While I'm still waiting on pictures to arrive, I couldn't wait to write my review. Michael was the calm in the storm that was the wedding. He was very structured in the sense of time and direction in Downtown Savannah. All of our time together was very pleasant. We had our engagement shoot the same weekend as our wedding. During our engagement shoot he had us be very casual and organic. It was one of the most relaxing points of the entire weekend for both of us. We had such a nice time without any of the smiles feeling too forced or feeling really posed. During the wedding day Michael was great at getting amazing candids in between the lengthy shot lists that myself and the mom's put in requests for. The whole day was a blur and he was wonderful at organizing and getting group family shots and candids throughout the entire day without being overly pushy. It was such pleasure working with him! He communicated super well throughout the entire process. Every time I called he was able to answer all my questions and be reassuring. I highly recommend Beacon Photo. -

Family pictures
I currently live in Southwest FL but grew up in Savannah. In FL, all of the photographers focus around the beauty of Gulf of Mexico-rightly so Sanibel Island is gorgeous! But, I wanted our family pictures to showcase Savannah and everything I love about the area. When I started looking for a photographer, Michael was HIGHLY recommended to us. Looking at all his photos, I kinda had a sad moment I never knew him when I got married. His pictures are amazing! Don't get me wrong I love our wedding pictures but what he brings is a fresh look on a wedding day. I have never seen a “staged awkward picture” which you will find in many weddings. When working with him, all of our conversations were over the phone and we met him the day of the photo shoot in person for the first time. He was easy to work with and just put us at ease. He listened to me ramble about my vision and he knew exactly where to go. I love how all the pictures came out and receive many compliments. From engagements, weddings to family photos, you cannot not go wrong with him!

Worth every penny!
Michael is a fantastic photographer and a great listener. He got wonderful moments and was super flexible about what we wanted. I wouldn’t hire anyone else to take my photos! -

Amanda Sent on 05/13/2018Mike swooped in and saved the day for us when our original photographer was unable to proceed with our wedding date as we got closer. Aimee at Amanda Rose Weddings contacted him and he was happy to help us out. Our wedding week was a destination from Kansas City to Hilton Head Island and was very unseasonably cold...and rainy!
Mike was great at being efficient outside in the cold, and still maintained a great product. The rain kept the family huddled under a park shelter until it was show time and he managed to capture the joy anyway.
Thanks, Mike for exhibiting the epitome of flexibility in just about every way you can think of! Our day was still special and one to remember. -

Kristin Sent on 12/28/2014Mike and Austin at Beacon Photo did an amazing job on our wedding photos. They were truly a pleasure to work with on our special day.
I used Beacon for both our engagement photos as well as our wedding in Port Royal on HHI and couldn't have been happier. They were flexible, accommodating and always friendly. I received the finished photos in a timely manner and all digital rights to print them, post them or share them however I wanted to. I also love that they provided both color and black and white options of several of my photos.
Before choosing a wedding photographer, I did extensive research of photographers on Hilton Head Island. Beacon was by far the best value and most responsive to my needs.
I would recommend using Beacon for your upcoming event! Plus, Mike wears a different bow tie for each wedding he shoots. :) -

Brianne Sent on 10/14/2013Michael and his wife photographed our wedding and the welcome reception the night before in Walnut Creek, CA. They did a fantastic job, especially at capturing the candid moments! All of our guests loved them, and they made us feel like our friends were capturing our most important day! We actually met Michael at a friend's wedding we attended last year in Hilton Head. Having Beacon Photo travel all the way to our wedding was definitely worth it! -

Megan Sent on 10/18/2012Michael Edde of Beacon Photo is a talented, knowledgeable and dedicated photographer. I haven't seen our final wedding photos yet, but I have no doubt they will be as beautiful as the engagement photos that he took of us back in July. Michael is laid-back to be around and yet he is on top of things, paying attention to the important details and asking insightful questions. He'll help you with your day-of timeline and he always things of beautiful photo locations. I love his enthusiasm for his work and his excitement as he gets to be a part of our special day. One thing that really stood out to me is that he stopped by our rental house a couple of hours before he was supposed to arrive, just to say hello and to check things out. It really meant a lot to me and it helped me calm down before the wedding. Having a great photographer on board for my wedding day was one thing that I didn't have to worry about.
And some advice for Savannah brides: Book your photographer soon! Like as soon as you have a date. We booked Beacon in early March for an October wedding. Savannah is full of wedding photographers and they're not all good or honest. Beacon Photo is both. If you wait, you will be sure to be scrambling for someone and you may not have the peace of mind that I had. -

Brandi Sent on 06/19/2012Mike Edde at Beacon Photo is fabulous! As soon as my husband and I met him we knew he was going to be the photographer for our wedding. He makes you feel comfortable and is truly excited about your upcoming event. He did engagement photos for us in Savannah but also did some in Atlanta (we live there) one weekend when he was up for another event so we could have some pictures of where we got engaged. I could not have been more pleased with the day of my event. Mike is very professional as was his assistant Austin. He took a ton of pictures but there were times that I didn't even notice they were there which has given us some great candid shots. I have gotten too many compliments to count on the preview of our photos he has given us. If you are looking for a friendly and professional photographer for your wedding please call Mike Edde. You will not be disappointed! -

Better than family!
Michael and team were great! Michael is very well versed in the Savannah area and was able to give us lots of ideas to help get the most out of our day. He and his teammate were on top of everything. As a matter of fact, Michael was able to move our party/family members and give direction better than anyone, acting almost as a coordinator himself. It was great! His energy was contagious and everyone commented on how great he was and how much fun they had with him. Although he is very busy, he never made us feel rushed or less important than anything else he was doing and that counted for a lot, especially since we had to travel from Atlanta frequently -
