I cannot express my gratitude enough to Emily for helping to make my day so special and feel so beautiful! She made sitting still and getting makeup done so enjoyable with conversation and fun laughs! And the makeup itself was incredible, on wedding day and during the trial too! She was flexible and open to changes and truly made my makeup exactly what I wanted! My bridesmaids and the moms all looked stunning, she made sure that each person felt their absolute best and devoted the time to each person he! Emily was so wonderful to work with for our wedding! She was great from start to finish. She was so prompt with communication and she is so fun and easy to talk to! All of my bridal party got compliments all day and night! The most amazing thing to me is that none of us even needed a touch h up throughout the night. I could not recommended Emily enough for wedding makeup! She is easy to communicate with, personable, was prompt on wedding day, and did an amazing job on my bridesmaids and Is makeup! I booked Emily for our wedding after she had done such an incredible job with my sister's wedding a few years ago, and I loved working with her! We were able to have a trial a few months before the wedding and she was really thorough about my look, matching it with my dress, and really listening to anything I wanted to change. On the day, she showed up super early and was able to not only do an amazing job on my bridal makeup, but did 5 of my bridesmaids AND 3 moms. She is a rockstar! I am so happy that I chose Emily as my makeup artist for my wedding! Emily is a true professional who has an obvious passion for makeup and takes pride in her work. She is a versatile artist who completely understood what I was after when I told her I wanted something natural and not too heavy because I wanted to look like myself on my wedding day. During our trial, she was very communicative and encouraged me to make adjustments because she wanted me to be 100% happy with my look.
When it came time for the wedding, Emily brought such a wonderful and positive energy to our get-ready room. She is so funny and down-to-earth! I had a great time sitting in her chair getting ready with her and my bridal party. She spent about three hours doing makeup for me, my three bridesmaids, and my mom, who was a bit nervous about wearing a full face of makeup, but Emily did such an amazing job at enhancing our natural features. We all looked absolutely beautiful!
I had an outdoor wedding, and let me tell you, was 85 degrees and HUMID in early September. At one point I remember thinking, “Oh my gosh, I bet my face is just melting off right now.” But then I caught myself in a mirror and saw that my makeup was still perfectly in place! I was shocked. It ended up lasting all day and looked amazing both in-person and in pictures.
Overall, I would highly recommend Emily to anyone who is looking for a reliable and talented artist who refuses to take shortcuts and genuinely cares about the quality of her work. Thank you so much, Emily, for being such an integral part of our day! You’re the best! 😊

I absolutely love the makeup that Emily did for my wedding day! We did a few minor tweaks at my trial but she got the look I was going for on the first try. She did my makeup, 2 MoHs, my mom, my future MIL, and flower girl. All 6 of our makeups looked amazing and complimented each person's coloring. And the best part is my makeup lasted all day and continued to look flawless! She is so personable and fit in perfectly with my bridal party, the moms, and my hairstylist.

Emily was so great and so sweet. I’m not much of a makeup person, so I was concerned about looking completely different on my wedding day, but she has this incredible ability to create soft and gorgeous bridal looks that really just accentuate your natural features. My mom had similar concerns and wanted to have her makeup done as well. She was open to any adjustments and didn’t seem to take anything to heart if we wanted to change or add anything. We trusted her and she really hit it out of the park. My skin looked flawless all night even though I struggle with acne and other skin issues. She made me feel beautiful and increased my confidence for our special day.

Couldn’t recommend Emily more as a MUA & overall amazing person to be around on your wedding day or any event you may have. Great communication right from the start and is very accommodating and professional. She has uplifting and fun energy but is grounding and calm at the same time which I loved! Emily was incredible at helping me capture my wedding lewk! I was going for 60's mod, I dream of Jeanie, French, but with a fun poppy vibe and she NAILED it. We had hired Emily to be our makeup artist for the day of our wedding. She not only did our makeup but all our wedding party as well. We cannot say enough about her! We are older brides, so we did not know what to expect. Emily made me feel incredibly beautiful on my wedding day! She made sure she had a clear understanding of what I was looking for and asked for feedback every step of the way to ensure she was capturing my vision. My wife and I both loved working with Emily for our wedding! She was so fun and made the whole process seamless. She was able to make us both feel comfortable wearing more makeup than we were used to and gave us exactly what we wanted- a natural but noticeable look. The absolute best
I got married on 9/5/2021. I originally was referred to Emily, and got an immediate reply. The trial my mom and I had with her shortly after, was so smooth and so much fun, we knew it would be a great time getting ready on the wedding day. She really listened to what we were looking for and brought it to life for the both of us. She was so sweet and professional. When we decided to move the wedding day back, she was so accommodating. On the day of, she had such a positive energy that we were all so relaxed the morning of. My entire bridal party had different styles and interests on what they wanted for they day and she was able to meet all of their unique needs while also making sure it was cohesive as a group. Each one of them loved their makeup and are still talking about how great she was. I felt so beautiful and confident, thanks to her. My mom was recently diagnosed with cancer and was self-conscious with how she would look for the wedding day. Emily helped my mom feel so beautiful while also comfortable and I could see her confidence radiate because of her. I cannot thank her enough for doing that for her. Makeup lasted through 9+ hours of photos, crying, dancing, etc. I cannot wait to hopefully work with Emily again soon for another event.

10/10 highly recommend Emily for your Wedding or any special event! I got my trial done on the day of my co-ed Bridal Shower. I received so many compliments and felt amazing! All of my bridesmaids were so excited when I shared with them that they would be getting theirs done for the Wedding as well. Emily was such a pleasure to work with. She was quick to respond to emails, was helpful with sharing some pre-wedding skincare tips and was so understanding when achieving my vision. Artistry by Emily (Emily Lau) – My experience with Emily was wonderful! I am so grateful that I stumbled upon her on the Knot! I am not a big makeup person Emily interpreted my vision and brought it to life! My biggest goal was to look like myself on my wedding day, just a very pretty version that would photograph well lol. And my goodness did Emily deliver! I have never felt more beautiful in my life. Not only did she make me feel like a queen, she made sure that every single one of my bridesmaids also felt like queens! She even went above and beyond and researched makeup techniques for my bridesmaid who was going through chemo treatments just to make sure she also had a wonderful experience. If I could give Emily a 10-star rating I would. Overall, I would highly recommend!

HONEST CRITIQUES: I had a bigger bridal party (7 girls, myself, & 2 moms getting lashes only) so by the end my bride anxiety was causing me to feel a little rushed. If I had to do it again, I would have asked Emily to bring her assistant. Important to note, that Emily did finish on schedule just by herself, I just think I would have been more comfortable if she had an extra set of hands. Not Emily’s fault by any means – just a thought for the next bride with a big party deciding if she wants Emily to bring an assistant or not.

It looked flawless & I never felt more beautiful! I never got a chance to reapply my lips later because I was too busy enjoying my day! I can’t thank her enough for making me look like a Princess for my fairytale day! Funny enough we also grew up in the same neighborhood and while talking to my Mom she actually knows some of our family. Emily also did lashes on my Mom & sister which looked equally as beautiful. Emily was wonderful to work with for my wedding day! When we had to move dates due to Covid my original makeup artist was no longer available and that’s how I ended up finding Emily. She was very responsive as soon as I reached out to her and there were never any issues with communication. She listened to my ideas and feedback during my makeup trial so that I was comfortable with the look she planned for my wedding day. As someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup on a regular basis, it was comforting knowing she wasn’t going to pressure me into a look I didn’t want. Emily arrived early on the day of the wedding and had four bridesmaids and myself done ahead of schedule. She was very professional and worked alongside the hair stylist extremely well. Everyone’s makeup looked natural yet absolutely beautiful the day of the wedding and I would highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a makeup artist!

I can't say enough good things about Emily! She's so sweet, accommodating, and amazing at what she does. I actually had someone else hired first but it didn't work out with them, thank God I found Emily! Everyone looked like perfection for my wedding and the makeup was just as good at the end of the night as it was at the beginning. The way she does the makeup just made us look like amazing versions of ourselves, not like someone else, and you didn't feel like you had a ton of stuff on your face. My cousin used Emily for her Bridal and her bridesmaids’ makeup a couple years ago and they all looked so beautiful I knew I had to book her for my own. I had an idea of what I wanted from a picture of another bride she had done and when I went for my trial makeup she nailed it perfectly! Emily has this gift of playing up your own natural beauty and adds just a touch of Glam to perfection. It’s exactly what I was looking for! There are so many MUA in the Pittsburgh area, but Emily is a perfect choice! I hired Emily after reading reviews, and Instagram browsing, and she did not disappoint. Emily is always professional in her communications and timely to respond. The day of the wedding she made all of the girls feel so comfortable and was very accommodating. All of the girls, including myself, loved her work so much. A few of my bridesmaids even said that they liked their makeup better than they did on their own wedding day! She's your girl!
Emily was recommended by a fellow MUA for my October wedding. After my inquiry, she responded within an hour to let me know she was available for my date. Emily is incredibly talented and took into account everything I told her that I wanted for my big day, including that I had crazy oily skin & how foundation never stays on my chin! She graciously invited me to her home for my trial and it was nothing but comfortable. There was lots of laughs! On my big day, Emily was prompt, even texting me that morning to let me know she was on her way to our hotel. She was timely with all of my girls' makeup as well as my own. She even had enough time to do my future MIL, who decided last minute she wanted her makeup done. My makeup lasted the whole evening, with minor touch ups (to my chin of course!)

Emily did such a wonderful job with my wedding day make up! She was able to work with my vision, and we used my trial to play around with different colors and techniques. She was receptive to my feedback, and helped me find the best fit. I also had a lip color and foundation I wanted to use instead of what she uses, and she was happy to use my own items along with her own. She was so cheerful the day of, and it was nice to have her on our glam squad on our big day! I would highly recommend her for both bridal and bridal party makeup.

Fun friendly professional that can pull off any look
For my wedding I wanted a Dewey natural glow that lasted all night and made my husband feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Emily helped me to accomplish both of those things! My makeup lasted through the tears, the laughs and all the champagne. She was able to go with the flow while we were all rushing to get last minute details ready the morning of and she did so excitedly and with a smile on her face. There is nothing but positive things to say about Emily! I originally found her when I was searching on instagram for a makeup artist for my wedding day, and I was blown away by her work, so I knew I had to have her! We did a makeup trial, which she was completely accommodating for, and it was phenomenal. I can be kind of picky when it comes to my makeup, but Emily understood, and made me look perfect! Fast forward to my wedding day, I didn't think it was possible, but my makeup was even better that day! She made me feel like a true princess. All of the colors used on me complimented my skin tone and my eyes so well. People were complimenting my makeup all night. Emily was absolutely amazing to work with! When I first met her for my wedding trial, she came right to my house!
I generally don’t wear a ton of makeup on a daily basis and she listened to exactly what I wanted and made me feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day!
She showed up to our hotel on time and even stayed to do touch ups on the girls who had their make up done first in the morning!
She is the sweetest and I would highly recommend her to any bride!

Emily was exactly what I needed for the biggest day of my life, and more. She loves what she does, and she is beyond talented. I felt super comfortable around her at my trial, and she was very understanding and responsive every time I changed my mind as my wedding approached. Her personality is just the sweetest, and you can tell that she is genuinely happy for you and excited to be a part of your day. Before I had even met her, it was her work that made me book her. I am so excited to get my pictures back so I can give her work justice! Thanks Emily from one very happy bride!

Booking Emily as our make-up artist for my wedding was the best decision I made. She was a wonderful person to work with and so accommodating, she has the perfect personality for working with bridal parties! I had three bridesmaids ask after she was already there if they could get their makeup done too, Emily made it seem like no problem and was more than happy to squeeze them in. All of our makeup looked incredible and I was amazed at how everyone's turned out. I didn't have a chance to do a trail run with Emily but that was completely fine because she made my makeup turn out better than I would even imagine and she had never practiced on me before. Which tells you that she is just that GREAT at her job. I would recommend Emily to any Bride looking for a makeup artist, her prices are great and she is willing to travel a great distance to help make your day that special!!

Emily did my make up for my cousin's wedding! My make up came out absolutely perfect and I received so many compliments! Emily was professional and extremely talented! I will definitely be contracting her again when I have another event or just need to get dolled up for a special night out!

Emily was fabulous! She was very accommodating, she came to my home for the bridal trial and traveled to the ceremony site. Emily was professional and incredibly friendly, my bridal party kept changing up until the last minute and she was so accommodating and understanding of last minute changes! I don't normally wear makeup and was a little concerned about how I would look but she did an outstanding job. She completely understood what I wanted and made me feel so comfortable with my look! Everyone in my bridal party looked absolutely flawless! Everyone's makeup stayed perfect the entire duration of the wedding well into the early hours of the next morning. I absolutely loved working with Emily, she was a pleasure to be around and did a phenomenal job! I would highly recommend her for any occasion!

Emily is just a peach! She was incredibly prepared, professional, and kind. I lost track of how many times I had to change the number of people that wanted to get makeup done, up until the week of the wedding. This was no problem to her, and she was very patient with all of my updates. On top of just being a wonderful person, my makeup (as well as my Mom's and everyone in my bridal party) looked incredible. I did a trial, and she gave me the exact look that I was hoping for. She made me look and feel so beautiful and glamorous on my special day, and my makeup stayed put - even on an unexpected hot day in October! Emily is the best!

Emily was wonderful! She came to my parents home to do makeup the morning of my wedding for my whole bridal party. Everyone looked beautiful and she was so kind and helpful!

Flexible, professional, and a joy to work with
Emily was so flexible and understanding during my entire wedding process. I changed getting ready locations 3 times and she even worked with me through COVID to make sure I got a safe trial and had a wonderful getting ready experience, despite the limitations put in place. She is very easy to get ahold of and truly wants to be a special part of each brides day.
