Amazing for Hair and Make up!

Behind the Veil was incredible to work with from start to finish! They are easy to communicate with and are very responsive. The artists are incredibly talented and my bridal hair and make-up was better than I ever imagined! My hair and make-up lasted all night, but was so natural-looking and beautiful, which is exactly what I was searching for. Thank you to Avese and Laurie for my bridal hair and make-up! Even a bridesmaid that usually doesn’t get makeup done, decided to do it last minute because it looked SO good. Not only are they super talented, they are also so kind and fun to work with. It was great to hang out with them the morning of my wedding. I highly recommend anyone looking for HMU for their big day to consider Behind the Veil!

Beautiful results and a breeze to work with!

Stephanie and Kaye with Behind the Veil provided hair and makeup for my wedding day and were incredible. They were able to work on me and my bridesmaids different hair types and styles and skin types and inspo to create the perfect look for each of us. They spend so much time working with me during and after my trial to make sure I had exactly the look I wanted on my wedding day that lasted all night long. And to top it all off we finished up hair and makeup 30 minutes ahead of schedule which was such a blessing on wedding morning! The entire Behind the Veil team was also so easy to work with leading up to my day, willing to answer any question, and helped us put together a schedule for that morning so we didn't feel rushed at all. I highly recommend Behind the Veil!

I also want to thank you for going above and beyond in helping me find a new make up artist after my trial didn't go as planned. True absolutely KILLED my make up for both the rehearsal and my wedding day. Without both True and Taylor's magical hands, I wouldn't have looked as great as I did! Great Wedding MUA!

I wanted a natural look with a little oomph for my wedding day and LeAnne was lovely. She listened to my concerns about being a sweaty lady, adjusted anything I needed her to, and kept chill vibes (SUPER helpful on wedding day). My makeup photographed beautifully and held up the whole night. She was even good with some of my pickier bridesmaids.

Excellent hair and make-up artists who you can count on!

Behind the Veil was such a great vendor to work with for my wedding. From scheduling my bridal hair & makeup trial to every last curl on wedding day, working with the team was seamless and easy. I had a large bridal party and the team was able to get everyone ready to go on time and with a beautiful result. I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day, and I have Behind the Veil to thank for that. They are professional, talented, and worth every penny. I highly recommend this vendor!

wedding hair and makeup

I had a very unique experience with BTV because I was planning from overseas! Angela was very helpful and worked with me to ensure payments could go through. I had to wait until about 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding to have my hair and makeup trial (cutting it close but had no choice!). I left my hair and make up trial not feeling confident with my hair; luckily Angela contacted me the next day for feed back and we organized another trial to make sure I felt good about my hair! I so appreciated both Angela and Dede coming in on a weekend to squeeze in another trial. All together I had 2x hair and 2x makeup artists to provide service on the wedding day and everyone looked AMAZING!!!!

Perfect Makeup & Came to Us

Working with BTV was a great experience from start to finish. Booking with them was easy--they had one of the best values for the price and were responsive and knowledgeable, answering all my questions. They had clear pricing and helped us with needs like coming to us, how to arrange parking for them day-of, etc. My trial with Lynda was great and easy, and we worked out a couple changes for the big day. On my wedding day, Lynda incorporated my requests into the absolutely perfect look -- no notes!!! And all of my friends and family were thrilled with their makeup, too. The airbrush looked phenomenal. She was on time, responsive, and stayed on schedule. And, maybe most importantly, Lynda was an absolute delight to have in the wedding suite and kept me and my loved ones calm and smiling throughout the process. Our makeup looked perfect all day -- until literally 2 am! I would recommend them to any bride!

Beautiful work and amazing vibes

We worked with BTV for our September 2024 wedding and couldn't be happier with the experience- Kimi and Nicole were the lead artists for hair and makeup services, and it was perfection! They managed the perfect mix of glam and natural, while making sure that myself and the bridesmaids still looked like ourselves. Everyone's makeup and hair held up wonderfully throughout a night of celebrating and even some rain, which was huge! They also contributed so much positive energy to the getting-ready process which made the day just that much more fun. They came completely prepared to the hotel and helped with creating a schedule to ensure everyone was ready on-time. Absolutely one of our best vendor choices!

Absolutely Stunning with Cindy!

I can’t thank Cindy enough for the incredible job she did on my makeup for my wedding! I felt absolutely gorgeous, and the look was exactly what I envisioned. She truly has a talent for enhancing natural beauty while making you feel special.

Cindy also worked her magic on my mother and my best friend, and they both looked stunning as well! We all received so many compliments throughout the day. The makeup lasted through emotional toasts and romantic moments to sweating on the dance floor!

Her professionalism, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. She traveled to the venue and took away all the stress on the big day! If you’re looking for a makeup artist who can make you feel radiant on your special day, I wholeheartedly recommend Cindy!

So happy with how the beauty for my wedding turned out! BTV was super easy to work with and when my hair stylist last-minute became unavailable the week of my wedding, they quickly found a great replacement. Antrim1844 - Wedding

Joan & Maria came and did hair & make-up for the entire bridal party, the bride and the mother of the bride. They arrived very early in the morning with the most amazing personalities and professionalism. The listened to each person and made each of us feel so beautiful. Every person has a different style and they transformed every member exactly to their specifications. After everyone was finished they stayed and made sure final touches were done with make-up and hair. Either more lipstick needing to be applied, additional blush or more hair spray or a slight correction of a curl in our hair. Within a short period of time, the lovely ladies became close friends and they were so excited for the day ahead of us. Thank you so much for touching our hearts and making us feel so amazing for the wedding day! We cannot thank you enough and we most certainly will recommend you to any future brides that we know.

I recently went to Behind the Veil for my first trial with makeup, and the initial experience didn't match my inspiration picture. However, the staff quickly addressed my concerns and graciously switched me over to another makeup artist, Joan. I couldn't be happier with the results! She did an amazing job and truly brought my vision to life. Additionally, Lauren, the hair stylist, created a stunning hairstyle that perfectly complemented my makeup. Behind the Veil was a dream to work with! Laurie was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. We had a very early start time and the team was on time and professional. I had a lot of anxiety going into the hair/makeup process for my wedding day, since I have cried previously at other weddings as a bridesmaid because I did not feel like me. Wonderful and attentive makeup artists!

Jenn and her team at BTV were amazing for my bridal party's makeup! They worked so efficiently and my bridesmaids were all so impressed and happy with their looks. I loved working with Jenn and she was extremely attentive to exactly what I wanted for my bridal makeup, down to the exact shade and contour. During the trial she was so thorough, then during the day of I was pretty stressed about the weather, and she did a fabulous job despite me being very distracted. I had several guests come up to me commenting on how good my makeup looked. I am extremely grateful and would highly recommend Behind the Veil for your wedding!

Great H/M Team - Timely service and Responsive

Behind the Veil was an awesome on site hair and makeup team. I had reached out to them a year and a half in advance of my wedding date, and their team was incredibly responsive with pricing/availability/etc. Since I was planning a wedding in Annapolis from out of state, having a responsive office was really important to me. With a large bridal party of 9 bridesmaids, 2 moms and a bride, I requested 2 hair and 2 makeup a few weeks before the wedding, and they quickly accommodated and had additional team members attend. On the day of the wedding, all 4 artists were timely and got my whole group completed an hour ahead of schedule, and everyone looked beautiful. Brittany and Leanne for makeup, Michele and Avese for hair — all great! It was also really convenient that they could come onsite to our hotel to get everyone ready. I was not able to do a trial run being out of state, but I was able to share a Pinterest board to my stylists ahead of time to give them insights into what I was thinking as well.

Gorgeous Makeup!!

Behind the Veil provided outstanding and fabulous makeup artistry for my wedding!

My "bride squad" looked amazing and gorgeous! Laurie was an absolute pleasure to work with, her responsiveness, professionalism, and talent were top-notch! She took the worrying out of makeup for my big day. So, I am 62 years old, and Laurie had me looking gorgeous and many years younger than I am. She worked true magic, I am so grateful!! She also did a fabulous job on makeup for my daughters (age 29 and 33), and my cousin and best friend. Do not hesitate to hire Behind the Veil for your wedding makeup!

Great team

I hired Behind the Veil to do the hair and makeup for my wedding day in 12/2022. Maria and Nicole were great. Nicole did my makeup and after showing her just a few pictures and discussing a few things, she was able to take this make up novice and give me a beautiful natural look. I seriously had no critique she did an amazing job! And Maria took it in stride when I asked her to add a braid to my hair style the day of the wedding and gave me curls that lasted all day! It was a great experience and I am so happy with picking BTV for my big day!

Great experience from start to finish!

I hired BTV to be the beauty team for our recent November wedding and would happily do it all over again!

From the initial contact to learn more about their services and pricing through the wedding day, Laurie and the team at BTV Beauty made the experience smooth and stress free.

Our makeup artist was Christie and our hair artist was Stephanie and they are a dream team! I walked away from my hair and makeup trial (where I simply said “I had no idea I could look this good!”) completely over the moon with my classic Hollywood glam look and they delivered again on our wedding day for our bridal party. Christie and Stephanie worked well together and were simply just great to be around - they have such good energy!

I am not someone who regularly wears makeup and knew that I wanted to still look like myself on our wedding day, just an elevated version of myself. Christie absolutely nailed my makeup!

I can not recommend BTV Beauty enough - they made me feel gorgeous on our wedding day!

Great Experience

My bridesmaids and I had a good experience working with Behind the Veil. Maria did our hair and Christy our makeup. They were so organized, quick, and prepared the day of the wedding and helpful working with each of our complexions and looks. They offered touchups before the big ceremony -- our hair and makeup lasted all day which was a huge relief. Very happy with my experience and would recommend!

Stunning and professional!!

Laurie was fantastic and so professional with keeping up with all my last minute changes and she was so nice about everything!
Maria did such an amazing job with all our hairs and the curls held all day and night!
Brittany did such a fantastic job with everyone’s make up!! We went with more of a soft glam look and it was fun and beautiful!!!!

Amazing Experience with Behind the Veil!

After my original plans for hair and make-up fell through just a few months before our wedding date, I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to find hair and make-up services that offered exactly what I wanted for myself and my bridal party at an affordable price. However, I consider myself lucky that Behind the Veil happened to have my wedding date available because they provided everything we wanted and more. Both Maria, our hairstylist, and Jenn, our make-up artist, were incredibly talented and a pleasure to work with. They were efficient and also very flexible regarding the order of services and last-minute changes and requests. This put everyone at ease and really helped to make the entire day much more relaxing.

I am someone that does not often do much with my hair and I rarely wear make-up, so I was unsure about specific things that I wanted, but Maria and Jenn were both able to expertly determine the perfect look for me based on my comfort level and the specific characteristics of my hair/skin. After the wonderful experience that I had with them, I would highly recommend Behind the Veil (specifically, Maria and Jenn!) for anyone looking for hair and make-up services for their wedding!

Great expereince!

Behind the Veil was wonderful to work with throughout the planning process. They were informative, responsive, and personable in their approach. I used my trial make up as my engagement shoot make up. Joan was incredible at listening to what I wanted and made me feel at ease the whole time. Plus, I loved talking with her about our love for our pets! Joan also did the make up for the bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, flower girls, and me on the wedding day. She did an excellent job managing time and making sure each person had time for final touch ups before the ceremony. I have never felt more beautiful.

Impeccable Service

I was SO lucky to find Behind the Veil for my hair/makeup. I had another vendor booked for several months when they canceled stating they had double booked. Laurie was able to help me quickly lock in a team for both hair/makeup. She was patient and quick to respond to all of my questions. The price was very fair compared to others I had researched in the area.

Thea was my hair stylist and Joan was my makeup artist. They were both AMAZING. My hair and makeup were both exactly what I wanted and they both lasted the entire night day/night without needing touchups.

They both brought along assistants to help with the bridal party and family members. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous! My sister in law was so happy with how she looked that she booked Joan to do her makeup for an important work function a few weeks later.

Beautiful work. Easy, accommodating, quick!

Behind the Veil was amazing to work with. Last minute we decided to hire another makeup artist (Kristen!) for our large group (7 bridesmaids, 1 bride, 2 moms), and BTV stepped right in! They were so easy to work with. Kristen did an AMAZING job. The makeup of the girls looked stunning, and lasted the entire wedding event (through many, many happy tears!). Highly recommend!

Behind the Veil did the hair and makeup for me, my 5 bridesmaids, my mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother. They came to our hotel in Stevensville, MD which made the day run so smoothly. They made sure we all looked absolutely STUNNING. Everyone’s hair and makeup looked perfect and stayed perfect all night long. They communicated with me a few months before to schedule my trial, and then again a few weeks before the wedding to finalize the headcount and timeline. On the day of, the stylists texted me to stay in contact about their arrival. They were both so sweet and personable.

Great experience

Joan from behind the veil was great for my wedding make-up. She also did my moms make up and she looked amazing, even though she has stage 4 lung cancer. The price was affordable and they even came to me!

Excellent from start to finish!

We had such a wonderful experience with Behind the Veil for our recent wedding! We worked with Thea for hair and Joan for makeup and both were stellar. They were so responsive and flexible ahead of the big day, including during my trails. And day-of they were prompt and efficient, making the morning relaxing and stress-free. They adapted on the spot to new requests and all of my bridesmaids (and myself!) were thrilled with their hair and makeup results. It was absolutely perfect, and stayed in place all day long! Would 100% recommend!

Highly recommend for any occasion

We originally did not plan for anyone to do our makeup. However, about two days before the wedding we changed our mind and reached out to Behind the Veil. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us. Scheduling was quite easy. Brittany was super nice, timely, and most importantly, achieved the natural look we were going for. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Perfect day!

I had the best experience working with Behind the Veil for our wedding. From day one, I felt like I was in good hands - it was incredibly easy to book our bridal/bridesmaids services and it was an added bonus that their stylists came to us. Suzy and Brittany were the absolute best and made our getting ready morning fun. They kept everything moving along without feeling rushed, we were actually ahead of schedule! My girls even added some services and were able to have a relaxing morning. I loved my hair and makeup and felt beautiful on my wedding day. All of my bridesmaids, my mom and mother in law, and our flower girls looked flawless. I would highly recommend Behind the Veil for your big day.

Maria and Joan are friendly, professional, and efficient hair and make-up artists who created flawless looks for four women with very different hair lengths and “comfort levels” when it comes to full faces of makeup. Best Hair and Make Up

Christina and Maria did make up and hair for me and my bridal party. Everyone can not stop raving over how sweet, efficient and wonderful these ladies were. Not one person was upset with either make up or hair. One and done! They truly listen to what you want and deliver. I always get nervous about looking like a drag queen with make up- but Christina made me look so natural. You can truly tell that she loves what she does! Huge thank you!

Great experience and everyone looked so beautiful!

I hired them for hair and makeup services for myself (Bride) plus 4 bridesmaids. From start to finish I had a great experience. They are so organized and really make you feel like you're their only bride. I only realized I was not when I went for my trial and they had completely taken over a salon! I met with my hair stylist and makeup artist at my trial and left feeling excited and beautiful. The day of went super smoothly, they both arrived on time and everyone turned our beautifully and the makeup and hair lasted the entire day!

Best Hair and Make up team ever!!!!!

I hired Holly for hair and Autumn for make-up through Behind the Veil for my 2 day wedding and this was one of the best decisions I made regarding my wedding. Laurie, from Behind the Veil, was extremely kind and professional during all of our correspondences as we set up pricing and trials. Holly is extremely talented with hair. Combined with her speed and efficiency she is talented in a variety of hairstyles that she was shown day of by all the ladies in the wedding and every single one of them left her chair loving how they looked. Autumn is extremely talented when it comes to make up and was able to meet the needs of everyone who asked for makeup! This team made everyone look gorgeous and they did so two days in a row!!! If you want to look the most beautiful you ever have on your special day go with Holly and Autumn from Behind the Veil!!!

The most beautiful you will ever feel!!

I cannot speak more highly of Angela (makeup) and Maria (hair)! They truly were the reason everyone felt so confident and gorgeous on our wedding day. I did hair and makeup trials before the wedding day, which was so much fun and just solidified the fact that they are the best artists around. On the wedding day, they perfectly replicated what we had done in the trial, and OMG I cannot get over how amazing it all looked! My skin was actually glowing from the makeup, but was also natural enough that I didn't look like I dipped my face in a vat of paint. My hair was soft and romantic, and held up all the way through the after party. Every single one of the bridesmaids were thrilled with their final looks, and my mom and mother-in-law decided to get their makeup done because everyone else looked so amazing!! I promise you this is the best money you will spend on your wedding day!

I would highly recommend Behind the Veil!

I would highly recommend Behind the Veil! I was a very last minute bride and Laurie was able to find me the perfect hairstylist, Rochelle. And again being last minute, Laurie and Rochelle were able to squeeze me in for my hair trial. I met Rochelle for the trial and showed her a picture for inspiration. I wanted a braid and the rest of my hair curly but I was nervous because my hair does not hold curls and with my wedding being in September I was super nervous about the humidity. Rochelle was able to do my hair exactly how I wanted it and the curls actually stayed! Then comes the wedding day, Rochelle was super prompt and professional! I even decided that day I wanted to add an additional braid and a hairpiece. Rochelle was so sweet and accommodating and made my wedding hair so much better than I ever could have envisioned! And as an added bonus my hair stayed curled all night, even through dancing! Rochelle also perfectly styled my bridesmaids hair! Which ranged from half up half down to all down with braids. All in all, Rochelle was truly amazing and I would highly recommend Behind the Veil!

Words can’t describe how thankful I am for Behind the Veil! They were extremely flexible, easy to work with, understanding, and so talented! The moment I saw their work at my friends wedding, I couldn’t wait to sign up! It was beautiful! I wasn’t the easiest bride because of my work shift schedule, uncertainty on what I wanted and also had a black eye on the wedding day. But this company did EVERYTHING they could to help me! The team was always on time, energized, and excited to work with us. Holly was accommodating and worked with my mom and I to get our hair just right. We loved her calm, cool and friendly personality! The make up artist, Angela, did SUCH a terrific job on my black eye and make up, no one even noticed my it the day of the wedding! The make up was striking but so natural! She was perfect! I absolutely loved it and saved my wedding day! I got many compliments on how well she did! I dont know what i would have done without her! Laurie was so patient, kind, understanding and such a delight to work with as well! I couldn’t have asked for a better team! The BTV team is absolutely amazing. I am incredibly picky when it comes to hair and makeup and I could not have loved my wedding look more. They even provide you with a day-of getting ready timeline to make sure your wedding morning goes as smoothly as possible. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Professional Women; Beautiful work!

I am so happy with my decision to use Behind the Veil. I went to a trial at a different popular DC/Baltimore area vendor and they really did not wow me. I gave BTV a shot at their salon location (which is beautiful!) and was blown away by their work. Despite how beautiful I felt after my trial, I felt even MORE SO on my wedding day. My bridesmaids, mother, and MIL were also very happy with their hair and makeup. The two ladies we worked with had such a calming presence, which certainly matters a lot when you are spending about 6 hours with them!! The team is professional and great communicators. I would unhesitatingly recommend Behind the Veil Beauty.

Beautiful and a joy to work with!

Behind the veil was great for our on-site makeup and hair! I have NEVER been in a wedding where we had to move girls around because they were done early instead of being behind schedule. We had more time than we needed for touch up because they worked so fast and well together. It is great that they have a physical location for trials and that you get to work with the girls you trial with (even if you’re like me and book it a year before your wedding). My head artists Heather and Joseline were open to criticism and really worked to make sure I had the look I wanted for the day! They were both so fun to work with and talk to, which really helps when the nerves start setting in. Everything turned out so well and I was so happy with the service.

Every single person was happy with their hair and makeup!

I was married on Nov 3rd in Baltimore City and selected Behind the Veil for my hair and makeup team. I could not have been happier with Thea and Shanel for hair and Kelsey and Nicole for makeup. Each stylist arrived on time at the designated location and really listened to what each bridesmaid and family member wanted and the level of makeup they were comfortable with. Everyone was thrilled with how their hair and makeup came out, and I could not have been happier with the level of professionalism not only from the stylists but also from the administrative team. Most importantly, the hair and makeup team was very flexible. I had done my hair and makeup trial back in April (which in retrospect was too far in advance) and ended up changing my mind for both hair and makeup on the day of the wedding. Kelsey and Thea were extremely accommodating and with a combination of pictures and descriptions of what I wanted, were able to create the exact look I was going for. It was such an amazing day which was made even better by the fact that I felt beautiful and because working with Behind the Veil was so stress-free.

Made me and my girls feel truly beautiful!

This is a lovely beauty company that contracts with some of the best artists in the biz in the Baltimore area. My hair and makeup artists arrived on time for my 9/29 wedding at Havre de Grace with no hassle and were ready to go immediately. We wasted no time and everyone was ready and beautiful with time to spare. I hade Melissa as my hair stylist and Angela as my makeup artist. The products Angela used were wonderful and like... industrial-grade waterproof. Perfect for a bride who is a total cryer like me! 10/10 would recommend!

I can't say enough amazing things about the team at Behind the Veil!! I got married at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, and since we were staying at The Inn there I knew I wanted on-site hair and makeup services for myself and my bridesmaids. Renee did our hair, and Angela did our makeup, and we all looked so stunning!! Not only did I feel incredibly beautiful on my wedding day, but they made the whole getting ready process so easy and stress-free. We had a blast!

I also have to mention the entire booking and planning process was so smooth. From the first inquiry, to the trial, to the wedding day, their entire team was professional, efficient and a pleasure to work with. I can't recommend them enough!!

Kelsey and Maria came to my MOH's Air B&B before my wedding and were fantastic! Maria was efficient and speedy with hair, and Kelsey did a great job with the makeup! They were both so pleasant to talk with and got us excited for the wedding. I want to give an extra shout out to Kelsey because she was doing amazing work on each of my bridesmaids, talking to them about all her make up and letting them try different kinds while being 20 weeks pregnant and making it look easy! Arranging everything was easy with Laurie, she was very responsive with email. Definitely recommend!

We had an excellent experience working with Behind the Veil! Our main hairstylist was Renee, and main makeup artist was Kelsey (we did have a second hairstylist and makeup artist so that we wouldn't have to start getting ready too early in the morning, but in the whirlwind of my wedding day, I forgot their names - they were great though!). I did a trial with Renee and Kelsey, and what I liked best about both of them is how they wanted me to feel completely like myself on my wedding day. I gave Renee a general style I wanted, and she created the most beautiful style. I told Kelsey I wanted very natural makeup, and she came up with a style that made me look like the best version of myself :) On the day of the wedding, things went so smoothly. They arrived on time, and got started right away. They kept everything on track, and we were all finished early! They did touch ups, so no one felt like their hair or makeup wasn't fresh because they went first. They kept the day so relaxed for us - we never felt rushed or stressed. Everyone's hair and makeup came out beautifully, and looked amazing in pictures. My wedding party says that it was worth every penny, and I agree!

This company is amazing to work with! My trial went so smoothly, and I was so excited to work with them again. When it came to wedding day both hair and makeup artists came very early which was great! They set up all their things and began to work right on schedule. That helped me remain calm and relaxed while everyone was getting ready. Our hair lady worked VERY quickly! She was very impressive doing updos within 20-30 minutes! Leslie was my makeup artist and she did beautiful makeup on everyone! Both girls were very professional and fun to work with! My hair and makeup lasted all night, even in the muggy/sticky Maryland weather!

Maria & Angela were my dream glam squad! They were so sweet & personable & made me feel like a queen. Behind the veil did such a beautiful job!!! Maria and Holly were my stylists for the big day and they did such a beautiful job on everyone. BTV was absolutely fantastic! Angie did my makeup sooooo perfectly and even gave me tips on how to do things myself later on! I don't have words for how beautiful of a job she did (especially the eyebrows!). Hair was done for my bridesmaids and mothers(also flower girls) and everyone absolutely loved their look. I actually can't say enough good things about Behind the Veil! They were so responsive and so helpful throughout this whole process! I heard about them from a friend who was a bridesmaid in another friend's wedding. She said they did a wonderful job on everyone and Moms, brides, and bridesmaids were super happy.
I decided to trust my friend and went in for my trial. I had a great experience so I was super excited for my actual wedding day. I had Leslie for my makeup and Heather do my hair and I loved both of them as they were so friendly and personable.
On the day of the wedding, my hair and makeup came out great, but they also did an amazing job with all of my bridesmaids who have very different hair textures and makeup styles. I had several bridesmaids who wear very little makeup and they were happy and comfortable as well as others who are used to being more glammed up! They are really professional at listening to the client and delivering what the client wants!
Aside from being really kind, fun, and responsive, they are also very reasonably priced, especially for the DC area. I did the research and spoke to a number of other salons--everyone else charged more AND I did not feel I was compromising quality in any way! Highly recommend!

We loved working with Behind the Veil! Not only were they nice enough to give me, the bride, a second hair and makeup trial for free, but they were also super helpful in picking the best look for me. On the wedding day, I ended up waking up with pink eye in one of my eyes and Heather, my hair and makeup person, was super sweet and nice about it. I used my own makeup and she was able to scrap some of it off of the top so that I would not have to throw all of my makeup away. I would definitely recommend every bride/ bridal party using Behind the Veil as their hair and makeup vendor!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Laurie and Behind the Veil! Laurie was extremely helpful in making sure that all of the logistics were set, and that I felt comfortable with my bridal session. I planned my wedding from across the country, and she really ensured that everything went as smoothly as possible so that I didn't have to worry about a thing. My stylists were Renee & Kelsey, and they were beyond amazing. Although on the expensive side of things, it was worth every penny. Not only did my bridesmaids looks gorgeous, but I felt the prettiest I have ever felt in my life, which is how every bride should feel on their wedding day. They listened to what I wanted, and provided their suggestions without being pushy. I felt totally in control over my over all look, and they orchestrated what I wanted in the most perfect way. They were also so sweet and fun, and contributed to the light-hearted, happy feel of the morning of my wedding. Hair & makeup is something that brides shouldn't skimp on, and I am so pleased that I will have photographs of Kelsey and Renee's work to cherish forever. I worked with Behind the Veil for my wedding day makeup and I could not be happier. All of my wedding party looked amazing. A HUGE shout out to Leslie for her amazing work. Leslie was fantastic to work with the day of the wedding. She showed up early and spent the whole day working on 8 total people. I am so happy I chose to work with BTV! If you are looking for a makeup company that is on top of it all, Behind the Veil is for you!

Behind the Veil did a wonderful job for my two day wedding. I am a South Asian bride and had very specific ideas on what I wanted to look like during my wedding events and was not sure if they would be able to deliver but after my hair and makeup trial I was totally a believer. I wanted to go super glam for my wedding to stand up to my ornate jewelry and dress and at my hair and makeup trial, Behind the Veil totally delivered. I was simply amazed and even my very hard to please mother approved. They made my mother, sister and 6 bridesmaids look incredible on the wedding day and my look was exactly what I had envisioned. I would highly recommend them to any bride!

I used Behind the Veil for my bridal hair and make up as well as for my bridal party (11 - 7 BM, 2 JBM, 2 FG). Our wedding was in August 2017 at the USNA with a reception at the Governor Calvert House. The hair and make up was amazing. I was so impressed with all of the stylists! Would highly recommend for weddings/special occasions to anyone in the great Annapolis/DC Metro area.

I choose Behind the Veil after being in my friend's wedding two years ago that used the company. The artists were spectacular and so much fun to hang out with on the day of! My girls got their hair and makeup done and we used Renee for hair and Kaytee for makeup. They were both amazing! I fell in love with their styles during my trial. Renee was really able to help me focus in on what I wanted for my hair and she was so open for me changing it up a bit on my day of. The end result was fantastic. She also gave me great tips for the wedding day, like bringing tupperware for leftover food. Kaytee was also wonderful. I didn't want to feel like I had makeup caked on and really wanted to look like a glammed up version of myself for the wedding. Kaytee nailed she. She took the time to find the perfect lip color and I felt so beautiful. She even recommended a great eyebrow place to go before the wedding (who is now my regular place). My girls loved both of them on the day of and we never felt rushed or like someone didn't enough beauty time. They were so wonderful and BTV was so easy and responsive to work with! They always answered emails and made me feel like a priority to them. I can't recommend this company enough - especially Renee and Kaytee!!

I loved working with Behind the Veil. I was in a wedding that used BTV and I chose them for my own wedding. Heather (hair) was amazing at my trial and on the day of. She listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions. I loved my hair that day. Laurie (make up) was also amazing and did the best job. I barely felt like I had make up on but thought it was amazing. I really appreciated that she started low and we were able to build up to the exact shade of eyeshadow that looked good. All my bridesmaids had hair/make up done and they all looked gorgeous.

I could not be happier with how everyone looked on my wedding day. Natalie did the most beautiful job with my make up and Thea did a great job even though my hair didn't give her much to work with. Behind the Veil gets great professionals and I highly recommend them.

The Behind the Veil team made me feel so incredibly beautiful and confident on my wedding day. I really liked having a hair and make-up trial with the people who would be working with my on my wedding day. It made me feel really at ease about my look for the wedding day. I had a minor hiccup scheduling my hair and make-up trial, but the company more than made up for the scheduling issue with their customer service. On our wedding day the stylists came to our hotel at the Four Seasons in Baltimore. They were on time and set up quickly. I loved our hair stylists Holly and Caitlin Lee. They were quick and responsive to my bridesmaids’ requests during styling. I must also add they were very patient with my 6 year old flower girl :). My make-up artist was just a dream, Kaytee made me feel so gorgeous and stunning. Every single picture from our wedding day I look so beautiful, the make-up lasted the entire day and into the night. The make-up looked natural on everyone and complimented their features. Before the stylist team left our hotel, they touched up hair and make-up for us to get ready for pictures. My sister is getting married this fall and she is also using Behind the Veil for her wedding. I am thrilled to be working with them again and know that my sister will get the same great service for her wedding.

I had a bad experience with the first makeup company I had tried for my wedding so I was very wary as I went forward trying to find a new one. My friend suggested Behind the Veil as they had done her sister-in-law's wedding. Laurie from Behind the Veil put my mind at ease. She was always on top of replying to my messages and was willing to answer any questions I had. The day of the trial I arrived at the salon they work out of and very much enjoyed meeting and working with Nancy. She was very nice and easy going and she wanted to make sure she nailed the vision I had for my makeup. The week of my wedding Laurie made sure to follow up with me regarding a timeline and to give me Nancy's contact information so that I had it if needed. On the big day Nancy arrived on time and ready to work. Again, she was very nice and made sure she was doing everyone's makeup exactly how they wanted it. She stayed until everyone left for pictures just in case anyone needed a touch up which was great. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I could not have been more thankful for this amazing company and their services! I literally had every brides nightmare, my hair and makeup artist canceled the week before my wedding and I was scrambling to find someone and wanted someone good. I had become hopeless as everyone seemed booked but then it was just fait, one of the teams makeup artist just happened to be in ocean city at the same time as my wedding and she agreed to do my self and my bridal parties makeup. Everyones makeup looked flawless and lasted, the artist used quality product and was super sweet!! I again am so thankful for this company and their amazing team!
They did try to find someone for hair for me as well but they were completely booked but that worked out as well as I had a friend do all of our hair and it also was amazing!!

The make up/hair services I booked through Behind the Veil could not have been more perfect! I don't usually wear more than mascara on a daily basis so I was nervous that I would not look like myself - but Leslie did an amazing job and I could not be happier with my wedding day make up. All 5 of my girls who got their make up done also loved it and thought Leslie was fun, easy going, and an exceptional make up artist. Cat - who did our hair - was also amazing and did 6 distinct hair styles for all of us and everyone was happy! My wedding day hair was exactly what I imagined and stayed in place all day long. I would book them again in a heartbeat!

Hair stylists Thea and Holly did an amazing job on my bridesmaids, my mother, my mother-in-law and myself on my wedding day. We are so thrilled with how everyone's hair turned out. They worked quickly and efficiently and were super sweet. All of us have different hair types and that was a non-issue. The hair styles lasted through surprise showers during the outdoor ceremony and sweating during dancing. I have very curly hair and I requested a stylist who is very familiar with curly hair, and Thea delivered. Laurie was very communicative via email and answered any questions promptly and professionally. Overall, great experience working with Behind the Veil and I would highly recommend them.

Behind the Veil was extremely accommodating to my needs, professional and fun! I felt like a princess. My now husband “humorously” asked if they could fix me up for holidays and special occasions. Couldn't be happier with the service provided by Behind the Veil. They were timely, professional, and created exactly the look I wanted for my wedding day. I would definitely recommend the trial, as it allowed us to tweak the look in the right way. Kaytee was a fantastic makeup artist, extremely knowledgable about all the products, and even spent extra time making my lashes look amazing. They were also really sweet and it was fun having the girls around while the bridal party got ready. Laurie was great during the planning process as well. She created a detailed timeline for the day of the wedding, which helped us stay on track and not feel stressed about the timing. Thank you for helping to make my wedding day perfect!

We had Renee for hair and Melanie for make-up, they were both so great! Everyone looked gorgeous and the timeline created for hair and make-up was perfect for getting ready. Laurie was great at answering emails quickly and being very helpful. Would recommend them to everyone!

I absolutely loved Behind the Veil! They were wonderful to work with and I would definitely recommend them to any bride! They went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule when setting up my hair trial and it was greatly appreciated during busy wedding planning! Wow- the stylists and make-up artists at Behind the Veil are amazing. The entire process of working with them was easy and very professional. BTV was truly amazing to work with for our wedding. From the start, they were extremely responsive with my questions and were so accommodating. The day of the wedding we had Renee for hair and Leslie for make up. Both did a phenomenal job on the wedding party and family. Not only are Renee and Leslie true artists at their skill, they were fun to have around while getting ready. I’m still having friends and family rave about how wonderful they were and how great everyone looked!

I would recommend BTV to any bride! Kaytee did my makeup and Renee did my hair and they were both absolutely fabulous. They asked a lot of questions during my trial and made adjustments until I was 100% comfortable with the look. Kaytee is so warm and easy to talk to and full of compliments - I felt instantly and completely comfortable with her. Renee was a doll as well - during my trial she gave me unique/fun ideas for my wedding (like a Maryland-themed signature cocktail) all the while giving me a perfect updo! On the day of my wedding they arrived early and got to work quickly, and kept everyone happy and calm all day long. My hair and makeup came out even better on the day of than at my trial. I was so happy with their services and the experiences. My bridesmaids and mother said it was the best professional hair/makeup experience they had ever had, and I would have to agree. Highly, highly recommended and worth every penny!

So many good things to say about Behind the Veil. Laurie, the Bridal Coordinator is fantastic to work with. She's extremely responsive, accommodating to your schedule and always there to answer any question you may have. Sarah and Cat were the stylists on my wedding day- they were both great. On top of doing such a good job on everyones hair they were both on time day of and kept us on schedule all day. Sarah was my stylist- I was struggling with how I wanted to wear my hair but Sarah really worked with me to narrow down the best look. After my first trial I felt unsure if I wanted to change the style, going in for a second trial wasn't a problem at all. I really appreciate the time she spent with me. I never felt rushed or pressured to settle on a style I wasn't sure about. If you're looking for a great hands on experience, BTV is the way to go!

Roxanne and Kaytee did my hair and makeup for my wedding as well as my bridesmaids' and mom's hair and makeup. they were wonderful and I was thrilled with the results. Everyone looked fantastic and they were sweethearts to boot - my mom decided at the last minute to get her makeup done and they added her in with no problem. They put up with all the wedding day madness and were super professional, friendly, and fun. My only wish is that they were closer to DC, or that BTV would set up a way for clients to do their trials closer to downtown DC.

I was lucky enough to work with the Behind the Veil team on my wedding day and can’t recommend them enough! I wanted to work with a company that could offer both hair and makeup services, were well reviewed (just check out the other praise that they’ve received!), and I needed to feel confident that they could complete hair and makeup for a large group of women in a short time frame. The team did all hair and makeup for our wedding day (Bride, Bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom) in under four hours, and everyone loved their look!

Behind the Veil provided hair styling and make up services for our daughter's Memorial Day weekend wedding at Celebrations at the Bay. Services were provided for the bride, bridesmaids (7) and mothers of the groom and bride. The results were amazing and the bride and all of the ladies looked stunning. The planning session with the bride and maid of honor was very helpful and really helped selecting styles and products to meet the bride's tastes and needs. They were very flexible in setting up scheduling for a large party and performed all services at the base hotel location at the Hampton Inn BWI. High quality, responsive, professional. Highly recommend.

The team at Behind the Veil goes above and beyond and does beautiful work! I loved working with Leslie and Caitlin to create my wedding day look. Leslie did my make-up perfectly and it lasted all day! Caitlin proved to be an expert at working with and not against my naturally curly hair. The team was warm, friendly, and professional and arrived early to get started. They worked efficiently but with care, and we had a great time getting ready. Maria and Kristy of Behind the Veil did a wonderful job with updos for me and seven bridesmaids, and full, beautiful curls for my mother-in-law! They arrived early, worked efficiently, and got all nine of us done with time to spare before we left for the ceremony. Everyone loved their hair and looked natural and polished (not all crunchy and covered in hairspray as some updos can be). They actually did ten updos, but my mother can be a little (okay, a lot) fussy about her hair, and ended up taking it out and doing it herself. Their styling looked wonderful, my mom just didn't provide example photos of what she liked. Maria and Kristy were consummate professionals and very graciously helped her touch up her handiwork without batting an eye. They are incredibly sweet people and can recreate virtually any look you like, especially if you provide them with a photo. They made all of us feel absolutely beautiful and I cannot recommend them highly enough!

We were planning our daughter's wedding and had booked the venue, The Chesapeake Bay Beach Club, and were looking for a hair and make-up vendor! I thought it would be terrific to have one vendor for both services!
We set up trials with two vendors from the list provided to us from the CBBC.
One was Up Do's for the I Do's and the other was Behind the Veil!
We chose Behind the Veil because they had a more intimate salon experience for us the day of the trial!
Our contact was Laurie O' Connell, super professional and very easy to contact.
Our trial really was wonderful! And they provide a Sunday trial time which is very convenient for our work schedule. Our hair stylist, Kristi and our makeup artist Leslie worked well together and were clearly very accomplished in their areas of expertise! My daughter explained what she would like, they listened, and made decisions with her consent!! Leslie even explained the make-up products she was using and told my daughter which lipsticks she could try out before the wedding so she could decide on her lip color!
I could not believe how wonderful the hair and make-up turned out.
There were no worries, Behind the Veil had us covered! When we realized we need a second hair stylist Laurie easily arranged for that, too!
The day of we all got compliments on our hair and make-up! By the way we booked early, but we're not pressured in the least!( 6 months before the wedding date!)
All in all a wonderful experience with the whole team!

Behind the Veil was an absolute joy to work with for my wedding! I'm completely obsessed with my hair and make up from my wedding. They did an amazing job with all my bridesmaids and with a few examples created amazing looks that last all night. They came to our house and got right to work on each of us and we were able to relax and talk with them about the day and what we wanted to look like. Ashley did hair for me and my matron of honor. She was punctual, efficient, and so lovely to work with, and gave us both beautiful hairstyles that were exactly what we wanted - a beautiful braided updo for me, and a sideswept vintage look for her. Working with Behind the Veil was a pleasure. My original stylist became unavailable a few months before my wedding and I found Behind the Veil through a vendor recommendation. My wedding was a destination wedding on the Eastern Shore, so finding a stylist who would travel that late in the game was not an easy feat. They were responsive, professional and so easy to work with. My stylist, Heather, did both hair and makeup which was a huge plus. My hair was styled exactly as I envisioned it and the makeup was perfection. My bridesmaids were my daughter and stepdaughter, ages 11, 9 and 8 and she made sure they all had fun, special, age appropriate hair styles for the wedding. The best part? All of our hair lasted all night even with an outdoor reception venue by the water, breeze and lots of dancing. I highly recommend Behind the Veil and could not have been happier with the way everything turned out.

I had such an amazing experience with Behind the Veil! We had Kelsey do our hair and Cait do make up and my bridesmaids and I looked absolutely fabulous. My bridesmaids were all raving about their hair and make up, we truly looked gorgeous! Both Kelsey and Cait were so sweet and talented. We had so much fun chatting and laughing with them while we got ready. They also have great taste in music and some clutch Pandora recommendations :D (hiphop BBQ!)
