I grew up in Waterford and never knew the Bear Mountain Inn hosted weddings, so when we went for a tour, we parked the car, and I knew immediately how special this place was. BMI is a hidden gem of a place. The grounds are beautiful (the view of Bear Pond, the large lawn, the surrounding trees, Bear Mountain on your left, recently renovated inn, everything!) and the staff is incredible! Cassie was always very quick to respond to all of my emails. I wasn't worried once I got on site the Friday before. And that's HUGE. Everyone was welcoming and so pleasant! Cassie, Jessica, Jericha, the bartenders, etc. I HIGHLY recommend hosting your wedding with BMI. It was GORGEOUS but I also felt extremely supported by the staff. The breakfast each morning was so delicious and all the rooms have a level of warmth and coziness. We stayed in the Sugar Maple Cottage which was SO great to be able to sneak away for a moment to collect ourselves from the chaos that comes with weddings! I can't rave about BMI enough. We had our ceremony at the overlook, then we had dinner in the tent, and then the reception in the barn. It was so cool to have a venue with multiple settings so our guests didn't feel stuck in one room the entire day! Cassie, Jessica, Jericha, THANK YOU. From the bottom of our hearts! The day was PERFECT and we could not be happier. -

My husband and I got married at Bear Mountain Inn this past September, and it was truly the most magical weekend. From the moment we first visited, we knew this was the place - we were blown away by the stunning lake views and were especially drawn in by the cozy inn and barn. We stayed in the cutest little cabin separate from the main inn and our dog was able to stay with us!
The owners, Nick and Jessica, are the nicest couple ever and Nick cooks one of the best briskets in New England. Jessica was amazing from start to finish - organized, kind, and so thoughtful. She made the entire planning process easy and enjoyable. When rain changed our outdoor ceremony plans, Jessica and the staff pivoted seamlessly and created the most beautiful ceremony inside the barn. It turned out even more romantic and special than we could have imagined! The staff were just as wonderful. They made sure everything ran perfectly and that our guests felt completely cared for and at home all weekend. As an anxious bride, I was so incredibly grateful for and impressed by their warmth and professionalism.
We left Bear Mountain Inn with full hearts and we’re so grateful to the Orgos and their team for making our day perfect in every way! If you’re looking for a beautiful setting, amazing service, and people who genuinely want your day to be magical, this is the place. We can’t recommend it highly enough! -

Best venue OF ALL TIME. Exceeded our (high) expectations!
My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of getting married at Bear Mountain Inn in September 2024, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms—truly treated like family by the incredible owners and staff. Their warmth, kindness, and attention to detail made our wedding weekend nothing short of magical. One of the things we loved most was being able to turn our wedding into a full weekend experience, allowing us to relax, soak in every moment, and celebrate with our closest family and friends. The inn itself is breathtaking—set against the stunning backdrop of Maine's best nature, providing the perfect setting for both our ceremony and reception. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, catering to our every need with genuine care. Other venues we looked at felt like machines churning out weddings - BMI is different. They were fully invested in our wedding experience. And the best part? We got to include our 2 dogs in the festivities! This was so important to us, and Bear Mountain Inn made it so easy and special to have them be a part of our big day. If you are looking for a venue that is beautiful, genuine, welcoming, and filled with heart, Bear Mountain Inn is the place. We are forever grateful for the memories we made here and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for the perfect wedding venue. We live out of state and booked Bear Mountain site unseen (we did a FaceTime tour). It was the best decision. When we showed up we were star struck by its beauty of the inn and staff. The wedding was better than anything I could imagine. The staff thought of everything from flowers for the rehearsal to laminating our table numbers. Also the food was 12/10 amazing!!!!!! The staff even went out of their way to make sure we had one of dessert in our room waiting for us after the wedding. I loved how our wedding party and family were all able to stay at the inn and spend the weekend together not just the day. -

The best day ever
We are a couple who loves the outdoors and are out of place in the foothills of New York-achussetts (CT). After getting engaged while hiking in the White Mountains, we knew we would have to travel to find an altar that would provide the proper backdrop. We scoured the internet for venues in NH, VT or ME that offered a rustic barn combined with the natural beauty we were looking for. We knew we had found IT as soon as we stumbled across Bear Mtn Inn & Barn.
We quickly booked a weekend trip up to tour the venue – which was more a convenient excuse for a getaway than anything, we were already dead set on booking. From the moment we stepped foot on property we fell in love with the place. What we didn’t anticipate was falling in love with all the people who work so hard to make it the special place that it is. Jessica, Nick and their entire team, both at the Inn and with MANE catering, worked closely with us every step of the way to make our ‘unconventional’ dream wedding become a reality. Nick was all-in when we expressed our interest in diverting from the traditional coursed sit-down meal approach, he put his Chef hat on and worked tirelessly to bring to life and perfectly execute a variety of stations and passed courses. Every guest we’ve talked to is still raving about the food from our big day. His passion for his craft was evident from our first phone call and it certainly translates through his food. We cannot possibly say enough nice things or overstate Jessica’s role in making our wedding the best weekend of our lives. A blizzard struck during the previously alluded to getaway we took to the Inn, and out of that we had the pleasure of spending extra time one-on-one with Jessica and their beautiful daughters. We built a special bond with her and it meant the world to us when she stayed on as our day-of wedding coordinator. She is incredibly laid back and a true professional, her running the show made the whole weekend as stress free as possible.
One of the greatest perks of having our wedding at Bear Mtn was spending the weekend on property with our closest family, friends, and most importantly our pup enjoying quality time in a serene and secluded setting. It was truly special. We opted to stay on property for the Rehearsal dinner + Welcome party and commissioned MANE catering for a very casual cookout. It was the perfect way to get extra face time with family and friends ahead of the big day.
Finally, the day itself. We got up before the sun and enjoyed a quiet walk around the property’s trails with our pup, Hayden, prior to heading our separate ways to prepare for meeting back at the altar. The bride went to the Post + Beam House, where all her girls stayed, to get dolled up for the day. They enjoyed mimosas and breakfast while getting their hair and make-up done. The groom had his barber set up a pop-up shop in the bar where he and all the guys received fresh cuts and clean shaves. During downtime the guys and family members went fishing, took the children out on Bear pond in kayaks and sat around the many fire pits.
The ceremony itself could not have gone better or been more beautiful. From the groom being walked down the aisle by Hayden - accompanied by ‘The Imperial March’, to our nephews running the rings down the aisle to hug their uncle, to the bride coming down with her dad and letting out a “WOOOO!” to break the ice and get the crowd going. It was magical from start to finish and there were some serious waterworks… Namely the groom and the father of the bride. Immediately following the “I do’s” and the “you may now kiss the bride” we retreated to our private cottage for 10 minutes to ourselves to let our brand new marriage sink in. Jessica had a beautiful arrangement of the cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres and our signature cocktails waiting for us.
Following photos – that came out incredible thanks to the astonishingly gorgeous backgrounds – we and our wedding party made our individual entrances into the barn for the reception, knocked out the first dance(s), the speeches and then the party really began. It was a night filled with non-stop dancing, no shortage of good food or drinks and everything that we had hoped for.
We are eternally grateful we found Bear Mtn and for everything it has become for us. It will always hold a special place in our hearts and we look forward to celebrating multiple anniversaries there and eventually sharing the property with our kids for many years to come. THANK YOU to Nick, Jessica and the entire Bear Mtn family for making our day more incredible than we ever could have imagined.
So if you’re looking to get married in the Maine area do yourselves a favor, put Bear Mtn Inn & Barn on your shortlist, book a trip to stay with them for a couple nights and don’t look back.

We had our wedding at Bear Mountain Inn Barn and couldn't have been happier with our choice! Jerica and her team were prompt, personable, and down-to-earth in all of our communications leading up to the big day. They made us feel like old friends helping to plan the event. The venue itself has a wonderful outdoorsy, clean, summer camp vibe that perfectly matched what we envisioned. Jerica was there every step of the way, making sure we felt supported. Jessica and Nick were so involved and helpful, they truly made our wedding everything we imagined and more! Having the whole property to ourselves all weekend with our friends and family was the best decision we made. It allowed everyone to relax and gave a private summer camp feel that set the perfect tone. If you're looking for a venue where you feel taken care of by staff who become like friends, we can't recommend Bear Mountain highly enough!

Best Decision We Could Have Made
This review is a long time coming. Partially because I can't believe our special weekend is over (we got married 10/07/23), but also because I needed to figure out how to sum up the experience and utter bliss Jess, Nick, and the whole Bear Mountain Crew provided. First I would like to say, my husband and I decided to have an out of state wedding which required so much research but when we first signed our contract with the prior owners Brian and Julie, we simply couldn't believe the space. It had everything we could have ever imagined. A beautiful historic barn, incredible views, a shimmering lake, home baked welcome cookies, it was cozy and charming and somehow felt like home from the first moment we stepped foot on the property. When the inn was sold, to be honest at first we were extremely nervous. Would it feel the same? Would we be able to still execute the way we intended? So many questions, especially for an out of state wedding. From the jump, Jess and Nick as well as Cassie (the inn's wedding coordinator) made all of our worries melt away. The lengths they went to ensure we felt supported was truly incredible. The most amazing thing is, they did this from the bottom of their hearts, it surpassed any form of fleeting customer service. They treated us like family, and with how many weddings and events they have in a year, it is truly incredible they always went the extra yard, even when it wasn't anticipated or expected. They exceeded the contractural promises, and having Nick as our caterer for some of our events (rehearsal dinner and brunch) it made it even more special. We had rain the morning of our wedding, and up until that point I convinced myself weather was not going to be a thing. Even with this scenic change, they did an immaculate job transforming the spaces to fit our needs and the flow we were looking for, and honestly it was more beautiful than we could have wished for. I was so nervous with the rain, as we had a lot of guests and had a separate tent for dinner, the staff was even outside in the rain with umbrellas for anyone moving from the barn to the tent. Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, even with the rain, and that is a direct result of the care and dedication of Jess and Nick and the standard/expectation they uphold. If you have the opportunity, I highly suggest a holiday weekend, especially if it is an out of state wedding. The day after the wedding we were able to soak it all in and it will forever go down in our book as the best way to have everyone we love together in an intimate space since the whole inn was just ours, moments frozen in time. We are forever grateful for Jess and Nick and the whole Bear Mountain team. I could go on forever about the special little shining moments that made it magical. Now that we are married, we have a place that will forever be a part of our story that we can visit and one day (hopefully haha) show our kids. Thank you will never be enough, and I believe this was the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding. -

We are so happy that we chose to have our Wedding Weekend at Bear Mountain Inn. We had a 75 person wedding on the lawn and a 25 person rehearsal dinner in the barn- both events were stunning and our guests raved about the setting, the food and friendly service.
The owners are wonderful people and the coordinator Cassie made sure ever detail was executed to perfection & on time. While seamlessly checking in with us and our guests to ensure we were taken care of, smiling and had full glasses.
The Inn itself is so lovely and felt like home for the weekend, the breakfast is incredible. We are so happy we chose a venue that we can come back to for years to come as we celebrate anniversaries/special occasions.

Bear Mountain Inn - Best Wedding Venue EVER
Bear Mountain Inn + Barn in Waterford, ME is easily the best wedding venue to get married at! From the beautiful ceremony backdrop to the incredible barn and everything in between. Nick and Jessica made our families feel at home the entire weekend staying at the inn with THE BEST BREAKFAST every morning. The inn itself has so many beautiful rooms for your friends and family to stay in during your wedding weekend. Cassie, as the wedding coordinator, did an absolutely incredible job creating the wedding of our dreams. We did not hire a wedding planner, and Cassie made sure to have herself available via email with all of our questions and concerns being answered far before our wedding date. She made sure that someone was on site when all of our rentals were being delivered, so when we arrived everything was already in place.
On our wedding day, we were back and forth with the weather and actually moved all of the chairs inside to get married in the barn (which was a beautiful set up). However, once our guests had moved inside, the clouds started to move away, and we decided (about 1 minute before we were supposed to start the ceremony) that we wanted to do it outside. Instead of moving all of the chairs, Cassie ushered all of our 180 guests outside and they stood as they watched us get married in the sun. It was an amazing ceremony and our guests still talk about how exciting it was run outside to celebrate us. Our number of guests was too large to fit in the barn, so we rented a tent for dinner and then did the dancing portion in the barn. Cassie helped everything flow flawlessly throughout the entire night.
Bear Mountain is the type of venue that makes you feel like family and so so loved. You are their top priority during your wedding weekend and they bend over backwards to give you what you ask for and make your wedding dreams come true. I truly could not have picked a better venue. We are excited to come back and visit over and over again! WE LOVE YOU BEAR MOUNTAIN INN!! Amazing vibes all around. -

My husband (!!!) and I just got married at the Bear Mountain Inn this past weekend and it was literally the most incredible wedding in the world. Nick and Jessica go above and beyond for their couples and Cassie is an incredible day of coordinator that makes you feel like you're at home on your big day.
It was pouring rain all day on Saturday and the whole BMI team made our day so special. We decided early on to have our ceremony in the beautiful barn on site and it was literally the most beautiful set up I've ever seen at a wedding. We couldn't get over how beautiful everything looked. It is such an intimate and beautiful memory that is burned in our brains for life. Our wedding was for about 160ish people so we rented a tent to do our reception outside - this couldn't have been an easier process and the tent looked like a fairy tale out on the yard.
When I tell you think is the most incredible wedding venue on the face of the Earth we so mean it. Every single moment our wedding was so perfect and it was really was made possible by the team at the Bear Mountain Inn.
Nick, Jessica and Cassie + team we LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH and legit cannot wait to come back in the winter to hang out and party with you guys. Thank you SO much for everything you did for us WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!

Rooms: Literally the cleanest, most beautiful rooms I've stay at away from home. Every single one of our guests were blown away by the Inn.
Nearby activities: Lake life, quaint restaurants and beautiful scenery!
Noteworthy details: The property the Bear Mountain Inn sits on is a literal dream. It was foggy and raining on our wedding day and it really looked like something out of a movie like OMG take me back!!! -

Yes, the grounds, inn, barn are incredible BUT what made this an extra special experience was having the owners Julie and Brian and Wedding planner Cassie there to help with all things wedding and welcome you as if you were family. Dream wedding
We got married at Bear Mountain Inn + Barn in July of 2022 and our wedding was an absolute dream. We planned our wedding from out of state and in 6 months but Brian, Julie and Cassie were so helpful along the way. When ever we had any questions or needed a recommendation for a vendor, they were always happy to help! They made sure our wedding day was special and went smoothly. The venue is beautiful, the views are just breathtaking and the Inn is so charming and comfy (we can’t wait to go back!). Beautiful Venue and a Relaxing Place to Stay
Bear Mountain is a really special venue! Cassie, Julie, Brian, and the whole staff will make you feel so at home and supported. Our wedding parties and immediate families stayed with us at the Inn and everyone agreed it was the perfect getaway. Between boating on the lake, sitting around the fire, and hot-tubbing, we all managed to relax and enjoy ourselves amidst all the excitement and last-minute to-do's. Our guests were wowed by the grounds and the gorgeous barn, with many approaching us after to tell us, "We get why you picked this place." I highly recommend Bear Mountain! -

The weather did not cooperate for our outdoor ceremony but the team was able to pivot quickly and it was beautiful. Absolutely the BEST
We couldn't have picked a better place for our wedding on October 30th. Cassie, Brian & Julie are just amazing and went above and beyond to make our weekend one for the books. The place is absolutely stunning and the barn was the perfect setting for our woodsy-chic wedding. The weather didn't cooperate on the day of but didn't even notice. Our guests raved about BMI and Brian and Julie's hospitality all weekend (especially the cozy and delicious daily breakfast). Cassie made sure we didn't have to think about a single detail and kept everything running perfectly smoothly. She even found my phone in the rain!

This venue was everything we could've ever asked for. Aesthetically, it is stunning - our ceremony was on a beautiful patio overlooking the lake, and the reception was in the barn that keeps its rustic charm while having modern amenities (heat pumps in particular, to keep warm on cold autumn nights or cool for summer weddings!). Our bridal party stayed at the inn for the weekend and they have not stopped raving about the stay. Each room is unique and comfortable, and the included breakfast is amazing. The best part of the experience was the team. We had to postpone our wedding due to Covid and they could not have been more kind and understanding, not only helping us find a new date but in fact opening up their wedding season earlier than usual. The owners, Brian and Julie, have done a superb job at making you feel at home while at the Inn. It's no surprise that in some of our other visits, there have been numerous couples visiting who had previously married there, as they truly make it feel like a big family. The wedding coordinator, Cassie, was thoughtful and attentive throughout the entire process, and along with Josh were instrumental in keeping things organized and stress-free for us on our big day. We cannot recommend them enough!

Bear Mountain Inn was the only venue that my husband and I looked at, and from the moment we saw it we knew it was the perfect venue for us! The views are stunning, and the inn has so much charm. Bear Mountain Inn will continue to be one of our most favorite places. We knew during our 1st visit that BMI was the perfect place for us to get married. We loved the fact it was pet friendly, had gorgeous decor and that our friends and family were able to stay on site. Yes the property wowed us but the service and the team at Bear Mountain Inn are EXCEPTIONAL. Julie, Brian & Cassie connected with us several times this year to coordinate our wedding during a very tough time. We had to alter plans and they were so accommodating to our needs and very understanding. They all are so friendly and so on point with details and amazing customer service. Our guests also raved about the rooms, the breakfast and the experience at BMI. We all are “lifers” at BMI and can’t wait to visit at least once a year and make more great memories. Eric and I can’t thank Julie, Brian & Cassie enough for making our dream wedding come true! We highly recommend Bear Mountain Inn to other couples! -

Best Maine Wedding Venue!!!
Bear Mountain Inn is the most amazing venue! The owners are incredible, the Inn is beautiful, and their wedding coordinator is so great to work with! You won’t be disappointed choosing to get married here! My husband and I had the most amazing wedding here and will cherish the memories for the rest of our lives! Our guests still keep talking about how amazing the Venue was! It rained during our ceremony time, so we had our ceremony in the Barn and it was just perfect! If you are lucky enough to have found this magical, gem of a place know that you will be taken care of, listened to, and most importantly, you will have the wedding day of your dreams. Julie & Brian are two of the loveliest, hardest-working humans we have ever met. From the moment you step on the property at Bear Mountain Inn you can feel the immense amount of love they pour into every minute detail. Cassie - our wedding coordinator - was a DREAM, handling everything leading up to our wedding, to the big day itself, making everything seamless. I was a COVID bride who had intentions of having a 200 person wedding which eventually turned into an intimate 40 something person celebration. Wedding planning is stressful enough, so when the pandemic hit I had all the questions every other Bride had - what will happen to our day? Will this still be happening? How will our venue react and how do we navigate from here? It took one phone call with Julie & Brian to realize we had hit the jackpot. They heard all our concerns, validated our feelings, and made sure we knew they were on our side to work with and be as flexible as possible. You can't imagine the relief we felt after that call knowing no matter what we decided to do, they would work with us so we could have the day we wanted. And let me tell you, we had the most magical wedding WEEKEND (another huge reason we chose BMI - it is very fun to stay/party with your closest people who are all staying at the same location). I can't stop reveling in our day and all the people who made it possible. If you're looking to get married at a place your guests won't stop talking about, a place that has beautiful views, a place where you can bring your imagination to life, and a place that is run by thoughtful, caring hosts - look no further. All our love to BMI - we look forward to many more visits in the future -

An amazing wedding experience!
Bear Mountain Inn is such a special place. My husband and I were lucky enough to have a wedding here on October 10th and it can only be described as magical. Cassie, Julie, and Brian became fast friends and we look forward to staying in touch for many years to come. Our guests said it was the most beautiful venue they’ve ever been to and the experience is luxurious. No detail is spared! The rooms are incredibly comfortable and lavish. The barn is gorgeous with chandelier details and a perfect layout for dinner and dancing. The grounds are peaceful and we even heard the most beautiful bird calls during our vows.
It’s an experience we’ll cherish forever. Their team of vendors is five stars and includes the best that Maine has to offer. We would book them again in a heartbeat and are already planning a weekend trip back! -

Bear Mountain Inn was the absolutely best decision we made when it came to our wedding day. The entire venue is BEAUTIFUL. The outdoor space is the perfect backdrop for the wedding pictures (that speaks for itself) - a total fairytale setting. The barn is equally as beautiful. My friends and family could not stop talking about all the elegant details.
The venue is beautiful, but that is not even the best part. When you book Bear Mountain Inn as a wedding venue, you are booking not just a wedding venue but a once in a lifetime experience. You get to spend a weekend (not just your wedding day) with your friends and family in the most beautiful and relaxing location you can imagine. How often do you get to spend a weekend with all your family and best friends in the same place? Julie and Brian (owners of the Inn) and the entire crew at Bear Mountain Inn truly make you feel like you are staying in a home away from home. I am still dreaming about the delicious homemade breakfast we enjoyed every morning. Julie, Brian, and Bear Mountain Inn Crew (a special shout out to Jamie and Cassie) were so kind and attentive to every detail. My friends and family are still talking about how much they loved spending time with this group. We didn't worry about anything for the entire weekend and we owe that the the people that come with the wedding package. Seriously, don't think twice about it and book Bear Mountain Inn. You WILL NOT regret it. -

Brian, Julie, Cassie, and the entire Bear Mountain Inn (BMI) crew are all incredible! First of all, the inn itself is one of the nicest places to stay in western Maine. The renovated rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast and amenities are top notch. We filled practically every open bed in the inn the weekend of our wedding, and they were able to provide the service and care as if there were only a handful of people staying.
Second, the property is amazing with beautiful views, access to the lake, multiple fire pits, and plenty of open space to play games. The trails on the property are isolated and offer a wonderfully quick sense of escape. The updated barn has efficient heat pumps and a new level floor, yet it still feels rusticly classic.
Third, the organization of our wedding was magical. Nearly everything was taken care of for us which allowed us to spend the maximum amount of time with our guests. The tables and table settings were all set up and taken down for us. We only had to deal with the centerpieces and any added decor. They were flexible and accommodating with all of our ideas that sprang to mind. Where we were clueless, they offered ideas and suggestions based on their experience and knowledge. They were able to make everything possible leading up to the wedding, the wedding weekend, and the wedding day. For example, on our wedding day we had several musical requirements (bagpiper as guests arrived, ceremony musicians, cocktail musicians, and reception musicians). BMI was completely accommodating and flexible when it came to running electricity to several different sites on the property. Additionally, we had our rehearsal dinner at BMI since we wanted to make our wedding a true getaway for our guests. Our rehearsal dinner was provided by a food truck and BMI welcomed the idea with enthusiasm.
In the end, I can not imagine any other venue that would provide the quality and care for our wedding weekend. Our 135 wedding guests still compliment us on how incredible our August wedding was and we know BMI had a large part of making it all happen. We are thankful for the amount of work BMI took on which allowed us to enjoy and absorb every moment. We are forever grateful for Brian, Julie, Cassie, and the BMI crew, and will return to stay as often as possible to reminisce the magic of our wedding weekend.

The most AMAZING place!
I don't have all of the words to truly describe how magical it was to be married at Bear Mountain Inn. Brian and Julie are some of the warmest, friendliest, inviting people I have ever met and it has been such a pleasure working with them. They made all of our family and friends that stayed there feel like they were at home. 2 months later and the thing that people are still talking about is how much they loved Brian and Julie and they can't wait to go back and visit them (and their pups). They have put so much work into this venue, pictures don't even begin to do it justice. I kind of want to move in (it is that great). Not only is it one of the most stunning Inn's I have ever seen, this place is cozy, relaxing and everything you would want a wedding venue/getaway spot to be. I can't say enough good things about this place. Do yourself a favor and book a tour and then immediately book this place as your wedding venue. We just adore you, Brian and Julie! Cassie (wedding coordinator) patiently answered all our crazy questions, walked us through planning our big day and made the big day completely relaxing for us and the family we had staying at the Inn. Accommodations are beautiful, the staff is friendly and fun. Our number one goal for our wedding was to create an atmosphere that felt like an extension of our home to our family and friends. Where to begin? Bear Mountain Inn was a picture perfect place for our wedding. I knew I wanted our wedding to be in a barn and had looked at a few other venues before visiting Bear Mountain. There are many beautiful barns in Maine, but none with the overall package that Bear Mountain provides. From the moment I drove onto the property I knew this was the place. Seeing the chandeliers in the barn, touring the inn, and meeting the owners just sealed the deal. I was sold in 15 minutes, how could I say no to this gorgeous property? The property is a perfect mixture of rustic, modern, and elegant.
Along the way, Cassie, the wedding coordinator, went above and beyond to answer all my planning questions. Julie and Brian treated everyone like family and were present the whole weekend to make sure everything went perfectly. Our wedding was literally a dream come true and it all has to do with Bear Mountain Inn.
We had the whole property for 2 nights which made it incredible to have our wedding party and immediate family there with us through it all. Bear Mountain Inn has many beautiful places for getting ready, taking pictures, and spending time with loved ones. More importantly, the customer service and hospitality made us feel like we were in a fairytale.
Our family and friends are still talking about how amazing our wedding was. We had people tell us that have been to numerous weddings that this was the best wedding they have ever been to, even better than their own! I cannot recommend this venue enough. I could go on and on.... The cost is well worth it, as your wedding day memories are priceless. You will not be disappointed. All the little details do not matter so much, but people will certainly remember the venue and the service. I only wish we could relive it all again as it truly was a magical experience at Bear Mountain Inn! -

Phenomenal Venue & Experience!
Bear Mountain Inn was recommended to us by a family friend. When we made contact, we were immediately struck by Cassie’s energy. During our visit, Brian’s and Julie’s enthusiasm was intoxicating. They gave us a tour, even though every single room was torn apart (many down to beams), but we were blown away by their warmth, and vision for each room. From their vision boards it was obvious that the Bear Mountain Inn was going to be spectacular- and we enjoyed being there so much that we didn’t want to leave, even though there was nowhere for us to stay! Bear Mountain Inn brought together all the elements we love- from the water, to the woods, the mountains and the glorious rustic chic decor.
When it came down to the final decision, the competition was no match for the opportunity for us to stay at such a beautiful venue for a full weekend with wonderful people. After booking so early (nearly two years out!) we still found that at every contact point BMI was always ready and available to answer our questions, even odd and specific ones. From how many chairs per row, to specific decor requests, they not only responded quickly and professionally, they managed to convey a care and attention to detail well in advance that rose above and beyond what we expected. They often remembered things we had forgotten about our own wedding. As we neared the big day, Cassie impressed us with her organization and eye for detail, helping us through elements that even our dedicated planning had missed.
We were surprised and impressed by how involved Brian and Julie are in every aspect of the operation- from maintaining the grounds, to setting up spaces, to breakfast, and personal greetings at every turn (for us and every single guest staying on-site!). Brian and Julie are warm, wonderful, and interesting people you will be happy to stay with.
The venue itself is incomparable. The rooms are gorgeous, charming, and beautifully appointed. The Barn is beautiful and an amazing canvas with which to work. The chandeliers and lights are exceptional and a beloved detail of ours. The layout and design of the Inn is conducive to everything we wanted, from ceremony, to cocktail hour to reception, to happy-exhausted after-party. Each space is so distinct that you turn a corner or go through a door and enter another world, as equipped and comfortable as the one you just left.
Breakfasts on site: Amazing, unique, made to order, personal requests honored (even if it’s a whole bowl of whipped cream for a demanding toddler)! It would be difficult to overstate the dining experience at Bear Mountain Inn.
The Grounds: The trails, jetty, dock, lake, hammocks, chairs, fields, deck, patio, and multiple fireplaces/s’mores stations are readily accessible, wonderful spots to relax, take pictures, or play games. We were able to make use of most of these features during our stay, including jumping in the lake in our wedding attire. The day after our wedding, once friends and family left, we made use of the massage cottage on site. Having this available was an incredible bonus, allowing us to completely unwind after days of activity.
The Big Weekend- From helping us unload our cars the moment we arrived, to their personal sendoff, Brian, Julie, and Cassie helped every step of the way. Cleanup after the event was rapid and complete; we had brought an incredible amount of décor to break down but found everything had been boxed up for easy loading following the reception. The efficiency and experience of the staff prevented me from worrying about a thing on the big day- ensuring that we ate, keeping us to time, and presenting us with our first drinks after we tied the knot. (Side note- OH MY GOODNESS, the bartenders made our signature cocktails PERFECTLY!) While prepping for the ceremony, my husband was having a freak out moment around chair placement and decorative lantern arrangements. Julie stepped in, calmly guiding and then taking over the process to ensure everyone was comfortable and that it looked amazing. She weathered his ill temper with grace and made everything better. Cassie exceeded all our expectations and kept the show on the rails - from helping us craft our timeline, to guiding us from scene to scene effortlessly- and did it all with a smile! One anecdote of how adaptive and supportive the venue staff are: we had an unorthodox twist on the traditional cake ceremony- we were going to share mini heart shaped whoopie pies. We were out dancing when it was about time to “cut the cake” and Cassie recognized we had no tools or plans on how to do so. She immediately collaborated with the photographers to put together a “Lady and the Tramp” inspired scene and placed us square in that moment. It worked out perfectly, and we literally would not have been able to do that without her.
We had our photographers onsite for three days, and yet there were more spaces than we could reasonably use for gorgeous photo opportunities. The photographers and our guests raved about how much they were impressed with every small detail and aspect of the property.
In summary, Bear Mountain Inn is an incredible venue - quiet, out of the way, but easily accessible to Portland. We couldn’t be happier with the choice to have our wedding here, as we felt supported and taken care of at every turn. We are so excited to return for our anniversary- if we can wait that long! -

If you're looking for a rustic barn wedding venue (with a beautiful water view!), where you can spend your entire wedding weekend surrounded by those you love most, than look no further than the Bear Mountain Inn. We cannot say enough positive things in this posting to convey our appreciation for all that Julie and Brian (the owners) and Cassie (their Wedding Coordinator) did to make our wedding weekend simply perfect. Their thoughtfulness, responsiveness and attention to detail helped us to enjoy our wedding planning process from start to finish. The best part about working with Julie, Brian and Cassie is that they make every single planning moment fun and memorable. They make you feel like your wedding is the only wedding they are working on and while you are there for your wedding weekend they make you feel like the Bear Mountain Inn is your home away from home. It was clear that all of our guests felt like our wedding was an experience, not just an event.
Looking back on our wedding, it's clear that what made it special was the people we chose to involve. All three of them are truly the kindest, most hard-working people we've ever met. They have poured their hearts and souls into the Inn and you can really feel that during your time there. We can't wait to visit every year for our anniversary!

A picturesque wedding venue!
Where do I even begin with how AMAZING this venue was! We loved how personal and special we were made to feel from the first viewing right through to the follow up after our wedding. The owners, Brian and Julie are some of the nicest and most genuine people you will ever meet and really take the time to get to know you, not only you as the bride and groom but all of your guests who are staying the weekend with you. Cassie, the wedding coordinator, was awesome to work with! She is thorough, prompt with responses to questions and extremely organized, she was never more then a quick email away. All 3 of them were nothing but extremely helpful during our wedding weekend, especially the day of, they are right there with anything you need.
The property itself, GORGEOUS! The Inn is completely renovated and let me tell you they did not miss a detail, its modern but still has that cozy feel you want at a bed and breakfast. My husband and I stayed 5 nights with our Golden Retriever and all 3 of us felt completely comfortable and at home, we actually we all very sad the day we had to leave! And if you are looking for an authentic rustic barn this is the place for you. The two chandeliers in the barn are just gorgeous, it is something you just have to see in person. The patio where we had our ceremony overlooking the lake was just absolutely breathtaking! We have received so many compliments from our guests on this venue!
My husband really wanted our reception in an authentic old barn and we both have a love for mountains, water and nature, and this venue had it all! And the fact that they only do ONE wedding a weekend was such a big deal to us!
Our guests got to stau with us and enjoyed everything this property had to offer for 3 amazing nights and all of them are still raving about the breakfast buffet each morning!
I could just go on and on about this property and venue but I will end with it is 100% worth it to check them out, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We will definitely be back many times to come as Inn guests! -

Sister of the Groom
My little brother got married here on 8/17/19. This venue is outstanding if you, your friends or family are looking for a wedding venue or just a weekend get away in the mountains. Julie & Brian are the owners and live on site. They are down to earth friendly and caring people that are always offering to help with even the smallest things. Their staff is amazing as well. Danni & Jamie are two of the bar tenders that I met during my stay. These ladies rock, and add to the fun filled event or weekend that you stay. Bottom line when your stay is over you will think the staff and Julie and Brian should be leaving with you, like they were just guests as well. The grounds around the Inn are beautiful. Professionally maintained and when maintenance is needed it is quick and at a reasonable hour. There is also, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and hiking trails on the property along and in bear lake. There is plenty of room for a wedding party to stay at the venue, plus some family as well. Rooms are cozy and updated but still have the rustic Maine / barn / farmhouse feel. This is the perfect venue for a wedding or a weekend get away. I’m already planning a trip back just for a weekend away. Highly recommended if your looking, to check this place out! -

Wouldn’t Change a Thing
The Bear Mountain Inn was our dream venue for our wedding. We fell in love with the view of the pond, the beautiful barn, the quaint but modern inn... but what made our special day and weekend even that more special and memorable was Julie and Brian (the owners) and Cassie (the wedding coordinator). They were there every step of the way to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. We didn’t have to worry about a thing.
Our guests still talk about how beautiful the venue was and that the drive out to Waterford was well worth it.
We definitely recommend the Bear Mountain Inn and plan to come back to celebrate anniversaries and just to visit! -

Just over a year ago my fiancé and I set out to find a venue that allowed us to achieve our dream wedding. Our goals were to create a space where two families could become one, lifelong memories would be made and the best parts of us as a couple, as individuals and through our families - could shine through. Bear Mountain Inn did not disappoint! Brian and Julie have created a true heaven on earth. From the passion they have poured into every detail, to the team they have built, to the overall feeling of pure joy they have painted every inch of that property with - this is hands down the best wedding venue we could have possibly selected. I feel confident that we could have not found a more perfect place - even if we had built it ourselves. To this day, I am continuously receiving calls, texts and Facebook posts from our friends and family raving about the venue and the team. I will never be able to thank Brian, Julie, Cassie and team enough for creating a space where dreams do come true. If I could give you 100 stars I would!!!

Absolutely perfect
I cannot say enough good things about this venue and the owners. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Because weddings go by so quickly, we wanted to make a weekend out of it- we did just that. Our rehearsal dinner was in the barn at the Bear Mountain Inn followed by all of our friends and family sitting by the fire on site. The morning of our wedding we woke up in our gorgeous room (mountain ash) and had breakfast in the adorable dining room with all of our family. We then spent some time out on the lake before getting ready for our ceremony, held over the breathtaking lake. We got ready in the post and beam and had lunch set up for all of the bridal party. After our beautiful ceremony, we had a rented reception at the top of the hill, and took pictures in the sun kissed woods below. Julie and Brian (the owners) were amazing and made sure all of our wishes were met. As a bride, my mind was at ease all day, trusting my vendors and the owners would put everything together beautifully. They did just that. I can’t say enough good things about the Bear Mountain Inn. Our families had an amazing time, as did we. We cannot wait to return! -

My husband and I eloped here and it was truly the most perfect weekend. We could not have imagined a better way to get married (and in such a beautiful setting)! The weather was beautiful, the innkeepers were attentive and pleasant, and our handful of guests thoroughly enjoyed the property (who doesn't love waking up for a morning kayak trip around the lake or ending the night in a bonfire?).
We'll be coming back for reunions with our friends and to celebrate our future anniversaries. We definitely recommend this venue.

How do I even put into words how much I love Bear Mountian Inn. Me and my husband just had our Vow Renewal this past weekend there and it was absolutely magical! The Inn has everything you could possibly need! Brian and Julie who own the Inn are fantastic! They truly make you feel like a part of the family. They are so attentive and caring! Cassie is truly a wedding God sent! She helped me every step of the way with any questions or concerns I had. She truly listened to me and helped me plan the wedding of my dreams!
If you are looking for a venue that will take your guest and familys breath away this is the place to be! The rooms were top hand the most beautiful rooms we had ever seen. Our friends and family could not stop talking about how much they loved it and how beautiful they were! The Breakfast was amazing and delicious! Just what you need after full night of dancing! Me and my husband are already talking about how much we cant wait to go back and visit! There is not a SINGLE thing we would change about Bear Mountain Inn. They truly made our special day the best it could possibly be and we are so truly thankful for all of them! -

Mind Blown.
I would 100% recommend Bear Mountain Inn for anyones wedding and I am so incredibly happy that I found this venue in my wedding planning process. I had originally visited the location when the Inn was under construction with renovations, and so I only had a vague idea of what the finished result would be come wedding day - but meeting Julie, Brian, and Cassie and hearing them talk through the plans was enough for me to say yes. And when I arrived a few days before my big day to start setting up, I was speechless by just how gorgeous everything came out with the renos. Plus, the weather cooperated with us all weekend and made for a truly magical experience for our party of 113 people :)
I can confidently say that our friends and family will be talking about our wedding for a long time to come, and both my husband and I could not have asked for better hospitality from the team at BMI. If you have the chance to get married here - or even make a short visit - DO IT! -

First of all, Julie & Brian are amazing people who are so warm and lovely, they made us feel so at home in their inn. The Inn itself is absolutely beautiful, every room is special in its own unique way, and the barn is a great space that makes the perfect spot for a party. The inn grounds are gorgeous, the lake is so much fun to hang out on, and the trails on the property were perfect for morning walks with our dog Baxter. We rented out the Inn for the weekend so our whole family could stay with us, and it ended up being one of the best decisions we made for the weekend. From the time everybody checked in to the inn, to the rehearsal dinner, to the wedding, every single detail was taken care of. Julie, Brian, and the wedding coordinator Cassie were amazing on my wedding day, and there was not a single thing out of place. My husband and I LOVED our wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn, and we would 1000% recommend this venue to anybody and everybody who is planning a wedding in Maine.

When we first pulled into Bear Mountain Inn with the farmhouse and adjacent restored barn, on a gorgeous 25 acre property, overlooking the lake, we knew we had found a pearl. We met with the new owners Julie and Brian Sullivan and while touring, came to love them and their plans to renovate the property. We booked the Bear Mountain Inn immediately for our daughter's wedding weekend events to be held in July 2018. They delivered on everything we asked with excellence, and it was delightful working with them from start to finish.
This venue has fun as it's middle name. In addition to the three flawless events they created for us at BMI, there are many goodies on site. They have a great assortment of beautifully redocorated rooms for guests to chose from which include standard rooms, interesting suites, a private cottage and a family or group lodge with it's own kitchen. Our guests found it convenient and relaxing to stay at BMI where there are numerous, cozy gathering places, lots of lake toys, and games to be enjoyed inside or out on the lawn. We made wonderful memories enjoying all the extras while gazing at the lake at BMI.
The only thing superior to the property itself, is the exceptional hospitality and warmth provided by Julie and Brian and their caring and efficient staff. They went over and above our expectations, and their experience allowed them to take care of things before we even knew there was a need. And another perk ... Brian is savvy with technology and can interface with any audio/video presentation needs you may have.
We are very grateful to everyone at BMI who helped create all the joy we experienced throughout the weekend. If you are looking to have an event in this area of Maine, BMI is a must look!

We had our ceremony over looking the lake and the reception to follow in the newly renovated barn. The views, decorations, service was outstanding. The patio with the fire pit is a cozy touch for your guests to get some air and relax outside a bit while the party still goes on inside. Brian and Julie went above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed and the smallest details were taken care of all before the big day. Evan Sent on 10/21/2017My husband and I were married here in June. We were the first wedding in the newly renovated barn and the first wedding with the new innkeepers Julie and Brian. From the time they purchased the inn just a few months before our wedding, Julie and Brian worked tirelessly to finish the barn and make sure everything was perfect for our big day. The weekend of our wedding was more wonderful than we could have ever imagined. The grounds are beautiful and our guests enjoyed playing volleyball and lawn games that were set up before the ceremony. Julie and Brian even rushed to get a new ping pong table just before the event because we explained how much our families love ping pong! After the ceremony we had our reception in the gorgeous renovated barn and an evening of fun and dancing. We and our guests all loved the accommodations, the delicious homemade breakfasts, and the warm hospitality. Even now, months later, our guests are still telling us how much they loved the wedding and their weekend at the inn.
We can't speak more highly of the Bear Mountain Inn and we strongly recommend it for couples looking for a beautiful venue with talented, professional owners and staff to help make the most of their special day. -

It was so special to be able to share our weekend with our family and friends, with many of them staying on-site for a "summer camp" feel, as one of our guests put it! We loved the extra time this afforded to hang out with our guests before and after the wedding, since the day-of was definitely a bit of a blur! We couldn't have found a more beautiful venue - in the months leading up to our day, my fiance and I quickly realized that we could do absolutely nothing to the decor of the barn and still have it be incredible. We opted to add some drapes to the barn for our reception and were so pleased at how it turned out.
Throughout the entire planning process, Josh & co. were flexible, helpful, and informative. They helped us with each one of our specific questions, with everything from "How long is the walk down the aisle?" to "Can we use this piece of decor we saw in your Instagram photos?"
