Working with Barbarah for wedding photography was a dream. When showing potential photography vendors to our families, they unanimously voted for Barbarah based on the strength of her portfolio. The day of, Barbarah and her husband were both calming and a source of positive energy, providing encouragement and suggestions for "poses," though nothing felt overly posed or unnatural. They diligently captured all of the shots we asked of them, and provided us a sneak peek less than a week after the wedding! Even from the sneak peek, Barbarah did an excellent job of capturing moments of joy and beauty throughout the first look and our wedding. She also made sure that even the most stunning shot felt candid and true to us as a couple. We cannot wait to see the full album, as we are already thrilled with the limited preview she generously provided. -

My husband hired Barbarah to capture our surprise proposal and from that moment we knew we didn’t want anyone else to photograph our wedding. She has a cinematic style that captures the true moments that are happening vs. those that are rehearsed or posed. That being said, if you don’t feel super comfortable or awkward in front of the camera she goes above and beyond to guide you and be your hype girl! Her work alone is 1000% worth every penny, but the calm, super friendly vibe she brings to each session and your special day really takes her over the top. She was so flexible when we changed our engagement photo location last minute even though it required her waking up at 3:00 AM to catch the sunrise with us. She captured our wedding day more beautifully than we ever could have imagined, we would choose her and Matias (her wonderful husband and second shooter!) over and over again!! I still haven’t stopped looking at our gallery and our friends and family have been raving over them as well. The photos are so beautiful and everything were hoping for! She makes every shot magazine worthy! She is amazing, we can’t recommend her enough. -

I can’t speak more highly of Barbarah and her wonderful husband (and second shooter), Matias. They are true creatives at their core and I can’t think of anyone I’d trust more to capture such a momentous life event.
Aside from being the most professional, efficient, and artistic humans, they are the kindest souls that make you feel at ease behind the lens. From our initial consultation call, to our wedding day, and all the helpful questionnaires in between, my husband and I felt supported throughout the entire process. Barbarah is extremely organized and efficient, leaving no detail unturned.
We are so grateful to have such a special keepsake that will allow us to relive our wedding day for years to come. Barbarah and Matias’ photos truly convey every emotion we felt that day and more. My new husband and I are already finagling ways to work with Barbarah again! -

The best wedding investment we made was forgoing video and hiring Barbarah to capture our day. We will forever treasure her gorgeous photos that perfectly tell our story and portray the joyous vibes of our wedding. We wanted a documentary-style photographer with an artistic style, NOT basic - someone who wouldn't make us do all the awkward wedding day poses - and we searched the DMV far and wide to find the perfect fit. Barbarah was a dream to work with for engagement photos (driving across Virginia to our preferred location), a secret boudoir shoot, and our wedding day. She was always kind and calm, a pleasure to have around, and gave helpful direction without being bossy. Bonus was having her husband Mathias join as her second shooter - so fun to have their happy, supportive, loving couple energy alongside us on our wedding day! -

The entire process with Barbarah was so easy and fun! She’s the most likeable person and makes it so easy to get a good picture in her presence because she effortlessly puts people at ease and gives great direction. To top it off, the photos she takes are SO GOOD. She was my husband and I’s favorite wedding vendor by far and we’ll recommend her to everyone until we can’t anymore. Just hire her! She’s the best. Her husband was also incredible as a second shooter on the day of our wedding. Dream team! We love you Barbarah! -

The coolest, sweetest, all-around best person and to top it off, an AMAZING photographer. We used Barbarah for our engagement and wedding photos, along with a boudoir shoot. We've never felt more comfortable or seen as "us" by someone. Every time we get previews our jaws drop. She is so incredibly easy to work with and professional. We'll never stop using her for our life events! -

We are so happy we found Barbarah for our engagement photos. She spent time with us on a Zoom call to get to know us and learn our style and vibe, and then suggested perfect shoot locations in Shenandoah. Our photos are downright stunning and even now, months and months later, we still have friends bring up how gorgeous they are and swoon. Barbarah is absolutely lovely to work with, you'll have fun! -

Love!!!!!! Photos for a lifetime
There just aren’t enough words to possibly describe how amazing each and every photo that Barbarah snaps. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting and of course capturing the feeling of each moment. She has captured the most special moments of our wedding day. I would never hesitate to recommend her to anyone who wants a true professional to create a customized photography experience!! Barbarah is the absolute best of the best. She is worth every single penny. We loved her so much she is so sweet, encouraging, and talented. We had a great experience with Barbarah and her assistant! She immediately made us feel comfortable and she got along great with our videographer. It was very cold on our wedding day and she found a great room within our hotel where we could take our wedding portraits. Nothing like a last minute change of schedule! Barbarah even let me borrow her coat between shots so I wouldn't freeze. After the wedding, we received an awesome sneak peak within 2 days and it had all the key shots we wanted to be able to share on social media. True to her word, she got us the full set of photos one month later. I would highly recommend Barbarah! -

Barbarah came recommended to me by a co-worker of mine. My fiancé and I had Barbarah shoot our engagement photos where we live -Old Town, Alexandria. We are getting married up in Newport, RI, so it was important to us that our engagement shots capture the life we have outside of the D.C. area. Barbarah not only captured the essence of Old Town in the fall, but she captured my fiancé and my personalities in the photos. The smiles that were on our faces are the smiles we give to each other every day. Friends and family, some of which are professional photographers themselves, raved about how Barbarah really captured our connection and love through the photos. Her editing always amazes me and I just love her style. Had I not already chosen a local photographer to shoot our wedding, I would have happily asked Barbarah. Thank you, again! -

Where do I begin...Barbarah, was the most incredible wedding photographer I could ask for. From the day we met her she was warm and inviting as if we were family. During the planning process she sent us wonderful emails and texts to see how we were doing, she even bought us something off of our registry, which was incredibly thoughtful. On the day of my wedding I was rattled with nerves, some major things had gone wrong, but Barbarah was so calm and she honestly help keep the flow of our wedding. When I saw the final images, I had just landed in Miami on my way to my honeymoon. We had a 3 hour layover in Florida before our next destination. You know what we did for three hours! We swooned over her sneak peak images of our special day! For 3 hours! (Husband is a photographer himself) They were so dreamy and I didn’t remember that I was so frazzled that day. Barbarah, In all her wonder, managed to capture every moment of joy on our faces and none of the frazzled nervousness. 😂 I’m so grateful to her for sharing her art with us and making our wedding day that much more special. -

Barbarah is AMAZING! I got engaged one month after Barbarah shot at my sister’s wedding in June 2018, and knew immediately that I wanted to hire her for my own as well. She makes every photoshoot so fun and so comfortable, even if you don’t anticipate feeling very comfortable in front of the camera, you will. Barbarah has the best tricks to loosen you up and just have fun with the experience, which in turn makes you look much more natural in photos. She truly cares about her customers – making sure that you are as organized as possible for your wedding day, but also extremely go with the flow and can tell when you’re done with the formalities and just want to party 😊. I would recommend Barbarah one million times over! -

The best photographer!
Barbarah did both our engagement photos and wedding photos. She is friendly, easy to work with, professional and fun! Our photos turned out beautiful and she got them back to us super quickly! Barbarah is open to doing fun and silly photos along with the serious ones. She happily embraced our two dogs and horse being in our engagement photos and worked well with our personalities. Definitely consider using Barbarah for your wedding or any other event, you won't be disappointed! -

Barbarah is an absolute joy to work with. I was immediately drawn to the look of her photos - she's a true artist and catches the smallest, most wonderful candid moments. She was so kind and supportive through the whole process. I still find myself looking through all the photos on a regular basis. They're absolutely wonderful and everything I was hoping for. My favorite thing about Barbarah's style is how you can feel the emotions in every shot, and it's been so nice reliving the love and joy from that day. -

She knew exactly what we wanted captured in our special day and just went for it. We have only seen the previews but my husband and I were BLOWN AWAY! Our friends and family could not stop commenting on the photos she was able to get. It's so important to feel comfortable with the person photographing your special day. She was so kind, responsive, helpful, and easy to work. She quickly became a part of our family!
The turn around time was incredible! She sent us some previews the NEXT morning... and we can't stop looking at them!
We can't say enough great things about Barbarah! We look forward to having her capture more of our special moments in the future!

Her photo style is gorgeous, her technique artistic yet approachable, and her hustle is unparalleled. Oh, and did I mention that she still shot our wedding FIVE days after giving birth to her precious babe? She is a true professional. You will not regret hiring Barbarah, she’s worth every penny and more (and still affordable!).

Barbarah is an incredible person. Once you start your journey with her she’s with you every step of the way. We postponed our wedding, went through a deployment, and a serious dose of family drama and the whole time Barbarah was one of the only constants and our biggest cheerleader. She’s more than one of your vendors, she loves openly and wholly and the photos she captures are a testament to how much she cares about her couples. We hate taking photos but we love being with her.
