Ashyana catered our wedding reception and we absolutely loved it—the staff was very friendly and the food was delicious and elegantly displayed for appetizers, dinner, and dessert. The catering service itself went seamlessly and we received many compliments on the food and presentation. They are also cognizant and understanding of changes stemming from COVID-19 and properly guided us through the process during uncertain wedding planning times.
In particular, Ashyana’s Samar Jain is very fun to work with, thoughtful, and creative. He worked with us to build our menu and incorporated any suggestions and requests we had. Not only did we recieve excellent service by him but we also left with a wonderful friendship. -

We used Ashyana for our wedding catering and are very happy that we did! I have been familiar with Ashyana for over 15 years now and it has been elevated to a new level. I was thrilled to work with Samar on a very new and innovative menu (follow them on instagram)! We had items such as methi tacos which were an absolute hit. Beyond the food - our wedding was a COVID casualty, and Samar was beyond flexible working with us. We ended up doing a "micro wedding" in our backyard and everyone loved the food. Highly recommended! -

We had to change our wedding date twice because of Covid before settling on a date. Ashyana, and especially Samar, were there every step of the way. They helped us take our 350 person bash and turn it into an elegant, intimate, and memorable evening with 18 of the people we love most in the world. I always felt comfortable expressing my feelings about ideas to Samar, and his team was always ready and eager to adjust. As an added bonus, everyone that works for Ashyana is so kind and genuine. My husband and I could literally feel how happy they were for us on our wedding day. Two things to keep in mind --Tony is a great bartender and GET THE LAMBCHOPS! Thanks, Samar and Ashyana for all of your help! -

I was thoroughly pleased with my experience with Ashyana Catering. On top of the great service; the food was excellent as well! Since half of my guests were from out of town, we had food catered for the entire 5 days at the Double Tree in Downers Grove (recommended by Ashyana). Every meal was beyond my expectations and my guests raved about the food. Being far from home and in between events, my guests appreciated a meal that felt homecooked. From the service and staff at the hotel to the service and food from Ashyana, my wedding weekend went so smoothly. I would definitely recommend Ashyana as a venue and caterer to others. -

Ashyana Catering did an amazing job for our wedding on 7.11.2020. From the cocktail hour Hors d’oeuvres to the main course, everything tasted divine! Our guests complimented every food item and couldn’t stop raving about how delicious everything tasted. Even the vegetarian dish made specifically for me was absolutely delicious 😋. The staff was amazing as well, and very professional. We couldn’t be more pleased with the catering services provided by Samar and the catering team at Ashyana Banquets ❤️. -

We catered from Ashyana Banquets for our wedding in July 2019 and had an amazing experience with them and Samar. We were unsure of whom we wanted to cater our wedding and actually reached out to Samar rather late. Even then, he was able to get us in for a tasting and was able to alter the tastes to our liking without any hesitations. He made us feel very comfortable and at ease that we would not have to be concerned about the food on the day of the event.
At our reception, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. And Samar was sweet enough to even make us our own plates and set them up for us to eat. We had received nothing but compliments on the food from our guests. We would both highly recommend Samar and Ashyana Catering and plan on using them again for our future events. -

Ashyana is one of the best venue for an event. I have attended baby shower, and other party before and now booked an event for an engagement. Great people to work with. Manager is awesome to deal with. I even heard from 3 different decor vendors that Ashyana people are great to work with. Very flexible, willing to help. Samar is down to earth. Great to work with, so helpful and goes above and beyond to help you. Looking forward to excellent event!!!! -

Samar and his team were absolutely fantastic! Everything from the food to service to support and flexibility were top class. We now think of Samar as family and look forward to working with him on future catering needs.
A few things that stood out:
- Samar was incredibly flexible with us - about a month before the wedding, we were pretty set on doing family style. However, once we did the walk through with his team at our venue, we figured out that wouldn't work given space constraints on the table. No worries - Samar changed to buffet and adjusted prices accordingly.
- Samar and team went above and beyond for service. We (and our guests) absolutely loved the "naan cart" - I would highly recommend that for any couples.
- Menu - Samar has been doing this for a while and was fantastic in guiding us towards what our guests would like while also offering new and inventive options for us. -

Samar and his team were incredibly easy to work with for my nikkah event. The Pakistani halal menu at Ashyana is DELICIOUS. Almost every single guest commented on how tasty the food at our event was - and trust me, our guests are hard to impress! Samar was kind enough to arrange a food tasting prior to the event, and provided his input and assistance in designing the menu with us to fit our needs. Not only was the food good, but Samar personally came to my venue the day of to ensure that no problems arose. Everything was on time, as it should be, and delicious. I am so happy that we chose Ashyana and will definitely be catering from them again! -

Ashyana Catering did a first class job for my recent Indian Wedding, which included Sangeet, Vidhi, Wedding and Reception events. The owner and managers are extremely knowledgeable about customizing menus to accommodate any needs (i.e., Swaminarayan, Jain, Vegetarian, etc.). When my wife and I sat down with them to choose our menus, they made great food item suggestions to accommodate on our guests food restrictions and to ensure that we had unique menus for each night. Their catering staff setup all the food in a very accessible and well labeled fashion. Also, they very nicely setup our sundae bar topping table for Sangeet. We were very satisfied with the hard work by their team. I would highly recommend Ashyana Catering to anyone considering a large family or friends function. -

There's no words to describe how Samar and his uncle managed our wedding from the first introduction dinner to the actual event itself. We catered from Ashyana for a wedding in Indianapolis, and it could not have gone smoother.
The short review is, stop looking elsewhere and get Samar to manage your event. You will not be disappointed.
Pre-plannig / Tasting - Samar and his uncle are not the typical salesmen trying to make every dollar with up charges or menu additions. You'll notice immediately that they want the best for your event, and even if it goes against their revenue, they will suggest alternatives to improve the quality of the food and the presentation. Since this was an external location, Samar even went above and beyond to visit the venue in Indy before the event, got them to offer up their kitchen for hot samosas, and cooked onsite.
Day of Execution: This is where Ashyana and Samar really shined. They didn't need a typical planner to make sure there is enough food on the lines or need help with setup. Hotel management was on them, buffet setup was all on them, presentation of various items, prep areas, clean up, and on top of all of that, they brought salads and extra items that we never discussed. The entire process was so smooth we barely even noticed that a vendor was hustling so much that they faded to the background to make sure the guests and planners didn't need to call or ask for anything.
Food Quality: Custom drinks, on site naan, on site fried foods, and extra pastas salads really added a nice touch. The preparation and quality were top notch, and even the last person to eat (me) got piping hot food almost an hour into the buffet. This all for an event 4 hours away from their main banquet hall. -

Samar and the catering team did a fantastic job providing a light breakfast and lunch buffet for our small Indian wedding in July! They were flexible and communicative throughout the process, letting us do a tasting in the area to try everything while combining south and north Indian traditions beautifully.
Many of our guests were new to Indian food, so they also did a wonderful job preparing everything carefully and not making anything too spicy so everyone enjoyed the food.
The mango lassi we served after our baraat was also ideal to help guests cool off!
Ashyana is a fantastic restaurant and caterer! We will definitely be returning for a nice night out at their restaurant. -

Parents are usually reluctant to try anything but authentic Indian. Ashyana chefs, and Samir built a bridge between our parents and our ideas.
We ended up serving authentic Indian food with tons of modern twists. We tried 2 other caterers for tasting but Ashyana’s food tasted most authentic, and the presentation was modern. My only issue is that there was a day lag in communication in July. But we do understand that 2021 was crazy for wedding vendors. Samir was emailing us back at 2 am. That showed us how busy the industry was.
Ashyana management was also the most professional. -

Ashyana catered 3 events for our wedding. Each time, the food was perfect. They have an enormous selection so we had different food at every event. All of it was delicious. The pricing was well below average but the quality was well above. We will continue using Ashyana in the future -

We write this review with regret that, while we loved the food and loved the restaurant PRIOR to our event, we will NEVER return and will actively dissuade our family and friends from booking with Ashyana and specifically with “Uncle Jain”. In short- we had our Sangeet night at Ashyana and were extorted 2 weeks prior to our wedding for more money, breaking the contract and prior price per plate and unwilling to compromise.
In April of 2022, Samar Jain confirmed food items and things. He asked us to meet with the secretary, which we did. “Uncle Jain” was there and - out of the blue- decided the price per person was too low. He crossed out our contract and placed (laughably, in pencil) a new price which was about a 10% increase per plate. He also uncharged on some newer items that were originally discussed but not in the contract, so we have no qualms there.
Jain uncle was adamant- increase in price, and NO changing guest count. I was frustrated and said we would discuss with Samar, who signed our original contracts.
Samar discussed on the phone with me and said “no problem, we will take care of it.” After days of pushing for a call back, he agreed that we pay for the original amount of people at original cost — no changes.
I made the final payment (our original amount due), and promptly got an email 1 day later saying “Mr Jain says you agree to pay a balance- please come pay final balance due” which was in reference to what Jain Uncle had extorted us for a week prior.
Fuming- I said I would not pay anything until Jain himself spoke to me. He called, and said “let’s have fun, I request you pay the balance”. I asked what would happen if I didn’t pay this illegal balance left- and he said, “well then we won’t do shit.”
At that point, knowing the event can be jeopardized just a few days away, we paid.
The event was fine, the food was good. The business they conducted was deplorable.
Then we followed up with a letter from our lawyer right after the event. They ignored it. But rest assured, we will spread the word of Ashyanas two faces - one of “yes it’s all good” and then one of the extortion minded owners.
