Amazing environment
Leah and the whole Avalon staff are so amazing. They are all so accommodating and willing to help with anything. My husband and I had our reception in the Millennium ballroom with the added balcony for extra space. It fit all our friends and family with plenty of space to dance and mingle! We have friends and family that still talk about our reception even after 8 months and we can’t help but give some credit to the Avalon for providing such an amazing environment. -

Avalon event center
We had I believe the medium sized ball room. We had around 150-200 guests! We had absolutely no issues and the Food and the Space we used was absolutely PERFECT! The taco bar was amazing and the desserts we had were the little cheesecake bites and I would recommend them to everyone!-

Beautiful venue, fantastic service.
We had our wedding and ceremony at The Avalon in June 2021. We were originally supposed to get married in November 2020, but like so many others, we decided to push it back due to the pandemic. We worked with Leah throughout the entire process and she was OUTSTANDING! I have never met someone so organized! The planning process was effortless because The Avalon took care of everything. It’s a gorgeous venue and requires minimal decorating. All we had to do was pick out the food. Which by the way is absolutely amazing! Their entire menu was delicious and they have quite a few options to choose from as well. Leah never missed a beat throughout the whole process and she was always there to help when it was needed. I am so thankful that my wedding day was flawless and I couldn’t have done it without Leah and her team! -

The Avalon is a great choice
As a professional wedding officiant (Officiant Amber), I have officiated at dozens of locations, so I know that The Avalon in Fargo is a great choice for couples looking for a variety of sizes of rooms and/or styles.
Their team is well-organized, and the space is clean and welcoming.
Leah is great to work with and is very personable. I would highly recommend the Avalon! -

Quinceanera
We celebrated our daughter's Quinceanera at Avalon in July 2020. Leah was an excellent resource, she gave us ideas and exceeded our expectations. She is fabulous! The manager and the staff that worked the night of the event were very attentive and supplied all our needs. If I have to do another event, I would absolutely choose Avalon and their excellent staff again. -

Amazing Venue!
We chose the Avalon for our July 2020 Wedding Venue. We both loved the look and feel of the ballroom for our reception venue! Due to Coronavirus we were unsure of what was to happen that day or if we would have to postpone. Luckily we were able to upgrade to the Millennium Ballroom and hold the ceremony and reception all in that same room! Leah was wonderful to work with as well as all the staff at the Avalon! The food was terrific and our guests commented lots on how much they enjoyed it too. After we heard our limo had broken down the Avalon came to the rescue to drive us around for pictures! Everything went so smoothly I couldn’t have asked for anything better! Thank you so much to Leah and the rest of the Avalon staff for making our day so wonderful! I would definitely recommend the Avalon to anyone looking for wedding venues :)! -

Incredible service!
Leah and the rest of the wedding staff at The Avalon were absolutely incredible! We didn't expect to have to plan our wedding during a pandemic, let alone actually HAVE our wedding during a pandemic, but all along Leah was SO reassuring and accommodating. The food was AMAZING, there were Covid protocols in place that didn't feel super restrictive but made our guests feel comfortable, and everyone there went above and beyond to make our day go on without a hitch! I can't imagine having our wedding with any other vendor or staff! -

Great vendor to work with!
We made a great choice choosing the Avalon for our wedding reception venue! Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not exactly easy, but Leah and the rest of the Avalon staff made the day absolutely stress free. The manager and Leah checked in with us several times during our event to make sure everything was going smoothly. Leah made sure to be in close communication with all of our vendors so that everyone was on the same page prior to the wedding as well as the day of the event. We had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue was as well as how friendly/helpful the staff were. I can’t thank the Avalon enough for making our wedding reception perfect and stress free! -

Great communication and organization
The staff at the Avalon has been amazing! Times were very uncertain during COVID-19 but Leah kept constant communication and reassured me with my million questions. Great organization and communication were key to me and the Avalon has both! Our guests had nothing but good things to say. Everyone who worked our wedding from start of planning, to the mixology session, to answering questions and planning out the venue, to lighting candles and setting our dessert table up, to during the wedding and even after the wedding have been phenomenal. We had a plated meal with open seating but everyone still got their food with no delays. Even with a little more than 200 guests, our food tasted amazing! The beef was perfectly cooked and juicy, chicken was tasty (yum that sauce), and even their vegetarian option was to die for (some of my friends have asked for the recipe). We left some stuff at the Avalon on accident and they were nice to hold it for us (even though it's been 3 weeks). Loved having the Avalon as our wedding venue! I would definitely recommend it to everyone!-

Wow!!! My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Avalon and let me tell you they were absolutely amazing from the first time we stepped foot in there before we knew we would book there all the way up to the point we hopped in the shuttle to take us to the hotel after the reception. The staff had helped us with our booking from day one and always made us feel as though we were in good hands. Not only was the staff professional throughout the entire process but you can tell they truly care about you. Let’s face it getting married is great but some of the process of booking the venue, picking the menu, dj, photographer, and other things that come with planning a wedding can become overwhelming and frustrating! The staff at the Avalon took us through everything step by step and made everything as about as easy as it could get. During the wedding I tried to talk with most of my guests and talked with some even after the wedding and all I heard back from them was how great the food was and that the amount of food served was just incredible. Everything was quality from the soup/salad to the entrees was just out of this world! To go along with the stellar service, great food, and gorgeous venue my husband and I had the time of our lives that we will cherish forever, the price for everything was untouchable compared to any other venue we looked at and I don’t think they would have been nearly as good as the Avalon was. It’s really great to hear your guests talking about how amazing the wedding/reception was days after the actual wedding. If your looking for just an all around great place to have your wedding or reception at PLEASE look no further than the Avalon! I would recommend this place to any couples looking to plan their big day here. Thank you Avalon and thank you to the entire staff for giving us more than we could ever hope for! -

We just had our wedding on October 7th in the Dakota Room! Wow! There are so many things to say about this place!! We were able to meet with Brett first to see the building and discuss options for our day. He was very informative and addressed any concerns we had. Of course we booked with them, we immediately fell in love with the room!! When you walk in it takes your breath away!! They also designed the rooms to give you the option of not having any extra decorations and guess what, we didn't. We both agreed adding anything else would take away from the room. The price of the room we had was a steal! We knew exactly what we were paying for, no hidden fees or clauses in the contract! Everything was laid out and easy to understand! Later on we met with Jackie who took over for Brett and she was the best!!! She was so helpful, getting any information we requested and answered any questions we had! We also got to do a taste testing! MOUTH WATERING CHICKEN!!!!!!! We experienced the best chicken we have ever had and our guests agreed! Everyone could not stop talking about the food, so hats off to the kitchen and chef!! Now the day of our wedding came and again wow!! We were approached my one of the managers and he informed us that if there was anything we needed to just ask him or any of the other staff there. The staff was super friendly and very organized!!! Our wedding was perfect!!! Again our guests loved the food! And a bonus was that if there was any extra they donate it!! We had our ceremony and reception here and the staff was very accommodating! Also I must say our bartender was AWESOME!!!! I can't remember his name but he was fantastic!!! I heard a lot of compliments about him!! If anyone is thinking about having their wedding here, DO IT!!! We loved everything about what the Avalon offered!!! We will be recommending them to anyone that asks!! Thank you to Brett, Jackie and the staff that helped make our day perfect!!

We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, and gift opening at the Avalon, and we couldn't be happier with how everything went. Staff was courteous, helpful, and personable. Jackie was great at promptly answering questions and being generally helpful. Your bartenders need a raise, because they were awesome. -

My sister got married at Avalon West last weekend and this venue was absolutely beautiful. It's very grand and classy. If you want a "wow" factor this venue is for you. The staff was very attentive and easy to work with. The food was very delicious!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Avalon. They set up the Grand Ballroom for the ceremony and the Starlight Ballroom for the dinner and dance. They did a great job. The food was great! All of our guests had so many compliments on the beautiful building, great location, and delicious food. They let us bring in our own cakes/desserts and decorations and have pizza delivered for an evening snack. It was everything we had hoped for. -

We used the Avalon downtown for our reception. We were in the starlight ballroom and the venue was set up beautifully. We loved the food and got many compliments from our guests. The staff were wonderful and helpful! They were also very flexible with us adding our personal touches to make our wedding special such as bringing in pizza at 9pm for a late night snack and having a hot chocolate bar. This was an excellent place to hold our reception! The night of the reception the manager on duty was amazing! We had originally planned to have the dance end at 12:00, but we were having so much fun they allowed us to have it till 1:00 at the last minute. The space is absolutely beautiful! -

Was everything we hoped for!
We had a fantastic time, it was nice to know that we had our hands on a professional beautiful venue with experienced staff to help with the stresses of planning a reception. They were familiar with our DJ services and the food was top notch. Cost was also reasonable for such a beautiful setup.-

Avalon Events Center - Perfection!
We LOVED having our wedding reception at the Avalon! Leah is an outstanding wedding coordinator and planner and gave us advice that made the day even more wonderful. The food, especially their pasta buffet, received a lot of compliments from our guests. The venue itself is immaculate and updated (we used the Millennium Ballroom and the mezzanine level). Great, hard-working staff who were there throughout the night and made everything run smoothly. It was such a relief knowing we booked the ultimate Fargo wedding venue and we were 100% confident everything would go off with no problems— and it went perfectly!! -

A dream come true
Our wedding date changed due to he virus and quarantine, however, the Avalon was very flexible with our changes. They provided all open dates, and accommodations given the time. They were all extremely kind, always checking in with me and my husband. I never once worries about anything at the Avalon because they were so on top of it! Wedding days are stressful enough and we didn’t have to take time away from our day since the staff were amazing to work with. -

Avalon Wedding
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Avalon and it was beautiful! We had a blast at our food tasting and mixology appointment and everyone was so nice. We had lots of compliments on the food for rehearsal dinner and the wedding. We had 2 bars set up and I had warned them about making sure to have enough stocked and bartenders for the amount of guests we had invited, but they still ran out of a couple things. For large weddings, I would recommend to have more bartenders and ensure an accurate amount of supplies stocked but overall they did a good job. I was a little nervous when we had a couple changes in wedding coordinators, one being less than a month before our wedding, and an almost last minute booking in our room the night before the wedding but Leah put my mind at ease and really worked well with me to make sure our day was perfect. She answered all of my last minute questions and requests without a complaint. You can tell she enjoys and is good at what she does. I would definitely recommend the Avalon for events in the future. -

Fantastic Space, Great Staff
We had the pleasure of working with Jackie initially, then Valerie as our coordinator. both were very detailed on everything we had asked and were very black and white about the pricing so we didn't come across any hidden fees. The food was great, the space was gorgeous, we had both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception held in 2 different ballrooms, which was really convenient for us. Christine the bartender was fantastic, if I ever needed a reason to rent from the Avalon again, it would have to involve Christine and the bar. Although Valerie is no longer working for the Avalon, I would still recommend the space for anyone looking for a modern/elegant look or just for convenience sake. -

We booked the Avalon West for our reception while it was still under construction! Trusted our gut and we were blown away by how beautiful the venue was. The staff was very accommodating considering I planned our wedding from 600 miles away. Our guests raved about the venue and the food as well! The "pasta bar" option was a hit. This venue is a great alternative to "hotel" receptions. Would definitely recommended to anyone in the FM area! -

My fiance and I originally booked the space in the downtown Avalon location. However, shortly after, they sold their downtown location. Their staff was very accommodating in helping us re-book at their West location. Even though the downtown location was beautiful, we absolutely LOVED the Dakota Ballroom in the Avalon West. It is an elegant and beautiful space. Prior to the event, there was a lot of staff turnover, but Tom really helped us piece together the details of our reception. On the day of the wedding, the staff members were very helpful and attentive to our needs. I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they did not charge fees for cutting our cake which was purchased outside of the facility or using their projector. All of those costs were included with the room rental. Also, the food was outstanding. We had so many compliments from guests about the quality of the food. We would absolutely recommend the Avalon to brides in Fargo who are looking for the classic ballroom with an updated, elegant style. -

The avalon was a great value and they were incredibly flexible with set up and tear down which we greatly appreciated. They made it very easy to plan our wedding long distance. -

The Avalon was great to work with. We had a wedding on the first floor and Kelli the Manager was awesome. She answered all of my questions the same day when I would email her. They were very flexible to work with. We received a lot of compliments on how great the food was and how beautiful the venue is. -

This venue is gorgeous. We were on the 2nd floor and had about 60 guests. There was a minimum amount that you had to purchase. We had a lot of leftover food (which I wish we could have taken home, considering we paid for it)! The bar staff was awesome and anything we needed they catered to right away. -

The DAKOTA ROOM is beautiful. I was happy with all the service. The food had so many compliments. Everyone stated that it was some of the best pasta they had been served at a wedding. Thank you Avalon for a fun facility. -

The space is one that is second to none in the area for those not wanting the trendy rustic-themed wedding. Our wedding was elegant and classy and the food was amazing (who doesn't love a pasta bar?!). The staff was attentive to our requests. I'm so glad we were able to have our wedding in the Prairie Rose room and impress all of our guests with its charm. I'll recommend this space to anyone who asks! -

We had our wedding reception at the Millennium Ballroom at the Avalon West and are so happy we did! I was nervous right away as from the time we toured to our wedding day, we had 4 or 5 different contacts, as they had a lot of turnover with the wedding coordinator position. However, Jackie was our final contact and she is fantastic! She was able to give us great suggestions when we weren't sure what option to pick for food. Multiple staff members came up to us while we were decorating on the morning of the wedding to let us know they were available to help with whatever we needed. The staff was a big help in cleaning up for my family. They helped to clear decorations off of the tables as the dance was happening, which made it quick and easy for my family to pack the decorations of ours away. It was so nice to be at a full service venue where we didn't have to worry about anything!Avalon Events Center's reply:

Had to meet with a few different event coordinators from the time I got engaged to the time I actually got married, but Kayla (no longer there) was very helpful getting me all set up, and Brett (current) was very helpful with the final meetings. Day of things were a little bit hectic, but the space is beautiful and the food was delicious! Received lots of compliments on how good the mac and cheese, chicken alfredo, and lasagna were! -

Everything was pretty good with The Avalon Downtown. We used their Grand Ballroom, which was beautiful and in a great location! Our guests loved staying downtown. The room is so beautiful and looks so awesome in photos. The food was excellent, served in a timely manner, and they were flexible with last minute changes and requests. They let us bring in our own desserts, and Connie worked hard to get us the champagne, wine, and beer we wanted that was off the menu. All of our requests, even last minute ones, were met and in the end we got all we wanted. Our day went smoothly and I don't have much to complain about. The main problem was responsiveness before the day: I didn't always feel like they were proactive or cared much about details, or making sure our day was great. I think they just got sold and maybe all the staff were on their way out? This might explain some lack of enthusiasm. Just be sure you're on top of the details you'll require for you day, because staff won't necessarily think to ask you or make sure you have all you need. But don't let that stop you from booking this great room in a great location! -

We chose the Avalon for the natural beauty, warmth and charm of the building. We had our reception on the second floor. They were very flexible to work with, and since we got married on a Friday in January, we got A LOT for what we paid for. They were always accessible, but we really had to make the effort to ask the right questions and confirm items. Their was no extra effort on their part to make this day "special" so be prepared when you meet with them and have everything planned out because they simply provide the space. The food however was EXCEPTIONAL! We had a carving station, herb crusted walleye and rosemary chicken.
I would recommend the space. -

I picked the Avalon first and foremost for being able to hold all my guests (325) without having to have my reception at a hotel. Second of all, it was downtown Fargo which is FABULOUS. It was in walking distance to three hotels we used for our guests...so much fun!
One frustrating thing is that my contact person changed THREE TIMES during the course of a year which made me really worried. They were good about saving info from all three different.
They were flexible with our requests however, especially with alcohol and special requests. They did a lot of helpful little things without me knowing it...cleaning up a failed decoration before our guests arrived, adding tablecloths that we didn't have, etc.
One thing I didn't like is that we had to pay the entire alcohol bill (we had open bar) before we left that night. It would have been nice to have a week or a few days to take care of that. -

Sarah was wonderful to work with and always answered my emails promptly. The venue is beautiful and a lot of things were included with the room rental (linens, dishes, etc). The lowered score for professionalism results from the night manager who was on duty in the evening. As a wedding photographer, I had dealt with her before so I knew what she would try to pull when it came to my wedding. That helped me be prepared for her when she came up to us after the ceremony and insisted we cut the cake before we head out for half an hour after our ceremony. She was not very cordial and nearly threatened to cut the cake while we were gone (before we had a chance to do the first cutting!) That was the only blemish on the day. -

I feel communication is a problem. We saw beautifully set tables in the pictures and were not told that napkins an silverware would not be on the table. Water pitchers were not on the tables either nor were coffee pots! The guests had to walk a distance for these things and when they arrived there were no cups etc. The servers were quick to replace them however and were very pleasant! Brides must request these extra items on the tables to make the dinner experience more pleasant for their guests. The punch was a huge let down! We were told the punch was the Avalon's special berry punch but it tasted more like Hawaiian punch or koolaid with a few berries thrown in! The buffet line uses small black plastic plates not glass dinner plates so it was a shock to see them sitting there looking so unclassy after all the planning and decorating we did for days to make this a special occasion for the bride and groom and their guests!! The manager was very pleasant and easy to deal with which we appreciated and we loved the old building which is so fun to decorate with its old world feel. I would use the Avalon again but would want to oversee the details more closely which would make things go more smoothly!Avalon Events Center's reply:

While we are pleased to hear that you loved the location and found our staff easy to work with, we are sad to hear that you were left disappointed. With regard to the black plastic plates, we were unaware there would be an issue. The Avalon has been serving wedding cake and appetizers on high-quality, disposable black plates for years, and we have never received a complaint. For this reason, we do not typically specify the type of plate used. We will make a point of informing future brides that the cake and appetizers are served on these black plastic plates. In your case, once we received the complaint our staff immediately removed the disposable plates and put out ceramic plates. In addition, we removed the previously plated wedding cake onto ceramic plates. We are always happy to accommodate our customers.
We will say, however, that in the pictures of our beautifully set tables online there are no ceramic plates shown; see http://www.thehubfargo.com/weddings and http://www.fargo-avalon.com/rooms. Furthermore, the pictures we have available are all photos from real weddings that have taken place at the Avalon and represent their tastes and specifications. Every bride has different requests, so while our photos should assist a bride in deciding what she would like to see on the tables (such as water pitchers or coffee pots), they do not guarantee provision of those items—they can be requested. For example, many of our tables feature centerpieces; but we do not provide centerpieces for the table. As aforementioned, we make every effort to accommodate our brides as long as we are told what is desired. As for the punch, this is the first complaint we have had of it and we promise to try and understand how it may have fallen short of our high standards.

Depending on how organized the bride and groom are, we got to decorate and set up the day before the wedding. The catering staff was on top of things and very organized - we had a buffet and nobody had to wait long to go through the lines or get cake. The staff was quick to take down tables for the dance and get the room cleaned up. At the end of the night the Avalon's staff members helped my family and friends take down all the decorations. It's a beautiful place to celebrate and the food was excellent! -

The place was beautiful and the food is amazing. Was a little disappointed that some requests made before the event were not followed through on. Also some of the table clearing could have been better as the space felt cluttered when the dance was going on. Still a very nice place. -
