  Highly Recommend! The most amazing, professional and talented makeup and hair vendor that I have ever worked with!

  I have so many amazing things to say about Backstage! Working with them was one of the LEAST stressful parts of planning my entire wedding and they brought their talents and fun energy on the day making it all just a dream.
  
  To start, Alejandra was responsive, informative, a clear communicator and super organized. I speak English and was worried about communication, but she speaks perfect English and that was a non issue. The prices were extremely reasonable and even offered some promotions that helped me out with my budget!
  
  This is all without saying how incredibly talented the artists are! I always feel misunderstood by makeup artists and don't love how I look with professional makeup, or that I don't feel like "me". Alejandra was different. She listened and offered suggestions and made me look better than I literally ever could have dreamt! The other stylists were equally as talented and truly worked magic. For the trial (which I did the day of our Welcome Party), they came to my hotel which so convenient, and even restyled me for the party so I looked different. This was such an amazing perk since there is no way I could have made myself look as great as they did.
  
  I summary, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Backstage, they will make your wedding day so much better with their calming and fun energy and then of course make you look like an actual goddess!!!

  Loved our experience!

  Absolutely loved how all of our hair and make up turned out! I felt it was a great value and wouldn’t change anything! They gave me exactly what I wanted which was a soft and ethereal look. If I could book backstage hair and make up again, I would!!

  Backstage Hair and Makeup for bride and bridal party

  Backstage Hair and Makeup beyond exceeded my expectations for my bridal hair and makeup. They did hair and makeup for myself, my 5 bridesmaids and mother. The results were seriously stunning. I looked better than all of the inspo pics I showed them. They were friendly, fun, and professional and kept us on schedule for the day. Our hair and makeup lasted all day and all night long, even withstood the heat and humidity of the beach ceremony and dancing for hours. They made my wedding dreams come true and I would highly recommend them! Our artists were Alejandra, Adan, and Karen

  Loved my wedding makeup & hair

  Alex and her team did amazing! They were able to get myself and all seven of my bridesmaids plus the MOG and MOB looking phenomenal. My makeup and hair stayed all night despite it being 100 degrees and the airbrush on all of us looked amazing! Could not recommend them more! So professional, fun, and do amazing work!!

  Best decision I made

  I cannot recommend Backstage Hair & Makeup enough! From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive and attentive, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. They did such a wonderful job not just on me, but on my entire bridal party; including the mother of the groom, mother of the bride, and grandma of the groom. Everyone was thrilled with their looks!
  
  Even in the heat, our makeup stayed flawless and beautiful all day. It was so natural and enhanced each of our features perfectly. Many in our party had been hesitant about makeup due to past experiences, but it was such a refreshing experience to work with professionals who truly listen to their clients while also knowing exactly how to highlight each person’s unique beauty.
  
  Their talent, professionalism, and warmth made getting ready for our wedding an absolute joy. We felt pampered, confident, and radiant, and I am so grateful for their incredible work!

  Couldn’t Have Asked for Better, 10/10

  Backstage was amazing, Alejandra and Adan were truly a dream team! Not only are they incredibly talented, but they’re also just the kind of people you want around on your wedding day- calm, kind, fun, and so easy to be around. I changed my mind on the hair and makeup look I had originally picked, and they didn’t bat an eye, they adjusted with total grace and made sure I felt confident and beautiful. They kept the vibe relaxed and positive in the suite, kept us all on schedule, and got everyone looking amazing! Couldn’t recommend them more!

  Incredible Team!

  Alex and her team were truly phenomenal! From the moment they arrived, they brought such a calm, fun, and positive energy to the room—it completely set the tone for the day. They worked efficiently and flawlessly, making sure everyone felt beautiful and confident, all while staying ahead of schedule. Every hairstyle and makeup look was stunning and held up perfectly through the entire celebration.   I had the good fortune of finding Backstage Hair & Makeup to help my sister and her 3 little girls get ready for an important occasion. Johair and Ely did a fabulous job!   Excellent and unforgettable experience

  Alex and her teammate Adan are incredible. They saved my sister’s wedding. I found Alex in Wedding Wire app but then contacted her through WhatsApp and she responded promptly. Alex is so knowledgeable and has years of experience. She did an amazing job with doing the style I wanted and her recommendations with timing were on point. Alex is highly professional and her English is perfect. She has great taste and she is very gentle. Alex is a true artist. She is working on a masters in colors. I couldn’t find a better makeup artist. I’ll use her in my future events wherever I go. I highly recommend Backstage and I assure you will be a happy costumer like me and my entire family. The products she uses are high quality. Even her playlist and the ambiance she creates is next level and created a whole unforgettable experience.

  Amazing dream team!

  I cannot recommend them enough!! Alex and Adan were the dream team for hair and make up! Alex is so knowledgeable about make up- what products to use and what works best for different skin types, hair colors and eye colors. The airbrush makeup she used made my skin look flawless and it lasted all night in the heat without getting cakey. Adan was the hair wizard and was able to get my pin straight hair to hold a curl all night long! Everyone loved their hairstyles!!

  Made me feel beautiful

  I highly recommend them for your hair and makeup needs! They have high quality makeup, and even used airbrushed makeup that I have never tried. My makeup was flawless for my wedding! I am so picky when it comes to my hair and they absolutely nailed it as well! On top of it all they were so fun and friendly to be around, we had a great time during my trial as well as my wedding day. They were always responsive during the booking phase and easy to get a hold of. Thank you guys so much for all you do and did for us!

  Dream team!!

  HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I spent probably 10 hours researching companies off of instagram tags and posts. Being a US bride without the ability to do a trial until the week of was a little nerve racking. I’m so happy I went with my gut and booked this team! Compared to other artists I have been involved with as a bridesmaid this is the most efficient and skilled team I or my friends have had the pleasure of working with! My hair and make up was flawless and lasted all night even through the post reception clubs. Besides the obvious talent the team brings good energy and vibes Alex was a dream to work with and met all of my requests including an extra stylists so we could complete all 8 looks in 4hours. You won’t regret booking this team!

  Do not hesitate to hire Backstage H&M!

  At the last minute I hired Backstage H&M after a failed hair & makeup trial at my hotel salon (Cancun, MX). The hotel artist did not understand my skin tone nor eyes and it showed in the results. There's an inclination to work with artists of the same cultural background for this reason. But make no mistake, a trained professional is a trained professional and that is Alex. She exceeded all my expectations. Alex took great care in understanding and accentuating everyone's individual features. She was extra sensitive when working with my elderly mother and MIL. She walked us through every step and addressed all of our concerns/requests. Everyone's hair and makeup looked flawless. All of the female guests at my wedding took notice. My bridesmaids and I had a blast hanging out with her and Karen (hair). I am so grateful to her and Karen for making the day go smooth.

  Perfect hair & makeup

  I chose them based on reviews and pics from their instagram and liked the hair/makeup they had done for others. I’m so happy I used them. They did an amazing job with hair and makeup. I had wanted a kind of natural look but elevated and they did just that. Everyone was really happy with how their hair & makeup turned out. Also, I was definitely sweating a lot dancing and I feel like the makeup held up pretty well! I would highly recommend them.

  You Will Love Backstage!

  We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Backstage. Even during my trial, it was clear to see Alex and Adan are passionate about their craft and are true artists. They listened to what I wanted and helped create a look that beyond exceeded my expectations and lasted through wind, rain, and lots of dancing. They were also incredibly kind and professional. Alex provided suggestions for alternative trial locations to avoid high resort vendor fees, went out of her way to make sure I had transportation back to my resort after the trial, and made me feel so confident throughout the experience. We couldn’t recommend Backstage enough!

  So amazing!! Everyones hair and makeup was perfect!!

  I cannot say enough amazing things about that team and their work!!! The entire experience was wonderful and made my wedding morning so at ease and relaxing. My makeup was absolutely stunning and was so good it stayed on perfectly until the next morning. Hair was amazing as well, it was exactly what I wanted but even better! It also stayed perfect until I took it out. I also had 6 bridesmaids, two flower girls and two moms get their hair and makeup done and everyone was so happy! It was also all completed with just enough time to spare!

  Alex and Karen saved my wedding day

  Alex and Karen saved my wedding. Not only did they provide me with my dream hair and make-up, they helped me find a last minute photographer 3 hours before I was supposed to walk down the aisle. When I started having doubts about the photographer I originally selected, Alex and Karen stepped in to make me feel validated as well as help me problem solve. They called all of the professional contacts they could and ultimately helped me book a same day photographer that gave my husband and I our dream photos. These ladies truly went above and beyond in every way, and I couldn't be more appreciative of them. They made me and my wedding party feel so special and beautiful. Don't hesitate to book them for your event!

  Book them NOW!

  Backstage hair and makeup went above and beyond for our wedding! They met us at our air bnb (which they let us know they’d need an access code to get into, something our host didn’t even tell us)! Accommodated what everyone wanted for their hair and makeup, and gave helpful suggestions for keeping it nice throughout the day.
  
  Everyone who had their hair and makeup done absolutely LOVED the entire experience. The looks lasted all day in the Mexico heat.
  
  Do not hesitate to book this wonderful team for your big day.

  The ulimate glam squad!

  Alex and her team are amazing! They met us at the resort where we were having our destination wedding and left me and my 7 bridemaids + mom + mother in law looking GLAM in a matter of a few hours. They use incredible product (including some magic sweatproof airbrush foundation that stayed on my face until 1am in Mexican heat) and can bring any look to life. I got SO many compliments through the night on both my hair and makeup. So glad that we trusted them to make us feel beautiful on our special day :)

  So professional and amazing 🤩

  I originally found backstage H&M from a review on a destination weddings Facebook group. The bride wrote awesome things about backstage H&M and the pictures of the hair and makeup looked great. I was nervous about having a destination wedding and getting my hair and makeup done at the resort, not knowing your artist until the week of. Feeling gorgeous on your wedding day was too priority to me. I can deal with other things going wrong, but how I feel and look on the day of was not something I was willing to gamble on. I’m so glad I chose Backstage H&M. They were very responsive and even were flexible when I was very wishy washy about whether I was going to have bridesmaids or not. I knew I wanted to book them right away, so I asked for pricing. I booked for bride +5 about 7 months prior to the wedding, still not sure if I was actually going to have bridesmaids and Alex was very understanding and willing to work with my indecisiveness. I did end up having my girls get ready with me and every one of them loved their hair and makeup. One girl was not fond of the hairstyle she chose and asked if she could get it re done, and the hair stylist completely re did it for her no problem which was super sweet. All of the makeup was PHENOMENAL. Alex knows what she’s doing. I’ve never felt more beautiful getting my makeup done. I’m usually nervous to get makeup done, I’ve never had that great of experiences. But Alex kills it. The airbrush is the way to go too. I looked at one of my bridesmaids at the end of the night and she looked the exact same as when she got out of the chair, hair and makeup on point. I was shocked. Also the team is very punctual, polite, and ready to make you fall in love with how you look. They make sure you are happy and willing to make changes upon request if needed. Although barely any changes needed to be made because they really are that good. I’m so happy I went with backstage H&M. Alex is so sweet she even sent me recommendations for restaurants in Tulum for my honeymoon week and she really just goes above and beyond. She feels like a friend now.

  Wedding weekend glam!!! Amazing from start to finish!!

  I could not recommend backstage enough. I had a 3 day wedding weekend including 2 hair changes the day of my wedding and they did so beyond seamlessly. I am a perfectionist when it comes to certain things like my wedding and they far exceeded my expectations!!! I honestly feel like friends/family with them now!! Alex (both are incredible) and Adan for hair is beyond!!! They are so talented!!!! From the bottom of my heart, they literally helped make all my dreams come true and I could not be happier!!!

  Flawless airbrush makeup

  We got married in Mexico last weekend and these ladies did a fantastic job-my hair and makeup looked amazing all night and survived the heat and humidity. Alex did my makeup and 100% nailed it. The airbrush looked so flawless and my makeup did not budge through the sweat, tears and rain! She was a pleasure to work with and listened to what I wanted. Jenny did my hair and it was perfect on the day of. I did a trial the day before and it was so helpful for me. I would highly recommend Backstage H&M for your wedding day!

  The most FAB Hair & Makeup Team

  I was absolutely blown away by the Backstage H&M makeup team. I may have been one of the only brides to not have any inspiration for what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like. They worked with me to narrow down my ideas days of and made me look like a super model, true artists. I've honestly never loved my look more, it was glam but natural - a perfect balance. Also my entire wedding party looked amazing, and everyone said it was the best hair and makeup experience they've ever had. Not to mention we had over 20 people getting services and our schedule was a mess, they were so patient and moved through everyone to keep us on time. Best of all, everyone on the team was so friendly and kind - making the wedding day getting ready moment a memorable experience. Thank you!!!

  Exceptional experience! Made me feel like the prettiest version of myself for my wedding events

  Absolutely flawless, efficient, and beautiful work with my makeup artist, Alejandra and hair stylist, Esperanza. I had come to Tulum from the states, so obviously did not get the chance to do hair and makeup trials beforehand. I blindly booked with this company based on the reviews and only a few phone calls discussing my goals. That can obviously be scary! Alejandra recommended we do the trial a few days before my wedding (which would serve as my welcome dinner look as well). The results came out incredible. These women singlehandedly changed my entire bridal experience with their magic! I am South asian and was wary of the caked on, overdone look typical of so many brides in my culture. The looks that these women created were perfect - stunning, stand out, but not hiding my natural self. I am also typically someone who likes to consult the experts for their opinion on what will be most flattering, while still giving a little direction (my color preferences etc). Alejandra and Esperanza took that guidance and created two beautiful looks, with their understanding of personality, facial features, outfit, etc- it felt very authentic. I and a few other women in my party required supplemental hair (extensions etc) which Esperanza blended so naturally and seamlessly! To add, they were both so flexible throughout the wedding day as my family added various requests for hair and makeup spontaneously. They successfully accommodated each request while still staying on time. They ran so efficiently without compromising quality. My whole party was so happy. Each woman had a different aesthetic, skin tone, age, etc - yet they all looked stunning. To add, backstage traveled to my location in tulum which was SO incredible since I did not book a bridal suite. My party had a lot going on on wedding day (between various ceremonial events, bridal brunch, and taking care of kids). This convenience meant a lot to all of us because each woman was able to pop in for 30 mins to an hour And go back to other things.
  Lastly it was just so fun working with Alejandra and Esperanza! It felt like quality girl time, chatting, listening to music, and hanging out, which cleared my mind and added some zen on wedding day. At the last minute my then fiancé misplaced our car keys and Alejandra kindly offered us a ride to my wedding venue! It was absolutely unexpected but saved our day. We were so grateful they treated us like dear friends throughout the whole process! Highly highly recommend.

  So happy I chose this team!

  About 6 weeks before my wedding in Cancun I got cold feet of using the makeup and hair stylists offered at the hotel spa and reached out to Backstage. Lucky for me, Alex and Denizli were available. They found time to come do a trial run with me as well before the big day. I really wanted a "natural, but better" look and I was so happy with the makeup that Alex did. She also did our mother's makeup and they both looked so beautiful and not over done at all. They both really listened to what everyone wanted and delivered results we were all happy with. The airbrush makeup did not budge or smudge and my hair stayed curled in the Cancun humidity. After my trial I was able to tell them any adjustments I wanted to make and they were very accommodating. They arrived early both days and communicated very well. I would definitely recommend this team for your big day!

  Top-notch hair & makeup service

  I searched WeddingWire for hair & makeup services for my October 2022 Tulum wedding and Backstage appeared in my searches pretty quickly.
  
  I'm so happy I found this awesome team!
  
  Working with Alejandra and Deniz was truly the highlight of the wedding weekend for me.
  
  We did trial hair & makeup (which I'm so so happy we did as that removed a lot of day-of stress), and I very quickly realized that not only they're both true professionals, but also just so fun and easy to talk to.
  
  My wedding party truly enjoyed working with them as well, and I have the warmest memories from the morning when we were getting ready. Thank you so much for making us look and feel so good and for all the great vibes.
  
  Hope we can work together again, I'm looking for an excuse to come back to Tulum and do a photoshoot or something :)

  Made me look like a Goddess, when I usually look like Chandler Bing

  Oh my gosh, this review has been a long time coming!!
  
  After a horrible experience being MOH a few years ago where the makeup artist had me looking like a prostitute that caters specifically to clowns, I was very nervous about getting my makeup done for my own wedding. I wanted to be able to recognize myself and look like 'me', but better!
  
  Alex 110% delivered! Using quality products, and amazing airbrush makeup that feels light but lasts though EVERYTHING! I'm telling you, myself and my wedding party walked over a mile around Hotel Xcaret taking photos. I cried through the ceremony. Hubs and I took photos on a windy beach. And then, after dinner. It RAINED. I mean, a straight downpour for about 30 minutes. Of course, my photographer (Jhankarlo Photography) being the amazing artist he is, asked if we were down to get some rain photos, and you bet your sweet bippy we were!
  After our amazing, superhero DJ (Audio Cancun) moved all his DJ equipment into a nearby cave, we then danced and partied hard for 3 hours.
  
  Now I'll be honest, I was expecting to look like the Joker when we got our wedding photos back. I mean, we danced face-up in the rain and between the humidity, the alcohol (I have rosacea in my face and it gets 2X more red when I drink), and sweating like pigs while dancing, I had little hope of the makeup looking anything like it did at the beginning of the day. BOY, was I wrong :) Backstage Hair & Makeup knows how to keep your face intact through ANYTHING Mexico can throw at you. Do yourself a favor, and hire this amazing team for your big day (or any day!)

  We were so happy with Backstage Hair and Makeup . Alex and her team were so friendly and professional, used great products to have us look so natural throughout our 4 day Indian wedding in Cancun.   Amazing experience

  I was originally going to use the resort spa for my hair and make up and last minute after hearing some horror stories I decided I needed to find a hair and make up vendor. I came to wedding wire and found backstage H&M and I’m so glad I did. Only I was getting my hair and make up done (no bridesmaids) so Alex had Emilia come to do my hair and make up so I didn’t have to pay a vendor fee for hair and another one for make up which was awesome. Amelia was super friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted! After my trial I had a couple of tweaks I wanted and she perfectly executed the change. Cancun is hot and humid and they do your hair and make up to make sure it stays looking nice. I’m still waiting for more photos but have provided some that show my hair and make up well. So happy with my experience and would highly recommend backstage H&M.

  Alejandra and her team did an absolutely amazing job! They made sure the day went smoothly (with 10 bridesmaids, the bride and my mom all getting makeup done) and were prepared for everything. Such genuinely nice ladies. They made sure me and all my bridesmaids felt special all day long. And the makeup looked AMAZING. Very natural looking and lasted all night in the extreme heat! Would definitely hire them all over again. Very Very Very pleased. Everyone Hire them!!!

  We LOVED Alex and her team!! They were prepared, on time, and so very friendly!! We all came with pictures and they matched make up and hairstyles exactly how we wanted!!   Alex and her team were absolutely incredible.   Talented and Professional

  I have had my makeup and hair professional done well over 30 times for various events. Backstage Hair and Makeup is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They made me feel absolutely stunning for my engagement photos, I am honestly disappointed I won't get to use them for my wedding since I decided to get married in Costa Rica.   Absolutely Flawless :)

  I am always a bit worried about getting professional H&M done as I typically end up looking too made up and not like myself at all. I am pretty picky when it comes to my hair and makeup so I decided to look for a vendor outside of my wedding venue. As this was a destination wedding for me, I had to rely solely on online reviews/photos. I decided to go with Alex and team, not only because of their great reviews/photos but also their responsiveness. I also really appreciated the flexibility when I had to change my original wedding date. There were no issues whatsoever and the team was very understanding. I got a H&M trial and Alex suggested scheduling it for the day of the rehearsal dinner (which was genius) as I was able to have my H&M done for the night. The team came to my hotel for the trial and even changed up my look so I wouldn't look the same the day of the wedding! Alex's makeup techniques were amazing - she managed to make me look flawless but still natural. My hair doesn't do well with humidity but I really wanted a specific, very sleek down-do and the products and techniques managed to keep my hair looking good for many hours on the beach. I can also say that every single one of my bridesmaids was extremely happy with their hair and makeup. Everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Can't thank Alex and the team enough for making me and my friends feel and look so beautiful for the best day ever!!

  Beyond thankful for Alex, Isaac and their amazing team! Backstage did our make up and hair for my wedding and rehearsal. Alex even arrived early to get set up, and she was so organized, thoughtful and flexible throughout our planning together.   A Wedding Day Must-Have

  A destination wedding has so many moving parts and it can be difficult to plan and book such intimate things like hair and makeup from afar. However, Backstage H&M was my easiest and best wedding decision. Communication with Alex was always timely and informative, and she was incredibly flexible with our ever-changing plans because of Covid shutdowns. Even when the resort presented us with challenges about having external vendors, she was so understanding and helpful in coming up with easy and stress-reducing options to make it easier on me. And the best part? Her work absolutely speaks for itself! I wanted a very natural look and she delivered- I looked like a very polished and glam version of myself for both days of events! My guests had nothing but compliments about my hair (shoutout to Ely!) and makeup, and I appreciated that I looked flawless in every single picture (professional to camera phone!)

  Amazing make up artist!

  Finding the right make up artist for our wedding was a huge challenge for me. I don't like to wear a lot of make up, so I wanted to ensure we found someone who didnt make my face too cakey! ALEX was amazing, OMG we were so pleased with her talents and how beautiful she made all us ladies look. She makes you feel comfortable and listens to what you are looking for.   I got married last week in Riviera Maya and Alex and her team were INCREDIBLE. Alex is so detailed and is a perfectionist at her work, and every single one of my girls looked beyond beautiful. They were so easy to coordinate with and answered all my emails almost immediately. Alex and yesenia came the day before my wedding to do a full makeup and hair trial and made me feel so relaxed! They even did an amazing different look for me for my rehearsal! I recommend them to any looking to feel amazing on their wedding day!!

  The Backstage team is WONDERFUL! They met us at the venue for my 7 bridesmaids, my mom, and my makeup AND hair and made it all seem so fun and easy. We looked and felt amazing all day and night.   UNBELIEVABLE experience with Backstage!

  I got married at the Dreams Riviera Cancun on December 7th. Last year, after doing some searching for an outside hair and makeup vendor, i came across Backstage. Alex, right of the jump was super friendly, very very sweet and extremely personable. We communicated over the course of the year before the wedding and she was so accommodating when there were tons of last minute changes. The day of the wedding was literally MAGICAL. We had Alex and Eugenia for make up and Johair and Selene for hair. All 4 of them were wonderful!! for the girls that got ready earlier who wanted a little touch up before the ceremony, they did it without a problem. I was not thrilled with the pictures i saw of the resort spa's hair and make up dept so thats why i opted to venture to an outside vendor and let me tell you, I am so happy i did and even happier that i chose Backstage. Their website was really professional and user friendly so that attracted me initially but i have to say it is a fabulous representation of Alex and her crew!
  FYI we had a big group getting services, 3 guests, myself as the bride, 6 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 1 flower girl. and it went nothing but SMOOTH.
  
  Prices very reasonable for that quality of services that you receive. It was more pricey than what the resort offered but you are talking a major difference in the quality and experience. you NEVER EVER EVER want to go cheap on hair and make up when it comes to a wedding. You will for sure regret it.

  Alex & Angie were incredible! They are so talented, and I could not be happier with how my bridal hair and makeup turned out. My whole bridal party looked stunning, and everyone was so thrilled with the results. Alex was very responsive to all of the communication leading up to the wedding, and offered a ton of flexibility with me on the day of. At the last minute, I was able to schedule a bridal touch up. Both Alex and Angie stayed much longer than expected to fix my hair and makeup midway through the day as the wind was stronger than we anticipated.   Genuine Artists

  I cannot believe how lucky I was to find Backstage HM for my wedding! Alejandra was so easy to communicate with and a total pro. I showed her and her colleague a Pinterest board of ideas and they created a dreamy hair and makeup look that was above and beyond what I could have imagined, glamorous yet subtle and natural. AND the look stayed in tact all night, even after I jumped into a cenote in my reception outfit! Also, they were a big hit with my girlfriends and family, my mom still brags about the lovely and talented makeup artist from her daughter's wedding!

  I hired Alex for my wedding on January 17th, 2019. Coming from Canada, I was nervous as I was unable to have a trial before, but I could not have been more pleased with how my makeup turned out.   Amazing hair & makeup team

  When I first decided to have a destination wedding in Mexico the thing I was most concerned about was who was going to do my hair & makeup. After reaching out to a few people I know who have also had weddings in Mexico, only one of the girls raved about her H&M team and that was Backstage (who also came highly recommended from my wedding planner as well.) I used Backstage for 3 events, one of them requiring 3 hair changes and was beyond happy with the outcome all 3 times. Alex just totally understood what I wanted done and everything came out perfect the first time around. My wedding party was also extremely happy with Alex and her team and I can't thank them enough for some how making my hair and makeup stay all night long even with the humidity. I can not recommend backstage enough to any brides and wish I already had my professional photos to share with everyone :)

  We loved everything!

  We could not be happier with our services from Alex and her team. There were a lot of bumps in our wedding planning but Alex and her team were the one constant that never let us down. She was responsive and even helped me through things that weren't her issue. She is very sweet and such a skilled artist. My makeup stayed on all night and my hair withstood the wind by the ocean. My bridesmaids got exactly the looks they were going for as well. She and her team of 2 other people were able to do hair and makeup for me, 5 bridesmaids as well as both mom's in 4 hours and made everyone look perfect. Thank you Alex!

  Alex and her team are amazing!!

  While it is difficult to try to find vendors in Mexico when I am planning from the states, when I saw the photos and reviews I knew I had to pick Backstage for our hair and makeup. Alex and her team were AMAZING, the pricing was very fair as well. Her team of 4 including herself did all 9 of our hair and makeup for my wedding. Everyone was thrilled at the outcome of their hair and makeup which never happens for that many girls! I wanted a more natural look and I definitely got that, but you can see my makeup in photo's and they made my eyes pop with still not putting too much makeup on. I would hire them again in an instant! Great experience with an amazing team. Thank you Alex!

  I can’t say enough about how great Alex and her team were! I wasn’t sure what to expect since I was traveling to Mexico from Boston for my wedding and unable to have a trial before booking Backstage H&M. Alex is an incredibly talented makeup artist and made everyone look so natural and beautiful. My hair came out exactly how I envisioned and the beach waves lasted all night despite the humidity. I have been in a lot of weddings and this was by far the best hair and makeup experience I’ve ever had! Thank you so much Alex!

  WOW! 3 little letters to describe an absolute dream company. From the very first email, Alex was so responsive and communication was a breeze. Alex and her team were punctual, sweet and bestof all KNEW THEIR STUFF. Every girl they touched turned into a model princess. I let Alex have full reign of my makeup ( artists do know best, leave it up to them!) and I was in absolute awe of what I saw in the mirror. I was a better version of myself, so natural, effortless and timeless. I know I can look back on my wedding photos at any point in my life and will be sure to still love my makeup. Selene did my hair and it was 100x better than the pinterest image I was gushing over for months leading up to the day. I can't thank or recommend Alex and her team enough for making me feel so confident, calm and beautiful on my wedding day. My only regret is that they arent based in NY so they can doll me up on the regular lol! Thank you yet again ♡

  I cannot say enough good things about Backstage H&M. We booked them for my wedding and I am so glad we did. Alex was so accommodating and flexible, even up to the last week when I had a few extra services I needed to add on. The girls were set-up and ready to go, right on time and did a fantastic job of keeping to the schedule. They are true professionals. Alex is an artist and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. Being the bride, I was nervous, anxious, stressed, but as soon as I sat down to have my makeup done by Alex, she immediately made me feel relaxed and calm. She had the perfect background music playing the whole time and was great to talk to and get to know. She did my mother's makeup and she looked beautiful! She did a great job of giving each girl exactly the look they want, fine-tuning it so you really felt like yourself. My makeup stayed on so well, even with the humidity, the sweat, tears, it really held up! For the hair.....WOW, Selene was incredible! We showed her pictures and she recreated the exact look, if not better. My mother-in-law has very naturally curly hair and was so nervous about what to have done with it. Selene gave her a beautiful up-do, and my MIL was so happy, she cried! Selene did my (now) step-daughter's hair, who's 10, and it looked amazing. For my hair, I showed her a photo and she made my hair look better than I could have imagined. I was so happy! If you're in the Tulum/Playa Del Carmen/Cancun area....I cannot recommend this wonderful team enough. There's not one bad thing I could say, Backstage H&M is the best!

  Backstage Hair & Make Up went above and beyond our expectations. Planning a destination wedding can be difficult because you can't meet any one prior to your big day. I read countless reviews and I am so thankful I found Backstage.
  
  From the first email, Alex was always very clear and flexible. She took time to answer my questions and was always very quick to respond.
  
  The day of my hair and make up trial I had to meet with another vendor and was running very late to meet Alex & Sandy. When I showed up, they were still very professional and made the whole experience very fun. They took their time with my hair and make up and gave me several options for my wedding day. Alex did an incredible job finding the perfect shade to match my skin. I was very nervous about having airbrush make up done because I don't often wear make up. However, when Alex was finished I loved how light the airbrush felt and how natural it looked.
  
  Sandy was a master artist working on my hair. She was able to twist and curl my hair into a beautiful relaxed updo. I am very particular about my hair and Sandy really blew me away. During the trial Sandy styled my hair a few ways and every time she styled my hair I loved it! Alex took pictures of each style so that I would be able to chose the right one without feeling rushed. It made me so thankful that I did a trial!
  
  The day of the wedding Alex & Sandy were INCREDIBLE! We had a very diverse group of women getting hair and make up done, but they really listened to everybody and made sure everyone felt beautiful.
  
  My mom in particular was very stressed the day of the wedding because she had some sun damage on her face. After spending a few minutes with Alex, my mom looked in the mirror and her smile was so radiant. Alex & Sandy took the time to not only make me feel beautiful, but they took the time to make my mom feel beautiful too. Such a talented, loving group of people and we are so happy we found them!

  I am so happy that I listened to my gut feeling and chose H&M to do my (and my grandmothers) hair and makeup for the day of my wedding!
  Given this was a destination wedding I booked a trial and I'm SO happy I did. Alex and I were able to zero in on the exact look I wanted for my wedding.
  
  From the reviews and pictures I saw, I was pexpecting their quality of work to be great and as a makeup artist myself I was HIGHLY impressed by Alex's talent and professionalism. she was also super fun to hangout with and totally added to the experience of my wedding :)

  Hair and makeup was the one thing that I was most nervous about booking for my wedding. The process is complicated further when you are planning a destination wedding, and have to rely on online reviews and photos. I looked at a number vendors, and just knew Backstage Hair & Makeup would be it when I saw their photos online. Alex and team are AMAZING! Not only is their work beautiful, but they are so sweet and make the process so much fun. I communicated with Alex for months via email leading up to our wedding. She was always incredibly responsive (unlike many of our other vendors), and SO flexible. We changed the number of people and the times that we needed the team so many times. Alex never once got frustrated and bent over backwards to accommodate us. The reviews don't lie when they say that you're hair and makeup will last all day long and into the night! These ladies can really work some magic. Best of all everyone LOVED their hair and makeup, and we received so many compliments from our wedding guests. I could not have asked for a better group of girls to work with! Thank you a million times over to Alex & Sandy for making me feel so beautiful at my rehearsal dinner and my big day!! xoxo!

  Alex and her team did an amazing job for my daughter's wedding at Rosewood Mayakoba!! The hair and makeup services were beyond our expectations!!   I chose Alex and her team after stumbling across them on wedding wire. Like most brides having a destination wedding, I was hesitant to pick a hair and makeup team that I had never met before. However, after seeing the 5 star rating and numerous reviews I decided to go with Backstage H&M. I was not disappointed! Alex was amazing to work with. She was quick to reply to emails, accommodating and easy to work with. The girls came the day before the wedding to do a trial run and allow me a chance to meet them ahead of time and work through ideas for the day of. The day of the wedding was great! The girls are not only amazing at what they do but very detailed. They work hard to make sure you look and feel your absolute best. Myself as well as all my bridesmaids were in love with the way our hair and makeup turned out. Everyone's hair and makeup lasted all night in the June humidity. I highly recommend Backstage H&M!   Alex and her team were amazing! I saw another bride who had used Backstage HMU on Facebook and read nothing but positive reviews in a Cancun Brides FB group from previous brides, so I knew I had to contact her. Alex was quick to respond to my initial contact and communication was easy from initial contact until right before my wedding. The day of my wedding I had 7 people plus myself getting their hair and makeup done. Alex and her team were on time, quick to set up, and had started on hair and makeup within a few minutes of arriving. They were able to hair and makeup simultaneously for some of my girls and this worked out great. I was never concerned that we were running short on time which relieved so much stress as the bride. Everyone in my group had different requests for makeup and hair and the team made suggestions and showed pictures of what they thought would work best based on the look. I felt really comfortable letting them decide what was going to look best based on their portfolio of previous brides and wedding parties. The best part was that my bridesmaids, Mom, and MIL LOVED their final looks. It was a great feeling that my girls were happy and confident. Overall, the atmosphere was fun, relaxed, and easy throughout the day and our hair and makeup lasted throughout the night. Thank you to Alex and her team!

  I cannot even fully put into words how INCREDIBLE Alex and Angie are.... they are true artists. The hair and makeup that they did is absolutely incredible and straight out of a magazine. They are even better than celebrity quality hair and makeup artists.   I had to coordinate & hire everyone for my wedding in Mexico from a computer in Michigan, so I did a TON of research on multiple vendors to feel completely secure in my decision of who to hire. With that said, I can say that it was 150% worth hiring Alejandra & Angie for H&MU!!! Not one vendor compared to their portfolio & I saw A LOT!! They are truly professionals and masters of their craft plus they are very supportive with great communication, which is really a life & time saver when you have 18 million other things to worry about from afar. Both my mom & I have NEVER liked our hair or makeup when done professionally. We have pretty much the exact same face and previous artists never seemed to do what was best for our eye or face shape. With this dynamic duo though, I felt beautiful & everything looked so natural. They really know how to work your best features plus it felt like I didn't even have any makeup on! My mom looked naturally glowing & radiant & I could tell she was totally feeling herself!! hahaa Aside from the overall outcome, I really appreciated their help & honesty during the trial. With so many pinterest ideas it can be hard to make a final decision or know if what looks good on someone else would look good on you & I was completely unaware of what I could or should do, but they looked at my photos then gave helpful suggestions. Instead of saying no you can't do that, they did me the favor of showing me a few different ways I could wear my hair & makeup that were similar to some of the pins I saved while also giving me pro tips for what works or looks better in the climate & beach setting. It is so true that you get what you pay for & it was worth every penny to have these ladies by my side that morning.

  Backstage Hair & Makeup was so wonderful on our wedding day! They made everyone look beautiful and feel beautiful. The girls were all so nice, professional and creative. I didn't do a trial, but had an idea of what I wanted for my hair. I showed a few pictures of what I had in mind, and it was perfect! The day of the wedding was very windy (20-30mph) and my hair was still pretty much perfect at the end of the night. I would recommend Backstage Hair & Makeup to anyone for their wedding or special event.

  I got married at Dreams Tulum last month, and up until about one week before my wedding I had planned on getting my makeup done at the resort. I decided that I wanted to hire a professional outside of the resort to come and do my makeup. I came across Backstage Hair & Makeup Professionals information and asked if there was any way they could fit me in with it being only a week away! I received a response right away, and was told they had my date available! I was nervous that I was not going to get a trial, but I decided to go through with it as I didn't have many options since it was so last minute. I emailed with Alex, and she was so great! Alex was unavailable the day of my wedding so she sent her co-worker, Liz. Liz was AMAZING. She was so cute and friendly! I told her I was going for a more natural look, and she did exactly that.   Amazing girls!! Destination weddings can be surprisingly stressful, especially when deciding on vendors you aren't familiar with for big things like hair and makeup....but honestly rest assured you can trust these lovely ladies! Alex was super on top of responding to all my messages and questions and was flexible with things such as my mom getting hair done only, timing of services and location. She will make it work for you and will reduce stress! Everyone was very happy with their hair and makeup and looked absolutely beautiful for the big day! Alex and her ladies are very talented. I am an anxious person was feeling super extra anxious on my wedding day and was of course overthinking things and probably drove them crazy with my indecision.....but they were nothing but sweet and patient with me.   My husband and I are from New York City and got married at NIZUC Resort and Spa last weekend. We hired the Backstage Hair and Makeup team to do the hair and makeup for our bridal party and they were absolutely amazing. From the moment we first contacted Alejandra, she was super responsive to our needs and worked with us to create a hair and makeup package that worked for our large bridal party. When we met Alejandra and Angie during our planning trip to do the trial, we were extremely happy with it and really trusted them. My mom and I were extremely concerned with timing given that our bridal party had 20 people that needed hair and makeup done (including bridesmaids, mothers, grandmas, etc.). Alex increased the number of hair stylists and makeup artists and promised us that everyone would be ready on time. Needless to say she kept her promise and everyone was ready on time! More importantly, they all looked amazing! Furthermore, when we had some last minute changes, Alejandra and her team was super flexible and understanding. In addition to the wedding, we also used Backstage for our rehearsal dinner and our welcome party. Every single service they provided was perfect.   I met Alex and Sandy for the first time when I got to Mexico for my wedding weekend. Coming from NYC I was a little concerned not having a trial before the wedding but a few people told me to trust Alex and her team because they had worked with them before. They were right!!!! Alex and Sandy were both INCREDIBLE! Alex did my makeup and Sandy did my hair all 3 nights of the wedding weekend and I could not be more thankful to them both for making me feel so beautiful. Alex, Sandy and 2 others (I'm so sorry I am blanking on their names!) also did hair and makeup for my mother, mother in law and 4 bridesmaids, who were also BLOWN away by their work. I can not say more wonderful things about Backstage, they are true artists. I don't wear a lot of makeup and Alex knew exactly what to do, I never looked or felt like my makeup was caked on, it was natural and beautiful with subtle details. I showed Sandy a few pictures of hair styles that I liked and she replicated them exactly, with a few of her own touches to perfect each look. We had so much fun with the girls, they are so sweet and had great vibes. They are also extremely punctual! Always on time and we never felt rushed once! If you are considering a company to work with, I HIGHLY recommend Backstage. I can't wait till they come to NYC or the next time I'm back in Mexico because whether I have an event or not I will definitely be calling them to work with them again :) Love you girls! xo

  Planning a destination wedding is hard, but Alejandra and her team at Backstage were a tremendous help! They were by far the easiest vendors to work with. They were very responsive to my emails and the scheduling process was so seamless! From our initial contact up until my wedding day, they were exceptional... oh, and the most important part.. they are truly amazing makeup artists!!! All of my bridesmaids loved their makeup. I hope I can use them again! Thank you a million times!

  I planned my wedding in Mexico from the UK, and wanted to ensure I chose a good hair and make up artist who could make me look my best. I chose backstage hair & makeup based on the work shown on their Facebook page. The hair and makeup looked fantastic each time and Alex and Angie did not disappoint me on my big day.
  
  I had airbrush make up which witheld the Mexican heat all afternoon and night. My makeup remained perfect, not shiny or sweaty, I could not believe it. Alex did my make up just as I asked, based on a picture I had shown and I was so pleased with the results. My mother and mother in law also had their makeup done and were just as pleased with the results. My mother in law who does not generally wear much make up asked for a very natural look, and the result was perfect. Alex listened to each individual and delivered great results.
  
  My hair was also more beautiful than I could have imagined and held really well in the heat and breeze. It was styled beautifully by Angie, who achieved the curled style I desired and ensured my veil held in place.
  
  Alex and Angie are both very professional and lovely people, if you need proof of their talents just check out their Facebook page. I now have my wedding photos to remind me of a fabulous day and I am so pleased at how I looked. Thank you so much!

  When I decided to do a destination wedding, everything was taken care of at the resort that we chose! I was so happy that I could arrive to Cancun and not worry about a thing. However, I knew that there was one thing for sure that I wanted PERFECT - my hair and makeup. I knew that I would be hanging pictures on my wall and looking at them for the rest of my life. I am so beyond thrilled that I found Backstage Hair & Makeup! I came across them on a Facebook group and watched their work for a couple of weeks before booking them. I absolutely fell in love. Our wedding day was a breeze. Alex was so sweet from the first moment I contacted her! She came in prepared and with some fun music - which made the day even more fun! All of my bridesmaids (7) + MOB + MOG and myself got our hair and makeup done and we all LOVED it. Not one complaint. We all danced the night away and still looked fabulous at the end of the night - and even the next morning! I am so over the moon happy with how awesome Alex and her team is! Thank you, thank you for making us all feel so beautiful on the best day ever!!

  Alex and Angie were absolutely amazing! Alex was very responsive through the entire planning process. Come the day for the trial and wedding day, she was punctual, listened, worked with my ideas, and helped make them even better than I imagined. She even came back the day of and said "I was studying the picture last night of your look and I want to change this and that." Such attention to detail. And Angie, her hair skills are amazing. I received so many compliments on my hair. As for the wedding party, everyone looked breathtaking. If you're on the fence, go for these ladies. They were a dream to work with and helped make my day relaxed and wonderful.

  Having a destination wedding in Mexico is a very stressful experience. I researched many hair and makeup artists and viewed a variety of portfolios to get a better idea of each artist's work. Many of the makeup styles were not up to date with American trends. Alejandra's portfolio impressed me the most. She was very responsive and super sweet. She was willing to fix any of the bridesmaid's makeup if they were unhappy. For my wedding, I wanted to look like myself only better. My husband says I looked like an HD version of myself lol. I would highly recommend Backstage Hair & Makeup Professionals to anyone getting married in the Riviera Maya/Cancun area. I am very picky with my makeup and i was extremely happy.

  I went off my my resort and traveled almost an hour to use backstage! Let me just say it was more than worth it!! These two girls were AMAZING! They were so efficient and gave me exactly the look I was going for on my wedding day. I highly recommend them to anyone! Worth every penny:)

  I booked with Backstage H&M for my April 30th wedding and they beyond exceeded my expectations. They were professional and took their time to make sure me and my bridal party were completely happy with our hair and makeup. I can be extremely picky when it comes to my hair and makeup but even more so for my wedding, I wanted everything to be perfect and it was. We all looked beautiful and everything lasted all night long, even in the high humidity. They made us feel relaxed and even provided music for us. You will not be disappointed with this team.

  Couldn't be happier woth how my hair and make up turned out! I didn't even have an exact idea of what I wanted, but they still made everything look so natural and I felt like a better version of myself! These girls were so nice and they made me feel very relaxed. They played great music during the whole process, made sure everything got done in a timely manner, and even were willing to squeeze some last minute services in. It was a very easy going experience with high quality make up and attention! Loved them!

  We are a luxury digital magazine based in California. We were planning a 2 day photo shoot in Playa del Carmen and searching for the top hair and make-up team in Cancun.
  
  We definitely found them in Backstage.
  
  We have VERY high standards and were looking for the best in the area. After reading many great reviews of Backstage online, we quickly decided to hire Alejandra and Christian for hair and makeup for our photoshoot.
  
  We were blown away by the level of professionalism, the talent and best of all the wonderful energy and attitude during our two days with this incredible team.
  
  The experience was second to none and an all around pleasure from start to finish. Communication was always easy, prompt and professional. Alejandra used fabulous products and is clearly a very talented and experienced artist. Christian did amazing hair and was comfortable with all our requests big and small. We could not have asked for more!
  
  We book hair and make-up all over the world and it can be very hit or miss, but I have to say, our founder was BEYOND thrilled with how she looked and said this was probably the very best hair and makeup team she has ever had. That’s saying a lot.
  
  We cannot recommend Backstage enough and especially Alejandra and Christian! You can book with confidence and know you will look gorgeous and be in best hands possible for your hair and make-up needs! A++

  It was hard to find the perfect makeup artist for a picky Canadian Asian bride like me and I am so glad I made the right choice. These ladies work wonders; they can do whatever style upon your request And make it better! My bridal party can't believe how good they looked as well.   Alex and her crew were amazing! They're very good at what they do, and genuinely take the time to make your day perfect. One of the best things about them is their response time. If you email them, they will answer same day. Communication is key. They're prompt and listen to questions and concerns. I have no complaints, and would highly recommend them for any hair and make-up needs!

  I stood up in a wedding in Riviera Maya. I knew I had to deal with high levels of humidity and extremely warm temperatures. I saw Alex's work from another friend that got married in Mexico weeks prior. Her airbrushing skills are immaculate. She was able to take my ideas and make it into more than what I expected. Extremely professional, so sweet, and her goal is to make you look amazing. I highly recommend Alex for makeup and her team for hair.

  I have seen their work before so I right away knew I wanted them to do Hair & Make-up for the wedding if possible. They are great & good people that are very passionate for what they do and that shows in their work. The H&M stayed perfect throughout the whole wedding & party even though it was on the beach. I was very happy with their work and strongly recommend them. Thank you guys!!

  Alex and Alex were FANTASTIC to work with! They were extremely responsive via email and made it easy to plan my trial and weekend of hair and makeup for myself and my sister from New York. They were extremely collaborative and could execute any look either of us asked for. A complete pleasure to work with and I would STRONGLY STRONGLY STRONGLY recommend them!   A review of Backstage Hair & Make Up. These ladies did my trial and hair and make up for my wedding on Oct 31st, 2015 in Tulum. All I can say is that it was an absolute pleasure working with them. They are super professional yet personable. They are perfectionists. And they really interpret your vision into something great. The best part is that the make up they use is super high quality. I had a terrible breakout from a make up application a month prior to my wedding in Tulum... But the make up Alex chose to use on my calmed my skin and actually nourished it. The only reason I gave a 4.5 for responsiveness is to let you know these ladies are in demand. So if you email them on a weekend, don't expect a response immediately because they are working.   Absolutely incredible experience

  Alex (make-up) and Selene (hair) were absolutely incredible and exceeded my expectations for what was the most important weekend of my life. My hair and make-up stayed perfectly for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony/reception, despite the Mexican humidity, and I honestly have never felt more beautiful in my entire life. I'm from New York which resides among the best hair and make-up professionals in the world but I have NEVER looked or felt better than when Alex & Selene got me ready for the big weekend. I truly cannot say enough about them or Backstage in general. They know what they're doing while also being sweet, lovely and fun throughout the whole process. There's no question as to whether you should hire them for your big day! DO IT...you won't be disappointed!

  I was definitely more then happy with Backstage Hair & Makeup. These reviews are what helped me make the right decisions throughout my destination wedding planning process. Wanting to look your best on the day of your wedding was one of the most important things for myself as a bride and I am sure a lot of others. It can be stressful to do so in a different country with a different climate and without meeting the people you are working with.
  Alex and Angie did an AMAZING job in making me feel comfortable and confident in their services and would 100% recommend! I got married in The Mayan Riviera May 2, 2017. Here's a list to make it easier for Type A brides like myself..
  PRO'S
  - Always responded to my emails on time, professionally, and very personable
  - Punctual on the day of the trial and wedding. Flexible and kind when i changed the trial 2x short notice.
  - Top of line professional products for both hair and makeup are used (Davines for hair, used curling and flat irons. Lots of options for makeup including designer brands from sephora and other professional airbrushing brands)
  -No language barrier, they can interpret what your asking for very easily. Bring pictures to be clear
  - Makeup and hair did not budge from 2pm- 12am easily.. I can promise you my face was dripping sweat in the sun and it was windy as hell. (I have naturally long curly hair, my mom has fine boy short hair, mother in law had long straight hair. Although, i do recommend the bride having an up do so the wind isn't blowing it all over your face
  - Capable of doing both a more natural look as well as a more intense makeup look but regardless never look caked on.
  CON's
  - $440 US (then covert to CAN) includes both hair & Makeup trial & wedding day. A bit much no?
  - Makeup could have blended better from face to neck, if I noticed & told them i'm sure it would have been fixed
  
  AGAIN I'd recommend Backstage over and over, GREAT JOB ALEX AND ANGIE XO
