Such a beautiful venue
It was so amazing to have our wedding at Balcony Downs! The venue is absolutely beautiful with the mountains in the background! They have 3 houses on the property that family and the wedding party stayed at. This allowed us to have a wedding weekend it was such an amazing place! -

The venue is beautiful, even in the late winter early spring. The event barn is big enough to have a wedding inside if the weather is not good for an outdoor wedding. The outside has so many choices with beautiful backgrounds to almost any direction that you choose. We are from about three hours from the venue, which caused a little anxiety, but we had such good communication with the owner that some of the stress was decreased. She answered our calls when we had questions and called us back in a timely fashion. The manor house is beautiful, and the bridal suite was a nice feature. -

Our sorority had a formal here; the venue was large, was clean, had nice seating and tables along with heaters! The decorations were beautiful and we had an amazing time! -

Long story short, we were double booked at our original venue and we found out the night before we got married. When I tell you, Celeste and her husband did everything they could to ensure we would have an absolutely beautiful wedding I mean it! They went above and beyond for us, so much so, that they opened their venue to us during their closed season. They allowed us to come to the venue at 9:00am for us to begin to figure out the plan. They helped us decorate and everything, it truly was an all hands on deck kinda deal. We used the barn (it was even heated!!) for both our reception and ceremony, and had no more than 40 guests. We were lucky enough to get our dj, caterer, and photographer to our new location and we had the most amazing time! I do not know what we would’ve done without them, not only is the venue gorgeous but Celeste and her family are genuinely some of the sweetest and most helpful people you will ever meet! If I could do things all over again, I would in a heartbeat. My husband and I will be forever grateful for them and I would recommend them a million times over. -

Balcony downs saved the wedding!
After a scheduling mishap was discovered by the original venue 8:30pm the night before the wedding day, Balcony Downs opened their entire venue after they were closed for the season and helped jump through hoops to give the bride and groom their perfect wedding day! The venue is beautiful, diverse, and unique. They exceeded all expectations and went above and beyond. We can’t thank them enough for rescuing the day! HIGHLY recommend this venue!!! -

November Wedding
I got married here in November and it was absolutely perfect! The house was plenty big to get ready in and very clean! The views are breathtaking. The reception barn is big enough to fit all your loved ones and beautiful with all the lights! The owners of this venue were very nice and helpful in accommodating to all of our needs. Brides to be: I 100% recommend!! -

We can't say enough good things about Balcony Downs Venue & Retreat!
My husband and I are a wedding photographer and videographer team, and we've had the pleasure of capturing weddings at various venues throughout the country, but Balcony Downs stands out as one of the most extraordinary locations we've ever worked at. This venue is a photographer/videographer’s paradise, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and unique features that enhance every shot. There are various looks around the property that you can use throughout your wedding! From the unique Ruins, to the Manor House with a gorgeous bridal suite, to the event barn, and everything else in between, there's nothing better than having so many options! It doesn't end there because being surrounded by mountains all around is something special in and of itself. And I must say, we've seen Balcony Downs during every season, and it's truly beautiful all year long!
In addition to the actual venue, working with the team at Balcony Downs is also something you are guaranteed to enjoy! Their team is responsive, genuine, kind, and accommodating. For us, we have seen this both from the vendor side as well as the client side when we booked their event barn for a baby shower. They are just a great group of people who care a lot about their venue and the people they have the pleasure of serving.
All in all, if you want your wedding venue to be better than words can describe, look no further than Balcony Downs! It's the perfect place to start your happily ever after! -

The perfect spot to tie the knot!
The wedding venue is breath taking and insanely accommodative. There’s enough room for your family and wedding party to stay on the property. The bridal suite is the perfect spot for you and your bridesmaids to get ready all together. Morgan went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly, taking the stress of our shoulders. Couldn’t recommend a better place to have a beautiful wedding! -

A Wedding to Remember
Celeste and her husband, Daniel, along with the rest of the Balcony Downs staff, made my wife’s dreams come true with the locations and decorations etc that came with the Balcony Downs experience.
We opted to rent out the cottages and the big house for friends and family, specifically immediate family and the wedding parties. We had our ceremony on the immense lawn facing the beautiful mountains. We were wed on October 23, and the fall colors were amazing. The weather, though it can change quickly in the South, was in our favor and we enjoyed cool mornings and a sunny afternoons all weekend. There is just so much history and so many locations to this property to see and enjoy. It also lends itself to numerous photo opportunities. It was just such a rich and thoroughly enjoyable time. Something that our guests and ourselves have never forgotten. We still talk about jt to this day, just how fun it was to all get together and celebrate our wedding over 3 days on this historic and one of a kind property.
There are many wedding venues to choose from, but none have the history, charm and beauty of this place. We cannot recommend it enough. -

Amazing property and venue
This venue was perfect for our wedding day and we received so many compliments on how beautiful our venue was from our guests! Everything ran smoothly and there have been many more improvements since our wedding to this venue. I can only imagine how amazing someone else’s “big day” would be here! -

My husband and I got married at Balcony Downs in October of 2021. To say that we had a magical experience would be an understatement. Firstly, the venue is absolutely breathtaking. The foliage was just starting to turn, making it a picture perfect backdrop to our fall rustic wedding theme. Absolutely nothing beats the colors of the changing of the seasons in Virginia! The manor house provides a unique and intimate experience as you feel like you are traveling back in time once you walk through the doors. It was the most amazing experience for someone looking for a traditional southern wedding. Our guests were welcomed in the manor home along side the two other beautiful cottages on the property and we must say we were surprised at the level of dedication and care put in to make everyone feel warm and welcomed. They were immaculately clean, cozy and spacious enough to fit all of our guest and provide enough room for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to prepare for the big day. The fact that the venue is conveniently located on the property is a HUGE plus in terms of having a stress-free wedding experience! In terms of the venue, what looks like a typical “barn” on the outside proves to be the most beautiful aspect of all once you open the sliding doors. Decorated with beautiful chandeliers, warm lights and huge amounts of space to accommodate a large wedding with lots of room to dance and party! The coolest part were the multiple bonfires located just outside of the venue that our guest were able to enjoy as day turned to night and the party continued on! The management of the venue were SO awesome to work with as they made a point to always be there to help and answer any questions or concerns we had! Huge thank you to Celeste and Morgan for being such incredible hosts! Overall, I think Balcony Downs goes above and beyond to meet every single five star rating it has received and I would recommend it to anyone looking to have a beautiful, stress-free and magical wedding experience! -

Beautiful serene wedding venue!!
We had our daughters wedding here. It was our first venue we visited and before we left my daughter said “I really want my wedding here.” Morgan was a dream to work with. Always reassuring me. We rented the whole place all weekend. It is beautiful, stunning actually and authentic. Each home has character and stories and charm in its own right. The event barn has full kitchen and bathrooms. Fire pits on each side. Beautiful photo ops and spaces to sit relax and enjoy the beautiful mountains it rest against. My daughter said she wished we could do that every weekend. Completely loved it and Morgan and Celeste were a dream to work with. 5 stars from us.❤️ -
