  Dream wedding

  I cannot express enough how amazing Barcelo Faro was for our beach front wedding. Over the past year Barcelo Grand Faro went through some transitions with the wedding department and hotel in general. So the reviews on this hotel vary significantly based on who or what was going on at the time. When booked in August of 2014, we had an amazing coordinator who worked out an incredible package for us, but she left and a new coordinator took over who was extremely disorganized and clearly not fit for the position. So many negative reviews on the hotel probably took place when she was there. Some time in March I believe, Karla and Stephanie took over and they are simply amazing! From the minute they took over, they put all my concerns at ease and addressed and and everyone concern! The day of my wedding everything was EXACTLY as I asked. Additionally the hote

  I have to agree with the comment before me! We had a sunset wedding on the beach with cocktail hour and dinner reception and it all turned out beautiful! We also originally worked with Christina Portillo as our wedding planner, which was not at all a good experience. She would not respond to any communications and apparently did absolutely nothing towards our wedding over the three months that we worked with her. We were so concerned about the service that we were considering changing venues.
  Thank God for Estela and Karla who have fully replaced Christina! They were able to plan our entire wedding again from scratch within about 1.5 months and they were fantastic! Communicating with them was easy as they provided us with a document where we filled in all of the information they needed for the wedding and they got to work. Upon reaching the Barcelo, they met with us immediately to ensure that everything was set correctly and that our wedding would be perfect. They are present from the start to the end of your wedding/reception should you need anything and they worked the whole time to make every detail perfect. Amazing!
  We had their Strawberry passion wedding package which turned out great. Some things were missing, however. Here's a list of what was supposed to be provided and what we actually experienced:
  
  Ceremony Location: Included tables with white linen, folding wedding chairs with colored sash and matt runner. (If you want the arch for beach weddings, it's available for about $200 more...didn't know that before).
  
  One room upgrade for entire stay (Got it!)
  
  Late check out (Got it!)
  
  Welcome amenity and VIP treatment (ehhhh, sort of? Easy check in I guess)
  
  80 min Massage Session (Got it and loved it!)
  
  Wedding Planner (Get Estela and Karla or buyer beware!)
  
  Justice of Peace/Minister (Had Diego and he did an amazing job! Gave him a script and he nailed it!)

  Loved the locatione. Puerto Vallarta is so pretty. The hotel is clean, with so much to do. We rented jet ski's, went on a night cruise, hung out by the pool, painted pottery, and wen zip-lining. The location is close to town, so it was inexpensive to get a cab in to the city.

  We did our destination wedding at Barcelo Grand Faro in San Jose Del Cabo. It was absolutely amazing and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Cynthia Sosa was my wedding planner and she was amazing from the get go. She called me to discuss all of their offerings, sent me emails with pictures of locations, decorations, centerpieces, flowers, the cake, all of the food choices, etc. She always was quick to respond which made me feel at ease since we had never been to the location and I did not know what to expect. We ended up bringing our own centerpieces, I showed her how I wanted them, and she did them all for me. I even chose to do my own schedule of events, welcome bags, and name tags for seating, and she set all of those out for me. All I had to do was give her the items and she did all the work exactly how I had wanted it. She was very on top of things and made it very easy for me to feel comfortable on my wedding day!
  She also organized for my makeup to be done (which was part of my wedding package). The people came out to do a test run and then adjusted based on what I wanted for the wedding day. The were very timely and did a fabulous job!
  Cynthia also booked our officiant (included in our package) who was wonderful! She was so sweet, took the time to come meet us and get to know us before, and was wonderful the day of. She made it very special.
  Our DJ (also included) also came to meet us before the event, got to know us, came for our rehearsal walk through, and played every request and song I had asked for on the day of our wedding! He was awesome and made it a very fun party!
  Our wedding package came with a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, wedding day ceremony and reception (LOTS OF INCLUSIONS), and we chose to add a beach bonfire with a dj the day after. Every single event was great and accommodating! I would definitely recommend this venue and especially Cynthia to anyone wanting to do a destination wedding! It was amazing!

  Working with Cynthia Sosa at the Hola Grand Faro was the best experience any bride could ask for. I can't even express how thankful and happy that she was the wedding coordinator for my wedding. During planning, she was always available for us, so pleasant and kind and always willing to do anything we needed. The months leading up to the wedding she was extremely responsive, she always got back to me right away, provided pictures and descriptions of anything I needed. Planning a destination wedding is hard but she made it very easy. I wanted to look for frames in Mexico and she went to the store for me and took pictures so I could get them when I got there, she even offered to go get them for us. Prior to arriving in Mexico, she made all the vendor appointments for us, she was there for all of them. When we didn't remember we had one she came and got us at the pool! She organized all the welcome bags for us and brought them to the reception desk only on the days the guests were arriving. She had a binder with everything that I had sent her and had all pictures and lists organized. She organized all the events prior to the wedding beautifully making sure we had space reserved for our party of 40-50. She was at the rehearsal and made sure everything on the wedding day went without a flaw. My make up and hair artist was late for my trial and Cynthia made sure to reach out to her to confirm that she would not be late on the wedding day because she wanted this to be the best day of my life. For the wedding day she took all my decorations and set everything up for me and at the end everything was perfectly organized and back in my room. She truly had a huge part in making it the best day and week of my life!! I would recommend a wedding at this resort to anyone who wants an amazing fun and stress free wedding. Thank you Cynthia!

  My wife and I Just got back from our honeymoon and couldn't wait to give Cynthia Sosa and Hola Gran faro amazing reviews for all that they did to make our wedding so enjoyable and low stress.
  
  We are from LA and chose to have our wedding in San Jose Del Cabo as it was close enough for easy travel, and a gorgeous tropical destination to have for a wedding. We specifically chose the Hola Gran Faro because we had traveled their once before and staff was so friendly and catered to our every need. Our wedding was on Septemeber 21, 2013 and although is was the rainy season we were blessed with beautiful, clear, sunny weather ranging from 70*F to 85*F.
  
  We had been dealing with Cynthia for about a full year before our wedding and she was always accommodating, patient and quick to respond, which was good as most the wedding was planned through email. Her professionalism and personality is first class. She catered to our every need, (there were plenty haha) and executed the rehearsal and wedding without a falter. The best compliment you can get is the one from your guests and to this day, all of them are still ranting and raving. We had 90 total people.
  
  Highlights of our wedding:
  -Organization and flow
  -Setup including flowers chairs hoopa décor
  -food presentation and taste (steak and lobster!)
  -Reception setup (customized floor, awesome lighting, white lounge furniture)
  -DJ, Music
  -Photo booth (by request)
  -Mariachis for the cocktail hour (8 well dressed extremely professional mariachis that played some great America songs too)
  -FIREWORKS!!!! 1+ minutes of legit 4th of july fireworks which blew our guests minds.
  -Bar setup and Drinks (they step up the service and presentation for the wedding)
  
  Overall I would highly recommend both Cynthia Sosa and Hola Gran Faro for your wedding and/or any event you might be planning in Cabo. We cant thank them enough for making our wedding day so special and memorable.

  Cynthia, our wedding coordinator, was very professional and responsive to our emails. At first my fiance had no luck calling the resort but when I emailed, I received a response almost immediately. All of our needs were met, such as a last minute request for an extra boutonniere and bouquet. The final touches exceeded our expectations and was a great surprise (e.g., centerpiece, signature cocktail, and music). We were able to make changes and additions to menus and event up to the day before the wedding. Our guests all had a great time and the food was fantastic.

  Cynthia went above and beyond to help make our special day absolutely perfect! Everyone had the time of their lives! Our friends and family were very impressed with how everything turned out and can't stop talking about how much fun they had! Cynthia was attentive and very helpful throughout our planning process. The staff was awesome and very accommodating. The resort is perfect for anyone dreaming of a beach wedding! I highly recommend!

  We loved everything about our trip to Hola Grand Faro. The weather was great, the food was great and the staff was Awesome! Our wedding day was everything we could have ever asked for! Cynthia was the most helpful wedding planner and made sure everything ran smoothly. Not one worry on our big day! She was quick at responding and everything was set up and carried out the way we had requested. It was a great experience that we have no regrets about. We would not have changed a thing about our wedding day! Super Happy!! Our families had a great time and cant stop talking about how beautiful our wedding was. The hotel grounds were beautiful and the 3 pools, and various restaruants made it a great resort to stay at :) We will definitely be back!

  Our wedding was everything we wanted and more! The wedding coordinator Cynthia was great, she was always on top of everything. She even helped us put out the decorations we brought from home. I was very pleased with the way everything was coordinated with the outside vendors. Being a "Bride to Be" not having to worry about putting the wedding together, put me at ease. Even the DJ was great at incorporating all ages groups into joining us on the dance floor! Having a wedding on the beach is surreal as all the pictures online, but I would definitely recommend going with the Mariachi band, its set the them for the whole trip. In conclusion, I was overall extremely satisfied with Hola Grand Faro!

  Cynthia Sosa, our wedding coordinator, took the stress out of pulling off a destination wedding. She is extremely responsive via email and answered all of our many questions during the months long process. The day of the wedding I saw her at breakfast and she was there at the end of the evening at 11:30 p,m. The location is spectacular and the set up was flawless. She helped coordinate with our florist, photographer and supervised the set up, from the coverings on the chairs for the ceremony to the beautiful dance and bars for the reception and decorated the tables exactly as we had asked.   We got married at Barcelo Grand Faro los Cabos last weekend and the whole event was amazing. Coordinator Berenice was nice, professional and gave lots of good suggestions to make the day just right. We had 30 guests including 4 groomsmen, bridesmaids and a flower girl. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the flowers gorgeous and the DJ super fun and kept the night flowing just right. I loved it and in the end, Berenice kept the whole thing stress free.

  Veronica at the Barcelo Grand Faro is amazing. I had a lot of anxiety over not knowing how it would all turn out. I sent Veronica my request's and selections and with very little communication she got it perfect. I was stressing over things for NO reason. Veronica get 5 stars!! The property was clean and beautiful. My only suggestion would for a sign to be put out for the guest in the pool area to know there is a wedding in progress. Their was a very loud belligerent girl in the pool off of the terrace where my wedding was yelling throughout my ceremony, and its very clear on my wedding video. To her defense she had no idea there was a wedding happening on the other side of the pool.
  The only negative was the Barcelo bars close early, and a couple of the older bartenders were not friendly and would close with 25 guest wanting drinks.

  Our wedding couldn't have been more perfect! Cynthia and her team not only carried out our requests perfectly, they also took care of certain things that we had totally forgot about like passing out water to our guests before the ceremony and having cocktails ready to tray pass the moment the ceremony was over. Everything looked just like or even better than the pictures! We'll be back for an anniversary or two!

  We had a wonderful stay and even better time at our wedding. All of the services were exception, including the bakery, lighting & decor, and flowers, except for one.   Fun, Laid back wedding weekend!

  We had so much fun on our wedding weekend at Barcelo Gran Faro.
  
  Let me just start by saying we had our wedding there site unseen which i was extremely nervous about. We did have our wedding planner at the resort quit a few months before the wedding, but Rubi, our new planner picked up where we left off and everything went off so well! Let me just say that they are on "island time" so dont expect to get super quick responses. After talking to multiple brides, this should be expected when planning a destination wedding.
  
  Once we got to the hotel, we had a meeting with the planner and we went over everything which made me feel much more comfortable. The staff was absolutely amazing.
  
  Two things i didnt confirm which i really wish i had were the tables and chairs for the ceremony and the cocktail hour. I had wanted brown chairs instead of white, but i think that may have been missed when they switched wedding planners.
  
  For the cocktail hour they had chosen royal blue table cloths which 100% didnt match my wedding theme (apparently im the only one who noticed) so i would just make sure to confirm that, as the cocktail hour wasnt something i had even thought about discussing (im not very organized, thats why a destination all in package was my jam).
  
  The moment the ceremony was over the party started. the mariachi band was 100 times better than what i had expected, and also had fireworks which wasnt just a couple of fireworks, it was a legit Finale. Seriously awesome, everyone was stoked about them.
  
  Everything flowed very well and we had a blast all night!

  We were so excited to have our wedding at Barcelo Grand Faro. It has now become a game of 'when will they get back to us with answers'? Since the very beginning, its has been one struggle after another. Now, the website isn't working, the 'group code' has never worked, and we signed a contract guaranteeing a 'group rate'. (Apparently, the 'group rate' is the lowest online rate that you find and use). Considering we are bring so much business to the hotel, you would expect a definite 'group rate' or at least transportation from the airport. Our guests are at a loss, not knowing how to reserve rooms without the website functioning. Making reservations directly through the hotel via phone is $300 more than the unusable website, not to mention they don't return calls when promised. Not only that, but they refer any wedding reservations to the coordinator, THAT YOU CANT FIND and doesn't answer questions when she does respond. It's been a game of 'pass the buck'.
  
  As of now, I highly discourage this venue. it has been nothing but difficulties. I'm tempted to show up there just to have someone talk to me and answer questions.
  
  I'm not hard to please, but I sincerely hope this hotel impresses me, and I'll be back to revoke my unhappy review at this time.

  Hello! I would like to start out by saying I have not yet had my wedding at this resort and will update this review after my wedding next month. My fiancé and I have never been to Cabo before so we used this site to help us select our wedding resort. We were a bit nervous planning a wedding from a different country but had our hearts set on a destination wedding so when we saw how amazing the wedding reviews were on this site (and after a bunch of research on different resorts) we felt like we were in great hands.
  
  Since we signed the contract a little more than a year ago we have gone through several wedding coordinators. Our wedding is next month and very little has been planned. I have sent multiple emails to the current wedding coordinator, along with multiple follow-up emails but still do not get a response for 3 plus weeks, if at all. I am more than a little concerned our wedding is not going to be what we are hoping for just because nothing has been confirmed. I also feel like I am doing more on my end and bringing a lot more stuff with me as I do not trust that certain things will be available to us once we arrive.
  
  I personally think this is very unprofessional considering how much we are spending on the wedding alone and that doesn't include the money they are profiting on from the 50-ish guests that are coming to our wedding and staying at the resort. I do think the wedding coordinator is over-worked and that she should at the very least have an assistant to respond to e-mails, etc.
