Amazing wedding experience with Ashley

Ashley is AMAZING and we LOVED her. She came to us highly recommended from another photographer, and the moment I looked at her portfolio - I loved her work. Looking through her photos - she had photographed a diverse client group including BIPOC and LGBTQ+, which was really important to us. I wanted to make sure I would have someone who was experienced with capturing different skin tones and different cultural wedding traditions - and Ashley definitely has both.

From the moment we had a meeting with her - we knew we were going to have her be our photographer. She was warm, bubbly and very knowledgeable and her wedding experience clearly shone through. She really brought my fiance out of his shell and made him smile, and we knew we'd have fun spending 10 hours with her on our wedding day. She also put us at ease when we talked about navigating difficult family dynamics - again her extensive experience here came through! She also is incredibly responsive and communication with her is a breeze!

On the day of the wedding - I can't even begin to describe how much fun Ashley made our day. We had so much fun laughing with her and even moments that could be stressful (family photos!) were really fun with her touch. We felt like we were hanging out with a friend all day. My parents and bridal party told me how sweet she was and how they loved being photographed by her. Then the amazing photos... she turned them around so fast it was amazing - our guests couldn't believe it. She made sure to take our preferences into consideration. We looooooved the quality and style of the photos. Most importantly, she captured all the important moments and the important people who were there. It was so fun reliving parts of the ceremony that I didn't even remember because it was a blur. She captured our cultural ceremony perfectly. She also made a priority to get photos from our photolist with important people in our lives - which we so appreciated after we had an unexpected loss in the family and realized how important it is to have photos memorializing everyone there.

Many other friends and brides who used other photographers told me they wished their photographer captured photos of them with family/important people but Ashley made sure to get all of those and there was no one who was left out. I cannot stress how important this is and what an incredible job Ashley did capturing everyone there. My parents could not have been happier with the photos which was so important to us.

I would highly recommend Ashley for your wedding and wouldn't look anywhere else! I have already recommended her to friends getting married in the Chicagoland area. Thank you Ashley and we will definitely work with you again in the future :)

Love our photos!

Working with Ashley was great! She did our engagement and wedding photos and did an amazing job. She was friendly and responsive from the beginning, was incredibly helpful with the wedding planning process, putting together our day-of timeline, and keeping everyone calm in the face of rain, broken zippers, and other wedding day hiccups! She's also an extremely talented photographer and editor. She also was extremely professional and went out of her way to make sure our photos were great, including visiting the venue with us ahead of time to find great photo locations. We love the photos and we would recommend Ashley to everyone!

Feels Like You're Working With A Good Friend, Not A "Vendor"

My wife and I were so happy with every aspect of working with Ashley! Ashley is very skilled and has great vision, was always professional and accommodating, and we love both our engagement and wedding collections! Our wedding collection turned out so beautifully that we're having trouble narrowing down to our favorites. But, I think the best thing about working with Ashley was how comfortable she made us feel. It felt like we were working with a friend, not a "vendor". And given the fact that your wedding day is probably one of the most nerve-wracking days of your life, being comfortable with Ashley and having her help us stay calm and be ourselves was key! We would absolutely work with Ashley again (and we hope we get the chance to)!

Hire Her! 📸

Ashley was absolutely amazing. She is a critical part of what made our wedding day seamless and so special. Prior to the meeting we talked with Ashley three different times. She did all her homework on our venue and took all the information for our other vendors so she could connect with them. The day of the wedding she kept us moving and did such a great job at keeping us calm (we both tend to overstress during big moments). We did a first look, and both Ashley and her partner had a game plan for some amazing shots!! During the wedding she kept up with us and made sure we were enjoying our day. She was never far from us in case we needed a photo. There was one point the bride said “oh we should get a picture when the photographer is done eating” and Ashley was by our side in a second as she had heard us from several tables away and darted to our sides! Ashley felt more like a guest at our wedding than a vendor -- she was so much fun and did such a great job.
All the photos were more than we could have hoped for. We have been reliving the day by going through them all.

Outstanding!!

After attending a wedding that Ashley shot, Mitch and I quickly knew we wanted to have her apart of our wedding. Initially meeting with Ashley was so comfortable and friendly. We got a great vibe from her from the start. In the summer, we shot our engagement pictures with her and our dog. She was very accommodating and really knew the best places to get a good shot! Our evening with her felt like a night out with a friend. She made us feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole time. When we got our pictures back, we were blown away with how beautiful and natural they were! The amount of compliments we got was unreal! For our wedding day, Ashley was on time, calm, and as always, hilarious! She made the morning/getting ready so much fun, she worked so well with our videographer, and brought along a great backup shooter. Ashley was organized and assertive as she wrangled all our families together for family portraits. We were able to get so many shots in prior to the ceremony because of how well she directed us. Throughout our whole wedding, Ashley captured it all. Our wedding was in June, and I still feel like I look through the pictures daily!! I highly highly recommend Ashley for any photography needs. Her pictures are breath taking, natural, and unique. Asking Ashley to be apart of our big day was the smartest part of our wedding planning and she gave us something to cherish forever!! Captured the intimacy and playfulness of our special day!

Ashley is a dream partner to work with. From the first moment she was engaging, easily reachable and very relaxed - there was never any confusion about her pricing or availability, and she was flexible with me while I tried to coordinate a small wedding from abroad.

The weeks before the wedding she would check in and ask me what I needed, and she was super punctual the day of. I really cannot express how much her presence was a gift on my big day - she kept me calm and was aware of so many details that were missed (like reminding my sister to take her watch off for pictures or picking lint or a stray hair off a shoulder), and none of the pictures we ended up with looked forced or staged.

Her style is very organic - this meant that I could keep my introverted groom focused on me and our day without him feeling on-the-spot or uncomfortable. Normally he can be quite stiff for pictures - but her photos really captured the man I fell in love with and the love we share.

If you are looking for joyful, organic photos that will tell the story of your day and the people that you love, Ashley would be my #1 recommendation. I will always be grateful for the pictures she took for us and how honestly they capture the love that was shared on our special day.

Amazing Photogrpaher and Partner!!

Ashley is a great vendor and partner to have on your team in the months leading up to your big day and the day of your wedding! She made sure she was always avaiable for us the months leading up to our wedding, on the weekends and at night. We always felt like we were her only client and top priority. The best decision ever!!

Ashley was hands down the best wedding vendor decision we made in every way possible. Not only is she incredibly talented, friendly, and always available, but she went above and beyond to make sure my day was perfect. We FaceTimed so many times leading up to the wedding and she made it seem as though I was always her top priority. She even FaceTimed with me on a Friday night and reached out to nearly all of her florist contacts to help me find someone after I unexpectedly had to cancel my contract with my previous florist. Needless to say, Ashley was more than just my photographer, but was a friend/therapist through the entire process and I could not have done it without her.

The day of the wedding, Ashley was organized and commanded the whole group to make sure we stayed on schedule. The entire wedding party and all of the parents loved her and she was joyful to be around the whole day. Also, I have been to several weddings where all you notice is the photographer snapping pictures, but somehow she managed to be discreet and blend in with the wedding- and still get all of the pictures!
Having my wedding in December, my biggest fear was what the weather was going to be like and how to prepare for it. In true friend fashion, Ashley helped me pick out the “just in case umbrellas” and drove around town the day before the wedding looking for all the potential photo locations. Of course it poured the day of, but we made the most of it and the umbrella pictures are some of my favorites!

Every single picture turned out absolutely amazing. I have gotten SO many compliments, and several people have told me they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. Not only will she perfectly capture your day and give amazing memories, but she will overall make your day better. I could go on and on about why you should choose Ashley for your wedding or next event, but just trust me and do it!

Ashley is just a dream! From the first time we met her, we could see the passion for what she does shine through. We talked for over 2 hours about our day, the vision for our photos, what was important to us...on and on, and she was right there with us for the whole process. In the months and weeks leading up to our wedding day, she answered countless questions, bounced ideas around, and was just a delight to work with and get to know.

Our engagement session was so fun we didn't want it to end- well, actually we did because it was freezing! You never hear Ashley complain! The photos turned out absolutely stunning and are a true reflection of our personalities.

Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. Ashley handled the wedding party, families, multiple locations, and a tight timeline like a pro. And she was a joy throughout. We received so many compliments from our guests on 'our amazing photographer'. The photos are exactly what we wanted. Beautifully lit, timeless, and they feel like 'us'. We will treasure them for years to come.

Ashley photographed our family in the summer of 2016, did our engagement photos, and most importantly our wedding photos 10/7/17. She is the sweetest, most kind individual I've ever met. Her photos are absolutely stunning most importantly. Leading up to our big day, Ashley was super responsive, checked in regularly, helped generate ideas for our photos, and made this piece of our day not even a concern on my radar. The day of our wedding it was rainy, and we had an outdoor ceremony and photos that we wanted. She called me early in the morning to let me know she was coming early so that we can get some outdoor shots as she was watching the sunlight and the radar. She managed my stress all day, was super calm, and my entire family just adored her. The photos she produced are absolutely gorgeous! Ashley went to Riviera Maya, Mexico this past summer to do our wedding photography. With the time frame she had, she took it upon herself to help us find special spots (at the resort) to take our wedding photos. She was welcoming, organized, and encouraging towards the wedding party and guests. We were amazed by her creativity and the ability to find photography locations that not only fit the environment but also the timing with the sunlight. Our wedding consisted of an outdoor ceremony (at sunset) with a reception indoors. When we arrived to the indoor location, she knew exactly what to do with the lighting inside. She made a special request on lighting with our wedding coordinators to ensure that we had the most crisp photos of our special day. We enjoyed her ability to stick to a tight timeline and to capture images that were in real time. We personally wanted someone who could connect with us and capture our natural expressions/memories. Ashley is a great photographer.

Ashley shot our summer wedding in Chicago. Her pictures were amazing, absolutely everything we ever dreamed of. If you go to her website you can see that she’s incredibly talented, and her work speak for itself. What makes her special (and deserving of all the stars we can give) is that in addition to being an incredible photographer, she’s also very easy to work with. We live on the east coast, but scheduling time to talk with her was a breeze and she even drove out here to do our engagement photo session. My wife and I are a little shy and we really wanted to work with a photographer who would make us feel comfortable. That’s Ashley to a T. She’s not afraid to tell you her opinion, which being two indecisive people is something we wanted, but she’s able to balance that with a keen sense of what you want. On the day of, she deftly handled all of our crazy requests with aplomb and, well, her amazing pictures speak for themselves.

If I could give Ashley 10 stars I would! She is by far, bar none, one of the world's truest gifted photographers. She has a natural talent not only behind the lens but with people of all walks of life and of all ages. She can relate to the young and old and handle herself professionally in all occasions. My family all loved her and she captured our greatest memories. We've had her photograph not only our wedding, but our babies and every yearly family session since. She has become our one and only family photographer! She's truly the best!

Ashley and Lucas were absolutely amazing! If you are looking for someone to capture beautiful genuine moments without being in your face, then Id select her as well as for many other reasons. Ashley was flexible, open to suggestions and was focused on us. Went beyond a photographer as she also helped with managing groups to keep the party moving. We had some stern no smilers, well that was not an option with Ashley as she had everyone smiling. The moments captured were beautiful! She was also flexible with us on price, all we had to do was communicate our needs and we were able to work everything out leading to a perfect experience

I cannot say enough good things about Ashley and her photography skills. I found Ashley on Thumbtack over 2 years ago and have hired her for a portrait session and recently, our wedding! She really was a great addition to our day. She helped us with our schedule months out from the wedding and had great communication and ideas! On the day off she arrived early, confirmed the schedule with the DJ to make sure everything ran smoothly, put the boutonniere's on the groomsmen, fixed my dress, made sure the flowers were properly taken care of, made sure we got pictures with my grandma who I never get to see, took amazing pictures and was just a total sweetheart. I would highly recommend her for portrait, engagement or wedding photography. She does great work and will work with your budget too!

Ashley is THE best. We got married in Starved Rock State Park in July. Ashley and her team were absolutely amazing. They traveled with no problem and literally climbed a canyon to capture the perfect photo :) She has a calming and nurturing personality. Ashley went above and beyond on my wedding day. She even played the role of semi-wedding coordinator for me without being asked to do so! Ashley & her team went above and beyond before, during, & after our wedding. She stepped in when we had to fire our event planner. She stepped in when we had to kick my maid of honor out. She answered all emails, texts, phone calls promptly. She calmed my nerves, listened to me cry, and was just over all absolutely amazing. She wrangled difficult family members and at the same time went with the flow. It was pouring and freezing during our pictures so she got us all photographed calmly and quickly. She even made sure I drank enough water and had enough to eat. She was amazing and is amazing. We highly recommend her.

Ashley is my best friend since childhood so it was a no brainer to book her for our wedding, but her work is so amazing that I'd book her even if we had never met. She is incredibly professional, friendly, funny, and delivers a quality product. She was patient and kind with my family and friends and they all commented on how great she was. Ashley was our wedding photographer last summer in the suburbs of Chicago. She did an outstanding job and we loved working with her! She is a lovely, kind person as well as a very talented photographer. She brought along an extra photographer free of charge just because she was excited about our wedding venue! We absolutely love our wedding photos, and have heard so many compliments on them from friends and family. Go with Ashley, and you will not be disappointed!

Ashley was exactly what we were looking for in a photographer. She was responsive and got to know us and our style, and the photos we have from our wedding day are exactly what we had hoped for! We did an engagement session with her as well and would definitely recommend this to others - it was good to see how she works and to get to know her better before the big day. Ashley got us our photos in a very timely manner and was quick to send us a flash drive of our photos when asked. Ashley and her second shooter were amazing! Ashley was super communicative from the very beginning throughout all of the planning and straight through the very end. She really got my vision. The pictures turned out amazing. She was really friendly and easy to work with. Everyone loved her! She was a recommendation from a good photographer friend (my friend was at the wedding and I didn't want her to have to work my wedding). She willingly made the long drive out to Illinois Beach Resort without charging me a travel fee. I was not disappointed and would recommend Ashley to anyone looking for a great, affordable photographer who really has a passion for photography!

We got married 8/15/15 and we couldn't have asked for a better, more professional, fun, encouraging, and talented photographer. My mom did her research and found Ashley online and read all the great reviews. So we took the plunge and contacted her. We met up for coffee and within the first few minutes we could tell she was the one. She was sweet, bubbly, explained her style and her passion. We talked numerous times on the phone and over emails and meet up a few times to finalize the big day. When that day came I can tell you she made me feel like a one of a kind bride. She did an amazing job of taking all the photo's we asked for. All 570 photos were amazing. She really knew how to capture our special day. And we were glad she was apart or our special day. Ashley was my first choice in photographers for our wedding. She very agreeably traveled to Colorado to capture our ceremony and reception. The pictures came out perfect and she was an amazing help on our day. Positivity oozes from her and it shows in her work. Her instuctions were clear and quick as far as poses and groupings for photos which was perfect because we were outside in the snow! Highly recommend her!

While looking for a photographer for our wedding we had Ashley come recommended to us by a few people we knew. We didn't really know what to look for and how all of this worked so I emailed Ashley and quickly got a response back and a date to meet her so we could discuss.

She was wildly helpful with planning out shots for our wedding (and this was before we had hired her) and on that first meeting also helped us with planning our wedding schedule. She was very professional but still very fun to talk to and so excited about our wedding.

We hired the night we met her and figured "ok, we will probably hear from her again a little before the wedding." That was not the case. She was always in touch to make sure everything was going smoothly and to give us added information that would help us in the process.

She turned out to not just be our photographer, but a part of our wedding. We loved having her share our day and our pictures all came out beautiful. We could not have asked for better! The only thing that I would do different would be to get pictures of my wife and myself with Ashley. We wish we could have had pictures with her being that she did become a part of our family that day. I truly cant say enough good about her and know she will have a long future in this business.

My husband and I eloped on our 10 year anniversary in May. We thank Ashley for her willingness to meet us at the forest preserve on a Wednesday morning at 8am! We did not have anyone present at our ceremony except for an officiant. This did not matter, Ashley captured so many great images! She caught both of our personalities and we were able to share with our family and friends, as if they were there with us. She made our day that much more special with her ease and amazing work! We were so happy that we found Ashley Hamm Photography and would highly recommend her for any type of photography needs.
