Words almost fail to express how freaking fabulous our time with The Barker House was! We are just over 3 months married (3/27/2025) and family and friends still remark to us on just how fun and gorgeous our wedding was. A ton of that credit goes to the amazing staff at the Barker House.

Right from the start of our first tour, we were treated with such kindness and respect from the Barker House team. We were immediately sold on the staff (who took such time and care chatting with us) before we even fell in love with the venue. Davis-Lynn and Lilly were our rockstars! We were lucky enough to have them with us on our wedding day. The first portion of the day I was incredibly nervous, but once I was greeted by Davis-Lynn at the front door all my worries dissipated. I knew I was in the best of hands and suddenly felt ready to have fun. Even during the dinner service, Lilly was so kind as to sew my ripped bustle behind the scenes. She was so dedicated to making sure we had the best experience.

The venue is simply stunning. As two people who appreciate history and go antiquing regularly, The Barker House spoke to our personalities. The speak-easy feel of the sunken bar, fireplaces, and exposed beams are very unique. The venue is in a gorgeous area and we were glad to be by the ocean. The chef is phenomenal as the food service was top notch. Family still exclaim to us how delicious the food was (omg the short ribs = perfection!). I also suggest that couples utilize The Barker House's recommended vendors. Not only was payment and interaction with them a breeze, but they were each fabulous in responsiveness and quality. Awesome Blossom, Toast To That Entertainment, and Kristen Griffin Photography were incredibly professional and they each blew us away.

I could go on and on... The bottom line, if you looking for a worry free all inclusive beautiful venue and want to work with the best people, look no further than The Barker House!
P.S. Brides, make sure you get a picture with your planners! My only regret is that I didn't get a picture with Lilly and Davis-Lynn!

We can’t recommend the Barker House enough! The entire team was amazing to work with and made everything for our wedding so easy! They truly took the stress out of planning and were so supportive every step of the way. The coordinators the day of were incredible and kept checking in to make sure we were eating enough which was so great. Speaking of food, all of the food was incredible and all our guests were raving about it days after. Our wedding was truly the most perfect day and we can’t thank the team at the Barker enough!!

We had our wedding at Barker this past weekend and we can't say enough about how thoughtful, professional, and gracious the team was! We have no idea how we would've pulled this off otherwise. From the second we arrived to tour the venue a year ago, everyone was so attentive to our wants and needs. The team was quick to answer all of our questions along the way, no matter how silly they seemed. They made sure our vision was carried out and never made us feel like we were asking too much of them.

Davis-Lynn was our day-of coordinator and she was exceptional. She made sure all the moving parts came together seamlessly and because of this, we were able to be fully present instead of worrying about all the little details. Our day was absolutely perfect and we couldn't be more thankful!

We decided to have our wedding at the barker house by wedgewood weddings and it was the best decision! We decided last minute to plan a wedding within 4 months and they were there to help us every step of the way. From their planning team, vendors, location, & more it was seriously the best experience! Our coordinator, Lyric, and our banquet captain Paula were seriously the best and made our day so smooth! We would highly recommend barker house by wedgewood weddings if your looking for a beautiful location, wonderful staff, and east wedding planning!

We couldn’t be more grateful to the whole team at Barker House! Our wedding day exceeded all expectations, it was perfect!! They made the planning process a breeze and put any worries at ease. wedding day the team went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and that made us feel comfortable!

Barker House was an absolute dream wedding location as someone who grew up in Scituate. The team was so fun and easy to work with, especially our coordinator Davis-Lynn and our banquet captain Paula. Davis-Lynn & Paula worked so well together and made me feel so comfortable and assured everything was under control on wedding day. I only worked with Davis-Lynn for about 2 weeks as our coordinator was confirmed at our final meeting but she was an absolute delight… she knows exactly what shes doing and is so focused on making sure every detail is handled as smoothly as possible. The packages for the wedding are extremely customizable and made for us to be able to personalize our day down to very minor details. By working with local vendors to create “all inclusive” packaging and pricing Wedgewood took hours of time and stress off our hands to confirm those details too. I’d go with them 10000x over again given the chance and truly cannot say enough good things about the Barker from the very start of planning right down to the genuine effort and care that went into our day by the day of team at the Barker.

The Barker House was perfect! Everything went beautifully and as expected. Our wedding expert Amanda and banquet captain Paula were both amazing! We will remember our day forever and highly recommend this venue, especially since there are so many vendors included! That was the selling point for us (paired with the fact that our last name is Barker ☺️) Thank you to all who made our day so memorable!

Excellent wedding venue and experience! The planning team including Camryn and Andrew were so friendly and easy to work with during the year leading up to the wedding. I really enjoyed the all-inclusive nature of the venue and that the vendors were included in the package. It made wedding planning just that much easier and was a great value. The venue itself is beautiful. The older tavern portion is historic and has lots of charm. The food was fantastic, all of our guests loved it! Amanda and Paula were so attentive and made sure our day went perfectly.

From start to finish our wedding was amazing and the process was easy! Camryn was our wedding coordinator and I could write a book on how amazing she was! We booked our wedding 2-3 months prior to our date. They were nothing short of amazing! From planning to the big day everything was perfect! I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get married! I booked the Barker Tavern in October 2022 shortly after I got engaged and was so excited as it was near the beach, that I spent my Summers with family. A few months later we got notified that the Barker Tavern had been bought out and it has now become the "Barker House" by Wedgewood Weddings. My fiancé and I were nervous at first, but not for long as Andrew was there to make it all work out.

Andrew, the general manager, made the entire transition seamless. He assured all construction/renovations would be better than before (and THAT THEY WERE!) and that he was not willing to change a thing for what we had originally envisioned with Barker Tavern, in fact-- went above and beyond to make it better then we even imagined. Andrew really listened, and delivered. You can tell Andrew has been working in this industry for years because he really knows his stuff!

When Camryn, our coordinator came into the picture, we knew we were in good hands. Camryn was so communicative leading up to the day of and made us feel so wonderful. When it came down to our wedding day, Camryn really ran a tight ship in terms of the timeline so that she had all the vendors working together but was so calm and collected the whole time. The ENTIRE day was smooth, and stress free. My husband and I don't drink so Camryn made sure that we had our mocktail's of choice all night, and also put in the bridal & groom suite which was such a beautiful detail that we were SO appreciative of! Camryn made set up also so easy - I Brought all my boxes in and she set everything up just how I wanted -- and then Paula and Kylie also did such a spectacular job setting up the furniture and cocktail hour that everyone was raving about it all night!

Paula really was the icing on the cake. We have worked in the industry for 15+ years and have never met such a thorough, and kind banquet captain. We absolutely loved Paula and how she managed all of her servers and staff - Kylie, Jessica, Patricia, John, Tim, and Dennis -- you guys are rockstars and some of the speediest servers I've ever seen in the industry! Big shout out to the kitchen stars, Chef Marc - people could NOT stop talking about the Mac N cheese balls, bacon wrapped scallops & the entrees were to DIE for! Everyone wanted containers to take leftovers home -- Chef Marc really knows how to deliver for a wedding and with great quality!

We really just wish we could relive our wedding weekend again and again and thats all because of Camryn, Andrew & the team at Wedgewood Weddings. The venue, the vibes, the class, the kindness -- all of the it was there.

I'll never be able to fully articulate how amazing and The Barker Tavern is!! Becky and her team were warm, fun, and so organized. Our wedding was postponed twice due to Covid, but Becky and her team remained a calm and constant presence. We loved the experience so much we ended up hosting the wedding shower there too! The Barker delivered on both a smaller more intimate shower and a larger full blown celebration. Our wedding was beyond what we could have ever imagined, and so worth the wait. Largely because of The Barker Tavern. Highly, highly recommend!!

Our New Year’s Eve wedding at The Barker Tavern was everything I had hoped and more. Becky and her team went above and beyond to make this day special, memorable and fun for all! From the first meeting to the midnight toast every little detail was perfection. The team made sure the wedding party was treated like royalty. Our parents said that someone was always asking if there was anything needed. The answer was always no because they had already been a step ahead, and all was executed flawlessly. The room was beautifully decorated, and all guest raved about the food. The passed appetizers were excellent, and the meals were all perfectly presented and delicious. We are so glad we chose The Barker Tavern for our wedding reception. We can’t wait to celebrate other special occasions there. Becky and Paula at the Baker Tavern are absolutely amazing, they made sure the entire night went on without a hitch. We had the ceremony and reception in the William room. The venue is beautiful and was decorated for Christmas during my wedding. The food was delicious, we had so many complements on the swordfish and filet. I would recommend the Barker to everyone!!!

My husband and I got married at The Barker in July! Becky and her team were amazing and understanding during the planning process. Our original wedding date was spring 2020 and had to reschedule our date numerous times until restrictions lifted. We were in constant communication with Becky. The day of our wedding, was magical and everything went as planned if not better! The food was excellent, the venue was warm and elegant, and best of all, we were able to have our ceremony take place in the newly and beautifully done gardens! We could not be more grateful for Becky and The Barker team!

The Barker Tavern was the perfect venue for our reception! Becky was wonderful to work with from the very beginning when we first visited the Barker Tavern. She answered all of our questions and was super helpful in choosing vendors. The venue inside is already gorgeous so we didn't need alot of extra stuff to decorate with, we were able to add small things to add our touch and personality to the room! The day off, we had Judy as our wedding consultant (included in the cost). she was great in keeping us on track of timing and what was coming up next. Our family and friends LOVED the food and the atmosphere of the place, we never stopped getting compliments! I loved how everything was included in the cost (appetizers, cake, the variety of meal options) were all great! There was something for everyone! We had a 107 people with a band in the room and it was perfect! I would recommend the Barker to anyone!

We had our wedding reception at The Barker Tavern on December 29,2018 and it was nothing short of a fairytale. From the minute we set foot in the Barker, we knew it was the perfect spot for us. The decorations, sparkling lights, dazzling fireplace, and warm reception were incredible. Becky and her staff were attentive, kind, and genuinely involved throughout the whole process to make our day the best it could possibly be. Judy helped us through every step of our reception and kept us calm. By the time I reached the end of the process, I felt like I had made a lifelong friend in Becky. Every day, we look through our pictures and remember what a wonderful, special day it was. All of our guests were amazed with the beauty of the room, the delicious food, and the quality of the service. We highly recommend The Barker!

I had my wedding reception at The Barker Tavern last Saturday (9/8/18). Becky and her staff are amazing, wonderful people. You will not worry about anything with your special day in their hands. I could not have planned a destination wedding without Becky's amazing help. That plus a beautiful, twinkling venue with pristine gardens made for a perfect, perfect day. We had our wedding reception at the Barker on a Sunday (because we had a smaller wedding and there is a minimum guest amount for Saturdays) in June of 2017. Every part of my experience with them was perfect. They made the planning phase so easy with their personalized wedding binder they give you. They had so many great recommendations for other vendors too (I got my dress and florist through their recommendation). The event was perfect and their staff was AMAZING and made everything run so smoothly. I can't say enough good things about them. They even made my husband and I giant to go bags of food to take with us including each of our favorite desserts! I highly recommend this family run business with a long history in Scituate.

Best day ever. The staff, service, food atmosphere, all incredible. We had a beautiful day.

Our wedding reception at the Barker Tavern was beyond perfect. I was planning the wedding from out of state, and Becky and the Barker team were very flexible in meeting with my parents, and working around when my fiancee and I would be in town to plan. The reception hostesses made sure everything stayed on schedule, and I loved how the whole team made sure the night went as my fiancee and I had envisioned - with plenty of time for dancing and mingling. Everyone I met was incredibly professional, personable, and fun. I look forward to returning to the Barker for an anniversary dinner.

We absolutely loved our wedding reception at the Barker Tavern. We wanted to have a fabulous dinner party and a fun night of music and dancing. At the Barker Tavern, we got all that and more in a beautiful New England setting. Our guests raved about the food, both during the cocktail hour and the seated dinner. The New England feel of the colonial tavern and the coastal setting made the reception extra special for our out-of-town guests. The Barker Tavern and its excellent staff just made it all shine. We had a great experience working with Becky and her team. We were planning our wedding from out of state and they could not have been more accommodating, knowledgeable, or nice. They get it right when it comes to listening to the couple about the kind of wedding reception they want and bringing the couple’s vision to life, while also sharing their insights and experience at the right moments to help make things work smoothly. They were also incredibly agile and helpful on the day of the wedding. While we had hoped for a sunny day, it turned out to be cool and drizzly. We weren’t sure what to do about the family photos we had planned to take at Old Scituate Light. Becky suggested that the two of us head out there for some photos, while they would quickly move several of the tables they had already set for the reception so we could take family photos in front of the fireplace when we returned. It worked out perfectly. The wait staff, bartenders, and wedding coordinators were very attentive and professional. They were on top of every detail, making it easy for us simply to enjoy our special day and celebrate with family and friends. Thank you to everyone at the Barker Tavern for making our wedding reception so elegant and so wonderful!

From start to finish our experience with Barker Tavern was phenomenal. Becky handled everything we could have possibly needed. She made us feel like we were family from the moment we walked through the door. I could call at any time with any question and Becky would have so much helpful information for us or even just that reassuring advice when things felt overwhelming. The staff there was incredible. All of our guests raved about the food even weeks later. The location was perfect for that nautical theme we had pictured and the lighthouse pictures we wanted. My husband and I were over the moon with the outcome of our special day.

The Barker Tavern provided the perfect ceremony and reception setting for my wedding this past March. The planning process was stress-free due to Becky's informed guidance, and the vendors she recommended were incredible (there was no pressure to use their vendors, and we ended up going about half and half).
The actual ceremony and reception were handled expertly--the staff changed the room over in mere minutes, and the room itself was gorgeous--pretty and romantic.
Overall, I can't say enough about the Barker. The fact that there are no fees or set-up charges made this an affordable, perfect choice for our wedding venue.

I had my wedding reception at the Barker Tavern last November; it was perfect! Planning a wedding is so stressful and overwhelming but Becky makes it so much easier. Not only was the whole reception absolutely beautiful, all my guests could not stop talking about how delicious the food was. My new husband and I just got married at the Barker Tavern this past Saturday. I couldn't wait to write a review. We had a small wedding there (about 25) that included our ceremony and reception. I'm absolutely delighted that we made that decision. From the moment that I met Becky she gave us a warm hug and sat Adam and I down to go over details with us. She made planning a wedding stress free and enjoyable. We had a quick engagement so from when we went to visit the Barker in August for the first time to the actual wedding a short while later, we never felt rushed our hurried. I would receive emails from Becky to check in with us and to see if we needed anything. I truly felt as if we were the only ones getting married there! I know how busy Becky is and for her to take the time to sit with us or be available whenever we needed her, I am forever grateful. The Barker itself is beautiful and the food was phenomenal! It was truly the best day of my life and a huge thank you to Becky and the Barker staff for making our wedding day a memorable one for us and our guests. If you're thinking of getting married at the Barker, think no more and do it! You will not regret it!

From the start of our wedding planning, we only went and saw Barker Tavern after looking at their venue online and we booked the day we saw it for the first time, we just knew it is where we wanted to get married. From the initial stages to the tasting and the final days before the wedding, Becky was so helpful and it was a pleasure to work with her. The day of the wedding the attendants working the room were so helpful and we appreciated everything. We couldn't imagine our wedding day being anywhere else. The food was great and all our guests have continued to rave about it, the atmosphere and decor of the Williams Room are gorgeous. We had our wedding at Barker Tavern in July and it was UNREAL. Could Becky be more amazing??? Seriously!!!! The food is out of this world and the room is gorgeous! This was the first and last placed we looked when planning our wedding. We felt no pressure at all to book, and as we were wrapping up my now husband looked at Becky and said " I like you! You're like my mom.... We are having our wedding here!" We booked that day. I worried about planning a wedding I had just started a new job that was far from home and in the midst was offered a promotion that was very in depth and let me tell you! Becky did everything for us! NO STRESS! When I say this was the easiest thing I have ever done in my life, plan a wedding in 6 months, I mean it! I will forever recommend the Barker. Everyone she recommends is amazing.... Go with them! The Jordan family has weddings down to a science. The staff amazing!!!!! I never ever felt like we were being rushed, that a clock was being watched, nothing!!!! When we were leaving everything as packed to perfection and handed off to our parents. This place needs more than 5 stars!!! What I loved most about Becky was that she was not trying to get you for every penny! Just one of bathe many examples...We had bought a card box and she told us to return it, keep the $40 and use what she had which was gorgeous of course! Oh my god she is amazing. I wish that there was one flaw I could write and I was discussing this with family that I can't even critique one thing and they totally agreed. I can't believe that I did not have one flaw in my wedding....unheard of! Becky to you and your family, you are truly amazing and thank you so much for making my wedding day the best day of my life! The Barker Tavern had everything I'd been looking for in a reception site and then some. You got so much for your buck. Becky Smith, the wedding reception coordinator did everything she could and then some to make my dream day a reality. She not only took care of the entire reception planning, but she also made picking out my other vendors a breeze; she referred me to a bridal gown boutique, hair & make up stylist, transportation company, and even where to have my rehearsal dinner. Looking at the reviews below it doesn't surprise me that Becky made them feel like family. She has an enormous amount of compassion. Anyone can say you're in good hands, but when she said it, there was this overwhelming sense of comfort in her eyes and voice, that made me trust her instantly. Throughout my planning process Becky made me feel as if I was the only Bride she was working with; even though I knew that wasn't true considering the numerous wedding photos on The Barker Tavern facebook page. It shows how dedicated she is to her girls. If you call/email her she'll answer all your wedding questions & concerns. Because she has so much experience, she knows the answer to any type of scenario you throw at her. The day of was fantastic! It was such a site to see the outcome of all the planning, hard-work, and dedication Becky and her staff did for me when I entered the Williams Room. The room looked exactly how I envisioned, My husband, myself, and our guests loved the food and the service was spot on. Once the formalities were over, I kid you not we torn up the dance floor. Truly a night we'll never forget. I'm so grateful that I got to be a Barker Bride.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We had our wedding reception in the Williams Room at the Barker in November 2013 and it was absolutely amazing start to finish. The Barker team was incredibly helpful with the entire wedding planning process. Becky was responsive, knowledgeable, flexible and just genuinely dedicated to helping make our wedding day go as smoothly and stress free as possible. Don't hesitate to book your reception here!

Barker Tavern was a dream come true. From the moment we set foot in Barker Tavern, Becky and the entire staff treated us like family. They made the entire planning process so comfortable and seamless. The vendors they recommended for cake, photography, and DJ were nothing short of incredible as well. With Barker by my side, I never once felt nervous or uneasy about the process, I always rested soundly knowing they had everything more than under control. In addition to providing absolutely incredible help in planning, they helped us make it an affordable endeavor. Granted we got married off season, but for the value and service they provide, we feel like we didn't have to "break the bank", so to speak, in order to have a show-stopping and dream-come-true day.

Now that the wedding has passed, I can truly say that Barker Tavern made our day absolutely perfect. Both my mother and mother-in-law had phone calls pouring in for days about how blown away our guests were by the time they had. They raved about the food, the music, the impeccable service, the kindness/competence of the servers and staff on the floor, and more. Just absolutely amazing. I cannot recommend Barker enough for your special day. A cozy, sea-side, delicious, and FUN place to have your big day!

I had to plan our wedding from out of state. I thought that may be difficult but it could not have been easier. Becky felt like family. She answered all phone calls, all emails...she had answers before I even thought to ask them.

Interacting with Becky for many months before the wedding made Barker Tavern and Scituate feel like home. A family owned business definitely has a heartwarming feel. Barker Tavern has so many wedding ceremonies and receptions each year but Becky made me feel like I was the only bride and my wedding was "it". Unbelievable and so appreciated! And I can say now that my wedding has passed, I miss her, and will look forward to going back to visit.

Barker Tavern itself is amazing. It is beautifully decorated and very classy. The grounds outside are gorgeous. The food is to die for, the staff exceptional. Our day went without a hitch...my husband and I didn't even need to think about where to be, the staff would gently guide us in the right direction.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Great food, great service, exceptional staff, and perfect New England charm. I knew I wanted to get married here just a few hours after I got engaged, and I'm so glad we did. Everything was perfect - even though it rained on my wedding day, the Barker made up for it! I didn't have to worry about a thing and as soon as the ceremony was over, I breathed a sigh of relief and was able to just enjoy my wedding. Becky and her team took care of everything so I could have fun, socialize, and dance the night away. I am so, so happy with the way everything went with our wedding day.

I was worried that serving their delicious swordfish and filet mignon for 100 people wouldn't be as delicious as it usually is, but every guest commented on how great the food was, and what a great place the Barker is overall. We look forward to celebrating our anniversary there and having some swordfish again sooner!

I can't recommend the Barker Tavern highly enough! They were an amazing value and did everything they could to take the stress out of wedding planning! From their upfront wedding packages that were priced out in full (no need to factor in all of the extra taxes and fees and gratuities that add up quickly) to their level of flexibility that allows the bride to customize her wedding, I absolutely loved having my wedding at the Barker! Becky was wonderful, and so responsive I knew I could get in touch with her quickly no matter what time of day over any little matter that came up. When my centerpieces fell through at the last minute, she was offering up her decorations and even emailing me ideas that she saw other brides do that would match the theme of my wedding. When you become a Barker Bride they provide you with all of the information you need to keep you on track - it was like having a wedding planner for no additional cost! The binder that they give you to break down your tasks by month was amazingly helpful in the planning process. The wedding day went seamlessly, and all of my guests keep raving on about what an amazing place and what amazing food they had, and many of them have been back since! We loved the Barker because all the food was cooked to order, so everyone's meal was restaurant quality and not the typical pre-cooked catering food. What's even nicer was the one year anniversary dinner they gave us to help celebrate our first year of marriage by coming back to the place where it all happened. I couldn't have found a better location, or nicer staff to work with, they really made my day perfect and I honestly can't thank them enough!

The Barker Tavern in Scituate MA is the ultimate wedding venue. The room and location are beyond beautiful, overlooking serene Scituate Harbor. Becky and the entire staff go out of their way to make your dreams come true on your special day. There was not a detail missed and with Becky at my side, I was worry free the entire night. On top of all this, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD. If you are looking to wow your guests with an intimate evening, in a beautiful space, with amazing food, The Barker Tavern is your destination. EXCELLENT place to have a wedding reception or event. Our wedding went off without a hitch, and it was all due to the people working at the Barker. They provided us with a backdrop for our make-shift photo booth, they allowed me to bring in the wedding cake I made, the dessert buffet was well worth the extra money.

Definitely recommend having your reception here!

The Barkers is the place to have your wedding! They were the most amazing professional staff I have ever worked with. My husband and I were planning a wedding from long distance and they were there every step of the way. The Barkers went above and beyond our expectations and and made our wedding a dream come true. I cant stop talking about the wedding, the people, the staff, the food, the wait staff, the beautiful room. I keep looking on facebook eager to see all photos! We defintley give the Barker Tavern two thumbs up and if I had to reccomend a venue to a couple, it would be The Barker Tavern. Barkers gets into every detail and takes care of everything. My husband I were calm the whole planning time thanks to Barker Tavern. They truely made our wedding special and more than I ever imagined it would be. We cant wait to go back and visit everyone at the Barker Tavern, from the first planning day on they became "family" to us. We cant thank them enough!

We had a great wedding day thanks to the Barker Tavern. Their staff is friendly, professional and outgoing - and were wonderful with all of our friends and family during our wedding reception. Becky Jordan is the wedding coordinator, and she helped make the planning process straight-forward and painless for us! The Barker had the perfect sized reception hall for our wedding reception of about 120 guests, the setting was beautiful and we selected a great package which included our hors d'ouvres, 3 menu choices, dessert/coffee and a 3-tiered cake from Konditor Meister. Our guests STILL rave about the amazing food they had at our wedding. Could not have asked for a better venue!!

I had been in the bridal party at a wedding at the barker tavern and knew I had to be back there. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was where I wanted to have our reception! Becky and everyone involved were nothing but friendly, nice and professional. The fact that they have been doing this for years shows. I didn't have to worry about one little thing! They made sure my husband and I had our dinner, had cake, drinks, and even made us our own sundae from the make your own sundae bar! Not only did they take care of my husband and I but also took amazing care of our parents as well. We have been married for 2 months now, and all people can talk about still is how amazing the food was at our wedding! We can't wait to go back to celebrate more occasions!

This was our reception venue, the ceremony was held at home.
We already knew the food was great as well as the ambiance as we eat there on a regular basis. Becky also provided an easy approach to the reception, which we had in the New England room, the restraunt itself. Everyone was so nice and helpful with a bare minimal problem and even that was resolved promptly - so none of the guests ever knew. THey were flexible and helpful and all our guests raved about the food and the atmosphere. Our wedding was 44 people, the New England room was perfect size for this as nobody felt cramped and we also didn't appear to be in an auditorium!
Highly reccomend this venue - no hidden anything, so it was easy to maintain our budget too.

Becky and all the staff at the Barker are AMAZING. The function room itself is absolutely stunning-- lots of light and high rafters, big stone fireplace-- and the entire team made sure everything went smoothly. The value for cost, as we were married off season, was phenomenal. So much food and all of it delicious. I'd recommend these guys to anyone.

I have always wanted to get married there since I was a little girl so I planned our wedding date around their availabilty of openings. We had an evening wedding and the place was beautiful with candles on the table and lindt chocolates placed around the candles. It was such a wonderful night and the staff there was making sure that everything was running smoothly and seemless throughout the night. They were also able to accomodate us early when we arrived due to the weather. We were supposed to do some pictures outside but the weather did not cooperate with us for our day so they had a back up plan. So many great memories and we will be able to go back and celebrate our one year anniversary next year there. The price is based on 140 guests and open bar for an hour.

From the minute we stepped foot inside the Barker Tavern on a whim to view the premises, to the minute we said good night after the reception, the Barker Tavern treated us with respect and professionalism. Becky, the site wedding planner, was very responsive and kind as I called and changed my mind on the napkins a few times. The dinner food was absolutely delicious as was the ice cream sundae bar. We received so many compliments on the food (the scallops were to die for!). The bridal attendants were very attentive and brought us our food and even packaged the left over food for us. They also coordinated the DJ, photographer and catering perfectly. The night ran very smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They also packed up my personal belongings (including decor) for my convenience at the end of the night. The Barker Tavern has earned a great reputation and it is well deserved. You won't regret having the Barker Tavern host your wedding reception - it was one of the best decisions we made!

We had the most wonderful experience with the Barker...Becky was an absolute pleasure to work with coordinating and planning the event, and the staff the day of the event was fabulous. Felt like you had family watching out for you to make sure everything was "just right". All the guests loved their meals, and the appetizers. Soup to nuts, we could not have been happier!

The venue is beautiful, with a mix of historical charm and modern features (including the beautiful, renovated reception room) and the benefit of being 3 minutes from the lighthouse for pictures. But what made it really worth it, for us, is how much help with planning the team gave from day one. They helped keep us on track throughout the planning process, had a great team of partnered vendors that we could choose to work with (taking some of the decision burden off us), and were very clear about the entire timeline for the wedding day. Most importantly, this translated into a seamless and very organized wedding day experience. We didn’t have to worry about us, or our guests, having to “fix” things throughout the day as everything was taken care of. They were also one of the few venues that were willing to accommodate our very low guest count of 30 people. This venue may not be the right place for people who are foodies and expecting a 5-star meal, but the food was tasty and hot the day of and our guests seemed happy, so for the price, I’d say it was well worth it.

We were so pleased with everything for our wedding at the Barker in early September. The entire staff could not have been more polite, professional or attentive. We found it very easy to work with Becky and the rest of her staff for everything leading up to and through the day of the event. Leading up to the wedding, Becky was an asset to making everything run smoothly. She was able to answer all of our questions and made planning a breeze. She was able to recommend a DJ to us who had worked with her team in the past. This played a role (I think) in the event running so smoothly. Her staff was able to assist us in moving through each event of the night with ease. We were able to spend the night with our guests and did not have to worry about a thing.

The only thing that could have made our experience more positive would have been more flexibility with what we could try at the food tasting. We were thrilled with the food night of the wedding, but would have like if we could have sampled some more dishes at the tasting.

If you are looking to get married in a beautiful coastal town I cannot recommend the Barker Tavern enough!

I cannot recommend the Barker Tavern and Becky, their coordinator, more! My husband and I knew the moment we walked in that this was the venue for us. The history of the tavern was a huge draw right off the bat but the reception hall too was just so beautiful. It's light, airy, romantic and so versatile. We also loved that it was a family run business - everyone is involved and so accommodating and kind. It also helped that the price was just right, in fact I feel like we got more than we paid for which is hard to say in the wedding business. We also had a relatively intimate wedding of 70 people, so it was a bit easier to keep costs down, but that being said, we were able to choose a more expensive package to provide the best experience for us and our guests. No matter what package you get though, one thing is for sure, THIS IS THE BEST FOOD YOU WILL EVER HAVE AT A WEDDING. I'm not kidding. Before I got married, I was in 16 weddings and went to over 25 and every single on of those brides that came to my wedding all admitted we had the best food and cake. WIN! (not that it's a competition, but still, it feels great that folks still comment on what a fun wedding it was over a year later and how delicious the food was). The Barker and its staff really do take the best care of you as a bride, going above and beyond to help you be organized and remove some unnecessary stress that is all part and parcel of planning a wedding.

Great venue! Becky is great to work with. She is very fair and helpful. We had a great reception. The room was beautiful. The food was excellent. The only drawbacks of the Barker is the lack outdoor space, no patio for guests. Overall, the venue is great though. No regrets.

I just got married here in November 2024. Overall, we very much enjoyed our wedding day, and it was beautiful. My constructive criticism is I do feel like there needs to be increased staffing, better quality control on the food (one table wanted prime rib from the buffet, and they ran out), and more water served to guests.

Guilty Bakery, the DJ, and the florals from Seaside Floral were terrific! I upgraded my florals, and to say I was happy was an understatement. She did a beautiful job! Lily was our day of coordinator and she did a great job as well!

After visiting many different venues on the South Shore, my husband and I decided to have our wedding reception at the Barker Tavern. We were not disappointed! The event room is gorgeous, the food is incredible, and the staff work very hard to make every moment the best day of your life. My only suggestion would be to confirm who is working with you during the evening of the big day so all the staff know exactly what your expectations are. The Barker Tavern is the most elegant venue for your wedding. The location of the historic estate is magnificent. The beautiful dining room is spacious with gorgeous windows and high ceilings. Your guests will feel so attended to from the minute they arrive. I loved the bride's suite upstairs where the wedding party gathered before the ceremony. Becky and staff were so professional. They orchestrated the timing of the event perfectly. Having the wedding AND the reception at the Barker was fantastic as it was flawlessly choreographed by their capable staff. In a blink of an eye, the Barker staff transformed our ceremony space into a dining area, all while our guests enjoyed a lively coctail hour, replete with music and h'or deurves. The wedding party took this time to have photos taken in the lush gardens outside. The air smelled like flowers and the sea; it was all so wonderful. The tables were lovely once the guests sat for dinner after our first dance. The food was divine. My guests raved about the exquisitely prepared plates. Then, the lighting was dimmed for the dancing which created a lovely ambiance for the festive party that followed dinner. By the time our guests left, we felt so at home and so entirely happy with our experience. We were all euphoric. Many of my family members exclaimed that this had been the best wedding ever and we feel that it was truly due to the stately historic venue, and the warmly inviting Barker Tavern staff.
