he mentioned the goal of an inter-generational dance floor, seamlessly shifting from Biggie to The Supremes. Immediately, we knew he grasped our taste and vision and we understood what he needed from us to deliver. Leading up to the wedding, Ben reviewed our music selections with us. We provided do not play, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing suggestions. However, we entrusted him, as an expert, to modify as needed. That trust paid off.

Ben delivered beyond our already high expectations: the dance floor was packed from first dance to last song and people have repeatedly commented since on the amazing music and party atmosphere. In fact, I had a friend ask last weekend if I had a playlist from our wedding to share since he was at a wedding where music was killing the party. Ben established a new standard for many of our friends.

And about his goal for an inter-generational dance floor: 100% delivered. He had my 70-something-years-old, very Midwest mother dancing indiscriminately to the music, not just to a classic oldies or two.

We believe the night wouldn't have exceeded our expectations without Ben's talent fueling the party; and thus, we recommend with absolute confidence that he'll deliver the same unmatched experience for your wedding!

We first saw Ben in action at a close friends wedding in 2017 and knew we HAD to have him DJ our wedding because he knows how to put on ONE BIG DANCE PARTY! From the very first meeting we had, to our wedding reception this past weekend, Ben was a total rockstar and was by far our favorite wedding vendor. He’s everything you want in a DJ - cool cat vibe (and look) while he DJs, great taste in music, super calm and accommodating, yet at the same time, isn’t afraid to make great suggestions. Other wedding vendors, including our day-of-coordinator also commented on how awesome it was to work and collaborate with him. He was also excellent with dealing with on-the-fly updates to the timeline and music on the day.

More than anything, he let’s his superbly curated music do the talking. We vibed on the music with him throughout the evening, often looking over and mouthing the lyrics of songs we both loved. He was totally in sync with us and the crowd. Some amazing compliments we received from our friends and family below:

If you're looking for the BEST DJ EVER for your wedding reception... he is right here!! Music to me and my husband was the most important part of our wedding day and Ben delivered to us (and our guests) the BEST music I have EVER experienced at a wedding!! I am still hearing rave reviews from everyone... the feedback from guests has been absolutely incredible!! Overwhelming! I am all smiles because it was truly all I wanted to hear and it's been beyond my wildest expectations. Not only is Ben a genius with mixing music; he is organized, professional and just gets it!!! Beyonder Events was incredibly professional and responsive leading up to the wedding. After an initial interview, we were matched with Mikey as our DJ, whose musical tastes matched up best with ours. Mikey was very warm and welcoming from the beginning, helping us to get excited about the music for the party. He was also very willing to tailor the wedding to our musical tastes, which was very important to us. Ben & Mikey collaboratively helped us plan out the schedule for the whole wedding day beforehand, and made a great playlist which definitely got everyone moving on the dance floor. He was able to read the crowd and keep the party going while still adhering to our musical tastes and somewhat non-traditional preferences. We could not have asked for a better DJ- we had a great time working with Mikey and he truly made our wedding reception so much fun!

Hiring Ben was without a doubt one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He is a consummate professional in every way. He was incredible to plan with before the wedding, and he communicated with us during the wedding to make sure everything was going smoothly. He has a real talent for reading the energy in a room and had everyone dancing the entire night!! Everyone had such a good time that when he announced the last song, the whole wedding booed because they wanted him to keep the party going. Hire Ben. Seriously. Just do it. Ben had a phone call with us to make sure he understood exactly what we were looking for. Our wedding setup was a little complicated in that it had three separate areas that needed sound and music, and we also requested an instrumentalist to play along side the DJ. Ben made it all happen! Everybody was up dancing the entire night of our wedding and complimented the music selection. In fact, people had such a great time, they almost missed the shuttle to leave! Ben and Richie were truly incredible and we had an amazing time, as did our guests. Ben was able to read the room perfectly and deliver exactly what we had asked for and discussed. I would not hesitate to recommend him!

Ben is fantastic. He was the DJ for our wedding a month ago, and we would recommend him to anyone in the highest terms. He is extraordinarily easy to work with, highly professional, and committed to his craft. He took time to meet with us in person before the event to learn our preferences and make sure he was fully prepared to make the day great. During the wedding, Ben had everyone at our wedding on the dance floor, from teenagers to grandparents, throughout for the whole night. My (now) husband and I began searching for a DJ super early for our 10/8/2017 wedding. We figured that what most people remember about weddings is the music and the food. We knew we needed to nail those two things. I was looking through wedding blogs and saw a photo of this cool cat at the helm of his set-up and the floor was packed. Mental note made: Beyonder Events (Ben) I looked through his website real quick, along with the usual wedding sites and he’s got great reviews. THEN we go to my friends January wedding in Brooklyn and guess who’s DJ’ing? BEN! So I say to my friend that night-How did this happen? Turns out Ben and my friends (now) husband grew up together. The universe was talking to me and I listened. I reached out to Ben soon after and we immediately clicked via email. My husband and I really wanted someone who KNEW music, someone who knew GOOD music. Sounds so basic but we’ve all been to weddings where DJ’s are phoning it in and cut through songs too quickly. None of that please.Ben is a busy man and I was probably a bit Type A, never the less he was quick to respond to emails and had a super laid back vibe. A perfect balance for a Type A. My husband and I had spent a good part of the year compiling a list of songs on Spotify. We learned soon enough that yes, we can give him a playlist but rather than do that, why not give him a vibe (and the must plays) and let him fly. Ben did an amazing job at our wedding on 11-4-17 at the Dumbo Loft. Ben was recommended to us by a mutual friend and we are so glad we were put in contact with him. All contact leading up to the wedding was prompt and professional, and the questionnaire Ben provided helped us think about the musical choices we wanted for our day. We met with him a few weeks prior to the wedding and he was super helpful in putting together the musical timeline for the day, as well as giving great suggestions on how to make things flow better. He listened carefully to what we wanted, and I knew from that meeting we were going to be in good hands. The day of the wedding he arrived on time and had everything set up and ready to go. He provided a standing mic for our ceremony and did a pre-ceremony sound check with our Officiant to ensure everything was perfect. Every musical choice at the wedding was spot-on; he played all the songs we had requested but also intuitively knew what song to play next based on how the crowd was reacting. We wanted a dance party, and he gave us just that without being showy or in-your-face like some wedding djs are. I would frequently look over and see him genuinely having such a good time dj-ing, and you could tell that he takes pride in his work. He frequently checked in with my husband and I throughout the night to make sure the vibe was what we wanted. Our crowd stayed on the dance floor the entire night, and we would hire him again in a heartbeat. Ben, thank you so much for helping us create the wedding we envisioned!

We booked Beyonder Events for our wedding based on Ben's super chill personality and awesome mashups (and the price), and he did not disappoint!! We weren't looking for the type of DJ that puts on a show and we also weren't looking for DJ that only plays the typical wedding playlist. Between my husband and I, we have a pretty extensive range of music we like, which Ben was very open to, and we wanted a PARTY.
Before the big day, he helped us put together a timeline of the night, he was flexible with payments (and he has Venmo!), and he completely got the vibe we were going for based on our must plays and do not plays. The night of, he was in contact with us the entire time letting us know things like our maitre'd wanted him to play "Shots" during the intermezzo pass around (which we didn't want), and giving us a heads up for when he was going to turn things up again.
He showed up dressed nicely with just his equipment, nothing flashy (exactly what we wanted) and did professional announcements for the speeches and cake cutting (no corny stuff or pointing people out etc). He did an amazing job mixing the oldies and new music and we had compliments from everyone - teenage boys to middle age women. Above all, we had a blast, everyone was dancing (including Ben!), and it was truly the party we imagined. Our maitre'd actually told us she's never seen this much dancing at a wedding.
Highly, highly recommended!

Ben was the first vendor we booked for our wedding. And it turned out to be a fabulous decision.
We were having a cocktail style wedding reception, so music was very important to us as we wanted to be on the dance floor all night. Therefore, music was first up on the agenda when we started our planning. After researching and contacting about 8 DJ companies, we knew what we didn't want.
We didn't want these cookie cutter companies that would have given us the same wedding experience as everyone else.
We wanted something different. That is where Ben stood out...He sold himself, "as a DJ that does weddings, not a wedding DJ."
Think about that for a moment...we did and we decided, that is exactly what we wanted.
As this is one of the lead roles on such an important day, we felt it was necessary to meet in person to review our expectations and to make sure we felt comfortable working with him before we signed the contract.
(Believe me, with most of those "cookie cutters", you don't even get a chance to meet the DJ "they assign to your wedding".)
Setting up a meeting with Ben was easy. We liked him immediately and signed the contract that night.
Ben and I emailed a few times over the next 9+ months to stay in touch.
A few weeks before the wedding, we had a detailed phone call and supplied the necessary details he needed (like names for the entrance and must have's/must never play, etc.). We also had family members that were singing for our first dances and Ben accommodated our needs easily and even spoke directly to our cousin to make sure everyone had what they needed.
And then, just like that, Ben delivered one hell of a party!
The music was amazing! Ben was on point all night and read the crowd perfectly.
I still receive compliments on the music...he mixed in some goodies that we didn't even think of! He was perfect - not one thing I would have changed. Clearly, because I never left the dance floor. Lol

Ben DJ'd our wedding last weekend and was amazing! He met with us before the wedding to get a feel for our musical tastes and served up the perfect playlist on the day-of. Ben struck the perfect balance between asking us what we wanted and using his own expertise to create the perfect atmosphere. He had everyone on the dance floor for hours and also handled all of our announcements and last-minute curveballs with ease. We've been complimented on the music all week, and we know that Ben was a huge part of a successful night. Highly recommended!

I heard about Ben and Beyonder Events through a girlfriend - I was her day-of coordinator, and Ben and I got along so well at her wedding, and had this killer playlist, so it was kind of an easy choice when our wedding came along. From the first meeting, Ben was matter-of-fact but kind, detail-oriented but also easy-going. Even when we had last-minute dance changes, he just rolled with it and really made what could've been a tight space into a fantastic reception. Our friends were gushing about the playlist. Ben took our suggestions and ran with them - and we really couldn't be happier. Ben was quick to respond to my initial inquiry, hopping on the phone to answer my many questions and concerns. We also had a great conversation about music that totally solidified he was the right DJ for us. Aside from possessing a clear passion for music, Ben is extremely thorough. His process covers all bases and allows for as much (or as little) engagement as you desire. As someone who wanted to be a bit more hands on, I appreciated Ben's willingness to let me share various/extensive playlists for the different parts of the reception. When all was said and done, the music came out great and we received a lot of compliments. Hard to ask for more than that.

I really can't praise Ben and Beyonder Events more for their professionalism throughout the preparation and attention to detail. We encountered him at a friends wedding and quickly saw his ability to read a room and knew that we had to book him for our own wedding. He had the dance floor packed from start to finish and knew just what the crowd needed. Ben didn't stop spinning the hot beats and my guests certainly didn't stop moving. Exceptional work and the finale was something my wife and I will remember and cherish forever. 100/100 A+ work from this vendor.

We absolutely loved working with Ben and having Ben DJ our wedding. We were married in a restaurant in NYC, and Ben did a fantastic job setting the vibe from the moment guests entered. He was incredibly responsive to what we wanted as a couple and made sure that nothing felt like a "cheesy wedding." He had a really epic read on the room, from classics at the beginning of the night, to pop and old school hip hop mash ups later in the evening. He kept everyone dancing and the mood really happy, romantic, and fun. He was very easy to work with, and we cannot speak highly enough about Ben as our DJ. We recommend him to anyone looking for someone to help them create a great atmosphere and party.

We loved working with Beyond Events! Ben was super professional from the first consultation right through to our wedding day, and Cornell, who actually played our wedding was the best! We had an outdoor, pool party style wedding and really were NOT looking for a 'traditional, cheesy wedding DJ' We wanted to create more of a festival, party vibe... and Cornell killed it! He really guided the atmosphere through the afternoon, (while people were drinking margaritas, swimming, and doing some pool side dancing) feel right through to the last folks tearing it up on the dance floor. We gave him some guidance of what we were after (mainly 90s pop and hip hop, with a smattering of Britpop and latin tunes - our wedding guests were a mixture of Brits, Colombians and Brooklynites) and he really hit the nail on the head. We had a great night and DEFINITELY would recommend Cornell and Beyonder events to anyone who wants to PARTY at their wedding.

My husband and I are so happy that we decided to go with Natasha Diggs for our DJ; we knew from the start that music was the most important thing to us and we are very picky people. We loved working with Beyonder Events, Ben who is the manager is extremely responsive and professional, as was Natasha. We gave her some general ideas of what music we liked and what we didn't like and let her take it from there; she nailed it, every second of the wedding. We still have family and friends calling us to say they have never danced so much in their life! Everyone had such a great time, she is truly a talented and wonderful woman. Ben was absolutely essential to our wedding. He understood exactly what we wanted (which was an epic dance party) and delivered. He did a fantastic job of combining old school and new music in a way that didn't feel like the traditional dj trajectory of old first, then new stuff later. He had it all so interwoven that at one point my in-laws were dancing to DJ Kool, and later in the night played music that got the older generation back on the dance floor without losing the younger crowd. He was also in charge of announcing speeches and dinner, and did so seamlessly, without doing that weird show boaty thing DJ's sometimes do. A couple of times throughout the night Ben would come check in with us, and make sure everything was going well on our end. My favorite moment was when he asked whether we wanted to wait to announce the last song, or fool our guests with a last song announcement and then hit them with a 15 minute mash up. (We opted for the mash-up, obviously). Everyone is still telling us how awesome the music was. At the end of the night we told Ben that we're going to have to throw more big parties so he can come back and DJ again. We can't recommend him highly enough!

We used Ben Carlin of Beyonder as our wedding DJ a week ago in Brooklyn. He was awesome in all respects! He (thankfully) wasn't the stereotypical wedding DJ. Instead, you can tell he really knows his music and knows what will make a crowd react, and just happens to DJ at weddings. It felt more like a dance party than a wedding, which is way more fun for everybody! He worked with us and didn't judge our guilty pleasure requests. He also correctly read the room and managed to pick songs he could tell we and our guests would like. Every single person loved the music and said our wedding was the most fun one they've been to -- and we owe a lot of that to Ben Carlin!!!

With the recommendation of a friend we booked Ben as our wedding DJ. From the pre event meetings to the run up to the event, Ben was the perfectly accommodating and supportive. When we struggled to find songs to fit certain moments, he quickly whipped up a playlist that made those tense few days before the wedding much easier. He deftly handled a non traditional ceremony, and gave us the best introduction for our first dance we could ever ask more. As for the event itself, Ben read the room perfectly getting everyone ages 10 to 92 on the dance floor and keeping them there. Easily our favorite vendor. And after several guests complimented us for the music we played (and so many sick mashups). Book Ben!

Ben had DJ'd our friends' wedding last year, so when we were planning ours he was the first person we wanted to reach out to. From the initial communications to the end of the party, Ben was amazing. The music was very important to us to make sure that the wedding felt like us, and he set the vibe perfectly. For the ceremony, Ben was very supportive of all of our decisions (like playing Kool & The Gang for the bridal processional) and gave us a ton of recommendations when we weren't sure what direction we wanted to go. And the reception music was perfect! Everyone of every age was on the dance floor, and he was able to blend different styles together to make everyone comfortable. Ben DJed our wedding last weekend and he was fantastic. The entire process, from our initial conversation to the planning, the actual day, and tying up all loose ends after--Ben made sure it all felt smooth and easy. He was prepared, enthusiastic, checked in with us without being a bother, and created a really fun dance floor! I think I was most impressed with how Ben was able to strike a balance between fun and warm but also professional and detailed. We had some specific requests and wedding customs (one set of dancing was traditional jewish music and the second was regular party music) and Ben handled them like a pro! My husband and I chose Ben to DJ our wedding on Saturday, September 3rd - it was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process. He was extremely professional, kind, warm, and talented! Our guests loved Ben and all the music he played - Motown, 80s pop, classic hip-hop, today's hits - the dance floor was constantly packed! Later in the evening he played all of our requests for Greek music (my husband is Cypriot and had many family members fly in from Cyprus) which thrilled my in-laws!

My husband and I have eclectic tastes, and Ben somehow managed to highlight them. I gave him a list of some of our favorite songs (indie, folk, etc) and he played them during dinner. Our guests were able to hear some really great music without taking away from the party feel of the night!

Throughout the night Ben would check in on us to make sure we were happy with how things were going. He was a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend him to anyone!!!

Ben recently DJ'd our wedding and did an amazing job. Professional, courteous and punctual from start to end Ben was a pleasure to work with. But, most importantly played great music the entire night. My wife and I really wanted and rocking dance party for our wedding without any of the formal wedding shtick. Ben exceeded out expectations on this front and expertly threaded our tastes for the more relaxed cocktail hour (blues, Rnb, soul, reggae) and upbeat reception (hip hop, 80s and 90s dance, RnB, classic rock). Ben was amazing from the first time we met him. He and my (now) husband instantly clicked on musical tastes, but he also respected and acknowledged my (wildly divergent) ones. We didn't have a day-of planner, and Ben acted as our MC as well as our DJ without ever being over the top, and did an unbelievably smooth job of keeping the day on track, on time, and seamless. He was present but not corny, he checked in with us throughout the night to make sure that we were ready for the next big moment, he handled our very enthusiastic guests with grace, and he had every single person at our wedding out on the dance floor at some point. We've had so many people tell us we had the best wedding they have been to--and Ben was a HUGE part of that. He's definitely one of the best decisions we made in this process.

Ben Carlin is one of the best vendors (and easily the best DJ) I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He was recommended to us by trusted friends, and the consummate professional from day one. He anticipated our every need and was impressivdely proactive with all pre-wedding communications and decisions. We respected that he had his own sensibilities and (tasteful) opinions, and kept us from making some dumb decisions while also being highly flexible with some of our quirkier choices. From the processionals to the incredible dance party to the cake he was seamless, integrating all of our request perfectly and doing some really sick mashups and transitions. Ben's take-charge attitude and considerable experience was a value add: he gracefully coordinated all of the evening's events with restaurant staff, our party coordinator, and the venue owner. We couldn't be happier. As with other reviewers here, our friends and family were singing his praises throughout the night, with many saying it was the best party ever. Book him...book him NOW (seriously, he books quick).

When we were planning our wedding, we had one goal in mind; make it an epic dance party for the books- and with Ben, that mission was accomplished. We spoke a lot before hand about what we wanted, didn't want, and anything that was important to us to make this party go off the way we wanted to. He more than delivered- he played exactly what we wanted to hear and totally riffed on his own in the perfect direction. On top of that, his announcements and more formal moments were very understated while still getting the job done. There was nothing cheesy or "Wedding DJ" abut him. Additionally, he had no problem creating a remix of the important songs from our wedding to use as part of our wedding favor! Not often you find someone to put in the time outside of the allotted hours to do something like that. We keep hearing how it was the best wedding reception ever and we owe a lot of that to Ben. BOOK HIM!

We cannot say enough about how simply AMAZING Cornell was at our wedding. One of the complements we got throughout the night was about how amazing the music was and how everyone could not stop dancing. Ben and Cornell listened to all of our feedback throughout the planning process and had amazing suggestions. Cornell kept the entire wedding party young and old dancing all night including my now husband's 80-year old grandparents. It was fantastic. We just got home from our wedding and we can't say enough about Ben Carlin. He went above and "Beyonder" our expectations. He is a professional that does professional work. Ben read the energy in the room and had everyone dancing within the first few minutes. He definitely knows music and people. There were no cheesy songs, just amazing songs that lasted throughout our wedding until the end of the night. He was great with our family and friends as well. Ben was so helpful as we planned our list of wedding songs, and was very attentive to our 'do not play' list, as well as to some special requests we had - including playing "Piano Man" at exactly 9 p.m...."It's 9 o'clock on a Saturday..." All of our guests loved the music and were dancing for the entire night. People still tell me almost 2 years later that they had such a fun time at our wedding and a lot of that was due to DJ Ben!

Ben was outstanding. He's definitely a music guy and knows how to get a party going and keep it going while working within a genre or style of your choice. We had a crowd that was very into 90s music and he was able to weave in great tracks from today and the 90s standards seamlessly. He also coordinated the sound for our ceremony and cocktail hours and even after hitting a snag before the ceremony, he had a backup and was ready to go! I can't say enough good things about Ben Carlin, aka The Beyonder. We probably would have had a good wedding without him, but I can honestly say that thanks to him it was a true hit. Every guest we spoke to raved about Ben—from our parents to the young crowd. He impressed my now-wife and I from the very first conversation we had, asking really insightful questions about our wedding ceremony and reception, and he really listened to us. He has great and very cool taste in music and yet never failed to aim to please us and the crowd. He was prompt and totally professional, worked well with our venue, and just made everything easy for us. He played our requests and interpreted the energy of the crowd and really was a master at creating the perfect vibe for every part of the night. There are wedding DJs and then great DJs who will do weddings--and Ben is the latter. He is technically great and a pleasure to work with. Needless to say, I hope I don't have another wedding--but if I did, I know who I'd have to get as the DJ.

Ben dj'd our wedding at Deity and put on such a great dance party! He is very easy to work with and provided a lot of suggestions when we were struggling with the intro and first dance songs. We had a family member kick off our ceremony by singing "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran for which Ben found a background track. He did an awesome job with our reception, feeling out the guests on what got them on the dance floor and keeping the party going. Our wedding day went so smoothly and we had such a blast and Ben was a big part of the success.

We booked Ben for our wedding this past weekend and couldn't be happier! We originally were in the market to hire a band and spent a good amount of time vetting lots of groups with no luck. Finally we started researching DJs and stumbled across 74 Events who paired us with Ben. We knew we were going to hire Ben the moment we met him. Very chill, professional and upbeat, he was exactly what we wanted in a DJ! Leading up to our day we met with him and just our conversation with him and Gary from 74 Events got us excited for the wedding!

The amount of relief we felt when We walked into our wedding tent and saw Ben set up and ready to rock is indescribable. Our guests danced from the moment we hit the dance floor to the last possible second! It was the best party ever and Ben was always there checking in with us, guiding us gently into the timeline and above all he seemed to be able to read all our minds and play every song we requested and the ones we forgot to request!

Beyonder Events DJs are not your corny wedding DJs. You'll get a tasteful event with awesome music, and no Funky Chicken. Ben was amazing and professional. Natasha Diggs was the DJ he made available for our wedding, but I know his other DJs and they are all talented and professional. We opted to give them minimal guidance on song choice, instead letting them know out general style--Natasha hit the ball out of the park with the song choices. Highly recommended!

Ben was fantastic! We'd read the reviews on this site already so our expectations were kind of high going into the day, and Ben did not disappoint in the least. Our main goal was to get everyone on the dance floor and keep them there for a full 2+ hours and that's exactly what happened. Our guests were singing Ben's praises later that night and the following morning -- everyone agreed that he did an amazing job. He totally got the vibe we were going for from the sample list of songs we provided, and everything felt exactly right. We'd asked him to happily take any requests as long as they were in line with the general feel of the party, and he did just that, making sure to ask us about anything that seemed weird. I'd absolutely recommend Ben to anyone looking to throw a great dance party!

Ben was great to work with. He was helpful in talking with us before our wedding (prompt, professional, etc.). He was open to all of our preferences, and he added suggestions of his own where appropriate. He also made a good recommendation to fade out a couple of our planned dance songs (first dance, father/daughter dance), since they were a bit long. But, most importantly, he did a great job mixing at the party. Ben had everyone from our group -- all ages -- dancing for hours.

My husband & I had a fantastic experience at our wedding with DJ Ben! He wasn't just a DJ, he totally set the perfect tone for the entire vibe of our wedding reception! He was super attentive to our musical tastes and the music flow that we wanted and we are so appreciative of that. He clearly communicated with us at key points right before the ceremony, right before cocktail hour & right before the 1st dances & reception night making sure we were all on the same page and it was great, we didn't have to worry about a thing, he's a professional obviously but he really went above & beyond your average DJ & made us feel comfortable and of course his taste in music, his timing & his mixing is SPOT ON. We had a little bit of everything, 80's dance pop, 90's hip-hop, dancehall reggae, Salsa & even Soca & he killed it with every genre. Our guests could not stop raving about the music and we could not get people off the dance floor at the end of the night! My wife and I cannot say enough of enough about Ben. He was outstanding plain and simple. Not only was he great with the music (clearly important for a DJ), but he was on top of his organizational game. He uses a great set of forms that helped us organize our thoughts and helped to communicate effectively with our wedding coordinator. Ben was on time and staid late, and really enjoys what he does. Ben Was the DJ for our wedding, and he was absolutely fantastic! Our music style can be quite quirky with an abundance of punk and eclectic songs, but Ben was able to take our music style and incorporate with music that is danceable to make all of our guests very happy. The party never had a dull moment, and time seemed to fly by, even our friends who normally don't dance got into the groove of the party. I can't compliment Ben enough for his amazing DJ skills and his attentiveness to us, if you choose him for a wedding, you will certainly not be disappointed!

James was a spectacular DJ for our wedding. We met with him in advance, went on with the details and made great suggestions. He is energetic and really knows his music! Understands any genre and can improvise with ease. He read the crowd very well and kept the party going all night. Highly recommend!!

If you're looking for a party, then you've found the right guy.

My wife and I were going to hire a band until we went to a buddies wedding where Ben was the DJ. The party went so far into the night, the restaurant basically had to kick us out. Needless to say, we knew Ben was the guy for our wedding then and there.

We were so impressed with Ben, we actually flew Ben down to Tulum, Mexico where we had our destination wedding. Ben literally played for 9 1/2 hours, and I kid you not when I say it was an endless party! From the intros to the father daughter dance, to the grandparents rocking it out on the dance floor, Ben was a consistent professional.

My wife and I are pretty easy going, and Ben just made it that much easier. We met with him twice before we left for Mexico, and then once more the night before the ceremony. Ben got a good since of who we were, as well as our musical 'likes' and 'dislikes'. The result... non-stop party!!

If you're looking for a DJ to play electric slide or other cheesy wedding songs, then Ben's probably not your guy. I'm sure he might play those songs if you REALLY REALLY wanted him too, but truly his strengths are being able to read a crowd and keep the energy of the night on fire.

While I hired Ben as my wedding DJ. He's now my go-to for any event where I'm looking to create an instant party!

My husband and I both agree that hiring Ben was the best decision we made while planning our wedding.

Both was originally scheduled to dj our wedding when we were booked at reBar in brooklyn (his services were included in our rate). When the owner of reBar closed shop suddenly and disappeared with everyone's money, we were sure that we would not be able to replan everything.

Ben reached out to all of the couples and offered to dj our weddings at an incredibly reasonable rate. We took him up on his offer (because we were so impressed that he did that and because honestly... It was all he could afford).

Turns out that he is also an amazing dj. Ben totally understood the vibe we were going for. I've recieved so many compliments on how amazing our music was. He honored all of our requests and was able to read the crowd to make sure that we always had a packed dance floor.

We've all been to those weddings... The ones with empty dance floors and terrible music. If my wedding is any indication, there is no way that would happen at a wedding that Ben djs. He is awesome! Can't recommend him enough.

Three Thumbs uP! Couldn't recommend DJ Ben more. He successfully created a fun, energetic and exciting environment for the day & evening of my wedding. If you want an atmosphere of laughter and party/dance event for all ages, then DJ Ben and his expertise is the right choice. Loved his ability to take critiques, suggestions and musical mixes and compliment them throughout the evening. Highlighted ability was his communication skills amongst the event staff; DJ Ben was my 1 contact throughout the evening and would come to me for questions, next steps and different ideas. Ben is exceptional for the following reasons:
-Ben not only served as our DJ but a Wedding Day planner as well, helping us arrange the timeline of our entire event. He's worked hundreds and hundreds of weddings of all shapes, sizes, styles, sentiments and knows exactly how to serve you at each request. He's not afraid to give his opinion based on his vast experience but at the same time defers to your choices without judgement and with complete respect. He knows how to give a wedding heart and party. Ben crafted a great set for our cocktail hour and reception based only a few suggestions and got me and my family dancing hard (something that I never thought was possible). He pulled back when he needed to and was appropriate to pull back, but never so much that it killed the mood. I would recommend him to anyone. Truly a professional DJ.

DJ Ben was absolutely fantastic! My wife and I got married back in July and we were lucky enough cross paths with DJ Ben. Although we booked him on such short notice, he was able to execute the reception of our dreams! The dance floor was full all night long and our guests are STILL talking about what an exciting reception it was! If you're looking for an experienced, easy-going, kick-ass DJ, then DJ Ben is your guy!

Although we were affected by the reBar fiasco, DJ Ben managed to pull through and be there at our new venue. In the short amount of time we had to re-do everything, DJ Ben was very responsive and helpful in our planning. At the ceremony, he did a wonderful job as both DJ and emcee. He was totally professional (while still being cool) throughout it all. Highly recommend!

From the second we met Ben to chat at a bar down by South Street Seaport we knew he was our guy for our Wedding Day!
Ben is incredibly chill, genuine, kind and owns his craft. He is also very easy to get in contact with. He got back to us right away and looked into our venue on his own taking his own initiative to find out what sound system and equipment he was working with.
Ben worked so well with the flow of our day. He really listens to your requests and loves finding what makes you tick. For example we mentioned that we loved Bon Iver and might want it in either cocktails or dinner and he found ways to incorporate the songs in a really beautiful way. Also I mentioned we love Prince's "Kiss" and he played it at a signature moment that became a huge highlight. He has a good sense of timing and is confident with his choices which just work.
During speeches he made sure to give people a nice heads-up when they would be speaking according to our timeline. We never had to tell him to get things ready; he was already on it and gracefully guided our guests through without making himself known. He is really good at knowing when it is necessary to speak and when he can simply just allow the events to happen seamlessly.
He was awesome at setting up the mood for announcing everyone in our wedding party and even helped us get lined up so that we knew where to go. He played song clips that we specifically wanted for our dance and made everything so easy. Ben was enthusiastic with our taste/choices and knew how to launch our party to the next level! We were blown away by Ben's ability to read the crowd and spin mixes that got EVERYONE dancing. Everything was just seamless and left the crowd wanting to keep partying!
Beyond being the skilled DJ he is, Ben is a born and raised Brooklyn guy with a wonderful energy and that really added to our experience. We would live that day all over again and thanks to Ben it was a spectacular time! ~ Ash & Justin

DJ Ben was amazing on our wedding day! We were one of the Rebar couples who lost our venue a few months before our wedding day. I don't want to dwell on that because I don't want to have to drink myself to sleep on a weeknight, so I'll simply say that DJ Ben was going to be our DJ at Rebar. When that fell through, we contacted him to see if he was still DJing. He responded really quickly and thoroughly and we fell into a groove (ZING!) of easy conversation. He gave us an incredibly reasonable rate, due to the Rebar circumstances, and we signed on.

As our wedding day approached, he asked for a phone call and we talked for over an hour about the timeline and what general mood and feel we were going for. On the day, he hit every note on the head! Our guests are still raving that our wedding was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding. That is, in large part, due to the awesome party jams DJ Ben rolled out and his super charismatic, chill persona with our guests. If you're getting married in the NY area, book DJ Ben! Right now! Seriously....have you booked him yet?

DJ Ben rocked the house on our wedding day--everybody from our 12-year-old nephew to 70-plus-year-old parents was out on the dance floor having a good time. And most especially, my husband and I were! Ben worked with us ahead of the big day to see what our musical tastes were like, and ensured that all of our musical requests were played, and mixed them up with plenty of his picks. He really understood how to read the crowd. He's pleasant, laid-back, and very competent. We would (and have already) recommended him to friends and family.

DJ Ben was the DJ at our wedding. He was originally scheduled to be our DJ as part of a package with the wedding venue. When the venue suddenly closed down two days before our wedding Ben decided to still volunteer for our wedding and be our DJ.

I cannot say enough good things about Ben. He scouted the venue the day before the event (on his own; he didn't even ask if we wanted him to scout the venue), and also took charge of some of the MC-ing at the event, like introducing the party, introducing the dances, etc...

Ben was extremely thorough and meticulous. When discussing what kind of music we wanted, he gave us great suggestions for certain things where we had no clue, like the cake cutting song. He was also very good with timing, for example making sure that the song we chose for the procession was long enough so that the entire party would be able to walk in. Or the fact that one of the dance songs we chose was 7 minutes long, and therefore when to fade it, etc...

He worked perfectly well with the coordinator, and his great attention for details really made a difference. DJ Ben was more than just our DJ: he acted as a real facilitator, and was instrumental in making sure that everything during the event ran smoothly. There are a lot of things that you plan and discuss ahead but I can assure you that the day of the event you will forget, like what song to play when, when it's a good time to give your speech, when you should cut the cake, etc...

Finally, I particularly appreciated that DJ Ben did his DJing with turntables and vinyls rather than just a computer. Not a small detail.

Ben is a great dance DJ, but he also put together awesome playlists for our dinner and cocktail hour. Good vibes without drawing too much attention away from conversation. Again, the dance music was a great mix of new and old, drawing in the older folks as much as the younger ones.

My bride and I had the pleasure of having Ben's services for our wedding in May. From the beginning of our planning to the very last song of our wedding, it was a joy working with Ben. He was very easy to work with, responded quickly to calls and e-mails and was a true professional throughout the process. My wife and I both had specific little surprises for the reception which we needed Ben's assistance with and he was extremely accommodating and made everything we wanted go off without a hitch. We also had a very specific and long list of music we wanted for the wedding, which Ben helped us with, adding his own ideas and thoughts, and created a beautiful, moving, touching and most of all fun wedding for us. Whatever "type" of ceremony and reception you are looking for there is no doubt Ben will get the job done right.

DJ Ben is awesome! Had him booked for my wedding on 8/30/14. He played everything I asked, and was a real "go with the flow" guy... whenever he wanted to change it up, he would come to me and ask first.
He had everyone going on the dance floor. The dancing did not stop and went on all night. Everyone loved what he was playing.
I couldn't have ask for a better DJ. Thank you, Ben!

We contacted Ben less than a month before our wedding and were so impressed by how accommodating and responsive he was. He was very thorough in determining our needs and matched us with one of his talented DJs, Cornell Washington, who kept all of our wedding guests - young and old - dancing until the very end. Cornell read the crowd expertly and made sure that everyone was having a great time. Music is very important to me and my husband, and, thankfully, many of of our favorite moments - and favorite pictures - took place on the dance floor. So many people told us that our wedding was the best party they had been to in years - due, in large part, to Cornell's talent, enthusiasm, and passion. We would absolutely recommend Ben and his team and would be thrilled to work with them again.

DJ Ben was absolutely fantastic. In the weeks leading up to our wedding he spoke to us on the phone many times and talked with us about all of our music choices from pre-ceremony to the cake cutting. He gave us some great suggestions in terms of our ceremony music and was super enthusiastic and encouraging during the whole process. He truly went above and beyond.
Most importantly, on our wedding day, the dance floor was full, everyone was having an incredible time and the evening flowed seamlessly - all thanks to DJ Ben. He did an amazing job and is such a nice guy - an absolute pleasure to work with.
I would recommend him (and have!) in a heartbeat. You won't be disappointed.

Ben DJ’d our wedding last month and he was absolutely perfect!! Very, very simply we could not possibly recommend him more. The dance floor was hopping for the entire evening. In the month since our wedding virtually everybody we have seen or spoken to since who was there have complimented him. It wasn’t just that Ben played good music that made lots of people want to dance across the evening; the important difference that Ben made was his attention to everyone’s needs. It wasn’t just a really, really good party, it was our party . . and he made it work beyond our expectations.

Ben met with us before the wedding and listened and really paid attention to our needs for the wedding. We gave him lists of requests and we explained the types of people would be there and the types of music we had in mind for different parts of the evening to accommodate all their needs. Ben took it all in and asked us a lot of incisive questions to make sure that he really understood our needs. Ben came highly recommended and had by this point made us very comfortable so that when he asked us if we wanted him to read the mood of the room and and make musical calls based on the energy and flow of the room we we totally comfortable to say yes . . . And we are very, very happy that we did say yes. Also after listening to us and making sure that he understood what we were aiming for Ben had suggestions for how we could structure the party differently from our original ideas and again we are very glad that we took on Ben’s suggestions.

Working with Ben as a partner to plan the evening rather than just asking him to play a request list was one of the best calls we made in planning our wedding. There were specific songs that we thought we wanted to hear at our wedding that may not have gotten played in the end but Ben’s judgement was perfect and he gave us a party that hummed and buzzed with just the energy we were looking for.

Ben had our entire wedding dancing and partying from the beginning of the cocktail hour to the last song! He was responsive to emails and calls, listened carefully to identify my husband's and my taste in music, and read the crowd perfectly. He even found a karaoke track to back up my sister for when she sang our first song. He really personalized the music and the dance floor literally expanded into the bar! I would recommend his services without reservation.

Ben was so accommodating to all requests and played everything we had put on the song lists as well as incorporating other songs that fit right in with the mood of our guests. All guests danced throughout the night and Ben really kept a good flow. I highly recommend him!

Ben Was awesome! After ReBar (boooo) left us high and dry, Ben reached out to us and hooked it up with a great deal. So Right away I was all, "are we going to get what we pay for?" But then I was like "NOPE!" this dude was the main DJ at ReBar (boooo)!

Well he was easy to deal with, met up at Starbucks for a quick chat and 2 quick phone calls followups later he had everything he needed.

Ben played everything we asked and kept the feel to what we asked. Everyone at the wedding was on the dance floor, I even think i saw my Wives grand father getting down and that man can hardly walk. All jokes aside he was really great and kept the party going for the whole time.

So why did i give him a 4.5 on Quality you ask? Well for one i don't think any wedding will go 100% as planned and he was so good at keeping the party going that he may have not let people know about last call. No big deal but really I am a bitter man that will never give anyone 100% and will make an bad father who will push his kids because they will never meet my level of expectations.

Ben is the man if you want a great party and an easy low stress method to get at it. Just tell him what you want and he will make it happen.

We went with Beyonder Events for our wedding reception and we couldn't have been happier. We found Ben by doing a google search, met with him and Natasha, the DJ who performed at our reception, early in our wedding planning and were thrilled from start to finish. Ben is professional and easy to get in touch with, and we cannot say more wonderful things about Natasha Diggs. She's an awesome presence as a DJ, did a great job with the announcements we needed her to make and has great taste in music. We couldn't have picked a better DJ company and we thank Ben for choosing the best DJ for our reception. We would definitely recommend Beyonder Events to anyone.

DJ Ben was fantastic!!! Coming from a different cultural backgrounds we came up with the crazy list of songs from new hits to the old and from salsa to rock n roll. He did not has a problem with our unusual list of songs and the one thing for sure we did not have to worry is the music part. We wanted a dance party and it was a dance party with a Bang. Everyone had a blast and some even suffered from restless legs the next day :))))) I will recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great DJ. Look no further. Hire Ben if you want your dance floor packed all night

Ben could not have been a more fabulous dj and person to work with. He listened to what we wanted and made it happen flawlessly.
Our biggest priority was making our wedding fun and since we love to dance, Ben played a really big role is the success of our reception. My husband and I gave him a ton of freedom as far as music selection and he nailed it. Almost every guest at the wedding got on the dance floor and there were never any moments where the party slowed down at all. It was constant fun and consistently great music that everyone enjoyed. We got tons of compliments all night on his skills.
Communication during the wedding planning process was great and all of our questions were answered in advance. Ben walks you through everything you need to know and handles everything effortlessly so you don't have to worry or stress. He was perfect on the mic for introductions and kept the flow of our dinner, speeches, and dancing on track.
But the best thing Ben provides, is an amazing mix of music that suits your needs. The memories of dancing with my friends and family at my wedding will always be near to my heart and that is priceless! Thank you, Ben!
