So grateful I found Nicole @ Behind The Lens Maui. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, answering my endless questions prior to the ceremony and even guided me to the venue when we got lost. ABSOLUTLY AMAZING!! Nicole was so amazing I don't even know how to explain our experience with her and how happy we were with our results but I sure will try !! From the very beginning she was always there asking what exactly we wanted and what our perfect vision would be for our special day and even up to a couple days before the event she was still in contact making sure everything was fine. When our big day arrived she showed up with a beautiful smile and personality which made us super comfortable and ready to roll. We got the shots we were wanting and shots that she came up with as well and boy were we happy! Out of all the different photographers in Maui we contacted she was the most reasonable priced and her work was one of our favorites so it worked out. Once we got our photos back we sat down and started to go through them and within the first couple started crying because they were so timeless and beautiful, we felt like we were back in that special moment all over again. Once we go back to Maui we will most definitely be getting into contact with Nicole for more photos whether it be family or fun photos ! Don't look anywhere else just book her !!

Working with Nicole was a truly wonderful experience. My fitness photoshoot was exactly what I envisioned and more. Nicole was able to capture my physique against the beauty of Maui. She caught my vision and we worked really well together. Communications with her were prompt and effective throughout the process. Nicole was so friendly and professional not to mention focused on pleasing us. We had a small beach ceremony during which we didn't even know she was moving around and taking the most amazing pictures from multiple angles. After the ceremony, she found some excellent spots for more photos capturing the beautiful Maui sunset and coastline and succeeded in capturing our special occasion so very well.
I cannot say enough good things about Nicole and we highly recommend her for your special event!

Nicole from Behind the Lens Maui went beyond and above what a photographer does! She was amazing and help make our day wonderful! I can not thank her enough for all the work she did, with all the emails before the event, helping me with choosing and scheduling the wedding officiant who was also amazing and made us feel as he had known us. And her assistant Trevor Aka the octopus was just the best helping carry my bags and shoes, and the photos they took where amazing! We hope to use Nicole at Behind the Lens Maui next year for family photos. They also were very flexible due to rain and where able to change date.

Nicole & her assistant, Trevor were AWESOME!!!! Nicole was very responsive through the whole process. She was open to phone calls, emails and texts whenever I needed her. She was able to coordinate a reschedule due to storms on our original wedding day. They both made us feel like family. Nicole and her assistant Trevor were so professional and organized. We had a large party and they were able to handle all the photo requests that we asked for and then some. First timers in Maui. First timers having a professional photo session as a family of 3. First time meeting Nicole and Trevor. We love love love love our pictures. Nicole was great with our son. She made the session so much fun that he was able to give her the best smiles ever. Trevor was wonderful. From the first moment we met him and welcomed us to Maui to the end of the session he had a smile on his face, we can tell he loves his job. Each picture is just as better as the other. Behind The Lens did an awesome job taking engagement photos in Maui for me and my fiance! Nicole, the owner, was great to work with. She guided us through the entire process. Thanks to Nicole and Trevor, my husband and I have beautiful memories of our Maui wedding! What a complete joy to work with Nicole and her team. She thoughtfully engaged us from beginning to end. She understood who we were, important guests to capture, our style, and what moments and elements were most important to us. She met us in person and walked the venue with us, laughed with us through the event, and helped us to move easily through the day. On top of it all, we images were gorgeous and made available to us to download within weeks. What service! Nicole has a great eye, and did such a phenomenal job. She would quite easily be the first person I'd call to capture any important event on the island.

Absolutely fell in LOVE with Nicole! From the moment I booked her, she was on point! She was responsive and a true professional... As far as the quality of her pictures...as soon as my husband and I viewed them, I was in AWE! WOW is all I can say... AMAZING PICTURES!!!!!! Thanks to Nicole at Behind the Lens Maui, our beach wedding was captured beautifully! We hadn't met Nicole prior to our big day (our wedding coordinator lined her up for us), and we couldn't have been happier. She was professional, friendly, and attentive to our requests, but more importantly she took spectacular pictures that we will forever cherish.

At first, we were only going to have her at the actual ceremony. We ended up having her come to our reception as well, and we are so glad we did! She did a great job of staying out of the way (our reception area was rather small), while still capturing all of the beautiful photos that we could have hoped for.

We absolutely recommend Nicole - she's fantastic!

The pictures overall turned out amazing! We wanted photos to capture the vibrant colors of Maui and that is exactly what we got in the photos for our wedding day and the trash the dress photoshoot. We had several phone conferences to prepare and reiterate what we wanted. Nicole is very quick to respond if you ever have any questions! We were lucky enough to also meet before the wedding rehearsal to pick places we could take photos, which was great for saving time. We wanted creative, fun photos that caught the moments of our wedding, not posed smiles. Luckily with our group of guest, capturing raw moments during our wedding night wasn’t hard. The two assistant photographers, Ian and Trevor were a blast to work with. There were like Ninja’s, ready and able to capture anything that happened! The only downfall was at times it seemed like Nicole felt overwhelmed or unable to keep up with the group of guests we had. But, when we worked just with her and Trevor for the Trash the Dress, she was extremely fun, easy, and open to work with. Definitely a talented photographer. Although her energy didn’t quite match us, Nicole is a sweet, professional, and talented photographer to work with.

We married at Makena Cove Beach April 25 2015. That was the first time we met Nicole in person with her assistant, and she was really easy to get on with, it was as if we had known her for years! We had communicated mostly by email and had a couple of calls to clarify what we had in mind for the day. Nicole made the whole process seamless, she also acted as co-ordinator and included recommendations on beaches, the ministers, and even hair and makeup! That is not to mention the fabulous pictures she took of us on our very special day. We chose a sunset wedding and the pictures were outstanding, she captured the essence of us and gave us beautiful pictures we will treasure for years to come. If you are looking for something more than the average wedding snapshots I would highly recommend Nicole and Behind the Lens Maui.

Nicole Sanchez of Behind the Lens Maui was our photographer for our small beach wedding at Kapalua Bay, December 2014. She went far above and beyond what is expected of a professional photographer.

We live in Toronto and had no idea how to pull this off. We just wanted something small and simple. Still, there are so many things to know and do. Nicole was basically my wedding planner and helped us decide on the best beach location for a sunset ceremony. She also pulled our beach permit, sent us all of the information and links on where and with whom to obtain our marriage license and gave us info on zillion other small but important details. She even recommended wonderful places to dine after the ceremony.

Nicole quickly responds to all emails and also phoned me a few times to ask us our preferences, etc. She was a lifesaver to us and we could not have done it without her help considering how overly hectic our lives were leading up to the ceremony.

Her photography is a work of art and we love our wedding pictures. We can never thank Nicole enough for making our day absolutely perfect!

I was planning to propose to my fiance on Maui and was looking for a local photographer to capture the moment. I had the venue selected at Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm so in contacting several photographers, many of them had a travel fee. After browsing the internet and reading some reviews, I found Nicole of Behind the Lens Maui. She had very competitive prices and did not charge a travel fee. Her website is very accessible and had lots of photos for me to view. Although we were doing an surprise proposal shoot and she could have charged me like an "engagement photo" session, she was very reasonable in offering me a "family portrait" package.

We communicated via e-mail and phone for several months prior to the day. Because I live on O'ahu and had not had a chance to meet Nicole prior, she was so nice to go to the the Lavender farm to check out where I was planning to propose (the gazebo near the top of the property). I had been there before with my fiance and knew it was a special place.

The afternoon of the engagement, we got to the farm about 15-minutes prior to closing (planned that way) and Nicole and her two assistants were already in place. She was texting me her status so not to tip off my fiance. Nicole and her assistant captured the whole proposal with two different angles. Then we spent about an hour taking photos around the Lavender farm which was gorgeous!

After returning to O'ahu, Nicole was very responsive via e-mail about the photos and even paid for an 8"x10" photo. She was very prompt in sending me the photos from the engagement. They were very beautiful and she really captured the excitement and jubilation we were feeling throughout the property. I would highly recommend her as she is a great local photographer who takes the time to correspond with her clients.

We were married in October at Kapalua Bay, Maui and had the pleasure of working with Nicole & Travis. We cannot recommend them highly enough, they were both very professional and alot of fun. Our photo's look amazing and we couldn't of wished for a better day. Behind the Lens Maui has great photography packages available that are really well priced. I did alot of research before I made my decision and found Nicole to be highly recommended. I can now see why. She is fantastic and we can't thank her enough for capturing our special day.

Nicole was the BEST vendor out of anyone that we worked with for the wedding. She was very proactive, reaching out to me to make sure we had everything we needed, offering local tips and advice too. So, SO helpful when trying to plan this beach wedding from Denver! She made the whole process easier and less stressful.

I really like her process, she has us set up some photos we liked on Pintrest so we could make sure to get every shot we wanted and also she could shoot the way that we wanted, since everyone's style is a little different.

Very fair prices and great work - just look at her galleries to see for yourself. We were thrilled and ended up upgrading to more photos afterward.

She was also a LOT of fun to work with, which makes all the difference in getting good shots I think. We were relaxed and playing around in a lot of the photos. Even my husband who *hates* to have his picture taken was having fun and loved how they came out. Right on, Nicole!

Can't say enough good things, Nicole is the real deal and we would work with her again in a heart beat.

Nicole, Sue (second photographer), and Trevor (assistant) did amazing work. I looked more beautiful than I ever dreamed I would look in pictures. I am never pleased with my pictures, but I was extremely impressed at how flattering they turned out! Of course I had my hair and make up done professionally, and I remembered to maintain a good posture.
The pictures were magical and turned out better than our own, even though we had some top of the line cameras. We did some trash the dress pics in a waterfall, and they were breath taking. Strangers in passing, co-workers and friends all said "it makes me want to get married again".
They were well worth the money, and if you are debating doing extra time, do it if you can! I was relaxed the whole time, I didn't even know Sue was working when she was: she's a total ninja with great results, and Nicole, I can't say enough about how awesome she is. She went above and beyond for the sake of getting great shots, Trevor too! Not only is Nicole extremely talented, she is very punctual! in emails and showing up for the appointments.
I was going to go with someone else originally, and I could tell right away that I would have to cater to them on MY wedding day.
That being said: It is safe to go with the flow with Nicole, but have a general itinerary so she knows where to be, that's what we did and it was smooth. I was free to enjoy the day and the smiles were genuine.

PHENOMENAL - HIGHLY RECOMMEND

My husband and I couldn't have been blessed with a better photographer to capture our special day than Nicole Sanchez and her staff at Behind the Lens Maui. Nicole was matched with us through our wedding coordinator, Faye Hovey of Aloha Maui Weddings, alongside our videographer, Wangdu of Wedding Movies Maui. Nicole is, most importantly, phenomenally talented. She has a natural eye for her art that captured the most intricate moments of each stage of our wedding. She's professional, friendly, engaging, and worked with us and the rest of our wedding team to reflect our personalities in every photo. We had our initial photos to view online in about a week after our wedding day. Moreover, we were so impressed with the photos that she captured that we just couldn't pick out the amount we had paid for as part of our wedding photo package. So we decided to purchase all of them. Nicole was so communicative, expedient, and professional in making sure we received everything in a timely manner and were completely satisfied.

As far as my husband and I are concerned, Nicole Sanchez is the best. We simply cannot speak any more highly of her, and we strongly recommend her to capture your special day. You will be so glad you did because you will marvel at her work, and you will have a treasure trove of captured memories to take with you on your new journey.

My husband and I eloped to Maui alone but still wanted to capture the moment for the memories. I talked to several people via the phone months before our arrival to the island and Nicole just seemed to be the most personable. She exceeded our expectation. We decided on a sunrise wedding and I am so happy that we did because she did an amazing job of capturing the beautiful colors and landscape. She also recommended several ministers that she enjoyed observing during ceremonies and I must say, her recommendation was perfect! I really didn't think much about how special one person could make our day but our minister was awesome! Se also helped me with choosing someone for my hair and makeup. She also delivered our photos to us very promptly and seeing them made us very happy. If you choose Nicole, you won't be sorry!

Nicole shot our wedding on Feb 19, 2014 and was so amazing to work with. She s extremely personable, which made it a pleasure to shoot pictures with her, especially with our 7 year-old daughter. Nicole had many creative ideas and was also very flexible to incorporate any ideas we had. The pictures turned out beautifully AND she edited and delivered them to us by the time we were home from Hawaii. Nicole as well as her assistant were both of extreme professionalism! They managed to capture the moments of what we wanted and we couldn't be happier with our results. Nicole did a very nice job on our special day!
The only suggestion I would have for her is to redesign the website so that clients can check off the photos of their choice instead of emailing all the necessary information; which for forty-eight photos was time consuming.

Nicole and her assistant were fantastic. My wife and I had Nicole take pictures for our wedding ceremony, before, and after. There was a complication with the sun directly in the background. Nicole was able to work her magic and the pictures turned out fantastic.

We just had an amazing family trip to Maui and we have the most amazing moments captured on film taken by Nicole at Behind The Lens Maui to keep forever. She is down to earth, made us feel at ease, was awesome with our 3 year old, and she has an artistic eye for capturing the beauty of nature and the love between family. I love, love, love this woman. Our wedding would not have been the same without her and the memories she captured were priceless to us. She is very professional and an expert at her craft with regard to lighting. We got married at sunset so the timing had to be just right, she kept us on track and the stunning pictures are the result. Her request for a list of photo groups prior to our wedding kept things moving smoothly and since it was a small affair of 10, she could position us perfectly to fully utilize the setting and light. I only wish I could rate her higher then 5.0.

Nicole definitely made us feel so comfortable on our very special wedding day. She makes you feel as if she is not realty there taking photos so that you relax and have a good time and therefore she is able to get some really beautiful, natural and candid shots! She literally crawls through sand and bushes to get all the best angles. If I had to make the tough choice of choosing a wedding photographer again, it would definitely be Nicole over and over again! She is fair priced, no hidden fees and the process to view and get your photos is easy and seamless. Nicole thanks so much for making our unforgettable day truly unforgettable!!

If you are looking for a Photographer that will work with you and tailor the photos to your desire, Nicole Sanchez is your Photographer!
Nicole was very responsive to all of our requests, usually responding to our email the very same day!
On the day of the event, Nicole was fantastic…..extremely easy to work with and fun! She made the event extra special and she made US feel great! Her desire to climb way out on the rocks to take some shots made us very comfortable and excited. She put us at ease throughout the ceremony and photos after the ceremony.
As for the pictures, well, the word incredible doesn’t describe them accurately. Nicole captured the moments beautifully and her “eye” is amazing. The pictures turned out better than we could have ever imagined! She is certainly a MASTER at her craft.
Thank you Nicole - for giving us such beautiful memories that not only captured the spirit of the celebration but also the gorgeous landscape of Hawai’i.

What a blessing to have Nicole Sanchez as our wedding planner! Yes, I said planner, because she was so much more than just our photographer. Nicole knows and understands all the ins and outs of planning a Maui wedding; and was able to help us make informed decisions regarding the location, the legalities, and our services. Nicole's insight and advice was a lifesaver, and we cannot thank her enough.

As for our wedding pictures- beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Our photos are gorgeous and capture the wonderful memories from a most cherished day. Nicole was the photographer for our wedding ceremony. Our wedding planner Rhonda helped us to find her. At first we actually are a little bit worried. Now I need to say we are very fortunate to have Nicole to help us! Though later there is a slight accident that a memory card on the way to the car got lost after the wedding, we luckily only lost a few unimportant photos. For this small accident, Nicole was generous to give us 19 photos more than the budget. When we looked at the final photos, all our families love them! Nicole is highly recommended.

We got married in Maui in December 2012 and Nicole, owner of Behind the Lens Maui was our Maui Wedding Photographer. I guess everyone chooses a wedding planner first but when I checked Nicole's work, it was love at first sight so I first decided for the photographer. Nicole is so talented, professional but also very fun to be with it. Nicole started communicated with me since the very beginning on a daily bases. She promptly replied to all of my emails, advised on both shooting locations (apart from the wedding itself that took part in the morning, we also wanted to have a sunset shooting), restaurant for wedding reception. Also, she advised us not to be lazy and get up early in the morning so the ocean will have a bright blue color instead of gray color in the evening.
The pictures that came out are just breathtaking. All our friends and family are complimenting on the photos - the colors are breathtaking, poses very unique and the background is so exotic.
Originally we decided to have 2 shootings and 60 photos all together. However, after the photos came out we just could not decide as one photo was better than the other. Finally, Nicole, such a good hearted woman, offered to upgrade to all 900 photos for a very reasonable fee. Nicole is not only a God gifted photographer and easy person to work with, she has also become our a very true friend. We (me and my husband and another 4 couples) had such a good time with Nicole that we would highly recommend her to anyone. All my single friends want her to be their Maui wedding photographer! :-)

We were looking for a wedding photographer in Maui and came across a number of good re-views for Nicole Sanchez at Behind the Lens Maui Photography (behindthelensmaui.com). We emailed her along with several other photographers and we were impressed by her prompt and detailed response. We followed up with other emails and phone calls, and continued to be impressed with how personable Nicole was, so we decided to contract with her, and we are glad we did!
This was a second marriage for both of us, so we decided the wedding would be just the two of us, on the beach. We only needed a photographer for an hour, but despite the very small size of our ceremony Nicole gave as more personal attention than we could have possibly wished for.
Prior to the wedding day she helped pick out the exact location on the beach for the best pictures. For the wedding day itself Nicole was very flexible about where to take pictures. At the last minute we decided to take some pictures on the hotel property (we received permission prior) as we walked down to the beach and Nicole was willing to do whatever we wanted, as well as suggesting spots to stop and take pictures.
Our fee for Nicole’s services covered one hour of photography, but Nicole offered to give us all the time we needed with no upcharge. We kept her busy for a little more than an hour, but at no time did we ever feel rushed in the slightest. We were comfortable every moment we were with her – she was fun and relaxed.
We were pleasantly surprised when we received an email from Nicole after the wedding letting us know our proofs were ready for viewing several days ahead of when we expected them. And Nicole’s pictures were fantastic. We had a hard time deciding which ones to choose there were so many good pictures.
Nicole is not only a top notch photographer, but she is also a wonderful person and she is a true professional. We loved her and would recommend her to anyone going to Maui.

Nicole was a recommendation from Tina (our caterer/planner from Food for the Soul) and at first I was worried because her website was a bit outdated (although it's currently being revamped) but boy Nicole was so great.

She has a lot of great energy and is bubbly and just so honest and hard working. We had several conference calls before the wedding just to learn my 'photography style' and she was just having fun and she is really creative. She also brought on a second photographer for the ceremony which she basically paid for out of pocket.

We also did a trash the dress session with Nicole which was really fun and highly recommended. By the end of the session, she was just as wet as we were and her camera almost got wet trying to get the perfect shot!! It was very good time all around!

I've now gotten my photos and they are just absolutely amazing. I think nobody ever will say they got 'bad pictures' but really, Nicole does a high quality job and she got the photos to us within two weeks exactly of our wedding date. She also couriered the photos to us in Canada.

We renewed our vows in Maui in May-2012. I was at a loss in planning until I reached out to Nicole at Behind the Lens. Planning a wedding is stressful. Planning a destination wedding in Maui (a place we’ve never been) from PA was really stressful…until we found Nicole Sanchez! After doing some online research and actually speaking with a few photographers, we decided to go forward with Nicole. She made me feel so comfortable after our initial contact over the phone, she has a great personality and I could tell she had great business acumen skills as well. Some of the vendors I had contact with in Maui had no sense of urgency or did not get back to me at all, unlike Nicole. Another reason Nicole is a great choice as your photographer is because she is well respected and well connected on the island. Nicole’s professionalism and reputation really stood out as I worked with other vendors for the big day. I think that says a lot about her and I am so glad we chose her!
Nicole and I communicated over email and phone consistently months before the wedding. She went above and beyond her duty as a photographer to help me reach out to other vendors such as make up or flowers. She also helped us with our wedding location, since neither of us have ever been in Maui.
We did a 2 hour session with Nicole and that was perfect for our intimate, sunset wedding on Secret Beach. If you are not signed up for Pinterest, I highly suggest it. I got great wedding photo ideas from it and you can actually follow Behind the Lens Maui on there. I have to mention how easy it was to work with Nicole on Pinterest. We spent an evening chatting about each picture I saved on Pinterest and why I liked it. Doing this prior to the wedding ensured I got all the shots I wanted for my special day. Nicole is so organized, again, great business acumen skills.
Working with Nicole was the best part of my wedding planning. She alleviated the stress of planning by getting back to me right away with questions and concerns and she is willing to give suggestions when you can’t find all the answers. I had a local photographer look at my photos and he was impressed by the high quality of her work, so you can’t go wrong with her. Nicole is well connected, professional and treats you like a friend…above and beyond her duty as a photographer!

Nicole photographed our morning wedding ceremony on Polo Beach and we couldn't be happier with the pictures! She was creative and upbeat which made all of the posing and smiling an awesome experience. It was obvious that she genuninely cared how our special day would be remembered. Also, if I could give her 10 stars for flexibility I would because she went above and beyond to work with us on a short time frame to get photos back to us. I highly recommend Nicole!

Nicole photographed our Trash the Dress session in August while we were on honeymoon and absolutely exceeded our expectations. She is a very talented photographer, such a sweet person and her work speaks for itself. Nicole's fun approach definitely made it easy to pose in public. She was very helpful during the planning process, suggesting locations and times to capture the best Maui photography had to offer. We planned the shoot at a beautiful stretch of beach in Wailea and took some amazing pictures. We had tons of fun too! We felt at ease with her right away, and most importantly she truly captured us. She didn't just pose us and take the standard photos, she let us move and do things that were natural to us and you can see the genuine love in our photos because of this. Afterwards, her service was quick and the results were truly stunning. Not only are Nicole's images out of this world, but she is also one of the warmest kind hearted people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

I can't tell you enough wonderful things about Nicole. She made us feel so at ease with everything. She did most everything for us: Minister, appt. for our license, our lai's, The permit for the beach. It was such a peace of mind. When we got there she made sure that everything was in order. Reminding me about getting my dress pressed at the hotel. Believe me having a 6 hr time difference can mess with you. The day we got married we ran into some heavy traffic and we were late to our own wedding and we called her and not a sound of stress was in her voice. She said take your time and be careful. Then we get there and get to meet her, she hugged us and just had a great personality and going from rushing to trying to be calm, well she did it. We had the most fun, yes FUN! we laughed a lot and it was the best day of my life. Rod hates to have his picture taken and she was able to even get him to do things and I thought wow she is good! We really loved her and our pictures show it through her eyes to create our story. With out the pictures we would just have a lot of words . we will now be able to have those memories and be able to show our family and friends our day.
To Nicole, not only do you have a lot of talent but you have the heart that goes along with it. You truly made our day so much more than even we expected. Thank You!

We hired Nicole Sanchez from Behind the Lens Maui for our wedding. She met with us before hand to see our personalities and she kept in touch weekly through email just to make sure we didn't need anything. She was very friendly and very professional during the whole process while we changed the plans before and on the day of the wedding. Not only that, but she sat there and listened to me complain about things unrelated to her photography on the day of my wedding. She really took it in stride!!! She has an amazing style and creative ideas and a personality to match. Most importantly, our pictures turned out amazing!!! I would definitely hire her again and again!

I could just say the best Maui Wedding Photographer, but I want to say more. My wife planned all on her own and as always, she always pick the best of everything. I don't even know where to begin with my review of Nicole Sanchez and Behind the Lens Maui. As a bride, it is very scary to book a photographer from thousands of miles away with never having met her. Let me put all your fears aside right now! If you are considering Nicole, you have made the right decision! Book her ASAP! Not only is she professional and personable, but her work is amazing. She captured every moment of our special day so perfectly. I can't think of anything that she could have done better. We love our wedding pictures and we had a great time with Nicole! She is a complete joy to work with, she felt like part of the wedding party! I never felt like she was obvious during our ceremony. She took her pictures in a very inconspicuous manner, and never interrupted the flow of the ceremony. When taking pictures after the ceremony, she is quick and gets all the perfect shots!

Really and truly I cannot go on enough about how great Nicole is and how amazing her photos are. We are so happy we had Nicole as our photographer and highly recommend her to anyone and everyone!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated working with Nicole. Her colour photographs were vibrant and crisp, while the black and white photos captured those subtle details that one wants when viewing many wedding photos. The "trash the dress" experience was intimate and yet so much fun. It was such a great way to celebrate our wedding in beautiful Maui. Nicole's work is amazing! My husband and I were married in Maui on May 2, 2011. We were lucky enough to have Nicole as our photographer! Not only did she go above and beyond what we ever expected, she is an exceptional person! Nicole has a great personality and was easy to work with. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable getting our photos taken. Right after our wedding Nicole was in contact with us regarding our photos to answer any questions and assist us in choosing our photos. Once we viewed our photos we were so happy. The photos were beautiful. The detail and color in the photos are immaculate. You can tell that Nicole has made photography her life! Nicole is very efficient and a true professional! We could not have received better service. The quality of the photos is amazing and Nicole Sanchez was incredible to work with both up to and during the ceremony. By the time we actually met on the beach for the ceremony we felt we had made a new friend in her. By that evening she had emailed us one beautiful photo that we could send on to friends and we had all the rest within a week. We cannot thank her enough for making this such a fabulous experience for us and would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone in the future.

Maui wedding photographer, Nicole Sanchez, of Behind the Lens Maui, made us feel very comfortable before, during, and after the wedding. She provided advice on the location, explained all details of what we would get and what to expect, and maintained contact as we got closer to the date. She was extremely quick to post our wedding photos (less than 48 hours), which made us and the family happy. The photos were wonderful. I think you can see a lot of "happiness" in the photos. Nice use of lighting. Got both color and a few black and whites, which I loved. My only regret is that I didn't lose a couple more pounds before the wedding!

Nicole from Behind the Lens Maui was the best Maui Wedding Photographer anyone could ask for. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a vow renewal service on the beach with our kids and some close friends and Nicole's pictures perfectly captured our event and the feeling we wanted. She was so great and flexible to work with, she even asked us what kind of feel we were looking for in our pictures (more formal, staged, natural, fun, all the above). She made us and all our friends feel at ease so all our pictures came out looking natural and captured the spirit of each couple. The pictures at sunset of me and my husband made us look fantastic and a few are certainly tear jerkers because they are so beautiful. I liked her creativeness with the unique shots she took and how she was willing to do any special shots we requested. We recommend Nicole to anyone looking for a photographer that is personable, makes you feel at ease, is fun and creative and captures the real personalities of the folks being photographed. We found her prices very reasonable for the quality of the photos we received. We will use her services again and highly recommend her.

After searching high and low online for Maui wedding photographers, we chose Nicole Sanchez. We liked her work and found her background with surfing photography interesting. Nicole did an excellent job with our photographs. She does great candids and was everywhere she needed to be to catch some of the great pics she took. Working with Nicole was great, she was very calming when I was stressing out about timing and did what ever she could to help out even if it wasn't in her job profile. She's laid back and has got a great sense of humor- which helps when your dealing with people who aren't used to being in front of the camera. Her formal pics were great and just very sweet. Whats more important was that her photos also reflected very accurately the type of relationship I have with my husband, a quiet sense of closeness and of being best friends. Nicole's choices for black and white, sepia tone and other effects were an exciting addition to our wedding photos as well, in addition to this, she was also willing to add effects in others that we liked. She had our photos done within a few weeks (there were several hundred of them) and had them uploaded online for us, and sent on disk via mail. No mess, no fuss- Nicole gets the job done and done well. My husband and I highly recommend her as a photographer for any occasion.

Nichole was fantastic. She shot my son's wedding and did everything we asked and more. Her photos were great and everyone enjoyed her company. I cannot say enough about Nicole Sanchez from Behind the Lens Maui! From the very beginning she was great. She always got back to us straight away and never left us wondering! Nicole was happy to meet with us and go over our photo ideas and helped us get exactely what we wanted in the time frame we had! On the actual wedding day, she was more of a friend than anything! She was so cool and laid back, at the same time being professional and efficient!! The best part is after the big day was over we are able to look through her photos and relive every moment! She captured it beautifully...EVERYONE has commented on our photos and said how great they are...and Nicole is the one to thank! If you're looking for a Maui wedding photographer, I STRONGLY recommend Nicole Sanchez with Behind the Lens Maui. She was fantastic! She responded quickly to any questions or comments I had. She had excellent ideas and made me fill confident in her services from thousands of miles away. And on the wedding day...AMAZING. Her fun personality made every one feel comfortable right away. We had a few issues with other wedding pieces and she jumped right in to help make sure everything was in order and worked out for the wedding day. She went above and beyond to help. The most important part was the pictures, which are phenomenal. She didn't hesitate to get down in the sand or jump in the water to get the shot. We would throw out ideas and she would come up with some great creative ways to capture it. My husband lost his brother, and we just had to mention it and she immediately came up with a great idea to honor him in photography. Nicole Sanchez from Behind The Lens Maui was most definitely the BEST Maui wedding photographer we could of ever dreamed of, to ask to capture the romanticism and excitement that my husband I shared privately on Paipu Beach! She was exciting and very ambitious to try multiple creative ideas for my husband and I to try to help make our images look unique. After the ceremony and playing in the sun set and sand, Nicole took more time out after the photo sessions to ask what we were expecting to see from our images, what do we appreciate in pictures, like color choices, artsy focuses or whatnot. By Nicole inquiring what are likes were, made me feel confident in our choice with her as our photographer, to capture the beauty of what our ceremony meant to us, and feel proud for when the time came later to share the photos with friends and family that could not attend. The outcome of our wedding photo's was like a fairy tell book, we literally posted/printed all the fantastic images she sent to us (which was VERY fast, few business days to arrive to Oregon from Maui!) and feedback was AMAZING. You know your photographer is great when people viewing the photo's can feel the emotion that was captured in the image! Lots of my cousins and aunts shed tears when they saw some of the ceremony pix! Thanks a million Nicole! Great pricing too! We were very pleased with Nicole and her work. From talking with her on the phone before we flew to Maui through discussing our photo selections after the big event, we found Nicole very personable, friendly, and helpful. She even helped me remove my sandals when I couldn't walk in the sand to my groom!!! During the wedding, Nicole worked with all our special requests and still was able to make the most of our limited time before the sun set. After the wedding, we found her photo processing speed to be quick and efficient, and her pix to be very beautiful. Overall, we believe Behind the Lens Maui to be an excellent value and we'd recommend Nicole to others.

I loved working with Nicole Sanchez, the maui wedding photographer at Behind the Lens Maui. My husband and I both feel that she provided excellent services and pictures. Nicole really helped us many many other ways besides being our wedding photographer. For example, my husband and I were not too sure about the proper way of cutting our wedding cake however Nicole was right there and she guided us through the whole thing. My husband and I were pleased to have chosen Behind The Lens Maui as our Maui wedding photographer. Behind The Lens Maui not only provided excellent affordable photography packages, but also provided a small wedding package.. which was what my husband and I were looking for!
Behind the Lens Maui handled everything from A to Z.. from coordinating the marriage license.... down to great places to eat and sites to see during our trip to Maui. Nicole was always available to answer any questions we may have had via email, text or telephone.. and even answered questions for us before we asked!! We were linked to other vendors and were just as satisfied with their service provided. Coordinating services from afar can be a bit stressful.. but I knew that I was getting quality service if the referral came from Behind The Lens Maui!
Nicole captured such beautiful moments of my wedding that will be with me and my husband forever!
