Such AMAZING pictures - from our engagement photos to the big day, April was perfect. She is so sweet, accommodating, and easy to work with. She drove all the way from Franklin to our home on a weeknight last minute to do our engagement photos! And then she captured all the best moments from our wedding day - I literally can’t decide which ones are my favorite because she did such a great job. HIGHLY recommend!!! One of our favorite people to work with throughout the whole wedding process. I hope she will work with us again in the future! -

Oh em gee! Can i just start by saying how late i am writing this review. My husband and i were married in 2017 but due to some health issues with our daughter we purchased a house in another state and left Virginia. With everything that has happened in the last two years i have never ever stopped thinking about how much i needed to write this review for April! She is just that good and seriously shame on me for waiting so long to write it. My husband and I waited a very long time to get married.. 10 years waited. We wanted everything to be special and perfect and photography was a big deal for us! I am obsessed with photographs, and i am extremely picky but something about Aprils website just made me reach out! She was amazing from the first email! We wanted something very urban and gritty almost for our engagement sessions and she had no problem with that at all! No matter what we asked for she would say she could make it work, and she would find something perfect to make our vision come true. She did that and more! And can i please tell you how she kicked some dog poo out the way of a shot because she loved the spot so much. like seriously kicked poo in her beautiful flats lol!! I mean come on, she is seriously a BOSS haha, so down to earth, and just an amazing soul! I dont know how God packed so much personality into this tiny woman but we absolutely love her! My wedding guests loved her! And my wedding album is breathtaking due to all her hard work! April i wish we were still in the Virginia Area because we would book you for a family session in a heart beat lol! We wish you all the success in the world and trust and believe anyone in the DMV area who asks us about photography we scream your name all the way from New York lol! Thank you so much for everything you did for us! And im so sorry this took so long!

Amy Sent on 10/14/2018April did our engagement photos, my bridal portraits, and our wedding this past June and her work is absolutely stunning. She'd shot a few of our friends' weddings and we were already impressed with her work, but once we met with her, we canceled our other photographer appointments. Her personality and professionalism are as wonderful and amazing as her photography work. She instantly makes you feel comfortable, is super friendly and sweet, and super accommodating. She came out in 95-degree weather, braved snakes, and went to two locations for our engagement shots, and was a wonder woman when it came to our wedding. She was there early and stayed until the send-off and didn't stop for one second. It went from clear skies to pouring rain in the middle of our ceremony and she managed to get amazing shots even when everyone was getting drenched. I've seen some weddings have two to three photographers, but she's a one-woman show and can do it all. From candid shots, to detailed decor shots, to those special intimate moments, to corraling a rowdy wedding party and setting up creative staged shots, to bending and dodging crazy dancers to get the fun reception shots every photo we got back was superb and beautiful. She captured the moments, the feelings, and excitement. Hire her. You will not regret it. I mean just look at our photos...AMAZING!!!

Wendy Sent on 10/23/2011April was the not only the best photographer I could hope to find, but she was far and away the best vendor I had for our wedding! She will do just about anything for her clients, and her final product is gorgeous! I constantly get compliments on our wedding photos, and I tell everyone just who's responsible for it! She went out of her way and changed locations for us for our engagement shoot when we had transportation issues and was completely professional about the situation. April is also extremely quick in her editing process, and we received our photos from both the engagement session and the wedding day in 2 weeks or less from the shoot. I am happy to say that I have many beautiful photos of my husband and I that I love to show off, and also love to look at. April did an amazing job of capturing all of our emotions on our special day, and not only is she a talented photographer, I am happy to call her a friend, too. Since booking April, I've had two friends of mine use her services, and they are equally happy! Thank you, April, for providing us with beautiful reminders of our wedding day that Charlie and I can enjoy for a lifetime! -

We had been scammed by a fraudulent photographer before we stumbled upon April's amazing work- a blessing in disguise! She was 100% available during the planning process and her editing turn around time is incredible!! From the details to the candid moments, she captured our wedding beautifully! She continues to amaze me with her work and I am excited to see what she has in store. I can't wait to have babies so April can photograph them! -

Lisa Sent on 06/08/2011April is by far one of the most talented and professional photographers I have ever met. She has an eye for capturing the perfect shot every time. It was such a joy to work with her and her assistant on our day. Nothing was rushed or pushed or uncomfortable. She was able to catch simple moments that will tell a story for years to come. Our beach wedding pictures are simply amazing and I continue to receive compliments on her work. She went above and beyond all expectations. The mix of black/white and colored photos that were taken are just beautiful. DO NOT pass her up if your date is available on her calendar!! -

Chrissy Sent on 01/19/2011When planning a wedding, there are so many big decisions to make- colors, location, dates, food, and photography to name a few. For most of us, this is a once in a lifetime event, so all we have to base our choices on is recommendations from others. That is why we decided to help others by leaving our own review for April. I knew that above all else I wanted a quality photographer, because after everything else fades the pictures are there to remind you of every detail of your wedding day. I had looked at several photographers and was almost ready to sign a contract when April messaged me about her business that she had just started up in Virginia. As soon as I saw the first picture on her website, I knew her photography was the style that I had imagined in my head, but couldn’t quite find in any other local photographer. I made sure to book her immediately! Let me fast forward to the wedding day. As a reserved person, I was worried I would feel uncomfortable with a stranger taking my photo all day. All my concerns disappeared the moment April came knocking at our door. I almost didn’t even notice her presence while I was concentrating on getting ready which, as any bride can attest to, is an awesome quality on her part. During the ceremony as well she stayed in the background as to not draw attention away from our wedding mass. Next were the formal family shots. I give so much credit to her for being able to get all the shots we wanted of our big family. Lastly, during the ceremony, she took at least an hour with us outside just photographing my husband and me. April is so talented in all the areas you’d expect of a wedding photographer- beautiful detail shots, clear action shots (on the dance floor), great formals where everyone looks relaxed and natural, and GORGEOUS shots of the couple. For those of you on a budget, I did A LOT of research, and for the quality of her photos, you won’t find anyone more economical than April. On a personal level, April is such a wonderful person to work with. She was flexible, and fun, and even offered to stay past the time frame we paid her for so she could make sure to capture some reception traditions that had been pushed back later in the night that we had planned. She was prompt in returning any questions we had. She also posted 5 or 6 edited pictures the morning after the wedding!!! What other photographer does that?! No one wants to wait months to see their wedding pictures- April didn’t even make me wait 24 hours. Her final photographs were delivered in a pretty box on a personalized DVD. I am so thrilled with her work. Lastly, if this review has not convinced you, please do yourself a favor and check out her blog/website/facebook page! Christa Sent on 04/08/2009April Renee Photography is the best investment we made for our whole wedding. We have memories to last us a lifetime. She captured everything! April knew exactly what we wanted. We got poses and candids and everything inbetween,and we couldn't be happier! April was easy to deal with. She kept in touch during the whole planning process and answered any questions we had! We would recommend April and her business to anyone!
