Mel and Katie are the most detail oriented, thoughtful, INCREDIBLE, team. I can not even put into words what they did for us, but nothing would have happened without them. We had a wedding across country in Yosemite. Neither my husband or I had any clue what we wanted, and are very laid back. They really held our hand with education, narrowing down choices, they even MADE US. PINTEREST to help our creative juices flowing. They knew we missed our pups and surprised us with framed photos of them at our wedding. 😭 I was indifferent about flowers so they picked up and MADE the most amazing bouquet. We had only one thing we wanted, mini beef wellingtons, they made it happen. They though of every detail and so much more than I could possibly list. I could not possibly recommend them more. Mel & Katie were literally a dream come true. I am extremely type A and could have been okay planning the wedding without a wedding planner/coordinator; BUT I didn't want to. My fiancé (at the time) and I didn't want me to spend so much time stressing and overcomplicating things so even though I hated the idea of paying for something I "could" do, we paid for the piece of mind and it was the BEST money spent. I NEVER had any doubt or worry. I probably was the calmest bride anyone has seen because I just had full 100% confidence in Mel & Katie. I knew that whatever may come our way, they would make sure the wedding went off without a hitch. Of course we can't control everything such as what the guests will be like or what the weather choses to do but no matter what, Mel & Katie were prepared and ready. For example, our wedding was in September and we fully planned on it being triple digit weather. We had misters ready and planned for plenty of water and had a plan b to do things in the barrel room where it was cooler if needed. 7 days before the wedding we found out that there was a strong possibility of rain on our wedding day. Mel worked with our vendor to come up with plans B & C. I was never worried. Another example is that we can't prepare for how our guests will act but Mel and Katie met with us and had us go over any family members/friends/guests that may potentially cause a scene or issue and anyone they should be aware of. Mel & Katie thought of everything so that on the wedding day it would be smooth and the bride and groom AND parents don't have to worry. Mel put me at ease. She was also always available. Like I said, I am so type A which comes with me asking a lot of questions. Mel never made me feel crazy. She answered my questions with patience and compassion and grace. Mel & Katie were always prepared and met in person with us at the venue a few times before the wedding. I truly had zero doubts that the wedding would go off well. They were extremely organized and helped us check off all the boxes. We didn't necessarily need this, but they also have a lot of great contacts and referrals to use for other vendors if needed. Brian and I (and our parents) really enjoyed working with Mel & Katie and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!! Just because you "can" take care of everything doesn't mean you should. Let someone else help! Prioritize what is important to you. For us, it was SO worth it to pay for the peace of mind in knowing our wedding day would not be stressful. Mel & Katie's business is called Best Day Ever and truly, our day was THE BEST DAY EVER. It was better than I could ever imagined. We are still on Cloud 9 and we are SO incredibly grateful for Mel & Katie.Best Day Ever's reply:

I will begin this review by saying Mel and Katie are the absolute best coordinators and I am so very thankful for them! Words cannot express just how thankful we are and there is no way our wedding in May 2023 would be as successful as it was without them. They where very professional, organized, kind, funny, and so dedicated to their job. You can tell they love what they do and their work shows it! They checked on me throughout the planning process and offered their support. They always responded to me immediately. They created the most perfect timeline and completed a very detailed dossier to coordinate all the vendors. I had absolute faith in their work. So much so that the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about anything cause I knew they would handle whatever came up! They were so organized with their process and prep work, that it made the week of and day of a breeze. I could just go on and on about how amazing they are. I highly recommending hiring Mel and Katie for any party or wedding, you won't regret it!Best Day Ever's reply:

Niece's wedding at our house and seeing all the work from the behind the scenes perspective. These 2 women blew us away they were FANTASTIC!!

I am giving this review not as the person who paid for the wedding but as the person who's house it was held. My sister and niece hired Mel and Katie as the Day of planners for my niece's wedding held at our home in Morada. These women were absolutely fantastic! They had 2 meetings at the house prior to the wedding, took lots of notes and made suggestions. Mel was there for the rehearsal helped us all get through that seamlessly and then both Mel and Katie showed up 9am sharp Saturday morning!!! They saw what Daphne and Debbie had planned and made it all happen!! They set all the tables with center pieces. Then decorated the cocktail area, ceremony, dessert, welcome area and did it beautifully. Every detail was covered! During the wedding they were invisible to the guest but all over the place helping to keep things moving so the important parts of the reception were covered and the kids could enjoy the whole thing. What I thought was so important, as someone looking in was how relaxed and happy my sister looked throughout the whole day. She actually got to enjoy every minute knowing Mel and Katie were there to take care of things ...and they DID!!! And as the home owner where the wedding was held I totally appreciated how they made sure things were kept tidy, rentals were gathered (but in a way that it didn't take away from the party) and even the garbage was collected. I can't say enough how wonderful they are and I know my sister has said she wouldn't have done anything differently!!!Best Day Ever's reply:

My husband and I used Best Day Ever (the amazing Mel and Katie) as wedding planners and coordinators for our May 2022 wedding at a private family vineyard in Placerville, CA that isn't used to host events. From the first time we met with Mel and Katie we found them to be prepared, knowledgeable, and a joy to work with.
When we started working with them 6 months before the big day we knew that we we had made the right choice. We already had a venue, photographer, and style selected, and Mel and Katie guided us through the selection of our other vendors as well as other items we needed to consider. They provided us with short lists of recommended vendors and reviewed all of the contracts before we signed them. As we approached the wedding they coordinated with out photographer, videographer, DJ, and officiant to make sure that the day went smoothly. They also made beautiful day of timelines and maps for us! Mel also designed signs for our big day and they came out beautifully.
When the big day came Mel and Katie kept everything running smoothly and on time. My husband and I did not need to worry about a single thing because of their hard work. They managed all day of requests from the vendors, made sure that we had everything we needed, and helped cleanup throughout the day and at the end of the night.
I could not more highly recommend them! If you are getting married (especially in the foothills) they will make your wedding a dream come true. -

My husband and I worked with Mel and Katie from Best Day Ever for our April 2022 wedding in Plymouth, CA. When we first started wedding planning, we only had a vision of what we wanted, but didn’t know how to make everything come together. So, we soon reached out to Mel and Katie and we received a response the same day! They were everything we expected and more - kind, passionate, knowledgeable, organized, and extremely hardworking. They were with us every step of the way and we couldn’t imagine what our wedding day would have looked like without them. We are so happy to have had the privilege and honor to work with Mel and Katie and we know that without them, our wedding would not have been as special as it was. Katie and Mel went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect! They worked so incredibly hard to make sure they understood what we wanted and that we were on time with all the events. The wedding was an absolute blast and it would not have been the same without their help. Mel and Katie are so sweet and kind and non-judgmental even with all my crazy ideas and tons of decorations. These ladies are truly a dynamic duo! I was a quadragenarian bride, who have waited my entire life to have this very wedding! So, one can say I had a very specific idea of how this day was gonna go. We hired this team as our Wedding Planners, as well for decorating and postage and signage. I am extremely type A and may have sent them 100’s of pictures of ideas I loved and hated; with a real clear view!
The day of the event went better than expected! They blew me away! Every detail, every timeline, and every vendor/guest were on point! They were the perfect balance I needed to have a stress-free wedding day!!! Thank you Mel & Katie!!! -

Mel and Katie were absolutely amazing. I reached out to them less than 2 weeks before our wedding day (I'm not a great planner) to help with day-of coordination. We had a wedding of ~20 people in a park in Sacramento.
I brought my messy ideas to our first meeting and they helped me crystalize a vision, added great ideas, and made me feel instantly at ease. I knew I'd be able to trust them which was a huge weight lifted on an already intense day!
Day of, they organized and handled EVERYTHING. They coordinated with all of our other vendors/partners so I didn't have to worry about anything. They set up and broke down our entire park venue, moved all the decorations from the park to a restaurant in mid-town all without a hitch. When I walked into the restaurant and saw how they set everything up in our dining room, I wanted to cry it was so beautiful.
Mel and Katie's calm energy and efficiency set me up for success on the big day and I was able to focus on what really mattered that day.
We're getting ready to plan our reception and hope they have the bandwidth for us!!

We really had the best day ever
We booked best day ever as our month out/day of coordinator. From the first interview with Mel, I knew I liked her! She was thinking of details that hadn’t even crossed my mind yet. Even prior to the month of she was able to provide vendor recommendations when I was at a loss, as I do not live in the area where the wedding was. Going into the big day, I felt organized and happy with the timeline of the day that Mel and Katie provided. They provided an incredible dossier including a schedule and all the vendor info. The day of the wedding was truly perfect. We had the most fun time, and it went off without a hitch, largely thanks to Best Day Ever.Best Day Ever's reply:

We had a complicated wedding, because it was out in a field and EVERYTHING needed to be brought in (not a venue that provided anything). They have a 30-day-takeover package which was really helpful that we went for. Mel and Katie navigated it all with ease and made a wonderful map of the field layout and timeline. They have an absolute arsenal of wonderful wedding decor, place settings, games, etc that we were able to use as well which made things SUPER easy for us. They schlepped a bunch of stuff in their big truck (absolutely clutch) and they brought everything together BEAUTFILLY even in the rain and mud! My only concern was that they ran late a couple times when we were meant to meet, which made our time a little short, but in the end it wasn't a big deal. Everything was wonderful and I would absolutely recommend this mother-daughter power team! -
