Worth the money!

Don't hesitate, just book! Erin does amazing work. My wedding planner recommended her to us, so I checked out her website and Wedding Wire page and loved her work. But beauty is only skin deep. I've had experiences of eating a pretty cake and it bring terrible. Erin's cakes are the opposite of that! Not only are her cakes visually stunning but they taste amazing! Our cake was fresh, moist, and full of flavor. She came up with a fabulous design for our cake I would have never thought of, and it was more beautiful than I imagined. Highly recommend! Don't be afraid of the cost, you definitely get what you pay for so you won't regret it. My only regret is not ordering an anniversary cake on our one year.

Delicious wedding cake and dessert!

Paige helped us choose our wedding cake and we enjoyed our tasting immensely! So many different flavors to choose from! It was relatively simple and easy to figure it all out in one visit. Paige also did our truffles for our dessert table. Everything was delicious and tasty! All our guests loved our wedding cake and cute dessert table. 10/10!

Wow Just Incredible

What can we say about Bella e Dolce but WOW. The cake and the desert table was beautiful. The ability to design and make a cake so close to what our daughter had pictured was incredible. All the small deserts each more delicious than the next. All our guest were in ahh over the cake and the deserts. Special thank you for helping out daughter to have the wedding of her dreams.

Beautiful and Delicious Cake and Desserts!

We loved our entire experience with Bella e Dolce. In particular, it was super convenient for us living in SE Michigan to do our tasting at their SE Michigan location, which they then passed off to their Northern Michigan location to deliver to our wedding. What a delicious and BEAUTIFUL cake and spread of desserts. They executed perfectly on everything we requested and everything tasting amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have a seamless and professional experience!

Absolutely perfect!

We had such a great experience with Bella e Dolce, from start to finish. We first met Paige at a wedding show on Mackinac Island, and fell in love with her cakes. Then we attended a tasting at her home, and had so much fun designing our wedding cake- from the cake, to the filling, to the decorations, and even the cake stand! When our wedding day finally came, the cake arrived exactly as expected. It was beautiful, absolutely delicious, and we got a TON of compliments on it. We highly recommend Bella e Dolce for anyone needing a cake for any special occasion. You won't regret it!

First, I want to thank Kim and Paige for making my wedding cake dreams come true! The cake they created really was a work of art. Not only did it look amazing, everyone commented on how it was the best cake they have ever had! I found Bella e Dolce when I attended a wedding show on Mackinac Island. The cakes they had on display were like nothing I had ever seen (we're talking the stuff you see in wedding magazines) and when we tasted the samples, I was sold! Since I lived in Lansing and was planning a Mackinac Island wedding, most of the communication was through e-mail. However, we did get a chance to attend a tasting and it was a wonderful experience. We were able to sit down and really discuss designs, flavors, etc. When your husband can't stop talking about the salted caramel buttercream frosting, you know you’ve made the right choice! He even wants to get another small cake for our anniversary! If you have a chance to work with Bella e Dolce, take it!!!

We were so thrilled to find Bella e Dolce in Northern Michigan while planning our wedding for October this year at Castle Farms in Charlevoix! After being drawn in by their incredible flavor options, and photos of their work, we were definitely interested in using them for our wedding cake bakers. Owner Kim sent email updates to interested clients throughout the winter and spring so we could easily set up a tasting on-site. We were in love the second we stepped into Kim's at home bake shop in Cheboygan, it was stocked with tier upon tier of cake varieties and endless bowls of frostings and fillings. Through our tasting we were able to mix and match options and decided on 4 smaller cakes for our wedding. Her cakes are incredibly rich, flavorfull, and decadent. We were so impressed that she used a mix of her garden harvested herbs & honey from her husband's beekeeping hobby for her honey lavendar cake. Her style books make it easy to select the way you want your cake/s to look and her pricing package is easy and seamless as it includes cakes, delivery, and stands. Our guests loved choosing from a variety of chocolate ganache, vanilla with salted caramel, honey lavendar, and red velvet with cream cheese frosting cake. While we didn't get to try any cake at our wedding (make sure you TRY to do this!) we savored our top layer when we got home from our wedding...there was no way we were saving it for our first anniversary. Highly recommend Bella e Dolce for incredible & unique flavor variety, quality of product, and excellent customer service!

You won't be disappointed with Bella e Dolce. They did our wedding and were nothing but professional with amazingly delicious cake! No joke! It was so good! Some guests remember beautiful cakes, all remember delicious cakes, and Bella e Dolce delivered on both of these!
On top of that, we are celebrating an anniversary and I asked if they could help me surprise my wife by meeting some of my impossible demands. I thought they'd have to say no, but I was wrong. They are so nice and so accommodating! Again, you will not be disappointed!!! Thank you Paige and Kim!!!

Absolutely yummy! The cupcakes Bella e Dolce made for our wedding were delicious (and beautiful)! A couple of our guests in attendance are involved with weddings professionally and agreed that our cupcakes were the best they had ever tasted. Our cake was amazing too and looked just how I had envisioned my wedding cake in my head. We can't wait to get the top tier out of our freezer on our first anniversary to enjoy the cake again! Professional and accommodating while located in a relaxed and comfortable setting, planning our cake was an enjoyable experience. Bella e Dolce was attentive to details and made suggestions about what might look right while fully taking into account my own vision and stylistic input. The cake tasting was absolutely incredible and a great opportunity to taste any and all combinations of cake, frosting and ganache to find just the perfect flavors. Absolutely satisfied with our decision to go with Bella e Dolce and would highly recommend them to all other other couples looking to have a fantastic and memorable wedding cake.

Erin was fabulous and our cake turned out more gorgeous than ever expected! We wanted non traditional flavors so Erin made samples for us on a couple occasions until we were happy. We went with pistachio cake with amaretto liquor flavor filling and honey lavender cake with a lemon whiskey filling if I remember correctly, either way they were absolutely delicious and we received many compliments on how great the cake tasted and looked!! We are thrilled with how everything turned out and will be using Erin in the future!

Everything about our experience with Bella e Dolce was fantastic! From the cake tasting to saving the top tier of the cake after the wedding, we enjoyed every minute of it. They offer so many delicious cake and frosting combinations; it’s hard to decide on just a couple. The guests at our wedding were raving about how beautiful the cake was and how great it tasted! Both my husband and I are extreme Pink Floyd fans. Our wedding was small and intimate, we eloped to Mackinac Island, but I still wanted a cake for our celebration. I made contact with Paige at Bella e Dolce, letting her know my desire to be a Pink Floyd cake. A photo was sent to Paige- with that, her creativity took over! Our cake was exactly what I wanted and more! The multiple cake layers were bright beautiful colors, the outer design perfect! The flavor and cake texture- sheer ambrosia! Best of all, my very difficult to please husband, was overjoyed! We had our brunch at the island's Grand Hotel, where Paige had delivered the cake that morning. I am so Grateful to Paige of Bella e Dolce, for making my dream a reality. Thank you Paige!

Bella e Dolce created a gorgeous, MSU Spartan themed cake. Not only was it absolutely delicious, but it was gorgeous. Everyone in my family is still posting pictures of the cake on Facebook and commenting on how fitting it was for the wedding of two Spartan alumni.

My husband and myself were married on Mackinac Island, with a very small number of people attending (eight of us total!). After some back-and-forth "yes we want a cake" "no we don't want a cake," we decided to do just a very small cake that we could enjoy at dinner. I contacted Bella e Dolce after reading some great reviews, and I am so happy we decided to get a cake! Most importantly, it was absolutely delicious, and looked amazing! Also important, they were so great with figuring out our needs for a small wedding, and were so quick to respond to any communication. As an added bonus, we had intended on picking the cake up in Cheboygan, but since they had booked another event on the island, they delivered our cake as well! I would recommend Bella e Dolce to all the brides out there, and really to anyone looking for some fantastic desserts! They do not disappoint!

The most INCREDIBLE cake/deserts we've ever had! Erin was an absolute pleasure to work with and did an AMAZING job decorating our cake and setting up the most AWESOME dessert table. Our guests were over the moon about how tasty everything was! Our cake was gorgeous and everyone LOVED it. All of our guests said how great the desserts were and loved the presentation of them! You know everything was delicious when at the end of the night, there was only 4 pieces of cake left and 0 desserts left!!! We loved our wedding cake! It was beautiful and tasted delicious. The price was actually right on par with everything else we looked at, but it tasted much better than many other cakes we tried. This cake was worth every penny. Our family members were fighting over the leftovers. We froze the top and are really looking forward to having it on our 1st anniversary.

The tasting day was amazing. We couldn't believe how many delicious flavors and fillings we could choose from. They spent a lot of time assisting us with choosing flavors and working on a design. Kim and Paige always responded to my emails in a timely manner. My parents were worried about the cake traveling by ferry to Mackinac Island, but there were no issues. The cake looked perfect. I highly recommend Bella e Dolce.

Bella e Dolce was great! My husband and I drove up on a weekend to do a cake tasting. They had all of their products out to taste, and a beautiful home - all which made the experience so fun. Their cakes are delicious! We went with a very simple design, and they were happy to do whatever we wanted - although they had dozens of books with ideas for those people who don't know what they want. We had flowers delivered from our florist to add to the cake, and it all came together beautifully. Bella delivered the cake to Mackinac Island for our wedding. I wasn't around for any of that process, but the cake showed up in plenty of time, was gorgeous, and so delicious!! Many people told us they were the best around - and I have to say, I agree!

Erin you are AMAZING!! Our cake was delicious and it looked BEAUTIFUL. My husband used to be a cake decorator at Magnolia Bakery in New York City, so the cake was REALLY important to him. Erin was a little on the spendy side but it was worth every dollar. She really crushed it and even did a custom design for us with stencils and the works. It was just beautiful. Everyone thought our cake was delicious, and we are so glad we chose Erin to make our cake. Book with her early cause she gets BUSY!

As the mother of the bride, who happened to live 10 hours from Michigan, our experience with Bela e Dolce from the beginning was total excellence. Working with the crew, the bride designed the cake herself and they delivered exactly according to her wishes. There was a top layer left over from the wedding, so we brought it home, wrapped it up and froze it, then delivered it 3 months later to the newlyweds. It was still completely delicious! Truly a sign of the use of the very best ingredients. Thank you Bela e Dolce bakers and delivery crew. It was a grand day and the cake incredible.

Kim and Erin were terrific to work with. I wanted a front engine dragster groom's cake for our wedding. My husbands dragster was in the process of getting painted and the engine redone so I didn't have pictures of the finished product. After talking with Erin, she nailed it! I had such a great experience with them! From the initial tasting in her big beautiful kitchen, they really focus on what you have dreamed for your wedding cake. For the initial tasting, we tried everything you could think of. Then I sat down with Erin and she sketched my cake out with me! They can do so much more than I could have even imagined. They also did my grooms cake and it was awesome! The design was awesome and it tasted amazing! They are really great if you want a custom cake that tastes as good as it looks!

From the cake tasting to the actual wedding cake the process was delicious. The options for flavors from cake to frosting are endless and are all amazing. There were so many comments about how GOOD the cake was. I ordered a gluten free chocolate cake for my mom...her one wish was to have a piece of cake at my wedding and she loved it.

Our wedding cake was absolutely amazing! Bella E Dolce came recommended as a preferred vendor from Mission Point, on Mackinac Island, and we couldn't have imagined using any other vendor. Kim created the exact image of the cake we were hoping for, and the cake itself was SO delicious. Moist, fresh, and just perfect! Amazing and adorable gluten free cake! I was so excited as a celiac to be able to eat cake and it was more divine than any regular cake I'd even eaten! Highly recommend!

Kim and Erin were AMAZING with a capital A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The unique cake flavors were decadent, their guidance in pairing flavors was so helpful and the cake was absolutely the best cake I have ever eaten and every guest said the same! The design was flawless, elegant and stunning. I could not recommend them enough if you are having a wedding anywhere in their area you will not be disappointed!

Kim Sperl and her staff went above and beyond for our wedding cake. The cakes were decadent and amazing. All of our guests were so pleased.

Kim and her team did an excellent job with my wedding cake, it exceeded my expectations! I planned my wedding from out of town and Kim was so easy to deal with. I sent my sister for the tasting and Kim gave her samples to FedEx to me overnight-- one taste and I knew she was the one to make our cake! I found a picture of my dream cake online... it turned out exactly like the picture. Everyone was amazed at the way it was both BEAUTIFUL and so delicious. Bella e Dolce is a bit more expensive than other vendors in the area, but they are 100% worth it. I would most definitely recommend them to anyone getting married in the area.

Kim Sperl, owner, created a beautiful cake that matched our Cinderella/Fairytale theme perfectly. The cake was moist and delicious – all the guests raved about the cake. Even the fondant tasted good. The banana cake with chocolate frosting was my favorite. Be sure to attend her cake tasting event – it is very unique as the cake flavors are presented separately from the frosting options so you can try your own combinations as well as her combinations.

Bella Dolce provided a beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake and cake truffles for my daughter's wedding at the Inn of Bay Harbor. With just one meeting and a couple emails, they not only "delivered the goods", but they created the most delicious cake and cake truffles that many of my guests had ever had!

I was so excited to break my long wedding diet by eating one of their peanut-butter and chocolate cake truffle!! My only regret is that I did not sneak some back to my room for the next day!

My cake was an artistic confection.....tasty and very flavorful. Bailey's Irish creme cake and the same flavor buttercream....out of this world. Kim and Erin are wonderful !! This customer went to the moon and back in pure joy.

Kim is great! We went to her cake tasting and picked our flavors and then she took the time to sit down with us to go over what ideas we had for the cake. The experience that day was awesome and one of my mom and I's greatest memories of the wedding planning process.

Kim and her crew made sure that the cake arrived to Mackinac Island with plenty of time to spare. They were there on site to set it up and add fresh flowers that were delivered.

Our cake was beautiful and tasted delicious! I highly recommend her to anyone that is looking for a cake, whether it be for a wedding or other special event. And be sure to look for her signature lady bug that she places on the cake. :)

AMAZING! We were worried we wouldn't be able to find a baker that could make us an absolutely beautiful cake that also tasted good - but Bella e Dolce met both expectations. Everything was seamless and the cake tasting experience was wonderful and non-traditional (you could taste ALL cake flavors and ALL frosting/ganache flavors, mixing and matching to your heart's desire). They created our cake entirely based on a couple photos, and the ultimate cake was more beautiful than we could have imagined. We got a ton of compliments, and it was really one thing that was completely taken care of with a couple emails. They are the BEST in Michigan, hands down.

Kim from Bella e Dolce was very helpful. I planned my wedding from out-of-state so my worst fears during planning were 1)vendor will try to upsell me and charge me a lot for a cake, and 2)cake will not taste good (since I couldn't come to a cake testing appointment). I have to say that she dispelled all my fears. She helped me find the cake that will give the most bang for our buck and the cake tasted really good. She even put a little ladybug decoration on the back of the cake (which, according to our planner, was for good luck) and my husband and I thought it was awesome. Loved it. My husband and I were like, if we had to do the wedding all over again, we'd definitely go back to Bella e Dolce.

I have to admit, I don't really like wedding cake. In fact I didn't really want one, but we decided to get one because our mothers really wanted us to. I am so glad that we did because Bella e Dolce was the best cake I had ever had, even though I was only able to have two bites! We were planning on serving leftover cake with breakfast the next day but there was none left. We actually had guests asking the wait staff to bring them seconds, I have never heard of that before. Plus she made a Detroit Redwings cake to surprise my husband, which looked amazing! Great place to get fun and beautiful cakes.

Kim was so awesome to work with. We planned our wedding from Florida to have in Michigan and having her understand my vision through email and phone calls was a breeze! My wedding cake was stunning and not to mention delicious! She worked with me to get creative to get exactly what I wanted and stay within my budget. I would recommend Bella e Dolce to anyone! Mary was wonderful to work with. She made us amazing cupcakes for our wedding, as well as a groom's cake (a frog prince), and a small cake for the top of our cupcake stand. A few guests at our wedding were also gluten free and she made cupcakes for them. They tasted the same as our non-gluten free cupcakes. Setup was gorgeous and we were very happy with everything.

My cake was unbelievable! I was so sad I actually had to cut into it. Kim is so professional and can make any cake or cupcake you wish to have at your wedding. I found a picture I loved online and she created a breathtaking cake. I got so many comments from everyone at the wedding about how amazing they thought my cake was. Not to mention, it tasted wonderful, I actually got to eat some of it! I should also mention that I was married on Mackinac Island and she delivered the cake on time with no glitches. She comes very highly recommended! :)

I couldn't be more happy with my wedding cake. I got married at Mission Point on Mackinac Island and live in Metro Detroit. I had to do everything remotely and trusted that the cake would be as good as it was pretty, etc. The cake was exactly to my design specifications and it was absolutely delicious. They are truly artists and I would not go anywhere else.

We requested some pretty non-standard things from Bella e Dolce (a wedding cake completely covered in sprinkles, 330 mini sprinkle cakes, an enormous dessert bar, etc.) and they delivered everything perfectly. The desserts from Bella e Dolce were absolutely one of the highlights of our fantastic day. We would recommend them to anyone over and over and over again!

Bella e Dolce did an amazing job on my cake. I had given them a picture of what I wanted and even though it did not turn out exactly like the picture, it was absolutely beautiful and they added more to it than I thought I was going to get. They even put a candy ladybug on one tier for good luck. It was so delicious and everyone commented on how beautiful the cake was and how they couldn't believe how delicious it was. My husband said he things it was one of the best tasting he had ever had. Bottom line, through my experience I would definitely recommend Bella e Dolce to anyone because they know what they are doing and do an awesome job at it!

Beautifully decorated cake!

Thrilled with how my cake came out! I told Paige what I wanted and sent pictures to piece together my idea. She took my desires and completely executed it! The decor of my cake was the most spot on out of my entire wedding, it also tasted delicious and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. I highly recommend this bakery!

Our friend recommended Bella E Dolce after using them for their wedding (Southern MI branch).

The cake tasting process can be a bit overwhelming! So many cake flavors, frostings, and options to chose from, infinite possibilities! I guess this is not a bad problem to have. My fiance (now husband) and I picked out 2 different flavor combos we liked after some guidance from the team. Almond cake with layers of almond and cherry buttercream, and marble cake with salted caramel buttercream and chocolate ganache. The cake was delicious--not too sweet. We actually had extra cake after the wedding--and I was eating that stuff a week later and it was still delicious!

As for what the actually cake will look like, Erin was able to show us her previous work, and we were able to come up with a design incorporating our wedding colors. She sketched up our cake right there! I wanted a cake with rose gold accents, but nothing to glittery. The day of our wedding I was so happy to see a beautiful cake with shimmering rose gold details. Our 6-layer cake was an impressive site to see!

We may have splurged a bit on our cake, but after seeing it in-person and enjoying our cake choices, it was worth it. Erin was very easy to work with. You will not be disappointed if you chose Bella e Dolce.

OUR CAKE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND DELICIOUS!!!! They did a fabulous job. My husband and I loved our cake so much that we thought about not saving the top for our first anniversary because a frozen cake is never as good as a fresh cake. Though in the end we decided to save our top, I am sure it will be great a year from now. We gave her a picture of the cake we wanted, but wanted it buttercream not fondant which makes its harder too look crisp. It looked even better than the picture!

Kim was wonderful to work with, and very understanding when I didn't get my choices in "on time". They included an anniversary cake for free with the purchase of the cake. The cake itself was beautiful, exactly how I described it to Kim, and it tasted wonderful. I had lots of compliments on it. As I was planning from long distance, I only communicated with Kim via email, but everything was perfect. I felt very at ease with my decision to go with Bella e Dolce.

Our cake was delicious and beautiful! It was everything we wanted in a cake. Erin was really friendly and professional. At times, responsiveness was a little slow, but I'm sure it is because it was her busy season. She always apologized and it was never caused a bigger issue. I definitely recommend Bella e Dolce, and I will definitely be ordering more cakes in the future.

great cake service

We did have to pay a fee to try some samples, but the cost was removed when we signed with them the same day. They do charge roughly 7 dollars per slice, but they use local ingredients, and it makes the cake taste really good. We also ordered macaroons for our wedding, and those were probably my favorite treat of the night.

Delicious and beautiful cake which is overall what you want right?

1) I didn't receive an invoice for my cake. Not when I had my consultation/tasting session and not when they claimed to have sent it to me. I had to request this.

2) Honestly, I thought it was a bit too pricey. They are busy and successful so they have every right to charge what they want (hey, I paid them!) but in hindsight, you can go cheaper with very close to if not the same quality.

3) Bella E Dolce kind of listened to the description of what I wanted. Size. shape, flavor and position of tiers was absolutely perfect. However, I paid a pretty good chunk of extra money for fresh fruit and at my tasting/consultation was very specific about what I wanted those fruits to be. When I did see the cake I was pretty disappointed. Bella E Dolce did a lovely job with every fruit they always use when they use fresh fruit, not just the specific ones I requested (and paid a ton of money for). My family and guests didn't know any different and were very impressed but I felt my vision wasn't realized as well as it could have been. I guess if you have something specific in mind, be in close contact and make sure they know what you want. Double, triple, quadruple check that they understand you.
