You've found your music team - Arioso Strings is the best!

Mary and the Arioso Strings team are absolutely amazing. Mary is so quick at responding, and is so helpful in putting together music. We had a violin and guitar duo for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and they sounded brilliant together. They were dressed professionally and arrived perfectly on time. We even asked Mary to obtain some sheet music to a song from the Godfather, and she was able to do that quickly and the musicians executed the song flawlessly, much to my new husband's delight. We had so many compliments from the guests on the music! Huge thanks to Mary and Arioso Strings for making our wedding day unforgettable.

Perfect Wedding Ambiance

Arioso Strings did an outstanding job. It rained until about 30 minutes before the ceremony and they quickly setup and played, creating a perfect ambiance for our ceremony.

Fantastic music that made our ceremony magical

We can’t say enough about how amazing Arioso Strings was at our wedding ceremony! They were incredibly professional, working with us to customize the music to fit our vision and personal style. The music planner they provided (with samples) was immensely helpful for picking out each piece of music, and Lucy was very responsive to all of our questions. Everything went so smoothly, and we loved each piece of music.

Great experience!

We hired a string trio for our ceremony and they did an amazing job! They have a wide selection of classical and pop music to choose from and you can specify when you want each song played. They sounded amazing and the songs were easily recognizable.

A Delightful Experience!

We can definitely endorse, without reservation, Arioso Strings as a premier provider of elegant string music for a wedding or other social function. Professionalism, attention to detail, and dignified elegance are their calling card. Lucy was easy to work with and helped us coordinate our selections for the event. We live out of town and Lucy put our mind at ease and was easy to communicate with. Their performance made our daughter's wedding special and were the talk of the ceremony among our guests.

Arioso Strings is incredible! From the minute we reached out for information to the days leading up to our wedding, they were prompt and helpful in all their communications. We also received SO many compliments from our guests on the fun selection of music that was played during the ceremony. Lucy helped work with us and guide us to ensure our list of songs would flow well together and they were perfect. Arioso Strings is incredible, professional and talented and we would highly recommend them!!

Gorgeous music for our wedding reception

I absolutely loved having Arioso Strings at our wedding reception! Lucy was fantastic and very easy to work with. They have quite the repertoire of songs that goes beyond the list that they have online, all you have to do is ask Lucy - they are also willing to learn a new song if they can find the right sheet music for it. They sounded absolutely amazing, I could've listened to them all night. Overall it was a wonderful experience, I would highly recommend Arioso Strings if you are looking for any string ensembles!

Now I cry whenever I hear violins

The first thing I knew I wanted when we decided to get married was a 4 string quartet. The full sound, the glory of stringed instruments pulling me down the aisle to my destiny. There isn't much in Raleigh to compete, but now I know why. My ceremony was like a dream. My mom and husband-to-be walked down to Hey Jude, and my procession walked to Starlight, by Muse. Then it was my turn, and they made it exceptionally hard not to try the moment I heard Hopipolla, Sigur Ros start up played by live strings. There's nothing like it on earth. I'm getting choked up writing this, but music is so connected to our fundamental emotional response as humans - it was the most important thing to me, and they made my dream come true. Glorious.

Arioso is the best choice for wedding music

Arioso strings with their talented, gifted musicians performed at my daughter's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. Amazing. Amazing String Quartet!

Mary Block and Lucy Greenleaf and the rest of the musicians were incredible. They were so supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. Played BEAUTIFULLY at the ceremony and cocktail hour. I had a very special request for my entrance song and the celloist played it perfectly. We received multiple compliments from guests at the wedding about how amazing and talented the string quartet was. Thank you so much for making our wedding day even better!

Incredible music!

We had a string quartet play for our ceremony and for cocktail hour and they were FANTASTIC! I wanted all contemporary songs and Arioso already had a great list to choose from. Mary was also able to confirm they had a handful of other songs I was interested in and was able to procure the one I wanted most they didn’t have yet. I really enjoyed how easy it was to work with Arioso Strings and so happy with how the day turned out.

Mary, Lucy and the rest of Arioso Strings are a 10/10 and a "must have" for your wedding day! They were so incredibly easy to work with, especially through the process of postponing our wedding. Both Mary and Lucy were extremely responsive and were so accommodating and willing to take the time to talk through exactly how to bring your wedding vision to life. Of course, the music they played during our ceremony and cocktail hour was absolutely beautiful and it was one of the pieces of our wedding I was looking forward to the most. Boy did they deliver :) Our guests continue to comment on how beautiful our ceremony was and huge part of that is credited to Arioso Strings. THANK YOU!

Mary, Lucy, and the group at Arioso was a great experience. They were flexible and accommodating our date change due to COVID, were professional and responsive every step of the way, and performed wonderfully on the day. Great ceremony music!

The ceremony music was beautiful, and the group was easy to work with as far as creating a list of songs for the ceremony itself, and the prelude to the ceremony. A great variety of songs, from the traditional to the unexpected – my (now) husband was very excited he could sneak in Zelda’s Lullaby from the Ocarina of Time and several other guests commented on the pleasing variety that worked really well together.

Best Decision for my wedding!

I am so happy I chose to add a string quartet to my wedding ceremony and reception. It made the entire experience everything I had dreamed of. Arioso strings were absolutely amazing! They were professional and so easy to work with. I last minute changed my ceremony music to more contemporary songs (from traditional) and they were so accommodating. Absolutely beautiful wedding music!

Arioso Strings was the most perfect choice for music at our daughter’s wedding. Mary was so helpful with the planning process and helped us ‘out of the box’ and into some more personal choices that were perfection. After the ceremony, our family and friends said they were sad when the music stopped. The trio actually received applause from our guests. Simply a perfect choice. Amazing Wedding Music

Craig and Luciano played guitar and violin at our daughters wedding. They were amazing and so kind. We received so many compliments on the wedding music. Mary was very helpful and prompt with responses when we had a question. The site is very easy to navigate to help you choose the perfect music. They were happy to learn new songs that we requested. Great Musicians!

Arioso Strings performed live music for our Wedding Ceremony on 06/01/2019 at Melrose Knitting Mill and they did a fantastic job! Mary Block was very easy to work with, everything was very straight forward. They have a lot of samples and suggestions on their website to help you make selections. They were on-time and played beautifully. We would definitely recommend them!

The Soundtrack to our Beautiful Day!

Arioso Strings was one of the BEST things we invested in on our wedding day. We hired them as a string quartet which provided an ample amount of sound for our venue at the Angus Barn. Not only was the music poignant and beautiful but the flexibility and the versatility of the group went above and beyond our needs. Music was of utmost importance to both of us and we asked for 2 songs during our ceremony that were not listed in their repertoire-- "Buongiorno Principessa" from 'Life is Beautiful' and "Storybook Love" from 'The Princess Bride.' Arioso Strings, and specifically Mary Block, was incredibly extremely accommodating to our requests, down to the nitty gritty details of each piece. Mary was SO responsive and quick at getting back to every email I sent. She was also very positive about finding elegant and beautiful arrangements for these songs. On the day of, I felt so confident and assured that they would do a wonderful job, and they absolutely did!! Arioso Strings also has an very wide repertoire that they already offer, including popular modern songs (My husband loved "Concerning Hobbits" from Lord of the Rings). as well as old favorites like Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" or the Brandenburg Concertos. Please do yourself a favor and hire Arioso Strings for your wedding music. They are simply the best!!

one note:
if they could be amplified outdoors when there are more than 50-75 attendees, would be nice: very difficult to hear with 200 in courtyard unless you were within 15 feet of them

Best Decision Ever!

Mary was so easy to work with! Best decision ever to have Arioso Strings (quartet) play at my son's wedding! Never had to worry about a thing as far as the ceremony music and cocktail hour music. Arioso strings has a very large repertoire of music to choose from so there was something for everyone!

Live music enhanced my wedding!

Mary and Arioso Strings exceeded my expectations. They were wonderful to work with and were willing to investigate an arrangement for a trio to accompany a soloist for a special song that we had planned. I received numerous compliments for the beautiful music. I also need to mention how very responsive Mary was. She communicated with me multiple times from her vacation to make sure that my questions were answered. I highly recommend Arioso Strings for anyone planning an elegant wedding.

Great to work with!

Mary is a true professional and was a pleasure to work with. We were very specific about the music we wanted and she easily accommodated it all. Other groups we spoke with were not nearly as helpful, but Arioso Strings was great. Weather changed our venue to indoors and they were very adaptable. Everything was perfect!

Arioso Strings did a wonderful job with the music for our wedding ceremony. First of all, Mary Block went out of her way to find incredible musicians for us. They were absolutely fantastic! We had a lot of specific pieces that we wanted played at various points during the service, and Mary was able to accommodate all of our requests and provide helpful suggestions. She also went the extra mile by arranging and transposing two vocal pieces that we wanted performed. Mary was incredibly responsive to our many emails and talked with us on the phone on several occasions. She ensured that every single detail regarding the string and vocal music was taken care of. We could not have been happier with how our ceremony music turned out!

Highly Recommend

An Arioso Strings Quintet provided music for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They were fabulous from our very first conversations, through every moment of wedding day. Their composer transcribed one of our favorite pieces for quintet, and when it was played on wedding day, the guests erupted into spontaneous applause. Months after the wedding, people are still talking about the beautiful music. The musicians were also wonderfully flexible and professional when an unexpected summer storm had us scrambling at the last minute to move to our indoor "Plan B." Simply can't say enough good things about Mary Block and Arioso Strings. Even though I don't have another wedding coming up, I'll be looking for an excuse to hire them again!

We were so happy that we hired Arioso Strings for our wedding at The Cookery in Durham. Mary was very responsive and professional--even when we inquired over the holidays and she was traveling overseas. She helped us choose the best music for our ceremony, and we received many compliments about the talent of the musicians at our event. My only regret is that, as the bride, I couldn't hear most of what they played since I was waiting in a different part of the venue! We would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Arioso Strings provided a string quartet for our wedding, and I couldn't be happier with their contribution to our ceremony. I am a professional musician myself, so I was very particular in choosing repertoire for the prelude, processional, and recessional. They were not standard choices for a wedding, so I appreciated all the preparation they put into making sure it would all go off without a hitch. In addition, my father (a composer) wrote an interlude for the string quartet to perform with him on harp. It was such a beautiful addition to the ceremony, and the quartet did a splendid job with it. Mary's professionalism and attention to detail put my mind at ease while planning the wedding, and I was very happy with their beautiful playing for our ceremony.

Mary and her musicians know great music! We hired a violinist and cellist from the Arioso team to play at our ceremony and cocktail hour, and they did an incredible job.

When planning our ceremony music selections, Mary provided excellent expertise on what would sound the best. The team was able to play both of the songs that we wanted included – “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley and “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. At the suggestion of Mary, the musicians also played “Here Comes the Sun” by the Beatles as our recessional song – which was absolutely perfect as the sun was just starting to come out after a torrential downpour!

The musicians performed beautifully, and they really elevated our ceremony and cocktail hour!

We used an Arioso Strings quartet for both my daughter’s wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour that followed. Probably the highest praise that can be made for a service of this type is that they blended seamlessly into and added beautifully to the desired ambiance for our affair. Mary Block was a joy to work with from the get go, responding promptly to my initial query with all of the facts and sensible option recommendations. She was able to prepare lovely personal arrangements for any music not on their already extensive playlist that my daughter wished to have included in her ceremony. They arrived promptly and set up unobtrusively at the ceremony location, then were able to move quickly to the nearby cocktail hour venue. We could not have been more pleased with their professionalism and the quality of their playing and would gladly work with them again!

As a musician, I can tell when a player isn't hitting the right notes, etc. Arioso Strings consists of only the best musicians. They sound so much better than the excerpts that are posted on their website. They even played Rudolph for when my dogs were walking down the aisle. It was beyond perfect.

I cannot rave enough about this company. Just weeks before the event date, I decided I wanted a quartet to play for 4 hours. We really wanted our ceremony to be special and personalized and thought long and hard about music. We had two friends we wanted to lead 1-2 songs in the ceremony for us but we wanted a separate string group to do the processional, interlude, recessional music. This group was wonderful! They spoke with us on the phone to give guidance about our song selection and the feel that we wanted for our ceremony. I never had to think twice about them day of - they were on time, provided the most beautiful music that our guests loved and was perfect for what we wanted adding class and sweetness to our ceremony. Our daughter was married at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, NC on 3/4/17. Arioso Strings was on Fearrington's preferred list of music vendors and upon our first contact with Mary Block via phone and email, we could definitely understand why!
Mary is incredibly clear and organized in her explaining of the contract and the various ceremony music that they are able to provide. She was very patient and supportive to us wedding planning/music newbies!! We contracted for her quartet of musicians and they were simply perfect in presentation and musical talent! She offers a wide variety of song selections from classical to modern and various combinations/numbers of musicians to suit any individual/venue needs. The entire wedding party, family and friends remarked on how perfect and wonderful their music was for the occasion. Add to all this, that her fee is definitely very reasonable and what we received was worth waay more than we paid!

My husband and I got married on July 30, 2016 at The Cotton Room in Durham, NC. Arioso Strings performed the prelude, processional and recessional music, and it was simply magical. Our guests were blown away by the talent and professionalism of our string quartet and could not stop talking about the beautifully performed music days after our event. The music samples provided on their website are beautiful but do not fully capture the the talent of the musicians - they are amazing! Mary was an absolute pleasure to work with. Choose this group for your wedding!! I was extremely pleased with the quality of music, the professionalism of the musicians and the willingness of the coordinator to work with my vocalist. They were very organized and offered a great selection of music - they were available when I had a concern about timing, the number of songs & all the little details. When we told our officiant who we selected for music, she said, "You've got the best." We certainly did have the best. Mary Block helped us set up a beautiful musical program and my husband and I , as well as all of our guests, were blown away by how well Petia, Emi and Lindsay played. It really made a huge difference in the feeling of the day. In fact, my sister-in-law was so moved by the music, the prelude brought tears to her eyes. We would highly recommend our trio, and Arioso Strings, without reservation!

Mary Block was wonderful to work with. My emails were answered so quickly and phone calls were so pleasant. We had three musicians for my daughters outdoor wedding and the music was perfect! Everything we were promised came through. Mary was so helpful in picking music and had experience at our venue which was very helpful. No worries throughout the process!!

Arioso Strings played for my daughter's wedding and they were incredible! Mary Block is wonderful to work with, very responsive and extremely helpful in picking out music selections. We had a quartet and they were perfect, playing each piece exactly as we requested. No need to look any further, they are the best!!

Arioso Strings is amazing! I booked the Arioso String Quartet to play for the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour for my daughter’s May 21st wedding at the Angus Barn Pavilions in Raleigh. It was delightful to work with the talented Mary Block, who was so helpful and professional throughout the process from booking to song selection to performance. The traditional prelude, processional, and recessional music we selected was performed beautifully, and we loved the pop music selections for the cocktail hour. Many of our wedding guests complimented the Arioso String quartet performances. What a delightful addition Arioso Strings was to our daughter’s wedding!

Working with Arioso Strings and Mary Block could not have been a more pleasant and easy process. As my husband, mother and I were planning the ceremony, I was initially overwhelmed at the prospect of having to choose so many different songs and hoping they all flowed together. Mary directed me to the music suggestions for wedding ceremonies on their site, where I could sample all the songs for an idea of how they might fit into the ceremony. After I had somewhat of an idea but still some gaps, I shared my thoughts with Mary who made wonderful recommendations that we ended up incorporating. (For example, we had a candle lighting ceremony and I was nervous that it would be a long time for the guests to sit there and stare at us after the actual lighting had finished and the music was playing out. Mary, who knew we wanted to savor every moment of our ceremony, which goes by in an instant, and was aware of our concerns, recommended Ava Maria (about two minutes the way it was played). Her guidance to take this song into account could not have been more appreciated, as it allowed us to pause, enjoy the moment and reflect on what was taking place. Having that moment where everything is still, except the beautiful music carrying on in the background, is one of my favorite memories.)

We cannot thank Arioso Strings enough for such a beautiful ceremony and being such a special part of our big day. I'll never forget hearing Short Trip Home start up as my bridesmaids walked down the aisle and my heart start pounding in the best possible way.

Arioso Strings was great - we had them do ceremony music and cocktail hour music for our wedding. We used the Violin and Guitar Duo. They even arranged a piece for us that was not currently part of their repertoire (which is so expansive). We did all of our scheduling and planning through Mary Block. I am not sure the names of the two musicians, as I was so busy and never actually got to meet them. I would recommend these folks to anyone - truly first class musicians.

Absolutely amazing. The string quartet made our whole wedding day. It added such elegance and beauty to our ceremony. People are still talking about it. They were incredible and I can't possible thank them enough. Well done to each of you! Worth every penny and more!!

Arioso Strings provided music (violin and guitar duo) for our ceremony and cocktail hour at Duke Gardens, and we couldn't have been happier. Mary at Arioso was responsive and professional, and the online music planner was so helpful in mapping out exactly what we wanted. Music is so important in setting the tone for any event, and Arioso Strings truly knocked it out of the park!

We loved having the Arioso Strings quartet play at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour! They were extremely professional and easy to work with when planning our ceremony music, and we were very impressed with their extensive repertoire of both classical and popular music! They sounded beautiful during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and really helped make our wedding special. I was on the fence about whether to have live music for our ceremony, but I would highly recommend it, and would highly recommend Arioso Strings in particular!

My husband and I were very pleased with Arioso Strings from the time we booked them to our wedding day. They were prompt, professional, and attentive. As a busy bride who was also in grad school, their friendly reminders of selecting music, tips on creating a wedding program, making final payments, etc. was extremely helpful and appreciated! We booked a cello player and a violinist and all of our guests commented about how unbelievably romantic the ambiance was for our ceremony!

If you're looking for the perfect string quartet for your wedding, look no further than Arioso Strings! I wanted a very classic wedding, with a string quartet playing classical music during the ceremony and reception. But when I looked at the repertoire online, I was delighted to find modern music as well (Coldplay, for one) that was beautiful when played by Arioso Strings and just perfect for the reception! We also thought of changing the wedding date by a few days (which we did not, in the end), but Arioso Strings was very flexible. I loved working with Mary Block-- she was always very friendly and helpful. Don't waste another wedding-planning moment looking into other vendors-- Arioso Strings was absolutely perfect. :)
