We had the absolute best experience at this venue for our wedding! From start to finish, everything was flawless. The space itself is beautiful, but what truly made it unforgettable was the incredible team — especially Taylor and Julie. They are nothing short of amazing! Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire planning process stress-free and enjoyable. On the big day, they went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better team or location for such an important day in our lives. Highly recommend to any couple looking for the perfect venue and an exceptional experience!

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! Julie, the owner, was helpful throughout the entire process! I knew from the second I drove on to the property that I was going to want to lock this place in. We still looked at 5+ other venues after this and none of them came even close! The price was very fair for how great it was! There are many decorations included that you can use on the day of, which saved us so much money! We honestly didn't buy any decor other than a couple picture frames and flowers. There are numerous different areas for the ceremony to take place and so much property for taking pictures. Honestly, I cannot recommend this place enough, and would choose it over and over again.

Barnwood was an excellent venue! We really enjoyed working with the Barnwood staff. The day-of-coordinator through Barnwood was super helpful, and the decorations were great too. Barnwood’s recommended vendor list was a wonderful resource as well. Overall, working with Barnwood Events for our wedding made the whole process so easy, and the final result was fabulous!!

We had our Wedding at Barnwood Events and have nothing but good things to say about the venue and the staff! Everyone was so nice to work with and super helpful. We had Ellie as our day of event coordinator and she was the best. She helped run the show so that we did not have to worry about any of the details. The bartenders were great and quick with service. They also make excellent old fashioneds, we highly recommend! The owners, Julie and Dave, are so nice and very involved with the whole process from the planning to the execution and clean up. Dave, Julie, and the entire Barnwood team are the best! We chose this venue for our wedding reception because it was the only place that felt like "home". From the great environment, friendly team, and wonderful hospitality, 1000/10 recommend if you are need of hosting any type of event! LOTS of parking spaces and green space for activities too :)

Barnwood Events is an incredible place to host your wedding- we're very satisfied with choosing it. If you want to get married somewhere with beautiful natural features like wildflowers, mature trees, and wood architecture, but also provide modern amenities to your guests like AC, even and safe flooring, EV chargers, and convenient getting ready spaces, this is your perfect venue. It was great to have a venue that feels very private and serene, but is only a 10 minute drive to downtown Madison and can be serviced by Uber and local shuttles. We added the coordinator fee and worked with Kayla who did a great job. Julie and Dave were also great to work with and always promptly answered my many questions during the planning process. They are kind, professional, and hard working folks. The space was perfect for our 160 guests and we've only received positive feedback about the drinks, the barn itself, and the layout from guests! Can't think of any negatives- of course the rental cost is not small, but is comparable to other nearby wedding-specific venues.

My wife and I had a wonderful time planning, coordinating, and having our wedding and reception at Barnwood. Julie and Dave were lovely to work with from start to finish. They were always quick at replying to our questions, were always on top of contacting the vendors we chose, made sure we were having a great time, and made sure the entire day went smoothly. The house on site had also been an amazing relief so we had a main base for our bridal court to get refreshments, food, and just relax before the ceremony as well as stay overnight before and after all the fun. Would highly recommend booking early too because they are very popular right now!

Julie, Dave, Ellie and the Barnwood’s team were so reliable, friendly, helpful, hard-working, communicative, and overall caring. This meant the world to Isaac and I as we had our reception there! They took us in and treated us as if we were family! There are so many reasons why we went with Barnwood from the start (electric car parking, huge parking lot, beautiful venue, caring staff, lovely property, ionizing air cleansing system for our loved ones afraid of Covid — you name it)… but there are even more reasons why we would have our most important day/reception there all over again. We are so thankful for Julie and her team for hosting our event. There is no better space than this. They made our day a dream.

Beautiful setting for both ceremony and reception. You would think the owners have been doing this for decades; they are so organized, kind, and make everything a breeze when wedding planning can be anything but. Their list of preferred vendors is all you need - we got our catering, photographer and flowers from their list (we did our own music hookup and dessert). Bartenders are fantastic and our nieces and nephews really enjoyed playing bags outside. Very reasonable price (we had our wedding on a Thursday so that saved us a lot but we could have also done a Friday or Saturday) and you get incredible service, rooms to get ready, and SO MUCH SPACE to move around and party!

The entire team at Barnwoods is lovely to work with! The property is absolutely beautiful so not many extra decorations are needed. Our big day was perfect thanks to Julie, Dave & Ellie!

The space where you get married is so much more than a pretty backdrop. Nothing cemented that fact in my mind more than pulling into Barnwood the day after our wedding to finish collecting our things from the farmhouse. My eyes started glistening the moment I caught a glimpse of the giant willow tree where we had shared our vows, and the overwhelming, wonderful memories of our day started pouring in. The space becomes such a big part of your life when you choose to live out such impactful moments in it. Just like the setting in any other story, it provides the foundation for all the events to come and an anchor to help your memory recount it all again later. I strongly encourage everyone planning their wedding to pick a place that supports their own life’s story- a place that feels right, rather than a place that only looks beautiful.

Julie & Dave have built a space that fits our story so well, and I can easily imagine it working for most other people in the Madison area as well. Barnwood really is a perfect embodiment of Madison itself: an equal balance between small town charm and big city convenience, filled with some of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. Driving to Barnwood feels like you’re out in rural Wisconsin, even though it’s only a few minutes off the Beltline. Our ceremony was surrounded by some of the oldest and most impressive trees we’ve seen anywhere (and we love hiking), but our guests were able to stay at a very nice Holiday Inn only 6 minutes away that included free shuttle service to & from the venue. Our family & friends from up north were able to sit outside by the fire as they’re accustomed to, while our family & friends from cities enjoyed the HVAC and wifi indoors. My wife cares so much about ensuring that everyone is comfortable and happy that I included it in my vows, and Barnwood enabled us to express that perfectly despite having such a wide variety of guests. It is simply amazing how well Barnwood was able to make everyone feel welcome.

But then you the meet the owners, Julie and Dave, and you start to understand. They are just amazing people, and have managed to capture so much of themselves in their venue. Talking with them was so much fun that we’re genuinely hoping we can meetup with them again sometime in the future. But even if you don’t jive with their personalities (somehow), you have to be impressed with how much care and effort they put into making Barnwood a special place. Dave has personally planted hundreds of trees on the property, and we saw him mowing the multiple acres of lawn himself. Their family made (and continues to make) most of the wood tables & decor that they let weddings use for free. When both our wedding planner and our officiant could not make it to our rehearsal, Julie was there helping us figure out our plan and where to go. They personally put up and took down most of the chairs and tables, and Julie was even putting out the tablecloths we had rented so that we could get a headstart on setting up our DIY table centerpieces. Dave captured some great pictures of our day while simultaneously staying out of the way of our hired photographer, and shared them the same day so we lost no time solidifying everything in our memories. This list goes on!! It was nothing short of inspiring to see how involved they were in ensuring every aspect of our wedding went well. We had read some other reviews about how Julie & Dave make it feel like being taken care of by family, but having now lived through it- there’s no way my family could have done it that well (partially because they’d be too busy enjoying the day themselves).

I’m trying very hard to come up with something negative to say to ensure that this is a complete & accurate picture of our experience, but that’s seriously challenging to do. I wouldn’t go into it expecting the drinks to compete with the best bars in the country, but even then- they might have been the best drinks I’ve had at any wedding. I think the biggest issue might have been the acoustics in the barn- we had a live band and it was a bit loud & boomy (and it’s hard to turn down the volume of a drummer). But two of my top five favorite moments from our wedding involved feeling overwhelmed from the eruption of cheers and applause from all our family & friends in that barn, so I don’t think that actually counts as a negative. I suppose it could be risky if you want to have your ceremony on the front lawn since there is both a public road and the driveway leading to Barnwood’s parking lot right next to the lawn, but that’s where we had our ceremony and I didn’t hear or see a single car. Basically, I got nothing for the ‘cons’ column.

All-in-all, I cannot believe that we were ever seriously considering other venues for our wedding. Barnwood feels so right for us, and gave us everything we could have asked for. It felt like actual magic was occurring that day, but so much of that magic was actually the hard work of all our vendors. Barnwood not only provided an excellent stage for them to showcase their efforts, it also directly included some of the hardest working magicians of them all. We just cannot thank Julie & Dave enough for helping create the best day of our lives, and such a wonderful setting for our memories.

My wife and I could not have asked for a better location than Barnwood to host our wedding! Dave and Julie were so kind and welcoming when we first toured the venue. Their excitment for Barnwood helped fuel our own excitement and help us visualize ourselves getting married at this beautiful location. There are multiple locations that you can choose for your ceremony depending on your preference, we choose the beautiful giant oak tree out front. The weeks leading up to our wedding Julie and the coordinator that we hired though Barnwood, Taylor, were so willing to answer all of our questions and helped us tremendously leading up the wedding day. We opted to rent the attached "farmhouse" which was a super convient option for the guys to all get ready and have a place to hangout before the ceremony. Barnwood also has contracts with some local hotels for shuttles which prevents the hassel of your guests worrying about driving back to their hotel after a long night. The day of the wedding went so smoothly, thanks to Taylor. My wife and I knew we were in good hands and that we didn't need to stress at all because Taylor handeled everything with our various vendors. We loved everything about Barnwood and you will too!

Julie, Dave, Alyssa, and the whole Barnwood family and staff made our wedding an absolute dream. They were so kind and helpful throughout the whole process and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved their extensive decor inventory and the staff assistance with setup and tear down is invaluable. Not to mention their bartenders make fantastic drinks! They all clearly know what they’re doing and it couldn’t have been easier for our vendors to all coordinate and get what they needed. We also can’t recommend Alyssa and (other Barnwood coordinators) enough for helping make our ceremony and reception so smooth.

We felt like we were being taken care of by family. Thank you so much!

Dave and Julie (co-owners) have something really special at Barnwood. The decor included on-site made it stress free to plan our wedding from out of state. Julie is very responsive via email and helped with all of our random questions from beginning. We toured 5 venues in Madison and Barnwood was the clear choice. The entire property at Barnwood is great but the reception area is breathtaking!

We rented the farmhouse on the property for our extended family which was a great option to keep everyone close during the weekend.

Dave took photos for our engagement session and photos during the wedding to complement the photographers' photos.

Ellie, our day-of coordinator through Barnwood was great at giving us ideas and helping create a vision for the big day that we couldn't have designed ourselves.

My husband and I got married at Barnwood on NYE 2022. It was the best day and I can't say enough about the staff. They did everything for us and hiring their day of coordinator was the best money we spent. Ellie handed it all and we had no stress leading up to the big day. Our family and friends were so impressed with the venue and the owners, Julie and Dave. They went out of their way to make our day special. They also let us stay past midnight to ring in the New Year! If you have an event or wedding coming up, check out barnwood. It is the best venue in Madison. #blessed

We got married at Barnwood Events on 10/01 and it was the most amazing day I could have ever imagined, thanks to Julie and Dave! They have done such an amazing job with this venue and it shows in every detail! The ceremony under the oak tree was magical, the space fit our 240 guests well, and the service was great! Everyone there was helpful and there to make our day run smooth. Having the farmhouse rental right next door was an extra bonus! If you are thinking of getting married at Barnwood don't think twice!

I recently got married at Barnwood Events WI, LLC and it was a dream come true! This modern barn is everything you can imagine and more! Also, Dave and Julie are wonderful people to work with while planning your wedding. From the moment we met through my husband and I's wedding day, they made sure we were always put first. They will go out of their way to make sure the process goes smoothly for you as well as make sure everything is perfect the day of your wedding. I recommend booking with them for any event, but especially a wedding!

My husband I recommend Barnwood Events! We had our wedding here is June 2022 and everything turned out perfect. Julie, Dave, and Ellie are very organized and help with pre-planning and day of set up. As you can tell from the pictures the outdoor space for the wedding ceremony is a beautiful backdrop in front of a willow tree. It was very convenient to walk over to the venue afterward for the ceremony. All our guests gave compliments about the venue since it is so spacious and well decorated inside. Highly recommend!

We are beyond happy with Barnwood Events - from the planning to the day of, Julie and Dave were there for us every step of the way. The space is absolutely gorgeous and very convenient to downtown Madison. The outdoor spaces around the venue make for some beautiful photos and gorgeous ceremony spaces. The ability to stay at the farmhouse onsite is also wonderful. Finally, Julie has put so much work into the decor and did ALL of our centerpieces, which we appreciated so much! We cannot say enough good things about this team and anyone would be lucky to be able to host their event here!

I highly recommend Barnwood Events as a wedding venue in the Madison area. The building itself is beautiful with so many special touches. The stunning bar, the splendid head table, and the sparkling lighting provides a rustic elegance to the night. The grounds are expansive, wooded, and beautiful. This is a family business, and their family is a joy to work with! At the end of the night, I was sad to say goodbye. My husband and I recently celebrated our winter wedding at Barnwood events and cannot say enough positive things about the staff and the beautiful venue itself. Julie and her family are amazing to work with, they are so kind and accommodating. The venue space itself was perfect for our indoor ceremony and allowed guests to seamlessly transition from ceremony to cocktail hour and dancing. The space is perfect for indoor and outdoor photos, and allowed for our bridal party to get ready together on site. Our event ran perfectly thanks to the staff at Barnwood. Thank you to their entire team for helping us host such an amazing party!

THIS is the venue to have a wedding in Madison, WI! It is a BEAUTIFUL new building with state of the art everything and you can make it what ever style you want. My daughter's medium-sized wintry wedding was enclosed in views of beautiful snow-covered trees . The reception was in the adjacent large room already set up with tables, the DJ and a huge, stunning bar. No one needed to step outside. Catering is so easy in the large kitchen provided. You also get perfect, comfortable rooms for the wedding parties to get ready in. There is a huge screen to run photos. We also used it to watch the NYC ball drop on our NYE wedding. Another worthy mention is the the owners, Dave and Julie Wood, put in a top notch air filtration system. It never felt stuffy, smelled sweaty (we all danced for hours), and just felt good to know of the great air circulation due to the current covid variants popping up.
We cannot thank Dave and Julie Wood enough for all their patience and kindness through the whole process. They run such a classy business and they care so much about their clients. It felt much better to work with them than a venue who hires employees who may not pay the kind of attention to details that the owners would. Our wedding was approx 150 people. We know of weddings there for many more (and less) and its so pretty in the summer to have the ceremony outside. Oh, and I have to mention the rentable farmhouse. Family with young kids stayed there with local babysitters. They were right across the driveway from the venue in a home with a kitchen. So easy!

We got married in October at Barnwood Events and we could not have asked for a better experience! The location makes you feel like you are out of town, even though it is just a short drive to downtown. The venue itself was spacious and fit all our of needs to make our wedding perfect. Julie and Dave were very helpful throughout (even helping with decisions since we were terrible at making any) and they put in the extra effort to make sure everything was ready for our weekend. Julie and Dave customized everything to make sure it was a wedding we dreamed of.

Renting out the barn house next to the venue is a must. We were able to have our friends who traveled stay there and it was a perfect way for everyone to be together. You can tell Julie and Dave put in a lot of effort to make sure it was spacious and cozy for our guests!

The staff helped a ton which made our day as smooth as possible. Honestly, you won't regret going here to host your events!

Having just held our wedding here, I can say it made for the perfect fall wedding venue. The property is beautiful, offering many natural spots to hold a ceremony. The reception space is large with a gorgeous bar, and Julie and David are easy to communicate with! We had our wedding at Barnwood in July and we couldn’t have been more happy. Julie, Dave and Alyssa are amazing to work with. They worked with all of our vendors and when the day came, it was absolutely perfect. Our original venue canceled our wedding 3 months before the date. We ended up going with Barnwood and I’m so happy that we did. It is a beautiful venue! Our guests raved about the barn. They thought everything was beautiful and they especially liked the bar. I have already recommended Barnwood to some of my engaged friends for their wedding.

Barnwood was the absolute perfect space for our wedding - everything about the venue was spot on! Barnwood was gorgeous indoors and provided a spacious yet intimate space for all aspects of wedding reception. The outdoor space was phenomenal too and allowed for guests to play lawn games and there were gorgeous spots for photos on site. It was also such a delight to work with Julie and the rest of the Barnwood staff. She was communicative and helpful, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of our day was spot-on (she even hand made candied lemons for our signature cocktail!!) Barnwood is an absolute gorgeous venue in a great location with thoughtful and kind staff! We are so lucky that we selected this venue for our special day!

Julie and Dave were awesome hosts for our wedding. We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue with such great people. Julie and Dave built this Barn from the ground up. When we first decided to have our special day with them, the Barn was no more than Tyrrell covered walls and an incredible vision. We had no doubt that Julie and Dave would have the place in tip top shape in a short 8 months. They not only had it built and ready for use, but also had so many important details covered to make our guests comfortable and add to our excitement.
From the gorgeous craftsmanship of the bar to the scenic indoor porch area, this venue will blow your guests away. I had people all night telling me what a wonderful place the Barn was. Not to mention its perfect location! All of our guests stayed at the Sheraton (all from wayyyy out of town). This was a quick 3 mile shuttle ride, which was just perfect for getting guests to cocktail hour on time and getting everyone home safe that night.
This was an absolutely amazing place to spend our day. Julie and Dave had the Barn open for us early to get ready. The Bridal suite was perfect for the salon to travel to. The girls at Ecco Salon could not have been happier with the set up for getting all 7 of us "done up". The Trolley found the location easily to pick us up for the ceremony. We grabbed lots of great pictures indoors and outdoors, with a great rural feel. Maybe the best way to describe the atmosphere would be classy and elegant with rustic undertones. I would highly recommend this venue for ANYONE. Having your wedding with Barnwood Events will not disappoint.

Barnwood is first class, all the way! My wife and I had the most amazing wedding there and the people were excellent to work with. Super flexible and understanding. I would also recommend the wedding coordinator. Taylor rocked! 10/10!

I had my wedding here in November 2022 and booked it in August 2021. Dave and Julie run a great venue and strive to provide a great experience. Julie handles most of the communications and she is always prompt in responding and way more flexible than I expected on meetings or tweaks to the event.

If you're getting married here and plan to have a larger wedding party, keep in mind that the groom suite is not exactly large (the bridal suite is A+, though!).

The venue is absolutely beautiful inside and the several acres of property provide great opportunities for stunning pictures, not to mention making you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere despite being a stone's throw from downtown Madison.

Our caterer, band, and ice cream truck all had a great experience working with them, and their internal bar staff did an excellent job - very friendly and efficient!

The venue partners with multiple hotels in the area for free shuttles and they have a BIG parking lot of their own that includes handicap spaces and EV charging spaces.

All in all, very happy with our decision to go with Barnwood!!!

We hosted our wedding at Barnwood on 11/6 and we were SO glad this was the venue we chose. Dave and Julie have built a beautiful space with enough elegance that you can use as much or as little decoration as you desire! The flexibility of the space was really helpful as we made last minute adjustments to accommodate ever-changing restrictions. The space is well equipped to host a full wedding day from start to finish with plenty of space to set and reset as needed. The day-of coordinator (Ellie) was so helpful and really went above and beyond to help with the small details of the day that could easily be missed. If you are looking for a beautiful space with vendor flexibility to allow you to have everything you want on your wedding day.... Barnwood is the place for you!
