In short, going with La Vida Creations was the best decision we made for our wedding. Everything else - the food, the music, the venue - is temporary. The pictures La Vida took of our special day are timeless and we are going to cherish them forever. There are truly not enough good things to say about Betsy and her photography. Betsy also photographed my husband's brother's wedding, so we got to interact with her quite a bit throughout our engagement and wedding. She immediately made us feel so comfortable, and the engagement shoot session got us used to being in front of their cameras. They have experience working with pets, also, so we were so happy to get to include our dogs in the photos, too!

While wedding planning can be stressful, I always trusted that Betsy would be amazing and make the day so easy--and of course I was right! She and Jeff stayed in constant communication with us leading up to the big day, helping us put together a list of our "must have" shots and even a wedding day timeline. The day of, they were punctual and so sweet, and their calming energy definitely kept everyone else mellow and organized.

After the wedding, we were so antsy for the blog post to go live, and couldn't have been more amazed when it did! Betsy not only captured the major moments of our wedding day, but (more importantly) captured the feelings we had while celebrating. So many of the shots during the ceremony are of the wedding party and guests laughing hysterically, while others show the total connection and relief I had once my husband and I were together and could take a breath. They made sure to grab us for some special shots, but also did an awesome job letting us enjoy the day, and documenting those interactions as well. We so appreciate that they made our priorities their own, and provided the professional guidance we needed in order to document the day perfectly.

As I said, not enough words in the world to describe how great these people are. We will absolutely keep in touch and use La Vida in the future!

When looking for our wedding photographers, we didn't know where to start. Our wedding planner gave us a list of her top recommendations, and asked us to pay close attention to each photographer's style. We ended up loving La Vida Creations' portfolio, and loved them even more after meeting them in person! This husband and wife team works together flawlessly to get the most amazing shots from different perspectives. We didn't want those typical wedding shots that sometimes go more cheesy than cute; that is not Jeff & Betsy's style. They are great at getting candid shots, so much so that most of the people attending our wedding didn't even realize we had photographers there! We also did an engagement shoot with La Vida, something they highly recommended to get comfortable with taking professional, posed photos. It was during that shoot that we really got to know Jeff and Betsy, so that on our wedding day it was like having old friends around rather than vendors who you barely know. We have received so many compliments on both our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos, they are so beautiful! La Vida Creations does the most amazing work; we were so glad to have worked with them to capture the happiest day of our lives.

Just got our wedding album and...wow! It's so nice. Perfectly captured our day. We have great photos of the ceremony, both families, and of us with the kids. The album flows, the photo quality is excellent, the materials used are top-notch, it's just great. Jeff and Betsy were both there, taking photos in tandem, obviously each with a different objective, as they had different angles, lenses, etc. This resulted in a broad range of photos, close-ups, farther afield, and so on. We are extremely satisfied with our photos and with the service La Vida provided. They were very easy and professional to work with. Highly recommended.

Jeff and Betsy of La Vida Creations did a fantastic job with our outdoor small wedding, including a last minute relocation from beach to Balboa Park due to rain. During the ceremony they were invisible, but now we have many wonderful shots of us, and our families. After, we had the group photos and family photos, then done just before the heavy rain. Our wedding album is on super heavy paper, the images crisp and well laid out, All in all, we couldn't be happier, and recommend La Vida Creations Photography to all.

Jeff and Betsy are hands-down amazing! We were about to contract with another photographer, when we stumbled upon La Vida at the last minute and I had to have them if we could. They were able to squeeze us into their schedule. With just a couple months out before the wedding they were even able to include an engagement session for us. These two are so genuine and made both of us nerds feel so comfortable and relaxed. We couldn’t have gotten more beautiful photos. On the wedding day I was so sick, but they were so accommodating and comforting that it really took the edge off. We had to change venues day-of too, and they rocked it. Gorgeous pictures. They’ve got amazing gear, and are prepared for anything. Betsy even hooked my mom up with some industrial tape to put together the pearl necklace that broke as she was trying to put it around my neck. Serious professionals and worth every penny! Couldn’t have gotten any luckier with these two! We’re going to treasure these pictures forever.

Amazing! Words cannot express the emotion we felt when we saw the images Betsy and Jeff captured during our intimate elopement. Jeff and Betsy are TRULY professionals - fun and talented ones, to boot! We booked them as our wedding photographers back about a year and a half ago and have never regretted it for a single second. We first bonded over our love of the chow/lab mix as we both have fur babies of that variety ourselves, and instantly felt at ease and comfortable with them. This continued throughout their work with us. Their photography is truly the most beautiful - it captures true moments, not STAGED feeling, and reflect your most intimate, candid moments you want to remember. All we can say is WOW! La Vida Creations Photography blew our mind from day one. We have never felt so at ease with a photographer as we did with Betsy and Jeff. They made it a point, from the first time we met, to be courteous, respectful, and excited about our wedding. We NEVER felt like we were “just another client”. They consistently made us feel as if we were their only clients (which we weren’t) but it really gave us the sense that they were invested in us as a couple, and clients second. Their service and product speaks for itself. They were adamant that they wanted to really capture us, and they did that by getting to know us and understand us. They captured the moments of our wedding beautifully. Their attention to detail is impeccable. They also interacted with our families and were nothing short of perfect. We have been beyond impressed with their work ethic and we are still hearing about how “fun” the photographers were from our guests. We will forever be grateful for them and their talent. Needless to say, they are now our family photographers, as well as THE photographers that we will use for any other event. They blew away our expectations and we cannot EVER see ourselves having photography done anywhere else.

Betsy and Jeff of La Vida Creations Photography are extremely skilled and professional. We do not like having our photos taken, but we wanted to capture the natural joy of the occasion. They captured us in a very natural way and made us feel very comfortable. It was actually fun to be photographed by them. We are so lucky we chose La Vida Creations to tell our wedding story in photographs! In planning our small three-guest elopement to Coronado Beach from Indiana, we hesitated about hiring a professional photographer. Posing for photographs is so not us, and we also feared a photographer and a clicking camera would intrude on the intimate ceremony we wanted. But we could not have made a better choice than to ask Betsy and Jeff to memorialize our wedding day with their amazing work. Once they placed footprints in the sand for us and our officiant (the remarkable Bethel Nathan of Ceremonies by Bethel), they knew instinctively how to be inconspicuous during our very private ceremony and yet capture candid, natural images we'll always treasure. And then during our after-the-ceremony photos as the sun set, we quickly learned we would have loved to get to know them better. Betsy and Jeff have such a great bond and are so easy to connect with they just plain forced us to leave our camera-shy natures behind and have great fun with them on the beach. As a result, WOW, what beautiful and meaningful photos we received (not to mention a heart-stirring blog on the La Vida website that left us all teary-eyed back here in cold and snowy Indiana). Betsy and Jeff see themselves as storytellers, and with good reason. Because no words can ever adequately express the significance and emotions of our wedding, we are so fortunate to have our La Vida Creations images - images that truly do capture the moments and joy of that day more meaningfully than we could have ever anticipated. We loved working with Betsy and Jeff of La Vida Creations. We knew they were the right photographers for us from the first phone call. They asked a lot of questions about us as a couple and our family and the kind of ceremony we wanted. The photographs on their website make it clear that they are technically talented photographers capable of creating serious glamour when that’s what a couple wants. But we didn’t want that. And they were actually happy when we told them we were a same sex couple well past the age of the average blushing brides and had curves and wrinkles and grit (that we had earned honestly and wanted in the photos!). We also knew we wanted an intimate beach wedding, and they coordinated with our wonderful wedding officiant (Ceremonies by Bethel) and videographer (Murasaki Media) to select the perfect La Jolla Shores“secret wedding place” as well as the ceremony start time to ensure perfect lighting. We highly recommend La Vida Creations.

Thank you! Thank you for being our friend, photographer and story teller. From the beginning you guys took such a personal approach to working with us. It started with a meeting at your home to decide if we were the right fit for each other. After bonding over Germany and dogs there was no denying that we were the right fit for each other.

Betsy and Jeff, you are true professionals. You gave us confidence along the way and we knew we had nothing to worry about. During our engagement shoot a few months before the wedding we were both extremely nervous about hours of pictures. You made us comfortable and confident to be ourselves, love each other and share that with you.

On our wedding day you were a joy to see. You both have become such a huge part of our lives that it became important for us to share our day with each of you. Your advice on how to stay present, enjoy the day and appreciate all of those around you was irreplaceable. You gave us moments to sneak away as newlyweds to be reminded of why we were celebrating.

As we look back on that day we couldn’t have imagined being with any other photographers. You both have an amazing skill for telling a couples story through photos. You know you are working with awesome photographers when you look at their pictures and feel the emotion you did in that moment. I met Jeff and Betsy through their furry four legged kiddo, Mace Windu. Such amazing people! They are so creative and talented at the same time professional and sensitive. I will forever be thankful that I contacted them for our wedding.
Even though our ceremony was small the amazing pictures and moments captured were huge! The pictures that came from our wedding continue to amaze us everytime we see them.

When we found Jeff & Betsy's website we thought immediately that they might be the right photographers for us - little did we know just how perfect they would turn out to be! After our first phone call my husband and I were so excited based on the connection we felt we had we just knew we were in for a great experience ahead.

Not only are they incredibly talented - which you can see from the consistency of amazing shots on their blog - but they are also so genuine and professional. You always feel well taken care of and looked after with them. They really took the time to get to know me and my husband and what mattered most to us. We were even lucky enough to have them come to NYC for our engagement session so they could see our east coast life and west coast life. The pictures from both our wedding and engagement were more than I ever could have imagined - they capture all the moments: passionate, tender, exciting, silly - every piece. I remember in our first conversation Jeff said, "we want to get to know you well enough that on the day of your wedding I know the exact moment he's going to wink at you and you're going to laugh." and he was right. They catch it all and really grab the essence of the event in such a beautiful, artistic, and honest way.

It was very important to me that the pictures from our wedding not feel staged or doctored in any way - I just wanted an honest portrayal of our story and we got that at so much more. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for not just a phenomenal photographer but a phenomenal experience overall. Simply love, love, love them.

After being in weddings where the photographers were late or caused much stress to the entire day, it was incredibly important to us that we find photographers with fun personalities and professionalism that would help our day go smoothly and help us have fun too! All you have to do is browse Betsy and Jeff's blog to see how talented they are. If you need more convincing, take my recommendation that you will LOVE them!

We found the lovely La Vida duo because they shot our friend's wedding and we adored their photographs. I stalked their blog and looked at all the amazing pictures and beautiful people and thought, "We could never look like that!" Well guess what...they made us look like that! In addition to being so talented, they are an absolutely delightful couple. You will want to hang out with them even after they put the cameras down.

The entire process was incredibly smooth. They are organized, helpful, and have great suggestions to make everything as easy as possible. We didn't really want to do engagement photos but they are part of the package for a good reason. It really helped us be comfortable in front of the camera and get a good idea of how they work. When they showed up on the wedding day, we were all ready to go instead of taking the time to get to know each other and understand what we needed to do.

Unlike most of our other wedding vendors, they were super nice and responsive even AFTER the event and AFTER they had been paid. They care about their clients and it shows. You will not be disappointed with Betsy and Jeff!

Jeff and Betsy are incredibly talented photographers!! Their images are not only stunningly beautiful, but also manage to truly showcase the genuine moments and people they are capturing. They took the time to truly get to know us as a couple, and it really shows in the way that they perfectly captured our relationship and our personalities in both our engagement session and our wedding pictures.

For our engagement session, they picked a gorgeous location, and crafted a shoot that incorporated lots of fun details from our courtship to make our pictures unique. We felt camera shy for the first part of our engagement session, but Jeff and Betsy managed to "coach" us in just the right way to get us to relax and begin to feel comfortable in front of the camera.

On our wedding day, they were unobtrusive, but still managed to capture everything! They were easygoing to have around, which helped to calm our nerves throughout the day. They took a good mixture of posed pics and fun candid pictures of us, and our friends and family.

Jeff and Betsy are also very professional, and easy to work with. They always promptly responded to e-mails, and kept in touch with updates on when we could expect our pictures. And as the icing on the cake, they got all of our wedding pictures edited, uploaded and ready to view super quickly!

Jeff and Betsy are great at what they do, and obviously love doing it, which really shows in their images. We could not be more thrilled with our wedding pictures, and will be forever thankful to them for capturing the feeling of our day so perfectly!

My fiancé and I decided to have a small family wedding. We hired Betsy and Jeff as our photographers for our wedding at Ocean View Villas on in March 2010, and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Betsy and Jeff were a pleasure to work with. Right from the start, they worked with us to come up with a package that fit within our budget and also fit us into their busy schedule to take our engagement photos during our short time on a visit to San Diego. Of course, those photos turned out fantastic. As a husband and wife team, they are able to take photos from two different vantage points at all times, capturing unique images and special moments that may have otherwise been missed. Betsy and Jeff also take the time to personally get to know all of their couples, which helps them to capture their personalities in the photos.

On the day of our wedding, Betsy and Jeff showed up early to not only take pictures of us getting ready, but also to scope out locations for photos with family and other photos before the wedding. They came fully prepared and worked hard throughout the entire wedding, documenting all of the important moments, family, and friends. Our wedding photos were amazing! About a week after the wedding, Betsy and Jeff posted some of our photos to their blog so that we could share them with family and friends before all of the wedding photos were ready.

We loved working with Betsy and Jeff. We would happily recommend them to anyone getting married in San Diego or elsewhere, and in fact have already recommended them to several of our friends. They were true professionals, were always quick to respond when we had questions, and most importantly, they take incredible photos that truly captured our special day.
