Beautiful U Saved the Day!

Arlene and her team truly saved my wedding dress! After having a terrible experience at the bridal store that I purchased the dress from in Austin, my mom recommended that i drive to Houston to see if the amazing seamstress that cleaned her own wedding veil and added sleeves to her gown could fix it. Arlene was able to tell what was wrong with my dress just from a few pictures, and when I arrived in Houston she already had a plan! She essentially took the dress apart and rebuilt it in a matter of days since my wedding was only a week away. She also made the most beautiful straps, and provided me with handmade shape-wear to ensure the dress fit perfectly! She also built me a brand new veil and matching combs to choose from to bring the whole look together. To say Arlene saved the day is an understatement! She truly can do it all and is so kind, warm and caring while being a master seamstress! My family and I can not recommend her enough!

Cape Veil Dream

I can't say enough good things about Arlene and Beautiful U. She helped me turn my vision of a cape veil into a reality. My veil was not meant to be a cape veil so it required completely restructing the veil. Although she had never done this before with a strapless wedding dress, she was so patient with my vision and ensured it turned out 100% perfect. I couldn't be more grateful for her making my dream into a reality. She also helped with a wrinkle issue in my dress that my bridal shop couldn't be fixed. Amazing!!

Saved the Day!

Arlene saved the day! After a manufacturer error and a previous tailor’s mistakes, my wedding dress looked bad. Arlene fit me in two weeks before my wedding and completely fixed my dress. She took it apart, brainstormed on how to fix it over five fittings, and now, it looks beautiful. Arlene is an expert in what she does, and she is also the loveliest person. In fact, all the folks who work at Beautiful U are kind, professional, and fun. I drove in from Austin to work with Arlene, and it was the best wedding decision I made. I am immensely grateful to Arlene, and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Altered my grandmother's dress!

Arlene and her team did an excellent job altering my grandmother's 1960's wedding dress. I went in 3 times and they widened the bodice and added a few rows to the bottom of the dress. Best of all, it had become yellow and they made it white again! It looked like it was new again.

Also, I did not know what bra or petticoat to wear with the dress and the salon had suggestions and were able to order ones for me (I had read that most places make you come with your undergarments the first times). I tried on different veils and Arlene ended up making me a ballet cut veil. I am really glad we chose Beautiful U.

Arlene and Lee were amazing! They took my all lace ballgown and took it in 2 sizes until it fit perfectly! They even did a last minute adjustment to take the dress in another 1/2 inch the week before the wedding! Very professional and super sweet, they really care and want to make sure you look your best!

WOW!! Words cannot express how truly grateful I am to Arlene and her staff. I had a dress made for me by another seamstress, which was a nightmare. It felt terrible and looked unflattering, but I didn't know what was wrong. I didn't know if I would ever look beautiful in my wedding dress.

When I brought the dress to Arlene and her staff with only a few weeks before my wedding, they took one look and knew how to fix it. They also added custom features to make the dress flattering to my body. They went above and beyond by sewing little lace flowers to fill in the lace in specific areas that I wanted less sheer. All of this for a very fair price. Oh my goodness! They are angels, and I would give them a million stars if I could. On my wedding day, I felt confident, beautiful, and my guests raved about my dress.

I chose Beautiful U to alter my wedding dress based on the reviews I had seen online. I am so glad that I did. They did a fantastic job. I was nervous about the alterations as my dress has a lot of bead work, but I shouldn't have been. My dress fit perfectly and looked beautiful. They had it done very quickly and I couldn't complain about the price even if I wanted to. I highly recommend them, they are true professionals.

I was so nervous about choosing a place to alter my wedding dress - I went to two other tailors for consultations before deciding to go with Beautiful U, and I'm so glad I did. The staff is lovely, and they made sure my dress was exactly how I wanted it. I am very short and so my dress needed a lot of work: nipping the waist, shortening the straps, and hemming. I got a dress with very intricate beadwork, too. It came out PERFECT! I also needed a veil and waited until the last minute to try to get one. They offered to make one for me, and it was just what I needed, for a VERY decent price! You'll be in good hands with Beautiful U.

Wow! They really know what they are doing. When I first took my dress in I was skeptical and didn't know if it would ever fit right. After 2 visits, my dress fits perfectly! Arlene and her staff are always so nice and accommodating to your requests. I am very happy with how my dress looks, and I cannot wait to rock it on my big day!

Arlene and her team are a dream to work with! They make everything so easy. My dress fit perfectly! Also, they created a wonderful bustle with an extra long train - I was amazed! They pay attention to every detail and will meet with you until everything is perfect. Also I love the gown preservation! So easy to drop off my dress after the wedding and it looks amazing in the box! I would recommend Beauitful U to anyone. I have already used them again for a bridesmaid dress alteration after my wedding!

AMAZING!! That is all I have to say about the wonderful women who work at Beautiful U. I had 3 fittings with them for my wedding gown and it fit PERFECTLY on the big day. They listened to any concerns I had during the fittings and made sure I was comfortable and happy in the dress. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for brides!!

I had Beautiful U do the alterations on my wedding dress recently. Arlene is so sweet and accommodating. She really cares about her brides! I couldn't have left my dress in better hands. I also purchased my veil and headpiece there. They can keep your dress there and steam/press prior to pickup, which was very convenient for me. Alterations in general are expensive depending on how much you need done, and I certainly did shopping around prior to choosing Beautiful U. They are not the least expensive, but definitely the most reasonable for the high quality of service.

Beautiful U is a godsend!! After the store where I bought my dress botched the alterations, Beautiful U rescued me from having to buy a dress off the rack just days before my wedding. The team here is professional, kind-hearted and extremely knowledgeable about dressmaking and alterations. The seamstress took one look at my dress and knew instinctively how to fix it. I cannot tell you what a relief it was to work with someone who was experienced and capable. They replaced the cups, remade the entire bodice, created a new waistline for my dress and 48 hours later I had what felt like a custom made dress of my dreams! They have the highest rating in my book for service, professionalism, and overall quality. I would highly recommend that any bride go here and nowhere else!

I had such a great experience at Beautiful U! Arlene was incredibly nice and the work they did on my dress made it fit perfectly on my big day! Their prices were very reasonable compared to other shops and they allowed me to come in for several fittings without extra charge to make sure everything was perfect. I lost weight right before the wedding and they were able to take my dress in 2 inches the week before. I felt very confident that they would take good care of my dress and make it look perfect! Highly recommended!

I was referred to Beautiful U Bridal by the owner of the bridal boutique where I bought my wedding dress. The shop was about to close and could not longer do my alterations. To say I was devastated would be an understatement. Before I went to Beautiful U Bridal for my alterations, I checked reviews on the shop but they were mixed, even though the lady that referred them to me spoke highly of them. I did not have much time to search for another alterations vendor so I decided to go on faith. I'm so glad that I went to to Beautiful U Bridal because they were so professional and friendly, and they know what they are doing. Arlene was the best. Initially, Lee started my alterations, and later, Arlene took over, and made great suggestions to make my dress even more perfect than it already was. She was very patient with me as I had 5 fittings, and I could see she also wanted the dress to fit perfectly and for me to very satisfied with my dress. In addition, she loaned me a sash that I had tried during one of my fittings to use on my wedding day. I could not believe she actually let me, a complete stranger, borrow it!! That certainly made my day. Arlene and her team certainly went above and beyond for me and I will be eternally grateful to them. I recommend them to any bride looking for great customer service, and quality service.

I was able to take my wedding dress here to get it not only altered- but widen the straps, make a belt, bustle, and they even sewed my headband! they gave us the best one on one attention and transformed my dress into blah... to FABULOUS!!! they were able to personalize my dress just for me- put in boobie cups, pressed it, and made it for easy take off and to put on with extra buttons! then after my bridal portraits they even cleaned, pressed, and put weights at the bottom of my dress for free! (because we had issues with it flipping up on the ends) they were the best team there and did beautiful work- all for a wonderfully fair price too!
they even made one of my bridesmaids (who realized she was pregnant) a corset- lace up back so that we didnt have to buy her another dress!
LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!! the best of the best!

I purchased my wedding dress at mia bridals from a sample sale. the size was way too large but arlene at beautiful made it perfect and it fit like a glove!! i highly recommend them!

Arlene made my veil for my wedding day - floor length with lace for approx. $200. The veils I was looking at to order were in the $700 to $800 range. Not only was my veil extremely affordable, but she did an excellent job. She created a beautiful veil and was patient with my little changes I wanted made. She was committed to making it perfect for me which she did!

Arlene and her crew are great! I had a challenging dress to say the least, and while it took multiple fittings to get it just right, they worked every trick they knew and it fit PERFECTLY. I moved and danced all night comfortably and without having to constantly pull my dress up (and it was a HEAVY dress). The shop is not fancy, but the service you will get is wonderful, and they truly take an interest in you as a person and as a bride. Eloisa is amazing and Beverly is always so friendly and helpful. All this at a really reasonable price. Loved them and would highly recommend them.

I had to receive major alterations on an Amsale gown, and was amazed at the work thta Beautiful U did. I had my dress in plenty of time for the wedding, even after deciding I wanted to add extra bustles to the back of the dress. I was so pleased and I would reccomend them to any bride.

Beautiful U provided alterations for my entire wedding party. This shop came recommended to me by a reputable dress shop, but they warned me ahead of time that it doesn't look like much. I was a little sceptical walking up, but the ladies here are fabulous! Never judge a book by it's cover....and to be quite honest, they're altering dresses so they really shouldn't spend much on a facility.

These ladies were really good at altering the intricacies of my dress and creating a beautiful bustle. They also did a great job of scaling down my flower girl dresses that came in 2 sizes too big. I would highly recommend going here.

Beautiful U did my alterations for my wedding dress. They did a fabulous job, but I thought were very expensive! I had heard from many friends they were reasonable but my alterations were $450 for the hem, bustle, putting cups in the top of the dress and a couple other minor adjustments. Maybe this is just what it costs for alterations, but it really seemed like a lot to me. Don't get me wrong, they did a phenominal job with the alterations, my dress looked amazing on me they just seemed expensive, but I dont have anything to compare to so maybe that is the norm with wedding alterations.

Beautiful U does beautiful alternations. The owner really knows her stuff! The exterior/interior of her shop isnt anything special, but dont let that disuade you from coming. Her work is fabulous! And the turnaround was quick!

I was only in Houston for 3 wks before my wedding but Beautiful U Bridal was able to alter my dress in a short amount of time to minimize the 36D-like bust of my gown to fit my 30A frame like a glove. They were also able to customize a simple veil (~$40) that matched my dress perfectly. Arlene is just a doll and everyone else on her staff are just as friendly and genuine.

I used Beautiful U for alterations. I was a bit skeptical due to some conflicting reviews that I had read, but ended up going with them anyway. I had my first appointment about 6 weeks before the wedding and they finished all the alterations without a problem in a timely fashion. I had them take in some on the sides of the bodice, hem the dress, add cups in the bodice, and add a bustle. The dress fit well and the bustle looked great. The one complaint I had was that my dress had buttons running down the back of the dress down to the train and during alterations something happened where they no longer went straight down my back. It was a minor issue and I'm sure nobody noticed, but it was something that probably should have been corrected.

I had been going to Arlene for alterations for a couple of years after a friend recommended me to her, so it was only natural for me to go here to have my dress fitted and bustled. Arlene and her crew are so awesome. My dress fit perfectly and the work was amazing-and done in such a short amount of time! Arlene also did my birdcage veil which was beautiful.
I wouldn't trust anyone else with my gown and of course, I'll still continue to keep going to Arlene to have my dresses altered.

I loved my dress! I tried on hundreds of dresses, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So, I drew a picture and took it to Beautiful U. My dress was fantastic! They needed a lot of time between fittings, and I noticed things (like a sewn-in cup showing through the modesty piece) that needed to be fixed, but they were able to make small changes quickly, and beautifully take my dress in 3 times up until 5 days before the wedding.
