Jaime, our coordinator was absolutely amazing! She made the process so easy and enjoyable. From picking our menu, bar package and linens. If I had a question, I was able to reach out to her and she would respond within minutes. The venue is absolutely beautiful and I received nothing but amazing feedback from all of my guests!

Reception location
Avalon has a perfect location, close to hotels, restaurants and churches. The option of having salons of different sizes with the fountain in the background was beautiful. We did not have the ceremony at Avalon but that is an option.

Nikki was excellent at Avalon. So professional, down to earth and very responsive!! I couldn’t imagine having had anyone better to work with. Whatever I needed and whenever I needed it, Nikki was always above and beyond. All the staff on the day of we’re excellent. We had a magical night and it was in large part due to the great people at Avalon. Beautiful venue and wonderful staff, so many thanks! :)

I got married May 28, 2021 at the Avalon Manor and it was perfect. Our ceremony and reception were both inside and the staff and our vendors did an amazing job making my wedding visions come to life! My favorite thing about the Avalon Manor are their gorgeous chandeliers and floor to ceiling windows with a view of the pond and greenery in the back. There’s also a beautiful gazebo in back for outdoor ceremonies.
I can’t say enough about the Avalon Manor’s staff honestly. Since they do many weddings each year, everything is relatively routine and they’re able to accommodate almost any requests so you’re not stressing about catering, food service, clean up, bar service, etc. since they do it all!
I would highly recommend! There’s also plenty of hotels very close by for out of town guests! Please consider the Avalon Manor for your wedding!

A Great Bookend
We loved the venue. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The lighting and the dance floor were great. Food was also fabulous. We still have family and friends mention how great the whole reception was and would 10/10 recommend.

OMG this venue was awesome! Nikki was my planner and she was the absolute best! I was an out of town bride and everything was amazing. The space was beyond beautiful the food was hands down the best wedding food I've (and my guest) ever had! Honestly it was perfect I could not have asked for more I had an amazing experience!

Nicki was very helpful during the wedding planning process! She helped us every step from linens, to vendors, to handling the pandemic and still making my dream wedding happen. Spectacular Wedding and Reception
Our wedding day was incredible and everyone at Avalon did an amazing job making that happen. Especially with the craziness of Covid, they were so flexible and communicated with us every step of the way. I started planned my wedding a year in advance with help from Nicki. She did a great job of answering the questions I had and helped me feel at ease about the process of my big day. Nicki was understanding and flexible with any changes I had. The venue was accommodating and I feel that I had plenty of time and space to get ready with my brides maids. My package included 1 ballroom open bar, my choice of entree, tables, centerpieces, chairs, a table for treats, as well as a for gifts. After 6pm the gazebo was open for me to take photos which was great.

I had my wedding here in September 2021. The value and customer service you get was well above my expectations. It was such a pleasure and ease working with Nicki. Everything about the process of planning went smoothly. My guests were so impressed with the hall, their service, and the food. This was the closing deal for me when I was looking for a hall. Both of our families are Mexican and we were really looking for a place that would cater authentic Mexican food. We were not disappointed, all the contrary. The chief did an excellent job with the food and many guests commented on how delicious and authentic it was. I would definitely recommend this hall and hoping to use it in the future again for an anniversary party!

Avalon Manor was the best place to have our wedding. From the start, Nicki was incredible to work with. I am living across the country and Nicki helped me with everything with 0 problems... even during a pandemic! She was very quick at responding, super accommodating and I couldn't have asked for anyone better at helping me coordinate my day! My wedding & reception went amazingly smooth... only 1 minor thing happened and that was that I purchased a lot of masks for our guests and somehow they all went missing. Otherwise, the day was perfect. The servers for our dinner were very polite and the food was amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better experience or day!

I had my wedding at Avalon Manor in October 2020. It was such an uncertain time in the world, but their staff went above and beyond to make sure the day was wonderful. Jovanka answered every single question my husband & I had. The venue had so many precautions in place to keep our guests safe. The food was excellent - our guests still talk about the dinner! I also had a small bridal shower there and it was perfect. I would 100% recommend Avalon to anyone getting married in NW Indiana.

Excellent place for a wedding
My husband and I got married in the beginning of October, the day couldn't have been better. The weather was beautiful and having our wedding out by their pond with the sunset in the background was breathtaking. Jill Ewer was our caterer that night and she did an amazing job! Jovanka was amazing. Our original vendor cancelled on us two months prior to our wedding and Jovanka went above and beyond to make our perfect day fall into place. It was better than we could have even imagined. She relieved so many stresses that we had. Always going above and beyond for us. She worked with us financially to make sure we could have our dream wedding within our budget. The staff setup our decorations exactly how we had imagined and explained to Jovanka. Everyone we came into contact with was professional and kind. We have zero issues during the two months of planning. The food was incredible. Our guests still talk about our special day almost a year later. Thank you so much Jovanka and the staff at Avalon for making our dreams come true.

This place is not only beautiful but it’s amazingly priced for the area. It’s huge, it’s beautiful, and the service is great. Rain or Shine, One-Stop-Shop Magical Night!!!
We just had our wedding on 10/20/18. We planned for about 18 months. The planners in the office were AMAZING. They never backed down, always responded to my MILLION emails! (THANK YOU JOVANKA)! The staff was incredible...so nice and quick and personable. The Avalon is a well oiled machine, you don't need to worry about a thing! And if you have a vision, they will make it happen! It was a magical night!!!

We fell in love with the reception hall at Avalon Manor the moment we walked in. The staff was very helpful and nice, and was able to help us achieve our dream wedding on our budget. After the wedding everyone complimented us on the venue and raved about the food!

The Avalon was amazing!! They were so professional and catered to all our needs. All the staff were super friendly and nice. Also, our reception looked absolutely beautiful and we didn’t have to pay the high prices like other competing vendors!

The venue was beautiful and everyone there was very accommodating. We didn't even need to hardly decorate because the room and gazebo are so beautiful all on their own.

We worked with Morgan Lamb and I must say she's amazing and extremely helpful when it comes to anything dealing with the wedding. She gave up a list of vendors to help us get started. She helped us plan out our setup for the Somerset Hall and even ordered us our anniversary wine just for mu husband and I! If we ever had any questions, I knew that I could always call or email her, but I always emailed since you never know if someone will get to the phone or call back in time. We were able to bring our decorations in the day before and as for the day of the wedding, they had the private suite for the ladies attached to the Somerset room and the men got ready upstairs. The only thing that concerned me was that since our ceremony was in the morning, we had to get ready early, but by the time it was an hour and a half before the ceremony start, they didn't have the Hall decorated yet! Luckily, our bridal party was on top of it and got it all done and setup before we started. Another problem was during dessert when they brought our the cupcakes my sister made, because several people said they were partially frozen. Turns out they put them in the freezer instead of the fridge, so many of our guests didn't get to enjoy them. Also, due to us not doing a seating arrangement, my brothers didn't get their special plates since one is vegan and the other has a gluten allergy, and some of the kids didn't get sparkling grape juice for the toasts. Overall, it was beautiful and everyone loved it and had fun! That's all I truly care about in the end.

We had such a great experience with Avalon Manor. When we were starting the search process, we realized a lot of venues had hidden costs and add ons. With Avalon, everything was straightforward, and they take care of way more than almost every other venue we looked at. They provided our centerpieces and chair covers in the package we selected, which was one less thing we had to worry about.
We worked with a sales coordinator, Morgan, throughout the entire process, and she was AWESOME! She was extremely helpful every step of the way. She made the process easy and enjoyable for us, and she would always get back to us immediately. She even checked in with us after the wedding to congratulate us and make sure everything went well. We really felt taken care of!
Lastly, the day of our wedding all of the staff members were great and we were in awe when we walked in the ballroom. The room was beautiful and exactly what we had wanted. Thanks Avalon!

So far this place is amazing. It's a great price for everything that's included. The staff is so friendly and they genuinely care about the bride and the groom, not just their money. I'm so excited to get married here in less than 6 months! It's a very beautiful banquet and quite affordable.

OMG! I cannot say enough about Avalon Manor and our site consultant Sheryl. I am very detailed oriented but as a bride, I was beyond organized and attentive to the things I envisioned on my wedding day. I contacted about 50 different venues and visited 27. Upon my visit to Avalon Manor in January of 2013, I was greeted by Sheryl who gave me a tour of the facility. I was highly impressed by what Avalon Manor had to offer. After speaking with my fiance' at the time, we decided that Avalon Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding. Sheryl was very understanding and took the time to answer all of my many questions via email and phone. Whenever I needed advice or suggestions, she was always there - ready and willing to help. Sheryl was very accommodating when it came to me changing my mind about things such as chair sashes and guest list. On my actual wedding day, I did have a care in the world when it came to the venue.
I was highly surprised that our venue was as inexpensive as it was. However, the quality of service was phenomenal. All my guests are still talking about the venue, staff, food and drinks. I would definitely recommend Avalon Manor to any and everyone looking for a venue for any type of event.

The Avalon was extremely easy to work with and willing to make my wedding exactly what I have dreamed! It was all beautiful and the staff performed smoothly and everyone loved the meal! I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful and magical wedding day at Avalon!!! The staff created such a fairytale ambiance, with my colors pink and black!! The food was outstanding!!! Guests still keep talking about how amazing the food was!!!! Despite the AC not working in our bridal suite, the staff compensated by opening another portion of our venue for our bridal party. Our enchanted fairytale wedding at Avalon will be etched in our hearts forever!!! Thank you Avalon for making our day so beautiful and memorable!!!

The Avalon was awesome throughout every step of our reception. I did not have a ceremony here, but my reception was perfect! They listened to what I wanted and made it happen. Katie and Sarah were attentive to my wants and did an awesome job in accommodating! The ballroom looked beautiful and the staff did a fabulous job! My guests are still giving compliments about the food and service. I forgot to order a vegetarian meal for one of my guests, and the wait staff heard and had her a new plate in seconds!! Our bartenders not only made sure that our drinks were perfect, but also something for my minor daughter. They were amazing and I could not have asked for a better time! Thank you

The Avalon Manor was amazing. The food was delicious (all our guests were raving), the hall is quality, and the service was amazing. The staff went over and above to make sure our day was everything we had hoped for and more. The hall was set up beautifully and everything went smoothly. The wait staff during the wedding was amazing as well. They took all the bridal parties drink orders while at the gazebo taking pictures. They then remembered what everyone was drinking and kept their drinks full during dinner. They did the extra special touches that really made us feel pampered. Worth every single penny!

Having my reception at Avalon made the planning process (and the day of) so easy! They took care of everything and I didn't have to do anything other than have fun at my reception. I've gotten multiple compliments from friends and family about the food and service. We did the Premiere Package with beef, chicken, kid's meals and a vegetarian option since my mom wanted to make sure there were plenty of options for everyone, and they were perfectly willing to help adjust the package to our needs. My husband and I were also very impressed with the care they took to make sure the two of us were extremely taken care of as well!
We only had a couple slight problems that, for the most part, weren't too bad. The original person I had booked with left the business and I was not contacted by the new person working with me until a week before the final payment was due (roughly 2 weeks before our wedding date). However, anytime I called prior to that and did not get our new person they were still able to answer all my questions. The other issue was that the cost of the Premiere Package was changed, but so were their requirements for having a certain amount of guests (it changed to spending a certain amount). It would have saved a headache or two to know that those had changed, however I do understand that some information may not have been passed along because our original contact left.
Overall, we're very happy that we went with Avalon. It kept our reception affordable and fun!

Okay truth time. I originally wanted Aberdeen manor in Valpo. They were over double what i am spending at Avalon and I get more options at Avalon that fit my personality. Outdoor wedding, Amazing food and service and the best news is, WE won't go broke! Woo-hoo! Getting more for less price!

Given the month of my wedding, I was able to get the room that I wanted! The office staff was excellent with answering all of my many questions, working with us to add our personal touches to the wedding, and just being very patient and very informative. Come the reception time, the wait staff was excellent - very friendly, one even made the comment to me stating that I was one of the "happiest brides they have ever seen." That made my night even better than it already was.
On top of that, the food was excellent! We had a choice of either the Chicken Breast with Marsala Wine Sauce or the Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus (plus they accomodated my cousin and his girlfriend, who are vegans, by making them a special dish - no meat, no eggs, nothing from animals - a great pasta dish they both enjoyed!). I think nearly every guest had commented to us on how great the food was, that they had never had such good food at a wedding before. So, EVERYTHING was perfect from the Avalon. I can't stress it more!

We worked with Jayne and everything went smoothly.
We booked the Summerset room and at the last minute we knew were not going to reach our 250 person minimum. Avalon was really flexible and instead of making us pay for all 250 dinners, they let us add appetizers, a better salad, upgraded the dinner, and added wine for the actual amount of guests we had (225). In a time when I was very stressed out, I was extremely grateful that they let us do this. It was a wise business decision because they made more money by us doing it this way rather than buying just chicken dinners for 250 guests without appetizers, wine, etc.
Our guest raved about the food and service and I was a happy bride.
For those Chicago brides, I would recommend using the Avalon Manor. They are cheaper than most Chicago venues and about an hour from Chicago.

I had a wonderful experience! Due to the rain my ceremony had to be moved inside and they let me make that decision at the last possible second and we’re very helpful in the transition. They also made me aware that my cake was late to be delivered and made sure to handle it accordingly so my guests never knew! And the food was awesome!

I was very happy with Avalon Manor! They did an absolutely beautiful job with our wedding. Out point of contact was very professional, responsive and did a great job of guiding us through the process.
On the day of the wedding, the staff and service were phenomenal. The head waitress introduced herself to us and told us to ask her if we needed anything at all. All of the food was brought out in an orderly fashion and on time. People also loved it and we got a lot of compliments on how tasty it was. We did have an issue with one bartender not wanting to serve the bridal party during the 'break' hour, however the head waitress was great and speedily resolved this issue.
The only complaint I could possibly have is they aren't very good with the before and after of accommodating your 'stuff'. For example, my mom put together a great sweets table, but she had to go home to pick it all up and then set it up in between the ceremony and reception. It would have been great to be able to just drop that off the afternoon before withe everything else, but the Avalon couldn't accommodate fridge space.
In addition, after the wedding, you are supposed to remove everything that night or it will be thrown away. This really kills the celbratory mood because someone has to be sober and coordinate the tear down. I feel like this is a little inconsiderate policy, and it would not be hard to have a rule that things need to be picked up by say 9AM the next morning. These are just things to consider as you book the venue.
Also they DO NOT SERVE SHOTS. This was NOT spelled out to me clearly before I signed the contract and I was super bummed - I really wish I would have known that in advance. However, they make mixed drinks so it works out.
Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone else!

Loved my wedding here it was perfect until the end and the bar tender deiced not to serve my uncle who had not had any thing to drink and served people i asked for not to be served. I also bought jager under the idea they would make a drink to it like a vodka and coke, and yet they did not. I would do it again there the location and price are amazing. I have herd nothing but good things from friends and family about my wedding. oh and ladies the food here is AMAZING people are still talking about it.

We had to switch our contact at the last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances, however, everyone at the Avalon was more than accommodating.
The food was beyond delicious, we were on a very tight budget and we were able to give our guests a little something different and a plated dinner of Medallions of Beef and Chicken together all for a tremendously affordable price.
The only complaint I have is the cost of adding chair covers was very high, when I knew I could find them for a MUCH cheaper price online, that was a difficult cost to swallow. However, given the price of the plates, we ended up just swallowing the cost and paying it anyway. They have an exclusive contract, so the cost is set, my hands were tied.

The food was amazing, the service was amazing, and the venue is very beautiful. The only thing I did not like was the bartenders they hired. They were very rude to many of my guests.

Overall, great experience but there were some disappointments
Jaime was a huge help throughout the planning process but there was a major hiccup on our wedding day. Unfortunately, there was a snow storm the night before that stopped around 6am on the day of our wedding. No worries, we weren't to arrive until 10am. So we assumed the lot would be plowed. Not only wasn't it when we arrived. They never plowed at all. We were also told that the walkway at the rear of the building would be shoveled and salted. Nope. The icing on the cake was that nobody arrived to open the doors until 11;30am. Even then, our coordinator had to find an employee entrance and look around inside for the head server. The day overall was salvaged, the ceremony was only delayed by around 30 minutes thanks to our friends that arrived early to help set up, the reception was great and the food was good. Unfortunately, we still haven't received an explanation as to what caused the hour and a half delay. Would recommend them if your wedding won't be happening in a month when snow is possible.

A good option on a budget.
Working with Nikki was great and she was very prompt. Definitely hire a wedding planner when working with this venue! Day of the wedding some of my wedding guests did not get their food and some even found a hair in their food. My original date was rescheduled due to covid and they kept my security deposit even though the wedding wouldn’t have been able to accommodate the same amount of guests which I think was normal during that time but still sucked.

We had a beautiful weeding
But there was a few things I wasn't happy about. First they didn't explain that our rehearsal would not be organized and on our own. We had to schedule a rehearsal appointment time. And when I got there, no one was there and the place was closed. We had to practice by ourselves outside in the cold. We couldn't even go inside to practice where we come down and out. And they also told my vendor the wrong kazeebo to decorate. Then cut down our decorations from the wrong gazebo thinking it was left from the last wedding. I lost my lights that I wanted to have because they cut the wire. Then one of my guest found a hundred-dollar bill that my husband had dropped. She turned it in to the office. When we called the next morning they said no one turned any money in. But other then that. Our wedding was beautiful.

Thought they were ok. Had my wedding and reception here. When I asked if I could have rehearsal there they told me they were booked and its not really a big deal to rehearse. At my rehearsal they over booked me and another bride to rehearse in the same gazebo. Wouldn't pick this place again because of service but food was AMAZING!

Well, where do I start. The room was late being set-up, so our 5:30 ceremony didn't start until 5:45. Not a huge deal...but nerve racking as a bride. Somehow, over $400 of my makeup disappeared, my moh extra jewelry and my toss garter just vanished. At the end of the night, I am pretty sure the staff either took in back to wash or threw away our engraved toasting glasses. The rep we were dealing with wasn't very personable.

Questionable Practices
This was our experience with Avalon Manor and their response to our wedding reception issues a couple weeks ago.
Below are all the screenshots
You can make your own decisions on signing a contract with them for your event. We wont be recommending them for any future business.
Our response to their last email isnt loading, so this is what was said.
Nicki & Ownership,
For the $12,000 + spent at Avalon Manor, you are offering less a 2% refund for the inconveniences incurred during our event.
We find this response and amount insulting. For your information "industry" has no bearing here. The Bride and Groom, who signed the contract, are not industry and did not ask or recieve any kind of industry favor.
We are declining said refund and will be leaving these interactions via all social media platforms.
