Hiring Ben Lyons was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He is a truly talented musician, a professional DJ, and simply a wonderful person to work with.
During our search, the cost savings and convenience of hiring one person to handle both our ceremony/cocktail music and the reception DJ services were a huge factor. Ben delivered on this promise flawlessly. The transition from his beautiful, live solo acoustic set during the ceremony and cocktail hour to the high-energy DJ reception was executed perfectly and felt completely seamless. It was the perfect "one-stop-shop" package.
From the start, communication with Ben was outstanding—he was easy to reach and responded quickly to all our inquiries. We particularly appreciated his meticulous planning process. He provides a detailed form that guides you through every aspect of your wedding day preferences, and his extensive song lists allow you to specify exactly which songs you want or, just as importantly, which ones you don't want him to play. This level of organization made us feel completely confident in his hands. As a full-time musician, his professionalism and organization shine through.
His ability to adapt on the fly was truly remarkable. When the father of the groom decided to give a spontaneous speech, I quickly mouthed the cue to Ben from across the room. He seamlessly announced the speaker, making the unplanned moment feel organized and intentional, rather than a disruption.
Ben was overall just great to work with and a very kind human. He is organized, responsive, talented, and flexible—even able to adapt on the fly when needed. We wholeheartedly recommend Ben Lyons to any couple looking for a polished, talented, and affordable music solution for their entire wedding day. -

Ben Lyons Music was absolutely incredible at our wedding. They played for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and every moment was perfect. The music was amazing and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Our guests are still talking about how great they were. We couldn’t have asked for better!

We hired Ben for our June wedding, and he exceeded every expectation!
He is incredibly multi-talented. He played acoustic guitar for our ceremony with gorgeous renditions of our chosen songs, played guitar and sang during cocktail hour, creating a beautiful live soundtrack while guests mingled, and then seamlessly switched to DJing for the reception. Even with our small, laid-back wedding, he had the dance floor packed!
Ben was responsive, proactive, and great to work with throughout the planning process. He collaborated closely with us and our planner, fine-tuned the schedule and song list, and helped guide the flow of the day.
Guests raved about him both during and long after the wedding. Ben and his wife, who assisted on the day, are incredibly kind and were an absolute joy to have with us. We feel so lucky to have worked with them and would wholeheartedly recommend Ben to anyone looking for a musician or DJ for their wedding or event. -

Ben was awesome to work with and we would definitely hire him again! He performed live music during our cocktail hour (very talented musician and performer!) and DJ services during our wedding. He was pleasant, professional and very communicative. He is also self-sufficient and was able to communicate specific venue-related questions that we didn't know with the venue owner, without needing to involve us. He spent time the week of the wedding going over the timeline and flow of the event in detail, and was great at managing the timeline of the music, speeches, dancing during the event. -

Ben was so great to work with throughout the entire wedding process - he is responsive, thoughtful, kind, and added a fantastic ambiance to our rehearsal dinner and welcome party. Ben was so great to work with! He was responsive, thorough, and very helpful during the planning process. Ben did it all for the day of our wedding: he played acoustically for our ceremony, switched to acoustic with vocals for cocktail hour, then transformed to a DJ for the reception. He supplied us with the microphone for the ceremony, all the equipment to set up at multiple locations, and the dance floor lighting. Ben was timely to arrive and set up and spent all night with us, making all of our announcements and reading the crowd perfectly to keep the party going! The dance floor wasn't empty once during the whole night - Ben knew how to keep everyone dancing!
