Where to even begin!?! Philip and Heather have the biggest hearts out of any photographer we’ve ever worked with AND their creativity is astonishing! I highly doubt it could get any better than these two! Their passion for photography AND PEOPLE shines through their photos. They truly want your day to be as magical as you plan for it to be and make that goal so easy! We had such a fun time with them & wish we lived closer so we could hangout with them more than just the one day we got HA! Their fluidity with each other while behind camera is most definitely telepathic! IT WAS INCREDIBLE! Every single moment was captured with so much emotion and so many angles, you will find yourself going through them for hours and hours like I did in continuous amazement. The turn around time of our photos was mind blowing considering the creativity and love so perfectly executed! & SOOO many of them at that! They’re a truly talented husband wife duo and I can’t wait to work with them again! You’re really missing out if you turn your head from these guys! -

Best wedding photographers ever!
My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Applehead Photography and how they made not only our day special but also for the rest of time as we reminisce on it! The photography and videography were the most important aspects to me when booking our vendors since I knew these were the pieces we would have forever to look back at. Philip & Heather more than delivered in every way! From the moment we met at our engagement shoot, they felt more like friends and calmed our nerves. They not only put us at ease, but also effortlessly made it fun which definitely showed in the photos! We also got several compliments from guests at our wedding of how personable and great they were. During the day, they were on hand and ready to help out in any way whether it was driving my mom and I down the path to the venue when my mom accidentally handed her keys to someone else, helping bustle my dress, or keeping groomsmen in line (or maybe encouraging their weirdness which is even better haha).
The 90s home video style videography is so much fun for us because it felt more personal and captured everyone’s personalities perfectly. We loved how Pheather had a couple of video cameras that were passed around to friends to swap with people during the night so that even more intimate and true to life moments were captured. I also am still in awe of not only how quickly we got both the photos from our engagement shoot and the wedding photos/videos back, but how many there were and perfectly edited! My husband and I had decided last minute to take dance lessons for our first dance, but originally didn’t add it on to our videography package. I realized afterwards that we didn’t and no one had gotten a full video of it, but Philip saved the day by having the full footage anyway that we were able to add on post wedding to our package!
We highly recommend Applehead and would use them over and over again. Pheather is one of the coolest couples you will meet and have a blast hanging out with during your wedding day!

Our wedding was perfect and our amazing photographers were a huge reason why! The photos are fantastic and they emailed them to us three days after our ceremony - we were still on our honeymoon! They have an incredible style and an amazing work ethic but most importantly, they were so fun to work with and be around. -

My (now) husband and I had the opportunity to do a styled shoot with Phillip and Heather in August 2020 and it was one of the most fun, creative, and easy-going photoshoots I've ever done. My husband is not comfortable in front of the camera, and they had him laughing, smiling, and relaxed during the photos of us together and the ones of him alone. I can honestly say the photos they produced are my favorite of any shoot I have ever been a part of (I model and have done a lot of wedding style shoots through the years). When we met Phillip and Heather through the styled shoot, we had already booked a photographer for our actual wedding in Sonoma in May 2021 (we were a covid wedding and original date was supposed to be April 2020). Our wedding finally happened, we got our photos back from the photographer we booked out there and while they’re beautiful, they don’t compare to what Phillip and Heather created during our styled shoot together. The creative eye and direction they give is what gets the incredible shots that make your jaw drop, and that is something that sets them apart tremendously. I was wishing SO bad that we had them as our photographers for our big day. So much so, that I asked them to do a redo shoot for us in my gown and his tux so we could recreate the big day as much as possible and have the beautiful pictures they create to keep forever!! And those pictures are my absolute favorites we’ve ever taken!! I just love them so much and cannot recommend them enough. We laughed until we cried a few times while we were together and created magic in between. They’re great people and the perfect duo. Anyone would be lucky to work with them. Pheather, y’all are the best -

APD was the first vendor I hired when I first started planning my wedding 14 months ago. I had connected immediately with Heather and was so stoked to work with them! Pheather (heather and Philips nickname 🥰) made us laugh and made us feel so comfortable during our engagement shoot and the entire day of our wedding. It was like hanging out with old friends each time we saw them and their work is impeccable. I won’t be getting married ever again but I will definitely be going to APD for ALLLLL of my photography needs for the rest of my existence. Seriously. My favorite people. -

-Make you laugh like you’ve been lifelong friends
-Keep you calm even when you’re stressed and running behind on time
-Interact with your wedding guests and make them all love them too
-Help you with the world’s most heaviest and confusing dress bustle
-Grab food for you when you realize you haven’t eaten yet
-Have your wedding photos back to you within a WEEK during peak wedding season (October)
-Help with vendor recommendations, and day of timeline so you get perfect time for photos
-Create the most incredible, unique, and timeless photos you’ve ever seen
And honestly SO much more. They deserve more than 5 stars for everything they did for us. Our friends who are already married wish they could do their weddings over with Phillip and Heather. If you’ve come this far and found them, I really wouldn’t consider anyone else. -

We loved having Applehead Photography as our photographers for our wedding! Both Phillip and Heather did a great job at keeping us comfortable to ensure great photos. All of our guests LOVED them. This helped get a lot of fun shots of our friends at the wedding too. The turn around time after the wedding to getting the pictures is unreal and amazing. We love our photos so much we are having trouble deciding on our favorite shots. This is also because of the dynamic nature of the photographs. They are just wonderful! An additional plus, Heather is very responsive to all messages no matter the platform. We want to throw another party so we can have Philip and Heather do their magic again. -

Very communicative, showed up on time and looked amazing, worked with me on a super tight timeline and less-than-cooperative family members. All my guests absolutely loved them as well! The photos themselves are obviously stunning, each one a work of art - they have such a clear vision and distinct style that was so in line with my Halloweekend wedding, nothing felt forced or awkward, and we have so many incredible photos of every moment. And they got them to us so fast we were still on our honeymoon! If I could rate higher, I would. -

I cannot recommend Applehead Photography enough! My husband and I met them at a friends wedding they were photographing and we instantly connected with them and decided to have them photograph our wedding and it was the BEST decision. They were extremely organized and sent out a few questionnaires before our big day so that they knew exactly what family photos we wanted. This made the family picture taking so efficient and allowed for more time to get creative and gorgeous pictures of the two of us! We also got our pictures back SO quickly! It's amazing to have photographers that are just as excited to see the pictures after lighting and editing as much as you! In my opinion, their photography style and skills are absolutely unmatched. The uniqueness and moodiness that they achieve through their photography and editing is just stunning. We particularly wanted a very dark and moody feel for our wedding and they captured that beautifully in our photos as well. I have received countless compliments on my wedding photos and I truly owe it to Philip and Heather. They make the perfect team as well! I love the fact that Philip was able to capture my husband and his crew while they were getting ready and Heather was in the bridal suite capturing my girls and I! The creativity they have on the spot to make stunning pictures is just incredible! Did I mention they are SO FUN? We had THE BEST time while they were photographing us. It was nothing but laughs and smiles and we truly loved that. If you're looking for timeless, unique, photos that are far from the basic wedding style photos that you see everywhere, Applehead photography is where it's at. I will cherish my wedding photos forever and I could not be happier with how they turned out!! -

Best Photographer
Apple Head Photography was the best photographer we could have prayed for our on wedding day!
They went above and beyond to get to know us and help us feel comfortable during our engagement photos, and this allowed two camera-shy people to open up and have engagement and wedding photos that they loved. Phillip and Heather provided a gorgeous product and an absolute ease of service. It was a pleasure to work with them and have them be a part of our big day.
We are constantly receiving compliments on our photos. Phillip and Heather listened to our wants and we’re able to capture every moment we had envisioned. Their style allowed for unique and gorgeous photos that differ from the norm. I truly can’t recommend them enough for the love that they pour out into their work! -

I wish I could give 6 stars!!
They were absolutely amazing! I would recommend them to everyone and anyone! Heather and Philip were absolutely the chillest and funniest couple to work with, almost as chill as their dogs! On our small wedding they still made me feel like a star! Their quality of work is incredible, and you still get a lot of photos from a day with them. I I have never been a fan of black and white photography until Philip gave us some for our wedding and they are my husbands favorite and I love them just as well! They have this gothic aesthetic but don’t be worried! If that is not your thing they will still shoot your photos with this lovely romantic style and you will be blown away! The turn around time was fast and they even mailed us a flash drive with all our photos! Me and my husband now live across the country and found ourself pregnant and we both said how said we were they couldn’t shoot our maternity shots. They will leave this long lasting effect on you, you will want them again and if you can you should! -

Dream photographers!
Wowowow! The best wedding photographers (photographers in general) ever!! Heather and Philip make you feel so comfortable during the session. My wife and I don’t usually like being in front of the camera, but they made it such a fun and enjoyable experience! Their content and photos are amazing and the editing is impeccable! Also, they are the coolest people you will ever meet. Book them asap!! 10/10 -

Best photographers!! My husband and I have no idea what to do in front of a camera -let alone relax. Heather and Philip were amazing at striking us in our natural state and posed. They are so friendly, great at communicating, and take amazing photographs. My wedding guests also loved them.
If I had a downside to tell I would share it - but I truly do not.
I was hesitant because they were outside our budget - but so glad I did because they had a wedding package that ended up being perfect for us! -

Heather and Philip (Pheather) were my absolute, hands down favorite part of our wedding. They were the very first vendor we hired, because the moment I saw their work, I knew no other photographer could fit the vision I had like they could. Their stylization is "moody," but also elegant, deep, editorial, ingenious. They tell a story with their photography that simply can't be captured with the overexposed airiness of so many other wedding photographers. I feel like they are almost telepathically in tune with each other, both visionary and seeing the shot they want before it is even taken. Their personalities are so easy going and funny; people you want to be best friends with after the shoot. They made both my husband and I feel so comfortable while shooting, and that is saying a lot on my husbands part who typically despises having his picture taken. All of our guests are still talking about how personable they are as humans, but, also, how captivating their photographs are. Their work speaks for itself. Also, if speed is something you're looking for, they deliver the highest quality photographs you can imagine faster than any other wedding photographers. We had ours back before we were even home from our honeymoon. I simply can't wait to have more life events that I can hire them for. Thank you guys for capturing our memories and creating art with them. We love you both! -

Phillip and Heather are by far the best photographers you can have at your wedding. When we first contacted them I thought we were splurging on our photography, but I now know we snagged an absolute steal. They are worth every single penny and more! They are very professional and were our best and most helpful vendor. They were better than our venue, bakery, videographer, flower, and DJ combined. They reached out to us early to get an idea about our vision and gave us great guidance as to what to expect for our big day. Leading up to the day, they were the only vendor that actually contacted us with reminders and clarifications that no other vendor did. On the day of, they were not only incredibly helpful, they were absolute champs when it came up rolling with the punches and really making the day special. I can't recommend them enough. Your search for a photographer ends here. Please contact them immediately! -

Most Amazing Photographers & Photos
Philip and Heather are absolutely amazing and the best photographers!! From the very start I knew I did not want the average, bright, and airy wedding photos that you see everywhere. As soon as I saw Applehead's work, I knew they were they ones I wanted capturing my wedding day and that was the best decision I made! They're work is edgy, creative, and unique to each wedding. From beginning to end both Heather and Philip were so helpful with everything; making the whole process fun and easy. From trekking through the woods with us, to helping reschedule events to fit everything in! Not only did they perfectly capture the feeling of our wedding but also got so many amazing, fun photos of everyone dancing and having a great time! I also cannot express enough how much of a benefit it is to have two photographers. You get so many more photos in a shorter amount of time, along with getting two different angles of everything! Not to mention that they get the photos back to you extremely fast; they had them done before we even got back from our honeymoon! I cannot imagine the day without them both, my only regret is that we didn’t have them there longer! -

Best Wedding Photographers!
We found Heather and Phillip on Instagram for our engagement shoot! Instantly we became friends! Going into the shoot I explained the “vibe” I was going for, and they understood the assignment!! We new after the engagement photos came back that it was meant to be! When I tell you my wedding photos are perfect… I’m not kidding!!!! Every single person I show tells me “your photographers are amazing!” I just go, “I KNOWWWWW!” Thank you for capturing our day to perfection! I could not have asked for more! -

Of the many vendors hired for our wedding, the best money spent was with Applehead Photography. My husband and I aren’t exactly pros in front of the camera, but Philip and Heather were able to get us out of our shells and capture our personality in every shot. We chose to do our engagement photos at the venue in which we were going to be married, and we were able to practice poses and locations that we thought would be best for the actual wedding day - something I would highly recommend to any couple. I absolutely loved every one of the photos taken in both our engagement and wedding, which is a very amazing feat, as we all know how self-critical we can be when viewing ourselves in photos. I felt that Heather and Philip truly took the time and effort to know us and our needs/wants for our special day. Fast forward a few years, and our pup was celebrating her 10th birthday - I didn’t hesitate to call Applehead to inquire about capturing this special moment in (now) our married life. Again, the photos didn’t disappoint and, as always, the turnaround was quick and seamless. I’ve found my photographers for life. -

Just book them already!
I should just let the pictures I shared do the talking because Philip and Heather left my husband and I speechless when we got our wedding photos back. I don’t have the words to say all the good things about them! From the moment they arrived on our wedding day, we felt like we were spending time with old friends. They were so fun and easy to be around and immediately made us feel comfortable despite feeling awkward in front of a camera. Somehow, they managed to make us look like models! They gave incredible direction and have such a unique vision for every photo. Just do whatever they tell you- trust them! The turn around time for editing the photos was also extremely fast. They’re a truly hardworking duo with some amazing talent and kind hearts. I have no doubt that they offer the same quality of service to every client they have. We hired Heather and Phillip for our January 2021 wedding and can’t even begin to express how much we loved their work! Not only are their photos phenomenal, but they are both the sweetest humans! There are not enough words to say how amazing Heather and Philip are! They put us both at so much ease during our engagement shoot, my husband's grad photos, and on our wedding day. We had to postpone our wedding and then we reduced it to less than 20 people and moved it to Gatlinburg and I told my husband I absolute refused to give up Pheather as our photographers. Thankfully they were able to travel to Gatlinburg and the pictures were a dream come true. Our pictures look similar to a stylized shoot which is what I was hoping for since my husband and I wanted ones that looked more like artwork than traditional wedding photos and Pheather absolutely delivered. They made us laugh the whole time and seemed to have the perfect thing to say when I got stressed and started to get overwhelmed during group photos. Their turn around time for photos is insanely fast and I was so thankful to not have to wait multiple months to get my photos like so many of my friends have had to do. I cannot recommend them enough and they deserve more than 5 stars! -

There really aren’t sufficient words in the English language to express how amazing these guys are. Philip and Heather beautifully captured every detail of our wedding day. Usually you have to pick between quantity and quality. One look at their photos and you know they exemplify quality. Because of this, I honestly was not expecting to have as many unique, posed shots as we ended up with, in addition to candid reception shots, group shots, details, and everything else. I seriously don’t know how they did it. Every single photo is absolutely incredible. Not only can they pose, compose, and edit in a beautifully artistic way, they also are insanely talented candid photographers and know how to capture moments and expressions, which as a photographer, can be REALLY hard to do.
They got it all. I can’t believe the number of photos they turned over to us, in LESS than two weeks (ten days, to be exact), and not just that, but the quality of everything and the variety, it’s just amazing. We got so many unique posed shots, each one is absolutely stunning and something we would hang on our wall. They got details of EVERYTHING, so even though we were too busy to remember what our cake even looked like, they got several shots of it and every other detail of the day. They asked us what group photos we wanted and got those for us, they work SUPER fast and the results are perfect. Philip worked with me and my groomsmen to make some really special group shots that are the absolute coolest photos I’ve ever been a part of. They did our first look, but kept it really low key, which is how we wanted it. They just totally got us and our style. On our day-after photo shoot, they brought the drone along and made some really cool aerial shots and over the water shots. I just can’t say enough about how much effort they put in and how far they went to make our photos truly special. It is obvious that they care so much about their clients and their craft. They are simply the best at what they do, and you can tell they really love doing it.
As if all this wasn’t enough, they are genuinely kind, funny, and fun people to have around on your special day. We honestly had so much fun just hanging out with them, we were instant friends. They work in such a relaxed, but efficient way. They aren’t the kind of photographers that are going to add to your stress, In fact, they do very much the opposite and help you enjoy your day.
If you’re looking for an amazingly talented, artistic team of photographers to capture your wedding day, with impeccable quality and style, you won’t find any better than Philip and Heather. They were truly a pleasure to work with, and the photos exceeded our wildest expectations. Thank you guys!!! -

Heather and Phillip have a GOD GIVEN TALENT. Their ideas just flow off each other and they are so easy to work with! Their photos are definitely unmatched by any, my turn around time for my wedding photos was unreal! I will always recommend them (my sister is actually using them in her wedding next month!). Having two photographers is a game changer, you may not think about it but they get every angle of your big day so nothing is missed! -

Words can't even express how much we loved working with Heather and Philip throughout our entire process of planning, and especially on our wedding day. Our Favorite Photographers
We cannot begin to explain how much fun we had working with APD! It was such a blast. Heather and Phillip have such an eye, not to mention the perfect personality for “low-key” couples who want to celebrate their love and have the real-life moments captured. They’re so encouraging and really support any unique vibes. Working with them was more like playing, which is exactly what my husband and I wanted. We also got incredible candid shots of us and our guests-which is great because we weren't able to spend extended periods of time with our guests and now we have evidence everyone had a great time! -
